OHMYGOSSIP — Johannes Radebe is ready for a serious relationship.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional – who identifies as gay – has admitted he previously didn’t feel able to “accept love” from others because he needed to learn to love himself first.
However, the dancer is in the right place now to meet a partner and has revealed his desire to start a family one day.
He told HELLO! magazine: “I’ve never given relationships a chance. We can’t love someone else if we don’t love ourselves, but I’m now in a place in my own mind where I can accept love because I know how to give love.
“I’m still waiting for someone to step forward for me and know there are wonderful people out there. And yes, I’d like children one day. Parenthood is a huge responsibility I’d like to share.”
The 34-year-old South African choreographer – who was partnered with former ‘Great British Bake Off’ champion John Whaite on the most recent series of the BBC One Latin and ballroom show – also revealed that he nearly quit the UK to return to his home country following three deaths in his family.
He told the publication: “Three members of my family had died. I felt lost and wanted to be there for my mum and the others.
“I was living a beautiful life in the UK but started to question what was more important. My career had taken me away from my family for years and I felt guilty. It still bothers me to this day.
“I live alone and don’t have a partner. So, I thought by going home I could lead a simpler life around people I love.”
However, his late aunt encouraged him to remain.
He added: “She told me I was highly favoured, not because of what I do on the dancefloor but because my purpose is about extending myself to help others.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Chuckle has signed up for ‘Celebrity MasterChef’.
Paul Harman Elliot – who is best known as one half of comedy double act the Chuckle Brothers alongside his late sibling Barry David Elliot aka Barry Chuckle – is looking forward to his next TV stint as a competitor on the BBC One cooking competition, the Daily Star newspaper has exclusively revealed.
Paul, who is a big fan of ‘MasterChef’, previously showed off his amateur cooking skills during lockdown when he posted videos of himself on his YouTube channel making a wide range of various dishes such as moussaka and bread and butter pudding.
Paul and Barry – who starred in the BBC children’s programme ‘ChuckleVision’ from 1987 to 2009 – also had their own cooking show called ‘Chucklevision: What’s Cooking’ that first aired back in 1995 and ran for seven series.
Paul lost his brother Barry on 5 August 2018 at the age of 73 to bone cancer and he still misses his brother every day.
The new series of ‘Celebrity MasterChef’ will return to BBC One later in the year and filming is currently underway with Greg Wallace and John Torode judging the contestants.
Other celebrities set to be part of the line-up are retired Fulham footballer Jimmy Bullard, former ‘Coronation Street’ actor Ryan Thomas, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Katya Jones and McFly guitarist Danny Jones.
A source previously said: “Danny has been cooking up a storm for Gregg Wallace and John Torode. Fans might not know but he is a pretty decent chef and he is really impressed.
“Obviously the pressure in that kitchen is like nothing Danny has experienced before. But he has really shone.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brenda Edwards has been supported by her ‘Loose Women’ co-stars following the death of her son Jamal Edwards.
The DJ and founder of the online urban music platform SB.TV – who helped launched the careers of the likes of Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Jessie J and Dave – passed away on Sunday (20.02.22) aged 31 from a “sudden illness”.
Brenda, 52, issued a statement on her son’s tragic passing which read: “It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness. Myself, his sister Tanish and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world,
“As we come to terms with his passing, we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support. Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD.”
Many of Brenda’s fellow ‘Loose Women’ panellists took to social media to offer words of condolence as she comes to terms with Jamal’s death.
Denise Welch posted on Twitter: “My heart aches for my friend Brenda. I can’t bear it. Jamal Edwards was a wonderful son and brother.”
Charlene White – who often helms the ITV daytime show – tweeted: “Your light shone so brightly that it touched so many of us, impacted the lives of many more, and changed the game forever.
“And, you are my Brenda’s son. There are no words to describe her heartbreak, our heartbreak, now that your light has gone. Sometimes life is terribly unfair.”
Posting on Twitter, Katie Piper wrote: “Shocked and sadden to hear of the passing of
@jamaledwards thoughts and prayers with @brenda_edwards and family.”
Saira Khan – who no longer sits on the ‘Loose Women’ panel – took time out from a family holiday to admit she was “devastated” to hear of “shining light” Jamal’s passing.
Posting a statement via Instagram Live, she wrote: “I have just heard the heartbreaking news that @jamaledwards has died. I am devastated for @brendaedwardsglobal and send her and her whole family my prayers and deepest sympathies.
“I met @jalamedewards whilst filming a children’s show and was struck by his humility and passion to help kids to believe in their talents.
“R.I.P young man. You were a bright shining light here on earth. Now you will shine brightly in the sky.”
Jamal – who was born in Luton – had only recently attended the BRIT Awards on February 8.
In his last Instagram post four days ago, the author paid tribute to his close friend Ed Sheeran on his 31st birthday.
He wrote alongside a snap with the ‘Bad Habits’ hitmaker: “Happy Birthday to the OG, Ed. Blessed to have you in my life brother. You know you’ve been mates a long time when you lose count on the years! Keep smashing it and inspiring us all G! (sic)”
Jamal was made an MBE for his contributions to music in 2014 and was also an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust, Prince Charles’ charity.
A champion for emerging artists, Jamal launched SB.TV in 2006.
He started out making videos of his friends performing and uploaded them to his YouTube channel, before creating the SB.TV channel.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Mecklenburgh is expecting a baby girl.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star had an “inkling” that her second child with her 37-year-old fiancé Ryan Thomas was going to be a daughter and she can’t wait to meet her little girl in the Spring.
In an interview with the new issue of HELLO! magazine, Lucy – who already has Roman, two, with Ryan – said: “I had an inkling that I was having a girl, but I was a bit more unsure than with Roman. With him I just knew – I don’t know why but even before we found out, I said: ‘I know, one hundred per cent, it’s a boy.'”
Another difference second time around is that Lucy and the former ‘Coronation Street’ star – who met during filming of ‘The Island With Bear Grylls’ – are unsure about what to name their bundle of joy, admitting that they “may have to wait to meet her” before they decide on a moniker.
She said: “With Roman we named him as soon as we found out we were having a boy. I remember we looked at a list and we both pointed to the same name.
“But this time, we have a list of 15 names. We may just have to wait to meet her,” she laughs. “Nothing in the world beats that moment when you hold your baby for the first time.”
The 30-year-old fitness guru described motherhood as a “whole new kind of love”.
Lucy said: “You experience this whole new kind of love, and they are your world. Nothing else really matters.”
However, she had a new set of “lonely” circumstances, becoming a mother just weeks before the nation went into lockdown to fight COVID-19.
She said: “Being a new mum can be a very lonely place anyway, and then take away your mum popping in for a cup of coffee or going for a walk with a friend.
To connect to others, Lucy took to social media to find out she was “not alone”.
She shared: “I’d put up Stories at 4am about feeding and I’d get mums messaging me back. It was a way to know you are not alone. That is how motherhood is: we are all in it together.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Arlene Phillips believes it’s “important” to see older women on television.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge – who was replaced by Alesha Dixon on the BBC latin and ballroom competition – advocates for not just young women to be “represented” to ensure that generations of women do not just “disappear”.
The 78-year-old television personality told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “We need to be represented on television. Otherwise older women will just disappear from prime time.”
She urged its vital that older women appear on programmes “that everyone sees on a regular basis with young people.”
Arlene loved seeing 80s television icon Joan Collins, 88, as a guest judge on the ITV celebrity singing show ‘The Masked Singer’.
She said: “She is the eternal glamour queen and it was so good to see her on the show”
Arlene – who is currently tasked with choreographing the national tour of the stage musical ‘Grease’ – doesn’t want to think about aging.
She said: “I just want to get on with my life and see where it takes me. I am probably ridiculously young and stupid. Your brain doesn’t seem to grow with age.”
However, she does enjoy some of the benefits of getting older, such as “always” being offered a seat on the London Underground.
Arlene said: “As soon as I walk on the Tube, three people will stand up for me! It always makes me smile and I say, ‘Thank you,’ and I sit down.”
On Sunday (20.02.22), Arlene was a guest judge on ‘Dancing on Ice’, labelling it “the perfect home” for her.
She said: “They’ve found the perfect home for me during musical theatre week. I am delighted. I love judging and miss ‘Strictly’ – it was a massive party of my life.”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ contestant will soon be back on our screens judging stars tripping the light fantastic on the new show ‘The Masked Dancer’ and boasted about being able to “recognise” people through their twinkle toes.
Arlene said: “I can recognise most people through their dance moves and have that knowledge tucked away.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky Pattison will explore her father’s alcoholism in a new documentary.
The 34-year-old reality star will appear in Channel 4’s ‘Vicky Pattison: My Dad, Alcohol and Me’.
The show – which will be produced by Firecracker Films – will explore the topic of addiction and see Vicky investigate whether or not there is a genetic link involved in alcoholism.
Vicky, who is now the same age of her father when his addition took hold, will discuss her childhood years that involved watching her father John battle with the booze, and she will undergo her own medical tests to find out whether or not years of partying have caused any damage to her body.
Vicky – who was one of the biggest party girls and boozers on ‘Geordie Shore’ – said: “As many people know by now, I have always been extremely honest about my life, but this is a story I have been wanting to tell for year and I finally feel ready.
“I’m hoping to find answers to some questions I’ve been asking for my entire life and I hope it will go on to help thousands of others too.
“It’s been wonderful working with Firecracker and Channel 4 on a project which is so close to my heart.”
Last month, Vicky admitted that she needed to go to therapy after she turned to drink which quickly took over her life because she felt “lost and alone” after she won ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ back in 2015.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Darcey Bussell still watches ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ even though she left the show as a judge.
The retired ballerina stepped away from the judging panel in 2019, but she sill loves the BBC One ballroom competition and was captivated by the 2021 final which was ultimately won by deaf actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice.
In an interview with the Metro newspaper, she said: “I don’t watch it every Saturday but I do watch it and I will always love it. You don’t always get finals like the last one when everybody deserved to be the winner.
“It was an interesting one with Rose Ayling-Ellis winning. I was very, very, very, very happy with the result!”
Darcey says ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is great at encouraging people with two left feet and a “don’t dance” mentality to get up and give it a go.
She added: “They have loads of people that go on there going, ‘I don’t dance’ only to prove they can, and can have a lot of fun and learn so many skills.
“I think it’s the competition side of life that we have to overcome. As any child grows up they create inhibitions and issues around what were intimidated by. “We always think stuff like, ‘Oh I’m just not good at that,’ or, ‘People will laugh at me or think I’m not cool.’
“But if you break down those barriers from a very young age and you make it the norm, that you’re allowed to enjoy the music and interpret it the way you want to interpret it, then those inhibitions disappear.”
Darcey – runs her own charity DDMIX – Diverse Dance Mix – is hoping to make dance lessons in state schools compulsory.
She said: “It’s a big passion I’ve had for a long time, which is to make that dance is part of PE lessons. I went to a state school before dance school so I know they suffer from a lack of dance.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Thomas’ daughter is joining her uncle Adam Thomas in ‘Waterloo Road’.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star has announced that his 13-year-old child Scarlett – his daughter with his ex-partner, fellow ‘Corrie’ star Tina O’Brien – has been cast in the upcoming 11th series of the BBC One school drama.
Scarlett will be playing a student at Waterloo Road and she will be working directly with uncle Adam, 33, as she will be the daughter of his character Donte Charles and Chlo Grainger (Katie Griffiths).
Ryan, 37, announced the news on his Instagram account, sharing a sweet photo of Adam with Scarlett when she was younger.
He captioned the post: “The secret is finally out!!!
“As a Father and big brother it doesn’t get much better in life to find out that my brother is going back to “Waterloo Road ” where it all started for him in his career to then find out Scarlett is going to play his daughter in the show. @adamthomas21 @scarlettjthomas26 @waterlooroad”
Scarlett’s mother Tina, 38, also shared her pride at her daughter’s casting, posting: “Very excited to finally be able to announce that my gorgeous, lovely, talented Scarlett Thomas will be in the new series of @waterlooroad @bbciplayer #proudmum”
Adam previously spoke about how he felt “blessed” to be returning to ‘Waterloo Road’.
The actor made his acting breakthrough as Donte Charles in the series from 2006 to 2009 before making an even bigger name for himself in ‘Emmerdale’, and he is delighted to be returning to the show that kick-started his career.
He said: “I’m so excited to go back to where it all started!
“‘Waterloo Road’ was a huge part of my life and career so to go back 15 years later is a dream come true.
“I feel so blessed to have been given this opportunity to get back to acting and doing what I love!
“I can’t wait to see some old faces and some new. I know this series is going to be the best one yet.”
Other new additions to the ‘Waterloo Road’ cast for the new series include Kym Marsh as school canteen worker Nicky Walters, who is also a mum to two pupils at the fictional school, ‘Still Open All Hours’ star James Baxter as joint deputy head Joe Casey and Jo Coffey as Wendy Whitwell, PA to headteacher Kim Campbell, a role which Angela Griffin will reprise.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dom Joly is considering a ‘Trigger Happy’ film.
The 54-year-old comedian found huge success with his hidden camera comedy series ‘Trigger Happy TV’ in the early 2000s and he has teased that there have been discussions to bring the format back as a movie.
He told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “I have just started re-collaborating with Sam (Cadman) who I made ‘Trigger Happy’ with and we haven’t done anything since it stopped. And it’s possible, just a tiny possibility that we might have a movie.
“It’s something we always wanted to do and every time we were asked to do one, we’d go in and we’d meet people with high polo necks. They’d sort of stroke their beards and they’d go, ‘What is the film?’ I’d start telling them and they’d go, ‘And what’s the narrative arc?’ And I’m like, ‘There isn’t a narrative arc, I just want a big funny movie.’ And it looks like finally we might be able to do that.”
‘Trigger Happy TV’ – which ran for two series from 2000 to 2003 on Channel 4 – saw Dom startling members of the public with his outrageous gags, with his most famous sketch seeing him talk into a giant mobile phone as bemused onlookers stared at him.
The show which recently re-emerged on Netflix has since won over a young fan base, many of which are the offspring of the parents who originally watched the show.
Dom previously admitted he was proud that ‘Trigger Happy TV’ had found a new generation of fans Joly said: “Those parents are doing what I’d never dare do. Where you show your kids what you watched when you were younger, half expecting they’ll go, ‘Oh, F*** off!”
Dom who is also fascinated by the dark tourism industry and has written multiple memoirs about his adventures as a dark tourist will resume his nationwide tour in March titled ‘Dom Joly’s Holiday Snaps: Travel Comedy In The Danger Zone’.
So far the comedian who has been to 106 countries and counting says that edgier destinations like Iran and Syria are worth a visit over ones where “you’re never more than 100 metres away from a Starbucks”.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ will now air Monday to Thursdays at 7.30pm as part of BBC’s new soap schedule.
The broadcaster will drop the show’s Friday episode from next month, which the programme set to air in a fixed time slot on four consecutive nights on BBC One from March 7, which will put it at odds with ITV’s ‘Emmerdale’ when it moves to 7.30pm the same month.
The Beeb also confirmed ‘Doctors’ will make its evening debut at 7pm on BBC Two, while still keeping its usual lunchtime 1.45pm slot on BBC One.
Both ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Doctors’ will still be available on iPlayer, with the new schedule starting on March 7.
In a statement, Kate Oates, Head of Continuing Drama, BBC Studios added: “We’re delighted that, from 7th March, there will be new regular time slots for EastEnders on BBC One, and Doctors on BBC Two.
“Both shows have a loyal following; and this new simplified schedule means it’s even easier for viewers to get their fix, as well as being able to watch whenever and wherever they choose on iPlayer.
“A 7pm time slot gives a whole new audience chance to enjoy the drama in Letherbridge; while EastEnders’ new 7.30pm slot begins with a hugely exciting week, as killer Gray Atkins is finally exposed…”
Meanwhile, it’s said BBC bosses aren’t worried about clashes with rivals soaps, as they see EastEnders’ huge success on BBC iPlayer – over 285 million streams in 2021 – as proof fans are tuning in via the online service.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It’s no longer about the overnight ratings because they don’t reflect the true picture of who is tuning in,’ the insider continued. ‘You only have to look at the numbers watching ‘EastEnders’ on iPlayer, the figures are pretty incredible.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Doctor Who’ bosses reportedly want Tanya Reynolds as the new assistant.
The ‘Sex Education’ star – who plays androgynous bisexual character Lily Iglehart in the hit Netflix show – is being lined up by producers for the BBC sci-fi show to join the next Doctor in the TARDIS for the new series when the show starts filming again in April.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “If Tanya becomes the Doctor’s new companion, she’d be a unique sidekick in comparison to the likes of Billie Piper or Jenna Coleman.
“But that’s the whole point of the reinvented ‘Doctor Who’ – they want to create a very different version of the time-travelling adventures.
“Since they’re likely to be hiring a very different actor to play the Time Lord, it makes sense to select an unusual companion for them.”
However, the report suggested Tanya could potentially be tempted to take on “a lesser role” in the show due to the huge commitment which comes with such a big part.
The insider added: “It will be a dilemma for Tanya, who may end up taking a lesser role on the cast because she knows that being a companion can be just as long a commitment as playing the Doctor.”
Fans are eagerly awaiting news on who will replace Jodie Whittaker on the show, and earlier this month it was said Fady Elsayed – who starred in ‘Doctor Who’ spin-off ‘Class’ in 2016 – is in line for the iconic role.
A source said: “Fady would be a very different Doctor – but that’s precisely what the creators want.”
However, a number of alternative names have previously been tipped for the coveted role of the Doctor, including Omari Douglas and Lydia West, who starred in the hit Channel 4 drama ‘It’s A Sin’.
