Tom Holland baffled Zendaya when he tried to explain Uncharted

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Holland left Zendaya baffled when he tried to explain ‘Uncharted’ to her.
The 25-year-old star plays Nathan Drake in the new film based on the video game series of the same name but confessed that his girlfriend and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ co-star was at a loss when he attempted to explain the concept of the movie to her.
Speaking on the US chat show ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’, Tom recalled: “I was actually on set on Spider-Man pitching the movie to Zendaya. I was going through the film scene-by-scene, and I told her, ‘Oh, there’s this great bit where I get hit by a car out of a plane.’
“And she’s like, ‘I have to stop you there. What on Earth is this movie about?'”
Holland admitted that his love of ‘Indiana Jones’ was a key factor in persuading him to star in ‘Uncharted’ and he was initially excited to perform his own stunts.
Tom said: “But then I had to do it, and I broke myself.
“They tell you, ‘Right, we’re going to do this stunt where you’re going to jump into the back of an airplane and then you get hit by a car out of the airplane.’ And you’re like, ‘Wow, that sounds amazing!’
“And then you shoot it and you’re on take 12 and they are like, ‘Can we do it again?’ And you’re like, ‘No, I’m done.’ It was tough.”
The Spider-Man star revealed that he was left limping after some of the action scenes but was happy to do so for the benefit of the film.
Tom said: “I walked away from every stunt, but I definitely limped from a few. It looked great in the film, so I was happy to take the pounding.”

Matt Reeves won’t be rushing The Batman sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Reeves doesn’t want to rush a sequel to ‘The Batman’.
The 55-year-old director has helmed the hotly-anticipated superhero movie, which already has two sequels planned, but admits that he wants some time to reflect on the film before working on future installments.
Quizzed on his future plans by the Los Angeles Times, Matt said: “I think the first thing is a very long nap and here’s the thing, my feeling in doing the film was always that I would never treat it as a chapter one. Because chapter one assumes that there are more chapters.
“So what I wanted to do was to make this movie a satisfying experience so that people could experience a new fresh version of a character that the world has loved for over 80 years.”
Matt did suggest that he wants to make more Batman movies but will wait and see how audiences react to this project – which marks Robert Pattinson’s first appearance as the Caped Crusader.
The ‘Cloverfield’ filmmaker said: “I think that if we succeed on that front, I know that I have a lot of stories I want to tell, and then we’ll do chapter two, but not because we didn’t make this one a complete experience.
“Let’s just see what happens, let’s see the audience watch it. I hope they connect to it and if they do then yes there’s definitely more to do, and I will not be napping for too long!”
The main villain in the new blockbuster is The Riddler (played by Paul Dano) and Reeves has suggested that the character has “a terrorist aspect to him” as he wreaks havoc in Gotham City.
Matt explained: “He’s not just a serial killer. He definitely has a political agenda. There’s a terrorist aspect to him. He’s indicting the city for what it is. And one of the things he’s doing with each of these crimes is, he’s attacking the so-called legitimate pillars of the city.”

Stacey Dooley ‘thoroughly enjoyed’ living with nuns for new documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Dooley “thoroughly enjoyed” living with nuns for her new show.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ winner’s new programme ‘Stacey Dooley – Inside The Convent’ – which will debut on BBC One next month – tells what it is like to live a slower life among among the Sisters.
The 35-year-old documentary maker – who lives with her boyfriend, former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro Kevin Clifton – says she lives in a “constant sate of 21st-century busyness”, but she recently took a break from her hectic lifestyle to get to know the Sisters at the The Order of the Holy Paraclete Anglican Religious Community at St Hilda’s Priory in Whitby.
Stacey immersed herself in “their way of life” to see which aspects she might be able to adopt, ranging from singing and sharing meals.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I had wanted to film in a convent for a while, so was delighted when the Sisters at St Hilda’s invited us into their home, allowing us to truly witness and experience, first hand, their way of life.
“I really do believe it can be hugely beneficial, spending time with those you wouldn’t usually. It forces you to see things from an entirely different perspective.”
This comes after the ‘This is My House’ presenter recently spoke about one of her other shows, a cooking competition called ‘Hungry For It’, admitting she is “completely useless” in the kitchen.
She said: “I’ve just made a cooking show, ‘Hungry For It’ – it’s a really lovely series with 10 brilliant cooks, but not professional chefs.
“As you’ve learned, I’m completely useless when it comes to cooking and food, but my job was to look after the aspiring chefs and make sure they felt comfy.
“It can be quite high-pressured, can’t it? And you end up having such a soft spot for these people. You’re rooting for them because we know a TV show can totally change their life.”

Anna Karen dies in house fire

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Karen has died in a house fire.
The ‘EastEnders’ and ‘On The Buses’ actress was killed in a blaze at her home in Ilford, east London, on Tuesday (23.02.22) night.
Three fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called out to the blaze but were unable to save Anna, who died at the scene.
Witness Sivalai Pavananthakumar told The Sun newspaper: “There was a lot of smoke, and flames, and people in the street had seen what was happening and came out to try and help.
“The fire brigade and police were here quickly and kicked down the door, there was so much smoke.
“I recognised her and would see her everyday when I took my children to school, she was a nice old lady and always said hello.”
Another neighbour added: “I knew her from ‘EastEnders’, it was like having a celebrity living in the street, she was a lovely old lady and always spoke to everyone.”
Police confirmed the body of a woman had been found with formal identification still to come.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but early indications suggest it is not suspicious.
Anna – who was 85 – found fame after playing the role of Olive in the comedy ‘On The Buses’ and featured in all 74 episodes of the hit sitcom, which aired from 1969 to 1973.
She also made appearances in the series’ spin-off films such as ‘Mutiny on the Buses’ and ‘Holiday on the Buses’.
Anna also starred in ‘EastEnders’ as Aunt Sal – the sister of Dame Barbara Windsor’s character Peggy Mitchell – on a recurring basis between 1996 and 2017.

Zack Morris leaving EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Zack Morris is leaving ‘EastEnders’.
The 23-year-old star has played Keegan Butcher-Baker for the last five years, but his final scenes will air this spring as he departs Walford.
He said in a statement: “After five beautiful years on this incredible show, I have made the tough decision to leave Walford and give Keegan Butcher-Baker some well-earned rest.
“This show has quite frankly changed my life for the better. It will always hold a real loving place in my heart. The cast and crew of this show deserve every accolade that comes their way. The hard work, love and dedication that goes into making four episodes a week is immense and it’s not to be taken lightly.
“This show has given me so much, not just as an actor but as a man. These invaluable lessons I have learned at ‘EastEnders’ will stay with me for the rest of my life. I will forever see this whole experience as the biggest blessing I could have ever asked for. I loved every second.”
Kate Oates, Head of Continuing Drama at BBC Studios, admitted Zack and Keegan will both be missed, and she wished the actor well in the future.
She added: “Zack has been an incredible asset to ‘EastEnders’; not just as a brilliant actor, but as an amazing company member.
“As a founder member of the Taylor-Bakers, Zack has shone in important narratives such as the knife crime story; he’s broken hearts with his beautiful relationship with Tiffany Butcher; and is soon to take centre stage again as his sister’s killer is unmasked.
“We will miss Keegan from our screens, and Zack from our Elstree family. He’s a great talent, and we wish him well for the future.”

Sarah Greene finds love with Mike Smith’s pal

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Greene has found love with the close friend of her late husband Mike Smith.
The former ‘Going Live!’ presenter was left devastated with the ex-‘Top of the Pops’ host passed away from complications after heart surgery in 2014 but she is now in a relationship with Robb Gravett and credits her late spouse for bringing her and the former touring car champion together.
Sarah Greene has revealed she is in a relationship with a close pal of late hubby Mike Smith and says he “pulled the strings”.
She told the ‘My Time Capsule’ podcast: “I sort of know Mike is pulling so many strings in my life.
“He has undoubtedly been responsible for me meeting my beloved who was one of his oldest friends, who waited a certain amount of time but did keep leaving messages on the answering machine. I thought he was just being kind.
“Then I got a message almost saying ‘for God’s sake, Greeno, Robb is trying to make contact with you because he actually wants to take you out, not because he’s kind. So will you just get off your a*** and go and answer the phone next time it rings!’
“And lo and behold, a whole new conversation started. I’m sure, and Robb is very sure too, because it’s a very strange situation.”
The 64-year-old star was “terribly worried” about the idea of bringing a new partner back to her former marital home because it was filled with so many reminders of her late husband, who she had married in 1989.
She added: “I remember being terribly worried and saying to this dear man who I’d known for all these years ‘isn’t it strange coming into the house and seeing all these pictures everywhere of Mike?’
“He said ‘No, no, it’s not strange. It’d be strange if they weren’t there. And remember, I love him too.’”

Tyler Perry won’t rule out more Madea

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyler Perry won’t rule out more ‘Madea’ movies.
The 52-year-old star had retired his Mabel ‘Madea’ Earlene Simmons character after 2019’s ‘A Madea Family Funeral’ but after bringing her back for upcoming 12th movie, ‘A Madea Homecoming’, he’s now learned not to make any more big announcements about his comedy alter ego.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Listen, I thought it was over this last time. So, I’ve decided not to say anything. Just let it be.”
Tyler thinks it is “amazing” that the character is still so popular after such a long time.
He said: “It’s really amazing in a sense of twenty-something years seeing this character still rocking on. It means people are watching nostalgia for this grandmother.
“I’m really excited about that for people get to see it and laugh. Man, we need to laugh.”
In the film – which follows Madea as she tries to plan a party for her great-grandson only for family secrets to threaten to disrupt the event – Tyler also plays foul-mouthed Joe and was behind the camera as director but he insisted juggling so many different things just felt “normal”.
He said: “I’ve got some many different facets in my brain. Every one of them I know it’s probably for people watching the movie, but in real life it just seems normal.”
But his co-stars found it “intense” to see Tyler in action and were impressed at how easy he made it seem.
Brandon Black, who plays Tim, said: “He flows seamlessly between Uncle Joe, Madea, and Tyler Perry.
“He’s in full drag and a booming man voice is directing and telling people to move the camera this way and that way and then to a female voice, then back to a normal voice, then he’s right in there back to Madea.
“As the actor, you just kinda, like pause, as he’s directing because he’s going to go right back to you in the same shot,” Black noted. “He’s not gonna call cut. It’s intense, but it is really inspiring to see someone that good at all of their jobs.”
The producer had previously insisted it was time to “say goodbye” to the popular character after almost 20 years as he felt “tired”.
Speaking in October 2018, he laughed and said: “It’s time for me to kill that old b****, I’m tired, man! I’m tired.
“I just don’t want to be her age playing her. So, we’re going to say goodbye to her.”

Tom Brady to produce and star in American football movie 80 for Brady

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Brady is to produce and appear in a new American football-themed movie.
The 44-year-old NFL legend officially announced his retirement earlier this month, and he now looks set to join forces with Hollywood icons Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Sally Field, and Rita Moreno on road trip film ’80 for Brady’.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Pictures and Endeavor Content are making the motion picture, which will be directed by Kyle Marvin.
It will see Fonda, Tomlin, Field and Moreno playing four best pals and fans of NFL team the New England Patriots – who Brady used to play for – who go on a life-changing trip to the 2017 Super Bowl to see the iconic quarterback in action.
Brady is said to have been part of the film’s development alongside Donna Gigliotti and Endeavor Content.
The sports icon won a record seven Super Bowls during a glittering 22 seasons in the sport, and he confirmed his retirement on February 1st.
In a statement, Brady – who spent the last two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – wrote: “I have always believed that the sport of football is an ‘all-in’ preposition – if a 100 per cent competitive commitment isn’t there, you won’t succeed, and success is what I love so much about our game.
“There is a physical, mental, and emotional challenge EVERY single day that has allowed me to maximise my highest potential. And I have tried my very best these past 22 years. There are no shortcuts to success on the field or in life.
“This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.
“I’ve done a lot of reflecting the past week and have asked myself difficult questions. And I am so proud of what we have achieved. My teammates, coaches, fellow competitors, and fans deserve 100 per cent of me, but right now, it’s best I leave the field of play to the next generation of dedicated and committed athletes.”

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway drag performance hit with complaints

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant and Dec’s drag queen performance on ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ has been hit with complaints.
The co-hosts donned sparkly outfits and wigs on Saturday’s (19.02.22) episode for their End of the Show Show segment, but some viewers were less than impressed with the pair.
UK communications regulator Ofcom received 71 complaints about the episode, and 59 were related to the drag routine, in which the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ presenters called themselves Lady Antoinette and Miss Donna Lee.
Eight of the complaints were related to Ant and Dec’s pranking of Jeremy Clarkson on his Diddly Squat Farm.
However, their drag performance also sparked a mixed reaction online, with some questioning whether it was suitable for “a family show”.
One posted on Twitter: “Is this really acceptable for a family show, I have submitted a complaint as I don’t think it’s suitable and will confuse a lot of younger viewers (sic)”
Another wrote: “What the were Ant and Dec thinking of. Embarrassing for a family show. Way down in my estimation now”
But a number of viewers disagreed, and praised the performance.
One wrote: “no cause i can’t stop watching ant and dec doing drag like to have two huge presenters on prime time tv celebrating drag rather that ridiculing it is so special (sic)”
Another tweeted: “CAN WE PLZ TALK ABOUT ANT AND DEC IN DRAG???!!! INCREDIBLE #SaturdayNightTakeaway (sic)”
One posted: “All those complaining about Ant and Dec in drag and saying it is a family show – have you never gone to a pantomime?! (sic)”

James Moses Black joins Renfield cast

OHMYGOSSIP — James Moses Black has been added to the cast of ‘Renfield’.
The 59-year-old star is the latest addition to the Universal monster movie that is being directed by Chris McKay.
James joins an ensemble that includes Nicholas Hoult, Nicolas Cage, Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, Shoreh Aghdashloo and Bess Rouss.
The movie is based on an original story from Robert Kirkman – the co-creator of the TV series ‘The Walking Dead’ – and centres on Renfield (Hoult), who has grown sick and tired of his centuries as Dracula’s (Cage) servant.
The henchman gets a new lease of life when he falls for the feisty and perennially angry traffic cop Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina).
Ryan Ridley has penned the script for the movie – which is shooting in New Orleans – with McKay producing with Skybound Entertainment. His producing partner Samantha Nisenboim is serving as an executive producer.
Cage recently revealed how he spent time studying previous Dracula performances before beginning work on the film.
The 58-year-old actor said: “I can tell you that it’s amazing. It’s a really fun and exciting opportunity. I looked at Bela Lugosi’s performance, and then I looked at Frank Langella’s performance. I looked at Gary [Oldman]’s performance in uncle’s [Francis Ford Coppola] movie, which I think it’s just so sumptuous. Every frame is a work of art.”
Despite taking inspiration from past works, Nicolas believes that ‘Renfield’ will be a unique film.
He said: “I want it to pop in a unique way from how we’ve seen it played. So I’m thinking to really focus on the movement of the character. You know, I saw ‘Malignant’ and I thought what she did with those moves — and even ‘Ringu’ with Sadako [Yamamura] … I want to look at what we can explore with this movement and voice.”

Shawn Levy keen to make Free Guy sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Shawn Levy wants to make a ‘Free Guy’ sequel.
The 53-year-old director has reunited with star Ryan Reynolds for the time-travel movie ‘The Adam Project’ and has revealed that he would like to work on a follow-up to last year’s video game-set movie if he gets the opportunity.
Shawn told Collider: “We loved ‘Free Guy’. We were thrilled that ‘Free Guy’ was as successful as it was, and particularly as an original movie at a time where few get made and even fewer are hits. So that was gratifying.
“And if we can crack that sequel, that’s something that might be very fun to make together.”
‘Free Guy’ – which also starred Jodie Comer and Taika Waititi – was one of the most successful movies to be released amid the coronavirus pandemic and Shawn confirmed that Disney have shown interest in a sequel.
The ‘Night at the Museum’ director said: “I’ve definitely gotten that phone call. I’ve gotten a few of those in the past several months. So there is definitely real interest there.”
The filmmaker also confirmed that both he and Ryan are aware of how difficult it is to make a successful sequel.
Shawn explained: “We had such a clear idea of the tone, the story, the details of ‘Free Guy’, and we both made a few sequels in our lives, and so we know how hard it is to make a worthy one. And when we feel confident that’s the kind we’ll make, then we’ll make it.”
Ryan admits that he “adores” working with the filmmaker and hopes to make as many movies as possible with him.
He said: “I just adore working with Shawn, and I hope that I get to make you as many movies as humanly possible. As many as I’m allowed to make, I hope they’re with Shawn.”

Jonathan Ross was asked on a date by mystery Hollywood actor

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonathan Ross was once asked out on a date by a Hollywood actor.
‘The Masked Singer’ judge revealed he and the anonymous star hit it off due to sharing a love of Spanish cinema while appearing on comic Alan Carr’s ‘Life’s A Beach’ podcast
The 61-year-old talk show host told the 45-year-old stand up: “I think he was someone who always swung in each direction, but Hollywood being what it was, he wasn’t out there.”
“He asked me on a date because we were discussing Pedro Almodovar – a brilliant director and an openly gay man. And I think it was my love and knowledge of foreign films, particular his genre, his canon of work, that made him think I was up for a little bit of action. Maybe I should have gone. It would have been a marvellous anecdote, and it might have been a nice evening out.”
After hearing the individual’s name off air, Alan said: “I never would have had him on the gay list!”
During the podcast conversation, Alan revealed that that he, Jonathan and retired England footballer Paul Gascoigne are all related.
Alan – whose dad is former Northampton Town manager and Newcastle United chief scout Graham Carr – said: “People might not know this, but your lovely late mum came up to me at your Halloween party and said, ‘We are related aren’t we’. Do you remember?
“I was so excited because we come from the same area, we are distantly related. I remember going over to you saying, ‘Jonathan, Jonathan, your mum says we’re related,’ and you went, ‘For f*** sake.'”
While laughing, Jonathan – who married to screenwriter Jane Goldman, the mother of his three kids, Betty, 30, Harvey, 27, and Honey Kinney, 25, – quipped: “I tried to stop her talking to people because she’d always find some famous connection.”
Alan said: “It’s quite a strong link.”
Jonathan then laughed: “Is it really? I don’t know if I want to involved with you.”
To which, Alan joked: “What? F*** you!”
Jonathan then mocked Alan for having a deserter in his family, saying: “I saw your episode of ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ and you’ve got a deserter in your family. I don’t know if I want to be tarnished by that.
“We are related – I forget that.”

Jeff Fowler teases game references in Sonic the Hedgehog 2

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeff Fowler has revealed that fans can expect plenty of video game references in ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’.
The director is helming the upcoming sequel to the movie based on the famous video game franchise, which will feature the introduction of supporting characters Knuckles and Tails (played by Idris Elba and Colleen O’Shaughnessey respectively), and suggested that fans of the games should keep their eyes peeled during the film.
Jeff told IGN: “(There were) all kinds of (Easter eggs). One of them was in the trailer, of course, the biplane. It’s such an iconic visual from ‘Sonic 2’.
“So as we were setting out to plot ‘Sonic 2’, I think we all got excited to pull in that great imagery that all of the fans are going to get excited about when they see it on the big screen and create a cinematic version of the stuff that fans have loved from ‘Sonic 1 and 2’.”
Fowler added: “It’s a great problem to have that there’s so many great Easter eggs that we can incorporate, this movie is chock full of them. I couldn’t even begin to list them because there’s so much stuff for fans to get excited about.”
The ‘Sonic’ sequel will be released in April and a third movie and a live-action spin-off show are both in development.
Producer Neal H. Moritz said: “The world of Sonic the Hedgehog has been capturing imaginations for decades, and we are thrilled to stretch the limits of what this franchise is capable of with world-class offerings both on the big screen and for Sonic fans at home.
“The sky is truly the limit, and I am immensely proud to be part of creating new Sonic content for longtime fans as well as introducing Sonic to a new generation.”

Colin Farrell wasn’t allowed to smoke during the making of The Batman

OHMYGOSSIP — Colin Farrell was prevented from smoking on the set of ‘The Batman’.
The 45-year-old character portrays Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin in Matt Reeves’ eagerly-awaited new take on the Caped Crusader but revealed that he wasn’t allowed to light up by film bosses as he is playing a younger version of the villain.
Colin told Jake’s Takes: “I fought valiantly for a cigar, I even said at one stage, ‘Can I have it unlit?’, and they were like no.
“The Oz that we meet hasn’t embodied the energy of the Penguin that we recognise from the source comics and from previous films, so I’ll see if it goes again.”
The ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ star also suggested that The Penguin is a role he would like to keep and play going forward in future movies.
Colin said: “I’d love to explore it because he’s not an underboss, he’s not a boss, he’s just a soldier of Falcone at this stage. But he has great ambition and dreams of doing big things.”
Farrell previously revealed that his take was inspired by Fredo Corleone in ‘The Godfather’ as both characters feel as if they are “underestimated”.
He said: “There’s a touch of John Cazale as Fredo in ‘The Godfather’. He’s a mid-level mobster guy and he’s got a bit of showmanship to him, but you can see that he wants more and that he’s been underestimated. He’s ready to make his move.”
Colin has suggested that he only feature in a handful of scenes during the film, which sees Robert Pattinson make his debut as the iconic superhero.
The star shared: “I’m only it for five or six scenes, so I can’t wait to see the film because it won’t be ruined by my presence. Really, it’s a freebie to me.
“I’ll get a little bit uncomfortable for the f****** nine minutes I have, and then the rest of it, I cannot wait to see how he (Reeves) brought this world to life.”
