OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Trigger Point’ has been recommissioned by ITV for a second season.
The broadcaster confirmed the shows renewal after its explosive finale on Sunday night (27.02.22).
‘Line Of Duty’ star Vicky McClure will be reprising her role as London’s Met explosive expert, Lana Washington, in Jed Mercurio’s bomb disposal drama.
The second six-part series, which plot has been kept under wraps, will be back on ITV’s network in 2023.
‘Trigger Point’ debuted a strong reception from fans having been seen by 11 million viewers. It also surged a huge interest in counter-terrorism careers.
Mercurio – who is the mastermind behind police corruption drama ‘Line Of Duty’ – said in a statement that he was “thrilled” by the success of the show.
He said: “Everyone at HTM Television is thrilled by the success of ‘Trigger Point’.
“Thanks to all our brilliant cast and crew, and especially to the viewers who watched in such large numbers.
“We’ve received unswerving support from ITV throughout the production and we are delighted to have been commissioned for a second series.”
‘Trigger Point’ writer Daniel Brierley added: “I’m honoured and excited to be given the chance to continue Lana’s story. I feel there’s many more twists and turns in her future. It’s been thrilling to see how the public have responded to our show and I can’t wait to see what they will make of the next instalment!”
ITV have said that the drama is currently averaging 9.24 million views for episodes 1-4 on BritBox, ITV and ITV Hub and the first episode of the series has been watched by nearly 11 million viewers.
Polly Hill, head of ITV Drama, said: “I am so delighted to see ‘Trigger Point’ return. Vicky is stunning as Lana and it’s brilliantly produced by Jed and HTM, but I also want to congratulate Daniel for his scripts. To have held the audience in a state of tension for 6 hours so brilliantly, you can’t believe it’s his first show. I can’t wait to see where series two takes Lana and her team.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Claudia Winkleman is mistaken by fans for Davina McCall.
The brunette TV presenter, who sports a front fringe hairstyle exactly like Davina, says that members of the public often confuse her for the former ‘Big Brother’ host.
Claudia told the ‘Postcards from Midlife’ podcast: “I was recognised once in a Foyles book shop, somebody came up to me and went, ‘Oh my god, I’m so pleased I’ve met you! Can you just sign this?’ And I said, ‘Of course’. And they went, ‘Thanks, Davina’.”
The 50-year-old media personality previously admitted that she has pretended to be Davina, 54, as she didn’t want to disappoint members of the public who think they have met her TV contemporary.
Claudia said: “I have resigned myself to getting mistaken for Davina McCall, and I don’t want to upset people so pretend I’m her.”
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ host previously suggested that her appearance is the “least interesting thing” about her and would prefer to be admired for her personality and talents.
Winkleman said: “I was brought up in a house without mirrors, so my mum is a huge believer – and my dad – in the shell is only that … What I look like, how I’ve done my eyeliner – that’s not the shiz, the stuff is the inside, the chat, the brains, the laughs, the loyalty, the kindness, the cooking an extraordinary roast chicken. What you look like is the least interesting thing about you, it’s got to be, because it is all going to fall apart, and I hope I’ve passed that onto my kids as well.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Peaky Blinders’ has dedicated the first episode of its final series to the late actress Helen McCrory.
The actress started as the Shelby family matriarch Polly Gray in the BBC One drama but tragically passed away from cancer last year aged 52.
Gray’s absence was written into the plotline of the opening episode of the latest series, with news of her off-screen passing having a significant impact on the gangster family.
The closing credits included a tribute to “the memory of Helen McCrory OBE”.
The show’s creator Steven Knight had described Helen’s loss as a tragedy at the series’ premiere in Birmingham last week.
He said: “After she’d gone we knew she wanted this thing to continue and we hope we have continued in a respectful and appropriate way and moving forward she will always be a part of Peaky.”
Cillian Murphy, who plays the lead character Tommy Shelby, recently insisted that the presence of Helen’s character is still “very much felt” during the series.
The 45-year-old actor said: “I think the whole series is really in tribute to her and to honour her. Her presence and her character’s presence are very much still felt in the series, and it is very much part of Tommy’s journey in the season.
“It’ll be different without her, you know. It simply won’t be the same. I’ve spoken about how phenomenal she was as an actress and as a person and it is an enormous loss to the whole acting community and not just for our show.
“My thoughts are always with Damian [Lewis] and her kids. I just hope that the show will live up to her memory and our memory of her.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Arlene Phillips thinks Oti Mabuse was right to quit ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ to pursue other projects.
The former musical theatre choreographer – who previously appeared as a judge on BBC ballroom favourite – supported Oti’s decision to exit the show as a professional dancer after her debut as a judge on ITV’s rival show ‘Dancing On Ice’ as she believes the star has outgrown the show.
Arlene, 78, told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It absolutely is the right time now for Oti to leave.
“She won’t just jump and do things because they are there.
“She will choose the career she wants. Oti is now in the right time and at the right place.
“Her career is flourishing and it should do. She is amazing and she has an amazing personality.
“She is funny and works, works, works. I say congratulations, Oti. The world is now her oyster.
“Hard work pays off in the end. You have got to put the years in…you have to take the s*** jobs to build up.”
Oti, 31, confirmed her departure from the programme last week and she is set to be replaced by Polish professional Jowita Pryzstal.
She wrote on Instagram: “Never easy to say goodbye. I have been part of the most amazing TV show, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for the past seven years and it has been an incredible time.
“Lifting the glitterball twice and having the best journey with all my celebrities, but also meeting and working with the best team, crew, producers, celebs and incredible professional dancers! You are my family and I adore you all forever.”
The South African star – who has also served as a judge on talent shows like BBC One’s ‘The Greatest Dancer’ and ITV’s ‘The Masked Dancer’ – is also getting ready to host ITV’s new dating show called ‘Romeo and Duet’ which is set to air later on this year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Deborah Meaden is launching a new eco podcast.
The 63-year-old ‘Dragons’ Den’ investor and entrepreneur, is preparing for her next business venture as she’s set to host eco-friendly podcast ‘The Big Green Money Show’.
The first episode of the podcast will air on BBC Sounds this Friday (04.03.2022) and Deborah will be talking to some of the world’s biggest business names about climate change.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “I am going to have CEOs on from big companies talking about the environment and how we can be more eco-friendly.
“I will be doing the interviewing, but the purpose is to make it light-hearted. I wanted to do this to make a difference.”
Deborah will not be turning her back on ‘Dragon’s Den’ despite the new podcast venture with filming for the new series set to begin in April.
The businesswoman previously revealed that she loves seeing the ingenuity of British entrepreneurs at work during the making of the show.
Deborah said: “I love the ingenuity of British entrepreneurs. Every year I think I’ve probably seen it all and every year they prove to me there are still plenty of opportunities to go for and that is the life blood of British business.”
Meaden also encouraged hopefuls to enter the Den with an open mind if they appear on the programme.
She said: “If you’re looking for investment you’ve got to think about what the investor gets from being involved with your business. A lot of people think about what they’re getting from their point of view but not about what the investor gets out of a deal.
“Also you need to think about who is the right investor but don’t make your mind up before you come into the Den because you have never met us. It isn’t until you get into the Den that you see who we are and what questions we ask.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Louise Thompson is starting to see “a glimmer of hope” as she battles depression, severe anxiety, avoidance and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following the birth of her son.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star spent five weeks in intensive care after giving birth to 15-week-old son Leo – who she shares with partner Ryan Libbey – and she has now bravely opened up about how mental health has “gripped [her]”, including being “too scared” to look after her boy in case her anxiety is triggered.
In a lengthy Instagram post, she wrote: “Where the hell have the last three months gone? Leo turns 15 weeks today and my brain can’t comprehend it. The last time I properly opened up about my trauma was on the 15th of January and I haven’t felt strong enough to talk about it since. If I could use a few words to describe the past month they would be: SCARED, CONFUSED, PARALYSED, AND TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL.
My brain keeps deleting memories in order to try and protect itself and it’s so scary. Trauma and fear have no understanding of time. I remember a therapist told me that a few months ago and I didn’t understand what she meant. Now I do. Extremely scary circumstances get trapped in your brain as a fight or flight response and they don’t get processed like other memories. They don’t leave with time. They get trapped in your subconscious.
“To be honest I’ve been too scared to post about how I’m feeling because I’m not even close to feeling like a normal person yet. I remember when I first posted about PTSD I got really triggered by comments saying it could take 6/9 months to process and I HATED hearing that. I stopped reading everything. I’ve had to block out any health related content to protect myself. Now I have come to terms with the fact that my life might never be the same again, but things honestly can’t get any worse than they’ve been over the past month so hopefully i’m at the beginning of my actual recovery. I have had to learn an incredible amount of patience (something I never ever had before). Perhaps one of the only good things to come out of this? The only other thing that might be beneficial one day (remarkable that i’ve even reached a point where I can think about my future) is that I might be able to help encourage other people to keep on going. DON’T GIVE UP. JUST KEEP LIVING. ONE MORE DAY.
I thought that living in hospital for a month was the worst time of my life. Wow I was wrong. I had control over my mind then.
Something happened about a month ago where my mind and body came crashing down in tandem. I guess I had been in self preservation mode/survival mode up until that point. Then the real mental health hell began.
It’s very hard to describe in words what I’ve been going through but I have buckets and buckets of notes I’ve written to myself which I will look back on when I’m feeling better or at least a bit more like ‘Louise’. (sic)”
The 31-year-old star then detailed some of the ways her mental health has been affected, such as battling a phobia of her fridge and bathtub, wearing the same clothes every day for a month, and not being able to leave the house for two weeks.
Louise – who was left shaken in October after a devastating house fire ripped through her mother’s home – admits she now “understands trauma”, but she is on the road to recovery and has encouraged others not to be “too proud” to ask for help.
She added: “Honestly i’ve been at a level of rock bottom that I never knew existed. I never understood suffering or suicide before.
I have learnt a lot over the past 1/2 year. I used to watch fires on tv and not relate, now I understand the trauma. I used to hear about ptsd after war or abuse, now I understand the trauma. It is not as easy as ‘you survived the past, so now you live’.
I wanted to finish this post with something a tiny bit positive. I am starting to see a glimmer of hope. I have quite a lot of people, processes and medication to thank for that. I will share more as I start to feel a bit more compos mentis. What I want to remind anyone that is suffering is to KEEP BLOODY GOING. It can and will get better. Crisis teams and medication can help. Don’t be too proud to ask for HELP. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Stevie Basaula is to depart ‘EastEnders’.
The Isaac Baptiste actor is leaving the role after two years of playing Patrick Trueman’s (Rudolph Walker) son, and the soap’s boss Kate Oates admitted the show will “miss” Stevie.
She said in a statement: “Stevie has been a huge asset to ‘EastEnders’ during his time here; not least through his incredible performance across Isaac’s schizophrenia story.
“As a member of the Trueman family, he will always be a part of one of our most iconic families. We will miss him, and wish him well in his new ventures.”
Stevie admitted ‘EastEnders’ has been an “essential part” of his growth as a man and an actor.
He added: “What a dream come true! Grateful to have spent over two years on one of the biggest shows in the country, there’s nothing like it.
“Thank you for everything you’ve given me. I’ve learnt so much during my time and I’m proud to have been a part of some important work and to have made friends and memories that I’ll cherish for a long time.
“‘EastEnders’ has been an essential part of my growth both as a young man and an actor, and I’m now excited and feel ready to explore this next chapter of my career.”
‘EastEnders’ previously teamed up with mental health charity Mind for guidance on Isaac’s schizophrenia storyline.
The teacher was diagnosed with schizophrenia years ago before he turned up in Walford, but last year viewers saw he had stopped taking his medication, and he later dealt with stigmatising views from friends and family about he managed his mental health on a daily basis.
Stevie said at the time: “This is close to my heart, to be telling Isaac’s story is a privilege.
“I hope it will start a dialogue for people to have conversations about mental health and that anyone living with the condition will feel seen.
“Working with Mind has been so useful, I spoke to a young man who bravely shared his story and it was inspiring to learn how he’s managing his condition.
“There’s so much we think we know about schizophrenia, but it’s often not the reality for people living with the condition.
“I hope that anyone engaging with Isaac’s story will gain a better understanding and can approach someone they know that may be struggling from a more positive place.”
News of his exit comes after it was revealed last week that Zack Morris (Keegan Butcher-Baker) will also be leaving the show, and Danny Dyer is to depart his role of Mick Carter later this year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly-Mae Hague claims she has “a full beard” after having a dermaplaning facial.
The former ‘Love Island’ star – who is dating fellow Islander and boxer Tommy Fury – has admitted she regrets having the treatment to remove peach fuzz done because it makes the hairs grow back rapidly.
The 22-year-old beauty said in a make-up tutorial video on YouTube: “If you guys can see that I do have a little bit of a beard, we’re not talking about it.
“I need to speak to you guys about my battle with dermaplaning – and I wish I never got dermaplaning.
“I basically have a full beard now.”
She continued: “It’s a type of facial, or you could actually do it yourself with a type of razor but I had a dermaplaning facial, where they remove the peach fuzz from your face to make your face so baby smooth and so soft.
“Basically with the dermaplaning, I got into the habit of having a dermaplaning facial and my peach fuzz just grows back at rapid levels now.
“It was meant to sort of prevent it from growing back and mean that it would grow back less or something, but with any hair removal, like when you shave your legs, it means you have to start shaving them more, when you start shaving your arm pits like when you’re a younger girl, early teens, it means you have to always shave them.”
The PrettyLittleThing creative director confessed that she is not one to stick to beauty treatments, which is why it’s such an inconvenience.
She added: “It’s just one of those things, when you start doing it you can’t really stop.
“So yeah you could say I wish I never started the dermaplaning because I’m not the sort of person who keeps up regularly with my beauty treatments.”

The couple – who met on ‘The Only Way is Essex’ – have been together for eight years and Tommy finally popped the question during a romantic getaway to Mexico.
Tommy – who has baby son Brody with the brunette beauty – had a semicircle of roses and candles laid out for his now-fiancee as he asked for her hand in marriage in a hut on the beach.
Sharing snaps from the proposal on Instagram, the reality star quipped: “Now stop asking me when I’m gonna do it.”
The 30-year-old star captioned her own post on the social media app: “OF COURSE I SAID YES.”
The pair were joined by little Brody, who was born in May 2021, as Tommy got down on one knee.
Tommy and Georgia documented their journey to parenthood on the ITVBe series ‘Georgia Tommy Baby Steps’, which is returning for a second series.
The pair made the announcement on Instagram this month.
In a video, Tommy said: “They just went and gave us six more episodes, hahaha.”
Georgia added: “Six episodes! ‘Baby Steps’ is back! We are so excited. ”
She continued: “Look how old Brody is, I can’t do it!
“Many thanks to everyone who got involved last time. This would not have been possible if it were not for you!
“Thank you very much for your love and support and we can’t wait to go back.”
Announcing her pregnancy, Georgia wrote at the time: “WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!! MAY 2021
