Helen Mirren ‘begged’ Vin Diesel to get her a part in Fast and Furious

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Helen Mirren “begged” Vin Diesel to give her a role in ‘Fast and Furious’.
The 76-year-old screen legend loves driving and pleaded with the 54-year-old actor – who plays Dominic Toretto in the blockbuster action franchise – to help her nab a part.
Mirren told The Hollywood Reporter: “I didn’t ask, I begged! I think I was at some function, and he was there, and I got introduced to him. And I was shameless: ‘Oh God, I’d just love to be in one of your movies! Please let me be in it.’
“And then Vin, with that beautiful, deep voice of his, said: ‘I’ll see what I can do.’ And he did it for me. He found this great little role for me, which was perfect. I’d just never done anything like that before — one of those big, big movies. And, in my vanity, I just loved driving and really wanted to do my own driving in a fast car.”
The ‘Good Liar’ star made her debut in 2017’s ‘The Fate of the Furious’ as Queenie, the mother of Deckard, Owen, and Hattie Shaw, and went on to star in 2019’s spin-off ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ as well as ‘F9’.
It’s not the first time Mirren has gushed over Vin’s “beautiful voice”.
She said last year of working with him: “You’re in very safe and loving hands when you’re in a ‘Fast and Furious’. It was just great to be in a very small space with Vin Diesel for quite a long time. I just loved every minute.
“It was great, hearing that beautiful, soft brown velvet voice really, really close, because we were squished together. Oh, I just so love his voice. He’s got the best voice ever.”
On their close bond, she added: “That’s completely natural chemistry. It was there right from the very beginning of my first meeting with Vin.
“And I just adored him immediately, and he’s always been so kind and lovely to me. So it was there right from the beginning, and it is very weird. It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever on any level, but that’s the weird thing about chemistry, isn’t it? There’s never an explanation for it. It’s just one of those things that happens.”

Emma Willis is hopeful Big Brother will return to the UK

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Willis is hopeful that ‘Big Brother’ will return to the UK one day.
The 45-year-old TV star presented ‘Big Brother’ and ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ between 2013 and 2018, as well as the spin-off series ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’ between 2011 and 2015, and like Rylan Clark, who won the 2013 celebrity series and also hosted ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’, Emma would love to see the reality show back on air.
She told Metro.co.uk: “Everybody wants it back!
“I think it will come back when it’s ready, maybe it’s not ready yet.
“If you’re gonna do it again, you’ve got to do it fantastically well.
She added: “Hopefully, there’s somebody beavering away somewhere that is coming up with an amazing plan for it, but I don’t know anything about it if they are!”
The last UK series aired in 2018, but an Australian spin-off of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ was made available on E4 this month.
The news prompted Rylan to tweet: “Amazing news…… NOW BRING OURS BACK.”
The 33-year-old star, who also presented the main series of ‘CBB’, urged for the return of the popular programme when the UK was plunged into a third coronavirus pandemic lockdown in 2021.
He wrote on Twitter at the time: “Surely now is the time we all need a bit of Celebrity Big Brother (sic)”
The former ‘Supermarket Sweep’ host had previously called for ‘Big Brother’ to be picked up by the likes of streaming services Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.
Speaking in August 2019, he said: “People like watching TV when they want to watch TV, and you could certainly do ‘Big Brother’ like that.
“Every day a new episode could drop with the 24-hour highlights of the day before, then every Friday at 9pm you could log into your account and watch the eviction live. The technology is there with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
“There’ll never be another ‘Big Brother’. There’s only one ‘Big Brother’. You can dress up all these other shows all you want but there’s only one.
“It was the only reality show left that was real. You know producers wouldn’t be going in there and telling people what to do.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Fern Britton says it’s “embarrassing” how TV presenters ask viewers to vote for them to win a National Television Award.
The former ‘This Morning’ host admits it’s cringe-worthy to see hosts “canvassing” for a “silly little statue”.
Speaking on ‘White Wine Question Time’, she said: “The very important thing, as well as to be a real presenter, in terms of ‘Loose Women’, ‘This Morning’, those kind of shows, is you are not the star.
“The person, the story, is the star. I always wanted every guest to be comfortable to know that that story had been told. They’ve been able to tell their story properly, fully, been listened to and heard.
“That was the most important thing and is the most important thing. I couldn’t bear it then, I can’t bear it now, when all the programmes for the National Television Awards, they’re all: ‘Oh, you must vote for us. vote for us, vote for us.’
“You think: How embarrassing is that? I couldn’t bear to do that. People are gonna vote for you if they like you or not. I’m not canvassing, we’re not prime minister. It’s just to get a silly statue … like this!”
Fern was given an NTA after Richard and Judy left ‘This Morning’ and keeps it on her shelf.
Host Kate Thornton said: “You’ve literally repurposed it, that’s brilliant! You’re so right, for all the times that we won NTAs or BAFTAs on the shows that I worked on, I haven’t got a single one.
“Why would I? It was for the show, but it would be nice to have something to reflect your involvement. You’re quite right. Well stolen my friend!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sally Dynevor has never felt as “sexy” as she does on ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The 58-year-old actress – who is partnered by Matt Evers on the skating show – admitted the glamorous costumes she wears in the competition are nothing like her daily wardrobe but she’s “secretly” loving the outlandish outfits.
She said: “The first time you see yourself in hair pieces and fishnet tights, it’s a bit like, ‘Oh my God, who is that?’’
“It’s so not me, I’m such a boy dresser, I’m in jeans every day, I don’t even wear dresses, so for me, it’s massive to go into these little sparkly things, but it’s great!
“I’ve never felt as sexy as I do when I’ve got those hair pieces in , the fishnet tights and the sequins on!
“How brilliant, 50-odd and you’re turning into a little diva! I’m secretly getting used to it.
And Sally joked she’ll even ask ‘Coronation Street’ bosses to give her character, Sally Metcalfe, a wardrobe revamp as a result.
She added to the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “I might have to ask ‘Corrie’ to write in a few scenes with me wearing hair extensions and fishnet tights.
“Wouldn’t that be great? I’d absolutely love that!”
Last week saw Sally and Matt in the skate-off for the first time, but she wasn’t upset to find herself in the bottom two.
She said: “For me, I’m not competing. I’m never going to be the best, I’m just going to try my best. That’s the reason I’m doing it. I’m certainly not very competitive. I never have been so I’m just doing it for fun.
“When I come out of the show that will be amazing, I’ll be really happy I have done it for as long as I have.”
Sunday’s (27.02.22) show will see the pair tasked to incorporate a salon chair into their routine as part of Prop Week, and they’ve also enlisted the help of Sally’s ‘Corrie’ co-star, former ‘Dancing On Ice’ contestant Antony Cotton.

The Voice ditches live shows

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Voice’ has ditched its live episodes.
The singing competition is set to return to ITV in the coming months but host Emma Willis and coaches will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs and Anne-Marie have already filmed every stage of the show, including the final.
A source confirmed: “Everything has been filmed. It was all done by mid-February.”
The surprise move will have saved producers a lot of money because live TV is often expensive.
The insider added to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “Live shows are very expensive to do. Pre-recording episodes is a much cheaper way of making TV.
“Lots of big shows are all pre-recorded in full — ‘The Masked Singer’, ‘Starstruck’, ‘Bake Off’ and ‘Drag Race’ are some of them.
“The days of super-expensive ‘X Factor’-style live shows every weekend throughout the autumn are long gone.”
The decision to pre-record all episodes also means any coronavirus restrictions that are brought in won’t derail the broadcast schedule for the show.
However, there are concerns that the result may leak online even though measures were taken to keep numbers limited when it came to announcing the winner during filming.
An ITV source said: “It’s a big worry that the result will be leaked on social media. If that happens it will cause a major headache.
“A lot of viewers won’t bother to tune in if they know who wins.”
Last year, Anne-Marie mentored Craig Eddie to victory and he previously praised her for giving him good advice.
He said: “I think I got too fixated on getting through to the next stage and I got to the point where I probably wasn’t enjoying it as much as I could.
“So she [Anne-Marie] told me to just look around, to take everything in and to enjoy the experience.”

Maggie Gyllenhaal honoured at Scripties

OHMYGOSSIP — Maggie Gyllenhaal won the USC Libraries’ Scripter Award on Saturday (26.02.22) night.
The 44-year-old star scooped the coveted accolade for her adaptation of Netflix’s ‘The Lost Daughter’, which is based on the novel of the same name by Elena Ferrante.
Maggie said: ““This award means so much for me because it is chosen and voted for by writers.
“Thank you for welcoming me so generously into your community. I know you are honouring my work and Elena Ferrante.”
The actress-and-director hailed the author as her “north star” for the project and said Elena had been a “truly wise and generous guide”, even though they have never met.
She added: “She has been the North Star for me in my adaptation of the film from start to finish; she has been a truly wise and generous guide. Ferrante said the effort of adaptation requires not faithfulness but invention and often betrayal.
“In my betrayal, she and I have made something new together. It’s a love affair of the mind. It’s a cosmic, unconscious, dreamlike connection that I cherish.”
The accolade will now likely make Maggie favourite to take home the Best Adapted Screenplay honour at the upcoming Academy Awards as the Scripters are usually seen as a good measure of who will go on to enjoy Oscars success.
Danny Strong won the TV award for his work on the ‘Dopesick’ episode ‘The People Vs. Purdue Pharma’ and praised Hulu for taking a chance on the story of the OxyCotin epidemic, which is based on Beth Macy’s non-fiction work ‘Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company that Addicted America’.
He said as he accepted the award: “Nobody wanted to make the show. We got passed on by everyone but Hulu.”
‘The Underground Railroad’ filmmaker Barry Jenkins was honoured with the USC Libraries Literary Achievement Award for his contributions to cinematic storytelling, including his work on 2017 Scripter winner ‘Moonlight’ and 2019’s shortlisted ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’.
Both the original writers and those who adapted their material into scripts are honoured at the awards.

The Batman star Paul Dano read up on serial killers for Ridder role

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Dano researched “serial killers” for his version of The Riddler.
The 37-year-old actor plays the iconic comic book villain in filmmaker Matt Reeves’ blockbuster ‘The Batman’, and the director has opened up about using the Zodiak Killer as inspiration for the character.
Paul told SFX magazine: “That was a reference point Matt gave me, and I read quite a bit about serial killers in general, which wasn’t light reading.
“I found that, actually, it was a little challenging to go to the coffee shop and read. I needed more friendly surroundings to read that stuff.
“But I actually found, then, going to Matt’s script, that that reference only took me so far. On behalf of the character, I felt like his sense of purpose and intention was much greater and deeper.”
Dano noted the foundation for his character was rooted in the script penned by Matt Reeves and Peter Craig – while Mattson Tomlin also contributed.
He explained: “There’s a reason why Batman, and why Gotham, has resonated for so long and why it can keep being reinterpreted. But it really starts with something that’s not general. And luckily, this script was highly specific.
“The point of view was really clear and from there, we hopefully build our versions of these characters.
“So, it’s not coming from some familiarised idea of what the Riddler might be. It’s coming from the character on the page and investigating who he is and why he’s there.”
On the development of his character, the actor made sure to delve into who Edward Nygma – the Riddler himself – is as a person.
He asked himself: “What’s the nature and nurture elements of this? How did he get to this place?
“That was a really big part of the development of the character for me and, luckily, what Matt wanted out of this was something that was not only epic in scope and lived up to Gotham and the comics and the archetype, but something that was really grounded and deeply personal and deeply emotional.”

Maisie Smith making return to EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Maisie Smith is making a return to ‘EastEnders’.
The 20-year-old actress was last seen as Tiffany Butcher – a role she landed when she was just six years old – in Albert Square in December but she’s agreed to return for a cameo appearance as part of Zack Morris’ exit storyline as her alter ego’s ex-husband Keegan Baker.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Bosses felt Tiffany had unfinished business with Keegan that needed a resolution before he left.
“So they decided to ask her back for one episode. Viewers will have to wait to see if they manage to fix their relationship or whether the bad blood that we’ve seen between them continues.”
Maisie announced she was leaving the show in October and the lead-up to her exit saw Keegan cheat on Tiffany with Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero).
Announcing her departure at the time, she said: “It’s time to say farewell to Tiff.
“I’ve grown up on ‘EastEnders’ since 2008, and have learned from the best.”
Zack confirmed earlier this week he was walking away from Walford after five years.
He said in a statement: “After five beautiful years on this incredible show, I have made the tough decision to leave Walford and give Keegan Butcher-Baker some well-earned rest.
“This show has quite frankly changed my life for the better. It will always hold a real loving place in my heart. The cast and crew of this show deserve every accolade that comes their way. The hard work, love and dedication that goes into making four episodes a week is immense and it’s not to be taken lightly.
“This show has given me so much, not just as an actor but as a man. These invaluable lessons I have learned at ‘EastEnders’ will stay with me for the rest of my life. I will forever see this whole experience as the biggest blessing I could have ever asked for. I loved every second.”

Jordan North grateful for I’m A Celebrity… lessons

OHMYGOSSIP — Jordan North thinks ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ was good preparation for his upcoming 100-mile rowing challenge.
The 32-year-old DJ is to undergo a five-day fundraiser for Comic Relief from Monday (28.02.22) and though he had never rowed before he started training six weeks ago, he admitted his stint on the reality show two years ago has given him the belief he can do anything.
Jordan – who will row from London to his home town of Burnley – told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “If it wasn’t for ‘I’m a Celeb’ I probably wouldn’t have done this. That show was the best thing I ever did.
“It gave me a new lease of life. If I can get in a coffin full of snakes, I can do anything.
“This is definitely harder, physically, but there’s no snake involved, so it’s not as scary.
“I’ve probably never been as committed to anything – so I will give it my all.”
However, Jordan admitted things haven’t gone smoothly during his training and he thought he was a “goner” during one incident.
He said: “I nearly capsized earlier this week. And I spent the first few sessions rowing around in circles.
“We’re just down the river from the crew who train from the Oxford and Cambridge Rowing team. One session they suddenly appeared and I could see this guy on a megaphone shouting to me to ‘Move! Move!’
“I was in the middle of the water flapping around and I honestly thought they were going to crash into me.
“I thought I was a goner! I managed to just get out the way but then got dirty looks from these big lads.”
The training has also left the star battered and bruised.
He admitted: “I feel like an old man most days. I’m aching so much I’m making noises like my dad! My hands are covered in blisters too. I’ve been given a rowing machine so I can practise at home but it’s in my bedroom – and every time I go to the toilet I stub my foot on it.”

Samuel L Jackson wants Oscars for popular films

OHMYGOSSIP — Samuel L. Jackson believes there should be an Academy Award for Most Popular Movie.
The ‘Last Days of Ptolemy Grey’ actor is tired of criticism of studio blockbusters, particularly superhero films, because he insisted all movies are “valid” and bringing audiences into theatres is what the industry is all about.
He told the Sunday Times Culture magazine: “All movies are valid. Some go to the cinema to be moved dearly. Some like superheroes. If somebody has more butts on seats it just means your audience is not as broad. There are people who have had successful careers but nobody can recite one line of their parts. I’m the guy who says s*** that’s on a T-shirt.
“They should have an Oscar for the most popular movie. Because that’s what the business is about.”
Asked if ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ should be given an Oscar, he said: “They should! It did what movies did for ever — it got people to a big dark room.”
The 73-year-old star has received just one Oscar nomination, for his role in ‘Pulp Fiction’, and while he believes he should have won then, he also feels his work in ‘Jungle Fever’ was unfairly snubbed.
Samuel – who will receive the Academy Honorary Award at the upcoming ceremony – said: “My wife and I went to see ‘Bugsy’. Damn! They got nominated and I didn’t? I guess black folk usually win for doing despicable s*** on screen.
“Like Denzel [Washington] for being a horrible cop in ‘Training Day’. All the great stuff he did in uplifting roles like ‘Malcolm X’? No — we’ll give it to this motherf*****.
“So maybe I should have won one.”
But the ‘Snakes on a Plane’ star doesn’t think his lack of trophies has impacted on his career.
He added: “But Oscars don’t move the comma on your cheque — it’s about getting asses in seats and I’ve done a good job of doing that.”

Nicole Kidman perfected her Being the Ricardos accent over Zoom

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman worked tirelessly with a dialect coach to master Lucille Ball’s accent for ‘Being the Ricardos’.
The 54-year-old actress has described her role in the film as her hardest one to date, explaining that she had the challenge of mastering Lucille’s accent as well as essentially playing two characters.
She told the ‘In the Envelope’ podcast: “A week in, I was like, ‘Oh, whoah!’ – I didn’t quite realise with her accent, her voice, what I was taking on. But I had the most gorgeous dialect coach who just was like ‘you’re going to be fine.’ They just walked me through it, sound by sound, step by step, over Zoom.
“I just worked on it vocally, which is very unusual for me, and then moved into her emotionally.”
The ‘Big Little Lies’ star was also tasked with playing Lucy Ricardo.
She explained: “It was two roles. Lucy Ricardo and Lucille Ball. The differences in the tone of voice, the differences in mannerisms, the differences in the performance, one’s a real woman – that’s when I went, ‘Oh my gosh, this is rich and difficult and extraordinary’.”
Though the process was “difficult” for Nicole, she was honoured to take on the complex role. However, the award-winning actress was still “shocked” when she heard that director Aaron Sorkin wanted her for the part.
She elaborated: “The recreation of Lucy Ricardo was interesting … She had life behind her eyes. When she was doing that, there was another whole life to her.
“So that’s why it’s not mimicking her, it’s going into her … I could do the movements, choreography, but where’s the life? Her eyes sparkle, and there’s a reason that’s going on. It’s not robotic, it’s very, very alive … You have to find the life.”

Sally Dynevor exits Dancing On Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Sally Dynevor has been eliminated from ‘Dancing On Ice’.
The 58-year-old actress has become the sixth celebrity to exit the ITV show, after finding herself in the bottom two alongside Kye Whyte and his partner Tippy Packard.
After her exit was announced, Sally – who was partnered with Matt Evers – said: “I have had the time of my life. I’ve loved doing this show – it’s been brilliant.”
The soap star – who plays Sally Metcalfe in ‘Coronation Street’ – also paid a glowing tribute to her skating partner.
She said: “Matt, honestly, I couldn’t have got through this with you – you’ve been such a strength to me. I’m going to miss you so much. We’ll stay friends.”
Sally performed in the skate-off first, but admitted she expected to leave the show even before Kye took to the ice.
The actress told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: “The competition is so good but I think it’s time for me to go.”
Earlier in the show, Connor Ball took a tumble on the ice that left him bleeding.
The 25-year-old star suffered the injury during his routine, but he still received a score of 34 out of 40 points from the judges.
Phillip asked him: “We’re gutted for you. Are you OK?”
Connor replied: “I don’t want to look at what’s going on under here.”
Alexandra Schaumann, his skating partner, then observed that Connor was bleeding.
In response, he said: “The blade went into my leg.”
The pop star added on Twitter: “guys im okay, currently getting my leg stitched up but thank you so so so much for voting me through once again, you guys are actually incredible i’m too lucky honestly (sic)”

Connor Ball needed stitches after cutting himself with a skate on Dancing On Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Conor Ball needed stitches due to injuring himself while competing on ‘Dancing on Ice’.
‘The Vamps’ bassist took to Twitter to let his fans know he was “okay” and how “lucky” he was to be still in the competition after cutting himself on his partner Alexandra Schauman’s skate during Prop Week.
The 25-year-old musician wrote: “Guys I’m okay, currently getting my leg stitched up but thank you so so so much for voting me through once again, you guys are actually incredible i’m too lucky honestly.”
After his fall, Connor was insistent about not seeing a medic before judging after hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield checked to see if he was alright.
He said: “I don’t want to look at what’s going on under here right now. A blade ran into my leg.”
The accident prompted the judges to point out how “dangerous” getting out on the ice is for the celebs.
Ashley Banjo – who sits on the panel with Jayne Torvill, Christopher Deane and Oti Mabuse – said: “Anyone who wonders if Dancing on Ice is dangerous it really is on the line every single time.”
This is not the first time that Connor has needed stitches while taking part in the ITV star-studded skating competition as during practice – before the 6 February broadcast – he fell, injuring his chin, moving his performance slot from the opener to the end of the line-up.
He told viewers: “I was a bit stressed about the spin so I kept trying to perfect the spin and I slipped out and smacked my face on the ice.”
After getting through his dance, the stitches reopened, prompting him to hold a tissue to his face as he got his evaluation from the judges, who praised his bravery
Christopher said: “Welcome to the club. We all get it eventually. That means you’re becoming a professional skater.”

Jackie Woodburne: Neighbours will leave a massive gap

OHMYGOSSIP — Jackie Woodburne says ‘Neighbours’ will leave a “massive gap” in television.
The 66-year-old actress – who had played the iconic role of teacher Susan Kennedy since 1994 – has hailed the cancellation of the classic soap opera the “loss of an icon”.
In an interview with Australia’s early morning talk show ‘Studio 10’, she said: “It doesn’t matter how aware you are of the fans that watch the show and how much they enjoy it; but this week, it’s like a floodgate has opened and I’ve received the most beautiful messages from people.
“People are really going to miss the show and it’s going to leave a massive gap in the landscape of not just Australian television but internationally and specifically in the UK as well.
“It’s the end of an era, it’s the loss of an icon and we will never ever see a show like ‘Neighbours’ again.”
Channel 5 acquired the rights to the soap in 2008. However, the broadcaster recently announced that it will stop airing ‘Neighbours’ from this summer, with the network planning to focus on “original UK drama” instead.
The UK broadcaster largely funded the production costs because it was not commercially viable for Australian broadcaster Network 10 to fund the Freemantle Media-produced show alone.
However, a Network 10 spokesperson recently said: “As outlined in the email to ‘Neighbours’ cast and crew, it is our intention to continue our association with ‘Neighbours’ if another broadcast partner comes forward,
“Network 10 has an ongoing commitment to the show, the cast and crew and is hopeful that Fremantle will find a new production partner. We will provide further updates as they become available.”
Natalie Imbruglia – who portrayed Beth Brennan between 1992 and 1994 – recently said she hopes fan pressure can help to save ‘Neighbours’.
The 47-year-old star commented: “I think at this point we just thought it was gonna go on forever so, I, you know … people are petitioning. Here’s hoping they pull it off.”

The ‘Eyes of Tammy Faye’ star ruled out reprising the role of Peter Parker’s superhero alias but admitted he was aware people might not believe him after he denied that he was making an appearance in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, the final installment of the latest trilogy starring Tom Holland in the title role.
The 38-year-old actor told Marc Malkin, host of ‘Variety On the Red Carpet presented by DirectV’: “No plans, that’s the truth. Everyone’s gonna call me a liar for the rest of my life. I’m the boy who cried wolf.”
Andrew – who starred in 2012 ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ and its 2014 sequel – along with Tobey Maguire – who took on the role in the Sam Raimi trilogy in the 00s – battled an onslaught of rumours that they were featuring in the highest grossing movie of 2021 that hit theatres in December.
Speaking to Lin-Manuel Miranda – who directed Andrew in ‘Tick Tick Boom’ – shared with Marc that they were together when the news “leaked” that Andrew and Tobey were involved, but his denial was “the worst acting” that the ‘Hamilton’ creator had ever seen the Screen Actors Guild Award nominee do.
He said: “To his credit, he never said it to me. He always denied it, but I was there the day it leaked. He was on my set in November when it leaked that he was in talks and I quietly went up to him and said, ‘Bro, are you in the new ‘Spider-Man?” and he went, ‘Shut up, shut up.’ It was the worst acting I’d ever seen him do. And I went, ‘He’s gotta practice that, that denial,’ and he got very good at it, but I was there when he first workshopped it.”
Lin added: “The euphemism became, ‘I’m seeing a friend in Atlanta, and I was like, ‘Say hi to your friend in Atlanta for me.’ His friend is two other Spidermen.”

Channing Tatum reveals his favourite Magic Mike movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Channing Tatum prefers the second ‘Magic Mike’ movie to the first.
The 41-year-old actor is set to reprise his titular role as stripper Mike Lane in the third and final instalment of the franchise, ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’.
But Channing has revealed there very nearly wasn’t a follow-up to the 2012 flick, as they didn’t think there was enough material to make 2015’s ‘Magic Mike XXL’, however, it ended up being his favourite of the two.
He said: “In my opinion, we had chewed up all the meat on the bone, story-wise. Pun intended, I guess. They’re essentially movies about guys made for women. We didn’t plan on making a second one.
“Then all of our ancillary characters were so good and fun that we felt like, ‘Let’s do another movie and give those characters more real estate that we didn’t have before.’ Once we did that, we felt like there was no other story.
“Let’s just like get out of jail. I actually like the second movie more than the first one. It’s more fun and I think more of what people expected the first film to be. I obviously love that one, too.”
The ‘Step Up’ star also admitted he wasn’t keen on the idea of ‘Magic Mike’ being turned into a live show, but it ended up being his “favourite thing”.
He explained to IndieWire: “What we learned in the live show was really interesting, too.
“I didn’t want to make a live show because I was like, ‘I know this world, it’s kind of dark and weird.’ Our whole idea was that we could change that, revolution that in terms of what that experience could be for women.
“We went out and actually made it with women. It was an education. What we made is today my favourite thing that we’ve made in our careers. If you ever have time in Vegas, please, go.”
