Strictly star Katya Jones signs up for Celebrity Hunted

OHMYGOSSIP — Katya Jones is set to go on the run after signing up for the new series of ‘Celebrity Hunted’.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing ‘ professional is among the famous faces who will be competing in the show in which they become fugitives and attempt to outsmart a team of captors who are all former cops and intelligence officials.
An insider told The Sun producers have high hopes for Katya, saying: “They’re … expecting her to be able to evade her pursuers for some time as she’s incredibly smart and particularly fit.
“It just depends who she ends up getting paired up with on the programme, as she doesn’t want a celebrity partner who will hold her back.”
The fifth series of ‘Celebrity Hunted’ is expected to be broadcast in 2023 after two years off-air due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The celebrities are given two weeks to go on the run and they are successful if they manage to go the entire time without being caught.
It’s a spin-off from the civilian series which began in 2015 and follows the same premise but the contestants have more time – 25 days – to get through.
News of Katya’s involvement in ‘Celebrity Hunted’ comes after her former ‘Strictly’ dance partner Seann Walsh opened up about the kissing scandal that rocked their time on the series.
Katya was married to fellow pro Neil Jones and Seann was in a relationship when they were pictured snogging on a night out during a break from ‘Strictly’ rehearsals.
Seann said of the scandal: What you are thinking about is: ‘What have you done to someone?’
“It’s one thing doing that privately and I don’t judge anyone, because everyone’s got their own backstory, lives or whatever.
“It was horrific. It was crazy. I can’t go near anything Strictly.”

Shaun Williamson played Shaun Goater on Soccer AM after booking mishap

OHMYGOSSIP — Shaun Williamson had to play Shaun Goater after a major booking mishap on ‘Soccer AM’.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actor found himself in a very unusual role back in 2011 when the weekly Sky Sports football show’s team accidentally booked him for an interview instead of the Manchester City legend, who scored 103 goals in 212 appearances for the club between 1998 and 2003.
Reflecting on the awkward moment, presenter Max Rushden told the ‘Football Weekly’ podcast: “We booked Shaun Goater for the show and then the guy Chris who was booking the footballers texted his agent saying, ‘What’s he up to?’
“This is on the Friday night. We’ve cut all the Shaun Goater footage and everything. And the reply from Shaun Goater’s agent was: ‘He’s just doing a bit of writing. he’s not going to do panto this year.’
“That’s when Chris realised he’d not booked Shaun Goater but Shaun Williamson – Barry from ‘EastEnders.’ ”
Thankfully, the AGE-year-old actor was a total professional and took the situation in his stride as he agreed to do the interview as if he was actually Goater.
Max added: “As you can imagine Shaun Williamson was brilliant and he just answered all the Shaun Goater questions and did it all professionally.
“It was a great moment. It was Friday night. We couldn’t be bothered to change the questions. We just asked, ‘Could you just do the Shaun Goater interview?’
“And he did it brilliantly. He did all his research. He talked about great goals he scored for Man City, talked about playing for Bermuda, all of that. He was an absolute consummate professional.”
The two Shauns – who had actually appeared on the same episode of the show a few years earlier – reunited on the sofa a few months later, and the soap star was in good spirits about the mixup.
He quipped: “I thought it was hilarious but I kept quiet because it paid my mortgage for the month!”
And Goater laughed: “I had no idea whatsoever!”

Chris Hemsworth almost walked away from fourth Thor movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Hemsworth might have walked away from the ‘Thor’ movies if Taika Waititi hadn’t agreed to direct the fourth installment.
The Australian actor has admitted he was “bored” of the Marvel character and wasn’t impressed with his own performance in the second film, 2013’s ‘Thor: The Dark World’ but felt Taika reinvigorated the franchise with 2017’s ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.
He told Vanity Fair: “I wasn’t stoked with what I’d done in Thor 2. I was a little disappointed in what I’d done. I didn’t think I grew the character in any way. I don’t think I showed the audience anything different or unexpected. And then when Ragnarok came along, out of my own sort of frustration of what I’d done And this is not any any other director or anyone, this was my own performance. I really wanted to break the mould and I said this to Taika and I think the conversation we had was I said ‘I’m really bored of Thor’ and he said ‘Yeah I’m really bored of Thor too’ and then we decided not to be bored and any time that feeling came into play, we’d go in a different direction.”
Chris added: “And so, we just dismantled the character, we wanted to have him be a little more unpredictable, we wanted him to be in a different set of circumstances than he’d been in before and also have the humour come through … ”
Chris and Taika have reunited for the upcoming fourth film ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ and the actor admits he might have walked away from the franchise if the director hadn’t agreed to return.
He added: “Being able to work with Taika again, I don’t know if I would have done another one if Taika hadn’t said yes, he was gonna do it.
“And he had written this i script which was a wacky, crazy, romantic comedy set in space and that I hadn’t seen before. And I thought: ‘Cool, I have a way into this’.”
‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ stars Chris opposite Natalie Portman and is released in July.

Gordon Ramsay offering £137 meal for Father’s Day

OHMYGOSSIP — Gordon Ramsay is offering fans the chance to treat their dads to Father’s Day meal costing £137-per-head.
The celebrity chef has been plugging a special six-course menu at his swanky British restaurants to mark the UK’s dad for dads on Sunday (19.06.22) but the prices could push the bill for a family of four with drinks up to around £600.
Gordon promoted the Father’s Day menu in a post online, writing: “Spend time with the father figure in your life this Father’s Day and treat him to a day filled with wining and dining at one of our restaurants.
“From Chelsea to St Paul’s, Liverpool to Edinburgh, we’ll be here to help you celebrate in style.”
A number of his followers replied to the post admitting it sounds amazing but the price means few will be able to afford it.
One wrote: “I wish I could afford this for my husband. The only father in my life. We live on a very fixed income.”
Another tweeted: “Look so good! I couldn’t even afford a cherry tomato right now.”
It comes after fellow chef Angela Hartnett revealed she’d asked the famously foul-mouthed telly star to cut back on his swearing.
Gordon is notorious for his explicit-filled outbursts, but his former protege Angela is hoping all kitchens can become calmer places.
She told the ‘Out To Lunch’ podcast: “There will always be a bit of tension in the kitchens, in that there’s a sense of urgency, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. “There’s that adrenaline, and I can snap, but you don’t have to be nasty. You don’t have to be a bully, that’s for sure. “I probably have said that to Ramsay before. We have had frank conversations about things like that. “Even he knows life’s not like that anymore for God’s sake. It’s not worth it. It’s not healthy.”

Dolly Alderton wants a second series of Everything I Know About Love

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Alderton wants a second series of ‘Everything I Know About Love.’
The 33-year-old journalist adapted her best-selling memoir into a BBC drama series about a group of girls battling through their early 20s – which premiered on BBC One in June 2022 – and is keen for the show to be renewed so she can explore the characters as they age further.
She said: “I would love there to be a season 2. The book is about your 20s, we were honing in on a very specific bit, but the difference between a 24-year-old and a 27-year-old is enormous, it’s like dog years.”
The series stars former ‘Traitors’ actress Emma Appleton as a fictionalised version of the author alongside Bel Powley as best friend Birdy, Aliyah Odoffin as Amara, and Marli Siu as Nell, with Dolly going on to explain that she is “desperate” to go further with the characters she has created.
She told RadioTimes.com: “So I feel like there are so many things that I want to know about the girls – I want to know more about Nell’s family, I want to know more about Amara’s love life. There are just so many things that I’m desperate to get into with all four of them. So I would love another series.”
Meanwhile, her thoughts were echoed by lead actress Emma, 30, who stressed that all four of the main girls are keen to get back to their characters and labelled the first series as simply an “introduction” to them.
She said: “We all definitely want there to be a second series. The first series is an introduction to these characters. There’s so many places the show could go. I don’t know what necessarily I want my character to be doing [in a second season].”

Lorraine Kelly challenges Boris Johnson to interview after TV gaffe

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorraine Kelly has challenged Boris Johnson to an interview after his headline-grabbing gaffe when he admitted he had no idea who is she.
Boris made a blunder on ‘Good Morning Britain’ last month when he asked “Who’s Lorraine?” as host Susanna Reid introduced the TV veteran’s long-running self-titled ITV show – and the telly star is adamant she wants to give him a grilling.
Speaking during a Mirror Facebook Live event, Lorraine explained: “I have met him a couple of times – but clearly I didn’t make much of an impression. But, absolutely, he can come on my show whenever he likes. We have asked him. But he hasn’t taken up our invitation so far.”
She went on to admit she’s interviewed plenty of other prime ministers, but fears Boris might be opposed to doing a sit-down chat with her.
Lorraine added: “He’s probably the first prime minister I’ve not interviewed. David Cameron came on a few times and Theresa May, and the leaders of the opposition have many times.
“It’s strange. It seems slightly odd. But he hid in a fridge when Piers tried to talk to him. So maybe he doesn’t want to.”
Lorraine was referring to a moment on ‘Good Morning Britain’ back in 2019 when Boris appeared to run into a large fridge to avoid questions from hosts Susanna and Piers Morgan on the eve of the general election.
She previously revealed she’d tried to land a chat with Boris the day after his GMB interview but she’d been turned down.
Speaking on her show, she explained: “It’s so interesting actually because we had Keir Starmer on a couple of weeks ago and obviously for balance, we wanted to get somebody – it would have been lovely to have got Boris Johnson, but obviously Susanna did that brilliant interview with them, and they couldn’t put anyone up today.
“We did ask but they didn’t, they made themselves unavailable which is a shame.”

Danielle Harold planning film career after EastEnders axe

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Harold is planning to move into the movie business after being axed from ‘EastEnders’.
The 30-year-old actress starred as Lola Pearce in the BBC One soap from 2011 until 2015 before making a return in 2019, but “can’t wait” to find a new role after her character is killed off.
She told The Daily Star newspaper: “‘EastEnders’ has been such a big part of my life, but I can’t wait to start something new. I want to work on other things and play other characters. I can’t wait to get out there and see what’s possible.”
While the circumstances surrounding her character’s death are being kept under wraps, the soap star went on to reveal she is keen to take part in a TV drama next but is also looking to land movie role as she wants to do something “different.”
She added: “I’d love to do a drama. I want to do something completely different to soaps. I’d love to get back to doing some films as well.”
Danielle previously appeared in films including ‘Dead Ringer’, ‘The Tombs’ and ‘Next Door’.
News of Danielle’s exit from ‘EastEnders’ was revealed in May, with a source telling The Sun that the actress was shocked by the decision to kill off Lola.
The insider said: “Dan was in pieces. The cull came out of the blue. She was not expecting the chop because her character has been a firm favourite with viewers. She’ll be written out with no option to return.”
The source claimed Danielle was left “teary” but handled the news of her departure “like a true pro” and added that she is “eager to throw herself into the storyline.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Bob Thornton has been cast in ‘Role Play’.
The 66-year-old actor has joined Kaley Cuoco and David Oyelowo in the thriller that is being directed by Thomas Vincent.
The movie revolves around a married couple whose lives are transformed when secrets are revealed about each other’s pasts. Kaley and David are playing the married pair.
Little is known about Billy Bob’s role but insiders say he will play an important figure in the film – a mysterious stranger who encounters the couple.
The film has been written by Seth Owen and Andrew Baldwin has also worked on the screenplay. Production is set to begin in Berlin next month.
Billy Bob, who has been married six times and has four children from three women, previously revealed that he wanted to make a movie, a TV show and a record every year to “strike a balance” between all the different elements of his career.
He said: “I think I’ll probably try to strike a balance between music, movies, and TV. I mean, you know, if you can do one each, each year, if I can make a record and go on tour, if I can make one movie and one TV thing, that that seems pretty good, you know? … And I’ve got kids to take care of, so you know, why not?”
The ‘Bad Santa’ star has also suggested that TV drama series are the “future” when it comes to telling stories on screen.
He said: “These days, the streaming shows are so much like movies. I mean, they’re cinematic and you can develop a story over a period of episodes, so I’m all for it. I think it’s kind of the future in a lot of ways.”

Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron and Joey King to star in Netflix romcom

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron and Joey King are to star in a romantic comedy for Netflix.
Richard LaGravenese will direct the movie for the streamer and is also writing the script after polishing the latest draft of the screenplay from Carrie Solomon – the rising scriptwriter who is working on the Margot Robbie ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ prequel set up at Warner Bros.
Plot details for the movie are vague, but the project sees a surprising romance cause comic consequences for a young woman, her mother and her movie star boss as they face the complications of love, sex and identity.
Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Alyssa Altman are producing via their Roth/Kirschenbaum Films banner. The company are behind Adam Sandler’s latest Netflix movie ‘Hustle’ and are also working on the big-budget flick ‘The Gray Man’ for the streaming service.
Film chiefs are hoping to begin production in Atlanta later on this summer.
Nicole has pledged to star in more movies from female filmmakers after a conversation with Meryl Streep made her realise the lack of opportunities for women in the industry.
The 54-year-old star said: “Directors, writers, crew-members – the figures were astounding.
“There was a lot of talk about how things were changing. But then I was like, ‘We’ve actually got to do something.’
“It was my way of going, ‘Hold me accountable.’
“My commitment to this industry is that I will give a platform for new voices to come forward and they can piggyback on me… That’s part of the ‘paying it forward’.”
The ‘Big Little Lies’ actress continued: “I could rest. Or I could actually do what I’d promised I’d do. Sure, I’m tired. But at the same time, I feel this strong sense that I need to stop talking about it, and actually… do it.”

Rob Mallard would love to ‘play the villain’ on Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Rob Mallard would love to “play the villain” on ‘Coronation Street.’
The 30-year-old actor has starred as teacher Daniel Osbourne – the long-lost son of longest-serving character Ken Barlow – on the ITV soap since 2016 and admitted that while he would “love” for his character to take a dark turn, explained it was a “swift way” to be written out of the show.
He said: “I’d love to play the villain, but that is a very swift road out of the show isn’t it? So no, not from that perspective but with the fun they seem to have being villains though, definitely!”
Rob was previously involved in a high-profile storyline that saw Daniel’s girlfriend Sinead Tinker – played by Katie McGlynn – diagnosed with and eventually succumb to cervical cancer, but his character is now dating Rovers Return barmaid Daisy Midgeley, and although he hopes the pair will stick together, predicted that the “malicious” writers will intervene.
He told The Daily Mirror newspaper: “I hope [they stay together], and I hope that they have a little family unit with each other, but I think the writers are a bit more malicious than that so they are probably going to put them through a bit of pain first!”
However, the soap star – who is currently single but previously dated co-star Daniel Brocklebank – admitted that he loves the “high drama” of working on soap and also hopes that his character’s ex-girlfriend Nicky Wheatley would be back on the cobbles soon to reignite the “love triangle.”
He said: “I love it. That’s all the high drama. In real life you want everything to go smoothly, but in drama, you don’t because there is no drama otherwise is there? I really hope [Nicky returns] because me and Kimberly [Hart-Simpson] get on off-screen, and the love triangle between Nicky, Daisy, and Daniel is a lot of fun to play. I thought it would have been interesting if they put Nicky behind the bar with Daisy. I thought that might have had some legs to it but I hope she comes back!”

Richard Madeley asks Samantha Fox if she’d revive Page 3 career

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Madeley asked former glamour model Samantha Fox if she’d ever consider reviving her career as a Page 3 model.
The TV presenter was chatting to the model-turned-singer on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Monday (13.06.22) when he asked if she’d ever consider posing topless again at the age of 56 – and Sam admitted she’d want to wait until her 60th birthday.
Richard asked Sam: “If it (Page 3) were to come back would you pose again?” and the star responded: “At my age, Richard?”
She then added: “Well, Joan Collins did Playboy (not topless) at 60, so I might do Playboy at 60. I’ve got no qualms with that … There’s a thin line that you don’t cross. And I think that’s why I did so well because I was never tacky.”
Models posing topless on Page 3 used to be a staple of the British tabloid press, but the feature has disappeared in recent years.
However, Sam is adamant she wouldn’t have a problem with the tradition being revived, saying on “GMB’: “We all visit the Tate Gallery, and other galleries, and some of the most beautiful pictures in those galleries were taken of women.
“And there wasn’t cameras in those days. I’m sure if there was there would be plenty of pictures in those galleries.
“I think women should be proud of their bodies. At the moment there is a lot of pressure for women to look a certain way, what is great today is there is a lot of diversity. We don’t have to be skinny, I think natural is the best way to be.”

Original Love Island star Fran Cosgrave is up for return if they make a special for ‘old people’

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Love Island’ star Fran Cosgrave would consider returning to the reality dating show if they made a special “for old people”.
The 44-year-old nightclub boss won the first season of ‘Celebrity Love Island’ with Jayne Middlemiss back in 2005 when it was set in a villa in Fiji with stars including Calum Best and Michael Greco – and Fran described his time on the show as one of the “best experiences” of his life.
Speaking to Simon Gross for his ‘Get Gossy with Grossy Love Island Extra’ Instagram show, he said: “It was one of the best experiences of my life so if I was single I do it for old people – old people Island.”
Fran – who has also served as a bodyguard for boy band Westlife – went on to explain the changes he sees between the original show and the hugely successful new version, which returned to TV after a revamp in 2015.
He said: “It definitely wasn’t what it was when we were there … everybody was quite mixed and different … People were picked for having stuff going on with the press … There were all kinds of different characters …
“But I think it had to change … It’s definitely more … in your face and a bit more confrontational than it would have been there, With swapping partners. … with people getting removed if they don’t have a partner …”
He also admitted that despite being surrounded by beautiful people, he was single for most of his time in the villa because he didn’t “click with anyone in that way”.
It means he would have been unlikely to survive for long in the new version where anyone without a partner is at risk of being evicted from the show.
Fran added: “I would have been kicked out at the start of the format now … I would have been removed for the show for not coupling up.”
Love Island’ airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
The dating reality show can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Sam commented on the post: “Welcome to the 5 club sis. I’m so so happy for you all. Another beautiful baby to join our family!”
Sam – who also has Paul, six and Rosie, four, with her partner – went on to gush about how “close” the new children will be in age and predicted that her sister will give birth to a baby girl this time round as she sent the family her well wishes.
She wrote: “The babies are going to be so close in age. So many memories to make. My prediction is a baby girl? then we have one of each.

BGT star Calum Scott ‘lost all of his friends’ when he came out as gay

OHMYGOSSIP — Calum Scott “lost all of his friends” when he came out as gay.
The 32-year-old pop star – who shot to fame as a finalist on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ back in 2015 – explained that he was encouraged to not talk about his feelings as a child and while his mum supported him when he opened up about his sexuality, others did not.
He said: “I’m from Hull and the mentality is very much that you don’t talk about your feelings, otherwise you’re soft. I’m a very sensitive boy so it was a bit of a challenge trying to navigate that. Luckily my mum is an absolute diamond and helped me but I lost all of my friends when I confided how I was feeling. After that, I suppressed how I felt about my sexuality. That went on through my teens and most of my 20s. It was a bit painful.”
The ‘Dancing On My Own’ hitmaker added that he was only “comfortable” with his sexuality as he progressed into his 20s but was hesitant to go public with any relationships.
He told Metro newspaper’s Sixty Seconds column: “I was only really comfortable with my sexuality in my mid-20s. I had relationships here and there but they were covert. I didn’t want to talk about it or be public about it.”
During his audition for the TV talent show – which this year saw comedian Axel Blake scoop the top prize of £250,000 and a spot at the upcoming Royal Variety Show – Calum was sent straight through to the semi-finals when Simon Cowell pressed the Golden Buzzer and explained that it was a confusing moment because his sister had just been rejected.
He said: “When Simon pressed the Golden Buzzer for me, I thought, ‘What the hell do I do here?’ I was thinking of my poor mother in the audience. Her daughter had gone on and been stopped from singing quite rudely and then her son goes on and gets the Golden Buzzer – polar opposites.
Afterwards I could see that it was painful for my sister. I was coming home and saying, ‘Ashton Kutcher has messaged me! But since then, she’s opened shows for me. I try to pass on opportunities when I get them. She’s also been really busy with her son, who is five, and she’s releasing her own music. She’s big into country music and she’s trying to take that path. You might be interviewing her soon!”

Jurnee Smollett can’t wait for Black Canary spin-off

OHMYGOSSIP — Jurnee Smollett is very “excited” about her Black Canary spin-off.
The 35-year-old star first played the character in the 2020 film ‘Birds of Prey’ and is returning for a standalone movie as Dinah Laurel Lance. She has suggested that fans will learn a lot more about the superhero in the project that is in development for HBO Max.
Jurnee told ComicBook.com: “I’m just so incredibly excited about a number of things that I can’t talk about. I mean, I’m excited, that’s what I can say. I’m excited about getting to explore a lot… I feel like we’ve only touched the surface with Black Canary.”
The ‘Lovecraft Country’ star also revealed that she wants to explore some of her alter ego’s martial arts skills.
Jurnee said: “And she’s one of the dopest martial artists in the DC Universe. That is something that is a real challenge in my head that I’m just excited at the possibility of being able to explore deeper and further and wider and greater.”
The movie is being written by Jurnee’s friend and regular collaborator Misha Green and the star teased that she has big ideas for the project.
Smollett said: “Here’s the thing. Her imagination is BIG!”
The actress had suggested that ‘Birds of Prey’ was merely an origin story for the character and there was much more to come in the future.
Jurnee explained: “She’s a beast, but I had to be really patient and kind of like reel that in because it is an origin story.
“She’s not there yet, so it was great to explore this idea of, you know, a woman who’s really needing to be emancipated from a state of mind. Because she’s really the one in her own way.
“I mean, she’s the most powerful person in the room. She’s got the Canary Cry and yet she’s choosing to hide it. And she’s very much the reluctant hero.”

Dakota Johnson wants ‘heart’ in Madame Web

OHMYGOSSIP — Dakota Johnson wants to bring “heart” to ‘Madame Web’.
The 32-year-old actress will play the character in an upcoming movie set in Sony’s Spider-Man universe and explained that she wants to bring elements of smaller projects to the blockbuster.
In an interview with Collider, Dakota said: “I guess having experience on all tiers of films I can bring maybe some stuff from the little movies to the big movies that I want to see in them, you know? I really love seeing large-scale films that still have heart in them.”
The ‘Fifty Shades’ star explained that crew members from her recent films ‘Am I OK?’ and ‘Cha Cha Real Smooth’ will be joining her in S.J. Clarkson’s movie.
Dakota explained: “People from ‘Cha Cha (Real Smooth)’ and some from ‘Am I Okay?’ are coming on to ‘Madame Web’ with me. It’s cool. It’s fun to be able to start creating a real team of people that make movies.”
In the comic books, Madame Web is depicted as an elderly woman who is connected to a life-support system that looks like a spider’s web.
Due to her age and medical condition, Madame Web has never actively fought any villains and insiders have stressed that the project could turn into something else.
The flick is also set to star Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor and Tahar Rahim and the ‘Euphoria’ actress revealed that she has been doing plenty of research for her role.
Asked if she has been reading the source material, Sydney said: “I am. I’ve been ordering a bunch of comic books. There’s a lot to learn.”
The actress revealed that she is a big fan of Marvel and Sony superhero films and regularly watched them as she was growing up.
Sydney, 24, explained: “I’ve always been a really big fan of all of the Marvel and Sony Universe movies. I’ve grown up watching them all and I’ve been engulfed in the entire world my entire life, so being able to be a part of that is such an incredible, incredible thing.”
