Jack Champion and Liana Liberato join cast of Scream 6

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack Champion and Liana Liberato are among the latest stars to join the cast of ‘Scream 6’.
The ‘Avengers: Endgame’ star and the ‘If I Stay’ actress have become the newest additions to the horror movie sequel along with ‘Ginny Georgia’ star Devyn Nekoda and ‘Arrow’ actor Josh Segarra as production on the sixth film in the franchise prepares to get underway this summer.
No details about their characters have been revealed but it’s likely they’ll be chased around by a knife-wielding maniac in a ghost mark which has become the franchise’s trademark villain.
The new actors will join the cast along with returning stars Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Hayden Panettiere.
Filming is due to begin in the coming weeks and the movie will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who helmed the fifth film in the franchise – 2022’s ‘Scream’.
‘Scream 6’ is believed to be slated for release in March 2023.
The latest casting news comes after one of the franchise’s main stars, David Arquette, insisted the movies must be kept going.
The 50-year-old actor returned to the role of Deputy Dewey Riley in 2022’s ‘Scream’ and was “thrilled” to see the fifth installment was received really well. He said: “I was really thrilled it was really great and they did a wonderful job, and I was really excited for the fans to see it. Keep this franchise alive I think, Ghostface is such an exciting character.”
He also addressed Neve Campbell’s decision to quit the ‘Scream’ franchise. The 48-year-old actress – who first appeared alongside Arquette in the horror classic in 1996- won’t be back as Sidney Prescott for the upcoming sixth movie.
He told ComicBook: “I’d love for her to be a part of it. A ‘Scream’ movie without Sidney is kind of unfortunate, but I understand her decision. “It’s all a business in a way, they have to balance all these elements to fit a budget and produce a film.”

Chris Evans would love to reprise his Fantastic Four superhero role

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Evans admits reprising his role as Johnny Storm in ‘Fantastic Four’ would be an “easier sell” than playing Captain America again.
The 41-year-old actor played the Human Torch aka Johnny Storm in 2005’s ‘Fantastic Four’, and its sequel ‘Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer’, and he would love for the Marvel superhero to make a comeback as he doesn’t believe the character has had his “day” yet.
He told MTV News: “God, wouldn’t that be great? Wouldn’t that be great?
“No, no one’s ever come to me about that. I mean, I don’t exactly look the same anymore. That was 15, almost 20 years ago. Oh my God, I’m old. But I really love that character, but I think… aren’t they doing something now with ‘Fantastic Four’?”
The ‘Lightyear’ star starred as Captain America in a whole host of Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including 2011’s ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’, 2014’s ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, and 2016’s ‘Captain America: Civil War’, as well as several ‘Avengers’ ensemble movies, the last being 2019’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
He added: “I would love it. That would actually be an easier sell to me than coming back as Cap. You know what I mean? Cap is so precious to me. And you know, I almost don’t wanna disrupt what a beautiful experience that was. But Johnny Storm, I feel like he didn’t really get his day. That was before Marvel really found its footing. So, I loved that role and, you know, who knows.”
Last year, Chris shot down a rumour he was set to return as Captain America.
He simply responded: “News to me.”
Chris also previously shared his excitement to have the “freedom” to pursue other parts.
He said: “I absolutely loved my time with Marvel; I already miss it, but there’s no denying that it is very exciting to just have complete freedom to pursue whatever my creative appetite wants.”

Remi Lambert: I need to humble myself

OHMYGOSSIP — Remi Lambert thinks he needs to “humble” himself after his time in the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The 22-year-old model was dumped from the show on Sunday night (19.06.22), and Remi admits that the experience has taught him an important lesson.
He said: “I’ve learnt that I need to humble myself. Not everyone is going to like me. But now I’ve got to take it easy, I’m going to chill for a bit and then go back on the dating scene – no rush!”
Despite this, Remi insisted he doesn’t regret how he approached his time on the show.
He explained: “I don’t think I’d do anything differently. I stayed true to myself and that’s all that matters.”
And in spite of his disappointment, Remi would still recommend appearing on the show to some of his friends.

Connor Ball fears his Dancing on Ice injuries could last a lifetime

OHMYGOSSIP — Connor Ball thinks his ‘Dancing on Ice’ injuries could last a lifetime.
The Vamps star suffered various injuries on the ITV show earlier this year, and Connor admits he still “can’t feel” half of his shin after his leg was sliced open by a blade.
The 26-year-old musician – who was partnered with Alexandra Schauman on the show – told The Sun newspaper: “I am always injured. I have scars, still, and my leg is pretty dead. I can’t feel half of my shin still.
“I went through a nerve and they said it might come back, or it might never. I was having physio but I’ve finished it now.”
Tristan Evans, Conor’s bandmate, admitted he now has no interest in following in Conor’s footsteps.
The 27-year-old drummer said: “I actually went ice-skating with Connor a bit ago and he nearly broke my neck.
“I was using one of those kids’ penguins that keep you upright and he was going crazy and then he went for me. I tripped over and …  ouch. We heard something click and it was my neck.”
Connor needed 19 stitches in his leg after a blade sliced through his skin.
The music star previously revealed that he also suffered a number of other injuries during his time on the ITV show.
Speaking before his exit, Connor shared: “I split my chin open and I have five stitches in there! I dislocated my shoulder as well.
“I also ripped my leg open and have stitches down there there too and there are a lot of bruises.”
Connor added that he had “a lot of pain and numbness” towards the end of his time on the programme.

James Nesbitt says filming Suspect was ‘thrilling’

OHMYGOSSIP — James Nesbitt found filming ‘Suspect’ to be a “thrilling” experience.
The 57-year-old actor relished playing Danny Frater – a police detective tasked with finding the killer of his estranged daughter Christina – in the Channel 4 series, and James approached the project as “an opportunity” to showcase his talents.
James told Metro: “It was thrilling, demanding and an affirmation of why I still love the job – an opportunity to show myself what I could do. This was a job where I could form a relationship with the person I was playing and not be scared by it, but embrace it.”
Despite this, the veteran star found it tough to maintain the momentum of the character due to the COVID-19 rules that surrounded the project.
James said: “The real challenge for me was sustaining Danny and being alert to what the other characters were saying to me.
“The week before the first episode, we’d do a read-through and rehearse for a day, then shoot for four days. Then I’d have a couple of days off to learn the next episode, come in and spend a day talking about the script, and then shoot again.”
James also praised the “authenticity and preparation” of the cast – which includes Anne-Marie Duff, Sam Heughan and Richard E Grant – and he explained that it pushed him to be better.
The actor – who is perhaps best known for playing Adam Williams in ‘Cold Feet’ – confessed to being “very competitive” on set.
He said: “Everyone brought such authenticity and preparation and threw themselves at it, which I love. I enjoy a kick up the a*** because I’m very competitive.”

Joseph Kosinski promises thrilling camera shots on new Formula One movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Joseph Kosinski has promised “in-camera thrills” on his new Formula One movie.
The ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ director has revealed that he will be using effects created solely by the camera to make viewers feel like they are behind the wheel at 200mph in the movie – which has the working title ‘Formula One’ and is set to star Brad Pitt with seven-time world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton co-producing.
Joseph told The Wrap: “Certainly seeing people react to an in-camera, authentically captured film like ‘Top Gun’ makes us feel all good that our approach works and is appreciated by audiences.
“It’s almost funny to me to see people who are so enamoured with real photography. Younger people almost haven’t seen a lot of it. They’re so used to CGI being a tool of big movies that when you shoot something for real, it feels innovative.
“That’s exactly the approach for ‘Formula One’… to shoot at the real races and real cars and capture it. It’s going to be a huge challenge but an exciting one for me.”
Apple won a fierce bidding war for the rights to the film which will see Pitt feature as a driver who comes out of retirement to mentor a promising rookie.
Ehren Krueger is writing the script with ‘Top Gun’ producer Jerry Bruckheimer involved in the movie.
Hamilton recently suggested that he had no plans to actually appear in the film.
The Mercedes driver said: “I don’t plan to be in it, no.
“Really my responsibility and something that I take on is just making sure that the cast and the crew in the background is diverse.
“It’s really about showing how great this sport really is to people that maybe have never watched it but also making sure that we really keep the real heritage and the true racing spirit in the movie.”

Taika Waititi relies on his ‘inner child’ for creativity

OHMYGOSSIP — Taika Waititi relies on his “inner child” for his creative work.
The 46-year-old star has a role in the new Pixar movie ‘Lightyear’ and admits that he could relate to the story as he often draws on his childhood while making hit movies such as ‘Thor: Ragnarok’.
Taika told ComicBook.com: “I think it’s all I’ve got, my inner child. I mean, I think that’s, if you look at any of my work, I mean, if you even just hang out with me for more than five minutes, then, you know, you’ll know I’m not the most mature person. But what is maturity? What does that even mean? You know, I think maturity’s stupid.”
The director voiced the character Mo Morrison in ‘Lightyear’ – known as ‘Quitter’ as the other characters expect him to give up as soon as the going gets tough – and Taika suggested that his alter ego is a metaphor for his life.
Taika explained: “That’s every single day of my life is that. It’s ‘I wish that this would stop’. I remember, I think every pre-production meeting I go into, I remember distinctly on my, maybe my first or second film, I was in a pre-production meeting and all the crew were in there and we were going through the pages and the script, and I had no idea what I was doing and I prayed in my head that a truck or a plane or anything would crash into the building and kill us all so I did not have to do the movie because I didn’t know what I was doing.”
He continued: “I think if you ask any, any director, there are moments for us all that are like that, where you’ll say, ‘Oh, wish, like I just wish someone would come in and kidnap me and throw me in the trunk of a car so no one would ever find me.’
“And that would be a great excuse to not have to work and do this movie because I’m too freaked out.”

Molly-Mae Hague knew Maura Higgins before Love Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Molly-Mae Hague recognised Maura Higgins when she walked in the ‘Love Island’ villa.
The 23-year-old star and Maura, 31, both appeared on the show in 2019, and Molly-Mae admits that she’d previously come across the brunette beauty at the Cove Beach Club in Dubai.
In a vlog post, Molly-Mae shared: “Fun fact, this is the beach club in which I first saw Maura before we even knew who each other were.
“Then when she came on the show I was like, ‘I recognise you. I saw you at Cove Beach Club’ and she was like: ‘Oh my gosh, I saw you too! I recognise you as well’.
“And the rest is history really. But that was about four years ago now.”
Maura actually threatened to put a spanner in the works of Molly-Mae’s burgeoning romance with Tommy Fury at one point in time.
But the blonde beauty previously revealed that she discussed the issue with Maura and they’re now “best friends”.
Molly-Mae said in her memoir: “Of course on ‘Love Island’ she was interested in Tommy for a bit, but there is no issue there.
“After Tommy started getting closer with me, she said to me: ‘Look, I’ll never go near him again in that way, you know’, and ever since then we’ve been best friends.”
Molly-Mae and Tommy met on the hit TV show, and she recently admitted that she hopes to marry the 23-year-old boxer – who is the half-brother of world champion Tyson Fury – one day.
Molly-Mae made the confession after she was mistakenly introduced as “Mrs Fury” by an interviewer.
She said: “It’s fine. Don’t worry. Maybe soon [we will get married]. Hopefully.”

“I rang the hospital and they said to come in. Kelvin had to stay with the kids, so I drove myself to the hospital, which is an hour away, at 5am.

Liz admitted she was initially overwhelmed with having so many kids at home.
She shared: “The first week was just crazy – it was like a circus act when they’re spinning plates … I couldn’t physically pick up two babies at once, but now I can do it with two fingers!”
But Kelvin, 38 – who is perhaps best known for playing Andy Sugden in ‘Emmerdale’ – has now grown used to their new lifestyle.

“But now we can’t imagine it any other way. We feel so lucky.”

He said: “Glenda sails in fresh from the cruise ships with a whiff of the exotic, quickly making best friends and enemies in equal measure.

Holly Hagan is ‘more open to the idea of having children’

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Hagan is “more open to the idea of having children” after recently tying the knot.
The 29-year-old TV star is increasingly open-minded about starting a family with Jacob Blyth, after the loved-up couple recently got married in Ibiza.
Asked about the prospect of having kids, Holly told OK! magazine: “I was very against it – not in life, but for right now.
“I really wanted to wait and go to Bali next year. Since we’ve been married, it’s weird because you think you can’t love someone more, but then you do.
“We’re definitely back in the honeymoon stage and instinctively it makes you more excited about the next stage. I’m feeling more open to the idea of children. We’ve been really careful up until this point.”
Despite this, Holly suggested she remains laid back about the situation for the time being.
She said: “We’re not going to plan anything, we’re just going to see what happens…”
Holly was delighted that Charlotte Crosby – her MTV co-star – was able to attend her wedding as she “really struggled during her pregnancy”. The TV star was thrilled that Sophie Kasaei was able to join them in Ibiza, too.
Holly said: “Charlotte has really struggled during her pregnancy. I know that it was really difficult for her to even travel.
“And she said it was the first time in her pregnancy she couldn’t have a drink or get involved as much as she wanted to. It’s been hard for her, but I massively appreciate her being there. It meant a lot to me.”
Holly feels she’s got a sister-like relationship with Charlotte and Sophie.
Holly said: “I’ve shared my whole journey with Charlotte and Sophie and they’ve become more like sisters – but we’re all so different, we dress differently our attitudes are different.
“It’s like a sibling, you don’t always have the same views on things, but you’re so close and nothing will take away that bond – and that’s how I feel about those two girls.”

Love Island bosses ‘want Michael Owen to appear on the show’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’ bosses are determined to get Michael Owen in the villa, according to a former Islander.
Gemma Owen – the 19-year-old daughter of the former England soccer player – is one of the most talked-about contestants on this year’s series, and Marcel Somerville thinks Michael could make an appearance during a “meet the parents” task.
Marcel told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “What ‘Love Island’ want to do is have Michael Owen walk through the doors – that’s going to be TV gold.
“Their goal is to have a hero arc and I feel like it’s coming along. She’s a person they want to turn into a main character – they put her ex-boyfriend in the villa for a reason, as she’s got more dimensions to her.
“At first, she came across snotty and like she’s entitled, but now she’s coming across more normal.”
Michael, 42, previously admitted that having his daughter appear on the show is “a father’s worst nightmare”.
Despite this, the former Liverpool and Manchester United star insisted he’s “supportive” of Gemma’s decision.
Speaking about her ‘Love Island’ adventure, Michael said: “I have no doubts that she will make us all proud.
“It’s probably a father’s worst nightmare, but whatever she wants to do you’ve got to be supportive.”
Despite this, Michael confessed that he’d never actually watched the show before Gemma signed up for the current series.
He shared: “I’ve heard a lot about it. I think old, grumpy men like me will always have an opinion on it because I don’t watch it and you just hear the snippets, but she assures me that it’s not as bad as I think.
“So, we’ll give it a watch and I hope she enjoys herself.”
‘Love Island’ airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
The dating reality show can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Keke Palmer: Lightyear is progress for diversity in films

OHMYGOSSIP — Keke Palmer considers ‘Lightyear’ to be “progress” for representation in films.
The 28-year-old actor voices Izzy Hawthorne in the new Pixar movie, which serves as an origin story for ‘Toy Story’ icon Buzz Lightyear, and is impressed with the diversity in the film – which has been banned in some Middle Eastern countries for a same-sex kiss.
Keke told the i newspaper: “Disney, Pixar, there’s a wide audience, and a lot of their audience is obviously LGBTQ+, women, Black women… people that want to be represented in films.
“So, yes, 100 per cent, I think it is progress. Obviously, we can’t expect for film and television to always be the reason why people decide to respect one another. But I think it’s a step in the right direction. And I think the way that it’s illustrated in the film is normal… we’re just depicting life and love the way that exists in our world.”
Keke is also set to feature in Jordan Peele’s top-secret new horror movie ‘Nope’ – which is slated for release next month – and can’t wait for the film to be released.
She explained: “I’m happy that I’m getting one step closer to not having to hold on to this big secret! But it was one of the most extraordinary experiences I’ve had in my life. I think Jordan Peele is 1,000 per cent a genius.
“I think everybody’s going to be entertained, freaked out, and also impressed.”
Keke landed her debut screen role as the niece of Queen Latifah’s character in the 2004 film ‘Barbershop 2: Back in Business’ and she explained how the star has become a “fairy godmother” to her.
The ‘Hustlers’ actress said: “She went from rapping to singing to producing to acting to hosting. She’s done it all.
“She always made me feel like I was just vaudevillian-ish. I could do many things, from singing, dancing, or whatever… she would bring people like Sammy Davis Jr and Judy Garland: ‘You could do what they did. They didn’t just do one thing, so never feel afraid or feel like you have to choose.'”

Antonio Banderas reveals Quentin Tarantino’s Zorro idea

OHMYGOSSIP — Antonio Banderas has revealed that Quentin Tarantino approached him about a ‘Zorro’ and ‘Django Unchained’ crossover movie.
The 61-year-old actor played the swashbuckling sword-fighter in the 1998 movie ‘The Mask of Zorro’ and the sequel ‘The Legend of Zorro’ and Tarantino approached him about an idea of teaming up with Jamie Foxx – who starred in the 2012 Western film from the acclaimed director.
Antonio believes that Tarantino’s filmmaking style would have been perfect for the unmade movie and he would have loved the chance to work with both Foxx and the ‘Pulp Fiction’ filmmaker.
The Spanish actor told USA Today: “He talked to me, I think on the Oscar night (in 2020) when I was nominated for ‘Pain and Glory’. We saw each other at one of those parties.
“He just came up to me and I was like, ‘In your hands? Yeah, man!’ Because Quentin just had that nature to do those types of movies and give them quality. Even if they are based on those types of B-movies of the 60s and 70s, he can take that material and do something really interesting.
“We’ve never worked together, but it would be great because of him, because of Jamie Foxx and because of (playing) Zorro again when he’s a little bit older. It would be fantastic and funny and crazy.”
Antonio admits that he is uncertain about portraying Zorro in another film as his age means he would have to play the role differently.
He said: “I don’t know. If I do Zorro again, I would actually be the character played by Anthony Hopkins in the first one. I’m gonna turn 62 this summer, so I don’t know if I can play that character in the same way I used to.”

Strictly star Katya Jones signs up for Celebrity Hunted

OHMYGOSSIP — Katya Jones is set to go on the run after signing up for the new series of ‘Celebrity Hunted’.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing ‘ professional is among the famous faces who will be competing in the show in which they become fugitives and attempt to outsmart a team of captors who are all former cops and intelligence officials.
An insider told The Sun producers have high hopes for Katya, saying: “They’re … expecting her to be able to evade her pursuers for some time as she’s incredibly smart and particularly fit.
“It just depends who she ends up getting paired up with on the programme, as she doesn’t want a celebrity partner who will hold her back.”
The fifth series of ‘Celebrity Hunted’ is expected to be broadcast in 2023 after two years off-air due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The celebrities are given two weeks to go on the run and they are successful if they manage to go the entire time without being caught.
It’s a spin-off from the civilian series which began in 2015 and follows the same premise but the contestants have more time – 25 days – to get through.
News of Katya’s involvement in ‘Celebrity Hunted’ comes after her former ‘Strictly’ dance partner Seann Walsh opened up about the kissing scandal that rocked their time on the series.
Katya was married to fellow pro Neil Jones and Seann was in a relationship when they were pictured snogging on a night out during a break from ‘Strictly’ rehearsals.
Seann said of the scandal: What you are thinking about is: ‘What have you done to someone?’
“It’s one thing doing that privately and I don’t judge anyone, because everyone’s got their own backstory, lives or whatever.
“It was horrific. It was crazy. I can’t go near anything Strictly.”
