Shaughna Phillips says producers help write Love Island speeches

OHMYGOSSIP — Shaughna Phillips has revealed ‘Love Island’ stars are given help to write their recoupling speeches.
The former democratic services officer appeared on the 2020 winter edition of the show which was shot in South Africa, and she’s now opened up about the recoupling ceremonies – revealing the contestants get help writing their speeches as part of the process which takes many hours to film.
Speaking on the ‘Should I Delete That’ podcast, Shaughna explained: “(It takes) hours. Hours. You don’t normally have to re-do … if it’s something very dramatic, then obviously they can’t really redo that.
“But when you’re doing, like, the ‘I would like to couple up with this person because …’ you do that in three sections. So you say that, and then you have a big pause, then you say the next bit, pause.”
She added of the speeches: “You kind of go over it with a producer before, that night. So like during dinner time you kind of talk through it. It’s really produced.
“They kind of ask you to go for chats and certain things. It’s a TV show, so I get it.”
Shaughna also opened up about the show’s games, admitting she was left in tears on the day she had to film the “vile” heart rate challenge.
It involves the stars getting dressed up in raunchy outfits and putting on a sexy dance in a bid to raise the others’ heart rates – and Shaughna said it was nerve-wracking.
She went on: “(It was) the most vile thing ever … I cried from lunchtime to the minute I walked out (to dance). I said to them (the show’s producers) ‘I will go out naked in nipple tassels, as long as you give me trousers, tights, or thigh high boots. I will do whatever you want’.”
‘Love Island’ airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
The dating reality show can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Miles Teller says James Bond role would be ‘perfect’ after gran’s campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Miles Teller has branded James Bond his “perfect” role after his grandmother started a campaign to land him the job.
The ‘Whiplash’ star’s gran Leona Flowers is convinced the actor is the perfect replacement for Daniel Craig and she started a Twitter campaign in a bid to land him the role of 007 – and Miles has now admitted the job would be a “perfect fit”.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Yeah. I mean, yeah perfect. I think we’re actors, you know, so maybe you can mix it up a little bit.”
Daniel Craig stepped down from the role of 007 after the release of his final film ‘No Time To Die’ and Bond bosses are believed to be searching for a replacement.
In a post on the social media site, Leona insisted Miles is the right man for the job, writing: “They’re looking for an actor to replace Daniel Craig for future 007 movies. “I think my grandson, Miles Teller, has proven that he has everything they’re looking for – talent, looks, strength, worldwide appeal oh, so cool. He can be that guy!! Wouldn’t he be great?” Many of her followers agreed with her, but some pointed out that Bond has historically been played by British actors while Miles is American. However, Leona is adamant her 35-year-old grandson is great with accents and could easily convince moviegoers he’s a Brit. She added: “He could make you think he was (British) … And lots of Europeans have played Americans. He studied acting which includes accents. He’d be great.”

‘They suck’: Taika Waititi reveals why he won’t share four-hour Thor: Love and Thunder director’s cut

OHMYGOSSIP — Taika Waititi will never release a director’s cut of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ because they “suck”.
The Marvel blockbuster’s helmer is not a fan of filmmakers releasing lengthy versions of their films and admits some directors need to be “controlled sometimes”, which is why fans will never see his “four and a half hours long” cut.
He said: “Director’s cuts are not good.
“I’ve been thinking about director’s cuts. I watch director’s cuts of a lot of other directors. They suck. Director’s cuts are not good. Directors need to be controlled sometimes, and if I was to say, ‘ah, you wanna watch my director’s cut? It’s four and a half hours long!’ It’s not good, at four and a half hours. There’s a lot of cup-of-tea breaks in there, you don’t even have to pause it.”
The ‘Jojo Rabbit’ director also isn’t big on deleted scenes being made public.
He added in an interview with NME: “There might be a couple of deleted scenes, but as I always say, a scene is deleted because it’s not good enough to be in the film.
“I think the deleted scenes section on the DVD, not that they use them anymore, should just be a list of the scenes and no links so you can’t click on them!”
In a separate interview with Collider, Thor himself Chris Hemsworth described Taika’s director’s cut as “bat**** crazy”.
He said: “[it was the most] Bat**** crazy, wild, four-hour cut I’ve ever seen … It was about four hours. It was like a ‘Monty Python’ sketch … I wouldn’t call it a movie … the story was sacrificed for jokes.”

Curtis Pritchard kicked out by brother AJ

OHMYGOSSIP — Curtis Pritchard is living alone after his brother AJ kicked him out.
The 26-year-old former ‘Love Island’ contestant had been living with 27-year-old dancer AJ but after he was given the boot, Curtis moved in to a place of his own and is now sleeping on a mattress on the floor.
Curtis told The Sun: “I’ve been kicked out, there was war. Two years is overstaying anyone’s welcome.
“I am sleeping on the floor though on just a mattress. I have a TV and it’s on two chairs. It’s a lad pad and a no-go zone.”
Former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional AJ added: “His wardrobe and clothes are just slung in there.”
Although Curtis is dating his ‘Cinderella’ co-star Sophie Sheridan, he insisted he has no plans to move in with her and is enjoying his “lad pad” solo for now.
He said: “I am not living with my girlfriend, I am happy to say I am living on my own.”
Sophie is Curtis’ first high profile relationship since splitting with his ‘Love Island’ girlfriend, Maura Higgins in 2020.
Maura went on to date Chris Taylor and then Giovanni Pernice but Curtis did not have a serious relationship until he went public with Sophie this year.
A source previously said: “The pair met when they both starred in panto ‘Cinderella’ last year after they developed a spark on the stage.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Anita Dobson no longer watches ‘EastEnders’.
Although the 73-year-old actress played one of the soap’s most memorable characters, Queen Vic landlady Angie Watts, from 1985 to 1988, Anita admitted she no longer tunes in to see what is happening in Albert Square.
She told The Star newspaper: “I haven’t seen EastEnders for quite a long time. I don’t watch TV much. I don’t have time – I’m too busy. I don’t move in the world of soaps anymore.”
Angie’s stormy marriage with her womanising husband, ‘Dirty’ Den Watts was a huge hit with viewers and featured a dramatic moment in the Christmas Day 1986 episode when a record-breaking 30.1 million viewers watched Den serve Angie divorce papers.
Anita left the soap in 1988 and Angie died off-screen in April 2002 when she died of cirrhosis of the liver.

“Anyway, I didn’t die. I’m incredibly grateful that I now have a life to lead again. I’m good, I’m here, and I’m ready to rock.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shayne Ward and his wife Sophie Austin were shocked to welcome a baby boy recently.
The ‘X Factor’ winner and the former ‘Hollyoaks’ star had been told at a pregnancy scan that their second child was a girl and they were both left astonished when Sophie gave birth to son Reign Thomas one month ago.
The 37-year-old actor told Hello! magazine: “For nine months you believe you are having a girl. But a healthy baby is a healthy baby. Your initial reaction is ‘Excuse me?!’ but more than anything I just wanted the baby to be okay. And he absolutely was.”
The 38-year-old actress added: “He came out and Shayne first clocked it, then the doctors came over and said: ‘We’ve got some news.’ I was thinking the worst, that something awful had happened, but they said: ‘You’ve got a baby boy!’ So I felt more relief than anything else.”
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star revealed the “heartwarming” way their daughter, five-year-old Willow was taking to becoming a big sister.
Shayne said: “We’ve let her come around him in her own time. It’s been really heartwarming to see how she’s built her own little friendship with him already. Every morning she says ‘Can I see him, can I see him?’ She was reading stories to him last night and is always wanting to be near him.”
Shayne – who won the ITV talent show created by superstar record executive Simon Cowell in 2005 – also gushed about having “one of each” after Reign was conceived naturally after he and Sophie tried IVF.
He said: “I can’t believe we have got one of each! We are so blessed with this journey that we’ve been on – after we did IVF, this all happened naturally. I wasn’t fussed if it was a boy or girl, I just knew I had to have another child. I was over the moon that I was a dad again.”

Louisa Lytton ‘felt relieved’ at wedding after three years of COVID delays

OHMYGOSSIP — Louisa Lytton “just felt relieved” at her delayed Italian wedding.
The ‘EastEnders’ star finally tied the knot this month with her fiance of three years Ben Bhanvra after they had to postpone their nuptials in Tuscany due to COVID 19 social distancing and travel restrictions.
The 33-year-old actress told OK! magazine: “I just felt relieved. “I felt like we had finally done it. It’s the same for any COVID bride. And I think we’re just so relieved.
Louisa – who has six-month-old daughter Aura with her new husband – said: “I remember us giggling at the altar, just thinking about how long it took to get us here.”
Ben added: “Yeah, we couldn’t stop giggling with tears in our eyes.”
Louisa “did not stop crying” throughout out the day due to the stress in the lead up, such as the threat of Lacey Turner, her BBC One soap costar, not being able to make it to the ceremony because of ongoing airport chaos.
She said: “I did not stop crying, because it had taken people so much to get there. I was waiting by my phone from the Friday for people to tell me that they had landed.
“And then they were saying, ‘Our train has been cancelled, so now we’re on the coach.’ We couldn’t believe how much effort people made to get out there for our special day, so I cried a lot when I saw people that I wasn’t sure if they were going to make it or not.
“Obviously, I cried walking down the aisle with my dad. It was so emotional. Me and him are such emotional people anyway, so we couldn’t stop.”
Business executive Ben admitted the extent he went to hide how “nervous” he was as his blushing bride came down the aisle.
He said: “All of my friends were crying, everyone was just so happy and relieved.
“I was nervous when I knew Louisa was walking down and when she had just got to the sides of the aisle, yeah, that’s when I turned around and tried to hold it in otherwise to be in trouble.”

To reveal the news they were expecting a son, the couple threw pink and blue at a blank canvas before covering it with a rainbow of paint splatters and handprints and peeling back vinyl letters to show the words “It’s a boy”.
And the pair were keen to reject gender stereotypes when revealing the baby’s sex.
Influencer Ella, 24, previously explained to HELLO! magazine: “Being part of the LGBTQ community, I am aware of the issues surrounding gender reveals, as they often reinforce gender stereotypes.

Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice land BBC travel show

OHMYGOSSIP — Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice are getting their own BBC travel show.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professionals are teaming up for ‘Giovanni And Anton: Adventures In Sicily’, which will see Giovanni introduce Anton to his homeland.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “Telly travelogues seem to be all the rage right now, but producers know they only work if their hosts have the right dynamic.
“With Giovanni they have the smooth sex appeal and in Anton they have his self-deprecating humour.
“Together they’re a no-brainer for execs.
“And of course they couldn’t be outdone by fellow Strictly stars Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli, whose jaunt round the UK proved a hit on ITV last year.”
The show will be filmed this summer and will air in the autumn after ‘Strictly’ returns to screens.
Both stars are on a professional high at the moment; as Giovanni is the reigning ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ champion after winning the glitterball trophy with his celebrity partner Rose Ayling-Ellis last year.
And Anton, 55 – who was ‘Strictly’s longest serving professional dancer – has wowed audiences after swapping the dance floor for a place on the judging panel.

Jane Campion worries that Netflix will be ‘more picky’ with films

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane Campion fears that Netflix will become “more picky” with films in response to its loss of subscribers.
The 68-year-old director helmed the acclaimed Western ‘The Power of the Dog’ for the streaming service but is concerned that other filmmakers may not get an opportunity with the company after it lost over 200,000 subscribers and is looking at a change of approach with movies.
In an interview with BBC, Jane said: “I do think they’re going to be more picky about other projects or, maybe, what’s sad is not taking risks on people without names.”
Despite the uncertainty, Campion is confident that Netflix would invest in her work because of her track record of making films.
She said: “I don’t think it would be hard for me if I wanted to do something because I’ve established a relationship and they’re incredibly loyal.”
Jane dismissed claims that Netflix have offered her a budget of more than $30 million to make the film but did confess that she wouldn’t have been able to get it to the screen without the support of the streaming giant.
The Oscar-winning filmmaker said: “They didn’t offer me that much, that would have been nice.
“They offered something close-ish and no, the film couldn’t have been made without them because we took it to the market and there were several different people interested. But we had budgeted the cost of it and the only people that were willing to go near that was Netflix.”
‘The Power of the Dog’ was nominated for 12 awards at the Oscars although Jane’s Best Director gong was the only prize it took home and the director had no problems missing out on Best Picture to ‘CODA’.
Campion said: “With the Academy it seemed that ‘CODA’ really captured the hearts of people. It was an easier film to understand and, you know, that’s the way it went and I’m happy for them.”

Tessa Thompson had more freedom on Creed III

OHMYGOSSIP — Tessa Thompson had “more freedom to improvise” in ‘Creed III’.
The 38-year-old actress reprises her role as Bianca Taylor – the love interest of Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) – in the latest ‘Rocky’ spin-off and was glad to have more creative freedom with Jordan making his directorial debut on the project.
Tessa told The Hollywood Reporter: “In the past, it’s been a lot of work to make sure that she has agency and an arc in the context of these sports films, essentially.
“I wanted to make sure that she’s not just moving the plot forward, and that she actually has something interesting to do. And I typically do that work with the writers… but this time around, I could do that work more actively with Mike. I also had a lot more freedom to improvise on the day than the past ones.”
The ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ star has featured in both previous ‘Creed’ movies and feels she has grown up alongside Bianca Taylor.
Tessa explained: “We’ve been making these films for almost eight years, and Mike and I have grown up a lot. So there are a lot of ways in which the trajectory of these characters also has an interesting sort of poetry to our own personal journeys.
“That’s the fascinating thing about playing a character over many years. You get to track your growth relative to theirs or sometimes in concert with theirs.”
Sylvester Stallone will not be playing Rocky Balboa in the movie – although he is credited as a producer – but Jordan says an element of the star will always be present in the flick.
He said: “I think that Sly let it be known that he wasn’t coming back for this one but I think, you know, his essence and his spirit… there’s always going to be a little bit of Rocky within Adonis.
“But this is a ‘Creed’ franchise, and we really want to build this story and this world around him moving forward. So, it’s always respect and always as s***-ton of love for what he’s built, but we really want to push and navigate Adonis forward and the family that he created.”

Graham Norton celebrates wedding with lavish Irish party

OHMYGOSSIP — Graham Norton reportedly hosted a lavish wedding celebration in Ireland over the weekend, after recently tying the knot.
The 59-year-old chat show host lives in London but maintains a holiday home in Ahakista in his native West Cork and welcomed more than 100 guests to a huge party at Bantry House on Saturday (09.07.22), according to The Irish Examiner.
The celebrations continued the following day, with a number of marquees set up for a party outside Norton’s Ahakista home.
Singer Lulu reportedly sang at the celebrations, with drag queen and gay rights activist Panti Bliss DJing and Irish dancing group Cairde putting on a performance.
There has been speculation that Norton and his partner were already legally married before Saturday’s event, which was believed to be a blessing ceremony.
One local resident told Cork Beo: “We knew Bantry House was closed for a private event, it was pretty common knowledge that it was a party for Graham and that is was to do with his marriage.
“We were hearing all sorts of names, Lady Gaga, Elton John was supposed to be singing., we’ve not seen any of them but there’s been a big buzz around Bantry.
“We could all hear the music from Bantry House on Saturday night – they certainly got the weather for it!”
The author and presenter was born in Dublin but grew up in Cork and maintains strong links to the area.
He has been recording his UK radio show for Virgin Radio from the C103 studios in Cork, before taking some time off.
He recently said: “I snuck in this year. I don’t think they know I’m there this year. Last year they posted a picture. So, this year, I just snuck in.
“I’ve done a few weeks in Bandon and now I’m off for a few weeks and when I get back, I’ll be back in the news tower in London and doing it from there.”
