Ex-Love Island winners Millie Court and Liam Reardon split

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Love Island’ winners Millie Court and Liam Reardon have split.
The pair won the ITV2 dating show and the programme’s £50,000 prize just under a year ago, but they have both separately taken to social media to confirm they have parted ways.
In a statement on her Instagram Stories, Millie, 25, wrote: “Hi everyone, to avoid any speculation Liam and I wanted to share with you that we have separated. It’s been a tough decision and I am gutted but it’s ultimately what is best for us right now.
“Thank you to every single one of you for supporting our relationship. Nothing will ever take away from the amazing experience we shared in Love Island and the past year and I wish Liam all the best in everything he does. We’re both ready for new chapters and I’m excited for what’s next. Love, Millie [heart emoji] (sic)”
Liam, 22, shared a similar statement, admitting he is “honestly so gutted” that the pair have “sadly separated”.
He wrote: “But thank you to every single one of you for supporting our relationship. Nothing will ever take away from the amazing experience we shared in Love Island and the past year we’ve been so lucky to both come into each other’s lives.
“We will both continue to be friends and I will remain as Millie’s biggest supporter in all that she does and I know she will always do amazing.

Michael Owen won’t appear on Love Island’s ‘meet the parents’ episode

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Owen has confirmed he won’t be appearing on Love Island’s meet-the-parents episode.
The former footballer’s daughter Gemma Owen is currently starring in the ITV2 show and fans had been hoping Michael might fly out to the Spanish island of Majorca to support her and be introduced to her new man Luca Bish – but the sports star has confirmed he’s leaving that job to his wife Louise.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ At The Races after watching his horse run, Michael explained: “My wife will do that duty. I’ll represent the horses and she’ll represent the daughter.”
Racing fanatic Michael added he has total faith in his daughter, insisting he is less worried about her turn on ‘Love Island’ than he is about watching his horse Box To Box race.
He added: “I don’t know what I’ll get from Box To Box. But I know what I’m going to get from my daughter. I’ve fathered her for 19 years so I’m pretty sure what I’m going to get from her.”
‘Love Island’ regularly features a meet-the-parents episode in which family members are flown out to Majorca and enter the villa to catch up with their loved one and meet their new partner.
It usually takes place towards the end of the series when the couples are more settled and fans had been speculating whether Michael would ever set foot in the villa himself.
The Sun previously reported there was a good chance of seeing Michael on the show as his diary appeared to be clear for that week.
A source said: “he end of July looks to be a golden opportunity for Michael to see Gemma.
“He’s notoriously private and anything could change between now and finals week but, all things considered, the odds on him taking part are better than ever,’ a source added to the publication.”
However, despite the snub Gemma will still get the chance to catch up with her mum Louise.
‘Love Island’ airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox. The dating reality show can be seen in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Danniella Westbrook recalls childhood trauma

OHMYGOSSIP — Danniella Westbrook found it “traumatic” visiting Television Centre for her ‘This Morning’ interview because of her childhood growing up in the industry.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress was telling co-hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond about doing lots of inner child work with a “fantastic therapist” she has been working with, when she admitted it was “hard work” to visit the brunch-time show’s studio in London’s White City on Wednesday (13.07.22), due to past memories.
She said: “I did a lot of inner child work, I did a lot of therapy.
“For me, eight or nine years old, coming into the studio here today, the building that you’re in, it’s hard work for me to come to this building because of growing up here as a child in the industry.
“So I found that quite traumatic. But it’s another milestone I’ve passed.
“I’ve come to a happy show, it’s a new time, new memories, I’ve worked through all that stuff, it’s behind me.
“You don’t drive along in a car looking in the rear-view mirror. You check it every now and again and you keep going forward, and that’s pretty much life.”
The 48-year-old star – who has previously battled drug addiction, and has undergone face reconstruction surgeries after her bones began to “rot away” due to osteoporosis – admitted she is “so excited” about turning 50 in 2023.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she added: “I’d like to be 50 this year. I’m happy to be alive after everything I’ve put myself through I’m so excited to hit 50.
“I’m waiting to be a nanny, hopefully. I’m just so happy with this chapter that I’m in.
“Putting the drugs down was one of the easiest parts. It’s putting the ego down that really is the hard bit. It’s the ego that kills you. It makes you relapse.”
In April, Danniella – who played Sam Mitchell on ‘EastEnders’ from 1990 to 2000, and again from 2009 to 2016 – admitted her drug habit would’ve killed her if it hadn’t previously been exposed.
Quizzed on whether her drug habits began when she became famous, she said: “They were there, but they weren’t as heightened.
“I didn’t have as much money as I did when I was working on a big show.
“I already had issues, a lot of preconceived issues as well but really the media saved me if anything more than once.
“By putting me all over the papers, by exposing me in a sense because I had to do something with my life, otherwise I would’ve ended up dead.
“For everyone down there’s an up, as they say. For me, just being exposed by everything, you’ve got to look at the positives of it.”

Jill Halfpenny to star in Yorkshire Ripper drama The Long Shadow

OHMYGOSSIP — Jill Halfpenny is to star in a gritty new serial killer drama about the Yorkshire Ripper.
The former ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Coronation Street’ star has signed up to appear in ‘The Long Shadow’ – a new ITV series about Peter Sutcliffe, who was convicted of killing 13 women and attempting to murder seven others between 1975 and 1980.
Jill will play Doreen Hill, the mother of murdered student Jacqueline Hill, who was killed by Sutcliffe in Leeds, England in November 1980. She was the killer’s final murder victim before his arrest in 1981.
The six-part series will focus on Doreen’s story and her battle to uncover what went wrong in the police investigation.
‘The Long Shadow’ also stars another former ‘Corrie’ castmember, Katherine Kelly – who plays the Ripper’s second murder victim Emily Jackson, who was killed in January 1976 after being picked up by Sutcliffe outside a pub in the city.
The show also features David Morrissey, Toby Jones, Stephen Tompkinson and Lee Ingleby and has been written by George Kay, the brains behind Netflix’s hit series ‘Criminal’.
Director Paul Whittington said of the series: “By placing the victims, their families and the survivors at the heart of this story, George has crafted an excavation of British social history that goes far beyond the infamy.
“His writing sensitively reveals and humanises the untold number of lives devastated by these crimes, and powerfully exposes the enduring legacy of the failings of the biggest manhunt in British criminal history. This is a vital story about class prejudice, pervasive and entrenched societal sexism and women simply not being heard that still has relevance today.”

The Russo brothers embraced new technology on The Gray Man

OHMYGOSSIP — The Russo brothers embraced new technology while making ‘The Gray Man’.
The directing siblings have helmed Netflix’s eagerly-awaited spy film and explained how they were able to apply “innovative” visual effects to the project.
Anthony Russo told ComicBook.com: “We did a lot. Joe and I have always been really fed by technology.
“We like finding new toys because it allows us to create experiences we haven’t seen before. Certainly, in this movie, we’ve used a number of things like the speed drone was not… When we sort of were able to put it to use, it hadn’t been used much.
“And I think it creates a sort of really stunning, exciting effect in the movie. A lot of visual effect work that we do is innovative and its innovative in ways that you may not notice.”
‘The Gray Man’ has an all-star cast, including Chris Evans as the psychopathic Lloyd Hansen, and Joe Russo hailed the Captain America star for taking risks with his selection of roles.
The 50-year-old filmmaker said: “(Chris Evans) is fortunate enough to be at a place in his career where he’s just interested in taking risks.
“So I think he really embraced the role. This movie is a real simple parable between good and evil. Both of these lead characters are killers, but one leans away from humanity and one leads towards humanity.”
Joe continued: “Chris’s character comes out of a lot of ideas and philosophies that are playing out in the world today. He looks and dresses reflective of some extremist ideas that are playing out in the world today. And he embraced that. He understood the assignment and he ran really hard at this notion that he was an agent of chaos.”

David Koepp slams alien inclusion in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

OHMYGOSSIP — David Koepp thinks it was a mistake to include aliens in ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’.
The 59-year-old screenwriter penned the script for the 2008 movie – which marked the return of Harrison Ford’s legendary adventurer after nearly two decades – but was unhappy with the inclusion of extraterrestrials in the film and tried to persuade director Steven Spielberg and franchise creator George Lucas that it wasn’t a good idea.
Speaking on the Script Apart podcast, David explained: “I was never happy with the idea (of including alien-like creatures in ‘Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’). When I came on, I tried to convince (Steven Spielberg and George Lucas) to change it – I had this other idea. They didn’t want to change it.”
The film received a mixed response from audiences and Koepp believes that the aliens played a big part in the lukewarm response.
He said: “I’m not saying mine would’ve been better. But I think that a lot of the pushback that movie got, in a larger sense aside from little things people might not have liked – that were too silly or whatever – the larger one was that (fans said) ‘We don’t feel like aliens should’ve been in an ‘Indiana Jones’ movie’. Fair enough, in retrospect, you’re probably right.”
Koepp has not been involved in the creation of the script for the upcoming ‘Indiana Jones 5’ and explained that he wanted new director James Mangold to have the chance to craft his own story after taking over from Spielberg.
He explained: “James deserves a chance to take his shot at it.
“I’ve done several versions with Steven. And when Steven left, it seemed like the right time to let Jim have his own take on it and have his own person or himself write it.”

Love Island’s Davide has doubts about Ekin-Su

OHMYGOSSIP — Love Island’s Davide Sanclimenti has doubts about Ekin-Su Culculoglu in tonight’s (13.07.22) episode.
The 27-year-old businessman is to voice his concerns to Coco Lodge, 27, and he will ask new bombshell Adam Collard – who took part in the show in 2018 – what the 27-year-old soap star was saying when she was in Casa Amor.
In response to being asked by Coco if he will “ever trust” Ekin-Su, Davide – who previously blasted the star after she went behind his back and kissed Jay Younger, 28 – replies: “Because of the past I don’t know if I’ll ever fully trust her.”
Dami Hope, 26, then says: “You need to build on that trust.”
Coco adds: “If the trust isn’t there it’s never going to work.”
Elsewhere, when he isn’t speaking to Davide, Adam goes out on a trio of dates after arriving in the villa for a second time.
He picks Summer Botwe, 22, Danica Taylor, 21, and 24-year-old paramedic Paige.
Paige – who was coupled up with Jacques O’Neill, until he quit the villa this week – jokes: “As if you picked me last!”
Adam says: “Do you think the best first or best last?”
Paige says: “I’ll ask you that question.”
She admits to Adam that “the little things matter most to me”, and later during a chat with the lads he admits one of the girls was “wifey” material.

Becky Hill performs in Love Island villa

OHMYGOSSIP — Becky Hill performs for the ‘Love Island’ stars in tonight’s (13.07.22) episode.
The Islanders are left in shock when they find out the 28-year-old star – who shot to fame when she appeared on the first series of ‘The Voice UK’ – will be heading to the villa to serenade them.
Paige Thorne, 24, says: “Becky Hill is going to be here tonight – what the actual F?!”
Ekin-Su Culculoglu, 27, admits she is a big supporter of the ‘Remember’ hitmaker.
She says: “I’m a huge fan of Becky Hill. A once in a lifetime opportunity!”
Becky took to Twitter to advise fans not to miss her performance.
She wrote: “i’ve heard there’s a brand new bombshell entering the villa tonight… to sing some tunes all i’m saying is you don’t want to miss this #LoveIsland @loveisland @itv2 (sic)”
Elsewhere in the villa, Luca Bish, 23, and Gemma Owen, 19, head out for a seaside date and the fishmonger jokes he feels like he is “going to propose”.
Speaking about what they like about each other, international dressage rider Gemma says: “I love listening to your conversations with the lads because I’m sat there literally wetting myself, but when it comes to us two you are like soft. You’re quite soft. It’s nice. Just something a bit about you.”
Luca says: “A little bit…”
Gemma replies: “Yeah, a little bit about you.”
Luca then says: “I haven’t met someone like you before. I think it’s rare to meet someone like you.”

Richard Blackwood was mugged at knife- and gun-point

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Blackwood has been mugged twice – once at knifepoint and once when someone held a gun to his head.
The 50-year-old actress is proud ‘Hollyoaks’ – on which he plays Felix Westwood – are going to be tackling the subject of knife crime with his on-screen son DeMarcus (Tomi Ade) because the terrifying issue is one that can affect all young people.
He said:” We’ve got an upcoming storyline about knife crime and we are really approaching it in a serious manner.
“A lot of these young kids are going through it right now, so we want to let them know we hear them and know what they are going through.
“There have been groups we have contacted to make sure the storyline is spot on. You can’t take something serious and make a farce of it. You have to take it seriously.
“When I was 17 I got mugged at knifepoint. Unfortunately knife crime has been going on for years. When the knife got pulled on me it was like a sword.
“My son also got a knife pulled on him aged 11. He had an iPhone 5 and I remember him saying to me, ‘I’m going to get a cheaper phone’.
“He had to adapt to what was going on in the street and go, I’m going to make myself less of a target.
“My son came through it though and I’m very proud of him.”
When he was 35, Richard was held up with a gun to his head outside a club in London and though he was terrified at the time, he knew it was important to return to the scene.
He told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “About a week later, I returned to the club because I had to DJ.
“My mum said, ‘Are you OK to go back to the club?’ I said, ‘Yes’. You either make me stay in my house and be afraid to go outside or be grateful I was able to live another day and attack life.
“There was no point [calling the police] – you just want to be as far away from the situation as possible. The right thing to do is call the police, but there is so much adrenaline and you just want to be as far away from that spot as possible.”
Richard believes ‘Hollyoaks’ is at the forefront of TV shows willing to focus on racial issues, though he thinks wider racial equality within the TV industry is a “slow mover” but he wants to play his part.
He said: “With myself being in the industry, I’m part of that bridge.
“Rather than expecting it to turn around just like that, it’s more about the part we play in turning it around.
“At times you don’t even get to see it, it’s the people behind you that get to benefit from what you’ve done.
“If you think about women’s rights. Emmeline Pankhurst.
“The Suffragettes. Emmeline didn’t get to see how things are for women now but you know she was a part of the push.
“It’s about laying your brick rather than thinking it’s got to start and end with you.
“I 100% want to be part of that change. It’s a burden I’m willing to carry. In life you either stand for something or you don’t and I’m willing to stand for something.”

Bruno Tonioli will be back on British TV

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruno Tonioli has promised British viewers “haven’t seen the last” of him.
The 66-year-old choreographer announced earlier this year he is leaving ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for good, having missed the past two seasons of the show because of COVID-19 travel restrictions, but the Italian – who is largely based in the US, where he is a judge on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ – has reassured his fans that he will still be making other British programmes in the future.
He told the Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Bizarre column: “You haven’t seen the last of me.
“I’m not moving to America full-time. I love London too much. It’s my home.
“You will still see me on British TV, that’s a promise. You can’t get rid of me that easily.
“There’s lots of exciting things in the pipeline.”
Bruno recently praised Anton Du Beke, his ‘Strictly’ replacement, and insisted the 55-year-old dancer has done a “fantastic” job on the panel so deserved to get the job permanently.
He said: “Anton has done a fantastic job. He deserves to be on that seat. Anton is brilliant. He will be brilliant.”
Bruno admitted that the opportunity of working with Disney+ for ‘DWTS’ was too big of an opportunity to pass up and he could no longer continue to travel between London and Los Angeles every week.
He said: “I’m done I just can’t do it anymore. Going back and forth was too much.
“‘Dancing with the Stars’ has moved onto Disney+ and will be streaming live. It’s a big deal, it’s very very exciting.
“And because of the travel situations I can’t guarantee that I am going to be there because anything can happen.
“Last year I changed my ticket every week – they need continuity. I absolutely support them, it’s my decision.”
Anton serves on the judging panel alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Head Judge Shirley Ballas.

Natalie Portman enjoyed getting ‘bigger’ for Thor: Love and Thunder

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalie Portman thought it was “wonderful” to “get bigger” for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’.
The 41-year-old actress has returned to the Marvel franchise to reprise her role as Jane Foster/ Mighty Thor and she delighted in having to hit the gym ahead of filming because it is “unusual” for female stars not to be asked to lose weight for their work.
She said: “It’s pretty unusual and wonderful to be tasked with getting bigger as a woman.
“Most of the body transformations we’re asked to make are to be as small as possible and there’s an emotional and sociological correlate to that.”
Natalie – who has children Aleph, 11, and five-year-old Amalia with husband Benjamin Millepied – admitted the timing of making the film was particularly meaningful because she celebrated her milestone 40th birthday.
She said: “For someone to say, ‘Let’s see how much strength you can have.
“I turned 40 while making the movie and it was an incredible point in my life to say, ‘You’re going to be the fittest, strongest version of yourself.’ ”
But Natalie had to rely on CGI to transform her 5ft 3in frame to being a “huge” figure.
She told Sunday Times Style magazine: “It’s the joy of CG [computer generated] movies that someone can conceive of making a tiny little woman into a huge character.”
The ‘Black Swan’ actress and her choreographer husband “try to work one at a time” for the sake of their children and Natalie only agrees to long shoots overseas if her family can be accommodated too.
She said: “Mainly I’ve been working during the summer, or I’m [shooting at home] in LA or it’s a situation like ‘Vox Lux’, where I shot the entire thing in ten days.”

Ralph Fiennes says Schindler’s List role was a ‘no-brainer’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ralph Fiennes “didn’t even need to say yes” to starring in ‘Schindler’s List’.
The 59-year-old actor starred in the 1993 drama movie – which centres on a German industrialist who tries to save his Jewish employees from Nazi persecution -and Ralph admits he didn’t have any hesitation in joining the Steven Spielberg-directed film.
He told Collider: “I had met Steven briefly, as one of many people he was meeting, and then I didn’t even … I mean, the part was great clearly and then when the offer came through it was a no-brainer. It was wonderful.
“I think there are moments you’re lucky to have as an actor when you’re asked to be part of something that feels like it’s going to be quite momentous. I mean, for Steven, it was going to be his passion work, I think.
“No, it was a no-brainer – I was delighted. I didn’t even say yes. I didn’t even need to say yes – it was a given.”
‘Schindler’s List’ is based on the 1982 non-fiction novel ‘Schindler’s Ark’ by Thomas Keneally.
The movie is widely regarded as one of the best of Spielberg’s career – but the legendary filmmaker previously revealed that he almost gave the project to his friend Martin Scorsese.
He shared: “I thought Marty would do a great job with it. He wouldn’t back down from truth or violence. But the minute I gave it to Marty, I missed it. I’d given away a chance to do something for my children and family about the Holocaust.”

Adam Collard returns to the Love Island villa

The 26-year-old personal trainer appeared in the 2018 series of the show, and he’s now looking for love once again.

The reality star is now determined to find a lasting romance this time around.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Adam genuinely wants to see if he can find love.
“He and Zara dated for eight months after leaving the villa and while that didn’t work out, he trusts the process.
“For this year’s Islanders, the whole concept will be totally mind-blowing – not only is Adam gorgeous but he knows how the show works – if any of the girls really are in there for money and fame not love, Adam will suss them out.
“This is going to cause fireworks.”
