Viggo Venn entered Britain’s Got Talent ‘as a joke’

OHMYGOSSIP — Viggo Venn entered ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ “as a joke”.
The 33-year-old comic – who beat dancer Lilliana Clifton,13, and magician Cillian O’Connor, 13, in the final of the ITV1 talent competition – only auditioned because he had a tight five and hoped at best it would lead to a “funny clip on the internet.
He told Metro.co.uk: “I was doing five-minute open mics, and that’s kind of the length of an audition on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, so I thought it would be funny to enter as a joke. I thought I’d be the first one out.
“I was wearing a red vest, and I thought it would be funny to bust it out when I got all the red crosses. I thought maybe it could then be a funny clip on the internet.”
Viggo – who will perform at the Royal Variety Show later this year as a result of his win – admitted that he “felt a bit embarrassed” about his victory as there were some backlash to it.
He said: “I felt a bit embarrassed about winning as obviously there are some people who didn’t vote for me.
“It’s kind of surprising for a clown to win because we’re supposed to lose and lose and lose. It’s our thing, then the one thing I won is Britain’s Got Talent.
“I’m not complaining though.
“I heard I broke a record in the semi-final with 43 per cent of the vote.
“I’ve been trying not to analyse why I won too much, but I think people needed some joy after difficult times. I’m not political, I don’t bring anything except joy.”
Viggo explained that he missed his intital ‘Lorraine’ booking because he wanted to do his “own final” in a comedy club.
He said: “The night after the BGT final I booked in to do a live show at a comedy club in London. I thought it would be hilarious to do my own final after the actual final as a joke.
“I honoured the booking even though I did end up winning – some people were shocked I was there. I did a show at 10’o clock on Monday evening, and then I got some chest pain.
“I needed to have some rest.”

Corrie star Bill Roache ‘didn’t want’ Ken Barlow role

OHMYGOSSIP — Bill Roache nearly turned down his role on ‘Coronation Street’.
The 91-year-old actor has appeared in the ITV1 soap opera as Ken Barlow since its very first episode aired in December 1960 and holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-serving actor on television but admitted that he was initially hesitant about taking on the job when it was thought that the programme was only going to have a short run because he was also starring in a play at the same time.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, he told showbiz reporter Ria Hebden: “It was only going to run for about 11 weeks and I didn’t really want to do it because I got the lead in a play at the time and I was waiting for that to go out. My agent said ‘It’s a sort of comedy in the North West’ and I said ‘Oh I don’t want to do it!’ But he persuaded me to do it, thank goodness. And here I am!”
Meanwhile, the legendary soap star – who received an OBE in the 2022 New Year Honours for services to drama and charity – is gearing up to jump out of an aeroplane for charity and insisted that his age will not hold him back because he has a “use it or lose it” attitude towards health in general.
He added: “I’m doing a skydive on Sunday morning, it’s for a community cause and to help the homeless. If anyone wants to sponsor me, go to GoFundMe and look for Bill Roache.I don’t believe you should acknowledge your age. You should do what you enjoy doing. As you get older, people bring you chairs and tell you to take it easy. No, if you don’t use it, you lose it!”

Peter Dinklage embraces evil roles

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Dinklage loves playing villains.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ star features as antagonist Scourge in the new movie ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ and relishes getting the chance to be evil on the big screen.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Peter said: “It’s a lot of fun. Villains are, in my experience, the most fun you can have at the movies because they don’t care. And it’s the movies, so it’s safe.
“You love them because you’re safe from their actual… the reality of what they’re doing. I’ve played a few villains in my day, and I just find they’re fun because they don’t care.”
Peter completed his voice work as Scourge in a recording studio and was glad to have the guidance of director Steven Caple Jr. as he felt separated from the picture at times.
The 53-year-old star said: “I’ve done a few of them now. Mainly more kids’ films, because that’s popular with the animation; all that stuff. But this is definitely my first time doing something like this.
“And Steven, our incredible director, just guided me through the whole way. Because sometimes when you’re not on the set, when you’re sort of after the fact, because they’ve already filmed the entire movie, you feel a bit removed from the experience.
“And you’re in a booth in Manhattan, not on location with things going off around you.”
Peter explained that he made the most of his “growly” voice to get a menacing tone across on screen.
He said: “What Steven did was just get me fully informed what’s happening in the film with the characters to get you immersed in there as much as possible, and then just have fun with the voice.
“It’s the villain of the piece. You got to sound threatening, scary. And then when he is with Unicron, his boss, there’s a bit of servitude there that you have to just sort of balance in the hierarchy of things.
“If you want low and creepy and growly, I’m your guy.”

Gal Gadot aims to create new female action hero in Heart of Stone

OHMYGOSSIP — Gal Gadot hopes that ‘Heart of Stone’ launches a new female action hero.
The 38-year-old actress stars as agent Rachel Stone in the Netflix spy thriller and hopes that the character can match the legacy of male spy heroes such as James Bond, Jason Bourne and Ethan Hunt from ‘Mission: Impossible’.
Gal told Empire magazine: “I realised that there was an audience for a female action protagonist.
“I grew up watching Bond, and ‘Mission’, and Bourne. I wanted to create a really strong, female-driven action movie that is for everybody, not a male story that’s been done many times already.”
An early image from the film – which is slated for release in August – shows Gadot’s character skipping across an exploding blimp but the ‘Wonder Woman’ actress claims that the scene was actually toned down.
She explained: “The scene was even crazier, at a higher altitude, and we got into the science of it and dialled it down so that a human could do it.
“That was something I wanted to really make sure we nailed. That could be done by people.”
Gal had to spend time in a wind tunnel to recreate the challenging conditions of the scene but revealed that she has to be reined in by the stunt team at times.
The ‘Red Notice’ star said: “What I can do as an actor, I’ll always go for it and… fight with intention and really perform that.
“The crazy, crazy stuff, I can’t, they won’t let me!”
Gal recently admitted that she suffers from imposter syndrome.
In a cover interview with L’Officiel magazine, she said: “It’s funny, I always feel like I have this imposter syndrome, because I feel so lucky and I’m so happy that I get to do what I really, really, really love.
“I always feel like, ‘I hope they’re gonna like it.’ There’s never a moment when I’m like, ‘They’re gonna love this.'”

Corrie’s Helen Flanagan recalls ‘horrible’ time she lost her daughter Delilah

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Flanagan has recalled the “horrible” time her daughter went missing.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star detailed how she got a “sinking feeling” when she couldn’t find her seven-year-old daughter Matilda in the supermarket.
The 32-year-old actress told New! magazine: “I must have turned my back for a second.
“I remember having this horrible, sinking feeling. I always keep an eye on my kids but I couldn’t see her for about a minute.
“There’s nothing worse than that, it’s the worst, worst feeling ever.”
They are good with that but you need eyes in the back of your head.”
Last month, Helen spoke about she handles raising her three kids with her footballer ex Scott Sinclair, 34 – who, along with Matilda she has four-year-old daughter Delilah and two-year son Charlie – after they split last year after 12 years together.
She told the Sun newspaper: “I co-parent with Scott. We were together for a long time. So he lives with his mum in Bristol, and I live in Manchester with the kids. I get on really well with Scott’s mum.
“I was with Scott aged 19-31, so that’s why I get on so well with his mum. So honestly, it makes my life so easy because we hang out together.
“It’s really nice. It’s pretty drama free as I get on really well with her.
“The kids see their dad all the time, they see their nana a lot. We’re always in Birmingham a lot to meet with the kids half way.
“The kids have an amazing time when they are with me too. I have a friend that helps me, because obviously I work as well.
“I work nearly every day so I do have a friend that comes to help me because well, I’m not a superwoman. We do mum things, the kids all have different activities too.
“Then when they go to their dad, they have a lovely time with him. They’ve just been to Dubai actually for a week with their dad and had a lovely time.
“So I missed them when they were away, but it was a shock to my system when they were back. ”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ contestant also explained she feels like mums can’t “ever win”.
Helen said: “As women I don’t think we can ever win. I’ve got friends who don’t work at all, stay at home.
“Then they feel bad they are not working. Then I’ve got friends who work all the time and they feel guilty because they are working all the time.
“I just feel as a woman you can never win. I do feel like the happier you are as a mum, the better it is for your child.”

Harry Hill used to get ‘drunk’ to watch TV Burp

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Hill used to get “drunk” to watch ‘TV Burp’.
The 58-year-old comedian used to “force” his daughters Winfred, Frederica and Kitty to watch his beloved comedy show on a Saturday night before being properly sozzled to enjoy the 2000s talent show, ‘The X Factor’ after he began penning the next week’s episode.
Speaking to fellow comedian Rob Brydon on his podcast ‘Brydon And’ podcast he said: “I’d start writing ‘TV Burp’ on a Saturday.
“Then I’d go downstairs, have a few drinks with the family, and we’d watch ‘TV Burp’ because I’d write it a week ahead.
“I’d force the kids to watch it. Then after ‘TV Burp’ was ‘The X Factor’. So I would watch the ‘The X Factor’, but I’d be drunk.”
Last month, Harry admitted that his show – which ran from 2001 to 2012 – was actually ‘quite harsh” and eventually people stopped letting him use footage from their programmes like telly chef Jamie Oliver, 48.
He said: “We always used to say it was a celebration.
“But the truth is, if you look at it, some of it was quite harsh.
“I think we did go a bit far. After a while, Jamie Oliver didn’t let us any clips of his shows.”
The former ‘You’ve Been Framed’ host also revealed that he gets asked if he is reviving the fan favourite show – which came to an end in 2012 after a decade on air – “at least once a day” on the internet but would need bosses to ask to do the honour.
Harry said: “I get asked to bring it back at least once a day. If you go on social media, I get comments asking for it to come back.”.
“That would have to be the first step. And ITV hasn’t done that.”

Vanessa Feltz: ‘I wish there was a fat jab years ago!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Feltz would have been “spared so much stress” if a weight-loss jab had been invented earlier.
The 61-year-old TV star has been open about her battle with her weight over the years and following the news that the NHS is to offer Wegovy, a weight loss injection also known as semaglutide to tackle obesity, admitted that even though she “hasn’t looked back” since having a gastric bypass in in 2019 and losing five stone, she would have “loved” the option of a weekly jab to shed the pounds.
Writing for The Sun newspaper’s Fabulous magazine, she said: “Even with the best intentions and utmost willingness that I’ve had, my weight has fluctuated wildly over the years. My journey has been well documented. I slimmed from a size 22 to a size 10 between 1999 and 2000, but I ended up putting it all back on.
“I managed to lose two stone again in 2004, but yet again it returned. In 2007 I managed to drop 3st, but despite all the willpower I could muster, I couldn’t keep the weight off and I ended up back at size 22. By 2019 I decided to have a gastric bypass, where a small pouch is created in the stomach and connected to the small intestine, bypassing the rest of the stomach, so you take in less food and feel fuller for longer. Finally it worked, and all together I managed to lose five stone.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star went on to explain that regular medication to manage her weight would have been a more appealing alternative to the invasive surgery after going to such “extreme” lengths to solve her problems.
She added: “But looking back, I’d have been spared so much turmoil, stress and upset if only this incredible drug had been available. Occasionally injecting yourself with medication sounds like a walk in the park compared to having two major surgeries. Since the gastric bypass I haven’t looked back.
“These days I’m a size 12-14, eat less, can control portion size and have tons of energy. But let’s be honest, it’s pretty extreme to have to go to those lengths, isn’t it? If I could have had a weekly injection instead, I would have loved it.”

Michelle Visage ‘lost three and half stone’ without surgery

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Visage has managed to lose three and a half stone without surgery,
The ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ judge got into lifting weights to deal with the “loose skin” after her dramatic weight loss and urges women scared of the exercise regime making you bulky that this isn’t the case.
The 54-year-old TV star told OK! magazine: “I work out six days a week and I take one day off – it is a lot but time is ticking.
“I lost three-and-a-half-stone recently and, as a woman of a certain age, I had this loose skin and I didn’t want to have surgery. I thought, ‘How am I going to make this appear tighter and change the shape of my body without having it surgically altered?’ So I started heavy lifting.
“I think a lot of women in particular are scared of lifting weights because you hear, ‘Oh, I don’t want to get too big,’ but that’s just not going to happen. It’s not how it works.”
Michelle fought back against the “stigmas” surrounding the menopause as she advocates finding a “hormone specialist” because GPs don’t really know the ins and outs.
She said: “With menopause, my God, you don’t need to struggle. There are answers and there is help – you just have to ask your doctors. And I would always recommend going to a hormone specialist because most doctors really don’t know what you need to do to help you out.
“Stigmas are so silly. I think that in the 1950s they were a thing, but that doesn’t exist any more.
“We have to really just keep breaking down the boundaries because it shouldn’t be taboo to talk about something that happens to every single woman. You can’t avoid it. There’s not one woman who’s going to bypass it. So they have to know they’re not alone and they don’t have to suffer.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant – who has daughters Lillie, 23, and Lola, 21, with her husband David Case, 54 – believes there is something unique about the Brits cope because they “don’t like to ruffle feathers”.
Michelle said: “Because you’re more polite, you don’t like to ruffle feathers. You don’t like to even speak up for yourself at times. You apologise a lot – unnecessarily so – and you certainly don’t need to apologise for coming through menopause. This is part of life. So no apologies. Those stigmas? Talk about them and get the help you need.”

Lorenzo Di Bonaventura makes bold Meg 2 promise

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorenzo Di Bonaventura has promised that ‘Meg 2: The Trench’ will be bigger and bolder than the original film.
The 66-year-old movie producer is involved in Jason Statham’s forthcoming shark sequel and has promised that the fun will be ramped up in this installment.
Quizzed by Collider on how the flick has been performing at test screenings, Lorenzo said: “It’s really held its appeal, so in making this movie, one of the things we learned is you could add more comedy than we originally thought in a shark movie, in a way.
“So I think this movie is probably funnier. There’s certainly some big laughs in it. There’s more shark attacks. There’s more crazy ideas that we’ve tested out on the audience.
“So the movie, it’s testing well, but more importantly, the audience seems to be relating to it very similar to the first movie.”
Di Bonaventura explained that audiences will cope with more shark attacks due to the lack of gore in the film.
He said: “They push back on the blood. As long as you don’t do gore, they sort of accept the fun nature of it, you know? And I think because of the fun nature, it takes the edge off it a little bit.
“But at the same time, the movie needs to have some edge, or else it feels like it becomes a spoof or something, and that’s definitely not what it is.
“So, I think the trickiest thing about ‘The Meg’ is keeping that balance between violence and humour.”
The producer is refusing to discuss whether Statham’s character Jonas Taylor punches a shark in this movie.
He said: “Maybe we top that idea. He might tap in a really violent way. He kicks a shark!”

Nick Jonas lost out on Wicked role

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Jonas missed out on a role in the ‘Wicked’ movie.
The 30-year-old star has revealed that he and his older brother Joe Jonas auditioned for the part of Fiyero in the upcoming film adaptation of the hit musical but missed out to ‘Bridgerton’ actor Jonathan Bailey.
Nick told Variety: “Yes, it’s true. Joe and I both went out, and we didn’t get it. But that’s the life of an actor.
“The role was Fiyero. I think it went really well. I was very happy coming out of the room. I’m a huge fan of the show, and that’s a role I always thought it would be fun to play.
“But I think Jonathan is going to do a great job, and I’m sure the movie is going to be great.”
Nick has a role in Robert Schwartzman’s film ‘The Good Half’ as a writer named Renn who travels home to Cleveland for his mother’s funeral and the star felt he had a deep understanding of his character.
The Jonas Brothers singer said: “I felt like I understood the voice of the character. When we find him, he is going through one of life’s most challenging moments, the loss of a loved one. I’ve experienced that in my life, and it was one of the hardest things I’ve gone through.”
Nick continued: “Robert and I really trusted in one another and built an environment on set where we understood what’s on the page, but had freedom to put it in your own voice.
“It was empowering. And we got to shoot in my home state of New Jersey.”
Nick also explained that he has found it challenging to juggle both his acting and music commitments.
He said: “In the last few years, it’s been harder because music has been the more dominant of my two gigs. But throughout Covid, I doubled down on my production company and building out my development slate in film and TV. A lot of these projects are things I intend to star in as well.
“So then it’s just about working backwards with my team to find the windows that make the most sense.
“The long-winded way of answering your question is, yes I certainly want to see more acting projects on my schedule.”

James May on The Grand Tour’s future: It might be time to let someone else have a crack at it

OHMYGOSSIP — James May has suggested he and his co-hosts are “getting a bit old” to do ‘The Grand Tour’.
The former ‘Top Gear’ star – who co-presented the BBC motoring programme alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond from 2003 until 2015 – has insisted that the Amazon Prime Video series, which the trio launched in 2016, was never axed but is “naturally” coming to a close.
He told RadioTimes.com: “I mean, some people have said we’ve been cancelled.
“But really we’re getting quite close to the end of our contract, but we didn’t really have any particular plans to keep going because we’re all really just getting a bit old. It might be time to let someone else have a crack at it.”
The 60-year-old star insists it’s not the last time fans will see himself, Jeremy, 63, and Richard, 53, on screens.
He said: “It doesn’t mean we’re going to stop making TV. We might still make our individual things – farming or science or mending cars or whatever it is we get up to.
“But I don’t know, to be honest. No one has told us to go away. It’s reaching its natural end, like parties do. There comes a point at 4am when it is over.”
First up is ‘The Grand Tour: Eurocrash’ special, which will arrive on Prime Video on June 16, and sees them tackle a 1,400-mile trip from Gdansk in Poland, through Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia.
And there are two more “scary” seasons to come.
Jeremy said: “For the next one – in fact, the next two – we’re back on slightly scary ground, doing things that we used to do when we were in our 30s and 40s. But now we’re in our 50s and 60s, so I’m slightly nervous about the next two.”
James admitted there is a “massive contrast” between the upcoming series, and joked one part, in particular, could “finish Clarkson off”.
He added: “We’ve got some interesting cars to drive. There’s going to be a massive contrast with this east European one. Where we’re going next is quite tough, with camping, which might finish Clarkson off.
“Hammond will love it because he loves camping. I’m pretty excited about it because it’s a bit of the world I’ve never been to, it’s slightly dangerous and edgy.”

‘The Royle Family’ stars Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston joining ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’: ‘It’s a full-circle moment!’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Royle Family’ stars Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston are joining ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’.
The 83-year-old star and the 79-year-old actress, who played married couple Jim and Barbara Royle on the beloved ’90s sitcom, will chat through some of the week’s most memorable TV moments alongside famous faces such as Denise Van Outen, 49, Rylan Clark, 34, Mo Gilligan, 35, Nick Grimshaw, 38, and 52-year-old Zoe Ball.
Ricky called the new job a “full circle moment”, saying: “When it first aired ‘Gogglebox’ was called ‘the real Royle Family’ so this is a full circle moment, Sue and I together again, in front of the box!”
‘Gogglebox’ was narrated by ‘The Royle Family’ creator Caroline Aherne before she died aged 52 in 2016 after a lung cancer diagnosis, and the role has now been taken by Craig Cash, 62, who played her character Denise Royle’s husband Dave on the sitcom.
Former ‘Big Brother’ presenter Davina McCall, 55, Chris Packham, 62, and comedian Katherine Ryan are also joining the new celebrity ‘Gogglebox’ series.
The 39-year-old stand-up, who will be appearing alongside her husband Bobby Koostra, 40, told The Sun: “It’s usually just the dogs who get to see us watch TV, so we’re excited to welcome viewers into our home as we decompress in our favourite spot – the sofa.”
“We’ve been huge ‘Gogglebox’ fans for years and we are thrilled to be taking part.”
Katherine has 13-year-old daughter Violet from a previous relationship, as well as 23-year-old month son Freddie and seven-month-old daughter Fenna with her partner Bobby, who she first dated in high school.
She told ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ her and Bobby’s 2019 civil ceremony was “a lovely day”,
Katherine continued: “It’s perfect having a civil partner. We didn’t have a wedding. I didn’t need to put on a white dress and pretend to be a virgin – that ship has sailed!”

Lisa Snowdon got ‘nasty’ STD from abusive love-rat ex

OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Snowdon found out an ex-boyfriend was cheating on her after contracting a “very nasty” sexually transmitted disease.
The ‘This Morning’ presenter, 51, revealed she was “mortified” when she unearthed the truth about her partner – who she dubbed a “man about town” – being unfaithful, and detailed how he was emotionally and physically abusive to her when she was a teenager.
She said in her new self-help book ‘Getting Started’: “I found out finally about one cheating incident as he gave me a very nasty STD – the kind that only comes from putting it about, a lot.
“I was mortified – 19 years old and riddled with a vile sexually transmitted infection. It made my blood boil, and I felt beyond disgusted.”
Lisa, who during the height of her days in the fashion industry dated George Clooney, added “words” can be more hurtful in a relationship than “physical abuse”.
She said: “I have come to realise that words cut so much deeper than physical abuse, their impact creating such a blow that I don’t think you can ever forget them.
“This is how it started: words, digs, taking advantage of me, chipping away more and more at my self-confidence and my self-esteem. Bullying behaviour, pure and simple.”
The former ‘Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model’ host, who is now settled with boyfriend George Smart, also said about her ex’s coercive behaviour escalating: “His temper got worse, as he picked on me constantly, and not content with using all my money (he didn’t make any at all), he also cheated on me repeatedly while I was off on shoots.
“I know now he was deeply insecure and, in turn, tried to make me feel that way to keep control and power, which of course worked, as I wasn’t into mind games and certainly didn’t understand that was what was going on.
“Admitting this to you now, I hope it may save the life of someone who is the victim of an abuser.”
Lisa also told how she had “fun” sexually experimenting with women.
She said in her book: “I was, of course, deeply attracted to the opposite sex, and sometimes to the same sex, and I would be lying if I said I hadn’t experimented a little – that was fun, and I certainly have no regrets.”

Mark Wright’s new family travel series felt like epic therapy session

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Wright says his new family travel series felt like delving into a long therapy session.
The former ‘TOWIE’ regular, 36, tours Britain in ‘A Wright Family Holiday’ – which starts Thursday (08.06.23) at 8pm on BBC One – with his brother Josh and dad Mark Senior, and said it made him reflect on his life and how his busy career impacted his loved ones.
The Sun reported he confesses in one episode of the show: “I can’t say no to work because I’m so in fear of losing it all. I have this real struggle overcoming that fear – that one day it’s genuinely all going to be gone.
“It spirals, doesn’t it? If I feel like I’m going to lose it all, that makes me work more, see my family less, and makes my head feel a bit more crazy.
“I know I’ve not been me and who I should have been the last few years, and that’s what this (holiday) is about.”
The show comes after Mark’s dad Mark Sr was hospitalised with Covid, and his uncle Eddie died from the disease.
Mark’s footballer brother Josh, 33, has also been contemplating the end of his playing career, prompting Mark to want them to go away together for quality time.
He told The Sun: “I wanted to show my dad that it’s not all over yet. When he was sick and lost his brother, he thought about the end of life.
“He’d lost his buzz. And Josh has been restricted from all sorts of activities throughout his football career.
“It was for me to reconnect too. I’ve been a bit distant, in LA, always working, always chasing my dreams.”
Mark’s six-episode show sees the Wrights use their travels to go head-to-head in a range of adrenaline-fuelled activities, including go-karting in Llandudno, skydiving in Skegness and quad-biking in Northumberland.
Mark said about having a scare watching his dad bungee jump: “When dad got to the bottom, where it pulls you back up, his body went completely floppy. He was silent.
“We absolutely c****** it, thinking he’d passed out. Nobody knows this but we could see the crew running around and someone shouted, ‘I’ll get the defib!’
“Me and Josh – our hearts are in our mouths until he responds. To this day he says he didn’t pass out and he did it on purpose, but it was a very scary moment.”

‘Big Brother’ narrator Marcus Bentley ‘set for comeback on show reboot’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Big Brother’ narrator Marcus Bentley will reportedly make a comeback on the show’s reboot.
The 55-year-old voiceover artist’s work became a trademark of the reality series from its launch series on Channel 4 in 2000, and his Tyneside twang was a highlight until its last run on Channel 5 in 2018.
A TV source told The Sun about him making a return to the show when it is resurrected on ITV2 later this year: “It’s long been rumoured that he was returning to the show, though many dismissed it as wishful thinking.
“But now it’s a done deal between Marcus and the producers and fans are likely to be delighted.
“After all, his voice was an essential part of the whole Big Brother experience, and his return will add to the reboot’s authenticity.”
Along with Marcus’ booming “Day one in the ‘Big Brother’ house” announcement, it has also emerged the show’s live feed will return that enabled viewers to watch the housemates 24 hours a day, even when it was only them sleeping with virtually no action in the house.
It was available from the first series until it was stopped in 2009.
The option was brought back in 2010 – for a fee – but dropped when ‘Big Brother’ moved to Channel 5.
Former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant AJ Odudu, 35, and ex-T4 presenter Will Best, 38, are fronting the new show, due to return in the autumn.
AJ has said when she confirmed she was taking on the role: “I’m so excited to finally be able to say that, yes: I’m hosting ‘Big Brother’! I couldn’t be happier.
“Following in the footsteps of some of my favourite broadcasting legends to front such an iconic show is an absolute honour – and to do it alongside my amazing friend Will is the icing on the cake.”
Will added: “I grew up with Big Brother so getting a chance to host it with my mate AJ is a dream come true. I can’t wait to tell some housemates not to swear.”

Sir Anthony Hopkins: Thor was pointless acting

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Anthony Hopkins has described his work in ‘Thor’ as “pointless acting”.
The two-time Best Actor Oscar winner played the role of Odin, the father of Chris Hemsworth’s titular hero, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies but did not see the point of giving it his all as he did not find the project challenging.
