Jesse Garcia desperate for Flamin’ Hot to succeed for Latinos

OHMYGOSSIP — Jesse Garcia is desperate to make ‘Flamin’ Hot’ a success for the sake of Latinos in the film industry.
The 40-year-old actor stars in the movie as Richard Montanez – a Frito-Lay janitor who claimed to have invented the successful Flamin’ Hot Cheetos snack – and thinks it is imperative that Eva Longoria’s picture performs to give Latino actors and directors the chance to do more films.
Jesse told Variety: “Non-Latino projects, they have the luxury of failing. But if our work doesn’t work – or if for some reason is not successful – it’s a struggle to get the next project.
“That’s why ‘Flamin’ Hot’ was so super, super important to Eva, to me, to DeVon (Franklin, producer), to the rest of the creative team. If we make this movie as a success, (the studio execs) go, ‘OK, let’s see more. Let’s see more of Jesse. Let’s see more of Annie. Let’s see more of what Eva can do. It works. It makes money. People want to see it.'”
Jesse was only able to spend a small amount of time with Richard before playing him in the film but explained that he and his family were a big part of the movie.
The ‘Ambulance’ star recalled: “I really only had enough time to spend a couple hours with him before I came out to Albuquerque to start prepping, doing 80 costume changes.
“We were shooting incredibly fast, so I only had a little bit of time to sit with him. We talked about some stuff and exchanged numbers. I would ask about what he would say to people when he was handing out Cheetos, slang that he would use, if he carried things with him in his pocket – just the cool details that I could put in throughout the performance.
“He came to set and his family was in the movie. So they were very much a part of the movie; all along the process, they were there hanging out and cheering us on.”

Tom Holland will be ‘lucky’ to play Spider-Man again

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Holland would be “lucky” to play ‘Spider-Man’ again.
The 27-year-old actor played the web-slinging superhero in the Homecoming trilogy and hopes to reprise the role as it is not yet certain that he will be back for another movie.
Asked by Screen Rant which Spider-Man villain he would like to take on next, Tom replied: “That’s a really tough question. I mean, ‘Spider-Man’ has got arguably some of the best villains in the comic book world.
“I love the character. I love ‘Spider-Man’. I’d be lucky to play him again, but we’ll have to wait and see.”
Tom has played the role of Spider-Man/Peter Parker since 2016 and recently emphasised that he was eager to portray the legendary hero on the big screen again.
The ‘Uncharted’ star said: “I think as long as we can do justice to Peter Parker. As long as we can keep elevating and making the films better and making them mean more, then I’ll be there.
“I’d be stupid to say that I wouldn’t be the luckiest kid alive if I got to do it again, there’s stuff going on, but we’ll have to just wait and see what happens.”
However, any Spidey return will have to wait as Tom confirmed that he will be taking a year off work after starring in and executive producing the psychological thriller TV series ‘The Crowded Room’.
He told US TV show ‘Extra’: “I love the learning curve of becoming a producer. I’m no stranger to hard work. I’ve always sort of lived by this idea that hard work is good work. I really enjoyed it, but then again, the show did break me.
“There did come a time where I was sort of like, ‘I need to have a break.’ I disappeared. I went to Mexico for a week and had some time on a beach. And I’m now taking a year off, and that is a result of how difficult this show was.”

“That might be in the form of a performance with other pros or even this year’s Christmas special. Either way, the door remains open for her to return at a time and a manner of her choosing.”

Danny Dyer has perfect response after daughter Dani’s boyfriend Jarrod Bowen helps West Ham win

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer is delighted after his daughter’s boyfriend helped West Ham United to an historic win.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star has responded after Jarrod Bowen – who has been with his daughter Dani Dyer for around two years – scored the winning goal in Wednesday’s (07.06.23) Europa Conference League final win over Italian team Fiorentina.
Sharing a photo of Jarrod with the trophy on Instagram, Danny wrote in typical style: “F****** perfect.”
Dani shared a picture of her man’s post-match interview on her own account and shared a heart emojis as she added: “So proud.”
Fans of the Hammers have come up with an X-rated chant for Jarrod referencing his relationship with Danny’s daughter – with whom he welcomed twin daughters last month -and one supporter tried to crash his interview with the song.
Coming over to him during the chat on live TV, the man sang: “Bowen’s on fire, and he’s s******* Dani Dyer.”
The 26-year-old footballer pushed the supporter away and said: “Leave, leave, leave.”
Danny is unlikely to be annoyed by the incident, after he admitted earlier this year that he finds the chant “quite sweet”.
Appearing on ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’, he said: “There is a chant, which I think is quite sweet.
“When he scores, and he does score a lot, [the fans chant]: ‘Bowen’s on fire and he’s s******* Dani Dyer!’
“I’ve been over there when they’re singing it, jumping around. Is that wrong?”
And last year, he even referenced the chant on his own Instagram after Jarrod helped fire West Ham to last season’s Europa League semi-finals.
He wrote at the time: “Jarrod Bowen is on fire…and he’s… cuddling me daughter or something. So proud. What a f****** night. Love to all the West Ham family.”

Davina McCall hates that women loving sex is still ‘ridiculously taboo’

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall is disappointed that “enjoyment of sex for women” is still “ridiculously taboo”.
The former ‘Big Brother’ host explores the “super-depressing” conventions around female sexuality in her new Channel 4 documentary ‘Davina McCall’s The Pill’ and warned about the possibility of UK women following the footsteps of the US by removing their sexual freedom.
The 55-year-old television presenter told The Sun newspaper: “Enjoyment of sex for women is ridiculously taboo. That’s super-depressing, and we have to be very, very careful that we don’t go down the American route where we are more and more marginalised as sexual beings.
“Denying us access to contraception is a really huge part of that.
“I mean, the idea that it’s now harder to access contraception than it was ten or 20 years ago is obscene.”
Davina – who has daughters Holly, 21, Tilly, 19 and son Chester, 16, with her 54-year-old ex Matthew Robertson – questioned why the prevention of pregnancy should lead to a “compromise” in life.
She said: “Why should we compromise our quality of life to prevent pregnancy?”
The ‘Your Mum, My Dad’ host details in her own “chaotic and emotional” experience with the Pill as a teenager in the programme.
In the documentary – which airs on Thursday (08.06.23) – Davina said: “I went on the Pill when I was 15. I was madly in love with my first love.
“I said to my dad, ‘I’d quite like to go on the Pill’, and he said, ‘Well, wait until you’re 16’.
“And I thought, ‘I know what’s going to happen, I’m not going to wait until I’m 16’.
“I thought it was quite a grown-up attitude to take. So I took myself off to a sexual health clinic and they were very nice and very kind, and they suggested a Pill, and I took it.
“But my life was quite chaotic and emotional at the time — as it is for many teenagers — and it’s very hard to say how much of a part the Pill played in that. I’ve got no idea.”

James Buckley played Football Manager during birth of his first child

OHMYGOSSIP — James Buckley was playing ‘Football Manager’ during the birth of his first child.
The ‘Inbetweeners’ actor – whose sex-obsessed character Jay Cartwright once bragged about completing never-ending game ‘Championship Manager’ – is a big gamer and has put a lot of time into the football simulator.
He told RadioTimes.com: “I’ve put some hours in that. I was playing Football Manager when my first child was being born.
“Yeah, I took my laptop with me. There wasn’t much I could do. Like, you know, I felt a bit useless being there.
“I’m not a doctor or anything, so I just brought my laptop with me. Sat on a chair, next to my wife, and stuck on a bit of ‘Football Manager.’ ”
The 35-year-old star joked he managed to get through a lot while his wife Clair Meek was in labour.
He laughed: “Really rattled through. I think I did a whole season and managed to do a summer transfer window as well.”
When it comes to choosing the right team, James likes some variety in his gameplay.
He added: “It depends on how ambitious I’m feeling. Sometimes it’s nice to go with a Real Madrid or Man City or something like that, where you know there’s a chance to get some success.
“But then, I’m a Crystal Palace fan as well. So sometimes I torture myself and see, ‘Oh, what if I was in charge of Crystal Palace? Could I do a better job?’
“Turns out, I can’t. So it’s fine.”
Since ‘The Inbetweeners’, James has appeared in the likes of ‘Zipped’ and ‘White Gold’, and he’s returning to the small screen as wheeler-dealer Ashley in upcoming Channel 5 drama ‘The Hoard’.
He previously said: “I’m so excited to start filming ‘The Hoard’. Ashley is a guy who is confident in his convictions, despite some questionable morals, but I have a feeling he might have bitten off more than he can chew with this one!”

Janelle Monae not expecting Knives Out return

OHMYGOSSIP — Janelle Monae does not expect to return for ‘Knives Out 3’.
The 37-year-old actress had a key role as twin sisters Helen and Andi Brand in the whodunnit sequel ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ but is aware that the cast is likely to change completely for the third film, with the exception of Daniel Craig’s sleuth Benoit Blanc.
Janelle told ET Canada: “I would be honoured (to do ‘Knives Out 3’). But Rian (Johnson) is not going to cast (you) if you’ve already done ‘Knives Out’ with the exception of Daniel Craig, because he has to be the detective Benoit Blanc that comes in.”
The ‘Moonlight’ star joked that she could have “plastic surgery” that would allow her to return as a different actor.
Monae said: “Maybe I’ll get plastic surgery and I’ll just become a new actor and then I’ll audition and then I’ll get it. I love those murder mysteries.”
The singer and actress previously explained that she was not chasing awards recognition for the project and simply felt honoured to have a role in the Netflix hit.
She told Collider: “There is no awards committee that owes me anything. My reward has already come with the work itself.
“I’m rewarded every time I think about working with Rian Johnson. That’s the reward. When I’m working with Daniel (Craig), Kate (Hudson), Edward (Norton), Leslie (Odom Jr.), Kathryn (Hahn), Madelyn (Cline), Jessica (Henwick), Dave (Bautista), Noah (Segan), that’s the reward, right?
“Being in this film is the reward. Touching people. People watching the film two times, three times, four times, that is the reward. You know what I mean? You just go with gratitude and you’re pointing to something that you love and you’re talking about this experience that meant so much to you. All of that means just so much.”

Daniel Kaluuya dipped into Camden upbringing for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse part

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Kaluuya dipped into his childhood for ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’.
The 34-year-old actor features in the animated superhero flick as the voice of Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk and drew on his upbringing in the London borough of Camden to capture the essence of his character.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Daniel said: “Well, I’m from the area that Hobie is from. Hobie is from Camden, and that’s where I was born. So I just dipped into that. Camden is a very interesting place.
“I mean, it’s where punk was born, so it’s very counterculture at times. So I knew the essence and the vibe, because I’ve been around it my whole life. So it’s great to show that side of where I’m from.”
The Oscar-winning star admits that he finds it difficult not to change the way he delivers his lines when working on an animated project.
He explained: “I find it hard to not do it, so I just use my voice. The true communication and the true medium is the voice, so then you focus more on that.
“But I’ve done quite a few radio plays that are coming up. So I’ve done a lot of that, and it’s about playing the truth still and not playing for the last in the room. It’s about playing the truth of the scene, even if it’s funny.
“Playing what’s honest was always the priority, and the voice is the biggest communicator of what you want to get across.”
Daniel revealed that he did not hesitate to join the cast of the film as he loved its predecessor ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’.
He said: “I really wanted to be involved in it. It was just about building the character with Kemp (Powers), Chris (Miller) and Phil (Lord), and then making that work.
“But yeah, I really wanted to be involved, and the character they had drawn out for me was just so clear and so distinct.”

Tyrique Hyde locks lips with Jess Harding

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Love Island’s Tyrique Hyde has shared a kiss with Jess Harding.
The semi-professional footballer previously suggested that he wasn’t seeking anything romantic with Jess – but during the latest episode of the show, he kissed her on the lips as part of a challenge.
Tyrique kissed Jess after being asked to lock lips with someone who he “wanted a fun time” with.
However, he also kissed Ella Thomas on the cheek after being asked who he “wanted for a long time”.
Tyrique and Jess’ kiss came shortly after the sportsman hinted that he wanted to pursue a romance with Ella.
He previously told Jess that he wanted to get to know some of the other Islanders more closely before he made any kind of commitment.
He said: “It’s going well but I’m not closed off, I’ve said that from the jump to everyone.”
Meanwhile, before entering the villa, Jess revealed that every guy is “giving [her] the ick at the moment”.
The 22-year-old beauty also revealed that she was hopeful of finding her dream man on the show.
She said: “I feel like it’s fate because I’m saving myself for Mr Right in the villa!”
Asked what she tries to avoid in a guy, Jess shared: “When a guy stunts for money, that’s an ick. Showing off all their designer clothes because most of the time they’re probably fake anyway! Another one is when a boy runs for the train and the train goes without him. Lunch Boxes also – just go to Tesco and get a meal deal!”

Anne Diamond reveals she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Diamond has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The 68-year-old TV star has revealed that she was actually diagnosed with cancer on the same day she received an OBE.
Speaking to GB News, Anna shared: “You’re often taught that if something good happens to you, something bad happens, to slap you back.”
Anne co-hosts the weekend breakfast show on GB News, and although her cancer battle is not over yet, she’s already planning to make a return to the channel.
The veteran broadcaster – who previously hosted ‘Good Morning Britain’ for TV-am – shared: “Five months later, I am still not at the end of that journey, but I am well enough to return to work.”
Anne admitted that her treatment has been “very hard”.
The TV star added that she has “empathy” for anyone who is going through a similar experience.
She explained: “I don’t have any advice for people because I’m still going through it. I’m well enough to return to work but I had the full mastectomy.
“This is the first time I’ve talked about it so it’s quite difficult. The first operation I had was nine hours long. I don’t remember it, I was in and out.
“It was nine hours of removal and rebuild, that took a long time to get over. I then had a lumpectomy just to make sure they can trace the travel if the cancer has at all. Luckily I don’t think they did [track any].
“I’ve also had a lot of radiotherapy, which I found very hard. It has been a journey.
“I am not pretending for a minute I am extraordinary because I am fully aware that a quarter of women in this country are going through what I’ve just gone through and I don’t have any advice to give, I just have empathy.”

Bill Bailey to front Perfect Pub Walks

OHMYGOSSIP — Bill Bailey is to front ‘Perfect Pub Walks’.
The 58-year-old comedian will be joined by a different famous face each week as he takes a ramble between rural hostelries, enjoying the picturesque views and different tipples along the way, in the new four-part series for More 4.
Programme bosses are hoping to capitalise on the trend for more sedate viewing following the popularity of Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse’s show ‘Gone Fishing’.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Shows like ‘Gone Fishing’ hark back to a simpler age of telly when programmes were designed to let viewers unwind rather than be constantly titillated.
“Its success has shown there’s still a market for a concept that hooks the viewer in a more subtle way. Perfect Pub Walks taps into that, and Bill is the perfect figure to take the reins.”
According to the outlet, the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ champion will be joined on one episode by ‘Have I Got News For You’ star Paul Merton.
The programme will see Bill travel to the Peak District before heading to the West Country for walks in Dorset and his home county of Somerset, with the series ending in Suffolk.
The comic isn’t a stranger to long walks as last summer, he completed a seven-day, 100-mile trek along part of the South West Coast Path and raised around £110,000 in memory of his friend Sean Lock, who died of cancer in August 2021.
Bill walked from Bude in Cornwall to Combe Martin in Devon – which was one of his and Sean’s favourite treks – alongside other friends including fellow comedian Lee Mack.
And he previously revealed his late pal had a passion for the great outdoors, and admitted the pair always tried to make the most of their final years together by going on multiple trips.
He told ‘This Morning’: “He had been diagnosed with lung cancer a few years ago and it was at the time quite a blow, particularly when it was quite advanced.
“We’ve tried to make the most of the last few years. We spent a lot of time together and went on trips together. And he’s continued to work.
“We used to walk for miles. We’d talk about everything. Sean was brilliant company.”

Romesh Ranganathan: ‘The hustle mentality is bull****!’

OHMYGOSSIP — Romesh Ranganathan hates the “hustle” mentality.
The 45-year-old comedian has fronted shows such as ‘The Ranganation’ and ‘The Weakest Link’ during his career and even won a BAFTA for his work but explained that even though his upcoming tour is called ‘Hustle’, he feels quite the opposite about working in the industry.
Speaking during his upcoming appearance on ‘The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan’ – which will air on Channel 4 on Friday (09.06.23) at 10pm – he says: “It’s called hustle but the theme is kind of the opposite of that. I think the hustle mentality is a bit of bulls***. You know, those people who are like, ‘Do you know what you want to succeed?”
Romseh – who has Alex, Charlie, and Theo with his wife Leesa – went on to slam those who promote such an overly organised lifestyle and claim to have done more before 8am than anyone else before lambasting US reality superstar Kim Kardashian, who infamously told fans around the world that all they needed to do to succeed in life was to “get up off [their] a** and work hard.
He said: “What you need to do is get up at 5am, write down a list of things you want to do, go to bed for half an hour, get up at 6am, look at the first list, then go back to bed again, then eat a hearty breakfast, then get on the treadmill . . .  And finally at 8am, I start my day and I’ve done more than most of these other p***ks have done before their breakfast’.
“Shut up, I’m so done with that bulls***t. Kim Kardashian saying, ‘My advice is to work hard’. Go f ***yourself.

Ryan Reynolds and Sir Kenneth Branagh to star in Mayday

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Reynolds and Sir Kenneth Branagh are to star in ‘Mayday’.
The two actors will be directed by ‘Dungeons + Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ filmmakers Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley in the action adventure, which is being made in partnership between Apple Original Films and Skydance Media.
The movie is based on an original pitch from the directors to Skydance, and according to Deadline, the script was completed some time ago, well before the WGA strike began.
A start date for production has yet to be determined but the movie is likely to be the ‘Deadpool’ star’s next project.
Specific plot details are being kept under wraps.
Ryan recently questioned the idea of making a ‘Free Guy’ sequel, insisting he wasn’t sure if it was necessary to make a follow-up to the 2021 hit movie, even though it is already in development.
Speaking at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in London in March, Ryan told ‘Deadpool 2’ co-star Rob Delaney: “There is the potential to do a sequel to ‘Free Guy’, which would be fun.
“I would love it. But also like, does everything f****** have to be a sequel? I don’t know. Sometimes it’s OK to just do a movie and have it kick a** and then everyone go home.
“So you know, there’s a bit of a push and pull there, resisting the urge to just immediately say, ‘Ohh, doing a sequel will validate the first one.’
“No, the first movie validates the first one and then you can leave it at that. So I don’t know, we’re still talking about it.”
‘Free Guy’ director Shawn Levy confirmed last year that the sequel was “still in development” but he had no plans to rush the follow-up to the film – which also starred Jodie Comer and Lil Rel Howery.
He said: “It’s still in development. I don’t know if it’s in the cards, but it is very much still in development.
“It’s something that Disney and Fox want badly. I really try to not make sequels that don’t deserve to be.
“And it’s why I didn’t move forward with the ‘Real Steel’ sequel because I didn’t feel we had a second movie that could match or top the first.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Luke Pasqualino still gets recognised for his role in ‘Skins’.
The 33-year-old actor was in his late teens when he was cast as Freddie McClair in the E4 drama and has gone on to star alongside former ‘Coronation Street’ actress Michelle Keegan in military drama ‘Our Girl’ as well as a string of American TV shows but explained that all these years later he is still approached for his breakthrough part.
He told Metro newspaper’s SixtySeconds column:”It’s still ‘Skins’. ‘Skins’ was the very first job that had when turned 18. I think that is still the show that 1 get recognised from the most, just because of its cult following.”
The ‘Rivals’ star went on to add that there “wasn’t anything like” the angsty teen drama – which ran for seven series from 2007 until 2013 and also launched the careers of Hollywood star Nicholas Hoult and ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Hannah Murray but admitted that he was nothing like his character, who was into skateboarding and smoking.
He said: “There was nothing else like it at the time, so it stands out in a lot of people’s minds. I wasn’t anything like Freddie at all really. | didn’t skateboard,I wasn’t a smoker, I didn’t do any of that sort of stuff. But I think the loving, caring, sensitive side of Freddie is more like who I am as a person.”
Meanwhile, Luke revealed that he has something of a celebrity doppelganger in ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Ollie Locke and fans are always getting the two confused.
He said: “I get Ollie Locke from ‘Made in Chelsea’ a lot He’s a good friend of mine as well and I know he’s a very lovely person. So, I don’t really mind that!”

Jane McDonald signs up to Celebrity Gogglebox

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane McDonald has signed up to appear on ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ with her best friend.
The 60-year-old star – who was in a relationship with The Searchers drummer Eddie Rothe for 13 years before he died of lung cancer in March 2021 – asked her close friend and backing singer Sue Ravey to move in with her last year and took to social media on Thursday (08.06.23) to reveal that they will be watching TV together on the celebrity version of the Channel 4 reality show.
She tweeted: “I’m going to be appearing on ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ with my best friend Sue – it’s going to be an absolute blast! We’ve shared some unforgettable moments over the years but I am really looking forward to spending time together on this wonderful show.”
The ‘You’re My World’ songstress – who shot to fame when she took part in the 1990s BBC docusoap ‘The Cruise’ and went onto become a daytime favourite when she appeared as a panellist on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’ for almost a decade before hosting a slew of travel programmes for Channel 5 – previously explained that it was a “no-brainer” for herself and Sue to move in together because of how long they have been friends.
Speaking during a guest appearance on ‘Loose Women’ in 2022, she said: “Sue has moved in with me, thank God, because she’s a really good cook and she’s really tidy.
“It was a no-brainer for me and Sue because Sue and I have been friends for 30 years now. We’ve got the same humour, we like the same food. I have a house, she had a house. We don’t really have cross words. We both like our own space, and a lot of people thought we were a couple. There’s nothing wrong with that, but we’re not together together. I love her, but not that much!”
