OHMYGOSSIP — Sian Welby is set to become a co-host on ‘This Morning.
The 37-year-old TV presenter will co-host the ITV show alongside Dermot O’Leary next week, and Sian is already being tipped as a “star of the future”.
A source told MailOnline: “Sian has many years of presenting experience under her belt, she is very much ear marked as being a star of the future.”
Sian has already made a number of cameo appearances on the show, and she’ll now be given even more responsibility.
The source added: “She has done really well already on ‘This Morning’ so the bosses thought it was time to give her the reins to the whole show rather than just segments.”
Sian – who previously hosted the news on Channel 5 – is expected to bring something “fresh” to the long-running TV show.
The insider said: “Viewers love a new, fresh face on the show so everyone involved in it is really excited.”
Meanwhile, in October, Holly Willoughby announced that she was quitting as the co-host of ‘This Morning’ after 14 years on the show.

‘I would never want to force a connection!’ Jake Cornish reveals why he left Love Island All Stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Cornish departed ‘Love Island: All Stars’ because it wasn’t the “right time” for him to find love.
The 26-year-old star quit the villa after three just three days, and admitted he didn’t want to “force a connection” on the ITV2 dating show.
He said in a statement: “After a few amazing days in the villa, I’ve made the decision to leave ‘Love Island: All Stars’ as I’ve realised that now isn’t the right time for me to find love as I would never want to force a connection.”
Despite his short stint in the villa, Jake insisted he has “no regrets” from his time on the brand-new spin-off show.
Jake had an awkward reunion with his ex Liberty Poole in the villa.
The pair – who were affectionately known as Jiberty when they became an item in 2021 – were early favourites to win series seven, but their relationship fell apart following a dramatic Movie Night episode, and they ended up walking from the series just four days before the final.
But Jake has now admitted living alongside Liberty again on ‘Love Island: All Stars’ gave him an “opportunity to clear the air” with her.
He added: “I have no regrets whatsoever as I’m so glad I got to enjoy my time in the villa reuniting with some familiar faces as well finally getting an opportunity to clear the air with Liberty.
“I wish her and all of the other Islanders the very best and will be cheering them all on from home.”
At the end of Wednesday night’s (17.01.24) episode, it was revealed series one original Joshua Ritchie – an ex of current Islander Georgia Harrison, and ‘Geordie Shore’ star Charlotte Crosby – will be the next bombshell to enter the villa on Thursday night (18.01.24).
He said: “If somebody’s in a couple it definitely will not stop me. I always get what I want.”
‘Love Island: All Stars’ continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX, and airs in Ireland on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.

Emma Stone defends sex scenes in Poor Things

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Stone has defended the sex scenes in ‘Poor Things’.
The 35-year-old actress plays Bella – a woman who is brought back to life using the brain of her unborn child – in the Yorgos Lanthimos-directed movie, and Emma has hit back at recent criticism of the film.
She told BBC Radio 4: “Bella is completely free and without shame about her body.”
The Hollywood star insisted that she doesn’t want to be “naked all the time”. However, she also feels that it’s an important element of the film.
Emma – who stars alongside Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe – said: “So much of this was about being true to Bella’s experience. It [the sex] is obviously a huge part of her experience and her growth, as it is, I think, for most people in life.
“But I see it as just one aspect of many – her discovery of food, philosophy, travel and dance. Sex is another aspect.”
Whats more, Emma noted that Bella doesn’t feel any embarrassment about her body.
The actress said: “She doesn’t know to be embarrassed by these things or to cover things up or not dive into the full experience when it comes to anything.
“So for the camera to sort of shy away from that, or to say like, OK, well, we’ll just cut all of this out because our society functions in a particular way … it felt like a lack of being honest about who Bella is.
“I’m not a person that just wants to be naked all the time, but I am someone who wants to honour the character as fully as I possibly can. That’s part of her journey.”

Anthony Kiedis biopic ‘in the works at Universal’

OHMYGOSSIP — An Anthony Kiedis biopic is in the works at Universal Pictures.
The movie production company is said to have optioned the rights to the Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman’s searingly honest 2004 autobiography ‘Scar Tissue’, the same name as their 1999 hit.
According to Deadline, Kiedis himself is set to produce the feature film, which is currently in early development, alongside Brian Grazer, and Guy Oseary.
In Kiedis’ book, he wrote about his unconventional relationship with his father, who was addicted to drugs and shared them with his son.
The tome also covers the passing of founding Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Hillel Slovak, who died of a heroin overdose aged 26.
But 61-year-old star Kiedis has previously admitted he had regrets about penning the memoir, which once caused a rift with his bandmate Flea after he revealed in the book he had slept with his pal’s sister.
In 2016, Kiedis told The Sun newspaper: “I did regret the book for a while as there was some pain caused.
“But then, I started seeing the long-term positive reverberating. People were reading it in hospitals, in prisons and schools and it was having a positive effect.
“I realised that the whole point of writing that book wasn’t for me, but to show that somebody can go all the way down and come all the way back and have a productive, successful happy interesting life.
“And so whatever shame, pain or difficulty or discomfort I went through, then it was worth it because I get so many people coming up to me saying their kids had read it and got their act together because of it.”

The Traitors’ Diane Carson breaks silence on being ‘murdered’ in epic funeral episode

OHMYGOSSIP — The Traitors’ Diane Carson has admitted forging strong friendships with some of her co-stars “detracted” her intended gameplan.
The 63-year-old retired teacher was “murdered” on the BBC One show by the Traitors – British army engineer Harry Clark, 22, business manager Paul Gorton, 36, and veterinary nurse Miles Asteri, 36 – in an emotional episode on Wednesday night (17.01.24), which featured an elaborate funeral procession for Diane.
At the beginning of the epic episode, the Faithful – the remaining members of the group aside from the three Traitors – were unaware who had been killed off, and they had to correctly guess by answering questions about each other.
The Faithful correctly identified Diane, and it was a particularly emotional moment for Faithful Ross Carson.
He was revealed to be Diane’s son earlier in the series, and on Wednesday night’s seventh episode of the series he had to effectively had to watch his own mother’s “funeral” play out in front of his eyes.
Reflecting on her time on ‘The Traitors’, Diane told The Sun newspaper: “My strategy really was just to be myself and make sure I didn’t make hugely deep friendships.
“But there were some people whose personalities I was really drawn to, and that detracted from any sort of gameplay I had in mind.
“When you’ve made friends and you’re chatting and sharing bits of your life with somebody, it’s actually then really difficult to think they’re playing a really clever game, because you have made a connection and an assumption that they’re nice people.
“There’s like an inside voice saying, ‘Oh, if they can behave like that in this game then maybe they’re not great human beings’, which, of course, is not true. They were just playing a good game.”
Diane and Ross chose not to tell their fellow stars about their mother-and-son connection, but she has now admitted he nearly blew their plan in the early stages.
She explained: “He’d already started the secret incorrectly because he was supposed to tell everybody he came from Blackpool, but he immediately told everybody he came from Lytham!
“That threw my plan because I was going to tell people I was from Lytham, so I said that I came from Ireland.”
Diane was “murdered” after she was given a “poison chalice” to drink from by Traitor Miles.
But that eventually led to Miles’ downfall, as fellow Traitors Paul and Harry turned on him and he was banished by the rest of the group.

Helen Flanagan’s 8-year-old daughter suffered face paralysis on holiday

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Flanagan’s eight-year-old daughter suffered temporary face paralysis during a holiday to Bali.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress has told how her daughter Matila was struck down with Bell’s Palsy – a temporary weakness or lack of movement that usually affects one side of the face – in the Indonesian province, but fortunately it has “cleared” now.
Helen wrote on Instagram: “Matilda started with Bell’s Palsy on holiday.
“It’s cleared now as she had a course of steroids to clear but half her face was paralysed which was not ideal on holiday bless her. (sic)”
Helen revealed Matilda’s temporary paralysis was brought on because of a “bad eye infection”.
She added: “So glad it’s cleared now, it was brought on from a bad eye infection.”
Last year, Helen recalled a “horrible” time when Matilda went missing in a supermarket.
The 33-year-old star told new! magazine: “I must have turned my back for a second.
“I remember having this horrible, sinking feeling. I always keep an eye on my kids but I couldn’t see her for about a minute.
“There’s nothing worse than that, it’s the worst, worst feeling ever.”
Helen also spoke last year about co-parenting with her footballer ex Scott Sinclair, who she shares Matilda, Delilah, five and Charlie, three, with.
She told The Sun newspaper: “I co-parent with Scott. We were together for a long time. So he lives with his mum in Bristol, and I live in Manchester with the kids. I get on really well with Scott’s mum.
“I was with Scott aged 19-31, so that’s why I get on so well with his mum. So honestly, it makes my life so easy because we hang out together.
“It’s really nice. It’s pretty drama free as I get on really well with her.
“The kids see their dad all the time, they see their nana a lot. We’re always in Birmingham a lot to meet with the kids half way.
“The kids have an amazing time when they are with me too. I have a friend that helps me, because obviously I work as well.
“I work nearly every day so I do have a friend that comes to help me because well, I’m not a superwoman. We do mum things, the kids all have different activities too.
“Then when they go to their dad, they have a lovely time with him. They’ve just been to Dubai actually for a week with their dad and had a lovely time.
“So I missed them when they were away, but it was a shock to my system when they were back.”

Coronation Street bosses ‘give two major stars bumper contracts’ to keep them on the soap

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Le Vell and Sally Dynevor are said to have been given bumper contracts to remain on ‘Coronation Street’.
The duo have appeared on screen as Kevin Webster and Sally Metcalfe since the 1980s, and they are thought to receive £170,000 a year each for their roles, but now, it is claimed ITV has given them another big-money deal to retain their talents for another year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Sally and Mike are two of Corrie’s most beloved stars. Bosses were desperate to keep them and they were happy to sign. They both love the show.”
It has also been reported that soap legend Bill Roache – who has played Ken Barlow since the very first episode on 9 December 1960 – has also signed a new deal to stay with the programme for another year.
Sally made her debut on the soap in 1986 and was seen waiting for a bus when mechanic Kevin drove through a puddle and soaked her, but the incident led to the pair dating and they tied the knot later that year.
The couple went on to have daughters Rosie (Helen Flanagan) and Sophie (Brooke Vincent) together, but the marriage ended in divorce when Kevin had an affair with former Rovers Return landlady Natalie Barnes (Denise Welch).
Sally and Kevin remarried in 2002 and despite surviving Sally’s tryst with car salesman Ian Davenport (Philip Bretherton), the couple split up again when Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns) confessed to Sally with her dying breath during the 50th anniversary tram crash in 2010 that Kevin had fathered her baby, Jack.
Nowadays, Sally – who has worked as a barmaid, a knicker stitcher and a local councillor over the years – is married to Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine), while Kevin is married to fellow mechanic Abi Franklin (Sally Carman).
The news comes amid a host of exits being lined up for the soap, with Peter Ash leaving behind his role as Paul Foreman when the character is killed off later this year.
Former ‘Dancing on Ice’ contestant Lisa George – who has played knicker stitcher Beth Tinker since 2011 – will also be leaving.
A source said at the time: “She loves ‘Corrie’ and it’s in her bones but she feels now is the right time to move on and take on new challenges.”

Sharon Stone was ‘laughed’ at for Barbie film pitch in 1990s

OHMYGOSSIP — Sharon Stone was “laughed” at by studio executives when she pitched a ‘Barbie’ movie in the 1990s.
The ‘Basic Instinct’ actress recalled how film chiefs poured scorn on her idea for a film about the iconic toy doll and is grateful for the changes that have happened in Hollywood that led to Margot Robbie’s hugely successful blockbuster last year.
Commenting on an Instagram post showing ‘Barbie’ star America Ferrera’s speech at the Critics Choice Awards last weekend, Sharon wrote: “I was laughed out (of) the studio when I came (with) the ‘Barbie’ idea in the ’90s (with) the support of the head of Barbie.
“How far we’ve come. Thank you ladies for your courage and endurance.”
Sharon, 65, is not the only actress who has seen a ‘Barbie’ movie fail to materialise as Anne Hathaway had held initial talks with both Sony and Mattel about starring as the doll in a picture.
However, the ‘Armageddon Time’ star thinks it is “lucky” that her movie was shelved as Greta Gerwig’s film proved to be a smash hit when it was released last summer.
Speaking on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, she said: “What’s so exciting about what Greta and Margot and that phenomenal team [did] is they hit a bullseye.
“The bullseye caused the entire world to reach this level of ecstasy. Now imagine that version…that much energy, that much anticipation, that much emotion…but it’s not the right version. I actually think of it as a lucky thing [it didn’t get made].”
Anne doubts that her movie could have lived up to the hype surrounding Margot and Greta’s project.
She said: “If I believed that the version I was attached to could have done that, I might feel differently about it, but I genuinely think their film was the best possible version.
“It’s easy just to be thrilled and happy [for them]. I love watching women kill it. To do so well, so undeniably that they actually had to write new records…come on! I think it will probably make things better.”

Binky Felstead ‘in talks’ with TV bosses about Made in Chelsea spin-off with 2 former co-stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Binky Felstead has confirmed she is “in talks” with TV bosses about a ‘Made in Chelsea’ spin-off show.
The 33-year-old star – who has children India, six, Wolfie, two, and nine-month-old Wilder, with her husband Max Darnton – has been in discussions with producers about a “what happened next” or a “mummies of Chelsea”-style show being made alongside her good friends and fellow former ‘Made in Chelsea’ stars Louise Thompson and Rosie Fortescue.
Binky told MailOnline: “We have started discussing doing something new … it will be a show about ‘what happened next?’ or the ‘mummies of Chelsea’ type of thing.’
“I have spoken to a few people and they have all said yes so far.
“I always get asked, ‘Is there going to be an OG reunion?’ And people saying they would like to see the old cast back together.
“Me, Louise and Rosie and still super close, we always make time for each other for our girly lunches and dinners. We’re like family.
“We have filmed the ups and downs of our lives together for the past decade and when we get together, if the walls could talk …”
But Binky insisted she will never return to the main E4 show, because her life is “completely different now”.
She added: “I will not be returning to ‘Made In Chelsea’ because my life is obviously completely different now, I’m a wife and I have three children and businesses, but we are in talks about doing something completely new.”
Last April, Binky admitted she “couldn’t be happier” after welcoming her third child, Wilder, into the world.
Binky shared a video montage on Instagram of her labour journey, complete with several pre and post-birth pictures and footage, and she wrote in the caption: “15.04.23. 10:45pm!
“Couldn’t be happier he’s just perfect. We now have three musketeers. (sic)”

Inbetweeners star James Buckley has ‘never felt comfortable’ as an actor: ‘It’s terrifying!’

OHMYGOSSIP — James Buckley has “never felt comfortable” as an actor.
The 36-year-old star has been in the business since he was a teenager and famously played sex-mad sixth former Jay Cartwright in E4 sitcom ‘The Inbetweeners’ during the late 2000s.
But the star has not been seen on TV acting for five years, and admitted upon his return that he still finds the whole thing “terrifying” .
He told Metro newspaper’s Guilty Pleasures column: “[My return] was like riding a bike if I was a man that had never learned to ride a bike!
“I’ve never felt comfortable. I find all this stuff nerve-racking. It excites me and it can be really fun but it’s also terrifying because I’m like anyone else.”
During his break from the small screen, the former ‘White Gold’ star has become the first famous face to earn £1 million through the celebrity greetings website Cameo, but he can now be seen alongside ‘Men Behaving Badly’ actor Neil Morrissey in the Channel 5 drama ‘Finders Keepers’.
The four-part series focuses on a metal detector enthusiast who finds a Saxon hoard, along with his fiancée’s father (Neil), and attempts to sell it.
Reflecting on his role in the series with RadioTimes.com, James said: “It’s obviously very serious, but I think me and Neil … our job is to play it for truth, and to be truthful to the script and to the text. And I think the truth was that we both saw the comedy in it a lot of times as well.
“There’s some stuff that’s really dark, and it goes to places where you don’t imagine – especially someone like me, who’s pretty much been strictly comedy throughout their whole career, it goes to places where you don’t imagine that – and I think that could be quite a surprise.”

Corrie star Claire Sweeney suffers injury ahead of Dancing on Ice debut

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Sweeney has suffered an injury ahead of her ‘Dancing on Ice’ debut.
The 52-year-old actress is due to make her debut on the ITV1 skating programme on Sunday (21.01.24) alongside professional partner Colin Grafton but an insider has now revealed ahead of her first performance that she is “really gutted” after injuring herself during training and is doing everything she can to get better.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Claire has been training really hard, but has managed to injure herself.
“She’s really gutted and is following the advice to help her back on her feet.
“Everyone’s really hoping she will be OK for Saturday because she’s put so much effort into.”
A source close to the ITV skating competition assured fans that the ‘Coronation Street’ star – who shot to fame playing Lindsey Corkhill in the now-defunct soap opera ‘Brookside’ before going on to appear in West End musicals like ‘Chicago’ and ‘9 to 5’ – is in “great hands” with the medical team at the studios.
The insider said: “Claire is in great hands. ITV has medical support on site and health and safety across the board. The stars know the risks when joining the show, but they are full looked after throughout. Everyone wishes Claire a speedy recovery.”
Just days ago, the former ‘Loose Women’ panellist admitted that her professional partner had been “relentless” with her during reharsals and that she has had to “mentally” adapt to training in the rink
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, she said: “Colin is so patient and kind – he’s relentless though. Even when I want to shoot to the toilet, he’s looking at me like ‘You’re lying’ What’s interesting about the ice is that you have falls when you least expect it. It’s not only a physical thing, it’s a mental thing. So when I fall – I put my shoulder out the other week and I done my wrist in – it’s getting the confidence [back]. The ice is unforgiving.”

Alan Carr says life as a comedian is lonely

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr has a “lonely” life as a comedian.
The 47-year-old TV star that he finds that despite his immense fame, life as a performer is isolating, explaining that he is either talking to himself or in front of an audience.
During an episode of his ‘Life’s A Beach’ podcast, he said: “I’m a stand-up comedian. I don’t have an entourage – it’s quite lonely. I don’t want pity.”
The comedian – who has appeared on gameshows like ‘8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown’ – then explained that stand-up comedy touring’s biggest flaw was how isolating it was, with there being no one to talk to in between shows.
He said: “I tell you what with stand-up comedy, and I just finished a tour, I was walking around all by myself as I always do and I thought you either speak to yourself or speak to an audience.
“And that’s the weirdness – you’re either going, ‘Oh, this is a nice day’, or you’re speaking to a theatre of 1,500 people.
“The problem is you’ve got nowhere in between. You don’t have any company. So that, I think, is my problem.”
Despite his stand-up problems, the former ‘Chatty Man’ star – who split from husband Paul Drayton after 13 years of marriage in 2022 – has enjoyed travelling with ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge Amanda Holden for the second series of ’The Italian Job’, which sees the two stars purchasing derelict homes through the One Euro scheme, and improve them to then give them to charity.
Reflecting on the show, he told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “We’ve loved making two series of ‘Amanda and Alan’s Italian Job’, but we’re not doing a third there — we’ve done enough Italy now.
“I had a great time performing stand-up in Lisbon recently, so maybe the plan could be to restore a house in Portugal.
“We were there for months. One day it felt like it was ‘Wish You Were Here ’, then ‘Grand Designs’, then it was like ‘Love Island’!”

The Chase’s Shaun Wallace reveals his quizzing ‘Achilles heel’ is soaps

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Chase’ star Shaun Wallace struggles to answer questions about TV.
The 63-year-old quizzer has served as a chaser on the ITV1 gameshow since its inception in 2009 but revealed that he always trips up on questions about soap operas and once failed to give a basic detail about Marge Simpson from the long-running cartoon series ‘The Simpsons’.
Speaking to Josie Gibson and Dermot O’Leary on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, Shaun said: “Everyone has an Achilles heel, mine is soaps.
“I was one question away from winning a Chase episode and they asked me what colour is Marge Simpson’s hair. If you’ve never watched The Simpsons like I’ve never watched The Simpsons, you’re not going to know.”
Fellow Chaser Anne Hegerty pointed out: “That’s really not a soap question, Shaun”, to which the former barrister replied: “Soaps, animation, whatever. Same thing to me. I got such a backlash from social media, ‘You should be sacked, you’re rubbish,’ but questions are only easy if you know the answers.”
Anne agreed and admitted that the chasers frequently receive hate comments, to which they “all just ignore them”.
Shaun added: “I’ll always stop and take photographs or I sometimes send photos to mothers and grandmothers. Because for me I’m always grateful of the fact that the public make me famous and it’s one way of saying thank you.”
The chaser then revealed that Shaun Williamson, who played Barry on ‘Eastenders’ was “the best quizzer on the circuit”, closely followed by Jonathan Ross.
He said: “I’ve been up against some really good celebrities – Jonathan Ross is one of them.
“I’ll tell you who else is good, his brother Paul – an excellent quizzer. But the best celebrity quizzer on the circuit has got to be Shaun Williams.
“He takes part in a British quiz league. He’s that good.”
