Alicia Vikander: There’s no joy in social media

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Vikander can’t “find the joy” in social media.
The 30-year-old actress quit Instagram after just one month on the photo sharing platform, and has now said her decision came as she realised she couldn’t find any “joy” in it.
She said: “I realised early on that social media was not good for me. I personally didn’t find the joy in it.”
Alicia says she finds self-confidence outside of online “likes”, as she insists her drive to appear “tough” comes from not wanting anyone to know when she’s nervous.
She added to Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “In this industry, you must be willing to throw yourself out there, which I enjoy. I’m good at hiding all those nerves inside. Something I’ve heard all my life is, ‘Oh, you seem so tough.’ I think one of the main things I do well is to not show that I’m s****ing my pants.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Tomb Raider’ actress’ decision to quit social media so soon also inspired Elizabeth Olsen to consider walking away from the platform, because she doesn’t think a lack of internet presence has affected the careers of actresses who don’t post on social media.
Elizabeth said: “I just have an old-school mindset. Also, girls I look up to, like Jennifer Lawrence, Rooney Mara and Alicia Vikander, don’t have it, and it hasn’t affected their careers remotely … I’d rather live as private a life as I can. I’m not trying to be a mysterious person, but I’d rather be seen as an actor from job to job. I’ve never lived my life trying to be an influencer; I’m happy keeping my own opinions for fun dinner conversation … A lot of the time in my life, I try not to take up space – I just want to disappear into a wall. And then eventually, when I’m around people I feel confident with, I’ll take up more space.”

Ellie Goulding to invite Sarah Ferguson to hen do?

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Goulding is reportedly planning to invite Sarah Ferguson to her hen do in London.
The ‘Love Me Like You Do’ hitmaker is said to be planning a night out with a host of her showbiz pals – which include the likes of Prince Harry, Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne and Miley Cyrus – and a separate bash to accommodate her friends and family before she ties the knot with art dealer Caspar Jopling.
The Duchess of York became good friends with Ellie after they met through the royal’s daughter Princess Eugenie – whose father is Sarah’s ex-husband Prince Andrew – and Ellie believes the “wild” 59-year-old royal will be a hit with her friends as she is a “rebel and a strong female”.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Ellie knows Sarah can be wild when she gets going and is so much fun to be around.
“After spending more time with Fergie, Ellie thinks she’ll be the life and soul of the party.
“Some of her mates think it’s a bit weird that they’ll be hanging out with old Fergie at the bash but Ellie is sure she’ll be a hit with her guests.
“Fergie’s a rebel and a strong female, which Ellie loves. It’s going to be one hell of a party.”
Eugenie is believed to have introduced the 32-year-old pop star to her fiancé, as she worked with the businessman’s father in New York.
Eugenie and Ellie are often spotted out frequenting the Chiltern Firehouse in London’s affluent area of Marylebone, and Sarah and her other daughter Princess Beatrice have joined them from time to time.
Ellie attended Eugenie’s wedding to husband Jack Brooksbank last October, at Windsor Castle, and even got up to perform for the couple at the The Royal Lodge after-party.
The ‘Close To Me’ hitmaker will be able to spend more time with her royal pals soon as after she gets married, she and Caspar will be moving to London permanently.
The couple got engaged last August, after 18 months of dating, and are planning to return to her home country after splitting their time between New York, where the art dealer works for Sotheby’s, and the British capital.
She said previously: “It’s too hard, him living there and me living here – too many flights. But for the first time the long-distance thing feels more OK because we know we’re gonna be together when we’re married.”
In December, Ellie said that other than the engagement ring – which is over 100 years old – they had no plans set in place for their wedding yet, but she admitted Caspar is the more “organised” partner.
She said: “Nothing too serious has been chosen or discussed. My partner’s very involved and incredibly organised, way more logistical than me, so we make a good pair.”

R. Kelly fails to get child support payments reduced

OHMYGOSSIP — A judge has refused to reduce R. Kelly’s child support payments.
The 52-year-old singer was jailed last week after failing to comply with a court order to pay over $161,000 in overdue payments to his ex-wife Andrea Lee for their kids Joann, 21, Jay, 19, and Robert, 17, but after he was released from jail on Saturday (09.03.19), he appeared in court for a private hearing on Wednesday (13.03.19).
Though courtroom proceedings were sealed to the public, the ‘Ignition’ hitmaker’s attorney confirmed afterwards there would be no change in the current $21,000-a-month payments, CBS Chicago reports.
Kelly, who was released from jail after an anonymous person posted bail for him, previously insisted the matter would be “straightened out”.
He said: “I promise, we will straighten this out. That is all I can say right now.”
The child support row came a few weeks after the singer was taken into custody after being charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse stemming from allegations made against him by four women, three of whom were under age at the time the alleged incidents took place.
At the time, bail for the ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ hitmaker was set at $1 million after Cook County Judge John Fitzgerald Lyke Jr. found the allegations made against R. Kelly were very “disturbing”.
The ‘Ignition’ hitmaker posted his bail days later, and recently gave an emotional interview in which he insisted allegations against him are “not true”.
He said: “Quit playing, I didn’t do this stuff.
“This is not me. I’m fighting for my f*****g life! Y’all killing me with this s**t! I’ve given you 30 years of my f****g career! 30 years of my career! Y’all trying to kill me! You’re killing me man!
“This is not about music! I’m trying to have a relationship with my kids and I can’t do it! Y’all just don’t want to believe the truth. Y’all don’t want to believe it. This is not true! It doesn’t even make sense! Why would I hold all these women! Their mothers and fathers told me, ‘We’re going to destroy your career.'”

Jussie Smollett’s Empire future still undecided

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Empire’ bosses think it is “too early” to decide whether Jussie Smollett still has a future on the show.
The 36-year-old actor was dropped from the final two episodes of the current fifth season of the musical family drama after he was charged for allegedly staging a faked racist and homophobic attack on himself but showrunner Brett Mahoney insists a final decision on whether he will be back as Jamal Lyon doesn’t need to be made this early in the legal process.
He said: “It’s a matter of trusting the process and allowing the legal process to play out and see where it goes from there. And it’s too early to think about what we would have to do if we didn’t have Jussie.
“We have such a strong ensemble and we have so many stories to tell for all of these fascinating characters that it’s bigger than one character, but it’s too early to think about the show without him.”
However, the executive producer felt making the “difficult decision” to drop Jussie from the final weeks of filming was the best thing to do, both to allow him to focus on his legal battle and his co-stars to focus on the show without any “disruption” or stress.
He explained to Entertainment Weekly: “It was a very difficult decision, but I think in terms of allowing the cast and the crew to really get the work done without a great deal of disruption in terms of the day-to-day and the stress of the day-to-day, and, in addition, allowing Jussie the time to really deal with what he’s been confronted with and allow him the time to focus and prepare his case, this seems like the logical decision to make.”
Although it has been rumoured the series faces cancellation should the actor be found guilty, Brett has reassured fans that he’s confident it will be picked up for another season.
He said: “I’m not surprised that we don’t necessarily have a pick up at this point as I think last season we waited until May.
“All the indications I have are that we will be. And we do have so many of these stories to tell, so I can’t imagine we won’t be able to tell them.”
Jussie has denied the allegations against him.

Jessica Alba is ‘best friends’ with her husband Cash Warren

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Alba and Cash Warren are “best friends”.
The 37-year-old actress has been married to the 40-year-old film producer for 11 years, and says her marriage works because they have learnt how to “communicate” to each other if they are not happy about something and whenever they do argue, it doesn’t last very long because they are able to rectify any situation before it gets “out of control”.
However, the ‘Sin City’ star admitted that wasn’t always the case, as she used to be afraid of “conflict” and didn’t know how to get across her feelings.
Speaking to Health magazine, Jessica said: “My husband and I like each other still. [Laughs] I’m not good with conflict.
“I didn’t know how to express myself, and I feel like I’ve evolved into this person who can communicate so you can address stuff before it gets out of control. “We’re best friends, and we respect each other.”
The ‘Fantastic Four’ star – who has Honor, 10, Haven, seven, and Hayes, 14 months, with Cash – previously said the key to her lasting romance is “support”.
Jessica said they work so well together because they always have each other’s backs.
When asked how they’ve maintained their romance, the ‘Mechanic: Resurrection’ star said: “We support each other. I think it’s just nice to have someone who can just listen and be there for you and cuddle and … I don’t know, we do a lot of down time, and being chill. It’s important to have a date night once in a while.”
Meanwhile, the couple often battle hectic schedules, and so they have established Family Fridays, in which they always spend the day together.
Jessica said: “It’s our game night. We get on teams and play Clue. Honor is really good. I love when she wins – she’s strategic.”

Toni Collette and Damian Lewis to star in Dream Horse

OHMYGOSSIP — Toni Collette and Damian Lewis are to lead the cast in ‘Dream Horse’.
The ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ actress will take on the role of Jan Vokes, a working men’s club barmaid who recruits her reluctant husband, Brian, and a local accountant named Howard Davies – who will be portrayed by the ‘Billions’ actor – to help put together a syndicate of locals to breed a foal, which they name Dream Alliance and who goes on to become a successful racehorse.
Neil McKay has written the script for the movie while ‘American Animals’ Katherine Butler and ‘The Selfish Giant’s Tracy O’Riordan will produce.
Euros Lyn has signed up to direct the true story, which was previously told in documentary ‘Dark Horse’ and is thrilled to have landed Toni and Damian for the movie.
He said: “I grew up in the Welsh valleys where everyone knows this story – it’s a local legend. The moment I read Neil’s brilliant script I knew I had to direct this funny and moving film. Casting Toni Collette as Jan Vokes, our extraordinary heroine and Damian Lewis as Howard Davies, her intriguingly conflicted accomplice is my own dream come true.
“They’re the perfect actors to tell this true story of how against all the odds, an ordinary woman inspires her community to go on the ride of a lifetime and rediscover a sense of hope.”
Producer Katherine added: “I fell in love with this story when I first heard about Louise Osmond’s documentary – and when I met the real people involved, I was hugely inspired by both their steely determination and their joyous outlook on life.
“Our brilliant writer Neil McKay spent hours with many of the people whose story this is to craft an exciting, moving and often hilarious script.
“And Euros Lyn’s immediate and passionate response to the script completely convinced us that he was born to direct this film.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled with our dream casting of Toni Collette and Damian Lewis, and together with the support of all our financiers, the local welsh cast and crew and the horse racing community, we are off to the races!”

Una Healy pours heartbreak into song

OHMYGOSSIP — Una Healy has channeled her heartbreak over the end of her marriage into a new song.
The former Saturdays star split from Ben Foden – the father of her children Aoife, six, and three-year-old Taidhg – in July 2018 after he was unfaithful to her, and in her new ballad ‘Strangers’, she sings about how she felt she was “going crazy” and hit out at the rugby player for his broken promises.
According to The Sun newspaper, the lyrics include: “You made feel like I was going crazy/ Believing all those lies that you fed me.
“Every word you said to me was empty/ Broken every promise that you made me/ No we can’t save this.”
And the 37-year-old singer admits she isn’t really sure she truly knew her husband of six years.
She also sings: “Did I ever really get to know you/ Did you really care for me like your supposed to.
“So save your breath/ There’s nothing left worth keeping anyway/ We are so much better off/ To go our separate ways.”
Ben recently insisted he and Una still have a “very amicable” relationship and though he believes he deserves criticism for being unfaithful, he insisted that wasn’t the only reason why their marriage broke down.
He said: “At the moment anything that’s published about me is never very good and pretty rightly so, because I was the one who committed adultery.
“But at the same time, it wasn’t the only reason for our divorce to go through.
“It’s not ideal but we’re very amicable, we’re getting through it.
“We’re not the first people in the world to get divorced. We’ve got two little kids we adore.”
Una is now dating former Limerick hurler David Breen, while Ben is single but has been spotted on dating app Bumble.

Macklemore to be honoured at MusiCares Concert For Recovery

OHMYGOSSIP — Macklemore will be honoured with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award at the MusiCares Concert For Recovery.
The ‘Thrift Shop’ hitmaker – whose real name is Benjamin Hammond Haggerty – has battled with drug addiction in the past, but he turned his life around and now helps others with their recovery.
On May 16, the 35-year-old rapper will be handed the special accolade for his commitment to working with recovering addicts at The Novo in Los Angeles, where he will also take to the stage for a performance.
Macklemore says his sobriety is his “daily priority”, and he’s thrilled to support the MusiCares charity.
He said in a statement: “Addiction is a disease that can affect anyone, and it takes resources and support to heal.
“For me, recovery is a daily priority; without my sobriety everything I care about is at risk.
“I’m honoured to support MusiCares in providing members of the music community who are suffering from addiction with the crucial services and resources they need.”
The Stevie Ray Vaughn Award – which is named after the late guitar legend – was presented to U2’s Adam Clayton last year.
Previous recipients have included Alice Cooper, Lars Ulrich, Ozzy Osbourne and the late Chris Cornell and Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington.
The concert, which will be hosted by comedian Jeff McHale, will also feature a tribute to the late rapper Mac Miller, who tragically passed away in September last year, aged just 26, after suffering an accidental overdose.
More performers are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
MusiCares – which is part of The Recording Academy – aims to “provide members of the music community access to addiction recovery resources and programs”.
The MusiCares Foundation was established in 1989 and incorporated in 1993 by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and has given millions of dollars towards support in financial, medical and personal emergencies to people in times of need.
The charity focuses on the music industry, with Dolly Parton being named MusiCares Person of the Year at the 2019 Grammy Awards last month.
Aretha Franklin – who passed away in February – Sir Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel and Paul Simon have previously been bestowed with the honour.

Jenna Coleman will be replaced on Victoria

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenna Coleman has confirmed she will be replaced in ‘Victoria’.
The 32-year-old actress knows it is impossible for her to continue playing Queen Victoria – who died at the age of 81 – in the regal drama as the character gets older but she admitted she isn’t looking forward to the day when she has to step down and let someone else take over as the monarch in the next stage of her life.
She admitted: “There’s going to come a point where I have to [to be recast]. The idea I’ll be playing Victoria meeting Abdul is not really possible.
“But it’s going to be a hard thing to give over, especially as she gets older. She’s becoming much more like everything that she’s kind of known for – her impatience and straightness and inability to hide how she feels.
“[Recasting] brings a lot of challenges and it’s hard as an actor – when you’ve taken it so far it’s hard to give it up.”
But the actress has some ideas in mind of who could step in to replace her on the show.
She told reporters: “There’s lots of people. Emily Watson would be amazing, so would Imelda Staunton. Helena Bonham Carter would be good, but she’s busy right now.
“Olivia Colman was so good in The Favourite but she’s busy too.”
Jenna’s co-star, Tom Hughes, 32, is hopeful he can stay with the show until his character, the queen’s husband Prince Albert, dies at the age of 42.
He said: “I hope I am able to finish the story because I am close to finishing,” he said.
“I’m trying to map [Albert’s life] out correctly and be as fair as I can. I’ve put on a bit of weight for this series, I’m holding him differently so Albert feels older.
“I’m trying to age him in the right way, doing as much as I can without cheating him. Those things are important.”
‘Victoria’ lead writer Daisy Goodwin has confirmed a recast is likely at some point, but not in the near future.
She said: “I know where the series is going, it’s all there. I think series four is going to be amazing.
“At some point we will have to recast, but hopefully not yet.”

Chrissy Teigen’s son no longer needs helmet

OHMYGOSSIP — Chrissy Teigen’s son has “graduated” from wearing a helmet.
The ‘Lip Sync Battle’ star revealed in December that nine-month-old Miles – her second child with husband John Legend – needed the headwear to correct his “adorable misshapen head” and she’s now shared the happy news that the tot doesn’t have to wear it any more.
She wrote on Twitter: “such a trooper for 3 months of helmet. happy graduation, Miles!! (sic)”
Chrissy also posted a video of herself and Miles snuggling on the couch as she wished him a “happy helmet free day”.
The baby seemed delighted as the brunette beauty – who also has two-year-old Luna with John – repeated: “No more helmet. No more helmet!”
The 33-year-old star went on to praise the “amazing” process that had helped Miles’ head.
She wrote: “they [helmets] get shaved and shaped down every week, depending on how much the child’s head is morphing. it’s amazing! (sic)”
Chrissy previously told her fans not to “feel bad” when they saw pictures of Miles with his helmet on.
She wrote on twitter alongside a photo of her son with his new headgear: “baby miles getting fitted for a little helmet today for his adorable slightly misshapen head. so if you see pictures, don’t feel bad for him because he’s just fixing his flat and honestly he’s probably gonna be even cuter with it somehow (sic)”
While Miles was wearing a white helmet in the photo, Chrissy vowed to get a number of different ones so he can co-ordinate with his outfits.
She posted in the comments of her Instagram account: “I’m gonna get SO many designs.”

Kylie Jenner ate a lot in pregnancy

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner ate a “magnitude” of food when she was pregnant.
The 21-year-old reality star – who previously admitted she gained 40lbs while carrying her daughter Stormi, now 13 months – didn’t have any “weird” cravings but she indulged in a lot of sweet treats while expecting.
She admitted: “[When I was pregnant] I ate lot of Eggos (waffles) – and if you know me, I hate Eggos, always have.
“But when I was pregnant, I was like mmm! I ate like three a day.
“I just ate like a magnitude of food – so much, so much food. And, I was having a girl, and they say when you’re having a girl, you crave more, like, sweets vs. salty, and that was true for me. Like, a lot of Krispy Kremes, a lot of sweets. Nothing weird or crazy, but just really sweet things – ice cream, just whatever I wanted.”
The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star – who has Stormi with partner Travis Scott – admitted she’s changed her eating habits in recent months in order to return to her naturally-slender frame.
Asked during an Instagram Live session how she “got a flat tummy again”, she said: “Honestly, it’s all about diet for me.
“I’m naturally just a really skinny person…like [sister] Kendall Jenner, but not like Kendall – she’s naturally like, model status.
“But, yeah, I always had a really flat stomach, but I never felt it went back to before Stormi until recently. And I feel like it has a lot to do with diet. Like, I really eat very crazy usually, like whatever I want – pizza, pasta, a lot of diary, and I just kind of cut that all out, and have just been eating better, and I feel like that’s the trick for me, personally.”
But Kylie admitted it has taken her a lot of time to feel back to her normal self again.
She added: “And I also think after a child, it really does take just as long to get your body back as it did to create a child. Because, I heard that from a lot of people. Like, it takes a full year…it really does, it really does. I definitely feel back to myself again.”

Maren Morris scared to be around guns

OHMYGOSSIP — Maren Morris is scared to be around guns now following the Route 91 festival shooting.
The ‘Seeing Blind’ hitmaker used to “always feel super safe” around guns when she was growing up in Texas but following the terrible shooting at the harvest festival in Las Vegas in 2017, that is no longer the case for Maren.
She said: “I’m from Texas and I’ve grown up around guns, and my whole family was always super safe with them. But as much fun as that was growing up, do I feel particularly safe around guns now? No.”
And the 28-year-old singer is glad people are “getting braver” and talking about the issues.
She added to Esquire magazine: “People are getting braver. And I’m glad. As much as people like to say ‘shut up and sing,’ those aren’t the people who move the culture forward. Artists are extremely influential. If you are informed and you pay taxes, you deserve as much of an opinion as anyone else.”
Maren’s main focus is music and she is working on a new album, which she says is “genre-less”.
She said: “I’m about to record my second album, that’s a really exciting and stressful time because it’s a big deal and he [her husband Ryan] keeps me straight and we’re just so happy to be married now and we’ve got our dogs waiting at home for us, so it’s a good life … I think that’s the direction that music is turning now, it’s very genre-less, it’s boundless. I feel so excited to be able to do what I do but also on the side get to have these amazing realms of creative freedom in other genres, too.”

Scott Disick picks Khloe Kardashian as his ‘Woman Crush Wednesday’

OHMYGOSSIP — Scott Disick named Khloe Kardashian as his “Woman Crush Wednesday”.
The 35-year-old star – who has three children from his past relationship to Khloe’s sister Kourtney – has always had a close friendship with the blonde beauty, and he shared a paparazzi snap of her on a girls night out in Las Vegas over the weekend as part of the weekly social media trend.
Alongside the photo – which saw her stun in a white fishnet bodysuit – he simply wrote: “Been waiting all week to post this #wcw”
Although it could’ve been awkward for Scott to compliment his ex’s sibling, the ‘Revenge Body’ host took it well and showed it’s all just part of their friendship.
She replied on Instagram: “Hahaha!! I love you Scott!!”
Despite the cheeky post, Scott – who has children Mason, nine, Penelope, six, and four-year-old Reign with Kourtney – is dating 20-year-old model Sofia Richie.
And Sofia recently explained she doesn’t feel the need to use her social media accounts to “prove” her romance with the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star because she likes to lead a quiet life.
She said: “I think a lot of people think they have to prove their relationships through social media and I’m just happy being private about my relationship.
‘It’s not like I won’t post pictures about it, but I like having my little private life. I’m not a party girl and I really don’t like the paparazzi.”
Meanwhile, Khloe has had a tough time lately after splitting from Tristan Thompson – the father of her 11-month-old daughter True – after he was accused of kissing Jordyn Woods.
She recently blamed the cheating scandal on her ex – after previously blaming the model.
She wrote: “This has been an awful week & I know everyone is sick of hearing about it all (as am I). I’m a rollercoaster of emotions & have said things I shouldn’t have. Honestly, Tristan cheating on me & humiliating me, wasn’t such a shock as the first time.
“What’s been harder & more painful is being hurt by someone so close to me. Someone whom I love & treat like a little sister. But Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault. I have to move on with my life & count my blessings, my family, my health, & my beautiful baby True. (sic)”

Paul Martin’s new game show like The Crystal Maze

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Martin’s new game show ‘Curiosity’ is inspired by ‘The Crystal Maze’.
The former ‘Flog It!’ presenter has landed a gig as the host of the new programme on BBC One, which sees two amateur antiques enthusiasts go head-to-head to make the most money at auction, answer a number of quiz questions and complete tasks in a series of rooms set in different time periods.
The 59-year-old antiques expert – who was devastated when it was announced the BBC were axing ‘Flog It!’, after 17 years on screen – says ‘Curiosity’ has a likeness to the Channel 4 show, which features four zones, Aztec, Industrial – which was later replaced by Ocean – Futuristic and Medieval, where the contestants take part in a series of challenges and games in order to win crystals, each of which give them five seconds in the final crystal dome.
According to Metro.co.uk, Paul said: “We took inspiration from ‘The Crystal Maze’.
“There are four room which span four centuries and a central area where the quiz takes place.
“Contestants who complete challenges win items which are curiously curated and added up in value, with the highest value collection winning the chance to swap their collection for an item in the curiosity shop, which could make or lose them money.”
The group who fail to complete the challenge will be rewarded with a mug with the game show’s name on it, and Paul admitted that if the show is a hit, the piece of “tat” could become “priceless”.
He added: “The losers get a ‘Curiosity’ mug – a piece of tat from a junk shop that we put a logo on -which could be priceless in years to come, if the show is a success.”
Meanwhile, the TV star previously admitted he hopes there will be some “special” episodes of ‘Flog It!’ before it retires from screens in June.
Paul would like to see celebrity or charity episodes air.
He said: “Secretly I’m thinking maybe there’ll be some specials or some Children In Need ones or a celebrity ‘Flog It!’.
“It’s down to the channel really and I can’t make those decisions. I’m kind of missing it already. It’s 18 years of my life.”
The BBC was inundated with complaints over their decision to axe ‘Flog It!’.
Upset viewers bombarded the broadcaster with calls, urging them to rethink their decision to end the programme.

Denzel Washington to star in cop movie Little Things

OHMYGOSSIP — Denzel Washington is set to star in cop thriller ‘Little Things’.
The 64-year-old Hollywood legend’s next movie will see him portray overburdened Kern County deputy sheriff Deke in the forthcoming flick, which is being written by John Lee Hancock – who will likely jump on to direct if his deal with Warner Bros. works out.
The plot sees Deke join forces with LA County Sheriff’s Department detective, Baxter, to get a serial killer behind bars and the movie has the title because Washington’s alter-ego is into digging out the “little things” in his cases.
Washington has made a name for himself in the cops and robbers genre, and won an Oscar for Best Actor for his role as narcotics officer Alonzo Harris alongside Ethan Hawke (Jake Hoyt) in 2001’s ‘Training Day’.
He has clearly been impressed by the script, as Variety reports that he pushed back filming ‘Journal Of Jordan’, which he is helming and is reportedly set to feature Michael B. Jordan.
The latter movie has Oscar-nominated screenwriter Virgil Williams in charge of the script, which is based on the true story of Dana Canedy, the Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, and how she fell in love with Sergeant Charles Monroe King.
The story is informed by King’s journals, which he had penned for the couple’s newborn son, Jordan. King had wrote these whilst he was deployed overseas and whilst he sadly died whilst on active duty in Iraq in 2006, his messages of hope continue to live on through his letters.
Jordan will help to produce the film under his Outlier Society banner whilst Washington will also produce, alongside Escape Artist’s Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch.

The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who plays Michelle Connor – has announced what her first role will be after leaving the cobbles, and she’s set to take on the part of Jovie in the stage adaptation of Will Ferrell’s classic 2003 festive comedy featuring a human raised by elves at Santa’s workshop on a mission to reconnect with his real father.
As revealed by the Mirror, Kym will play the role made famous by Zooey Deschanel in the upcoming run of the West End and Broadway musical, with Tam Ryan as Buddy and Shaun Williamson – better known as Barry Evans from ‘EastEnders’ – as Buddy’s dad Walter Hobbs.
Kym said: “I am delighted to be getting back on stage and joining the cast of ‘Elf’ this December.
“‘Elf’ is an iconic Christmas film and having seen the musical myself last year, I am very excited to be part of this fun and heart-warming family show.”
The ‘Corrie’ actress recently appeared to foreshadow the exciting announcement, as she admitted she would be willing to sing for the right role despite the former Hear’Say star having no plans to reignite her pop career.
She explained: “There was a story last week that said I haven’t ruled out a return to music when I leave ‘Corrie’ later this year.
“I enjoy singing and if an acting role, which involved singing, came up, then great! However, I’m not planning on making a comeback musically – you won’t see me making a new album!”
The news of her upcoming role comes after Kym revealed she is having a break from the soap world after 13 years on the cobbles so she can focus on other projects – but she hopes she’ll get to return one day.
Quizzed on whether Michelle might get killed off, she replied: “Well, I hope not.”
When asked if she’ll definitely be back, she replied: “I’ve said I’m taking a break, so yeah. I think it’s just a break for me. Being there for 13 years without taking anytime away…”
