The Who tackle fishing and MeToo on ‘current’ new album

OHMYGOSSIP — The Who’s new songs for their upcoming album tackle fishing and #MeToo.
The iconic rock band’s guitarist Pete Townshend – who is joined by frontman Roger Daltrey in the group – has revealed their new tunes for their first record of new material in over a decade are “current” and address a number of issues, such as “how men might have to change in the future”, following the movement against sexual harassment and sexual assault, which has swept the entertainment industry, to the global homelessness epidemic and plight of fishermen.
Townshend also hinted that they have room for some guest artists and that they are keen to get a rapper or female star to lay down some vocals for the album.
Speaking to Absolute Radio, he said: “We are about two thirds of the way through the process.
“I think we’re going to have a really great record.
“I do. I’ve got some good songs.
“They are current. I’ve got songs about homelessness, about the fishing industry, about the way men might have to change in the future after the ‘Me Too’ thing.
“All kinds of current stuff and possibly there’s a bit of room too for a few guests, may be a female vocalist here, or a rapper here, or whatever, we shall see.”
Singer Daltrey has been impressed by his bandmate’s songwriting and admitted it has been a “fun” experience “experimenting” with new sounds.
He said: “We’re experimenting and having fun.
“He’s still got that ability to write those songs that get in your ear like an earworm and go round, and round, and round.”
The ‘Pinball Wizard’ hitmaker says the band – which featured the late drummer Keith Moon and trumpeter John Entwistle in the original line-up – are making the best music they’ve ever made, and heaped praise on their drummer Zac Starkey, the son of Beatles star Ringo Starr, who has been playing with them since 1996.
Asked what it’s like writing new music after almost six decades in the business, the 75-year-old frontman said: “It’s easy because we’re both stone deaf, so we don’t play loud any more, we play well, which is good.
“And we let the PA make all the noise.
“So musically I think it’s better than it’s ever been, to be honest with you. We can’t replace John and Keith, but Zac Starkey is the next best Keith Moon drummer there is around.”
Daltrey – who has documented his battle with deafness and has taken to lip-reading nowadays – says that if he doesn’t keep singing, he could risk losing his voice, and he doesn’t want to retire just yet.
He said: “People don’t realise that as a singer, if I stop singing at my age now for a year, I won’t have a voice to go back to.
“So I’ve got to keep singing if I want to do anything in future at all.”
The band have been recording their first studio album since 2006’s ‘Endless Wire’ at the iconic British Grove Studios – where The Rolling Stones produced their 2016 covers LP ‘Blue & Lonesome’.
As well as new music, The Who will bring their ‘Moving On! Tour’ to the London’s The SSE Arena, Wembley, on July 6.
The gig will see the band joined by special guests, including Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Kaiser Chiefs.
As previously confirmed, the show will feature the pair playing songs from their back catalogue accompanied by an orchestra, but Daltrey previously reassured fans that it doesn’t mean they will be giving their performance any less “throttle”.

Irina Shayk: I keep my life in my handbag

OHMYGOSSIP — Irina Shayk keeps her “life” in her handbag.
The 33-year-old Russian supermodel – who has collaborated with Tod’s for the latest redesign of the Iconic D bag – has revealed her must-have items, which she keeps inside her purse at all times, such as sugary sweets to help “fight off” jet-lag and a portable phone charger.
Speaking to British Vogue magazine, she said: “My life is in my bag. Sunglasses, a little candy – a splash of sugar to get you over the jet-lag is the best way to fight it off!
“A charger, a little mirror on the back of your cell phone case so you can check how you look.”
Irina will release her much-anticipated redesign for the Italian label’s D-Styling bag in their spring/summer 2019 collection later this month, and the star insisted that the accessory has become an “essential” part of her wardrobe.
She added: “The first thing that I’ve always associated Tod’s with is a trusted timelessness. The D-Styling bag is a definite favourite and has made itself at home among my daily essential pieces.”
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty – who has two-year-old daughter Lea with Bradley Cooper – previously admitted that although becoming a mother has improved her life, it hasn’t changed her personal style, and she thinks that having children shouldn’t stop a person “expressing” themselves.
When asked if her style changed when she became a parent, she said: “No. Not at all. Sometimes [people] will be like, ‘Oh, she’s a mom and she’s wearing this?’ I’m like, ‘Give me a break, girl.’
“Again, we live in the 21st century. Just because you are a mom and you have a baby doesn’t mean you have to change and dress different. Keep expressing yourself and who you are.”
As for how she keeps up her energy, the model swears by “a good amount of cake” to keep her going, but says she’s trying to stay away from drinking too much coffee, “especially in the winter”.
Asked how she maintains her energy levels, she replied: “Cake! That’s why I brought it with me. A good amount of cake. I’m trying to stay away from coffee because I think it makes you so dry, especially in the winter.
“When I wake up, I have a hot glass of water and with lemon, and one cup of coffee and definitely some cake.”

Jennifer Lopez’s sunglasses obsession

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez’s sunglasses collection is “as bad” as her shoes because she needs a different pair for every mood.
The singer-and-actress has teamed up with her husband-to-be Alex Rodriguez to create a capsule collection of men and women’s shades with the Australian brand Quay.
Asked about her own personal stash of sunnies, she said: “Oh my God. It might be as bad as shoes.
“There’s a lot of sunglasses. It’s like one accessory that you can buy over and over and over. There’s just so many different moods and styles you have, I don’t know I have so many.”
The ‘Second Act’ star says their joint range has “captured” both of their personal styles, and is “glamorous” and “sexy”.
Speaking to Elle.com, she said: “The main thing for us was making sure it captured both of our styles. It needed to be classic but also glamorous and sexy because that’s kind of the field that we like to play in as far as fashion goes, and our life by the way.
“We just wanted to have a strong sense of our self-expression and of who we really are. I think they really nailed that.”
And the 49-year-old beauty felt like the collection was a “natural” collaboration for the pair because she has been wearing the brand’s shades for “years”, and has even worn shades on the red carpet.
She said: “Honestly, whatever I get involved with it’s not like, ‘Oh, I want to do sunglasses’ or ‘Oh, I want to do leggings,’ it’s not like that. It’s always about something that naturally has to do with my life. I’ve been using Quay sunglasses years.
“You can go back and see photos of me rocking Quay styles. They noticed and were like, ‘Hey, maybe we should do something together because we see that you’re a big fan of the brand.’ It was just one of those things that really was a natural collaboration.
“I wear them [shades] to the gym, I wear them on rainy days, I wear them to red carpet events sometimes. I wear them in videos all the time. I wear them in real life when I go to pick my kids up at school. I wear them when I’m hiking. I just wear them all the time.”

Hailey Bieber ‘crazy’ about evening skin routine

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber is “crazy” about her nightly skincare regime.
The 22-year-old model – who was known as Hailey Baldwin before tying the knot with Justin Bieber last year – has insisted that sleep is a big part of her beauty ritual and every evening, before bed, she has to complete her nightly routine and take her make-up off because otherwise her OCD sets in and she can’t drift off.
Speaking to W Magazine, she said: “I’m starting to get better about wearing SPF every day – I was never really good at that. I’m crazy about my skin at night. Every night, it’s a routine.
“There’s never not been a scenario where I haven’t taken my makeup off before going to sleep.
“I could have been doing all of the things and I still would have managed to take it off.
“We’ll be trying to go to bed and I’ll just be roaming around. Because I’m a little bit–not a little bit, I’m full-on-OCD, I have to make sure everything is correct before going to sleep.
“I need to make sure the dog is in the cage.
“I need to make sure the lights are off, the door is locked, the teeth have to be brushed. I have a crazy routine.
“Then I’ll lay down and I’ll remember one thing I didn’t do and if I didn’t do it, I have to get up and finish it.
“So I’ll get up again and walk around.
“Justin will be like, ‘What are you doing?! Go to sleep!'”
The blonde beauty also praised her mother, Kennya Baldwin, for instilling the importance of a good skin regime in her from such a young age, because now she has “soft” skin due to moisturising daily.
Opening up about her earliest beauty memory, she added: “Probably just rummaging through my mom’s makeup as a kid and trying to do my own makeup with things I found. My mom was always super big on moisturizing, too.
“She would never let me get out of the shower or the bath without lathering me in lotion – I hated it, too – which I’m thankful for now because I have soft skin and, now, I don’t ever get out of the bath or shower without lathering lotion all over.
“I use a lot of oils, like coconut oil.
“I try to use things that I don’t think are going to be too harmful or fragrance-y.
“I prefer natural fragrances because your skin is the biggest organ of your body, so everything you’re putting into your skin is super important.”

Hilary Duff disturbs intruder

OHMYGOSSIP — Hilary Duff and her boyfriend scared away a would-be intruder from their home.
The 31-year-old actress and partner Matthew Koma – who have five-month-old daughter Banks together – were in the kitchen of their Beverly Hills mansion at around 8.30pm on Tuesday (19.03.19) evening, when they noticed a man in their backyard.
According to TMZ, the couple somehow managed to scare away the intruder before calling police.
Officers attended the scene, and when doing a search, discovered a window screen had been removed, though the intruder didn’t make it inside the house.
Cops dispatched extra patrols around the area and are continuing to investigate as the man is still on the loose.
The incident came after Hilary – who also has six-year-old son Luca with ex-husband Mike Comrie – was previously robbed of hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewellery from the same property in 2017.
At the time, the blonde beauty and her family were in Canada, and thieves targeted her empty home.
They broke through a door and no alarm went off so they were able to make off with the jewellery without detection.
Meanwhile, the former ‘Lizzie McGuire’ star recently admitted she and Matthew rarely leave the house now because of their family.
Speaking on a rare occasion when she did leave the house to attend the Golden Globes in January, she said: “I don’t leave the house anymore these days, I don’t know what to say. We feel good, we’re like, ‘Oh my goodness, it’s past our bedtime. We’re out and we’re raging, what is this?’
“I mean, our baby is 10 weeks old and I obviously have a 6-year-old too, so we’re, like, full parents right now.”

Mindy Kaling creates new Netflix comedy

OHMYGOSSIP — Mindy Kaling is creating a new comedy series for Netflix.
The ‘Ocean’s Eight’ star will reteam with her ‘Mindy Project’ writer Lang Fisher and executive producer Howard Klein for the coming-of-age story, which will be inspired her own childhood and is described as an exploration of the complicated life of a modern-day first generation Indian American teenage girl.
Mindy – who has written about her teen years in her books ‘Is Everyone Hanging Out With Me and Other Concerns’ and ‘Why Not Me?’ – tweeted: “I’m joining the @netflix fam! @loulielang and I are working on a brand-new @netflix TV comedy about the life of a modern-day first generation Indian American teenage girl. Get ready for lots of relatable, awkward teen moments. More coming soon (sic)”
Meanwhile, Mindy recently admitted she felt “awful” when Fox cancelled ‘The Mindy Project’ in 2015, though it was picked up on Hulu and continued until November 2017.
Opening up about how she felt when told Fox were stopping production, she said: “It was awful. It felt personal. I was the face of the show. My name was in the title.”
The Indian/American actress credits her success to having “mentors” who believed in her.
She said: “For many years, I thought that hard work was the only way you could succeed, but it’s simply not true. Particularly if you’re a woman of color, you need people to give you opportunities, because otherwise it won’t happen. Talent is an important part of success, but you also need mentors to find promise in people that don’t necessarily seem like they will fit in.”
Mindy – who has a 15-month-old daughter, Katherine – believes comedy can be a short career because comics get less “funny” as they get older because of complacency.
In an interview with the latest issue of Variety magazine, she said: “Almost no one who is funny when they were younger is still funny when they’re old. Success is terrible because as you get more successful, it leeches away your talent. It makes you rich and it makes you complacent.”

David Letterman should have quit show sooner

OHMYGOSSIP — David Letterman thinks he should have retired from ‘The Late Show’ a decade before he did.
The 71-year-old broadcaster stepped away from the programme in 2015 after more than 30 years and while he believes he outstayed his welcome, he claimed no one had “the guts” to fire him.
Speaking on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, he said: “Yes it is true, and I’ll tell you what happened.
“It turns out nobody had the guts to fire me. And I should have left like 10 years ago. You want to make sure you have some energy to direct toward other things.”
David praised the ‘Finding Dory’ star for doing other things alongside her long-running show and admitted he should have done more himself.
He said: “I did not. All I cared about was myself. I was looking through the wrong end of the telescope.”
Elsewhere on the programme, the presenter – who now hosts ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction’ on Netflix – recalled a funny incident in a hotel that left him convinced he was going to be sent to prison.
Ellen’s producer Mary used to work on ‘The Late Show’ and she and David were once playing catch on the 14th floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City – only to accidentally break a window with a baseball, which flew down onto the crowds outside.
David quipped: “Well how many are dead?
“So I’m stunned and I go over to where the window is and I’m just kind of hiding and looking down there…and people were looking up because shards of glass had rain down on the Avenue of America. And I see a guy down there point up and go, ‘Oh hey there’s David Letterman!’ and I just thought I was spending the rest of my life in prison.”

Liam Bairstow makes World Down Syndrome Day appeal

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Bairstow has encouraged people to “follow your dreams” as part of a World Down Syndrome Day appeal.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who became the first person with Down syndrome to secure a lead role on the ITV soap in 2015 – admits he was “overwhelmed” when he first joined the show as Alex Warner, but he now feels “part of the team” and has made some “really good friends” on the programme.
He told the Yorkshire Evening Post newspaper: “When I first went into ‘Coronation Street’ it was quite overwhelming, I couldn’t believe I was there.
“It’s been great from the start, though – I feel like part of the team and have made some really good friends.
“I’d say to anyone who is reading this and wondering if they could do something similar, never give up, keep trying and fight for your dreams. I believe in you.”
Liam is represented by the Yorkshire Academy of Film and Television Acting (YAFTA), as is ‘Emmerdale’ actor James Moore – who has Ataxic cerebral palsy – and managing director Charlotte Armitage is “hugely proud” of the pair.
She added: “What’s really important about Liam and James is that they are both showing that acting is a viable career pathway for people with disabilities.”
James – who plays Ryan Stocks on the ITV soap – regularly encourages other disabled actors to follow their dreams by tweeting out inspirational messages.
Last night (20.03.19), he wrote on Twitter: “I feel like there’s a lot of negative stuff going around so I wanted to do a positive tweet for disabled people everywhere- it’s not what we can’t do but what we can that matters.
I CAN drive.
I CAN act.
I CAN work.
Let’s work together and overcome this stigma. #DisabilityRights (sic)”

Zachary Levi wants floss dance in Shazam! to ‘die a horrible death’

OHMYGOSSIP — Zachary Levi wants the floss dance to “die a horrible death” after he had to do it in the ‘Shazam!’ movie.
The 38-year-old actor is seen doing the dance move phenomenon in his role as the titular superhero in the latest DC Extended Universe film, however, he is not pleased that he will forever be seen doing the floss on screen and insists the “only flossing we need to do is between the teeth”.
Making a joke about the stereotypical perception that British people have bad teeth during a Q&A and screening of the movie at the BFI Southbank in London, Zachary said with a smile: “I don’t like the floss I think that dance needs to die a horrible death. The only flossing we need to be doing from now on is between the teeth guys and you really do need to do that. I’m serious, this is England you know what I’m talking about!”
The ‘Chuck’ star went on to insist that his role as Billy Batson – who is actually a teenager who is made the ‘Champion of Eternity’ after being bestowed his powers by an ancient wizard and can become a super-powered adult by saying Shazam – was “beyond surreal” and fulfilled a childhood “dream” of becoming a superhero.
When asked what it was like putting on Shazam’s striking superhero suit, he said: “Beyond surreal man. It was just like a dream. Ever since I was a little kid I dreamt of being a superhero. I think all of us can relate to that – at some point in our lives, we believe that we can fly we believe that the floor is lava and a lot of us, unfortunately, we lose that. You know life happens and responsibilities and then all of a sudden the little kid in me who always wanted to be a superhero got to be a superhero.”
Zachary stars in ‘Shazam!’ alongside Mark Strong as supervillain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, Djimon Hounsou as The Wizard Shazam and Asher Angel, who plays the teenage Billy.
The movie opens worldwide on April 5.

Richard E Grant says Julianne Moore was fired from film over fat suit

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard E. Grant has claimed that Julianne Moore was fired from ‘Can You Forgive Me?’ over a fat suit.
The 58-year-old actress was originally cast in the lead role of Lee Israel but the character ended up being portrayed by Melissa McCarthy in the Oscar-nominated movie and Richard – who portrays Lee’s friend Jack – says Julianne was let go as she wanted to wear a fat suit and false nose to get into character, however, the film’s writer Nicole Holofcener wouldn’t allow it.
Speaking at an Advertising Week Europe event in London, the 61-year-old actor said: “Julianne Moore wanted to wear a fat suit and a false nose to play Lee Israel and Nicole Holofcener said, ‘You’re not going to do that.'”
Julianne, 58, recently addressed her exit from the movie, claiming that Nicole “didn’t like what she was doing” in the part and had different ideas about how to play the character “so she fired me”.
Speaking on ‘Look What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’, she said: “I didn’t leave that movie, I was fired. I think she [Nicole] didn’t like what I was doing. We just been rehearsing and doing pre-production and stuff and her idea of where the character was different than where my idea of where the character was, so she fired me.”
The ‘Hannibal’ actress explained that although she hasn’t seen the film yet as it’s too “painful” she “worships” Melissa, 48, and is “sure she’s great” in the movie.
She said: “I haven’t [seen it] because it’s still kind of painful. I love Melissa McCarthy. I worship her. I think she’s fantastic, so I’m sure she’s great. It’s pretty bad. The only other time I was fired was when I was working at a yogurt stand when I was 15, so it felt bad.”
‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?’ went on to be nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Melissa, Best Supporting Actor for Richard and Best Adapted Screenplay, but did not win any statuettes at this year’s ceremony.

Warwick Davis’ family had cameos in the last Harry Potter film

OHMYGOSSIP — Warwick Davis’ family had cameo roles in ‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows – Part Two’.
The 49-year-old actor plays both the goblin Griphook and Charms teacher Professor Flitwick in the magic franchise and he has revealed that his wife Samantha, father-in-law and two children, Annabel, 21, and 16-year-old Harrison, appeared in a scene at the Gringotts Wizarding Bank in the final film in the franchise, based on J.K. Rowling’s books.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan UK at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of ‘Harry Potter’, he said: “The last time I was here, the room was filled with 60 goblins. Some of them my own family namely my wife, father-in-law and kids Annabel and Harrison all played goblins. [So coming back] I think about the fun times we had.
“If you watch ‘Deathly Hallows Part 2’, you’ll see Annabel and Harrison cross the wide shot of Gringotts the first time you come in for the doors in that film.”
Warwick went on to explain that as a veteran ‘Harry Potter’ cast member Griphook was his favourite character to portray as it’s “lovely to play a baddie”.
He said: “It’s lovely to play a baddie, to have an impact like a baddie does in a film. It’s always who an audience remembers … and who we’re strangely drawn to. They’re so fun to play because you’re doing things you’d never do as a person. I’m nothing like Griphook, hopefully.”
The star added that he is “delighted” that Gringotts was included in the Studio Tour and said that while playing the goblin bankteller he spent “a lot of time” in the impressive interior.
He said: “It’s so exciting to be back inside Gringotts Wizarding Bank after so many years. I spent a lot of time here as Griphook and it’s great to see the Studio Tour bring the original set back to life.
“I know visitors will love discovering the details of the goblin prosthetics and the Lestrange vault for themselves and there are more exciting additions to be revealed.”

Nikki Sixx laughs over brush with death

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Sixx has to “laugh” about his brush with death.
The Motley Crue rocker was pronounced dead after a heroin overdose in 1987 but was resuscitated and now he likes to make jokes about the incident, even if not everyone finds them funny.
He said: “I got a lot of great one-liners now like, ‘Jesus Christ and I both died and came back.’ That doesn’t sit well in the Bible belt. But you’ve got to laugh.”
The 60-year-old musician admitted he was in a huge amount of pain after his heart restarted, and compared the experience to rebooting a computer.
Asked what dying taught him, he told Rolling Stone magazine: “That it hurts to come back. My heart stopped. My body stopped.
“It’s like you turned the computer off and they restart the computer. It felt like I’d been f***ing hit by a truck. Every single thing hurt. My hair hurt. That reboot is a bitch.”
The ‘Home Sweet Home’ hitmaker believes he survived due to “spiritual intervention.
He said: “Let’s just say there was some spiritual intervention. God knows I wasn’t the one responsible for surviving. I’m not religious, but I’m spiritual. If I leaned toward anything, it would be Buddhism.”
And some of Nikki’s biggest regrets include “scaring” his loved ones with his drug habit and seeing the band “self-destruct” at the height of their success.
He said: “I learned that drugs are like Band-Aids and that Band-Aids don’t work. You’ve got to clean out the wound. I had to struggle with that through the fame and success.
“In certain parts of my life, I could have made better decisions. I feel bad for the people in my family that I scared.
“And I regret that when the band finally got what we wanted, we were self-destructing.”

Michael Jackson’s bodyguard defends King of Pop

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Jackson’s former bodyguard has claimed the late singer only had “relations” with adult women.
The late King of Pop’s security man Bill Whitfield watched over the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker along with Javon Beard – whom he co-wrote the 2014 book ‘Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days’ with – and he has now spoken out about the HBO documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’ in which James Safechuck and Wade Robson claim that Michael sexually abused both of them after befriending them when they were children.
Bill has defended Michael – who died from acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009 at the age of 50 – from his accusers and insisted that as far as he was “aware” he regularly “spent time” with “two particular women”.
Speaking on the ‘Hidden Truth Show with Jim Breslo’, Bill said: “I’m not gonna put his whole sexual actions out there. I would never do that. I’m aware of him spending time with women. What he did with these women is a different story. I’m aware that he spent time with two particular women, but what he did with them, he spent time.”
‘Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days’ was turned into the biographical television film ‘Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland’, which is about the “devotion” Michael “had to his children, and the hidden drama that took place during the last two years of his life”.
Bill’s defence of the pop superstar comes after the ‘Billie Jean’ hitmaker’s daughter Paris Jackson insisted it’s not her “role” to publicly defend her late father from James and Wade’s shocking accusations.
The 20-year-old actress took to Twitter to explain why she hasn’t commented on ‘Finding Neverland’.
Responding to a fan on the micro-blogging site, she wrote: “There’s nothing i can say that hasn’t already been said in regards to defense.
“Taj [Jackson] is doing a perfect job on his own. and i support him. but that’s not my role. i’m just tryna get everyone to chill out and go with the flow, be mellow and think about the bigger picture. that’s me. (sic)”
While Paris praised her cousin Taj Jackson, 45, for speaking out in defence of his uncle and explained her own silence on the issue, she did tell another follower that she shares her father’s “moral compass”.
She tweeted: “I have the same moral compass as my father, but not the level of patience. i’ll fight for love n peace in the same way, but i am more aggressively driven. i don’t sit by idly when i see injustices happen, especially when they’re directed towards me or my family. f**k that noise (sic)”
In Dan Reed’s ‘Leaving Neverland’ documentary, Wade – who testified under oath in Michael’s 2005 child sex abuse trial that the musician never abused him – claims that he was molested by the singer from the age of seven until 14.
James – who previously testified on Michael’s behalf when he was accused of sexual abuse in 1993 – claimed he was abused from the age of 10 until he reached puberty.
The Michael Jackson estate has hit back at the allegations branding both accusers “perjurers” and “admitted liars”.

Louis Theroux announces Mother on the Edge documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Theroux’s next BBC2 documentary will be about postpartum mental illness.
‘Mothers on the Edge’ will see the broadcaster spending time at two UK specialist psychiatric units which take care of women suffering from serious mental illness, while also letting them live alongside their babies.
While on the wards, he will meet a number of mothers battling a range of issues including anxiety, depression and psychosis, which can be triggered both by the difficulties of motherhood or birth itself.
Speaking about the hour-long, one-off documentary, Louis said: “Postpartum mental illness, like many aspects of mental health, is all too common and not acknowledged enough.
“We as a society do so much to celebrate new motherhood and to romanticise the relationship between new mothers and their babies, for understandable reasons.
“But the sad fact is, for many mums, their experience of having a baby is traumatic and they don’t experience Hallmark Card feelings of love.”
The film – set to air on BBC2 in May 2019 – will also see him following patients recovering at home, and the challenge they face.
He added: “The women we featured in this film took a huge leap of faith in opening up and speaking to me. They bared a great deal of their souls and risked the judgement of less understanding elements of society.
“Their bravery and candour is awe-inspiring, and it was a privilege to be invited into their families during a most vulnerable period in their lives.
“I hope this film will go some way to helping normalise postpartum mental illness and stimulate a discussion on how we can best care for mothers at the time they need it the most.”

Netflix confirms price increase testing for UK customers

OHMYGOSSIP — Netflix is testing price increases for customers in the UK.
The streaming platform – which broadcasts the likes of ‘Stranger Things’, ‘Sex Education’ and ‘Black Mirror’ – has confirmed that some customers will be seeing higher pricing, including the cost of the Premium package subscription going from £9.99 to as much as £12.99.
A Netflix spokesperson told Digital Spy: “We are testing slightly different prices to better understand how members value Netflix.
“Not everyone will see this test and we may never roll out these specific prices beyond this test. Our goal is to ensure that Netflix is always great value for money.”
The test follows speculation from UK customers in January after Netflix increased prices for users in the US.
At the time, the company said: “Price increases are specific to each country and the US increase does not influence or indicate a UK price change.”
The news of the test comes after Netflix was forced to deny claims it has shuffled the episode order of new animation series ‘Love, Death & Robots’ based on the user’s sexuality following claims on social media.
The company tweeted: “We’ve never had a show like Love, Death & Robots before so we’re trying something completely new: presenting four different episode orders.
“The version you’re shown has nothing to do with gender, ethnicity, or sexual identity — info we don’t even have in the first place.”
Meanwhile, research firm Ampere Analysis recently revealed a study suggesting that for all the 2018 releases available on the platform in the US, just over half of these were originals, meaning the share has more than doubled since it was recorded in December 2016.

Jameela Jamil brands Khloe Kardashian ‘irresponsible’ for promoting weight loss shake

OHMYGOSSIP — Jameela Jamil has branded Khloe Kardashian as “irresponsible” for promoting a weight loss shake.
The 33-year-old actress has criticised the 34-year-old reality star for promoting Flat Tummy Co. meal replacement shakes on her Instagram and insisted that the product could have negative side effects while claiming the drink has nothing to do with how Khloe achieves her sexy figure.
Commenting on Khloe’s Instagram post, Jameela said: “If you’re too irresponsible to: a) own up to the fact that you have a personal trainer, nutritionist, probable chef, and a surgeon to achieve your aesthetic, rather than this laxative product … And b) tell them the side effects of this NON-FDA approved product, that most doctors are saying aren’t healthy.
“Side effects such as: Possible Flat Tummy Tea side effects are cramping, stomach pains, diarrhea and dehydration … Then I guess I have to. (sic)”
The ‘Good Place’ actress went on urge the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star to “be smarter” than promoting the brand and “hurt other girls” who see the post.
She continued: “It’s incredibly awful that this industry bullied you until you became this fixated on your appearance, that’s the media’s fault. But now please don’t put that back into the world, and hurt other girls, the way you have been hurt. You’re a smart woman. Be smarter than this. (sic)”
This isn’t the first time Jameela has spoken out against Khloe. Earlier this year, the star slammed Khloe for sharing a post on her Instagram story that read: “2 Things a Girl Wants: 1) Lose Weight 2) Eat.”
Sharing a screenshot of the post, Jameela wrote: “Makes me sad.
“I hope my daughter grows up wanting more than this. I want more than this.”
