Noah Centineo in talks to play He-Man

OHMYGOSSIP — Noah Centineo is in talks to play He-Man.
The 22-year-old actor is reportedly set to star in Sony Pictures and Mattel Films’ upcoming live-action film reboot of the ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’ 1980s toy line and cartoon, according to The Wrap.
The ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’ star worked with Sony on the hotly-anticipated ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot and Variety reports that the studio are “eager” to work with Noah once again.
The film will be helmed by Aaron and Adam Nee, while Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, penned the script after taking over from David S. Goyer.
Plot details are as-yet unknown but the original animated series focused on Prince Adam who lives on the planet Eternia and can use his Sword of Power to turn into He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, by uttering the words “By the Power of Grayskull!”
He-Man must use powers to defend Eternia from the evil Skeletor whose goal is to conquer the mysterious fortress of Castle Grayskull, from which He-Man draws his strength, so he can rule Eternia and the rest of the universe.
In 2016, director McG proclaimed he was “laser-focused” on making a new ‘Masters of the Universe’ film and insisted the upcoming He-Man reboot was his “absolute passion”, however, it was announced last year that the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ director was no longer attached to the project.
The cartoon was previously brought to the big screen in 1987 as a live-action movie with Dolph Lundgren playing He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor. A young Courteney Cox also earned just her second film credit playing the character Julie Winston who aides He-Man in his quest to save Earth from the invading Skeletor.

Clean Bandit’s Elton John collab will be out before he retires

OHMYGOSSIP — Clean Bandit’s collaboration with Sir Elton John will likely appear on their next album.
The chart-topping electronic trio – comprised of Grace Chatto and brothers Jack and Luke Patterson – put off releasing their song with the 71-year-old music legend as they felt it was “too good” for their 2018 LP ‘What Is Love?’ – which features the likes of Ellie Goulding, Marina and Rita Ora.
But after months of teasing the track, they’ve revealed they are going to make their next record “stylistically different” to make way for their song with the ‘Rocket Man’ hitmaker, which they promised will be released before he finishes his retirement tour, which wraps in December 2020.
Cellist Grace told the Daily Star newspaper: “We have a lot of new songs including the one with Elton John but we kind of thought it was too good for our album.
“So the next album is going to be stylistically different, we want to get him (Elton) before he retires, well we already have the recording.”
Grace previously revealed that Elton’s song harks back to their ‘Rather Be’ era.
She said: “We realised there was a sound developing in a certain part of the Venn diagram of the album and we wanted to push that.
“It was kind of this tropical, plastic-y, mournful sound, whereas his songs were more from the ‘Rather Be’ world.”
The group – who have also worked with the likes of Anne-Marie, Zara Larsson and Craig David – previously praised the mood the ‘Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker brought to the studio.
Grace said: “He was so funny! He sat down at the piano and didn’t stop playing for the whole day, just constant ideas flowing. He was telling loads of jokes at the same time.”
Meanwhile, Clean Bandit have recently been in the studio with Latin pop star Anitta.
Grace said: “We are making a track with Brazilian star Anitta who is the most amazing being.
“She is so good.
“We did a lot of shows out there earlier this year, it was our first time in South America.
“They are probably the best crowds we’ve had anywhere in the world.
“The crowds there are mad.”

Liam Gallagher’s son Gene features on his new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher’s son Gene is set to appear on his dad’s new album.
The 17-year-old aspiring rock star – whose mother is Liam’s ex-wife Nicole Appleton – has recorded the bongos on a song on the former Oasis frontman’s eagerly-awaited follow-up to his 2017 debut solo LP ‘As You Were’.
Sharing a black and white studio snap of Gene playing percussion, Liam tweeted: “Gene laying down some bongos on my new tune as you were LG x (sic)”
In October, it was revealed that Gene had started his own band Gimmo with two of his pals, with him on lead vocals and guitar.
A source said: “Gene has grown up surrounded by music and has always had aspirations to follow in his dad’s footsteps.
“Earlier this year two of his best friends suggested forming a trio.
“They’ve got a bank of catchy new songs and there’s already interest from some big management companies.”
Urok, who manage Liam, and his rival brother and former Oasis bandmate Noel Gallagher’s management company Ignition were said to be interested in the trio.
The ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker – who also has Molly, 21, with Lisa Moorish, and Gemma, six, with journalist Liza Ghorbani – previously revealed Gene was “desperate” to follow in his footsteps and start making music and form his own group.
Asked why Gene and his older brother Lennon, 19 – Liam’s eldest boy with former spouse Patsy Kensit – didn’t join their father on his tour of Australia two years ago, Liam replied: “They’re still in school. I’m kinda in trouble at the moment for bringing them out of school on tour.
“I did offer to bring them out, but I think travelling to Australia is just a little bit too far for their little brains. They’ll regret it man.
“Lennon does a bit of modelling for whoever, he does stuff in New York. Gene’s still in sixth form but he’s desperate to be in a band. He plays guitar and drums, he’s on the look out for band members.”
Liam said at the time that he had never heard his son sing before, but he’s sure he’ll do well in the industry because he can play guitar and has the right look to be a rocker.
Asked what his voice is like, Liam replied: “I’ve not heard him sing, but he’s got the attitude and the look for sure. He’s a good little guitar player, he’s better than me. I mean, I can’t play, but he’s good.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Crosby is set to star in a new ‘Gogglebox’-style show for MTV.

John Challis back Del Boy statue at Nelson Mandela House site

OHMYGOSSIP — John Challis has backed a campaign for a Del Boy statue to be erected on an iconic ‘Only Fools and Horses’ setting ahead of its demolition.
The 76-year-old star – who played Aubrey ‘Boycie’ Boyce on the classic British sitcom – wants to commemorate the fictional London tower block Nelson Mandela House, which featured in the show’s opening credits and was the home of Del (Sir David Jason) and Rodney Trotter (Nicholas Lyndhurst).
Harlech Tower in Acton, west London – which was used as the exterior of Nelson Mandela House – is set to be demolished, and comedy channel Gold has launched a petition for a plaque or a statue of David’s iconic character to be placed there in commemoration.
John said: “The towers carry a lot of nostalgia for many of us – not just the cast, but everyone who has enjoyed watching the show over the years.
“While we don’t want to stand in the way of any progress being made, we do want to commemorate the towers’ long-standing connection to ‘Only Fools and Horses’ and its British comedy legacy.”
Along with the petition – which needs a total of 1,500 signatures to be submitted to Ealing Council for consideration – Gold has also unveiled initial designs to drum up support.
The flat was home to many of the how’s best loved scenes, including Granddad’s disastrous Christmas dinner in 1981 episode ‘Christmas Crackers’.
The popular comedy aired for seven series between 1981 and 1991, while fans were also treated to several Christmas specials until the show’s end in 2003.

David Dimbleby to host Have I Got News For You

OHMYGOSSIP — David Dimbleby is to host ‘Have I Got News For You’.
The 80-year-old presenter will chair the next episode of the popular panel show – which will be his first BBC presenting stint since he left ‘Question Time’ – and while he is excited, he joked team captains Ian Hislop and Paul Merton could be “difficult”.
David said: “It is an intriguing invitation. When chairing ‘Question Time’ I became used to dealing with difficult panellists – but Ian Hislop and Paul Merton are another matter.
“They have turned disruptive subversion into an art form. It will be quite a challenge to keep the show on the road but whatever happens it will be fun.”
David chaired the BBC’s flagship political programme ‘Question Time’ from 1994, but he decided to walk away from the role at the end of 2018, insisting it was “the right moment to leave”.
He previously explained: “At the end of the year, I will have been chairing ‘Question Time’ for a quarter of a century and I have decided that this is the right moment to leave.
“It has been a privilege to work for a programme which brings voters face to face with those in power. I am grateful to the production teams and to the BBC who have made this possible.”
And while the network were sad to see their legendary host leave the popular quiz show, they stated they were “looking forward” to working with David on other programmes over the coming years.
David will present ‘Have I Got News For You’ when it returns to BBC One at 9pm on Friday April 5th.

Winston Duke says his Black Panther character was sexualised by fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Winston Duke didn’t expect his ‘Black Panther’ character to be “sexualised and fetishised” as much as he was.
The 32-year-old actor played Jabari Tribe leader M’Baku in the 2018 acclaimed Marvel blockbuster and he has claimed with his big screen breakout role came a huge amount of objectification surrounding his body, making him a “sexual object”.
Winston claims it highlights double standards in society because if he were a female it “wouldn’t be acceptable”.
Speaking to the latest issue of ES Magazine, he said: “I didn’t expect to be, um, kind of sexualised and fetishised like that. I didn’t want to be consumed only as a sexual object. Although it felt good, if it was done to a woman, it wouldn’t be acceptable.
“It was really important to me to steer the conversation towards asking why people are reacting that way. How often do they see characters like this on film? How often do they see black men represented with so much dimension and class, with a masculinity that feels authentic, yet malleable? I don’t think that’s represented very often, and it’s really important to point that out.”
The ‘Us’ star went on to say that he doesn’t adhere to traditional gender stereotypes and explained that the absence of his father growing up made him believe in “strong femininity”.
He said: “I didn’t learn one way to be a man, and the thing that stayed constant was strong femininity.
“I could appreciate strength as its own thing, not attached to gender. Being raised that way also taught me that it’s OK to talk, to cry.”
Winston added that he doesn’t find it rude when fans bark at him in the style of his ‘Black Panther’ character – who is at first in opposition to the Black Panther, King of Wakanda T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman).
He said: “Not at all, I understand what it means to fans of the film, to be able to identify with characters in a way they never would have been able to with, say, a ‘Harry Potter’ film. It’s cool if they want to bark at me.”
The full interview with Winston appears in this week’s issue of ES Magazine which is available from Thursday 21 March 2019.

Faye Brookes: Corrie death aftermath left me sobbing

OHMYGOSSIP — Faye Brookes says filming the aftermath of her on-screen fiancee’s death in ‘Coronation Street’ has left her “sobbing”.
The 31-year-old actress’ alter-ego Kate Connor was a blubbing mess in last night’s (20.03.19) ‘Corrie’ double header when her fiancée Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia) was tragically killed off after being crushed by the collapsed Underworld factory roof – and Faye has warned viewers to expect more tears.
She said: “All the aftermath has made me sob. Having to continue life without her and all things I [Kate] wish I could have said and all the things I want to say.
“I’m going to miss that face.”
Bhavna added: “I’m going to miss everyone, it’s quite emotional.”
The 34-year-old star praised the crew who worked on the dramatic scenes, admitting their huge effort ensured there was “not much stress on set” for the actors.
She said: “The attention to detail is insane. They’ve spent so much time and effort putting this together.
“Everything has been so well thought out so there is not much stress on set when it comes to the technicalities, so we can just concentrate.”
Faye also praised her co-star Bhavna – who was required to lie down covered in dust and debris on the factory floor for her last two episodes – for her portrayal, and admits she feels “really privileged” to have been a part of the big factory roof collapse plot.
Speaking in a joint video on the ‘Corrie’ Twitter account, she added: “Everyone has so much respect for what Bhavna had to do as well, because she’s kind of playing the victim so it’s all playing around her.
“I just feel really privileged to be a part of this storyline.”

Bhavna Limbachia wants Killing Eve role

OHMYGOSSIP — Bhavna Limbachia has set her sights on joining ‘Killing Eve’ after her ‘Coronation Street’ character was killed off last night (20.03.19).
The 34-year-old star has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Phoebe Waller-Bridge – who developed the BBC One drama from the ‘Codename Villanelle’ novella series by Luke Jennings – admitting it is her “ultimate dream” to be a part of the second series.
She said: “‘Killing Eve’ is my ultimate dream. I think Phoebe Waller-Bridge is just a fantastic writer and I’d love to play such a strong character.
“I’ve had so many great opportunities on ‘Coronation Street’ and they’ve trusted me with so many big storylines, so I’m ready to get my teeth into something definitely.
“I’m just excited to see what the future holds. I’ve spent a good part of two years crying on screen, so I’d love to do some more comedy and do some more drama.”
Bhavna bowed out of the ITV soap last night when her character Rana Habeeb was killed off after the Underworld factory roof fell on top of her on her wedding day to Kate Connor (Faye Brookes).
And the star admits filming the hard-hitting scenes covered in dust was the “most challenging time” in her career.
She said: “They were quite intense and quite difficult. Probably the most challenging time in my career.
“I filmed under rubble for about a week. It was full on.
“I was put on a board every day with wheels on and they wheeled me in and out of the rubble every day, so that was interesting.
“We had goggles and masks to protect us from the dust, so that was a good challenge.”
Despite asking to be killed off, Bhavna admitted she had spent “weeks” racking her brain to think of a reason why Rana might leave Kana so her character wouldn’t have to meet her maker – but she decided it was for the best for her to die.
She said: “It’s the nicest place I’ve ever worked and I was getting comfortable.
“I would stay forever, but this was the only time before I have more responsibility to take a few risks, so I decided to leave.
“I was trying to come up with reasons for why Rana would leave Kate. I was racking my brains for weeks trying to come up with a reason, but the truth is she would never leave Kate.
“The only way they could be apart is if the decision was taking out of their hands.”
What’s more, Rana’s death has led to some viewers comparing her passing to an online theory that LGBTQ+ couples aren’t allowed to last long term in fictional shows and films.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she added: “My decision to leave and be killed off was never meant to offend the LGBTQ+ community.
“It was made with the same way I’ve tried to portray the character throughout the years – and that’s with truth and integrity.”

Yungblud was ‘s****ing himself’ in studio with Travis Barker

OHMYGOSSIP — Yungblud was “literally s****ing himself” when Travis Barker came into the studio to work on ’11 Minutes’.
The ‘Loner’ rocker collaborated with the Blink-182 drummer and his girlfriend Halsey on the hit song, and couldn’t believe it when the ‘Without Me’ hitmaker texted Travis asking if he’d be up for teaming up on the song, only for him to be in the same room as his idol moments later.
He recalled: “We were in the studio recording it and I said it needs a real drummer on it.
“She’s amazing, we created some magic but it needed some energy, it needs to sound like a Blink-182 record.
“She’s like, ‘Oh I’ll just text Travis Barker’.
“[Travis] was in the studio and 10 minutes later [he was working on the track]. I literally s**t myself – s**t myself thinking about s****ing myself.”
The 20-year-old British star says the song was completed within just three days of the trio being in the studio.
He told Metro.co.uk: “It was such an insane experience and came together so quickly … The record came together within three days of us all meeting each other, which is crazy.
“We went to grab a drink and no one in music does that anymore, from my experience, no one in music reaches out to me if they don’t want something.”
Yungblud – whose real name is Dominic Harrison – feels most rock/pop crossover songs are “as charismatic as a pint of cold water”, but that he, Halsey and Travis were able to create “magic” because they are about being real all have a “mutual admiration” for rock.
He explained: “I think that’s why it’s got so much magic to it, it’s such a no bull**** record.
“It’s about something real and all three of us have a mutual admiration for rock music and wanted to create a commercial song that contains the formula of rock music.
“All those collaborations [today] are about as charismatic as a pint of cold water.
“That’s why I think this works because the three artists that are on it just don’t care about anything else but truth.”

The Who tackle fishing and MeToo on ‘current’ new album

OHMYGOSSIP — The Who’s new songs for their upcoming album tackle fishing and #MeToo.
The iconic rock band’s guitarist Pete Townshend – who is joined by frontman Roger Daltrey in the group – has revealed their new tunes for their first record of new material in over a decade are “current” and address a number of issues, such as “how men might have to change in the future”, following the movement against sexual harassment and sexual assault, which has swept the entertainment industry, to the global homelessness epidemic and plight of fishermen.
Townshend also hinted that they have room for some guest artists and that they are keen to get a rapper or female star to lay down some vocals for the album.
Speaking to Absolute Radio, he said: “We are about two thirds of the way through the process.
“I think we’re going to have a really great record.
“I do. I’ve got some good songs.
“They are current. I’ve got songs about homelessness, about the fishing industry, about the way men might have to change in the future after the ‘Me Too’ thing.
“All kinds of current stuff and possibly there’s a bit of room too for a few guests, may be a female vocalist here, or a rapper here, or whatever, we shall see.”
Singer Daltrey has been impressed by his bandmate’s songwriting and admitted it has been a “fun” experience “experimenting” with new sounds.
He said: “We’re experimenting and having fun.
“He’s still got that ability to write those songs that get in your ear like an earworm and go round, and round, and round.”
The ‘Pinball Wizard’ hitmaker says the band – which featured the late drummer Keith Moon and trumpeter John Entwistle in the original line-up – are making the best music they’ve ever made, and heaped praise on their drummer Zac Starkey, the son of Beatles star Ringo Starr, who has been playing with them since 1996.
Asked what it’s like writing new music after almost six decades in the business, the 75-year-old frontman said: “It’s easy because we’re both stone deaf, so we don’t play loud any more, we play well, which is good.
“And we let the PA make all the noise.
“So musically I think it’s better than it’s ever been, to be honest with you. We can’t replace John and Keith, but Zac Starkey is the next best Keith Moon drummer there is around.”
Daltrey – who has documented his battle with deafness and has taken to lip-reading nowadays – says that if he doesn’t keep singing, he could risk losing his voice, and he doesn’t want to retire just yet.
He said: “People don’t realise that as a singer, if I stop singing at my age now for a year, I won’t have a voice to go back to.
“So I’ve got to keep singing if I want to do anything in future at all.”
The band have been recording their first studio album since 2006’s ‘Endless Wire’ at the iconic British Grove Studios – where The Rolling Stones produced their 2016 covers LP ‘Blue & Lonesome’.
As well as new music, The Who will bring their ‘Moving On! Tour’ to the London’s The SSE Arena, Wembley, on July 6.
The gig will see the band joined by special guests, including Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Kaiser Chiefs.
As previously confirmed, the show will feature the pair playing songs from their back catalogue accompanied by an orchestra, but Daltrey previously reassured fans that it doesn’t mean they will be giving their performance any less “throttle”.

Cindy Crawford’s husband Rande Gerber ‘hates’ make-up

OHMYGOSSIP — Cindy Crawford’s husband Rande Gerber “hates” it when she wears make-up.
The 53-year-old supermodel – who has children Presley, 19 and Kaia, 17 with the entrepreneur – is known for her flawless complexion and glowing skin, and like most women she loves to apply beauty products.
Cindy has revealed that she had to explain to her spouse that women wear make-up for themselves and not men, when he admitted he prefers her with a bare face.
Speaking in a beauty tutorial video for Vogue, she said: “Most women want to have a simple routine that you know you’re going to feel good incase you run into someone you used to go to high school with.
“My husband hates make-up, so this is already too much make-up for him. But I do explain to him that women do make-up for other women, not men.”
Cindy admitted that she wears less make-up as she’s “gotten older” because she likes to concentrate on how her skin looks.
She added: “I have found as I’ve gotten older I wear way less make-up. I would say that’s the biggest evolution for me which is kind of counter-intuitive, but that also means that taking care of your skin is more important because you’re not covering it up with makeup.”
The brunette beauty also explained that she learns a lot of beauty hacks from her fashion mogul daughter.
She said: “I do learn tricks from Kaia. If she wants to do a cat eye, she learns. She just YouTubes it and all of the sudden she’ll come out and say ‘Oh look I tried this new look today.’ And I’ll be like, ‘Wait how’d you do that?'”

Grimes to kill off stage name

OHMYGOSSIP — Grimes is going to execute her stage name.
The 31-year-old musician – whose real name is Claire Boucher – has admitted she has felt “bound by the limits” of her pop star pseudonym and is planning a “public execution” of Grimes, which she has been known as for the past decade, “soon”.
Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, she said: “I think I’ll kill ‘Grimes’ soon.
“It will be a public execution followed by … by something else.
“I shouldn’t say yet … I’m super bound by the limits I’ve set for myself [as Grimes].
“It would be easier for me if I wasn’t stuck with the branding I made in 2009, you know?”
The Canadian star’s stage name execution announcement comes after she revealed her new album, ‘Miss_Anthropocene’, is set to tackle climate change and Artificial Intelligence (AI), with “human extinction depicted through a pop star demonology”.
In a lengthy note to fans on Instagram, she explained: “Each song will be a different embodiment of human extinction as depicted through a Pop star Demonology.”
The lead single ‘We Appreciate Power’ was released last year and is a taste of what is to come.
She continued: “The first song ‘we appreciate power’, introduced the pro-AI-propaganda girl group who embody our potential enslavement/destruction at the hands of Artificial General intelligence. (sic)”
The ‘Genesis’ singer – who appeared on Bring Me The Horizon’s song ‘nihilist blues’ earlier this year – plans to turn climate change into a “good villain” character, like Queen Beryl from manga series ‘Sailor Moon’ and The Joker from ‘Batman’, so that it’s “easier to look at” and not seen as just an “abstract doom”.
She added: “Climate change is something I’m only ever confronted with in a sad/ guilty way ….
“Reading news and what not … so my goal is to make climate change fun (lol..??)…. uhhh… (I mean, everybody loves a good villain … re: the joker, Queen Beryl).. so maybe it’ll be a bit easier to look at if it can exist as a character and not just abstract doom. (sic)”
In 2014, Grimes revealed that her name was inspire by the UK sub-genre of hip-hop, Grime, which she stumbled upon on MySpace.
Grimes’ fifth album will follow 2015’s ‘Art Angels’.

Jenny McCarthy had ‘miserable’ time on The View

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenny McCarthy had a “miserable” time hosting ‘The View’.
The 46-year-old star didn’t enjoy being on the panel of the daytime show from 2013-2014 because veteran host Barbara Walters, now 89, constantly scrutinised her appearance.
In an excerpt from Ramin Setoodeh’s upcoming book, ‘Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View’ obtained by Vulture, Jenny said: “If she didn’t agree with it, or it didn’t complement her outfit, I had to change.
“Mind you, she doesn’t look at anyone’s clothes but mine. I’d go ‘Barbara, you’re wearing your own clothes.’… I always had to put on a sweater.”
Jenny claims she had to change her outfit at least 50 times during her short stint on the show – and sometimes Barbara would insist on wearing the same ensemble she’d just ordered the former Playmate to remove.
She said: “[Barbara] wanted to start dressing like me.
“There were times when she’d say change, and she’d make people run out and get that dress in her size. I was a human Barbie doll.”
Things eventually felt so bad for the blonde beauty, she began to “hide” from her co-host.
She said: “When I’d hear the shuffle of her feet, I knew that Barbara was after me. It would get faster. Oh my God — she’s coming! Based on the speed of the shuffle, I would hide or get on the phone.”
Every day, the ‘Masked Singer’ star would worry about which side of Barbara she would encounter that day, comparing the situation to that in ‘Mommie Dearest’, the biographical drama about Joan Crawford’s allegedly abusive relationship with her daughter Christina.
She said: “[I’d tell myself] ‘Hopefully, I get the Barbara Walters who is nice’.
“You know the movie ‘Mommie Dearest’?” I remember as a child watching that movie and going, ‘Holy cow!’
“I’ve never seen a woman yell like that before until I worked with Barbara Walters.”
Jenny – who turned down her own talk show for the job on ‘The View’ – claimed she initially thought she was hired to discuss pop culture but was eventually told they couldn’t talk about it any more because Barbara “doesn’t know who the people are”, leaving her feeling out of her depth when asked to talk about politics instead.
She said: “I panicked because I don’t consider myself a political person.
“Now I had to figure out, ‘Am I coming out as a Republican or a Democrat? Where do I stand on all the social issues and political issues?’
“I was going to work crying. I couldn’t be myself. My fans were telling me, ‘Where’s Jenny? They aren’t letting you be you.’ ”
But with the presenter at the time aged 83 and approaching her final year on the show, Jenny did have sympathy towards her and felt no “hard feelings”.
She said: “Imagine a woman like Barbara Walters. It’s her last year and she doesn’t want to leave. Think about that. And I’m the new bitch there…
“Look at what Barbara did to me. I had zero hard feelings. I loved her like a grandma. She didn’t know any better.”

Ricky Gervais couldn’t have been successful comic in his 20s

OHMYGOSSIP — Ricky Gervais thinks “getting fat and old and ugly” has helped his comedy.
The 57-year-old comic didn’t find fame until his late 30s and is glad he didn’t as he would have been “awful” and had nothing to talk about if he’d started his stand-up career in his 20s.
He said: “No, I wasn’t [doing it in my 20s]. God, I would have been awful. I didn’t know anything. I can’t think what I would have talked about.
“Before I could do it, I had to learn to relate. Getting fat and old and ugly helped with that.
“I don’t know if you’ve heard of Simon Amstell. He’s a British comedian. He once said something about young, handsome people doing comedy, like, ‘People are already looking at you; why do you need this?’ ”
The ‘After Life’ creator is a prolific Twitter user and admitted he finds the microblogging website very useful when it comes to finding inspiration for new material.
He explained in an interview with the New York Times newspaper: “If I’m doing a warm-up show and I’m about five minutes short of material, I’ll search Twitter for provocative things.
“You find those dark corners. That’s a good thing about Twitter: I used to have to meet these maniacs, like Agent Clarice Starling meeting Hannibal Lecter. Now I can find the dregs from the safety of my Hampstead mansion.
“I can see a cross section of society a thousand times faster than I could’ve otherwise. I’ve got 13 million followers. That’s the world, really. I’ll tweet, ‘What’s a subject you should never joke about?’ Some people fall for the trap and say something like, ‘Psoriasis’. Then I can come up with 10 minutes on that.”

Jessica Simpson staying in luxury hospital suite

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Simpson is recovering in a $4,000 luxury hospital suite.
The ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ actress and husband Eric Johnson – who already have Maxwell, six, and five-year-old Ace together – welcomed daughter Birdie into the world on Tuesday (19.03.19), and after her planned cesarean section, the 38-year-old star will be able to recover in style.
Jessica will spend a few days in the maternity suite at Cedars-Sinai hospital, and her luxury accommodation includes a meal delivery plan for both her and her husband, a lounge area for her guests, including multiple beds in case her parents or children want to stay over, two luxury bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and a flat screen TV.
And if the ‘Irresistible’ singer needs any help with baby Birdie, a personal doula is available around the clock.
That’s not all, as hospital staff are also able to arrange salon services, including manicures and hair treatments, for their deluxe suite patients.
On Wednesday (20.03.19), Jessica announced Birdie’s arrival alongside a black and white photo of her oldest child meeting her baby sister.
She captioned the image: “We are so happy and proud to announce the birth of our perfect daughter, Birdie Mae Johnson. 3.19.19 10 Pounds 13 Ounces (sic)”
Sources revealed both Maxwell and Ace were at the hospital waiting for Birdie to be born, and while they waited, they made special signs to welcome their sister into the world.
The insider told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “They were so excited and couldn’t wait to meet her. Maxwell and Ace were the first ones to hold her after Jessica and Eric.”
According to the source, both Jessica and Eric’s parents were also at the hospital, along with the singer-and-actress’ sister Ashlee Simpson and her husband Evan Ross.
The family members had a competition to guess the weight of the baby, and Jessica’s dad, Joe Simpson, won.
