Ralph Macchio won’t make another Karate Kid film

OHMYGOSSIP — Ralph Macchio doesn’t think he’ll ever make another ‘Karate Kid’ film.
The 57-year-old actor starred as lead character Daniel LaRusso in 1984 teen sports drama ‘The Karate Kid’ and it’s two sequels and he has returned to the beloved character for web television series ‘Cobra Kai’ – which takes place 34 years after the original film and follows the reopening of the Cobra Kai karate dojo by down-and-out Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and the rekindling of his old rivalry with successful businessman LaRusso.
Following the success of ‘Cobra Kai’ there have been discussions about making a fourth ‘Karate Kid’ film with those characters but Macchio thinks the continuation of the story works better as a television project now rather than a big screen project because “movies have changed”.
In an interview with Forbes, he said: “It has been discussed, but it’s not something that I think we’re moving forward with and here’s the reason for that.
“To go back and try to do a traditional major motion picture sequel, movies have changed in the sense of what plays in the movie theatres and for how long. It’s usually big IPs like superhero movies that get that screen time and then there’s everything else. It’s hard.”
The ‘Outsiders’ star went on to explain that “the beauty” of telling the characters’ continuing story in an episodic way is that it “allows the characters to breathe” and can be more in-depth than a motion picture.
He said: “Also, the beauty of doing this as a series is that you’re taking this series and making a five-hour movie then cutting up into ten half-hour parts. It allows the characters to breathe then you’re allowed to go into grey areas of Daniel and Johnny’s lives, to explore the younger characters as well as the plot.
“You’re able to let all of that breathe in a way that, when you’re making a two-hour motion picture, it has to be bigger, louder, powerful and something that keeps you in your seat for two hours and get someone in their car to go to a movie theatre.”
Macchio also discussed the possibility of Elizabeth Shue reprising her role as Ali Mills – LaRusso’s love interest in the original movie helmed by John D. Avildsen – in ‘Cobra Kai’, admitting the idea has been brought up.
He shared: “I know anyone who was in these films can be inferred storywise. The catalyst of this rivalry at the centre of the ‘Karate Kid’ story was this character, Ali, that Elisabeth Shue played. We’d be foolish to say we’re not exploring that. Whether that happens or not, those conversations have been in play. It’s whether it would work organically in the story. I can’t tease anything beyond that. Right now they’re tight-lipped about all that stuff, but anything is possible. We have to hope it all works in our favour.”

Gwyneth Paltrow is selling BDSM lingerie and whips on Goop

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop is selling a $786 BDSM leather lingerie set.
The 46-year-old actress is no stranger to sparking controversy on her lifestyle website by previously advising readers to purchase a $15,000 24k gold vibrator and vaginal jade eggs, however, the star has now turned her attention to the world of BDSM and is selling a nude leather bra and knicker set ($786) alongside a black whip ($300), which promises to fulfil consumers “fantasies”.
The lingerie set’s product description reads: “Handmade in England, this saddle leather bra is what BDSM fantasies are made of.
“O-ring details, racy demi cups for freeing the nipple, buckles to be undone, this piece–paired with the matching knickers–is prepped for full speed ahead. Layer an easy tee underneath for a more subtle statement.”
The ‘Iron Man’ star has previously admitted last month that she would be retiring from her role as Pepper Potts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after the release of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ this summer, and some fans have been asking her if this spells the end of her acting career.
However, Gwyneth has now insisted that whilst her “full-time passion” is now her lifestyle website Goop, she isn’t giving up her Hollywood career completely.
She said: “I’ve never said that I am quitting acting. What I say is Goop is my full-time passion, and being the founder and CEO of Goop is what I do all day every day, and occasionally when something is the right thing and it works out around my children and my Goop life, I’m able to participate.
“I think I’m just not focused on full-time acting right now.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Shakespeare in Love’ actress recently said she felt she was “masquerading as an actor”, when asked if she sees herself “as an actor who developed a career as a lifestyle entrepreneur, or a lifestyle entrepreneur who happened to have a career as an actor.”

Paul Young says touring has helped him cope with grief for late wife

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Young says being on tour helps him cope with his grief for his late wife.
The 62-year-old singer was left heartbroken when his spouse Stacey passed away in January 2018 at the age of 52 following a two-year battle with brain cancer.
Paul returned to the stage for his ’35 Years of No Parlez’ tour last year and in April he will head out for ‘Part 2’ of that run of concerts and he admits performing for his fans brings him joy and stops him from missing his beloved spouse for a time.
Asked whether keeping busy helps with his grief on UK TV show ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (25.03.19), he said: “I think so, I think it’s a good thing. Sometimes I thought it might be putting it off a bit … Sometimes you get home and it feels a bit empty, but then you get used to it again.”
Revealing that Stacey urged him to keep working even when she was unwell, he added: “She was always very up for me working and keeping busy … I just kept going. She realised the importance of it, so I just kept going through most of that.”
The ‘Every Time You Go Away’ hitmaker insists the fact that he and his three kids – Levi, 32, Layla, 25, and Grady, 23 – are so “close” has helped them all deal with the loss of Stacey from their lives.
He said: “We are all a close knit family, we see each other on a regular basis. Levi is 32 and Layla is 25 and Grady is 23 … I always remember that time, I got two girls first, and then I had a boy, I was like, ‘What’s it going to feel like?’ But it is a completely different kind of love.”
Paul has started to include ‘Come Back and Stay’ at the gigs, a track which has significant meaning for the couple as it was on the video shoot for that single in 1983 where he and Stacey met before tying the knot four years later in Los Angeles.

Dara O Briain praises polite new Blockbusters generation

OHMYGOSSIP — Dara O Briain says the new generation of ‘Blockbusters’ contestants are very polite.
The 47-year-old comedian is hosting Comedy Central’s reboot of the popular trivia game show – which was hosted by Bob Holness in the 1980s on ITV – and he has been nothing but impressed with the “delightful” young quizzers who have competed on the programme.
In an interview with the Metro newspaper, Dara said: “We’ve been very mean about millennials when they’re actually quite delightful, work very hard and know lots of things. They don’t just eat avocado toast and Instagram themselves on beaches.”
If Dara was to stop asking the questions and be a competitor on the hexagon board he would have his childhood teddy bear as his mascot.
He said: “There’s as teddy bear I had as a child that we passed on to our own children, who have buried it at the back of a box somewhere. They regard it with no affection so maybe it would be that.”
Dara has got a very busy 2019 ahead of him as he will be hosting ‘Blockbusters’, BBC game show ‘Family Brain Games’, ‘Stargazing Live’ and will be back in his usual seat on satirical panel programme ‘Mock The Week’ when he’s not touring his latest stand-up show ‘Voice of Reason’.
The Irish funnyman is looking forward to having a well-deserved rest later this year but is sure he’ll soon be itching to get back to work.
He said: “‘Blockbusters’ will run for a year and we’ve got ‘Family Brain Games’ on the BBC in June. ‘Stargazing’ is back – we’re going to Cape Kennedy in March to look at the next generation of space travel.
“‘Mock The Week’ as well, but once this tour is done perhaps a little bit of normal life before my wife finds me sitting at home, drumming my fingers, and orders me out of the house.”

Pete Wicks supporting Megan McKenna after Mike Thalassitis’ death

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Wicks is supporting his ex-girlfriend Megan McKenna following Mike Thalassitis’ death.
The 30-year-old reality star has insisted he is “there” for Megan, 26, as she grieves her former partner Mike – whose body was found in woodland near his Essex home earlier this month after tragically took his own life at the age of 26.
Megan – who dated Pete on-and-off for two-and-a-half years – dated the ‘Love Island’ star for seven months and previously admitted she is “in shock” over his passing.
Speaking to the Mirror website, Pete said: “It’s a really tragic thing and I feel for Mike’s family and friends. It’s been a big shock to everyone but especially Megan given their history. Everyone always saw me and Megan as being a nightmare and toxic, which in a relationship we were. But she’s a lovely person. I might not be the best boyfriend but I’m a good friend. Whatever she needs, I’m there.”
The ‘Only Way Is Essex’ star went on to insist that reality shows have a responsibility to ensure the wellbeing of former stars, and thinks producers should “asses the risks” when they select individuals to appear on their television shows.
The ‘Celebs Go Dating’ hunk explained: “Irrespective of whether you’re on telly or not every workplace has got a duty to ensure that people are in a good place – wellbeing should be a priority.
“Before you enter into certain things you have to assess the risks, if you become an electrician what are the risks? Likewise, if you go into reality TV what are the risks? What we do is a job, people forget that. I think people need to assess whether they can deal with the pressures that come with it. I think that it is a duty on any organisation that is putting people in the position of making them famous overnight, that they should also look after them afterwards.”

Sir Elton John to release autobiography in October

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John will release his autobiography in October.
The ‘Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker marked his 72nd birthday on Monday (25.03.19) by unveiling the cover of ‘Me’ on his Twitter account.
He joked in a short video shared to his page on the microblogging site: “This is the very first time anyone has seen this, apart from me, of course.”
A caption for the video also confirmed the tome will hit shelves on October 15.
It read: “Happy Birthday, Elton! To celebrate this special day, watch Elton reveal the cover and title of his first official autobiography, released October 15th! (sic)”
Elton – who has sons Zachary, eight, and Elijah, six, with husband David Furnish – will write openly about his wild pop star days, his drug addiction and settling down to raise a family.
An official announcement for the book read: “Christened Reginald Dwight, he was a shy boy with Buddy Holly glasses who grew up in the London suburb of Pinner and dreamed of becoming a pop star. By the age of 23, he was on his first tour of America, facing an astonished audience in his tight silver hotpants, bare legs and a T-shirt with ROCK AND ROLL emblazoned across it in sequins.
“Elton John had arrived and the music world would never be the same again.
“His life has been full of drama, from the early rejection of his work with song-writing partner Bernie Taupin to spinning out of control as a chart-topping superstar; from half-heartedly trying to drown himself in his LA swimming pool to disco-dancing with the Queen; from friendships with John Lennon, Freddie Mercury and George Michael to setting up his AIDS Foundation.
“All the while, Elton was hiding a drug addiction that would grip him for over a decade.
“In ‘Me’, Elton also writes powerfully about getting clean and changing his life, about finding love with David Furnish and becoming a father. In a voice that is warm, humble and open, this is Elton on his music and his relationships, his passions and his mistakes.”

Lindsay Lohan’s ‘challenge’ being in front of camera again

OHMYGOSSIP — Lindsay Lohan found it a “challenge” being back in the spotlight with her reality TV series.
The 32-year-old actress documented the opening of her Mykonos club in MTV show ‘Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club’ and admitted she enjoyed being able to show a different side to her life by letting the cameras follow her in Greece.
Speaking during the finale of ‘Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club’, she said: “This summer, I’ve accomplished so many things. It was a really nice experience having people from America come to Greece and show them a different life. I’m usually behind the scenes there.
“It was really different for me. It was definitely a challenge for me even. It’s nice to kind of let loose and shock people and do something fun. I’m sure that people will still find a reason to hate me somehow.”
Lohan’s creative partner and trusted right-hand man, Panos Spentzos, also praised the actress for having a “good heart” and strong business sense.
He added: “The thing about Lindsay, she knows how to run a good business. Lindsay has a good heart. But for me, I’m the asshole. I love torturing these guys.”
The ‘Mean Girls’ star – who also has clubs in Athens and Rhodes – previously admitted how “scary” it has been being filmed running a business and “handling people” on screen.
She said: “When the cameras were on I was very nervous, because I also have to handle the club.
“So I was a little bit shy and timid.
“When I’m doing a movie, that’s my job.
“When I’m running the club, that’s my job.
“Handling people I’ve never met before is not my job. “So it was a very multi-tasking situation. But it was nice.
“I like understanding people and teaching them, so it felt really good for me. But it was definitely scary!”

Mandy Moore ’emboldened by support’ after Ryan Adams allegations

OHMYGOSSIP — Mandy Moore is “emboldened by the support” she’s received from other women since speaking out against Ryan Adams.
The 34-year-old actress and singer claimed earlier this year that her former husband Ryan, 44, was “psychologically abusive” and branded their relationship an “entirely unhealthy dynamic”.
The ‘This Is Us’ star how now praised the “really heartening” response she’s had since speaking out against the alleged abuse she faced and is glad to be an example to other people facing toxic relationships.
Speaking at PaleyFest, she said: “That’s something that I’ve really kind of taken out of this situation. I had no idea. So many women reached out to me, echoing.
“The idea that psychological and emotional is often swept under the rug, or not addressed or not talked about, or not considered in the same category of just general abuse
“I’ve just been really emboldened by the support that, I think, myself and the other women that have spoken out in this particular situation have received. It’s really heartening. And heartening to know that other women can look to it as an example as well.”
The ‘Tangled’ actress previously admitted that her singer-songwriter husband belittled her singing talents, stating: “His controlling behaviour essentially did block my ability to make new connections in the industry during a very pivotal and potentially lucrative time – my entire mid-to-late 20s … Music was a point of control for him.”
Ryan has also faced allegations of inappropriate interactions with an underage girl as well as accusations of psychologically abusive behaviour, harassment, and other misconduct from several other women.

Kit Harington: GoT end will divide opinion

OHMYGOSSIP — Kit Harington thinks the ‘Game of Thrones’ ending will “divide opinion”.
The 32-year-old actor – who plays King in the North Jon Snow – believes the finale will be “strong” but he knows the show has always sparked mixed reactions so isn’t expecting anything else when it draws to a close for good.
He said: “I think it will be strong. But you don’t want to mess it up on the very last outing.
“I haven’t watched a single series that has a following like Thrones does where everyone is satisfied with the ending. I don’t think that it’ll be any different with this. I think it will divide opinion.”
Now the HBO fantasy drama series has wrapped filming, Kit is looking forward to showing off a lighter side and thinks it will surprise fans to see he can be “funny”.
He told Emmy magazine: “I have played possibly the unfunniest character ever to have graced television.
“I love comedy. But Jon Snow is not a joke person. It’s quite nice to now subvert what people see you as, and show that you can be funny.
“In some ways comedy works even better if you’re the overly serious guy in a ridiculous comedy; then it can be even funnier.”
The British actor – who is married to former co-star Rose Leslie – admitted he was “worried” and “anxious” when he first found fame with the show.
He said: “I was enjoying it, but I was concerned, and I was worried, anxious.
“On a personal level as it went on, I stopped letting it have such an impact on me. Yes, I was in this big TV show and I was playing this character… but that’s not my life.”
And though he eventually grew more comfortable, Kit found the level of scrutiny he was under after Jon was killed off in the season 5 finale extremely “unpleasant”.
He said: “It was probably one of the darkest periods I have been through in my life.
“I think it must have had something to do with being a walking cliffhanger: I didn’t enjoy it. You want to be a lead, and then you get all the spotlight of the biggest show in the world onto you for a few months. It’s very disorientating, and weird, and unpleasant in many ways. That’s kind of where I went, ‘I need to separate me from the show a bit.’ ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Giovanni Pernice wants Queen Elizabeth II to be his next partner on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 28-year-old Latin and ballroom professional will be back later this year for the next series of the BBC One show, alongside last year’s winner Kevin Clifton, Dianne Buswell, AJ Pritchard, Katya and Neil Jones and Aljaz Skorjanec to name a few of the returning pros.

Speaking to the latest issue of New! magazine, he said: “I’m really excited [for the new series of ‘Strictly’], but also a little bit scared to see who’s going to be my next partner. I want somebody like Her Majesty Elizabeth, the Queen. There’s a possibility. I was speaking with her and she said she’ll ‘let me know’.”
The ‘Strictly’ star also insisted that the best part of being part of the ballroom show is that it is beloved by people all across the UK.
He added: “It’s the best show on TV and everybody loves it. The best part for me is walking down the street and people saying to me, ‘Thank you for making our Saturday night amazing.’ ”
Celebrity contestants who go on the show have been warned about the ‘Strictly Curse’ which is apparently responsible for breaking up several relationships.
Giovanni, 28, doesn’t believe there is any curse and insists it’s up to the individuals as to what they do in their private life.
The Italian hunk – who is in a relationship with former ‘Strictly’ contestant Ashley Roberts, whom he was not partnered with –
He said: “No it doesn’t [exist]. We are humans – if we decide to be with somebody, we’ll be with somebody, you’re not going to be with them. It’s not something that’s just on ‘Strictly’, but on ‘Strictly’ it’s more visible.”

Retired football manager Harry, 72, isn’t too keen on embracing the modern world, saying: “All of them machines! Arghh, I can’t stand it. I don’t use them. I think it’s quite dangerous for pensioners.”
June, 92, had difficulty using an Amazon Alexa and thinks modern gadgets merely “complicate life”.
June – who joined ‘East Enders’ as Dot Cotton in 1985 – said: “Why isn’t life simple? That’s what I want to know? We complicate life. I hate gadgets and I hate social networks!”
Amanda – who is most famous for playing Alma Sedgewick on ‘Corrie’ – also quipped that she wasn’t keen on the concept of driverless cars and described them as “sinister” and “so dangerous.”
She said: “Driverless cars to me sound really sinister in some way and so dangerous but they’re not coming out for another five years and I’ll be dead by then so I’ll be fine. I’m not going to worry about it!”

Olivia Attwood says Chris Hughes ‘suited’ to Jesy Nelson as he ‘loves’ fame

The 27-year-old reality star ‘”isn’t surprised” that her former boyfriend – who she met on ‘Love Island’ in 2017- is dating the Little Mix member as he likes being in the spotlight and admitted that since rekindling her own romance with footballer Bradley Dack she doesn’t give Chris, 26, a “second thought”.
In an interview with HELLO! magazine, she said: “I wouldn’t say I was surprised. Chris loves being famous so in that respect I’d say they’re well suited.
“I never give Chris a second thought. If we were in a room together right now I wouldn’t have anything to say to him.”
Olivia dated Bradley prior to her appearance on ‘Love Island’ and reunited with the Blackburn Rovers player last May after her seven-month relationship with Chris came to an end.
Bradley, 25, confessed that he wants to pop the question later this year and has already started planning the proposal.
He said: “I’d love to propose this year; I’ve already started planning it. I’m very shy so it’ll probably be something very private but I want it to be super romantic. ”
The blonde beauty added that she’ll be “counting down the days” until the footballer proposes and can’t wait to wear her “teardrop diamond” engagement ring.
She said: “I’m going to be watching my diary and counting down the days now! I want a huge wedding. Our friends are lunatics so it’ll be absolute carnage, it’ll end up being a three-day bender.
“I want a teardrop diamond ring, the bigger the better. I love the way an engagement ring looks, it finishes off the outfit nicely. ”

Big Sean sought therapy

OHMYGOSSIP — Big Sean sought therapy after “losing” himself.
The ‘Blessings’ hitmaker admits there was a time where he felt very detached from who he was as a person but his therapist taught him about how he was missing “clarity” from his life.
He said: “I wasn’t feeling like myself and I couldn’t figure out why. I just felt lost and I don’t know how I got there … I got a good therapist. I was blessed enough to talk to some super spiritual people. They made me realise one thing I was missing in my life, and the one thing I was missing was clarity. Clarity about who was around me, what I was doing.”
And the 31-year-old rapper has decided to make his primary focus himself than others and he has now “rediscovered” himself and found a “whole new energy” of which he is the source of.
Speaking in a number of videos posted to his Instagram account, he added: “I started realising, you can’t depend on somebody for love and a good time and all that if you can’t give it to yourself. I started doing things by myself, doing things I never thought I’d do, like going skydiving or whatever I thought was fun. In the midst I definitely rediscovered myself, found a whole new energy, and me being a source of it and not somebody else.”
Big Sean had previously urged his fans to “spread the light” of positivity as he believes people who are kind to others will be met with “nothing but success”.
He said: “They could take shots at us. They can tear us down but what you gotta understand [is] our bodies are just a shell.
“But what they can’t take away is our impact, our ideas, what we leave behind. It don’t matter what skin colour you are. Make sure you spread that light. I realise that karma is a real thing and if you put that light, that energy out there, you’re gonna get nothing but success. I truly mean that.”

Alanis Morissette expecting third child

OHMYGOSSIP — Alanis Morissette is expecting her third child.
The ‘You Oughta Know’ hitmaker – who is already a mother to Onyx Solace, two, and Ever Imre, eight – has announced the exciting news about her growing family, as she also teased new music was on its way.
Captioning a picture of herself in the studio, with her baby bump clearly on display underneath her black dress, she wrote alongside heart and praying emojis: “so much NEWness… (sic)”
Meanwhile, Alanis previously likened the birth of her daughter – her youngest child – to 1970s horror movie, ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’.
She said: “It was terrifying, but then once we heard her, and once she cried [and] I pulled her up and she started breastfeeding, I was just like, ‘Ah.’ It gets gnarlier and gnarlier. I think the words ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ were used when [my midwife and doula] walked in. It’s pretty gnarly, but it’s not meant to be all clean and perfect. We are animals. It’s like an 18-wheeler careening through your whole body. It’s beyond pain. I have a high tolerance for pain … this trumped all …
“Souleye caught Onyx. He was coaching me and I was coaching him. [The midwife] came and we were, all three of us, just kind of stunned. But I’d seen so many videos of women giving birth in water with dolphins and fields. I knew that the babies, when there’s a low-risk birth, come out in whatever way they come out.
“I thought it would take a few hours and it took literally 59 minutes. And she flew out. And then, about half an hour later, everyone stormed in and they had their capes on and they just cleaned up and helped [with] everything. I was just crawling for about two or three weeks because every time I stood up, I was going to pass out.”
