Alex Rodriguez praises ‘beautiful’ Jennifer Lopez

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex Rodriguez has praised his “beautiful” fiancée Jennifer Lopez for “working so hard”.
The 43-year-old retired baseball star got engaged to the ‘Shades of Blue’ actress earlier this month, and has now heaped praise on the beauty for her hard work, as she prepares to head to the set of her new movie project ‘Hustlers’.
In a post on Instagram, Alex wrote: “This beautiful woman starts shooting her movie tomorrow, Hustlers. I won’t play spoiler, but I can’t wait until you all see how she transforms herself into a completely different character!!
“She’s been working so hard lately. I’m glad we were able to enjoy a quick little break before she dives into this new project. Love you baby and continue to shine, fly high and inspire all of us. (sic)”
Alex’s sweet words come after the pair recently revealed they do “everything” together, including raising their blended family, Jennifer and ex-husband Marc Anthony’s 11-year-old twins Max and Emme, and Alex and his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis’ two daughters, Natasha, 14, and 10-year-old Ella.
Jennifer, 49, said: “Everything that we do, we do together. He knows my dreams and I know his dreams, and together we feel like we’re stronger…
“We’re constantly supporting each other in our individual endeavours and thinking about all the things that we can build together.”
And after recently returning home from the Bahamas vacation where they got engaged, the couple couldn’t be happier together.
Jennifer told People magazine: “We’re really happy.”
Alex added: “We have [an] appreciation for where we are in our lives today, and that’s what we’re enjoying the most.”

Clueless cast reunite and pay tribute to Brittany Murphy

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Silverstone led touching tributes to her late co-star Brittany Murphy during a ‘Clueless’ reunion.
The cast of the classic 1995 teen rom-com, Alicia, Paul Rudd, Breckin Meyer and Donald Faison, reunited for a panel at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo on Saturday (23.03.19), where they shared their fondest memories of the star, a decade after her tragic death at the age of 32, with Alicia revealing that she knew Brittany was “the one” for the part of Tai Frasier right away.
The 42-year-old actress – who portrayed Cher Horowitz – said: “I had to tell [writer/director] Amy [Heckerling] just in case she didn’t know that Brittany Murphy was the one that had to play the part.
“She was so good.”
She also gushed about Brittany – who died of pneumonia and anaemia in December 2009 – delivering “one of her favourite” lines in the film.
Alicia recalled: “I love when she says, ‘You’re a virgin who can’t drive.’
“It’s just one of my favourite moments of the whole movie. It’s just, her face scrunches up so good.”
Breckin Meyer, who portrayed Brittany’s on-screen love interest Travis Birkenstock, gushed about how versatile she was as an actress, referencing her role as Alex alongside Eminem’s Rabbit in ‘8 Mile’.
He added: “Ridiculously talented. Like, you see Tai, and then you watch ‘8 Mile’, and you’re like, ‘That’s the same person?'”
Whilst Paul Rudd – who played Josh – said: “She was a sweet person, too. She was … she was just always so smiley. And sweet.”
Donald Faison (Murray) added: “She could sing, she could dance.”
After the reunion, Alicia posted a selfie with her co-stars and one with Paul on Instagram.
Gushing about the ‘Ant-Man’ star, she wrote: “Such a sweet reunion last night at dinner with my pal #PaulRudd. I love this guy! I mean he ordered vegan for both of us….. Swoon One more day to go at #c2e2, hope to see u tomorrow! (sic)”
Alicia admitted Paul, Breckin and Donald had her “laughing so hard” at the Expo.
The other snap was captioned: “So much fun hanging out with these boys today #paulrudd @donald_aison and @breckinmeyer! They had me laughing so hard on our panel. Such a great day at #c2e2 (sic)”

Ben Affleck has Dunkin Donuts ‘every day’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck has Dunkin’ Donuts “every day”.
The ‘Triple Frontier’ star – who is often spotted carrying a cup of his favourite beverage from the popular US fast food chain – feels like a promoter for the brand as he goes there all the time in Los Angeles.
He told Collider: “It’s amazing! I have Dunkin Donuts everyday.
“It’s very weird, I have it every day and people are always like, ‘Where is that? Is that near here?’ So, I feel like I’m spreading the word.”
Meanwhile, Ben – who has children Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, and Samuel, seven, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner – recently admitted alcoholism is a “part of [his] life” so he is happy to talk about his addiction.
The 46-year-old actor says it “doesn’t really bother” him to speak about his struggles with alcohol and current sobriety and he feels proud that he has been to rehab and tackled his problem.
He said: “It doesn’t really bother me to talk about alcoholism and being an alcoholic.
“It’s part of my life, it’s something that I deal with.
“It doesn’t have to subsume my whole identity and be everything but it is something that you have to work at.
“I had a problem and I really want to address it and I take some pride in that.
“It’s about yourself, your life, your family… we encounter these kinds of hurdles and we have to deal with them.”
And he praised his “wonderful” ex-wife Jennifer for being such a “great mom” and support to their three children.
He said: “She’s wonderful. When somebody’s the mother of your kids, they’re going to be the most important central person in your life and that’s good.
“I hope I’m a pretty good dad. I certainly try very hard. I’m lucky they got a great mom, and she helps out a great deal with making sure that we co-parent in as good a way as possible.
“Dads are so important to kids, and it’s our responsibility to be there for them — to be present, to be mindful, to be attentive, to be part of their lives, to be as in it as moms.
“That’s really the central preoccupation in my life. The focus of my life is what I love doing. It’s what makes me happy, and the rest of the stuff kind of follows.”

Dr. Christian Jessen: More needs to be done to protect reality stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Dr. Christian Jessen says production companies have a “responsibility” to make sure their stars are “looked after”, following the death of Mike Thalassitis.
The ‘Love Island’ star tragically took his own life earlier this month, and the TV doctor – who is best known for his work on ‘Embarrassing Bodies’ – says more needs to be done to make sure reality stars are properly taken care of when they get thrust into the spotlight.
He said: “Naturally, slightly naive or slightly vulnerable people are going to be selected to go on these types of shows. People have no idea what fame actually means and how fickle it can be and how all consuming it cam be and how it can undermine your self-esteem.
“People see the image portrayed of success and glamour and beautiful people having a lovely time, whereas in reality it is not like that.
“The problem with the shows is that one minute you are up there and the next minute you are literally nobody as a new show has come out.
“One minute everyone loves you and the next they don’t know who the f**k you are, which is a hugely tough thing to deal with. I think TV channels and production companies have a responsibility to make sure people are looked after.”
Christian added that during his time on ‘Embarrassing Bodies’ an “aftercare package” was available to patients which many of them are still using.
He revealed: “When we used to film ‘Embarrassing Bodies’ five or six years ago it had an aftercare package, which is still in place for many of the patients today.
“The likes of ‘Love Island’ have huge budgets, they make tonnes of money, so of course there is money to help make sure people are looked after correctly.
“If you tell a very depressed person that they can always pick up the phone and call they are not going to call you. Blokes in particular don’t do that. If you are depressed you won’t pick up the phone and call as you don’t feel worthy of that.”
And the doctor slammed reality shows for “intending to cause a meltdown” for good ratings, and said it’s “not ethical or responsible”.
Speaking to Daily Star Online, he said: “Producers see more vulnerable people as better for the show as they are more mouldable and will bring more drama. It’s not ethical or responsible even if a person has signed a bit of paper saying they are up for it.
“Producers clearly intend to cause a meltdown, the show is designed for the meltdown, which is not very nice. I suspect with ‘Love Island’ they want the people who will produce more drama.”
Since Mike’s death, ITV – who air ‘Love Island’ – has said more will be done to provide aftercare for the stars of the popular show.

Ben Affleck hints at The Accountant sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Ben Affleck has teased a sequel to ‘The Accountant’ could be on the cards.
The 46-year-old actor portrayed mathematics savant Christian Wolff in the 2016 crime drama, and has revealed he discussed a second movie with director Gavin O’Connor – who he recently reunited with to work on ‘The Has-Been’ – and that Warner Bros. “seemed interested” in another instalment.
Asked if fans can expect a second movie, Affleck told Collider: “Yeah, I hope so. I would love to.
“We’ve talked about kicking some ideas around, this last movie we just did.
“We talked to the studio and they seemed interested, and they kind of brought it up so, we’re looking to do that.
“I think it would be fun. I love Gavin, I love the movie I just did with him.
“I had a great experience and I love the character in ‘The Accountant’. I’d certainly be open to it.”
The movie followed Wolff, an accountant for criminal organisations, who suffers from a high-functioning form of autism, who is slowly uncovered by Dana (Anna Kendrick) and the Treasury Department who are on a mission to uncover his secret.
Speaking previously about working with the Oscar-winner on the movie, O’Connor said: “Here’s what we did. We met a lot of autism specialists and educators. And then we met a lot of guys on the spectrum. And then, just as I started this journey, I was sent a three-hour rough cut of a documentary called ‘Asperger’s Are Us’.
“It’s about four guys on the spectrum who are comedians, who have a comedy troupe. And I laughed so hard and I called Ben and said, ‘Dude, you’ve got to watch this with me.’
“So I went over to his house, and we laughed, and that was liberating. That was my introduction to the humour [that can be found in autism]. I knew I wanted to have that element in the film, and so did Ben, but it needed to be proven, needed to be substantiated. This film did that.”

Lupita Nyong’o’s creepy voice inspiration

OHMYGOSSIP — Lupita Nyong’o studied people with spasmodic dysphonia to create the voice of her ‘Us’ character Red.
The 36-year-old actress plays the antagonistic ‘Tethered’ character – as well as Adelaide, Red’s non-villainous doppelgänger – in Jordan Peele’s new horror movie, and has said she gained inspiration for the character’s haunting voice by studying the neurological disorder that causes involuntary spasms of the larynx.
Lupita – who first discovered spasmodic dysphonia through Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who suffered with the disorder himself – said: “I was fascinated, and I started doing research. I met with people who have the condition and built it from there.”
During her research, Lupita found it’s often “not really understood” why people suffer with the condition, which gave her plenty of scope for her own interpretations.
She added: “It’s not really understood why it happens, or how it happens. It could be a trauma in your life – someone dying, or a physical assault. It varies. For me, it felt very organic as an inspiration for Red, who’s had this kind of strangled past.
“Red’s character is very id-driven, so one of the things that we were looking for was for that to come across in the quality of her voice – just the raw emotion, the raw rage.”
And when director Jordan Peele first heard the “creepy” voice, he knew immediately that it was perfect for the role.
Speaking in a video for Variety, he said: “I [had just] described it as a voice that hadn’t been used in years. She sat me down and said ‘Are you ready?’ It was like nothing I had ever heard. So creepy.”

Jonas Brothers tease new song and music video?

OHMYGOSSIP — The Jonas Brothers appear to be teasing a new song and music video.
The trio – comprised of brothers Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas – recently released their first single in six years, ‘Sucker’, which became their first number one single ever.
The song was accompanied with a promo featuring Nick’s wife Priyanka Chopra and Joe and Kevin’s significant others, Sophie Turner and Danielle Jonas.
Now the ‘Lovebug’ group have shared some snaps from their day of filming in Miami, with a new video and song now hotly-anticipated by their fans.
Nick took to Instagram on Monday (25.03.19) to post a picture of himself rocking a black and white chequered shirt, bright yellow trousers and Vans, and captioned the post: “Shooting something.”
In an Instagram Story with his brother Joe, Nick, 26, joked that his 29-year-old sibling had pinched his look, as they both rocked matching royal blue suits.
In the clip, he said: “Bitch stole my look.”
Kevin, 31, also shared a picture of himself in the same outfit on his profile.
Meanwhile, Nick recently admitted he would love to duet with his ‘Baywatch’ actress spouse.
The ‘Jealous’ singer said he’d be “open to” singing with the 36-year-old star – who he married in December at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India – as she has an “incredible voice” and there’s always a lot of “music and dancing” in their home.
He said: “I’d be open to it, I mean, she’s got an incredible voice and there’s a lot of music in our house and a lot of dancing.
“So, I don’t know. Right now we’re just enjoying the first couple months of married life, and we’ll see where it takes us.”
Speaking about the ‘Sucker’ video, he said: “We have these incredible people in our lives – Kevin and I with our wives and Joe with his fiancée Sophie – and it was really important to us to include them from the beginning. It’s a family affair across the board. It makes everything better knowing that they’re there with us.”

Baptiste creators tease second series

OHMYGOSSIP — The creators of ‘Baptiste’ have hinted at a second series.
Harry and Jack Williams, the brains behind ‘The Missing’ spin-off, have revealed their ideas for another instalment of the popular BBC One show, which stars Tcheky Karyo as the titular detective Julien Baptiste, after the final episode of the first season aired with plenty of twists and cliffhangers on Sunday night (24.03.19).
The creators of the drama also revealed that they have thought about bringing back several characters and have shared their ideas for revisiting Baptiste’s son Niels’ (Boris Van Severen) story, after he killed his mum and was arrested in the dramatic final episode.
Asked if they want to continue his plot, they told Digital Spy: “I think so, yeah. When we first came up with Julien having this illegitimate son, and also the fact that he was capable of this thing, we definitely thought, ‘Yeah, that’s a great end point for the series.’
“But going forward, having Julien have this son who has done these awful things, is a great thing psychologically for him to dig into, because he’s Julien Baptiste. He’s going to want to try and understand that in his own way.”
The pair also admitted that there are “elements that are unexplored” and revealed that they have thought about bringing back several characters in both ‘The Missing’ and ‘Baptiste’.
Harry said: “We’re always keen to keep the world alive, and keep its history alive in the show. But it’s got to be if the story allows it, really.”
Jack would like to see Jason Flemyng – who played Mark Walsh in ‘The Missing’ – return.
He added: “Jason Flemyng! We keep talking about bringing Jason Flemyng back [as Mark Walsh], but that hasn’t happened yet.”
However, one character that won’t be making a comeback is Tom Hollander’s Edward Stratton.
He continued: “I don’t think we’ll be seeing Tom Hollander’s character again, which is a shame, because he’s really good!
“But there are elements, like with Niels, where that’s something that we wish we had explored more.
“Or Genevieve’s (Jessica Raine) character, who we don’t know a lot about.
“There’s definitely elements that are unexplored. And our hope is that ‘Baptiste’ might return.”

Dame Barbara Windsor forgets friends’ names

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Barbara Windsor can no longer remember her friends’ names.
The 81-year-old actress is battling Alzheimer’s – a form of dementia – which has slowly “robbed” her of her memories and her friend Kellie Shirley admitted her former ‘EastEnders’ co-star can’t always recall who she is.
Kellie said: “A massive part of being an actor is remembering things. Your memories are such a big part of who you are. That’s why I feel for Barbara. She remembers so much about the past as clear as day yet she won’t remember my name.”
But the 37-year-old star insisted spending time with Barbara isn’t always “bleak”.
She added to S magazine: “We still have funny moments. It’s not bleak all the time, but it is hardcore. It’s a cruel disease that robs you of your memories.”
Kellie is one of a number of soap stars to team up with the ‘Carry On’ actress’ husband Scott Mitchell to run the London Marathon to raise money in Barbara’s honour and she enjoys her weekly training sessions when she gets to catch up with the couple.
She said: “Any time I’m in town for an audition I’ll meet up with Barbara and Scott for a cup of tea. I’ve always done that. I’m training with Scott so we meet up on a Friday, run together and catch up. I find running so boring so chatting makes the time go faster.”
Scott previously admitted his wife can no longer be left alone but he enjoys the “normal” moments they get to have together.
He said: “Barbara can’t be left alone any more. That’s the reality of it. She has to have constant care.
“She can’t look after herself but then we still sit and have dinner and watch TV and have normal conversations.
“There are also some funny moments where we laugh.
“The sweet side of Barbara has come out in actual fact. So far she hasn’t had that aggression that I know some people do get. That is part of it, that may come, I don’t know. But at the moment she is very sensitive to others.”

Johnny Depp’s lawyer trial delayed

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Depp’s legal battle with his former lawyers has been pushed back in order to give more time to “unwind the tangled affairs” of the actor.
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star was due to face legal firm Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal LaViolette Feldman Schenkman & Goodman – who he is suing for $30 million – in court in May but a Los Angeles judge has now changed the trial date to now begin on September 16 because both parties have been fighting over documents that need to be submitted and there are still outstanding depositions.
The judge warned both sides could have moved quicker and have caused the case to drag on by engaging in “a great deal of finger-pointing concerning whose fault it is”, The Blast revealed.
The company had raised issues over documents and information they claim Johnny had failed to supply, and while the judge ordered the 55-year-old star to give more detailed answers to a number of questions, he denied some of the firm’s demands.
And the judge noted: “This case requires the parties to unwind the tangled affairs of Plaintiff Depp, his various entities, and his lawyers, going back several years.
“Plaintiff’s inclination to incorporate by reference and tell Defendant Firm to, in essence, ‘figure it out,’ is understandable.
“However, the very number of parties and issues present in this case calls for a more meticulous approach. Although shorthand references are easier, they are by necessity less clear.”
The ‘Black Mass’ actor has accused the company of conspiring with his former business managers, The Management Group (TMG), to cheat him out of millions, blaming his lawyers for allegedly failing to alert him to their actions, despite knowing what was going on.
Johnny’s lawyer, Adam Waldman, told The Blast, “Bloom is accused among other things of a failure to supervise the fraudulent activity of the Mandel Brothers/TMG, Mr. Depp’s former business managers who are under multiple federal criminal investigations and whose offices were raided by the FBI in June 2017. Judge Green agreed to move their trial from May to September, and ruled that Bloom is entitled to Mandel’s sealed documents.”
And he also slammed the company for their behaviour during Johnny’s divorce from Amber Heard, who accused her ex-husband of being abusive during their marriage.
He added: “Part of Bloom’s defense is that he did a good job on Mr. Depp’s divorce. But the facts are these: some of Mr. Depp’s legal dream team of five Hollywood lawyers reviewed the entire surveillance video library taken of Ms. Heard, her friends, Elon Musk and others captured by 24 surveillance cameras in the Eastern Columbia Building and the 87 surveillance videos that these lawyers set aside. Then Mr. Depp’s lawyers took sworn declarations from multiple eyewitnesses.
“Some on Mr. Depp’s legal team secretly represented Elon Musk. Some of Mr. Depp’s legal team then hid for nearly three years this exculpatory evidence from Mr. Depp that disproved the malicious hoax perpetrated against him by Amber Heard.”
The firm have denied all allegations of wrongdoing and insisted they never conspired against the ‘Edward Scissorhands’ actor.
They went on to file a countersuit, accusing Johnny of causing his own damages due to his own misconduct and negligence, and filed a countersuit, claiming he hadn’t paid them for months, despite them continuing to work for them.
The actor denied owing any money, claiming he had paid tens of millions over the years and argued the firm are barred from trying to collect unpaid dues because they never signed an official retainer, describing their agreement as “illegal”.

Ronan Keating to move to Australia

OHMYGOSSIP — Ronan Keating wants to “settle down” in Australia.
The Boyzone star previously worked as a judge on ‘X Factor Australia’, and has now said he plans to make a permanent home out of the country, and the city of Sydney in particular, with his wife Storm and their son, 23-month-old Cooper, in the near future.
He said: “I can’t wait to get back … Storm and I just love it. It’s such a special place and so important to us. At some stage in my life I’ll settle down in Sydney for an amount of time.”
The 42-year-old crooner – who is also father to Jack, 20, Missy, 17, and Ali, 13, who he shares with ex-wife Yvonne Connolly – is set to start the Australian leg of Boyzone’s bittersweet final tour in support of their last studio album ‘Thank You & Goodnight’ this week.
And although the lengthy setlist is “a huge commitment” for his vocals, the ‘No Matter What’ hitmaker is determined to “do it right” for the fans.
He added to Australia’s New Idea magazine: “I’m singing 24 songs every night. It’s a huge commitment and it’s a lot of responsibility on my shoulders, but it’s the last time we’re doing it so I want to do it right.”
Meanwhile, Ronan previously admitted he’s “completed” by his wife Storm, whom he married in August 2015 after meeting back in 2011.
He said: “I feel very complete as a man, as a person. I’m very lucky to have found Storm.
“She’s amazing. She’s fantastic, she’s understanding and she’s strong. The kids love her so it’s perfect.”
And Ronan takes great pleasure in seeing how easily Storm has adjusted to motherhood.
He said: “She’s taken to it like a duck to water. She’s been so natural at the whole thing, it’s been a pleasure to watch her as a mum.
“Even though I’ve been there before, we’re learning all the time.
“I’m the worrier, but she’s like an earth mother – she’s so calm, it’s impressive.”

Faye Brookes ‘had no voice’ after Coronation Street tears

OHMYGOSSIP — Faye Brookes cried so much during her latest hard-hitting ‘Coronation Street’ scenes she lost her voice.
The 31-year-old actress’ cobbles character Kate Connor was left devastated last week when her fiancée Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia) tragically died after being crushed by the Underworld factory roof – and Faye was left “actually retching” while forcing up real tears for the tough scenes.
She said: “It was so hard keeping it all secret and when it came to those final scenes I cried real tears. I had no voice the next day.
“At one point I was actually retching because I was crying so much.”
As well as being concerned for her character, Faye is “worried” for fans of her and Bhavna’s alter-egos – who have been affectionately branded Kana by viewers – and insists the pair are “just as sad” as the supporters about the end of the fictional couple.
She added to the Daily Star newspaper: “I am so worried for the Kana fans because I love them. I need them to know that we are just as sad as them to say goodbye to that couple.
“It felt like Bhavna was actually breaking up with me.”
Faye recently admitted the aftermath of Rana’s sad demise has left her sobbing.
She said: “All the aftermath has made me sob. Having to continue life without her and all things I [Kate] wish I could have said and all the things I want to say.
“I’m going to miss that face.”
Bhavna added: “I’m going to miss everyone, it’s quite emotional.”
Faye has also praised her co-star, and admitted she was “really privileged” to be involved in the plot.
She said: “Everyone has so much respect for what Bhavna had to do as well, because she’s kind of playing the victim so it’s all playing around her.
“I just feel really privileged to be a part of this storyline.”

Kym Marsh bed-ridden with suspected salmonella poisoning

OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh was left bed-ridden for four days last week with suspected salmonella poisoning.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress went through a “terrifying ordeal” when she rushed to hospital after feeling like she had been “hit by a truck” and while she is yet to receive the results of her medical tests, doctors have predicted she could be suffering from the “really serious” infection, which is usually caused by eating raw or undercooked meat, poultry or eggs.
She said: “I felt so awful I had to go to the Alexandra Hospital in Manchester. I was shaking, I felt terrible and like I’d been hit by a truck.
“They ran lots of tests on me and I’m still waiting for the results, but doctors think it could be salmonella poisoning, which is really serious. The ordeal has been terrifying and I’ve never felt so ill.
“I was bed-ridden for four days. The whole family rallied around me, David and Emilie had to get Polly up and ready for school because I couldn’t get out of bed.”
While Kym was struggling with illness, her ‘Corrie’ character wasn’t heavily involved in last week’s hard-hitting soap scenes, in which Bhavna Limbachia’s character Rana Habeeb died on her wedding day to Kate Connor (Faye Brookes).
But the ending of Wednesday’s (20.03.19) dramatic double episode was spoiled for some viewers last week when Faye’s fiance, singer Gareth Gates, let slip on social media that Rana was going to die 10 minutes before the end of the episode.
Writing in her OK! magazine column, Kym added: “I feel sorry for him because he was just excited to praise Faye’s performance, although I understand this upset fans who were watching.
“We’ve all had slip-ups on social media though, it’s easily done.”
Gareth wrote on Instagram: “So proud of my lady @faye_brookes in @coronationstreet – such amazing TRUE acting. Sad to lose the beautiful and incredibly talented @bhavnalimbachia (sic)”

Mike Thalassitis’s parents close Go Fund Me page

OHMYGOSSIP — Mike Thalassitis’s parents have closed a Go Fund Me page set up to raise money for his funeral.
The ‘Love Island’ star took his own life earlier this month and although the website raised £5,000 of the £25,000 target in just one day, his family have asked for the account to be closed amid concerns fraudsters could set up pages to fool fans into handing over their cash.
A message on the page – which was set up by “close friends” – read: “Thank you all for your generous donations thus far. I have spoken with Mike’s family and while they are grateful for all of the support his friends have given, they have asked to close the gofundme at this time.
“Please be assured the money raised to date will go directly to the family who intend to open a new page controlled by themselves in due course. All proceeds will then be consolidated and donated to a mental health charity of their choice.
“While this particular page was created by his close friends, they are concerned that fraudulent accounts could be activated by strangers using their name.
“Therefore, please do not donate to any other pages until an official statement has been made by the immediate Thalassitis family within the next week or so.”
The page had been shared by ‘Love Island’s Jack Fowler and ‘Celebs Go Dating’ star Tallia Storm on their own social media accounts.
Tallia wrote: “Please help to raise money for Mike’s family to help pay for his funeral any amount helps they shouldn’t have to face this alone.”
When the page was first set up, it pledged to use the money to cover the costs of Mike’s funeral and donate anything left over to a mental health charity.
It read: Mike Thalassitis was a beloved son, brother, friend and good man to many people.
“As everybody is aware we all lost a brilliant person on March 16th.
“I’m sure that everyone here and all those that were fortunate enough to know Mike wishes that they had done or said something that could have changed this outcome and have helped him in so that this terrible tragedy did not befall Mike and everybody that cared for him.
“Mike’s family were doing everything possible to come to terms with the death of Andy’s mum (Mike’s Nan) before their youngest son was taken within days of each other. Mike’s family are hard working people experiencing a time of intense pain and suffering. “Accordingly we are asking for all of your help so that they do not have to face anything alone.
“So we have created this as a collection so all of those who want to contribute can. We will give all donations raised to Mike’s mum and dad to help fund his funeral costs and the rest given to a mental health charity of their choice.”

Tessa Peake-Jones backs Only Fools and Horses tower block demolition

OHMYGOSSIP — Tessa Peake-Jones has backed plans to demolish a tower block used as the setting for ‘Only Fools and Horses’.
The 61-year-old actress – who played Raquel Trotter on the classic sitcom – thinks it is a “great” plan to knock down Harlech Tower in West London, which was used as the exterior for the Trotter family’s home Nelson Mandela House, to make way for 2,500 new homes, half of which will be social housing, because there are so few “affordable” properties around.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “If it’s that the flats are really old and haven’t been cared for then I’d say it’s just as well they are being knocked down.
“As long as they are building new flats with affordable housing, then I think that’s great.
“If it had been another shop then of course that wouldn’t have been good. But we need all the affordable housing that we can get.”
Her comments came after David Jason – who played her husband Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter – called to have the building preserved for posterity.
He said last month: “Of course I think it should be a listed building. What a shame. But they are not going to listen to me are they?”
And John Challis – who played Aubrey ‘Boycie’ Boyce on the classic British sitcom – has backed a campaign by TV channel Gold to erect a Del Boy statue outside the building
He said: “The towers carry a lot of nostalgia for many of us – not just the cast, but everyone who has enjoyed watching the show over the years.
“While we don’t want to stand in the way of any progress being made, we do want to commemorate the towers’ long-standing connection to ‘Only Fools and Horses’ and its British comedy legacy.”
Along with the petition – which needs a total of 1,500 signatures to be submitted to Ealing Council for consideration – Gold has also unveiled initial designs to drum up support.
The popular comedy aired for seven series between 1981 and 1991, while fans were also treated to several Christmas specials until the show’s end in 2003.

Kelly Clarkson ‘astounded’ by fans who know all her songs

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Clarkson still finds it “astounding” when audiences sing her lyrics back to her on stage.
The 36-year-old singer is currently on tour in the US in support of her 2017 album ‘Meaning of Life’, and has said she still can’t believe it when her fans know all the words to her songs.
She said: “I’ve just been blessed with a lot of songs that people know, so even when we’re doing the new stuff, it’s astounding at how everyone’s singing the lyrics.”
And the ‘Because of You’ singer is trying to do more for “women in music” through her tour, especially when she performs 2003 hit ‘Miss Independent’ with her opening acts Brynn Cartelli and Kelsea Ballerini.
She added: “It’s amazing, especially for women in music. I think a lot of times, females especially, feel threatened. Instead of feeling threatened, why don’t you just be confident in your skin and your talent, and just join us?”
Kelly’s favourite part of her show, though, is a special element which changes each night.
In a bid to reach as many fans as possible, Kelly goes live on Facebook during each show and gets her fans to pick a song for her to cover, which she then plays to everyone watching in the venue and at home.
Speaking to The Tennessean ahead of her March 29 show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, she said: “I’m trying my best to reach everyone, but I’m also a mother of four, and I have a lot of jobs. I’ve read enough self-help books to know you’ve gotta look out for yourself as well. I tried to do it in a way where I felt like I could connect [with them] until I can get to those places.”
