Rose Byrne: Social media puts pressure on parents

OHMYGOSSIP — Rose Byrne thinks social media puts pressure on people to have children.
The 39-year-old actress – who has Rocco, two, and Rafa, 12 months, with husband Bobby Cannavale – has hit out at the Internet for placing “so much aspiration around motherhood”, as she thinks it forces people to believe they have to have children in order to succeed.
She said: “There is so much aspiration around motherhood and fatherhood and families, particularly around social media.”
Rose stars in new movie ‘Instant Families’ with Mark Wahlberg in which she shows the downside of fostering three children, and says the film is important because it shows people that it’s “okay” to feel “uncomfortable”.
Speaking to Sunday Life magazine, she said: “Presenting these sorts of ideas is what life is like in reality. I felt so exposed. Then I realised that’s what it’s supposed to feel like, I am supposed to feel uncomfortable and that’s OK.”
Meanwhile, the ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ star recently said her eldest son Rocco went through “trauma” after being introduced to his newborn baby brother.
She said: “There was a bit of an adjustment at first, Rocco didn’t quite get having the brother. He would sort of wake up in the morning and go, ‘no Rafa, no Rafa’. It’s quite a trauma on them the first few months. But it’s good, it toughens them up, right?”
Rose admits her home is more “hectic” now there’s a new addition to the family, and says it’s Rafa who causes the most fights between the two siblings, as she and Bobby are always telling the tot to “take it easy”.
She added: “It’s pretty hectic. It’s funny, the little guy is a lot more aggressive than the big guy. He just goes in for the tackle and loves to pin him down. [Rocco is very patient], he’s kind of like ‘Oh get away from me’. And we’re like ‘Rafa take it easy! Take it easy!'”

Ashley Judd: There’s hope for sexual abuse victims

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Judd says there’s “hope” for women who have been victims of “sexual abuse”.
The 50-year-old actress accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment last year and has been spearheading the movements to end sexual misconduct ever since, and she has now reassured victims their life isn’t over, because they can “heal” and grow stronger.
In a message on Twitter, the ‘Heat’ actress said: “There is hope for women who have been sexually abused. We have the opportunity to heal and take responsibility of our healing. It is a long journey to get to a particular place of healing – and it is okay. You have survived.”
Earlier this year, Ashley filed a defamation lawsuit against Weinstein after claiming he prevented her from getting a role in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ because she had rejected his sexual advances.
Weinstein, 66, then filed to have the case thrown out of court, as he claimed Ashley had “filed this action 20 years too late” as the alleged incident happened in 1998.
But the ‘Divergent’ star hit back, branding his filing as “offensive”.
Her team said in a statement: “Mr. Weinstein’s arguments seeking to escape the consequences of his despicable misconduct are not only baseless, they are offensive.
“We look forward to opposing his flawed motion, moving forward with discovery into his outrageous behavior, and proving to a jury that Mr. Weinstein maliciously damaged Ms. Judd’s career because she resisted his sexual advances.”
Meanwhile, in May this year, Ashley said she was confident people will “heal” after the #MeToo movement.
She said: “We can heal. That has been my experience. We may not, admittedly, know how to, or even from what we need to heal … We may not even think we need to heal, that maybe we’ve just had some c****y relationships. Whatever trauma looks like in our lives, feelings can be healed … [We are] ultimately responsible, respondable to our own lives. This may sound harsh, but it means we have autonomy, we are powerful, and we have agency.”

Ozzy Osbourne shuns working with Tony Iommi

OHMYGOSSIP — Ozzy Osbourne doesn’t like working with Tony Iommi.
The ‘Paranoid’ rock star headed out with his former band Black Sabbath for their final tour across 2016 and 2017, and whilst he previously spoke about not enjoying the shows, he has now specifically hit out at the band’s guitarist Tony, likening their reunion to meeting up with an ex-girlfriend after 30 years.
He said: “Do I like working with him? Not really. Do I like him as a person? Yeah, I love him as a person.
“I’ve moved on. I’ll tell you what it was like. It’s like when you’re younger and you met a girl, Susie, and you break up and you don’t see her for 30 years. Then she’s in town and you go, ‘Oh, I’ll give Susie a call,’ because your memory only remembers the good parts and you can narrow it then to a week and you go, ‘I remember that week and it was lovely.’
“But then you go back and you go, ‘I forgot the f***ing four and three-quarter years I was f***ing miserable.'”
But Ozzy, 69, does admit Black Sabbath wouldn’t be the group they are without Tony’s legendary guitar riffs.
Speaking to The Times, he added: “But if people was to say to me, ‘Was there a leader of Black Sabbath?’ I’d have to say it was Tony Iommi because without his guitar riffs we’d be still sitting in f***ing rehearsal with our thumbs up our arses going, ‘What do we do now?'”
His comments come after he previously claimed Tony’s control over Black Sabbath meant he didn’t get the same joy out of performing that he does with his solo act.
The ‘War Pigs’ hitmaker said: “With Sabbath, all I am is a singer with a band. This is a different thing. I’ve got a lot of freedom and I have fun with it… It’s not allowed to have f***ing fun with Sabbath.
“It’s too serious. Tony was trying to have a go at me, saying, ‘Don’t f***ing talk over my solos.’
“I go, ‘OK, are you sure? ‘Cause most of the f***ing song is solos. The intro to the song is f***in’ five minutes and then I sing for about two seconds and then it’s another one.’ ”

Noel Edmonds’ secret I’m A Celeb code

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Edmonds has a “secret code” to speak to his wife whilst on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 69-year-old television presenter headed into the Australian jungle this week to join the ITV celebrity survival show, and although he’s not allowed to communicate with his loved ones back home directly, he has reportedly devised a cunning code to send messages to his wife Liz.
A source said: “Noel said he was going to send out messages to Liz, telling her he loves her and how he’s doing. He has a secret code for that. But he didn’t explain to anyone else how he would do that.”
The ‘Deal or No Deal’ star – who married make-up artist Liz in 2009 – wants to use his time in the jungle to “redeem himself in the eyes of the public”.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “He believes this is a massive chance for him.
“Noel believes he will bring a load of positive energy and light into the camp – and will be like a spiritual guru and father figure to the other contestants.
“He also thinks he will have the opportunity to redeem himself in the eyes of the public.”
Meanwhile, Noel previously joked he would quit TV for good if the public vote him as King of the Jungle.
He said: “After everything I have done with Gotchas and gunging, I am well aware they are going to put me through absolute hell and I deserve it! I think the British public will enjoy seeing me finally getting my comeuppance! I just know they are going to really give me a hard time …
“I am going to win because I promise the British public if they vote for me, I will retire from television and I will never appear again. There’s a deal that I am striking with the great British public who have supported me over the years – they make me ‘King of the Jungle’ and I will retire and never appear again!”

Emily Atack told to lose weight for TV roles

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack has been told to “lose weight” to gain certain TV roles.
The 28-year-old actress is most known playing Charlotte Hinchcliffe in ‘The Inbetweeners’ and is currently appearing on ITV reality show ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’, but has said she’s been to auditions in the past where she’s been asked to “go to the gym” in order to change her body.
She said: “There have been auditions where they’ve said nicely, ‘Would you be willing to go to the gym for this role?’, I find it so hard to lose weight, it takes me weeks and weeks of dieting and training just to lose three pounds.”
Emily is constantly on camera whilst in the Australian jungle, and says learning to be comfortable with her body is something she’s always believed in.
She added: “I’m on camera all the time so being body confident is important. I’m a believer in feeling good in your skin so I put bikini pics on my Instagram.
“I definitely feel the pressure to lose weight and be smaller than I am. I wouldn’t leave the house without my make-up on.”
The actress believes she’d be happy with how she looks in “a normal world”, but the pressure of the film industry makes her concerned about her weight.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column before heading into the jungle, she said: “In a normal world I would be happy with my body, but in the film industry it’s pressurised. I would like to see curvier women playing lead roles, I got a lot of sexy roles when I was younger.
“My issue is that I love eating and I love wine. Going out for dinner and drinking wine with my friends is my favourite thing to do.
“There are some weeks that I think, ‘I should lay off the wine this week because I’ve got a film premiere’. Ultimately I will never cut anything out of my life that makes me happy.”

Jude Law had a Harry Potter marathon

OHMYGOSSIP — Jude Law used his role in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ as an excuse to enjoy a ‘Harry Potter’ marathon.
The 45-year-old actor portrays the younger Albus Dumbledore in J.K. Rowling’s latest wizarding adventure and though he’d been reassured he didn’t need to follow the late Richard Harris and Michael Gambon – who portrayed the Hogwarts headmaster in the original movie series – in his take on the iconic character, he used “research” as a way to binge on all eight films.
Speaking to the latest issue of SFX magazine, he said: “I did [watch Gambon and Harris] but I was freed up immediately by Jo Rowling and David Yates who said, ‘Come on, there are 80-odd years between them. You’re not him yet.’ There are little things I wanted to pick up on that Harris and Gambon did, but it was just an excuse to go back and get into the world.
“‘What am I doing this weekend? I’m going to watch all of the Harry Potter films and pretend I’m taking notes.’ ”
While Jude admitted his movie alter ego is “complicated”, he particularly enjoyed showing his “mischievous” side.
He said: “I think Dumbledore feels somewhat isolated and that in order to progress and do the right thing, he’s going to have to face up to the demons he’s carried and actions he’s taken in the past. He is also in a situation where he relies on others to believe in his causes and act for him. So that leaves, in its wake, rather a lot of … I suppose guilt, in a way. He’s complicated. But you know, unmistakably, as is mentioned in all the books, he has this sparkly and mischievous quality, which is such a lovely thing to be able to sprinkle in.”

Noel Edmonds turned down Strictly Come Dancing because of curse fears

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Edmonds was asked to do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – but was concerned about the “Strictly curse”.
The 69-year-old television presenter is to be a late addition to the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ camp this week, but he has admitted the ITV reality show isn’t the first he’s been asked to do, as he was previously offered a place on BBC dance competition ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Noel’s wife Elizabeth Davies is a “fully-trained dancer” and had originally planned to secretly teach the ‘Deal or No Deal’ host how to dance, but the pair gave up on the idea when they realised spending time with another professional dancer could put their marriage on the rocks.
He said: “I have been asked to do Strictly. Liz is a fully-trained singer and dancer and a couple of years ago she said, ‘Why don’t we cheat? Why don’t we say you’re a novice and I’ll teach you before’.
“Then I think there was one of those curse moments and I said to her, ‘Are you comfortable with me spending five or six days a week with a half-naked woman draped all over me?’ And it’s funny how the conversation just changed.
“We’ve got something very, very special.”
The ‘Noel’s House Party’ star doesn’t think he’d make a good dancer anyway, regardless of his wife’s expert training.
He added: “I would be a cross between Ann Widdecombe and John Sergeant. But in my head I’m Fred Astaire. I don’t know why, nothing works – it’s hopeless, so I’d never do it.”
And whilst Noel might not need to learn how to dance, he has been training for his stint in the jungle, admitting he’s been eating critters from his garden in order to prepare his stomach for the Bushtucker trials.
Speaking to The Sun’s Bizarre TV Column, he said: “There are now no worms in our garden. [They taste like] exactly what you’d expect.”

Jason Derulo to make acting debut in Cats

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Derulo has joined the cast of ‘Cats’.
The 29-year-old musician will make his feature film acting debut in the upcoming big screen adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s beloved musical, which is based on T.S. Eliot’s ‘Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats’ poetry collection.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ‘Talk Dirty’ hitmaker will take on the role of rebellious feline Rum Tum Tugger.
Jason confirmed the news on Twitter on Tuesday (20.11.18) night, when he shared the link to the publication’s story and wrote: “Its official! Your boys a workin actor (sic)”
The singer will be joining the recently announced Rebel Wilson – who is playing the role of the lazy old Gumbie feline Jennyanydots – in the production, alongside the legendary Sir Ian McKellen (Gus the Theatre Cat) and Dame Judi Dench in the all-star cast.
Dench – who was due play Grizabella in the original West End production in 1981, until she was forced to withdraw through injury – takes on the role of Old Deuteronomy, whilst Idris Elba looks set to play villain feline Macavity, who uses his minions to try and capture Deuteronomy in the musical.
Jennifer Hudson, James Corden and Taylor Swift are also set to appear in the motion picture, which will be produced by Hooper, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Debra Hayward, while Steven Spielberg will be one of the executive producers of the project.
The story follows a tribe of cats called the Jellicles as they make what is known as “the Jellicle choice”, in which they decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.
Meanwhile, ‘Lord of the Rings’ star Ian McKellen recently admitted he wants to find his “inner pussy” for his role in ‘Cats’.
He cheekily quipped: “I’m looking for the inner pussy – the ‘moggyiness’ that’s within us all …
“I’ve always wanted to be in a musical on stage so rather late in the day this is like a dream come true.”

Lady Gaga applauds Bradley Cooper’s ‘magic’ A Star Is Born work

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga says Bradley Cooper directing and acting in ‘A Star Is Born’ was like a “magic trick”.
The ‘Born This Way’ singer, who portrays Jackson Maine’s (Cooper) love interest Ally in the remake of the 1937 classic, has compared her co-star to the famous illusionist Harry Houdini for being able to take on two major roles so well.
She told Vanity Fair: “It was like a magic trick for us. . . . Really, he was like Houdini.”
The 32-year-old star found it fascinating that while the pair were acting out an “extremely emotional” and “awful conversation”, Cooper was still able to “comfort” her as he directed simultaneously.
She said: “We’re having this extremely emotional, awful conversation with each other and – at the same time – you have to completely trust your director.
In a moment where I’m almost untrusting of him and angry with him and insulted by him, I’m also, in the back of my mind, in the space of comfort, in the space of love.”
The scene is where Ally tackles the fading musician’s alcohol abuse and addiction issues, and Gaga admitted it was very moving as it’s something that she has experienced in her own life.
She said: “What was very special about that scene, for me anyways, was the themes of alcoholism and the theme of codependency and addiction – that is something that has affected me in my life.
“To share that with him was very, very special to me.
“He really honoured that. It’s an interesting thing to feel afraid and yet unafraid at the same time.
“I felt that way the whole time we filmed.
“That is a very heavy scene, but I will say that sense of vulnerability I felt this entire time we were filming, it was that exact thing – fear, but no fear.”

Shania Twain wants Celine Dion collaboration

OHMYGOSSIP — Shania Twain wants to pen a track for Celine Dion.
The 53-year-old singing legend has said she’d love to join forces with the iconic ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker, as she said it has been her “dream” to write a song for Celine because she thinks her voice is “extraordinary”.
Shania said: “One of my dreams has always been that she would record one of my songs. So yeah, I’d love her to sing one of my songs. I’m going to write one for her! I love her, she’s extraordinary.
“I could write the song, she could sing it.”
The ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman!’ hitmaker is all about creating change in the music industry and alongside her plans to pen a track for Celine, she’s also launching a new singing competition series called ‘Real Country’, which she hopes will allow the country genre to look and sound different.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, Shania – who serves as executive producer and panelist on the show – said: “I love the difference in the fact that it is genre specific, it’s about country, we’ve got so many great artists out there that need to be discovered.
“We need to make room for them, especially for diversity. We need to make room for diversity. We need more women, stylistically, we have to take advantage of all the different styles that fall under country music. So this is my passion, ‘Real Country’.”
But the music icon will be hoping she stays dry whilst on the show, as she recently admitted to having peed herself on stage.
She said: “I was very clever in this one moment. I stood up from my chair to get up and sing. I peed myself, and the puddle, I just knocked my glass of water over.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Perry has cancelled his solo tour after collapsing on stage.
The 68-year-old guitarist was taken into hospital after he experienced breathing difficulties earlier this month, whilst on stage at Madison Square Garden in New York City, but Joe has since left the medical facility where he was receiving treatment and is now at home resting up.
Unfortunately for fans though, the veteran rocker has been forced to postpone his planned performances, which were due to kick off on November 30, until 2019.
Joe wrote on Instagram: “Just wanted to thank everyone for all of the kind messages I’ve received this week. I’m home and doing well, but the doctor recommends a bit more downtime before getting out to rock again, so regrettably I had to cancel my upcoming tour dates.
“Was really looking forward to playing these shows with Brad and Gary and seeing all of you who were planning to come out and support us. We will be back out as soon as possible. Wishing you all happy holidays and looking forward to seeing you in 2019. (sic)”
The Aerosmith star previously took to Twitter to update his fans on his progress, writing: “Doing well, thanks for all the love and support!”
It was previously reported that Joe collapsed backstage at Madison Square Garden before he was taken into hospital.
And Joe’s rep subsequently released a statement confirming he was at a hospital in New York.
A statement read: “Following a guest performance during Billy Joel’s show last night at Madison Square Garden, Joe Perry experienced shortness of breath and was treated backstage by paramedics who gave the guitarist oxygen and used a tracheal tube to clear his airway before taking him to a hospital.
“This morning Perry remains in the hospital where he is alert and responsive.”

Joel Dommett misses Extra Camp after injuring head in rehearsals

OHMYGOSSIP — Joel Dommett was forced to miss last night’s (20.11.18) ‘I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp’ after suffering an injury on set.
The 32-year-old presenter of the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ companion show was badly knocked by a sign as severe winds played havoc in Australia during rehearsals, and was subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital where he received seven stitches in his head.
However, Joel – who came second in the 2016 series of the Australian jungle reality show – still had his sense of humour intact as he joked about having a “half day” and watched his colleagues Scarlett Moffatt – who beat Joel to be crowned Queen of the Jungle two years ago – and presenter Joe Swash from the comfort of his hotel room.
Joel reassured his followers and viewers that he will be returning to the show on Wednesday night (21.11.18).
Alongside a picture of himself getting fixed up in the medical room and a selfie taken afterwards, he wrote on instagram: “Unfortunately due to unforeseen windy circumstances blowing the set onto my head during rehearsals, I won’t be able to present Extra Camp this evening. I had seven stitches like a big brave boy and I’ll be back tomorrow. To be honest I’m less worried about my health and more worried that the show will be better without me. Half a day off school to go home and watch neighbours! Woo! GOOD LUCK @scarlettmoffatt and @realjoeswashy (sic)”
‘I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp’ – which delivers all the gossip from inside the jungle – is aired directly after the main show every night from 10.00pm on ITV2.

‘The Ritz’ will explore the life and work of the 400 members of staff, as well as guests at the hotel when it airs early next year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “On the surface it’s a simply jaw-dropping hotel which is legendary the world over.
“But behind the scenes, it’s a hotbed of trials, divas and daily toil for the Ritz team, who all work hard to ensure they maintain its global reputation.

‘Strange’ star Nicole Kidman

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman likes working with eccentric directors because she is a bit “strange”.
The 51-year-old Oscar winner enjoys making movies with filmmakers who challenge her and she admits Lars von Trier was probably the most unusual director she has collaborated with because everything he did was unconventional, including the way he even entered rooms.
In an interview with Variety, Kidman – who made 2003’s revenge tragedy ‘Dogville’ with the Danish artist – said: “I’m strange. So what other people go is totally strange, I don’t find strange. I was sitting there, and Lars was literally at the window of the hotel, outside. And then he’s climbing in. That’s sort of weird. And then driving around in his camper van, because he doesn’t fly. Or hiking in the forest in the dead of winter in the snow, and that’s rehearsal.”
Kidman has starred in a variety of different genres of movies such as war drama ‘Cold Mountain’, murderous thriller ‘Dead Calm’, musical extravaganza ‘Moulin Rouge! and very soon superhero blockbuster as she plays Queen Atlanna in the upcoming DC Extended Universe blockbuster ‘Aquaman’.
The Australian actress – who can currently be seen as the Baptist mother of a teenage boy who is forced into gay conversion therapy in ‘Boy Erased’ – has always prided herself on never following a rule book when it comes to the roles she tales on.
She explained: “Could you ever plan this? This is a completely free-fall career. I think there’s only a handful of actors that can choose their whole career, every job. If you’re in it for the long run, you want to work and you want to act and you want to connect and tell stories. That’s going to lead you on many different paths. That’s how I’ve approached it. Now that I’m older, time is more precious. There isn’t an endless amount of time.”

Great British Bake Off brands BBC bullies

OHMYGOSSIP — The creator of ‘The Great British Bake Off’ claims the show “would have died” if it hadn’t moved to Channel 4.
The popular baking contest spent seven years on the BBC before changing broadcasters in 2006 and Richard McKerrow has accused network executives of “bullying” production company Love Productions.
Speaking at Leeds Trinity University, he said: “I say we simply did it to protect the format. We took it to the one place which would protect the format, Channel 4, which is another public service broadcaster.
“It kept it free to air and I trusted them and knew they would look after it.”
Richard claims his relationship with the BBC started to “deteriorate” due to tension over the broadcaster’s in-house shows ‘Hair’ and ‘The Big Painting Challenge’ because Love Productions felt they were similar to the ‘GBBO’ format and hit out at the “arrogance” of the network.
He said of the 2015 series: “By now we had security and god knows what else yet we were paid three quarters of the amount we got for the first series. ‘I think that unfortunately broadcasters bully independent producers and the BBC is the biggest bully of all and I don’t think that is healthy for the industry. I felt bullied.
“There’s an arrogance that the BBC has that is not good for the industry.”
He also felt his relationship with judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry and hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins was “undermined” by the BBC.
He added: “It was increasingly dysfunctional.”
When the programme moved to Channel 4, only Paul opted too stay on and though Richard admitted it was “difficult”, he and his team knew the true “talents” on the show are the contestants.
He said: “We would have liked all of the talent to come with us. It was very difficult. But we also knew in our heart what we say about the show, love the bakers, love the baking. They are the talent which isn’t to say Paul Hollywood, Mary Berry and Prue Leith aren’t brilliant and fantastic at what they do.”
And the producer enlisted his eight-year-old daughter to help choose Mary’s replacement, and was surprised when she chose Prue Leith.
He said: “I thought she was going to choose the young blonde judge but she said she was trying too hard, ‘but Prue Leith is really good, she sounds like she knows what she is talking about.’ ”
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ is now hosted by Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig.
