Jamie Dornan wants his kids to have Irish accents

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Dornan is desperate for his kids to have Irish accents.
The 36-year-old actor is fiercely proud of his Belfast roots and though he and his pregnant wife Amelia Warner are settled in England with their daughters, Dulcie, four, and two-year-old Elva, the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ star would still love to return home one day.
Speaking to the Radio Times, he said: “I feel so privileged to have grown up there. It means a lot to me.
“First and foremost, I call myself Northern Irish I feel pride even saying that now.
“It’s a beautiful place. There’s maybe a world where I’d move back, but I live in the Cotswolds now and my wife and kids are English.
“I like to tell my kids they’re Irish a lot and keep hoping they’ll say the odd word in my accent but they haven’t yet. They’ve started school now and that’s where we’re seemingly setting up our life.”
While Jamie likes going home to Belfast, he admitted the fans he sees there can be overzealous, so he’s learned to avoid particular bars.
He said: “Belfast is brilliant now. It’s got amazing places to eat, the bars have always been brilliant, the people have always been brilliant.
“There are a few places I would avoid a little bit now because I’m probably more recognised at home than anywhere else in the world and sometimes it’s… People with a few drinks in them can be a bit ‘hands on’.
“You’re in a headlock before you know it. I mean, it’s the most loving headlock you can imagine, but sometimes you’re not up for that when all you want is a quiet drink with your mates.”

Rita Ora’s ‘really low’ years

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora has been feeling “really low” over the past few years.
The 27-year-old singer has admitted she didn’t know if she would ever be able to release her second album ‘Phoenix’ – which she dropped this week – after suffering a “long moment” in her life when she felt as though “everything was over”.
Speaking to the crowd at her album launch show at the Notting Hill Arts Club on Saturday (24.11.18), she said: “I did have a long moment in my life for the past few years where I didn’t know if it was possible to put out another album and I was really scared. I thought ‘oh my god shall I just give up and wrap it up’?
“Then I remembered something… I was like ‘I don’t know what else I can do.’ I remember feeling really low and feeling that everything was over.”
The ‘Let You Love Me’ hitmaker struggled to hold back tears as she told the audience she was just “happy to be” at the venue celebrating her album.
She added: “I have been through so much s**t to put this album out.
“I have to tell you that I’m just happy to be here.
“No matter if it was 20 people or five people. It’s literally a dream come true.”

Her comments come after she recently admitted she has trouble sleeping.
She said: “How do I sleep on the spot? Like, when you know you have two hours in the day to have a nap but your brain is going 100 miles an hour. How do you disconnect and have a nap? That’s what I want to know.”
Rita also struggles to deal with hangovers, and so the ‘Girls’ singer has learned not to “mix work with pleasure”.

Peter Andre feels younger after quitting drink

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Andre feels “young” after giving up alcohol.
The 45-year-old singer – who has Junior, 13, and Princess, 11, with ex-wife Katie Price and Amelia, four, and two-year-old Theo with spouse Emily – insists he doesn’t “want or need” to drink to have a good time and he feels much better without it.
He told Closer magazine: “I haven’t drunk alcohol for some years now. It’s just not for me, I don’t like it.
“Without it, I feel good and I feel young. I don’t want or need it.”
And the ‘Mysterious Girl’ hitmaker loves nothing more than a quiet night in with his wife.
He said: “Mine and Emily’s favourite thing to do is to chill when the kids have gone to bed.
“There can’t be bigger couch potatoes than us – that’s my perfect night.
“Loads of chocolate and a cup of tea – perfect.”
Despite a large household, Peter insists things are usually “calm and chilled” in their home.
He said: “We’ve got a really cool, calm, chilled vibe in our home.
“We all do our own thing but always come together in the evenings for dinner and TV.
“Junior’s a great older brother to the younger two, while Princess and Millie have an adorable sisterly bond – and little Theo is becoming a real superstar.
“Theo’s really gentle and kind, just like Millie. They both have the kindness and calmness that Emily has.”
And the ‘Behind Closed Doors’ hitmaker hailed his doctor wife as “Wonder Woman”.
He gushed: “Emily is just an incredible person. She’s got such an amazing job and still manages to be an amazing mum – I’m so proud of her.
“She’s Wonder Woman. The kids were watching ‘Mary Poppins’ and they were like, ‘She’s just like you!’ It was her politeness, her mannerisms and her being such a homebody.”

David and Victoria Beckham’s home targeted by thieves again

OHMYGOSSIP — David and Victoria Beckham’s home has been targeted by burglars for the second time in a month.
In October, police were called to the 43-year-old retired soccer star and 44-year-old fashion designer’s £6 million pad in Great Tew, Oxfordshire, after three balaclava-wearing intruders were caught on CCTV outside the lavish property.
And it has now been revealed that on November 14, almost four weeks after the initial break-in attempt, security guards and attack dogs were forced to chase another set of intruders away from the property.
Neither of the pair or their four children – Brooklyn, 19, Romeo,16, Cruz, 13, and Harper, seven – were at their home at the time
A local source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “This now feels like a sustained attempt to target the house when they’re away.
“The family split their time between the idyllic rural retreat and a central London home. Luckily they had laid on extra security after the last incident – including several staff and dogs – who were able to protect the property.
“Otherwise this could have had a very different outcome. They are re-evaluating their security again and will bring in more if they need to.”
Both of the burglary attempts are thought to have been carried out by the same people, and although police weren’t called to the scene in the latest attempt, they have been “made aware” of the situation.
Thames Valley Police said: “We were called at around 6.15am on Wednesday 14th following reports of a man behaving suspiciously near a property. The Neighbourhood Policing Team has been made aware.”
During the first break-in attempt in October, the perpetrators allegedly placed a ladder up against the wall in a bid to have a view of any expensive items on display in the home.
The trio didn’t go inside the home – which the couple often visit to take time out from their hectic work schedules – and nothing was stolen, however, the incident shook up the couple who were left “devastated” by the news.

Diddy gives 18 minute eulogy for Kim Porter

OHMYGOSSIP — Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs says Kim Porter’s love was “too much” for him to “handle”, as he delivered a eulogy at her funeral on Saturday (24.11.18).
The 49-year-old hip-hop mogul spoke for almost 18 minutes during his ex-girlfriend’s funeral this weekend, which came after her sudden death on November 15, and praised his late love as his “guidance” and “confidante”.
In his speech – which The Blast reports was unprepared, with Diddy instead choosing to speak from the heart – he said: “I would come into the office every day, and she worked at the front desk, and I would be so excited to come up in the elevator. To know that I was going to see her.
“She was my friend first. She was my confidante. She was like my guidance, still is. I was just open … We fell in love and honestly, her love was too much for me to handle. It was a lot to handle, to take in.
“We didn’t really plan for this. I definitely thought I was going to go first. God didn’t have it be that way.”
The ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ hitmaker also spoke of a time earlier this year when Kim had helped him out of a “dark time”.
He added: “From the top of the year, I was going through a real dark time. I was really depressed. And I don’t know why, maybe it was cause I was getting older. I just went through a dark, dark time. And she would come over and make sure … even though we weren’t together … She was just like, ‘Come on, Puff. You gotta get up. You gotta get up out the bed. You gotta get moving. You gotta get up.'”
Diddy then addressed his children – Christian, 20, and 11-year-old twins Jessie and D’Lila, whom he has with the late model, as well as 24-year-old Justin, whom he has with Misa Hylton Brim, and 12-year-old Chance, whose mother is Sarah Chapman – as he encouraged them to talk to him “about everything”.
He said: “I just want to say, to my kids – Justin, Christian, Delilah, Jessie, Chance, and the other man of the house, Quincy – your mother instilled in me this, that I pledge in front of everybody right now, that I will always be there for y’all. I will always take care of you. To the girls especially, we’re about to enter into some different type of times. I want y’all to be able to talk to me about everything, and I mean everything.”
The rapper closed his eulogy by speaking directly to Kim – whom he dated on and off for 13 years – and claiming her voice would never “stop talking” inside of him.
He said: “I want to thank each and every one of you in here today because she loved y’all. If you in here, she loved you, she touched you, you cared enough to come. And I just want to tell y’all thank you so much.
“And Kim, we gonna miss you so much. I’m not gonna miss you too much because I’m not going to let your voice inside of me stop talking. I know you like to talk to me when you get on those rants and I just want to let you know, I’ll be listening … We love you, Kim. Thank you.”

Rose Byrne: Social media puts pressure on parents

OHMYGOSSIP — Rose Byrne thinks social media puts pressure on people to have children.
The 39-year-old actress – who has Rocco, two, and Rafa, 12 months, with husband Bobby Cannavale – has hit out at the Internet for placing “so much aspiration around motherhood”, as she thinks it forces people to believe they have to have children in order to succeed.
She said: “There is so much aspiration around motherhood and fatherhood and families, particularly around social media.”
Rose stars in new movie ‘Instant Families’ with Mark Wahlberg in which she shows the downside of fostering three children, and says the film is important because it shows people that it’s “okay” to feel “uncomfortable”.
Speaking to Sunday Life magazine, she said: “Presenting these sorts of ideas is what life is like in reality. I felt so exposed. Then I realised that’s what it’s supposed to feel like, I am supposed to feel uncomfortable and that’s OK.”
Meanwhile, the ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ star recently said her eldest son Rocco went through “trauma” after being introduced to his newborn baby brother.
She said: “There was a bit of an adjustment at first, Rocco didn’t quite get having the brother. He would sort of wake up in the morning and go, ‘no Rafa, no Rafa’. It’s quite a trauma on them the first few months. But it’s good, it toughens them up, right?”
Rose admits her home is more “hectic” now there’s a new addition to the family, and says it’s Rafa who causes the most fights between the two siblings, as she and Bobby are always telling the tot to “take it easy”.
She added: “It’s pretty hectic. It’s funny, the little guy is a lot more aggressive than the big guy. He just goes in for the tackle and loves to pin him down. [Rocco is very patient], he’s kind of like ‘Oh get away from me’. And we’re like ‘Rafa take it easy! Take it easy!'”

Ashley Judd: There’s hope for sexual abuse victims

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Judd says there’s “hope” for women who have been victims of “sexual abuse”.
The 50-year-old actress accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment last year and has been spearheading the movements to end sexual misconduct ever since, and she has now reassured victims their life isn’t over, because they can “heal” and grow stronger.
In a message on Twitter, the ‘Heat’ actress said: “There is hope for women who have been sexually abused. We have the opportunity to heal and take responsibility of our healing. It is a long journey to get to a particular place of healing – and it is okay. You have survived.”
Earlier this year, Ashley filed a defamation lawsuit against Weinstein after claiming he prevented her from getting a role in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ because she had rejected his sexual advances.
Weinstein, 66, then filed to have the case thrown out of court, as he claimed Ashley had “filed this action 20 years too late” as the alleged incident happened in 1998.
But the ‘Divergent’ star hit back, branding his filing as “offensive”.
Her team said in a statement: “Mr. Weinstein’s arguments seeking to escape the consequences of his despicable misconduct are not only baseless, they are offensive.
“We look forward to opposing his flawed motion, moving forward with discovery into his outrageous behavior, and proving to a jury that Mr. Weinstein maliciously damaged Ms. Judd’s career because she resisted his sexual advances.”
Meanwhile, in May this year, Ashley said she was confident people will “heal” after the #MeToo movement.
She said: “We can heal. That has been my experience. We may not, admittedly, know how to, or even from what we need to heal … We may not even think we need to heal, that maybe we’ve just had some c****y relationships. Whatever trauma looks like in our lives, feelings can be healed … [We are] ultimately responsible, respondable to our own lives. This may sound harsh, but it means we have autonomy, we are powerful, and we have agency.”

Ozzy Osbourne shuns working with Tony Iommi

OHMYGOSSIP — Ozzy Osbourne doesn’t like working with Tony Iommi.
The ‘Paranoid’ rock star headed out with his former band Black Sabbath for their final tour across 2016 and 2017, and whilst he previously spoke about not enjoying the shows, he has now specifically hit out at the band’s guitarist Tony, likening their reunion to meeting up with an ex-girlfriend after 30 years.
He said: “Do I like working with him? Not really. Do I like him as a person? Yeah, I love him as a person.
“I’ve moved on. I’ll tell you what it was like. It’s like when you’re younger and you met a girl, Susie, and you break up and you don’t see her for 30 years. Then she’s in town and you go, ‘Oh, I’ll give Susie a call,’ because your memory only remembers the good parts and you can narrow it then to a week and you go, ‘I remember that week and it was lovely.’
“But then you go back and you go, ‘I forgot the f***ing four and three-quarter years I was f***ing miserable.'”
But Ozzy, 69, does admit Black Sabbath wouldn’t be the group they are without Tony’s legendary guitar riffs.
Speaking to The Times, he added: “But if people was to say to me, ‘Was there a leader of Black Sabbath?’ I’d have to say it was Tony Iommi because without his guitar riffs we’d be still sitting in f***ing rehearsal with our thumbs up our arses going, ‘What do we do now?'”
His comments come after he previously claimed Tony’s control over Black Sabbath meant he didn’t get the same joy out of performing that he does with his solo act.
The ‘War Pigs’ hitmaker said: “With Sabbath, all I am is a singer with a band. This is a different thing. I’ve got a lot of freedom and I have fun with it… It’s not allowed to have f***ing fun with Sabbath.
“It’s too serious. Tony was trying to have a go at me, saying, ‘Don’t f***ing talk over my solos.’
“I go, ‘OK, are you sure? ‘Cause most of the f***ing song is solos. The intro to the song is f***in’ five minutes and then I sing for about two seconds and then it’s another one.’ ”

Noel Edmonds’ secret I’m A Celeb code

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Edmonds has a “secret code” to speak to his wife whilst on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 69-year-old television presenter headed into the Australian jungle this week to join the ITV celebrity survival show, and although he’s not allowed to communicate with his loved ones back home directly, he has reportedly devised a cunning code to send messages to his wife Liz.
A source said: “Noel said he was going to send out messages to Liz, telling her he loves her and how he’s doing. He has a secret code for that. But he didn’t explain to anyone else how he would do that.”
The ‘Deal or No Deal’ star – who married make-up artist Liz in 2009 – wants to use his time in the jungle to “redeem himself in the eyes of the public”.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “He believes this is a massive chance for him.
“Noel believes he will bring a load of positive energy and light into the camp – and will be like a spiritual guru and father figure to the other contestants.
“He also thinks he will have the opportunity to redeem himself in the eyes of the public.”
Meanwhile, Noel previously joked he would quit TV for good if the public vote him as King of the Jungle.
He said: “After everything I have done with Gotchas and gunging, I am well aware they are going to put me through absolute hell and I deserve it! I think the British public will enjoy seeing me finally getting my comeuppance! I just know they are going to really give me a hard time …
“I am going to win because I promise the British public if they vote for me, I will retire from television and I will never appear again. There’s a deal that I am striking with the great British public who have supported me over the years – they make me ‘King of the Jungle’ and I will retire and never appear again!”

Emily Atack told to lose weight for TV roles

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack has been told to “lose weight” to gain certain TV roles.
The 28-year-old actress is most known playing Charlotte Hinchcliffe in ‘The Inbetweeners’ and is currently appearing on ITV reality show ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’, but has said she’s been to auditions in the past where she’s been asked to “go to the gym” in order to change her body.
She said: “There have been auditions where they’ve said nicely, ‘Would you be willing to go to the gym for this role?’, I find it so hard to lose weight, it takes me weeks and weeks of dieting and training just to lose three pounds.”
Emily is constantly on camera whilst in the Australian jungle, and says learning to be comfortable with her body is something she’s always believed in.
She added: “I’m on camera all the time so being body confident is important. I’m a believer in feeling good in your skin so I put bikini pics on my Instagram.
“I definitely feel the pressure to lose weight and be smaller than I am. I wouldn’t leave the house without my make-up on.”
The actress believes she’d be happy with how she looks in “a normal world”, but the pressure of the film industry makes her concerned about her weight.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column before heading into the jungle, she said: “In a normal world I would be happy with my body, but in the film industry it’s pressurised. I would like to see curvier women playing lead roles, I got a lot of sexy roles when I was younger.
“My issue is that I love eating and I love wine. Going out for dinner and drinking wine with my friends is my favourite thing to do.
“There are some weeks that I think, ‘I should lay off the wine this week because I’ve got a film premiere’. Ultimately I will never cut anything out of my life that makes me happy.”

Jude Law had a Harry Potter marathon

OHMYGOSSIP — Jude Law used his role in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ as an excuse to enjoy a ‘Harry Potter’ marathon.
The 45-year-old actor portrays the younger Albus Dumbledore in J.K. Rowling’s latest wizarding adventure and though he’d been reassured he didn’t need to follow the late Richard Harris and Michael Gambon – who portrayed the Hogwarts headmaster in the original movie series – in his take on the iconic character, he used “research” as a way to binge on all eight films.
Speaking to the latest issue of SFX magazine, he said: “I did [watch Gambon and Harris] but I was freed up immediately by Jo Rowling and David Yates who said, ‘Come on, there are 80-odd years between them. You’re not him yet.’ There are little things I wanted to pick up on that Harris and Gambon did, but it was just an excuse to go back and get into the world.
“‘What am I doing this weekend? I’m going to watch all of the Harry Potter films and pretend I’m taking notes.’ ”
While Jude admitted his movie alter ego is “complicated”, he particularly enjoyed showing his “mischievous” side.
He said: “I think Dumbledore feels somewhat isolated and that in order to progress and do the right thing, he’s going to have to face up to the demons he’s carried and actions he’s taken in the past. He is also in a situation where he relies on others to believe in his causes and act for him. So that leaves, in its wake, rather a lot of … I suppose guilt, in a way. He’s complicated. But you know, unmistakably, as is mentioned in all the books, he has this sparkly and mischievous quality, which is such a lovely thing to be able to sprinkle in.”

Al Pacino to star in King Lear

OHMYGOSSIP — Al Pacino is set to star in ‘King Lear’.
The 78-year-old Hollywood icon might be revered for his performance as Michael Corleone in ‘The Godfather’ trilogy, but he will take on another of the industry’s most coveted roles, as he’s been cast as the titular monarch in the new film adaptation of the Shakespeare play.
‘King Lear’ is to be directed by Michael Radford – who received an Oscar nomination for his work on ‘Il Postino’ – with Barry Navidi producing, after the pair previously teamed up with Pacino for the critically acclaimed 2004 Shakespeare movie ‘The Merchant of Venice’.
Radford told The Observer: “Lear is the one that everyone aims for. Al has been toying with the idea for a long time. There’s a difference between Shylock, who’s only in five scenes, and Lear, who is in every scene, pretty much. It’s enormous. I think [Pacino] would like to have that kind of kudos because he’s a terrific actor.”
Shooting for ‘King Lear’ is expected to take place next autumn, and Navidi has described the production as “very faithful” to the original work.
He said: “Before, we had the passion and the desire, but we never had a start date. We all have the energy to do [King Lear] now. We’re creating, hopefully, an epic.
“Michael and Al are going to stick to the original poetry. But a lot is to do with the delivery and the visuals. How Michael combines it and makes it more accessible, it becomes naturalistic rather than forced.”
The film will be shot in the UK, and although Radford wants to remain true to the play, he’s said he wants to make sure the setting is “recognisable”.
He said: “A lot of people think of ‘Lear’ classically as being in some sort of medieval world where people wear rough-hewn clothes. I want the world to be recognisable – not recognisable physically, but psychologically.”

Olly Murs: Women find it hard to date me

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs thinks women find it “hard” to date him.
The 34-year-old singer is currently single and while he insists it isn’t difficult for him to find someone to go out with, he knows being his girlfriend isn’t easy because of his fame and high-profile.
He told Closer magazine: “Dating isn’t hard for me, it’s harder for the girls who meet me.
“They might have already had a preconception of me and I might not be what they expect.
“They’re also entering a world that’s quite different, they could get papped and end up in the paper.
“They may think that I’m not as good-looking as I seem on TV or they might think I’m not as nice in real life.
“Whereas for me, I’m just meeting them for the first time. Maybe that’s why I’m still single!”
Olly’s last serious relationship – with Francesca Thomas – came to an end after three years in 2015 and he admits now it was partly his “selfish” behaviour and focus on his career that was to blame for their split.
He said: “I suppose when I was with my ex, I was just a little bit selfish and my career was the most important thing.
“I didn’t want to lose what I had,, and I didn’t want to take my eye off the ball. I think that’s what happens when you’re an ambitious person and want to have a successful career – you have to be selfish.
“When I first met her, I was about to start touring across America with One Direction and then I came back and toured with Robbie Williams.
“I was always on a plane travelling somewhere, doing something. For her, at the time, it must have been super hard.”
But the ‘Troublemaker’ hitmaker has learned from the past and thinks he’d be a “better” boyfriend now.
He added: “I think I’d make it work a lot better with someone now. I think I’m in a much better place.
“I’ve learned from that relationship and what I did wrong. I’ll make sure the next person has got priority in my life and is not just part of the journey.
“Next time it will be their journey as well as mine – we will be on it together. You learn from experiences.”

Joe Sugg denies Diane Buswell romance rumours

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Sugg insists there’s “no time” for romance on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 27-year-old YouTube star has been romantically linked to his professional dance partner Diane Buswell during his time on the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition.
And after rumours surfaced about the pair “snogging like teenagers” at the Blackpool show last week, Joe has said there’s simply not enough hours in the day to rehearse their routines and have a love life.
He said: “There’s nothing in it. If we were dating, everyone would see it.
“It would be very visible. I heard the rumours about us snogging in Blackpool. That was interesting to see. To be honest we haven’t got time to think about that stuff. I’m much more focussed on dancing than anything else.”
Joe has been scoring high marks on the show in recent weeks, and says the competition has helped to boost his confidence.
Speaking to Sunday People newspaper, he added: “When you’re growing up you always compare yourself to other people. I was shy unless I was in my comfort zone. But the show has really helped me with that. Everyone on ‘Strictly’ is so nice and that makes you feel good about yourself.”
The vlogger is one of the favourites to take home the Glitterball trophy, and recently said there’s an “intense pressure” behind the title.
He said: “This whole experience has been of massive ups and downs of pressure.
“I handle the pressure well in certain circumstances, like on the actual night when the crowd is there. I actually perform better when there is a bigger crowd, which is a bit odd.
“But in terms of being a favourite, that is quite an intense pressure. You really do feel that everyone’s eyes are on you. You do sort of feel it.”

Jamie Redknapp: I’m going to vote Harry Redknapp off I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Redknapp wants to vote his father Harry Redknapp off of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ – so he can be reunited with his wife.
The 71-year-old football manager is currently competing on the ITV reality show, but his son Jamie is determined to see him leave the jungle as early as possible, because Jamie’s mother Sandra – who has been married to Harry for 54 years – misses him.
Jamie told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “I was actually really surprised when I found out he was going to be on it because he didn’t tell me, I read it in the paper.
“He was like: ‘If I had told you, you would have told me off.’
“I’m going to try and vote him out. I want to get him to come home and see my mum and get him out of there. My mum is more nervous than anything as she misses him whenever they are apart.”
His comments come after Harry admitted on the show that he calls his wife “10 times a day” when he’s out of the house, because he’s “scared” of something happening to either of them now that they’re older.
Speaking to singer Fleur East and actress Sair Khan, Harry said: “Even when I’m out I ring her 10 times a day. She’s my life. I’m a bit scared, getting a bit older. I love her too much, if anything happened it would just kill me.
“We just get on so well, I only want to be with her. I can never wait to see her. Jamie says, ‘You’ve won the lottery.'”

John Krasinski had best time with Blunt on set

OHMYGOSSIP — John Krasinski said working with his wife Emily Blunt was the “best collaboration of his career”.
The 39-year-old actor admits that working with his wife of eight years on horror film ‘The Quiet Place’ – which he starred in, wrote and directed – was “without a doubt” the most enjoyable project of his career, however, ‘The Office’ star was initially nervous about asking Emily to feature as his on-screen spouse.
In an interview with Empire magazine, he said: “It’s without a doubt the best collaboration of my career so I’d do it again in a heartbeat. I was confident about us working together. I was nervous about getting Emily to do the movie … I was afraid she would say no. Nobody wants that rejection or the awkward dinner that night. But I was actually most afraid that she’d say ‘I’ll do it for you’. Emily knew this was a huge step for me and I was putting more on the line than I ever had. I didn’t want her to do it for me because she’d always been an actress I’d watched make the most unbelievable choices.”
Despite his inhibitions, the ‘Devil Wear’s Prada’ actress agreed and the pair worked tirelessly to make the film the “best it could be”.
He said: “When she said yes, the nerves went and we started thinking about how we could make this the best it could be. We went over every line and ran through every single scene, so by the time we got to set I was having more fun than expected because I got to watch her work. Being her number one fan, I’d never been in the front row before and that was awesome. ”
