Ellie Goulding hiring teenage lookalike for wild music video

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Goulding is hiring a lookalike to play her as a teenager in a music video about her wilder days.
The ‘Close To Me’ singer has put out an advertisement for her “nostalgic and gritty” promo for her forthcoming single, ’16’.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, the relatable video will show the now 32-year-old pop star taking her first sip of booze, hang out with boys and rebelling against her parents.
An insider told the tabloid: “It’s a project close to Ellie’s heart.
“The video will see her younger self laugh, cry and get angry as she deals with angst and teen hormones.”
The retrospective promo for the song – which follows her recent single ‘Flux’ – will start shooting in the coming weeks and is due to be released in April.
Ellie – who is engaged to art dealer Caspar Jopling – admitted in 2014 on Michael Parkinson’s show that she was somewhat of a “rebel” as a teenager and dabbled in drugs and binge-drinking.
She said: “I nearly did go down that path. I was a bit of a rebel when I was 14. People would call me a goth. I had long black hair, piercings and I liked heavy metal music.”
When he asked: “And drugs?”, Ellie replied: “Yeah. I had a period of drinking and being crazy.”
In 2016, the ‘Love Me Like You Do’ singer recalled a “messy night” out with former ‘Geordie Shore’ star Scotty T at her after-party.
At the time, she said: “Gaz gave it all that and was like, ‘I really want to come to the show’ and then didn’t come, but Scotty T is absolutely hilarious, such a legend.
“He’s so much fun to go out with. We went out – him and a couple of his mates, a massive crew of us with my dancers and band, it was so much fun. He’s amazing and he’s so funny. I’m not going to lie, it was a messy night.”
However, Ellie much prefers a night in with her fiancee or being in the studio these days, and recently confessed that she can be “very unsocial”.
She said: “If I call someone on the phone, they’ll be like, ‘What’s wrong?’ Because anyone who knows me will know I just don’t speak on the phone to anyone either.
“Caspar is way more sociable than me, so sometimes he wants to do things. I’m like, ‘I want to be in the studio.’
“He’d love it if I went out more and did stuff, but I can be very unsocial.”

Sharon Marshall feared her baby would die

OHMYGOSSIP — Sharon Marshall feared her baby was going to die when she woke up in blood during her pregnancy.
The 47-year-old reporter and soap writer – who has eight-month-old daughter Betsey – was terrified about losing her unborn child, after she had a health scare six months into her pregnancy.
Sharon told The Sun Online: “When I saw the blood it put the fear of god into me.
“My blood pressure was massively high and I thought I was going to have to give birth months earlier than expected.”
Sharon worried she would never be a mother after having seven IVF attempts and two miscarriages, and she didn’t buy any baby clothes before the birth because didn’t want to “jinx” things.
She said: “Before she was born I was convinced something was going to go wrong.
“Until Betsey was actually put in my arms and I heard her let out the most almighty yell, I always felt like someone was going to say it’s all going to be taken away from me.
“I’d never allowed myself to go and buy something for the baby before I’d given birth. I wouldn’t even let myself look at the baby clothes in a shop. I was terrified to jinx it.”
Sharon is so grateful she had “brilliant” doctors to help her during her pregnancy scare, but she has mastered first aid because she knows it is now her responsibility to look after Betsey.
She said: “I had to rely on doctors then who were brilliant – but I know that Betsey is my responsibility now and in case of emergency I need to know what to do.
“I felt a lot more secure knowing how to do first aid, what I should look out for and what to worry about.”

Martin Kemp and Shirlie Holliman hint at reality show

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Kemp and his wife Shirlie Holliman may get their own reality TV show.
The couple’s son Roman Kemp, 26, has hinted the ‘EastEnders’ actor and the former Pepsi & Shirlie pop singer have been offered their own porgramme, and he has urged them to “accept the offer” because they loved featuring on BBC Two series ‘Eight Go Rallying: The Road To Saigon’.
Roman is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column as saying: “It’s difficult because we’re all in different countries so much.
“But when my mum and dad did ‘The Road To Saigon’, it was so good. I’m the one going, ‘Accept the offer’. I think they’re great on TV. They’re just funny.”
Martin said: “We were talking about it a few years ago but it never developed.”
The couple previously starred in the show which followed celebrity duos who participated in a car rally from Chiang Mai in Thailand to Ho Chi Minh City, which was formerly known as Saigon, in Vietnam covering 2,500 miles.
The former Spandau Ballet star – who also has a daughter Harley, 29, with his wife – previously said he wanted to do the rally because he is “into” cars and owns 15 Porsches.
Martin said: “I was excited by the idea of the rally. I’d never been to Thailand, Cambodia or Vietnam either. I’m more into cars than Shirlie: I’ve been lucky enough to own nice cars and have an addiction to Porsche 911s. I’ve had about 15 of them.
“A long drive seemed so much fun – but what really appealed was doing it with Shirlie – just the two of us together. The only time we ever argue is because of the satnav in the car. But on this journey [there is] no satnav.”
He also said the main “highlight” of the trip was seeing Cambodia because he liked how traditional and ancient the Southeast Asian country is in comparison to Thailand and Vietnam.

John Simm among new names for A Long Night

OHMYGOSSIP — John Simm, Richard McCabe and Marquis Rodriguez will star in the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel.
HBO have confirmed five more series regulars for the upcoming spin-off ‘A Long Night’, including John Heffernan and Dixie Egerickx, Deadline reports.
The prequel is set thousands of years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’ and, as was previously announced, will also star Naomi Watts, Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp, Toby Regbo and Miranda Richardson.
Jane Goldman has written the script with ‘GoT’ author George R.R. Marin, and will serve as showrunner, as well as executive producer alongside the writer, ‘Game of Thrones’ co-executive producer Vince Gerardis, ‘Bloodline’ co-creator Daniel Zelman, James Farrell, Jim Danger Gray, Sara Lee Hess and Chris Symes.
George, 70, revealed in October that the spin-off would be called ‘The Long Night’.
He wrote: “Casting is now underway for THE LONG NIGHT, the first of the GAME OF THRONES successor series to ordered to film. HBO has just announced the first cast member: NAOMI WATTS is coming on board as one of our stars. (sic)”
The main series of ‘Game of Thrones’ is set to come to an end when its eighth and final season airs later this year, and ‘The Long Night’ is one of a reported five spin-off projects currently in development at HBO.
In a recent blog post, George said: “Meanwhile, there are still a couple of other possible prequels in active development. I can’t tell you the subject matter of those projects, no, sorry, wish I could. The readers among you might want to grab a copy of FIRE & BLOOD when it is released on November 20, though. (sic)”

Jussie Smollett feels victim of smear campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Jussie Smollett claims he’s been a victim of a public smear campaign by Chicago officials.
The ‘Empire’ actor was told earlier this week he wouldn’t be charged over allegations he orchestrated a racist and homophobic attack on himself in January, leading to local police officials and Mayor Rahm Emanuel to slam the decision, and the 36-year-old star’s legal team has now hit back over the release of “one-sided evidence” against their client in the wake of the case dismissal.
Attorney Patricia Brown Holmes said in a statement: “We are disappointed the local authorities have continued their campaign against Jussie Smollett after the charges against him have been dropped.
“The facts are clear. The Assistant State’s Attorney appeared in court and dismissed the charges. Mr. Smollett forfeited his bond. The case is closed. No public official has the right to violate Mr. Smollett’s due process rights.
“Mr. Smollett, like every citizen, is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
“Mr. Smollett is entitled to the same Constitutional protections as any citizen charged by the government with a crime — including the right to speak freely about his innocence, the right to be viewed as innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and the right to hold the State to its burden of proving him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. None of that has occurred in this case.”
The lawyers went to criticise the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for “flip-flopping” its position on the case “several times in the past 24 hours.”
The statement continued: “We respectfully request all government agencies involved live up to the ethical tenants of their office, state and local law, Supreme Court Rules on Trial Publicity as well as the Rules of Professional Responsibility for lawyers and prosecutors.
“We will not try this case in a court of public opinion. There is no case to try. The case was dismissed. We should all allow Mr. Smollett to move on with his life as a free citizen.”
The statement was released after it was claimed prosecutors received an email asking them to cite examples when felony charges were dropped in the way they were for Jussie’s case, after his allegations were dismissed because he forfeited his bond and had already completed community service, which would likely have been his punishment if he’d been found guilty.
The memo was obtained by a CBS affiliate in Chicago and read: “We are looking for examples of cases, felony preferable, where we, in exercising our discretion, have entered into verbal agreements with defense attorneys to dismiss charges against an offender if certain conditions were met, such as the payment of restitution, completion of community service, completion of class, etc.
“Nobody is in trouble, we are just looking for further examples of how we, as prosecutors, use our discretion in a way that restores the victim, but causes minimal harm to the defendant in the long term.”
The actor’s community service has attracted further controversy as it wasn’t undertaken as part of a plea deal and the star spent just a few hours over the weekend at social justice organisation Rainbow PUSH.

Seth Rogen launches cannabis brand

OHMYGOSSIP — Seth Rogen has launched his own brand of cannabis.
The ‘Pineapple Express’ actor and ‘Superbad’ producer Evan Goldberg have been working on their company, Houseplant, for five years so to see the brand launch in Canada is a “dream come true”.
Seth said in a statement: “We have been working on this quietly for years and seeing everything come together is a dream come true. We could not be more passionate about this company and are dedicated to doing everything the right way. It is extremely important to us to treat cannabis with the reverence it deserves. What a time!”
The pair co-founded the brand with licensed cannabis producer Canopy Growth Corp (CGC), who own a 25% stake in Houseplant and will help with infrastructure and facilities to grow the drug.

And the company hope their range of product can help people “learn to love” the drug.
They said in a statement: “Houseplant is the result of years of experience and dedication, with each element and expression thoughtfully designed to make it easier for people to learn to love cannabis as much as Houseplant does.”
The first products will be available to purchase in early April through regulated retailers and online in British Columbia.

Jessie Wallace wants After Life role

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessie Wallace and Hayley Tamaddon want to star in ‘After Life’ series two.
The ‘EastEnders’ actress and the former ‘Coronation Street’ star have made public appeals to the sitcom’s creator Ricky Gervais to ask if he can write a role for them, after the 57-year-old star confirmed he is penning a second season.
Jessie – who plays Kat Moon in the BBC One soap – wrote: “can i be in it? (sic)”
Hayley – who previously starred as Andrea Beckett on the cobbles – replied: “Exactly what I said!”
The pair’s messages came after Ricky thanked fans for their praise after the first series aired on Netflix.
He tweeted: “Thanks again for all the love for #AfterLife. I have never had a reaction like this. The reviews have been great but the response from viewers has been fucking amazing. And that means so much more to me. You are the best fans in the world. Oh, and I’ve started writing series 2. (sic)”
Jessie and Hayley are not the only soap stars who have publicly praised ‘After Life’.
Nitin Ganatra – who recently departed his ‘EastEnders’ role as Masood Ahmed – says the “thought-provoking” and “uplifting” series will sit with him “for a long time”.
He wrote: “Just finished #Afterlife What an experience. What a remarkable, moving, sad, depressing, thought-provoking, joyful, uplifting, truthful, life affirming piece of work. Congratulations @rickygervais and @charlietantrum and all involved. Its going to sit with me for a long time. (sic)”

She wrote: “Isn’t it brilliant? Im going to watch the whole thing again this week. I am sure I must have missed bits and I like the way it makes me feel. Substance. Loyalty. Real love. Hilarious , emotional and rooted in reality. (sic)”

Coronation Street’s Carla Connor ‘to have huge mental breakdown’

OHMYGOSSIP — Coronation Street’s Carla Connor is to have a “huge mental breakdown” in the wake of the factory collapse.
The Weatherfield resident – played by Alison King – has found it tough to cope after her knicker factory roof fell onto several cobbles favourites, including Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia), who died as a result.
The businesswoman will end up in hospital and put on anti-psychotic drugs after feeling the pressure because of Rana’s death and several of the locals being unemployed due to the factory being closed.
A source said: “It all gets a bit much for Carla in the aftermath of the roof collapse and the pressure on her to keep people in jobs and the factory open.
“She eventually has a huge mental breakdown.”
Carla is suspected of potential wrongdoing following the terrible tragedy, but she has been leaning on on/off flame and fellow recovering alcoholic Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) for support.
And she will choose him to look after her again when she is discharged from hospital – even though the former bookie is set for a rehab stint himself when he falls off the wagon in upcoming scenes, before trying to stay off booze again to look after her.
The source added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Before she’s discharged she is put on anti-psychotic drugs and told she needs someone to look after her around the clock.
“Much to her family’s confusion, she chooses Peter, with him quitting rehab to do so.”
The latest plot news comes months after Alison admitted she would like her ‘Corrie’ character to settle down because it would be “far easier to play” lighter segments rather than her usual rocky romance scenes.
She said: “I’ve had a lot of drama, it is nice to get a balance and play the lighter stuff and some comedy.”

Nicole Kidman ‘astounded’ by the way women are judged in film

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman is “astounded” by the “harsh way women are judged” in films.
The 51-year-old actress plays Erin Bell – a police detective who is drawn back into an old case that left her traumatised – in ‘Destroyer’ and says the action movie offers a “gritty and raw and totally authentic” look at her character who doesn’t adhere to traditional beauty ideals.
In an interview with the Guardian, she said: “A lot of times if you are going to be a female in an action film, they want you to look gorgeous, be bad-ass, be capable of firing guns and doing high kicks and still having lipstick and being svelte and being in a whole different class of action hero.
“This is gritty and raw and totally authentic. It’s very different to give screen time – and this amount of screen time – to a woman who looks like this, who behaves like this, who is riddled with shame and anger and fury and rage, yet is also a mother and not a good mother.
“I’m always astounded at the harsh way in which women are judged, and I shouldn’t be. I should know that by now, but it is what it is.”
The ‘Aquaman’ actress went on to explain that although she has hope things will change in “maybe 20 years time”, she’s desperate to “carve a path for the next generation” of women and help change the cultural landscape for the better.
She added: “Maybe in 20 years time, for the next generation of women, it will be different but by god, I want to be one of those women who’s helping carve a path for the next generation, because I’m the recipient of those that have come before me to even be in this position.”

Keanu Reeves opens up on tragic Toy Story 4 character

OHMYGOSSIP — Keanu Reeves has revealed his ‘Toy Story 4’ character will have a tragic backstory.
The 54-year-old actor will play “stuntman action figure” Duke Caboom in the highly anticipated animated blockbuster sequel, and he has revealed his toy alter ego will be a “wounded person” needing “catharsis”.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: “Every kid has their toy, and Duke let his kid down when he couldn’t do what the commercial said he could. So he’s a wounded person!
“He’s needing to have some, I don’t know, catharsis. Some feeling. I wanted him to have a real sensitivity and a soft heart.”
However, Reeves also revealed that the character will have a “a really wide dramatic bandwidth” rather than just focusing on the doom and gloom, and this is what drew the star to the role.
He added: “I also saw him as a character that has a really wide dramatic bandwidth in the sense of being so big – ‘Kaboom! Kapow! Let’s go!’
“But who can also then share his wounds, like, ‘You have a kid? I had a kid. I let him down!’ And he can get quiet. So it was really a lot to play with on the playground.”
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Sandra Bullock – who co-starred with the actor in ‘Speed’ – was offered the lead role of Neo in ‘The Matrix’, which eventually went to Reeves.
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said: “We went out to so many people I don’t remember. We were getting desperate. We went to Sandy Bullock and said ‘We’ll change Neo to a girl.’
“[Producer] Joel Silver and I worked with Sandy on ‘Demolition Man’ and she was – and continues to be – a very good friend of mine.
“It was pretty simple. We sent her the script to see if she was interested in it. And if she was interested in it we would try to make the change.”

Chris Evans jokes Captain America dies in Avengers: Endgame

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Evans joked Captain America will be killed by Tony Stark.
The ‘Avengers: Endgame’ star has avoided giving too much away before the highly anticipated next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is released next month, and he said it will be an emotional experience for viewers.
When the Hollywood Reporter joked that Evans only watched until his comic book alter ego dies, he quipped: “Right, exactly.
“After I die by Tony’s hand, I just said, ‘You know what? I can’t watch this’… It’s hard. Seeing my own death.
“It’s going to be a long movie, that’s for sure. The first edit clocked in over three hours. My funeral’s like an hour.”
Although he was joking about his character’s death at the hands of Iron Man’s billionaire alter ego – who is played by Robert Downey Jr. – Evans did admit he enjoyed what he has seen of the upcoming movie.
He said: “It’s a good one. It’s a real good one. I saw, like, the first hour of it.”
And he also revealed that the first promotional trailer for the film “is a visual spoiler”, even if viewers don’t realise yet just how much has been given away with the teaser clip.
He added: “I can’t believe they even cut together a trailer, because so much of it is a visual spoiler. You’ll see. A lot of the characters have – probably shouldn’t have said that.”
The 37-year-old actor first took on the title role of Steve Rodgers’ heroic alter ego in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’, and has gone onto make eight further appearances across the MCU, with ‘Endgame’ – set to hit screens on April 26 – marking his 10th.

John Carpenter will receive Golden Coach Award

OHMYGOSSIP — John Carpenter will receive the 2019 Golden Coach Award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The horror movie icon – who has been responsible for classics like ‘Halloween’, ‘Christine’ and ‘The Fog’ – will be honoured with the Carrosse d’Or on the opening night of the Directors’ Fortnight at the annual event on May 15.
The French Directors Guild – which is responsible for choosing the recipient of the prize – described the filmmaker as “a creative genius of raw, fantastic and spectacular emotions”.
In the guild’s letter to Carpenter, the organisation said each of his movie’s “enhances the irresistible delight of staging”.
Referencing stars such as Jamie Lee Curtis and Kurt Russell, the note added: “In each of them, the work on space, on what is off-screen, on the visible and on the invisible, is constantly renewed and regenerated in order to redefine fear – a fear that is always prone to trigger emotions in characters and actors who have now become iconic.”
Meanwhile, the letter also described 1984 science fiction romance ‘Starman’ – which starred Jeff Bridges – as “one of the most moving melodramas of the 1980s”.
As well as his directorial work, Carpenter, 71, has been recognised for his many composer credits.
The guild added that his “great soundtracks keep inspiring the French electronic music scene”.
In accepting the honour, Carpenter joins previous Golden Coach winners Anges Varda (2010), Jane Campion (2013), Jia Zhangke (2015), Werner Herzog (2017) and last year’s recipient Martin Scorsese.

Ashley Tisdale to drop third album in May

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Tisdale will release her long-awaited third album ‘Symptoms’ on May 3.
The former ‘High School Musical’ star signed a deal with the label Big Noise last year, and revealed she had been working with Goldfinger frontman John Feldmann – who has produced tracks for the likes of Ashley Simpson and Hilary Duff to Blink-182 and Panic! At The Disco – on the record.
After the release of the single, ‘Voices in My Head’ from the forthcoming LP, Ashley took to her social media accounts on Wednesday (27.03.19) to reveal the official release date and artwork.
Alongside the image of her in the woods in a mustard-coloured gown, she simply wrote: “SYMPTOMS // 5.3.19 (sic).”
Speaking about the record previously, she said: “I’m so excited for this album. I’ve been in and out of the studio for the last four years and teaming up with John Feldmann has allowed me to create the most authentic album to date. I’ve co-written every song on the album and it’s so personal to me. Looking forward to sharing it with everyone!”
John added: “It has been an absolute pleasure working with Ashley on this album! Can’t wait for the world to hear this…We collaborated with some amazing writers on this album and I think the nine-year wait in between albums will have been worth it!”
Ashley’s last album was 2009’s ‘Guilty Pleasure’, which debuted at No12 on the Billboard 200.
The star’s return to music comes after she perviously admitted that she has found it difficult to find the perfect acting roles because people still see her as Sharpay from ‘High School Musical’.
She said: “Obviously the character I played [in ‘High School Musical’]was so successful and everyone loved that character.
“Right now, my goal in acting is to do roles that people haven’t seen me do before and kind of push the boundaries with that. Obviously, those are the roles that people just don’t see me in… It’s so funny how someone sees you as a certain character and then they just can’t see you as anything else, which is why I’m so happy and proud that I have my production company because I’m able to create anything. Having writers, being able to have the ideas, and say I’m going to create this.”

Roxy Music to reunite for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performance

OHMYGOSSIP — Bryan Ferry will reunite with his Roxy Music bandmates for a one-off performance at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
The 73-year-old singer, saxophonist Andy Mackay and guitarist Phil Manzanera will perform on stage together for the first time since 2011 at the ceremony on Friday (29.03.19) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The trio will be joined by a group of musicians who have either worked with Ferry or Roxy over the years.
The band’s drummer Paul Thompson and former synth player Brian Eno – who was in the group between 1970 and 1973 – are unable to take part due to prior commitments.
However, Chris Spedding, Neil Jason and Fonzi Thornton are all on board.
Only Ferry, Eno, Mackay, Manzanera, Thompson, late bass player Graham Simpson and keyboardist Eddie Jobson will become inducted.
Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon and John Taylor have been tasked with inducting the ‘Jealous Guy’ hitmakers.
The band last toured together on their ‘Roxy Music: For Your Pleasure Tour’ to celebrate the band’s 40th anniversary.
The run featured shows in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
In an interview in 2014, Manzanera stated that the glam art rock group, who achieved 10 top 10 singles between 1972 and 1982, were unlikely to reunite again and release new music.
When asked about the possibility of putting out another album, the musician said: “We all listened to it and thought, ‘We can’t do this.
“It’s not going to be any good. Let’s just bin it.’
“And so it’s just sitting there on our personal computers. Maybe one day it’ll get finished. But there’s no point in putting it out if it’s not great.”
The band’s last record was 1982’s ‘Avalon’.
Roxy Music’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction will be aired on HBO April 27.

The 1975 to host their own festival in 2020?

OHMYGOSSIP — The 1975’s Matty Healy says he and his bandmates are planning to host their own festival in 2020.
The ‘Give Yourself a Try’ hitmaker – who is joined by Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald and George Daniel in the chart-topping pop group – logged onto to Twitter on Wednesday (27.03.19) to tease fans about their idea to put on a three-day music extravaganza somewhere in the UK next year.
He wrote: “If The 1975 & Co. put on their own festival next year, over 3 nights in the UK, who’s coming? (sic)”
The 29-year-old singer added that he was being serious, writing: “#notlying.”
The BRIT-winners will headline Reading and Leeds Festivals this August, and will release the lead single from their new album ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’ on May 31.
Their recent record ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’ won Best British Album at this year’s BRIT Awards.
However, Matty previously insisted fans can expect very different content on the follow-up.
He explained: “No, what I’ve realised is it’s never going to be a continuation or an association with ‘A Brief Inquiry’. It’s a completely different record.
“Six months now is the same as what three years was before. Think about the amount of s**t that happens in six months’ time. It will be a different thing and a different time.”
Meanwhile, Matty recently hit out at bands who charge their fans for meet-and-greets.
He fumed: “Who came up with payed meet and greets? Did they think “Surely there must be something else we can monetise……..OH! Human connection!! They’ll eat that up!”
MEET YOUR FANS OR DON’T
DON’T ONLY MEET THEM IF YOU’RE GETTING PAYED HONESTLY WHAT ARE YOU DOING (sic)”
