OHMYGOSSIP — R. Kelly’s former hairdresser has spoken out about allegedly being abused by the singer.
Lanita Carter has decided to waive her anonymity because she is no longer “ashamed” of what she claims happened between her and the ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ hitmaker, who is facing 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
She said: “I’m not ashamed of my past anymore.”
Lanita admitted it is a “relief” to come forward and explained she’s done so as she wants to defend herself when she hears people defending Kelly.
In a preview of her interview with Jericka Duncan which will air on ‘CBS This Morning’ on Thursday (28.03.19), she said: “This is a relief. I’ve been carrying this since 2003.
“I have had to sit on a public bus and watch public conversation: ‘Did you hear about what they did with R. Kelly? They need to leave that man alone.’ And I can’t stand up for myself.
“I finally realised, I don’t want to be this victim. I don’t want to be a part of this.
“Today I say: no more. You can talk about me. You can not like what I’m sayin’ about your favourite singer. But this is my life… This is my truth. This is what I have.
And the hairstylist hopes she can “help” people find the courage to speak out about things that happen to them, particularly if it is at the hands of a “celebrity”.
She added: “If I die tomorrow, I know that I told the truth. I know that I want to be the best person I could be. I know that I want to help people.
“If it’s anybody that want to speak [their] truth, it’s hard when it’s a celebrity. It’s not easy. It’s not easy if it wasn’t a celebrity. It makes it 10 times worse.”
According to Cook County prosecutors, a semen sample of one of Lanita’s shirts was a match to the ‘Ignition’ singer’s DNA profile.
Kelly, 52, has previously denied the accusations against him.

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Dooley has split from her boyfriend.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ winner and her partner Sam Tucknott have gone their separate ways after three years together because the 32-year-old documentary maker has been incredibly busy over the last few months and they have struggled to find time for one another.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Stacey confided in her friends that she was struggling to hold down her romance with Sam because her life has been a whirlwind after ‘Strictly’.
“She barely saw him during the month-long tour and has gone straight back into filming documentaries and has been travelling all over the world.
“Their lives have just gone in different directions. They have a close circle of friends who hope things might yet work out but it’s not looking likely. It was very emotional and has been tough on them both.”
As well as her documentaries and the ‘Strictly’ tour, Stacey has also been busy filming ‘Glow Up’ and recently hit back at criticism over her taking the job as host of the BBC Three make-up competition.
Asked if the jibes shocked her, she said: “Of course not. It’s painfully predictable: there are always people who are desperate to put you in your one camp and never let you leave. The idea that you could be interested in the Yazidi community and also in lipstick blows people’s minds. It’s a really short-sighted Stone Age attitude; it’s boring, actually.”
And Stacey thinks that make-up should be “celebrated”.
She said of the show: “[It is] like ‘Bake Off’; every week talented, aspiring make-up artists are given new challenges, such as creating prosthetics with someone who’s Oscar-nominated.
“We should celebrate make-up. It’s a lucrative industry; a massive employer.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Angelina Jolie is in talks to star in Marvel’s ‘The Eternals’.
The 43-year-old actress could make her debut in the superhero realm if negotiations go well for the forthcoming film, which is to be directed by Chloe Zhao.
It’s not known who Jolie is in talks to portray, but sources told The Hollywood Reporter that one part of the motion picture’s storyline is expected to involve a love story between characters Ikaris, who is fuelled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes moving amongst humans.
Other details about the hotly-anticipated film are being kept under wraps, but it will be based on the Marvel comics by Jack Kirby in 1976.
Fictional species the Eternals are offshoots of the evolutionary process, and they were intended to be the Earth’s defenders, which sees them do battle with the Deviants.
The motion picture will be Jolie’s first superhero film, but she has starred in a comic book movie before, 2008’s ‘Wanted’, an adaptation of Mark Millar and J.G. Jones series of the same name.
James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Terence Stamp also starred in the project, which was directed by Timur Bekmambetov and tells the story of an accountant who joins a secret society which his professional assassin father worked for.
Earlier this month, Marvel were said to be searching for an openly homosexual actor to play the lead role in the forthcoming film.
‘Ruin’ writers Matthew and Ryan Firpo have signed up to pen the script for the movie, and Marvel Studios’ president Kevin Feige will produce the picture.

OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha was asked to audition for ‘Hustlers’ – but didn’t get the part.
The 29-year-old singer employed an acting coach after being approached to play “a Russian girl from New York” in the upcoming movie about a group of savvy former strip club employees, but she ultimately lost out on the opportunity to star with Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, Cardi B, Lili Reinhart and Julia Stiles in the film.
Speaking on Beats 1, she said: “They hit me up and I was like, ‘Okay, yeah, sure.’
“So I got an acting coach. She’s awesome and she was teaching me how to act and stuff. It was really hard though because you have to be serious.”
But Bebe’s mother was relieved that she didn’t get the job.
She admitted: “My mom was not happy about it. She’s like ‘You can’t play a stripper?’ ‘Why not? It’s not me, it’s a character.’ ”
And the ‘Say My Name’ hitmaker isn’t too upset about missing out on the movie because she’s going to appear alongside fellow singers Kelly Clarkson and Janelle Monae in animated adventure ‘Ugly Dolls’.
She said: “[Filmmakers] STX hit me up and told me about the idea of these ugly dolls, it’s crazy. It’s cute, and I wanted to do something that was meaningful.”
The film, which is due for release in May, tells the story of Kelly’s character Moxy and her Ugly Dolls friends, who confront what it means to be different, struggle with their desire to be loved, and ultimately discover that you don’t have to be perfect to be amazing because who you truly are is what matters most.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lil Wayne has demanded the return of his old lyric notebook.
The ‘Lollipop’ hitmaker has sent a legal letter to Moments in Time – who are selling the 1999 jotter for $250,000 – insisting he is the rightful owner and the broker doesn’t have permission to sell or transfer the book to anyone.
In the letter, which has been obtained by TMZ, Wayne’s legal team argued he never abandoned the notebook – which was discovered in one of his old cars – as he just misplaced it and was thrilled to learn it had been found. They accused the man who found it had “absconded with the notebook” and deliberately concealed it for years in order to cash in.
However, Gary Zimet, who owns Moments in Time is refusing to give in and insisted the Young Money boss will have to pay the asking price if he wants his words back because the person who found it “has crystal clear title”.
The 36-year-old rapper has threatened legal action in order to stop the sale of the notebook, which includes material from ‘We On Fire’ and ‘I Feel’, which were written during Wayne’s stint with rap group Hot Boys.
It was previously claimed the seller found the notebook when a dealership he works for took ownership of one of Wayne’s old cars and he rummaged through what had been left inside the vehicle.
The book has some signs of water damage, which the man explained was due to it getting close to being destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
The unnamed man stored the notebook in a box in his garage and his home and most of his garage were severely damaged when the natural disaster hit in 2005.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ legend Bill Tarmey’s son has died aged 52.
Carl Piddington has passed away 10 years after he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and told he only had 12 months to live.
A post on the Brain Tumour Research page confirmed the news of Carl’s death.
It read: “Our heartfelt condolences go out to all who knew and loved Carl.”
His father Bill played loveable ‘Corrie’ character Jack Duckworth from 1979 to 2010, and he died of a heart attack two years later in Spain aged 71.
In 2017, Carl said his dad “completely fell apart” after he told him about his cancer diagnosis.
He said: “I’ll never forget the day I told my dad I had cancer.
“He collapsed psychically and emotionally, sobbing like a baby. Dad just completely fell apart.
“We don’t think he ever recovered from that day.”
Bill left ‘Corrie’ to support Carl, but after outliving his father Carl felt “guilty” about his dad’s decision to depart the cobbles.
He previously said: “Something that really plays on my mind is the guilt I have got for my dad leaving the show that he loved, because that is what eventually killed him.
“As a family we kept asking him, ‘Are you sure you want to leave, Dad?’ He just said he had had enough and that family was more important to him.
“And then, when he went, that’s what killed my mam. It’s all down on me. It’s on my shoulders.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Killing Eve’ leads the BAFTA TV nominations with 14 nods.
The BBC drama has amassed the huge haul across the Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards and the British Academy Television Craft Awards nods, both of which were announced today (28.03.19), including two for Leading Actress for the programme’s stars Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh.
Jodie and Sandra – who play main characters Villanelle and Eve Polastri respectively – will face stiff competition from ‘Bodyguard’ actress Keeley Hawes, and Mrs Wilson’s Ruth Wilson in the category.
And ‘Killing Eve’ will also do battle with ‘Bodyguard’ for the Drama Series prize, alongside ‘Save Me’ and ‘Informer’.
Keeley could take home both Leading and Support Actress prizes on the night as she is also up for the latter alongside Billie Piper, Monica Dolan and Killing Eve’s Fiona Shaw.
The drama’s Kim Bodina will take on ‘Save Me’ star Stephen Graham, A Very English Scandal’s Ben Whishaw, and ‘Unforgotten’ actor Alex Jennings in the Supporting Actor category.
And ‘Save Me’ and ‘Killing Eve’ will continue to face off in the Writer: Drama category, with the BBC drama’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge up against Lennie James.
If one of the pair scoop the gong, they will have to overcome ‘Patrick Melrose’ scribe David Nicholls, and A Very English Scandal’s Russell T. Davies.
Russell’s show could also be a big winner on the night after the series picked up 12 nods, including one for Hugh Grant in the Leading Actor category. Benedict Cumberbatch, Chance Perdomo and Lucian Msamati are also up for the accolade.
What’s more, Benedict’s nod is one of six for ‘Patrick Melrose’ across the TV and Craft nominations.
The show is also up for ‘Mini-Series’ alongside familiar faces in ‘Kiri’, ‘Mrs Wilson’ and ‘A Very English Scandal’.
Away from the drama, Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly received two nods.
One came in the Entertainment Performance category – against David Mitchell, Lee Mack, and Rachel Parris – and their show ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’ is up against ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, ‘Michael McIntyre’s Big Show’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, which they co-host, for Entertainment Programme.
The BAFTA TV Awards will take place at London’s Royal Festival Hall on May 12.

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Bieber was stopped by police after they thought he’d stolen his shoes.
The 25-year-old singer saw the funny side when a cop got confused by his limited-edition Off-White X Nike Air Max 90 sneakers – a collaboration with the sports brand and designer Virgil Abloh – and mistook the white zip tie looped through the laces for a security tag.
The ‘Sorry’ singer showed off the show on his Instagram Story and, tagging Virgil into his post, wrote: “Virgil, my god, bro. You freaking — you’re killing me, man!
“I just had a cop come up to me and ask me why I still had the security tag on my shoe. What the…
“I had to tell him, ‘Bro, it’s just fashion.’ I don’t know. He’s like, ‘It sure looks like a security tag.’
“I’m like, ‘Nah, bro, you can check it out.’ It looks like it though… but you’re getting me in trouble!”
The sneakers were released in January with a retail price of $160 but have been so in demand, they are being resold for around $600.
Justin’s encounter isn’t the first time he’s spoken with police this week as on Tuesday (26.03.19), a woman was arrested after barging into his hotel room in Laguna Beach, California.
According to sources, the unnamed female had been partying and had earlier been escorted out of the hotel after she was found roaming the hallways but had returned for an unknown reason and walked straight into Justin’s room by mistake.
The ‘Love Yourself’ singer is said to have remained calm and told the woman to leave before his security guards stepped in and held her until police arrived.
The female, who is in her late 30s, appeared to be drunk and was booked for trespassing.
Sources explained the unnamed woman had been visiting guests at the hotel the night before and had been staying in a room close to the one where Justin was staying.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alec Baldwin learned he isn’t “that angry” after going to anger management classes.
The 60-year-old actor was recently ordered to attend the group sessions after being charged with harassment last November following a row over a parking space and he admitted he’s been shocked by the level of aggression within the other people there.
He said: “What’s funny is when you go to anger management classes you realise you’re not that angry.
“The other people in the class… They’re like, ‘I asked a guy, I don’t want chopsticks, I want a fork and he put the chopsticks in the bag so I get to my office and open it up and there’s chopsticks in there so I go back and I’m like, “What the f**k did I say to you?” ‘
“Everyone is going nuts and I’m like, ‘Hey man, chopsticks can be a lot of fun, countless generations of Asians have used chopsticks.’ ‘Alec Baldwin, why don’t you just shut up?’ ”
The ‘Saturday Night Live’ star – who has 23-year-old Ireland with ex-wife Kim Basinger, and Carmen, five, Rafael, three, Leonardo, two, and Romeo, 10 months, with spouse Hilaria – also opened up about the parking space row and insisted his “problem” was that the other motorist was very “aggressive” and he was concerned for the safety of his family.
Speaking to Howard Stern on Sirius XM, he said: “The thing is, there are cameras everywhere. So I guess, to be glib about it, unfortunately for him, there were cameras everywhere but nobody punched anybody. That’s why my case was dismissed to harassment or knocked down with harassment, they said I pushed him…
“My problem was that when he aggressively takes this parking space from me, which is you know, that’s not the end of the world, I thought… he was gonna get close to hitting my wife and son.
“I just felt that what he did was impolite, bordering on dangerous because he didn’t walk up to me and say, ‘Excuse me, I’ve been waiting here and I’d like to take this space.’ Nothing. He just went fast and really aggressive and my wife and my son were standing there by the curb.
“Now I got every f***ing numbnuts a**hole in the world writing to me online going, ‘You don’t have a garage?’ I have one down the block actually.”

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend is co-producing a new music-based dating show.
The ‘Love Me Now’ hitmaker’s Get Lifted Film Co. is joining forces with ‘American Idol’ producer Simon Lythgoe’s Legacy Productions and Critical Content for a US version of the popular Vietnam series, ‘Love at First Song’, which was a huge hit last year.
The format sees couples pen a romantic ballad together and discover whether they have an intimate connection through performing the track live, they then spend hours together rehearsing and getting to know one another, before competing in each episode and potentially swapping partners if the “chemistry” isn’t there.
According to Variety, the reality show: “creates couples through emotional performances in which single singers ‘virtually’ rehearse a romantic duet, then reveal themselves and their potential chemistry during performance.
“These couples then live together, practice together, perform and compete together, but may swap partners in every episode — for love or music.”
Simon believes the “unique” show could produce the next big power couple duo like “Sonny & Cher or Jay-Z & Beyonce”.
He said in a statement: “Having worked on some of the biggest reality singing competitions in the world like ‘American Idol’ and ‘Popstars’, this is the first format I’ve seen in a decade that’s a unique hybrid having all the right ingredients to be a huge international success.
“And more importantly, ‘Love at First Song’ has the potential to launch the next great duo like Tim [McGraw] & Faith [Hill], Sonny & Cher or Jay-Z & Beyonce.”
Mike Jackson of Get Lifted – which he launched in 2012 with John and Ty Siklorius – added: “There’s almost nothing more compelling than watching two vocalists with chemistry sing a love song together on stage.
“This show will take the audience to the next level by bringing them behind the scenes to the laboratory where that chemical reaction began.
“Critical Content and Simon Lythgoe are the perfect mad scientists for us to partner with to bring this concoction to American viewers.”
There are currently no details on when the show is likely to hit screens.

OHMYGOSSIP — Monica has filed for divorce.
The ‘Boy Is Mine’ hitmaker has split from former Los Angeles Lakers player Shannon Brown – the father of her five-year-old daughter Laiyah – after eight years of marriage and applied to formally end their marriage earlier this month, TMZ reports.
It is unclear Monica is seeking child or spousal support but she has failed in a bid to have the divorce documents sealed.
The 38-year-old singer hasn’t been seen with her wedding ring on in her Instagram posts since February 25, and three days after that, she shared a photo praising the “loyalty” of her pals.
Posing alongside Antonia Wright and Tiny Harris, she wrote: “Real friends you can lean on. Associates are met in passing, Friends are meant to be forever … Loyalty over Everything … Family Before Anything.”
And on March 2, Monica paid tribute to Laiyah and her two sons from a previous relationship, 13-year-old Rodney, who is known as Rocko, and 11-year-old Romelo, as well as her loyal fans.
She wrote: “Treasure people while they are present to feel your gratitude. To my children you are the reason. The center of my joy , I love you ! To my supporters you are all irreplaceable!!”(sic)”
The Grammy award-winning star secretly married Shannon in a private ceremony in November 2010 and they kept their nuptials secret until January 2011.
The couple later staged a second wedding for family and friends in July 2011.
Meanwhile, last year, the ‘Commitment’ singer opened up about how she and 33-year-old Shannon – who has a son Christopher, from a previous relationship – co-parent their blended family.
She said: “You have to think of the children first at all times and the reality is, if it’s not about them it’s not up for discussion. We have to tuck our feeling in as a blended family and say ‘okay what would be best’ and what’s the best way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex Wolff has joined the cast of ‘The Line’
The 21-year-old actor is set to star in the new thriller in which Ethan Berger will make his directorial debut Alex Russek has penned the script, alongside John Malkovich, Scoot McNairy, Jessica Barden and Lewis Pullman.
According to Deadline, the movie will be “a coming-of-age thriller at a university that encapsulates the wild excitement of being young and the dangers of living without fear of consequences”.
It isn’t known who the ‘Hereditary’ star will play but Alex has described the film as a “profoundly nuanced portrait of a young man”.
In a statement, he said: “‘The Line’ will be a profoundly nuanced portrait of a young man being sucked into this seemingly glamorous, rambunctious and familial unit. Its heartbreak echoes a larger issue with men and their painful need for approval, love and nurture, letting you peer in on what seems like a utopia-like world for a young man, and how quickly one horrible accident can turn that world into a nightmare.”
Lije Sarki is producing with Valparaiso Pictures’ David Carrico and Adam Paulsen, whilst Bobby Hoppey is the executive producer.
Alex is also set to reprise his role in the upcoming sequel to ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ alongside Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman and Morgan Turner- who all appeared at the beginning and end of the film as children who were transformed into adult avatars.
The original 1981 book and 1995 movie of the same name both told the story of a magical board game in which wild jungle animals came into the real world.
But the 2017 reboot updated the concept by making the game into a video game in which four teens transported into its world, where the kids changed into grown-up avatars.

OHMYGOSSIP — Spice Girls have given Diplo their blessing to rework one of their biggest hits for a new single.
The 40-year-old US DJ – who last year teased a new recording of ‘Wannabe’ with Charli XCX – is to aid the girl group’s comeback by sampling one of their top tunes on a new track this summer.
A source said: “Diplo is a big Spice Girls fan and wants to introduce their music to a new generation.
“There is so much renewed interest in the girls ahead of the tour and he has reworked one of their best-known songs for a 2019-style tune.”
The girl band – now made up of Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C, after Victoria Beckham decided against joining their reunion – are said to be “excited” about the collaboration.
The source added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “The girls gave their approval after hearing it and are all excited about its release.”
Emma recently hinted the ‘Viva Forever’ hitmakers could start writing new material while they are on their reunion tour, which begins on May 24th.
She said: “We haven’t started writing or ­anything like that and it would have to be organic.
“So we’ll have to see. After the tour maybe, or ­during the tour I think, especially with us girls. We’re always like, ‘What’s next?’ So it could happen. Who knows?”
But Geri looks to be concentrating on the songs the band already have after she reportedly hired her own singing coach to ensure her voice is in “perfect” shape for the tour.
An insider recently said: “Geri is anxious to make sure she is up to standard when the girls get back together … so she has hired a singing instructor.
“She doesn’t want to be the one people point the finger at if it isn’t note perfect.”
This comes just days after Mel B claimed she once enjoyed a night of passion with Geri.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande has admitted the first few years of her career were “really hard” on her mental health.
The ‘Thank u, Next’ hitmaker has thanked her fans for being supportive of her spate of “random, impulsive and excessive” music releases but admitted not sticking rigidly to a traditional schedule of bringing out new songs and having to promote them have made her feel “much more connected” and given her a new lease of life.
She shared a post on Twitter which read: “Just saying. Thanks for being supportive of my random, impulsive and excessive music releases.
“The first few years of this were really hard on my mental health and energy.
“I was so tired from promo trips and was always losing my voice and never knew what city I was in when I woke up.
“It was so much. It was worth it and i am grateful for everything i learned and accomplished when I did things that way, of course.
“But I just feel so much more connected now and yeah… If I feel like I’m able to make special things with my incredible friends quickly, why not share them right away?
“It’s a very dope feeling and has breathed so much air back into my lil lungs. (sic)”
The 25-year-old singer – who has released two albums, ‘Sweetener’ and ‘Thank U, Next’ since August 2018 and six singles over the last year – admitted she has found it more “authentic and rewarding” to bring music out on her own terms.
In response to a fan praising her for making the “best decision” she’s ever made, she replied: “It feels sm healthier & sm more authentic & rewarding. regardless of the outcome, i prefer this bc it’s real & feels happy. no games
“I love music. i love the ppl i make it w. these past few months made me fall in love w this job all over again. so thank u sm for being down.”
And the ‘7 Rings’ hitmaker is now planning to bring forward the release of her collaboration with Victoria Monet.
She tweeted: “Man, let’s drop it tomorrow night. Seven rings is about to be number one for eight weeks and the album might go back to no. 1 too..(sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jim Jarmusch’s zombie comedy ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ will be released this summer.
Focus Features has announced that the horror romp starring Selena Gomez and Bill Murray will debut on June 14 this year.
The cast of the hotly-anticipated film will also include Tilda Swinton, Adam Driver, Steve Buscemi, and Chloe Sevigny and although the names of the characters are not known previously released on-set photographs showed Gomez, 25, being attacked by zombies, whilst Murray was dressed as a cop.
Not much is known about the movie’s plot but it is believed that it will take a “hilarious” look at the undead, according to Empire.
Murray – who worked with Jarmusch on 2003’s ‘Coffee and Cigarettes’ and 2005’s ‘Broken Flowers’ – previously teased the film back in March but refused to divulge too many details at the time, although he did confirm that he wasn’t playing a zombie.
Murray said: “I’ve got a good job coming up. Brace yourself: It’s a zombie movie. Jim Jarmusch has written a zombie script that’s so hilarious and it has a cast of great actors: Rosie Perez, Daniel Craig. It’s titled ‘The Dead Don’t Die’, and it shoots over the summer. But, no, I will not play a zombie.”
Gomez has her hands full this year as she’s agreed to reprise her role as executive producer on the next series of Netflix’s ’13 Reasons Why’ and is set to voice an animal character in ‘The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle’, scheduled for release in 2019.
Producers are Joshua Astrachan and Carter Logan. Focus Features and Universal Pictures International will distribute the film worldwide.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney goes birdwatching between shows.
The ‘Blackbird’ singer – who named his post-Beatles band with his late-wife Linda, Wings – is a keen ornithologist and during his downtime on his current ‘Freshen Up Tour’, he and his wife Nancy Shevell have turned their hands to a spot of wildlife observation.
The 76-year-old music legend and 59-year-old businesswoman were in their element in Park Sao Paulo in Brazil earlier this week, as they got to see 36 different types of bird.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “It was a wonderful way to chill out.”
Brazil is one of McCartney’s favourite places as he always returns their when he’s touring the globe and his latest album ‘Egypt Station’, which was released last year, even features the track ‘Back in Brazil’.
As well as ‘Blackbird’ from the seminal 1968 Beatles record ‘The White Album’, the ‘Hey Jude’ songwriter has a track called ‘Bluebird’ on Wings’ 1973 LP ‘Band on the Run’ and ‘Jenny Wren’ appears on his 13th solo record ‘Chaos and Creation in the Backyard’.
McCartney previously admitted he is a bird-lover because he thinks they are “symbolic of freedom”, whilst he revealed birdwatching has been a pastime of his from a young age, having grown up on the “outskirts” of Liverpool.
Speaking in 2008, he said: “I’ve always liked birds. It’s a theme of mine. I think they’re symbolic of freedom, of flying away.
“As a kid, I was a keen ornithologist and had a little pocket book, the Observer’s Book Of Birds.
“I lived on the outskirts of Liverpool and could walk just a mile to be in quite deep countryside.”
The ‘FourFiveSeconds’ hitmaker also revealed that he is highly superstitious when it comes to magpies, but that he’s “very inspired” by the black and white feathered creatures, which many see as an annoyance.
He said: “Living in the country, I see a lot of them. “You see one and you spit or salute. I happen to spit. “I love it when you see two for joy.
“I don’t shoot or catch them like a lot of people. “They’re not supposed to be good for other songbirds and a lot of keen gardeners don’t like them, but I do. “I’ve got lots. To me, it’s double joy or triple joy.
“I’m very inspired on a spring morning if I see a crowd of eight.”
