Stephen Hillenburg dies aged 57

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephen Hillenburg has died aged 57.
The ‘SpongeBob Squarepants’ creator passed away after a battle with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or motor neurone disease – as it is also known.
Nickelodeon said in a statement: “We are incredibly saddened by the news that Steve Hillenburg has passed away following a battle with ALS. He was a beloved friend and long-time creative partner to everyone at Nickelodeon, and our hearts go out to his entire family. Steve imbued ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ with a unique sense of humour and innocence that has brought joy to generations of kids and families everywhere. His utterly original characters and the world of Bikini Bottom will long stand as a reminder of the value of optimism, friendship and the limitless power of imagination.”
Stephen – who revealed he was diagnosed with ALS in March last year – graduated from university with a bachelors degree and went onto become a marine biology teacher. He was also a keen fan of writing and illustrating stories, where the characters found themselves under the sea, which was a foundation for his hit show.
It wasn’t until 1987 when he started his career in animation, working on Nickelodeon’s series ‘Rocko’s Modern Life’ between 1993 and 1996.
The first episode of ‘SpongeBob Squarepants’ arrived onto Nickelodeon in 1999, followed by a full series beginning in the July of that year. There have been over 200 episodes to date and it is a favourite amongst children and adults alike.
Stephen also worked on 2004’s ‘The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie’, writing, producing and directing it whilst also penning the script for ‘The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water’ in 2015 and acting as executive producer.
Stephen is survived by his wife Karen Hillenburg, their son Clay, his mother Nancy Hillenburg and brother Brian Kelly Hillenburg.

The ‘Taxi Driver’ star has announced he is “entering a period of transition” in his relationship with the actress and philanthropist but insists they will remain good friends for the sake of their two children – Elliot, 20, and Helen Grace, six.
He said in a statement: “Grace and I have two beautiful children together. We are entering a period of transition in our relationship which is a difficult but constructive process. I honour Grace as a wonderful mother and ask for privacy and respect from all as we proceed to develop our roles as partners in parenting.”
Rumours of the pair’s split came last week when a source claimed they are not living together and planned to make a formal announcement shortly.
One source told the New York Post’s Page Six column: “They are not living together at this time.”
Whilst an insider added to People magazine: “Sometimes things don’t work out the way you hope or want them to.”
Robert and Grace – who are notoriously private about their relationship – tied the knot in 1997 after 10 years of dating. However, the couple went through a bit of a rocky patch two years into their marriage, which saw Robert file for divorce, but he later pulled the papers. The couple also renewed their wedding vows 14 years ago, joined by their good friends including Meryl Streep, Ben Stiller and Martin Scorsese.

OHMYGOSSIP — Netflix has announced plans to adapt Roald Dahl’s books into a number of new animated series.
The online streaming service unveiled the exciting new this week as it confirmed the likes of ‘Matlida’, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and ‘The BFG’ would be reimagined alongside other beloved classics.
In a statement on Twitter, the company said: “Netflix will adapt the Roald Dahl universe of stories as a new slate of animated event series.
“‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, ‘Matilda’, and ‘The BFG’ are just a few of the titles from the author’s beloved and award-winning library that will be reimagined for a new generation.”
Titles like ‘The Twits’ and ‘Gerge’s Marvellous Medicine’ are also set to be brought to life on the small screen.
Roald’s widow Felicity Dahl said: “Our mission, which is purposefully lofty, is for as many children as possible around the world to experience the unique magic and positive message of Roald Dahl’s stories.

Tyrese Gibson wins child support row

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyrese has won his latest child support battle with ex-wife Norma Gibson.
The ‘Fate of the Furious’ star has been told he will not have to foot the bill for childcare costs for 11-year-old Shayla when his former partner is running “non-work errands” or is busy doing things to “run the household”, TMZ reports.
However, Tyrese didn’t get everything he asked for as the law regarding child support reimbursement “does not limit the type of employment” Norma may pursue, so she can still ask him to repay any money she spends of babysitters while “developing her life coaching business, working on her book, and pursuing her art,” so long as “the art is done as business.”
The 39-year-old actor had demanded Norma kept an itemised list of her expenses and how she spends her time, and though the court didn’t order to do so, they made a recommendation that she “maintain a diary of time spent on work.”
The ruling comes after it was previously revealed Norma – who split from Tyrese in 2009 after two years of marriage – had claimed she needed seven hours of childcare one day in August because she was busy “living life”.
She further explained: “I am working. I am working on my book. I am working on my life. I am running errands at home.”
The ‘Transformers’ actor and his team insist Norma simply feels no obligation to find a job or contribute financially to raising Shayla because Tyrese is rich and able to cover all the costs.
The ‘Death Race’ actor previously requested receipts for the $25-an-hour childcare being used by his ex-wife because he wanted proof the bills existed as if Norma has no job, there’s no reason why she would need childcare.
He also felt he shouldn’t be paying the bill if it was for Norma’s personal reasons, such as going out for dinner without their daughter.
Tyrese – who also has daughter Soraya, eight weeks, with wife Samantha – argued the court never laid out guidelines for when he has to reimburse Norma for childcare, or how many hours she can ask him to pay for.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie ask for more time with private judge

OHMYGOSSIP — Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have asked for more time with a private judge to help settle their divorce.
The former couple are currently trying to reach a settlement over the custody of their six children and have filed documents with the court asking for the Honorable John Ouderkirk – who also officiated their wedding in 2014 – to continue overseeing the matter until 31 December 2019, six months after he was originally due to finish.
According to The Blast, the ‘Maleficent’ actress wants the judge to oversee all pre-trial motions and requests, and then handles the private custody trial, if it is needed.
The ‘Moneyball’ actor and the ‘Unbroken’ filmmaker – who noted in the legal request that she and Brad are paying the judge privately – will move on to other parts of their divorce and the division of their assets once the issues surrounding care of the children are resolved.
It was claimed last week that the pair – who split in September 2016 – had been close to finalising an arrangement over the care of Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
Brad and Angelina were said to have agreed the ongoing fight is hurting the children, so want to avoid the pain of a lengthy court battle.
Though Angelina, 43, had originally wanted sole custody of the kids and is said to have fought for the ‘World War Z’ actor to get “minimal” time with his brood, the new agreement is believed to include a “substantial” amount of time given to Brad, 54.
Earlier this year, Angelina was ordered by a judge to allow her children to spend more time with their father, or risk losing custody.
The judge told her: “If the minor children remain closed down to their father and depending on the circumstances surrounding this condition, it may result in a reduction of the time they spend with [Jolie] and may result in the Court ordering primary physical custody to [Pitt].”

Adam Levine can’t wait to be 40

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Levine can’t wait to turn 40.
The ‘Girls Like You’ hitmaker hits the milestone birthday next year and is looking forward to celebrating four decades of life because he has everything he’s wanted.
He said: “Bring it! I mean, I don’t know what the f**k else do I want? I’ve got a beautiful family, a beautiful wife, two beautiful babies, and I’ve got money in the bank, and I’m really happy with my career and my output and the person that I’ve become and the person that I hopefully will stay. S**t, it’s too daunting to imagine anything else. I feel like I’ve already achieved anything beyond my wildest dreams.
“Age is funny. When someone’s 26 and they talk s**t, you’re like, ‘F**k you. You don’t know anything. You’re gonna be my age and will hate the person you were when you said these things … look, I did as well as I could with my young male brain. I didn’t get arrested. I didn’t go to prison. To me, 40 seemed like old age when I was 26. Hell, 26 seemed old when I was 23, so it’s all relative.”
And the 39-year-old singer – who has Dusty Rose, two, and Gio Grace, nine months, with his wife Behati Prinsloo – admits it is a “very tricky” time at the moment to be a prominent male public figure.
He told Variety magazine: “Being a male who is a prominent public figure is a very tricky place to be. There are dangerous waters to navigate. You always want to be on the right side of something you feel passionately about. I have two young daughters, and to think about them being mistreated at all – ever – made my blood boil. So we went for it because I felt that as long as I stayed close to my heart with this concept, I could never go wrong … in the video, I was doing it for my kids and my wife. If anyone doesn’t understand the intentions, f**k ’em.”

Adam Levine cryptic about Super Bowl criticism

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Levine has responded to criticism of Maroon 5’s decision to play the Super Bowl halftime show.
The ‘Moves Like Jagger’ hitmakers have been met with fierce backlash over the upcoming event in February, with almost 64,000 people signing a petition calling for them to drop out as a protest over police brutality and racial inequality.
Asked by Variety about the band’s decision to perform, he cryptically replied: “I’m still formulating a lot of things.”
Rihanna had previously turned down the gig in support of former NFL star Colin Kaepernick, who started the ‘take a knee’ movement during the US national anthem.
Earlier this year, Amy Schumer called on Maroon 5 to cancel their appearance at the major event.
The 37-year-old actress took to her Instagram account to call on Adam and co to withdraw from show and revealed she won’t be starring in any Super Bowl commercials this year in support of the athlete.
She said: “I think it would be cool if @maroon5 backed out of super bowl like @badgalriri Did. I personally told my reps I wouldn’t do a Super Bowl commercial this year. I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it’s all i got. Hitting the nfl with the advertisers is the only way to really hurt them.
Commenting at the time – before the appearance was made official – Levine admitted he would be “equal parts nervous and excited” about the show.
He said: “It’s the Super Bowl. It’s a great event and there’s gonna be a band performing, or an artist of some kind performing at halftime. And it’s gonna be great regardless of who it is.
“Whoever is lucky enough to get that gig probably is gonna crush it … Whoever does it is probably equal parts nervous and excited. This is all speculative because I don’t know who I’m talking about. If it were me, I’d be excited, I’d be nervous… If I were doing it, which I can’t confirm or deny I am, I would be excited.”

Kristin Cavallari remembers late brother

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristin Cavallari’s late brother is her family’s “guardian angel”.
The ‘Hills’ star knows her sibling Michael, who passed away three years ago, is watching over her and her family – her husband Jay Cutler and their three children, Camden, six, Jaxon, four, and Saylor, three.
She told Entertainment Tonight: “I was just talking to my mom about it. We definitely feel him around sometimes, which is special. Today’s actually the three-year anniversary of his passing, so it’s kind of crazy. Thanksgiving is a tough time for us, but we definitely feel like he’s watching over us. He’s my kids’ little guardian angel, so it’s nice … There’s a part of me that’s like, I wish I could talk to him and show him everything that’s been happening. But then, I also feel like he probably knows, you know? Like him passing truly made me a much more spiritual person and really look inward and find what I really believe in. And I definitely feel like he’s around and he knows what’s going on. So it’s all good, you know?”
And Kristin also took to social media to pay tribute to Michael, who went missing in early December 2015 and was later found dead.
She wrote on Instagram: “Home from a busy morning and thinking of my brother. Today is the 3 year anniversary of his passing and I think this year is one of the hardest – as it’s real now. He’s not coming back and the shock is finally gone. Today and every single day, Mikey, we miss you.”

Ayda Field ‘loves’ Robbie Williams’ hometown of Stoke-on-Trent

OHMYGOSSIP — Ayda Field loves Robbie Williams’ “idyllic” hometown.
The ‘X Factor’ judge – who appears on the panel alongside the ‘Let Me Entertain You’ hitmaker – has revealed she is a huge fan of the English city of Stoke-on-Trent, even if she saw a different side to it during a family visit.
Speaking on the ‘Is It Just Me?’ podcast, she said: “When we first got together, he showed me Stoke-on-Trent on Google Earth. I went, ‘It looks idyllic, babe’.
“Rob was like, ‘I don’t know whether idyllic is the word’… Rob had just got the key to the city and we took [our daughter] Teddy to the park and we were having this really lovely moment.
“There were kids and one of these kids was riding a bike. Robbie said, ‘It was sweet growing up here, it was really nice’.
“And just as he said that, the other kids knocked the kid off the bike, beat him up and stole his bike. We laughed, naturally.”
Despite the somewhat rude awakening, Ayda – who was born in Los Angeles, California – still praised the city, and admitted even she gets feelings of nostalgia when she’s there.
She added: “I love Stoke-on-Trent, it is where Rob grew up. He gets nostalgic there, I get nostalgic there, but it is very different from Beverly Hills.”
Ayda hasn’t hidden her love for the UK and its culture in the past, and she recently revealed she is a big fan of Britpop icons Oasis, despite their issues with her husband.
After a performance of ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ by ‘X Factor’ finalist Anthony Russell, she said: “Anthony, I agree that is the song I’ve been waiting to hear. It’s got the grit, it’s got the indie Northern vibe. I love Oasis! and I’m just really happy seeing you on that stage giving that performance.”
Earlier this year, Liam Gallagher rubbished the idea of ever collaborating with Robbie, saying it wouldn’t be a “wise move”.
The outspoken rocker shot down Robbie’s suggestion that they should put their feud behind them and record a song together.
When Liam was told that the ‘Angels’ hitmaker was eager to work with him, he replied: “I’m sure he does. It’s not happening, is it?”
Although Liam acknowledged that they’ve both matured over the years, he didn’t express any enthusiasm for a collaboration.
He said: “We grow up and do our thing, but I don’t think me and him singing together would be a wise move.”

Jennifer Lopez’s self-doubt

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez took a “long time” to believe in herself.
The ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker admits she suffered from a lot of self-doubt at the beginning of her career and constantly worried what people thought of her.
She said: “You know, I’ve really become – and I think from being in this business, I don’t let the opinion of others really influence how I think about myself. And that took a long time. Because in the early party of my career, I did, and it made me feel really bad about myself.”
And the 49-year-old star kept persevering with her talents despite the criticism.
Speaking during a panel after a New York City screening of her upcoming film ‘Second Act’, she added: “I’m killing it, and then everybody’s like, ‘She can’t sing, she can’t dance, she can’t act, she’s just some pretty face or her butt is big’ or whatever they were saying about me and I started thinking, ‘Yeah, that’s true.’ And it really hurt me for a long time … I just couldn’t allow myself to let that become who I was. I was like, ‘No, I’m gonna make another record, I’m gonna make another song, I’m gonna make another movie. I’m a great actress, I’m a great singer, a great dancer, I’m great at this stuff! And I’m gonna keep going!’ And I did. And that’s all I did. I just kept going. And I just started working harder and harder than everybody else. I started believing in myself. I started believing in the fact that I wasn’t an imposter, that I wasn’t a fake.”

Ruth Wilson worried about family reaction

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruth Wilson was “nervous” about her family seeing ‘Mrs. Wilson’.
The 36-year-old actress portrays her own grandmother – who discovered her late husband had multiple secret wives and children – in the new BBC drama series and she was concerned about how their relatives would react to the story.
She admitted: “I was so nervous about their reaction, because it was the first time they had seen it.
“I knew watching their family story must be an odd experience, whether it is moving or just discombobulating. I was very sensitive to how emotional they might be feeling in this big public arena. I didn’t care what anybody else thought!”
Thankfully, Ruth’s family approved of the production and she herself is very “proud” of the drama, which she thinks is a “gift” to their loved ones.
She told The Big Issue magazine: “As my career grew, people were more willing to listen to this story and the BBC were more willing to take a risk on me.
“The stars all aligned at the right time. It is something I will be very proud of forever. It does feel like a gift to my family.”
Away from the family connection, the ‘Luther’ actress thinks the “unique” story has much wider appeal because it’s so gripping.
She said: “I think it is unique. A real, true domestic drama that is deeply personal, but also full of intrigue. It feels like a domestic thriller.
“It has scale to it but really it is about this woman, her journey and what, on a very intimate level, she is going through. Her life was really ordinary.
“But she married this extraordinary individual and through that her life became extraordinary.
“It makes you feel that maybe everyone’s life, in close up, is extraordinary.”

Will Smith blessed to have relationship with eldest son

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Smith feels “blessed” to have restored his relationship with his eldest son.
The ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ star is lucky to have a great relationship with his 26-year-old son Trey – who he has with his ex Sheree Zampino – but admits it has not been easy and they had “struggled for years” before getting to this point.
Alongside a video of him and his son, Will wrote on Instagram: “It has not always been like this between Trey & I. We STRUGGLED FOR YEARS after my Divorce from his Mother. He felt betrayed & abandoned. It is a Wild Blessing to recover & restore a Loving Relationship with My Beautiful Son! @treysmith0011 (sic)”
In the video, the 50-year-old actor revealed Trey had recently called his dad his best friend.
He says: “So I’m in Abu Dhabi at the F1. I brought my son Trey. We’ve been hanging and I usually take my kids separately on stuff so they have their individual daddy time. So we’ve been doing this, hanging at the F1, and he said, ‘You know what dad? I just realised you’re not just my dad.’ He paused and said, ‘I’m pretty sure you’re my best friend.'”
Meanwhile, Will previously joked that his kids finally think he’s cool thanks to ‘Suicide Squad’ and he is grateful his role in the movie has given him some power in his household.
He said: “This is the type of thing that, no matter how cool you think you are, your kids think you suck. This is like the first time where like I’m cool for real. The Suicide Squad, I don’t know what it is, but something about this idea and something about this cast has really captured something. So my kids are doing what I say, at least for the next couple of months.”

Rylan Clark-Neal would be ‘devastated’ by Big Brother snub

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark-Neal would be “devastated” if ‘Big Brother’ returned without him.
The 30-year-old presenter fronted spin-off ‘Big Brother’s Bit On the Side’ from 2013 until it ended this summer and while he hopes the programme will return eventually, he would be upset if he wasn’t still a part of it.
Rylan – who won ‘Celebrity Big Brother 11’ in January 2013 – told the new issue of OK! magazine: “Fingers crossed Big Brother will be picked up somewhere. I always said I would never leave Big Brother unless I was sacked or not wanted, so if it does go elsewhere and they want a new host then fair enough, but I’ll be devastated.
“Big Brother changed my life.”
In 2015, Rylan married his husband Dan, who had been a contestant on the 2014 series of ‘Big Brother’ and he joked meeting his spouse is one of his best moments about the show.
Asked his highlights, he said: “Winning it and finding a husband from it. No, genuinely, my team. We’re one massive family.”
Two years ago, the former ‘X Factor’ contestant and his husband stood in for regular hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on ‘This Morning’ and though it was an “honour” to front the show, the couple have no plans to present together any more.
Asked if they would do it again, Rylan said: “Absolutely not, no. I loved it and we were really honoured to be the first same-sex couple to do that but I love the fact my relationship is private.
“We’re working together on stuff but Dan does bits behind the scenes.
“Everyone knows we’re married but I don’t want to rub it in people’s faces. You row, you love, you laugh, you cry. It’s a normal relationship and exactly what I want.”
