Bob Dylan and Neil Young to co-headline Barclaycard presents BST Hyde Park

OHMYGOSSIP — Bob Dylan and Neil Young will appear as co-headliners at next year’s Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park festival.
The legendary musicians – who have shared a stage many times previously, beginning in 1976 at a farewell show for Dylan’s backing band – will take to the stage on July 12 though it’s not yet clear in which order they will play.
Speaking of the incredible joint booking, James King – Senior Vice President of AEG Presents, organisers of the concert series – said: “Barclaycard presents British Summer Time has always tried to deliver the greatest possible one off live experiences for music fans in London and being able to bring together two of the biggest cultural icons together for this historic day of music counts as possibly the biggest event we have ever delivered in Hyde Park.”
Young, 73, previously topped the bill at the annual event back in 2014 with his backing band Crazy Horse.
The pair have a long-standing history and ‘Old Man’ singer Young previously describing Dylan, 77, as the master of the songwriting craft.
He said: “I’ll never be Bob Dylan. He’s the master. If I’d like to be anyone, it’s him.”
‘Blowin’ In The Wind’ singer Dylan has always recognised the similarities in their pair’s early folk work and he once joked it “bothered” him when Young had a hit with ‘Heart of Gold’ which shared many of the hallmarks of his acoustic style.
Speaking to Uncut magazine in 2016, Dylan said: “The only time it bothered me that someone sounded like me was when I was living in Phoenix, Arizona, in about ’72 and the big song at the time was ‘Heart of Gold’. I used to hate it when it came on the radio. I always liked Neil Young, but it bothered me every time I listened to ‘Heart of Gold’. I think it was up at number one for a long time, and I’d say, ‘S**t, that’s me. If it sounds like me, it should as well be me.’ ”

Classical music fan Ellie Goulding

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Goulding’s new album is inspired by classical music.
The 31-year-old pop star is set to release her first record since taking a break from music in 2015 and by having that time off she has been “able to experiment and relax” for the first time and immersed herself in classical music whilst writing her fresh collection of songs.
Speaking on the George Ezra & Friends podcast, she said: “I’ve been listening to classical music; I have Classic FM on all the time. This is the first time the album has gone through different stages
“I keep writing, I’ll write three or four songs and then love them as one and then go listen to another artist or classical music and decide to go down a completely different road.
“It was 2015 when I released my latest record. It’s been all over the place and for the first time, I’ve been able to experiment and relax. I also reached out to a rapper to feature on my latest song.”
The ‘Love Me Like You Do’ hitmaker went on to confess that despite her massive fame, she was lonely at the beginning of her career and struggled to be taken seriously as an artist.
She explained: “I played guitar better than any of the blokes in my music class but that obviously wasn’t enough to make me a rock star.
“Quite a few music articles written about me would say, ‘She’s not really a rock star or cool,’ because I would talk about running and trying to keep my head together. Thank god now there’s more emphasis on talking about your mental health and anxiety, but back then I was taken the piss out of so much for being this running nerd.”

Mel B: Simon Cowell and Spice Girls were my rock

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel B says Simon Cowell was her “rock” during her tough times.
The Spice Girls star has opened up about the alleged abuse she suffered in her marriage to Stephen Belafonte and how it left her feeling suicidal, and she has credited the ‘America’s Got Talent’ boss and her bandmates with helping her through.
After ‘Heart Breakfast Show’ host Jamie Theakston asked about a reference in her new book ‘Brutally Honest’ to earning £80 million over two decades, she opened up on the impact money can have on a relationship.
She said: “I was married for 10 years and most of my work is in America and Australia so you know aside from my lovely Spice Girls, I am quite an independent money earner and I love earning money.
“And that’s also a form of control, also for your partner because they put you out to work so you can’t think straight.
“But luckily I love what I do and I love my work and that’s why I’m so happy – you know people like Simon Cowell – even though the girls didn’t quite realise it also – they were very much my rock in the midst of all of this. But they didn’t know the truth because I was embarrassed.”
Jamie’s co-star – and Mel’s bandmate – Emma Bunton praised the candid memoir and admitted it left her in tears.
She added: “It’s amazing. I cried through the whole thing by the way. And then Mummy Bunton read a bit yesterday and cried, I was like ‘Oh my goodness’ – it’s just heart breaking.”
Mel, 43, has been outspoken about her relationship with manager and ex-husband stephen, who has “denied all the allegations against him”.
The star – who has Phoenix, 19, with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar, Angel, 11, with Eddie Murphy, and seven-year-old Madison with Stephen – admitted earlier this month she attempted suicide at her lowest point four years ago, and she was motivated by her eldest child to work on getting better.
Reflecting on waking up in hospital after an overdose, she wrote in the book: “‘Mom. What the hell?’ Phoenix was standing by my bed. Furious, shaking, full of rage. Of all the memories from all those hours, it is the one that still floors me. ‘Why, Mum? Why? Why?’ It was the saddest moment of my life.
“All I ever want is for her to know how sorry I am, how lost I was and how I’ll never, ever abandon her again.
“Looking at my daughter — distraught, devastated, angry — was the moment I knew the fightback had to start.”

James Wan: Aquaman is not a traditional superhero film

OHMYGOSSIP — James Wan says ‘Aquaman’ is “different” to a “traditional” superhero film.
The 41-year-old filmmaker has created an underwater world to bring the unique DC Comics character to life on the big screen and because of the sea setting he believes it is more like a fantasy film.
Speaking at the world premiere of the DC Extended Universe blockbuster in London on Monday night (26.11.18), Wan said: “I don’t have necessarily one favourite scene or sequences, I have a lot of them and I enjoy all of them. Making this movie was tough, it was such a pain to make it. A big part of the fun was designing the world, creating a lot of the different visuals and things we haven’t seen before. It plays different to your traditional superhero film, if anything it plays more like an action/adventure fantasy film and I think the movie is unique for that.”
‘Aquaman’ contains an A-list cast that features Jason Momoa as the aquatic superhero – also known as Arthur Curry – Amber Heard (Mera), Dolph Lundgren (King Nereus), Patrick Wilson (Ocean Master) and Nicole Kidman (Atlanna), and will hit the big screen on December 14 in the UK, and a week later on December 21 in the US.
When Wan first met 39-year-old Momoa – who appeared as Aquaman in ‘Justice League’ – he was blown-away by his “charisma” and it made him excited to think about what they could achieve together on screen.
Wan said: “Listen, when I first met Jason, I was like, ‘Man this guy is full of charisma, so charismatic, I’m going to have to bring that out on screen!’ He’s great, Jason’s been such a trooper, and it’s at tough movie to shoot. I put my actors through really rigorous, technical processes to simulate the underwater look. Everyone just did such a great job and Jason is such a physical guy and he really gets in there and is passionate about it and he really makes Aquaman his own. I’ve just been so lucky to be able to assemble such a great team, they bring so much weight to the film and they’re the beating heart of the movie.”

Amber Heard loves her ‘badass’ Aquaman character

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Heard was instantly “sold” on playing her ‘Aquaman’ character when she found out she would be a “”badass warrior queen”.
The 32-year-old actress plays Mera in the James Wan-directed superhero flick and the star revealed at the world premiere of the DC Extended Universe movie in London on Monday night (26.11.18) that she loves the fact the movie is “modern” and she plays a strong character who is not a “damsel in distress”.
Amber said: “Mera’s a badass woman. When I first got introduced to her, I was sold on the fact she was a warrior queen and I asked, ‘Do I get a sword and a crown? Yeah I’ll get behind that!’
“I like that this movie is modern, Mera’s not a damsel in distress she is a badass superhero in her own right.”
Mera is the love interest of the titular hero Arthur Curry – played by Jason Momoa – and she possesses hydrokinetic and telepathic powers that allow her to control her aquatic environment and communicate with other members of the Atlantean race.
And Amber loved every moment of working alongside Momoa, 39, on the highly-anticipated blockbuster, and admitted his “energy” helped her get through the tough hours and long days.
She said: “I could not have asked for a better co-star, his energy and his enthusiasm and his joy is contagious and infection and you need that, not only in this character or as a person but in sets when you’re filming for 18 hours a day for seven months at a time.
“It can be gruelling but we have a really natural rapport and I think that came across on screen.”

Joe Alwyn wants to keep personal life private

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Alwyn insists he has no obligation to talk about Taylor Swift.
The ‘Favourite’ actor has been dating the ‘Shake It Off’ singer for around two years but they rarely speak about their romance and the 27-year-old star plans to stay quiet for as long as possible.
He told Britain’s GQ magazine: “Someone’s private life is, by definition, private. No one is obliged to share their personal life.”
Both Joe and Taylor caused a stir in May when they shared very similar Instagram posts featuring the same giant cactus, but the British star insists it wasn’t a deliberate move to make their romance official on social media.
Asked if they had shared the photos on purpose, he said: “No. I didn’t even think of that until I was in New York and someone else mentioned it. No, no [it wasn’t on purpose]! It wasn’t purposeful at all!”
Joe is still living in North London but wouldn’t confirm “exactly where” as he is no longer living with his parents.
But he admitted: “I still go there.”
And the ‘Boy Erased’ star wouldn’t even reveal which of his girlfriend’s songs is his favourite.
He replied: “I’m just not even going to go into that side of the world.”
Last month, Joe made some rare comments about the 28-year-old singer when he praised her for speaking about on politics for the first time when she endorsed two Democratic candidates and encouraged her followers to vote early.
Asked about Taylor’s new political stance, he told a reporter: “I think it’s great, I think it’s important.”

Georgia Toff won’t return to I’m A Celeb to crown the next winner

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Toffolo will not return to the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ jungle to crown the next champion.
Although the reigning Queen of the Jungle will be flying out to Australia to shoot short spin-off show ‘Extra Camp’ this week she intends to return to the UK shortly after and has “no plans to go back” to personally pass on the crown to this year’s winner.
A source told the Mail Online: “There’s still about another week of the show left after she returns. And there aren’t plans for her to go back again. This means she won’t be there to personally crown whoever wins this current season.”
Another insider explained that the reality show has not actually broken tradition as they claim to have “never specifically” had a winner come back to Australia to crown the new winner and say the last few times have been purely coincidental.
The insider told The Sun Online: “Since the show began in 2002 it’s never been part of the main show to have the previous winner specifically come back to Australia and hand over to new King/Queen.
“It only happened the past two years because Scarlett [Moffatt] and Vicki [Pattison] were already presenters of the spin-off show.
“ITV2 used to have the previous year’s winner on their show for the final so Foggy [Carl Fogarty] and Charlie [Brooks] were there and also handed over the crown.
“ITV2 hasn’t had celebrity guests for their final show for quite a few years now.”
Despite the absence from the final, Georgia still boasts strong ties with the show and is currently one of the ‘I’m a Celebrity’ reporters on ITV’s ‘This Morning’.

Corrie’s Brian Packham bullying misery

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’s’ Brian Packham is set to question his future in teaching as Phil Gillespie’s bullying leaves him “vulnerable”.
Peter Gunn plays the beloved character who has been placed under intense pressure by Deputy head teacher Phil Gillespie (Tom Turner) since his return to Bessie Street School, including telling him that if the school’s nativity production goes wrong he could be made redundant.
And things aren’t going to get better for Brian anytime soon as the bullying escalates.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine about his tough time, Peter said: “The bullying is ongoing – but it’s been interesting showing Brian’s vulnerability. Workplace bullies are a real issue for a lot of people, and there are occasions when you think, ‘poor lad – if only he’d speak up!’ Brian comes across as a buffoon, so it’s good we’re showing the different side to him. He has a journey ahead, and how it all ends is interesting – I won’t say much more though!
Next week viewers will see Brian – who is in a relationship with Cathy Matthews (Melanie Hill) on the cobbles – miss a crucial staff meeting because after pulling a work all-nighter after Phil heats up the pressure by fabricating the urgency of upcoming deadlines.
Opening up about if Brian has a happy Christmas to look forward too, Phil added: “To be honest, I woke up in a few cold sweats about what happens to him over Christmas! Bullying is a serious issue, but in true Brian style, there’s some slapstick in store – and some stunts!
“I can only tease what happens by saying that Brian is somewhat hoist by his own petard.”

Helen Flanagan says she was worst I’m A Celeb contestant

OHMYGOSSIP — Coronation Street’s Helen Flanagan believes she was the “worst ever” ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ contestant.
The 28-year-old soap star has recalled her stint on the twelfth popular ITV reality television show in 2012 – in which she finished in seventh place – and although she’ll always be grateful to have been given the opportunity to test herself in the jungle she accepts that her dismal displays in most of the Bushtucker Trials means that she has got to be one of the stars who was the least suited to the gruelling series.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: “It’s such a great show and it was so cool to be a part of it, although I was rubbish at it – probably the worst ever. I found it so difficult and could never do it again. I think I was a warning to other people who thought it could be an easy ride. I remember my mum called me up the night before I went into camp and said, ‘It’s not too late to back out.'”
Helen struggled in most of the Bushtucker Trials and failed to win a single star to get a meal for her campmates in her first five challenges.
That year, ‘EastEnders’ actress Charlie Brooks was crowned Queen of the Jungle, with ex-Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts finishing runner-up and former world heavyweight champion David Haye coming third.

Mel B claims Geri Horner has lied about her age

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel B says that Geri Horner is older than she claims.
The 43-year-old singer – who is currently preparing for a highly anticipated Spice Girls reunion tour with Ginger Spice – thinks her bandmate is lying about her documented age of 46, insisting “she’s faked it in the past” and doesn’t think “anybody really knows how old she is”.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’, she said: “The thing is Geri has hidden her age for the most part of being a Spice Girl, and when I think about it I still don’t know how old Geri is. That would be the running joke, and I’m sure maybe she’s faked it in the past, I’m not sure, but I don’t think anybody really knows how old she is.
“You can Google it but I think she’s probably given people the wrong age.”
Mel B is currently promoting her new autobiography ‘Brutally Honest’, a tell-all insight into her career and relationships and the book details her toxic ten-year marriage to producer Stephen Belafonte, whom she is now divorced from.
The memoir documents how Mel tried to cope as she lived with the allegedly physically and emotionally abusive former spouse and although she is not “actively looking” for love following the break-up, the singer has admitted that she’s open to a new relationship.
The ‘Stop’ hitmaker – who has daughter Phoenix, 19, with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar, Angel, 11, with Eddie Murphy, and seven-year-old Madison with Stephen – said: “I’m not actively looking, but I won’t say that I’m not looking for a relationship, I do like being by myself. My kids are everything. People are telling me to go on dating sites, but I feel it’s too forced. My ex wasn’t nice, so I need to rejig my brain to find out what normal is. I’m used to verbal abuse and being put down.”
