Amber Heard loves her ‘badass’ Aquaman character

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Heard was instantly “sold” on playing her ‘Aquaman’ character when she found out she would be a “”badass warrior queen”.
The 32-year-old actress plays Mera in the James Wan-directed superhero flick and the star revealed at the world premiere of the DC Extended Universe movie in London on Monday night (26.11.18) that she loves the fact the movie is “modern” and she plays a strong character who is not a “damsel in distress”.
Amber said: “Mera’s a badass woman. When I first got introduced to her, I was sold on the fact she was a warrior queen and I asked, ‘Do I get a sword and a crown? Yeah I’ll get behind that!’
“I like that this movie is modern, Mera’s not a damsel in distress she is a badass superhero in her own right.”
Mera is the love interest of the titular hero Arthur Curry – played by Jason Momoa – and she possesses hydrokinetic and telepathic powers that allow her to control her aquatic environment and communicate with other members of the Atlantean race.
And Amber loved every moment of working alongside Momoa, 39, on the highly-anticipated blockbuster, and admitted his “energy” helped her get through the tough hours and long days.
She said: “I could not have asked for a better co-star, his energy and his enthusiasm and his joy is contagious and infection and you need that, not only in this character or as a person but in sets when you’re filming for 18 hours a day for seven months at a time.
“It can be gruelling but we have a really natural rapport and I think that came across on screen.”

Joe Alwyn wants to keep personal life private

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Alwyn insists he has no obligation to talk about Taylor Swift.
The ‘Favourite’ actor has been dating the ‘Shake It Off’ singer for around two years but they rarely speak about their romance and the 27-year-old star plans to stay quiet for as long as possible.
He told Britain’s GQ magazine: “Someone’s private life is, by definition, private. No one is obliged to share their personal life.”
Both Joe and Taylor caused a stir in May when they shared very similar Instagram posts featuring the same giant cactus, but the British star insists it wasn’t a deliberate move to make their romance official on social media.
Asked if they had shared the photos on purpose, he said: “No. I didn’t even think of that until I was in New York and someone else mentioned it. No, no [it wasn’t on purpose]! It wasn’t purposeful at all!”
Joe is still living in North London but wouldn’t confirm “exactly where” as he is no longer living with his parents.
But he admitted: “I still go there.”
And the ‘Boy Erased’ star wouldn’t even reveal which of his girlfriend’s songs is his favourite.
He replied: “I’m just not even going to go into that side of the world.”
Last month, Joe made some rare comments about the 28-year-old singer when he praised her for speaking about on politics for the first time when she endorsed two Democratic candidates and encouraged her followers to vote early.
Asked about Taylor’s new political stance, he told a reporter: “I think it’s great, I think it’s important.”

Blake Shelton can’t believe how ‘gorgeous’ Gwen Stefani is

OHMYGOSSIP — Blake Shelton says Gwen Stefani is always “gorgeous”.
The 42-year-old star has gushed over his partner’s beauty and claimed she always looks her best no matter what the occasion.
After ‘The Voice’ co-star Jennifer Hudson praised Gwen’s appearance in the video for loved-up duet ‘You Make It Feel Like Christmas’, Blake added: “How gorgeous does she look all the time?
“It’s unbelievable. Right now, wherever she is, she looks gorgeous, whatever she’s doing.”
The couple are currently planning for their own Christmas celebrations, and the star admitted it was going to let the ‘Hollaback Girl’ hitmaker decide on their plans for the festive season.
He said: “She normally just tells me what we’re doing. So, I couldn’t tell you what they are, [but] just wherever she is, I’ll be there.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Rich Girl’ singer – who has Kingston, 12, Zuma, 10, and Apollo, four, with former husband Gavin Rossdale – recently credited Blake, 42, for “inspiring” her to “change”, and praised him for being an “amazing all-round human”.
She said: “He’s my homeboy. He’s my homey. He’s just really an amazing all-around human so I feel so grateful for that. I celebrate him in the show! He’s inspired me so much. He’s changed my life.”
She previously confessed that she has been “unlucky in love” in the past but is lucky to now have Blake.
She said: “When I was a little girl, I had this plan that I was going to be a mom and have a bunch of kids and be a wife and have that perfect family. That’s something I dreamed of for a long time.
“But my own love life experience wasn’t what I thought it would be. I feel I had so much love to give inside me, but I was unlucky in love, which has been a blessing, because I’ve been able to write about that and share that and have this friendly, blessed musical career.
“But there was a point in my life where I felt like I was losing everything. I mean, there’s unlucky in love, but then there’s unlucky in love and I lost my ability to have any confidence – not just about songwriting, but about everything. My hopes and my dreams. I was actually losing myself.”

Nikki Bella not planning love reunion

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Bella has no plans to reunite with John Cena, despite posting a romantic photo of them last week.
The ‘Total Bellas’ star fuelled speculation she was back with her former fiance on Thanksgiving (22.11.18) when she shared a photo of them cuddling in a hot tub and watching the sunset on her Instagram account, but insiders told TMZ she was simply “reminiscing” and “reflecting” on the previous 12 months.
Sources claimed Nikki was looking back on what she was thankful for and the ‘Blockers’ actor – whose photo appeared in one of a selection of various people in her life – was a part of that, despite them ending their relationship just weeks before they were due to tie the knot.
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old wrestler recently admitted she isn’t “ready” to date again because she’s still trying to “heal” following the end of her relationship with the 41-year-old hunk.
She said last month: “It feels like, you know, when you get married and the next day people are like, ‘When are you having kids?’ and it’s like, ‘I just got married.’ I feel like it’s the same thing. When you become single, it’s like, ‘Oh, are you dating?!’ Honestly, I’m so not interested. I’m just not ready yet. I’m trying to heal, and I’m not healed yet.”
And the brunette beauty has found it hard processing the break-up because she’s in the public eye.
She said: “It’s extremely difficult. I get text messages all of the time whether or not I am okay, or hey, my friend saw this headline and wanted to know if it was true; it’s non-stop, and it is definitely hard, but that is why with Total Bellas me and Brie are such an open book whether you like it or not, but we know how many people are going to sit on that couch and relate to us because some of them are going through the same stuff.”

Joan Collins has ‘moved on’ after sister Jackie’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Joan Collins has got over her grief of losing sister Jackie three years ago.
The ‘Dynasty’ star’s sibling tragically passed away just two weeks before her 78th birthday in 2015 following a battle with breast cancer, and now the 85-year-old actress has opened up about how she still remembers Jackie.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Woman’s Hour’, she said: “I love my sister. I still have pictures.
“Whenever I’m with her daughters we reminisce about Jackie and all the wonderful times and what a great person she was… But, to use my least favourite expression, I’ve moved on.”
Previously, Joan has candidly spoken about the stages of grief she has gone through, including “two or three months” where she couldn’t stop crying, before she tried to “accept it” and later became “angry”.
She said in 2016: “I miss her terribly. I have talked about it. Grief is process.
“I think I cried for two or three months then you get over it and accept it in a begrudging way. Then you get angry like why did this happen to her.”
Joan was speaking just before the first anniversary of Jackie’s passing, and she revealed one thing she had been trying in an effort to help with the process of grieving.
She said: “There’s no good thing about it but the way around it is thinking of it like we are just in different places, as if she’s just in LA.”
At the same time, she also promised to help her friend Sir Cliff Richard deal with the loss of his own sister Donna Goulden, who passed away in 2016.
She said: “I miss (Jackie) every day. We were very close. Obviously it’s been a tough year.
“(Cliff) is a lovely, lovely man and a good friend. We went to stay with him in Barbados last year and I’ve known him for over 30 years. I’m there for Cliff, I know what he’s going through.”

Amber Heard: Abused women are shamed

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Heard thinks women are met with “hostility and shame” when they speak up about abuse.
The ‘Aquaman’ actress – who accused ex-husband Johnny Depp of being violent towards her when they split in May 2016 – insists people constantly try to discredit or explain away allegations made against men.
She said: “When a woman comes forward, she will be met with skepticism, hostility, and shame. All a man has to do is point to an incentive. He will. Or society will.”
But Amber is determined to speak out as much as she can to raise awareness to the causes she supports.
She said: “My job provides me with a platform. Silence is complacency.”
The 32-year-old star still believes there is a long way to go when it comes to addressing gender inequality and the pay gap in Hollywood.
She told America’s Glamour magazine: We get paid less as women, and we end up spending more time on set, because of hair and make-up demands…we’re working in an inherently flawed system.”
The ‘London Fields’ actress insists the way people react to her good looks is not her “responsibility” and she can express her sexuality however she wants.
She said: “I’ve done the best I could without the luxury of being picky.
“There’s an implicit apology expected of me for my participation in feminine beauty, but I can’t play into this false narrative that my sexuality is mutually exclusive from my power.
“My physical appearance, no matter how it affects others, is solely the responsibility of people around me. You know, male characters in movies included. It is their responsibility, not a woman’s.
“My sexuality, my femininity, in whatever way I want to express it, is mine and my own.”

Lisa Hammond’s swipe at EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Hammond has written a play that seemingly slams ‘EastEnders’ for giving her limited storylines as a disabled actress.
The 35-year-old star’s new production, ‘Still No Idea’, features a disabled actress trying to make it big on TV and it’s been seen as a dig at the soap for the fact her character Donna Yates had few storylines as Lisa felt she was only cast on the programme because she has restricted growth condition pseudoachondroplasia and uses a wheelchair.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Lisa was unhappy about her time on the show and felt that she didn’t get enough storylines.
“So when she left she poured her energy into writing a play about her experiences.
“She doesn’t name ‘EastEnders’ specifically, but it’s clearly about it.
“There’s even a joke in the play about how bosses attempt to give her a normal storyline – suggesting she unearths the identity of her father … to be played by dwarf actor Warwick Davis.
“At another point she makes a gag about how bosses thought she could only be friends with characters who had accessible houses.”
Lisa – who left her role as the market trader earlier this year after four years on screen – created ‘Still No Idea’ with her friend Rachael Spence to emphasise that while there are more disabled people in the mainstream media, disabled actors still experience huge amounts of discrimination and there is much progress to be made.
The pair’s other recent work together includes the Channel4 TV comedy ‘Lowdown’ and theatre project ‘Old Street/New Street.’
‘Still No Idea’ – which blends theatre, improvisation and comedy sketches – is touring across the country this autumn.

Mel B keeps cut out ex tattoo in a jar

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel B has confessed she keeps the surgically removed tattoo tribute to her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte in a jar.
The Spice Girls star had the words “Stephen, till death do us part you own my heart” etched across the flesh on the left side of her body running up her rib cage, but following her split and subsequent divorce from Stephen she got her doctor friend to cut his name from her torso.
Mel, 43, admits it seems like a drastic decision but she wanted to remove all trace of her allegedly abusive ex from her person and she now keeps the flesh in a container placed at the top of wardrobe.
Appearing on ‘Loose Women’ on Tuesday (27.11.18), she revealed: “A lot of my surgery was to do with getting out of my abusive relationship. It was almost like a cleanse. I just wanted to feel fresh and new again and untouched by that person.’
“It sounds horrific, but what I went through was so horrific. This one particular tattoo that my ex had forced me to have was ‘Stephen until death do us part, you own my heart.’ I just thought I can’t go through the pain of getting it lasered so I convinced a doctor to cut it off my body. I’ve saved it in a jar. It’s at the top of my wardrobe. I know it’s there.”
Mel – who required 13 stitches for the wound – compared the tattoo slicing to the experience rape victims go through when they feel the compulsion to wash away any trace of the person who violated them.
The ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge added: “It’s like if you’re a rape victim the first thing you want to do is get in a bath and wash everything off you. I didn’t want to have any remnants of him on me.”
Mel filed for divorce from Stephen in March 2017 after 10 years of marriage, accusing him of physical and emotional abuse, claims he has always denied.
They divorce was granted in December 2017 with them both sharing custody of their seven-year-old daughter Madison.
Mel also has 19-year-old daughter Phoenix from her relationship with her first husband Jimmy Gulzar and Angel, 11, whom she had with Eddie Murphy.

Shane Richie feels like he never left EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Shane Richie feels like he never left ‘EastEnders’.
The 54-year-old actor has reprised his role as Alfie Moon following a two-year break and not only does he feel like little has changed in his absence, some people hadn’t even noticed he’d gone.
He told Inside Soap magazine: “I don’t know how long I’ve been away, but the first day I’ve got back, there were a couple of people who said, ‘Where did you go?’ Like I’d just had a long holiday or something!
“It really is like I’ve not been away. It’s the same faces – not necessarily the same cast, but the same crew, wardrobe, make-up and management.
“It’s like stepping on to a Ferris wheel.
“It’s going round and round, and occasionally some people step on and others step off. And with the Slaters all being together again, stepping into the whole madness of that has been great, but full-on.”
Alfie is returning with a new job as a funeral director and Shane promised it will provide a new source of dark humour for the soap.
He said: “Yes, there are some heavy scenes going on – and then his phone will ring while he’s having a row with someone, and he’ll have to say, “Blue Moon Funerals – a good way to go!
“So it was nice playing the comedy with the tragedy.”
And Alfie – who already has twin sons Bert and Ernie with his estranged wife Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) – will step up when he discovers he’s the father of Hayley Slater’s (Katie Jarvis) daughter.
He said: “Alfie realises this is his daughter, and you see him change.
“His paternal instincts kick in very quickly, and he takes on board being the father of this child.”

Corrie fans demand Sally Metcalfe is freed from jail

OHMYGOSSIP — Furious ‘Coronation Street’ fans have threatened to boycott the ITV soap following Sally Metcalfe’s guilty verdict.
Viewers were left stunned on Monday evening (26.11.18) when Sally – played by Sally Dynevor – was found guilty of fraud, money laundering and bribery after being framed for the crimes by dicey Duncan Radfield (Nicholas Gleaves).
‘Corrie’ viewers were so angered by the gross miscarriage of justice that some have now taken to Twitter to slam the storyline and demand Sally’s freedom by starting a Twitter trend to #FreeSally – in what is similar to the ‘Free Deirdre’ campaign which was launched back in 1998 when Deirdre Rachid (also Barlow) was wrongly imprisoned for fraud.
One Twitter user ranted: “I know it’s just a soap and I shouldn’t get so annoyed but this Sally storyline in Corrie is just ridiculous and is actually making me so mad. Just set her free it’s a joke!! #freesally #corrie (sic)”
Another enraged viewer said: “#Corrie The Sally guilty storyline is so horrible, that I am boycotting Coronation Street until Sally is released! Great story writing by the scrip writers, but sick and twisted story lines in the name of drama! #sadTV (sic)”
One user couldn’t help compare the plights of Sally and Deridre – played by the late Anne Kirkbride – and even suggested making shirts which insist Sally be freed immediately.
He wrote: “This is like Deirdre all over again, we need tee shirts. (sic)”
The ‘Free Deirdre’ campaign had such an impact that even the UK Prime Minister at the time, Tony Blair, vouched for the character, insisting she was not guilty of credit card fraud after being swindled by her conman boyfriend Jon Lindsay and stating that “anyone with eyes in their head” could see she was innocent.

The 1975’s Matty Healy didn’t want to sing about heroin addiction before he got clean

OHMYGOSSIP — Matty Healy only sang about his drug addiction because he got clean.
The 1975 frontman has admitted he didn’t want to write about his issues with substance abuse – which he opened up about on new track ‘It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)’ – while he was going through it because he didn’t feel he’d have enough to say.
Detailing each song on new LP ‘A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships’, the star told Pitchfork magazine: “I wouldn’t have written about heroin unless I had gotten clean. ‘I do it’ was never a good enough reason for me to talk about it.
“I don’t think Kurt Cobain tried to romanticise drug addiction; because he was so publicly the coolest person in the world, and grunge was so dark, he was telling his truth. Whereas Pete Doherty was a different character.
“That was the thing that I was always scared of: being an obnoxious celebration of that kind of sickness. I just felt so lucky. I hadn’t lost anything really. And that’s normally why people go to rehab, because they lost so much they can’t bear to lose anything else. But I was lucky.”
Matty – the son of ‘Loose Women’ star Denise Welch – admitted he decided to write about his own experiences with heroin through a character named Danny on the new track, even if it’s “obvious” it’s autobiographical.
He added: “I think I’m trying to consciously hide it behind being somebody else, writing about their struggle and their strife.
“Like, ‘So I’ve got this friend, right? And he’s got this really weird rash on his gooch?’ [laughs] That kind of vibe. So it’s like, ‘Well tell your friend that he should…’
“But it’s quite obvious it’s about me, because there’s been a real reluctance for me to talk about it. I didn’t want to talk about being a heroin addict for five years – having actual nightmares of the idea of it being uncovered. So there was a humorous reluctance to disclose it in this song.”

Kym Marsh’s puppy poo problem

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ star Kym Marsh is sick of cleaning up her puppy’s poo.
The 42-year-old actress loves her new pooch, who she has named Rico, but she is growing tired of constantly having to mop up his wee and bag his faeces, whilst he has a fondness to chew her seven-year-old daughter Polly’s toy dolls.
Writing in her weekly OK! magazine column, she said: “Our new puppy, Rico, is still settling in nicely. He isn’t fully vaccinated so he can’t get out just yet. I’m getting a bit fed up of cleaning up wee and poo, but he is getting better. He’s a bit of a nutter and loves to chew things. I keep catching him with Polly’s dolls in his mouth.”
Rico – who is a long-haired black, brown and white Chihuahua – is named after Barry Manilow’s hit song ‘Copacabana’ which tells the story of a mobster called Rico who takes a fancy to a showgirl named Lola.
The former Hear’Say pop star thought the moniker would be fitting as she already has a short-haired Chihuahua called Lola along with a King Charles spaniel called Barney, and she says the pooch pair are both bonding well with their new mutt mate.
Kym – who has been playing Michelle Connor on the ITV soap for over 10 years – previously admitted that she hadn’t planned to introduce another dog into her home in Cheshire, but couldn’t resist when she was told about the adorable puppy by friends.
The TV star – who is in a relationship with Scott Ratcliffe – said: “I had a real softie moment and said, ‘I want him.’ ”

Amanda Bynes got depressed after She’s The Man

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Bynes fell into a “deep depression” because of her appearance in ‘She’s The Man’.
The 32-year-old actress portrayed Viola Johnson, who posed as her twin brother Sebastian in the 2006 movie and she admitted she was horrified by how she looked as a boy with short hair and sideburns and it led to an “interesting experience” where she went “into a funk”.
She admitted: “It was an interesting experience [afterwards]. When the movie came out and I saw it, I went into a deep depression for four to six months because I didn’t like how I looked when I was a boy.
“I’ve never told anyone that.
“[It was] a super strange and out-of-body experience. It just really put me into a funk.”
The movie, a modern version of Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’, also starred a then-unknown Channing Tatum and Amanda is proud of her role in helping making him a star.
She told Paper magazine’s Break the Internet issue: “I totally fought for Channing [to get cast in] that movie because he wasn’t famous yet. He’d just done a Mountain Dew commercial and I was like, ‘This guy’s a star — every girl will love him!’
“But [the producers] were like, ‘He’s so much older than all of you!’ And I was like, ‘It doesn’t matter! Trust me!’ ”
After her work on ‘She’s The Man’, Amanda was then cast in ‘Hairspray’ and working on the musical with the likes of Zac Efron and John Travolta remains her favourite ever filming experience.
She said: “That movie to this day was the most amazing experience I’ve ever had on a set.”
The ‘Easy A’ star got her big break when she was cast in Nickelodeon sketch series ‘All That’ in 2006 and she admitted the job was a “dream come true”.

Willow Smith shaved head because she was ‘over it’

OHMYGOSSIP — Willow Smith doesn’t feel she “rebelled” when she shaved her hair off at the age of 12.
The 18-year-old singer-and-actress – who is the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett- Smith – rose to fame at the age of 10 with her song ‘Whip My Hair’ and later made the drastic choice to lose her locks during her tour of the same name.
The ‘I Am Legend’ star confessed she made the change because she was “just over it” and thought the track was a symbol for “doing whatever you want” and had nothing to do with hair anyway.
In an interview with InStyle, she said: “I was just over it; the truth of the song is ‘Do want you want;’ it doesn’t actually have to do with hair. ‘Whip your hair’ is just a symbol for doing whatever you want.
“So in a way, I feel like it wasn’t even a rebellion because the song was saying that, and I was doing whatever I wanted and just being wild — but obviously, it was a rebellion to people who thought it meant something different.
“I was just over it; I was literally so done and said, ‘I’m going to show people that I’m not attached to this.’ ”
Willow has now grown her hair back and admitted that she feels her look is a “rebellion” in itself as “just being a young black woman with natural hair” does not adhere to conventional beauty standards.
She explained: “I look different than most girls who are featured in editorial magazines and fashion and all of that. So I feel all of that, just being a young black woman with natural hair. Those things are a rebellion in themselves.”

Sir Cliff Richard will never retire from music

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Cliff Richard will “never retire.”
The 78-year-old singer – who has been making records since the 1950s – has slowed down and reduced his touring schedule, but will never give up music completely.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘Loose Women’, he said: “The word ‘retire’… I don’t think that’s in my vocabulary.
“What I plan to do is what I’ve done now, really.
“I’ve slowed, I’ve made it a level area – I don’t tour for five or six months the way I used to.
“I can come back with my band – they’re all friends of mine.
“We dine together, we stay in the same hotels, we do shows and people come and enjoy themselves.”
The legendary singer spoke about how relieved he was when he successfully sued the BBC for a gross invasion of privacy in July – after they live broadcasted a police raid on his home after historic allegations of sexual assault surfaced.
Cliff – who was awarded £210,000 in damages in July – was never arrested or charged during the police investigation and he admitted the settlement made him feel he’d finally got “justice”.
He said: “The minute it was cleared away from me, I was so relieved.
“I couldn’t punch the air, I didn’t feel triumphant, I just felt justice at last!”
The ‘Bachelor Boy’ hitmaker is currently promoting his new album, ‘Rise Up’, and said that he feels his new record has helped him re-establish himself as an artist and helped him embark on a positive direction.
He commented: “I think with an album it’s a chance for the artist to take themselves and the audience somewhere else.”
