Taron Egerton never thought he’d be an action hero

OHMYGOSSIP — Taron Egerton never thought he’d become an action hero.
The ‘Kingsman’ star admits he would have never believed he would be doing action movies because they can be “quite gruelling and physical”.
He said: “I don’t think I scream action hero. I certainly enjoy it, but it’s very hard work, and I often think it can be more fun to watch than it is to do, just in the sense that it can be quite gruelling and physical. For me I have to alter my body shape because I don’t keep myself in incredible shape all year round. Not that I’m in incredible shape now, but I’m okay.”
And the 29-year-old actor believes his role as Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin in ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ helped him land a part in ‘Robin Hood’.
He added: “When they were considering people, they needed someone who had some experience of being physical as it’s a very physical role. I certainly felt that walking into this I had had some experience of action and stunt work, and it served me well … I’ve done my thousand hours of that now.”
Whilst the movie looked fun to shoot, Taron admits it wasn’t as easy as it looked.
He told Sky News: “We were in Hungary in the middle of winter and it’s tough. Making that kind of movie, it looks fun but actually you’ve got horses, you’ve got bows and arrows, you’ve got stuff going on, and it’s a lot of moving pieces and you’re always pushing the budget to the max and you’re always stretched.”

BRITs Critics’ Choice nominees revealed

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi has been nominated for Critics’ Choice at the BRIT Awards 2019.
The winner of the prestigious annual prize – which has previously been won by the likes of Adele, Sam Smith and Rag’n’Bone Man – will be announced on December 7, and the young singer-songwriter is on the shortlist alongside Mahalia and Sam Fender.
Lewis – who will hit the road with Bastille in February – said: “Absolutely honoured to have been shortlisted for this year’s BRITs Critics’ Choice award alongside two unreal artists.
“Genuinely cannot believe I’m being included in something like this and do not think I’ve done enough to be deserving of it!
“That being said, from here on in I will insist that those around me, including my mother and father, refer to me only as ‘BRITS Critics’ Choice Award Nominee, Lewis Capaldi.’ ”
Mahalia – who has supported the likes of Ed Sheeran and last year’s recipient Jorja Smith on tour – admitted it was the pinnacle of a whirlwind year.
She added: “I can’t believe it. I’m truly honoured to be nominated for the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award. The last year has been surreal to say the least but this really is the cherry on top. Thank you so much to all those who voted for me.”
For fellow nominee Sam – who recently released his debut EP ‘Dead Boys’ – it marks a dream come true after growing up watching the BRITs each year as a child.
He said: “I’ve been watching the BRITs since I was a child, and my brother would let me stay up and watch them live; so to be nominated for the Critics’ Choice award is crazy. What an honour! A big thank you to anyone who has put their faith in my music.”
The winner – who is chosen by an invited panel of music editors and critics of national press and online music editors, plus heads of music at major radio and music TV stations – will be unveiled next week, with the ceremony itself taking place on February 20.

Robbie Williams announces new album of rarities and demos

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams has officially announced plans for a new collection of rare tracks chosen by fans.
The ‘Angels’ hitmaker is set to release ‘Under The Radar Volume 3’ – the third instalment of his special series for fans – which will featured a unique set of unreleased material and demos.
The album will be released on Valentine’s Day (14.02.19) next year, and Robbie is excited to share it with his passionate fanbase.
He said: “Announcing another ‘Under The Radar’ album for the fans makes me really happy. These are songs and versions of songs from the archives that people haven’t heard before.
“I’m proud of them, I’m really attached to them and I’m delighted to be sharing them in the third album of the series.”
The tracklisting will be chosen by his avid followers, with the final choices set to be revealed after the results of Robbie’s Vloggie Williams song polls.
The special record is available to pre-order now from robbiewilliams.com in standard, super deluxe and digital download formats.
Anticipation is high for the LP, which is set to include a number of tracks which did not make it onto previous studio efforts, including his most recent LP ‘The Heavy Entertainment Show’.
Earlier this year, it was reported that one song set to be included is ‘Disco Symphony’, which Robbie – who will start his Las Vegas residency a month after the collection comes out – recorded with Kylie Minogue but didn’t include on his latest album.
The lyrics were written in an unlikely collaboration between Robbie, his long-time songwriting partner Guy Chambers and British comedian Jimmy Carr.
Speaking previously about the song, the part-time Take That star said: “Me and Kylie have gotten together to do a song called ‘Disco Symphony’.
“It’s a big disco extravaganza … I have a cunning plan and that song is placed in my back pocket ready to be deployed at the right time – and it will see the light. It’s a cracker and I get to sing with Kylie Minogue again.”

Glenn Close was ‘subtly’ harassed

OHMYGOSSIP — Glenn Close was harassed in a “very subtle” way by a “very famous” actor.
The 71-year-old actress insisted she didn’t feel “threatened” by the man’s actions but it made her “freeze” up rather than call him out on his behaviour.
She recalled: “I had one very subtle moment, when I think back on it. Nothing that threatened me, but just so subtle.
“It was at an audition, and the very famous, very big actor that I was reading with put his hand on my thigh. It had nothing to do with the character. Or the scene.
“It just froze me up. Because you’re trying to do the scene, and all of a sudden you think, ‘Why is he doing that?’ But now I realise … if I had said, ‘Oh, that feels good,’ who knows what [he was] trying to elicit? Or if it was even conscious on his part?
“But I really understand the freeze syndrome.”
The ‘Wife’ actress – who has one child, Annie Starke, now 30, with third ex-husband John Starke – admitted her fame used to be “very frightening” to her daughter when she was young and her offspring used to get frustrated if she came home still preoccupied with her work.
Speaking to Lady Gaga, Kathryn Hahn, Nicole Kidman, Regina King and Rachel Weisz for The Hollywood Reporter’s Actress’ Roundtable, she said: “My daughter came up to me and said, ‘I want you. I want all of you.’ And she was three. They feel your distraction, if you are working …
“The hardest thing for a child living through my [fame] is that they sense when people want their parents.
“It’s the kind of lust of celebrity, and I think that can be very frightening to a child. Because it’s like, ‘She’s my mother.’
“When Annie was really little and we would go in an airport and she’d see that face coming toward me, she would just go, ‘Stay away. She’s mine.’ ”

Olivia Colman’s shipping secret

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Colman secretly listened to the shipping forecast while filming emotional scenes in ‘The Crown’.
The 44-year-old actress has taken on the role of Queen Elizabeth in the third series of the Netflix drama and admitted she had to come up with a “shameful” way of stopping herself from crying while shooting scenes of tragedy, such as Winston Churchill’s funeral or her visit to Wales after the 1966 Aberfan disaster, which killed 116 children and 28 adults, even though it meant she couldn’t hear her co-stars lines.
She told Vanity Fair magazine: “My problem is, I emote. The Queen is not meant to do it. She’s got to be a rock for everyone, and [has] been trained not to. We’ve discovered that I can’t do it. But I’ve come up with a little trick. It’s sort of shameful.
“Whenever anyone is telling me something sad, which just makes me cry, they give me an earpiece and they play the shipping forecast.
“It’s somebody going, ‘And the winds are fair to midland . . . blah, blah.’.
“I’m sort of not listening to what [the other actors are] saying. I’m trying so hard to tune into the shipping forecast and not cry.”
Olivia feels “very lucky” to have forged a strong relationship with her co-star Helena Bonham-Carter – who portrays her on-screen sister Princess Margaret – and revealed the ‘Fight Club’ actress sent her video tutorials when she needed help in replicating the monarch’s fluency in French on a 1972 state visit to France
She said: “I’m all right with French from school, but her accent is impeccable. So I asked her to record [my dialogue.
“She took the job so seriously. She did it so I could see her face, and then I got some voice recordings as well, where she would start from the beginning. If it was a tricky word, she’d say it again, nice and slowly, like she was the voice department.
“She’s so warm and so sort of embracing of everything, and she’s lovely. I’m really very lucky to spend my days with her.”

Blac Chyna’s lawsuit can proceed

OHMYGOSSIP — The Kardashian family have had their bid to have Blac Chyna’s lawsuit against them thrown out.
The ‘Rob and Chyna’ star has accused the relatives of her former partner Rob Kardashian – the father of her two-year-old daughter Dream – of defamation and trying to kill her reality show but while the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ clan attempted to have the claims dismissed, a court has now ruled the issue will go to trial.
Chyna’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, said in a statement: “Today the court REJECTED the Kardashian family’s request to strike Chyna’s entire lawsuit.
“We thank the court for its careful, well-reasoned rulings.
“We look forward to getting a trial date next month and aggressively fighting for Chyna’s rights at trial.”
However, six paragraphs were stricken from Chyna’s complaint, which were in connection with the 30-year-old star’s claims the family, including Rob’s mother Kris Jenner, sisters Kim Kardashian West and Khloe Kardashian, and half-sister Kylie Jenner, had accused her of assaulting Rob.
And the Kardashians’ attorney, Shawn Holley, insists the statement from Chyna’s team was “not an accurate statement” of what had happened in court.
She told The Blast: “The Bloom Firm’s press release is not an accurate statement of what happened in court.
“In fact, the Kardashians have successfully chipped away at Ms. White’s outlandish claims since her lawsuit was filed, culminating in the hearing — a hearing at which the Court invited counsel for the Kardashians to seek attorney fees against the Bloom Firm for their failure to support Ms. White’s spurious allegations with actual evidence.”
Chyna – who also has six-year-old son King Cairo with former partner Tyga – previously accused the family of trying to destroy her career.
Her court documents stated: “The unwritten rule no one told (her) when she began her relationship with Kardashian is that the entire family will come after you if you leave, using their fame, wealth and power to take you down, including getting your television show cancelled (despite great ratings), spreading lies about you, and even funding a bogus lawsuit about a crumbled gingerbread house.”
The outspoken star also claimed E! were pushing for a second series of ‘Rob & Chyna’ because they felt their break-up would offer more dramatic television.
Her lawsuit stated: “Reality television thrives on colourful personalities engaging in conflict. If anything, the E! network saw more potential in a second season given the success of season one and the new, unpredictable co-parenting relationship between Chyna and Rob.”

Roman Kemp’s memorable journeys

OHMYGOSSIP — Roman Kemp admits some of his “best memories” have been made on the journey home from a night out.
The Capital FM DJ has teamed up with Absolut for their Better Journeys Home anti-drink driving campaign to give away free cab rides home in London, Manchester and Birmingham over the festive season and he’s admitted he was inspired to get involved because he wants partygoers not to have memories of a nightmare trip overshadow their fun evening.

I’m A Celebrity camp may have to be evacuated due o fire

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ contestants may have to be evacuated from camp because raging bushfires threaten the set in Australia.
In the state of Queensland there are up to 200 blazes raging which are being caused by heatwave conditions, with temperatures reaching 104F (40C), and are being spread by strong winds.
Although they were first hundreds of miles away from the set they are now reported to be just 37 miles from Murwillumbah, New South Wales, where the show is filmed.
ITV bosses are now reportedly drawing up contingency plans which would see the stars, such as Anne Hegerty, Sair Khan, Noel Edmonds and Harry Redknapp, moved out of camp if the fires get too close.
A show insider exclusively told the Daily Star newspaper: “We speak to the fire services regularly and we are also monitoring the bushfires today. There is no immediate danger but the safety and the welfare of our cast and crew is our number one concern, and so we will continue to watch how the fires develop. We are really hoping they don’t get any closer to camp.”
Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology declared a “catastrophic fire danger” – the first time the highest threat level has been applied in the state – and thousands of residents have already been evacuated from their homes for safety purposes.
People living in Oxenford and Wongawallan – which are located fewer than 40 miles from the set – have left behind their homes and possessions.
The fire – which have destroyed numerous properties and led to the closure of dozens of schools despite the best efforts of firemen to contain it – is currently threatening to reach the town Rockhampton, which is about five miles away from camp and has about 80,000 residents.
Speaking about the wildfires, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said: “We have not seen the likes of this. These are unprecedented conditions. We expect to be in this heatwave at least until next Tuesday so it is going to be very serious from now until then.”

Kara Tointon couldn’t be happier

OHMYGOSSIP — Kara Tointon “couldn’t be happier” after giving birth to her first child.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star was reported to have welcomed her baby into the world last Thursday (22.11.18) and now her fiance Marius Jensen has confirmed their happy news – and even the couple’s dogs are thrilled with the new addition to their household.
Marius told HELLO! Online: “On Thursday at 11.04am, 3.2 kilos of happiness joined our lives.
“Kara and I couldn’t be happier and our four legged companions Elfie and Winston have been guarding our new family member since.”
Though Marius didn’t give many details about the baby, it was previously reported the couple had welcomed a boy into the world.
A source said: “Kara gave birth on Thursday to a little baby boy.”
Kara – who is best known for playing Dawn Swann in the BBC One soap – only announced she was pregnant in October 2018, just a few weeks before she was due to give birth, and admitted it had been the “biggest life-changing” moment she’d experienced.
Revealing she was having a baby in the pages of HELLO! magazine, the 35-year-old actress said: “It is an incredible time. It is the biggest life-changing moment when you have this little human being coming into your life that you are yet to meet. I can’t wait for motherhood and all the challenges it will bring. For me it was always about meeting the person that you know is the one you want to share this experience with. Marius and I said, ‘If it happens, we are ready, but we won’t plan,’ and then it happened quite quickly. For me, this is the perfect age.”
Kara and Marius got engaged after the hunk popped the question whilst she was in bed at home back in March, a week before they went on holiday to India where he had originally intended to propose.

The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star has been named the most influential celebrity in Lyst’s 2018 Year in Fashion Report, beating her older sister Kim Kardashian West and the Duchess of Sussex to the crown.
Lyst shared in their report: “2018 was Kylie’s year. At the age of 21, the youngest Kardashian has built a beauty empire, acquired over 115 million Instagram followers, had her first child and is set to become the youngest self-made billionaire. A true style chameleon, Kylie has driven more than two million searches this year, from Adidas tracksuits and Dior sunglasses to Victoria’s Secret underwear and Alexander Wang minidresses. A pink minidress that she wore to her birthday party saw searches for ‘pink dresses’ increase 107% in the following 48 hours.”
Kim was honoured for helping to revive the Fendi logo whilst brands worn by Duchess Meghan – who is expecting a baby with Prince Harry – would see an average of a 200% increase in search demand after she wore them.
They added: “Kim Kardashian made history this year as the first recipient of the CFDA’s Influencer Award. 2018 was also the year she made bike shorts cool, gave us a thing for neon swimwear and brought back the 90s thong. Tess Daly loves Bruno Tonioli’s rants

OHMYGOSSIP — Tess Daly loves it when Bruno Tonioli goes “off on a rant” on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 49-year-old presenter admits talking to the judges after the couples have performed is one of her favourite parts of co-hosting the programme because she never knows what is going to happen.
She told HuffPost UK: “I live for Bruno going off on one of his favourite rants. He’s so great… he’s so extra. And I love when I go and stand next to him live to talk to him because I don’t know what he’s going to say. The judges don’t do the dress rehearsal.
“I think they’re all great, I love them to bits. I have voices from the gallery sometimes shouting in my ear saying ‘time’s up, move it on’.”
Meanwhile, judge Craig Revel Horwood recently claimed he tries to avoid Tess’ “dull” questions on ‘Strictly’, but the blonde beauty – who co-hosts the show with Claudia Winkleman – didn’t take offense as she thinks he’s just a “pussy cat” who wasn’t being malicious when he singled her out.
She said: “He’s just Craig being Craig, he didn’t mean anything malicious by it.
“He’s a pussy cat, he’s a darling in real life. I think it was taken out of context, a lot of it. He’s a sweetie.”
Craig had caused a stir with his remarks when he said Bruno had been “driving him nuts” and then moved on to bemoan Tess’ interviews.
He said: “In those 10 or 20 seconds where I have to answer her quite dull questions actually…  I tend to avoid them and not answer if I’m super honest.
“If there is anyone here from the press, I did not say that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl Tweedy says coconut oil is “everything” to her.
The ‘Love Made Me Do It’ hitmaker uses the go-to product for everything from hair care, as a moisturiser for her skin and even when she’s in the bath.
She said: “My beauty routine has become so pared back since becoming a mum, you just don’t have time for it. Your time becomes so reduced that you definitely have to start getting rid of beauty hacks, they just become non-existent. That’s probably why coconut oil is everything to me. I use it everywhere, literally, hair to toes, on my body, in the bath, I eat it, everything!”
And the 35-year-old singer – who has 20-month-old son Bear with her ex-partner Liam Payne – has issued advice to other mothers and says sleep is crucial.
She added to Glamour magazine: “Sleep when the baby sleeps! I used to do that for the first couple of months – just nap with him. I also used to try and keep on top of the steriliser and all that as much as possible so it didn’t build up because then that’s painful. Also, get your husband to cook!”
Meanwhile, Cheryl previously insisted she is a “different” person since becoming a mother and it has changed her for the better.
She explained: “Being a teenager is disgusting. I’d never want to be in my 20s again. My life since the baby, and my life prior to the baby … they’re two different people, in the best possible way.”

Emmerdale’s Thomas Atkinson set for return as killer Lachlan White

OHMYGOSSIP — Thomas Atkinson is reportedly set to return to ‘Emmerdale’ as serial killer Lachlan White.
The 20-year-old actor is being lined up by bosses for a comeback to the ITV soap after his alter ego was sent to prison after trying to implicate Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) in his crimes.
A source told Metro.co.uk that Thomas is set for a return – albeit not a permanent one – with some brief scenes set to air over the coming weeks.
The soap insider said: “Taking a break away from the village was just what Belle needed to get her head together after everything she went through with Lachlan. But as she tries to get back on track, the ever conniving Lachlan hasn’t forgotten about her or the village.
“There are some more brief scenes coming up involving Lachlan but whether he is repentant over his crimes and wants to make amends or whether he has revenge on his mind once again remains to be seen.
“Either way, these are old wounds that Belle really didn’t need to have opened up. Every time she thinks she can forget about Lachlan, things have a habit of coming back to haunt her.”
Thomas – who spent four and a half years on the show before his departure – previously hinted Lachlan would return to our screens, admitting there could be a trial after his calculated character was locked up following his kidnapping of Rebecca White (Emily Head).
He said: “Will he be back? I don’t know. You’ll have to ask the soap gods about that. I mean, he’s not dying. He’s going to prison. There could be a trial. You know, we don’t know? We’ll have to see!”

Duchess Catherine’s royal baby excitement

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine thinks Duchess Meghan’s pregnancy is “really special”.
The 36-year-old royal is excited that her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Prince Harry are expecting their first child together and she’s looking forward to seeing the tot play with her and husband Prince William’s three children, Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and seven-month-old Prince Louis.
Asked if she’s excited about Meghan’s pregnancy, she told a well-wisher in Leicester: “Yeah, absolutely. It’s such a special time to have little kiddies and a cousin for George and Charlotte and Louis! It’s really special.”
Catherine also revealed her brood are feeling “excited” about the festive season and admitted their Christmas preparations are well and truly underway.
In a video posted to Instagram by one of the people Catherine met in the crowd, she said: “They’re doing well, they’re getting so excited for Christmas time.” She added, “They’ve started all their Christmas songs and Christmas trees are going up and all that.
“And Louis is getting bigger. It’s been seven months now – I can’t believe it., he’s a big boy.”
The duchess used her visit to Leicester University with her husband to reminisce about their own student days at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, where they first met.
In the Instagram clip, she said: “… Fond memories of our time at university together, so it’s always nice. It’s just weird being back again… We’d just like to be students again.”
During their visit to the UK city, Catherine and William took time to remember Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and the four others who died when their helicopter crashed outside the club’s King Power stadium last month.
The prince, a former air ambulance helicopter pilot, revealed he had known the Thai businessman for several years and had flown with the craft’s pilot, Eric Swaffer – who also passed away – just a few months before.
Catherine left a bouquet of flowers at the crash site and a card of condolence, which read: “To Vichai and all those who died in this terrible tragedy, you will be dearly missed. Our sincere condolences to the city of Leicester.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Louisa Lytton was “really nervous” about the ‘EastEnders’ consent episode.
On Thursday night (29.11.18) the entire episode will be set in the Queen Vic pub as the soap star’s alter ego Ruby Allen hears punters debating the topic of sexual consent without realising she is Albert Square’s anonymous rape victim referred to in the local newspaper.
Reflecting on filming the unique scenes, Louisa told RadioTimes.com: “I’d not been back on the show that long and hadn’t worked with half the people in the episode before, or not for many years.
“Everyone in the show says filming in the Vic is scary and intimidating, even the likes of Steve McFadden and Letitia Dean, actors I’m in awe of, no matter how long you’re there you still get the Queen Vic fear!
“I was really nervous in the lead-up, my boyfriend didn’t understand why – everyone was looking at me and I my knees would go weak!”
The 29-year-old actress – who returned to the show earlier this year for the first time in six years – admitted shooting such sensitive scenes featured very serious conversations has prompted her to discuss the issue with her friends away from the soap.
She added: “It has made me talk about our experiences with my own circle of friends, they’re asking me questions about things we’ve been through.
“It’s not something you ordinarily discuss, you’d think our generation would be the one to be open about it, but we’re not. I’ve never had those conversations with my friends before this storyline.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Matty Healy wants to have a child “now”.
The 1975 frontman – who is in a relationship with model Gabriella Brooks – thinks being a parent would give him a new purpose in life and stop him from focusing on existential despair.
Asked if new track ‘Love It If We Made It’ was written from the perspective of “staring death in the face”, he told Vulture: “I mean, yeah. It’s not opinionated. It’s stuff that’s happened. It’s what I was worried about.
“A combination of not being able to focus on one thing, and talking about my drug addiction, interspersed with the world, then me, then the world. I’ve always been staring death in the face. Always an existentialist, a nihilist. I just wanna have a baby now. Then I’ll stop doing that.”
Though the ‘Chocolate’ hitmaker likes to make other people happy, he thinks he’s currently “too busy” to have a child.
He added: “I’m too busy, but do you ever think that sometimes? God! Well, at least then me will go away! I’d like to become a vessel for somebody else’s happiness. That’s where I get meaning in life. I make music; it makes people happy. I find everything else a bit hard. I love my girlfriend.”
And the 29-year-old star admitted having a child might be selfish if he’s just looking for “salvation”.
He said: “I don’t wanna have a baby because of my sense of salvation.
“There’s not much out there for [children]. I worry if there’s really any point. Is there?”
However, Matty later asked for the subject to be dropped as there are issues he needs to “iron out” with his girlfriend.
He said: “I don’t wanna go down this road. Some stuff me and my missus have to iron out.”
