David Beckham reveals road trip joys in exciting new app

OHMYGOSSIP — David Beckham loves the anonymity of riding his motorbike down the US west coast.
The 43-year-old retired football legend has taken fans on the road with him on new digital fan club OTRO, which gives supporters unprecedented access to the biggest names in the game.
In a clip filmed during one of his road trips, he told subscribers: “There’s something about being on a bike, being on your own …
“That moment when you have a helmet on, when you’re riding through the traffic, when you’re riding past the ocean — no-one knows it’s you.”
He admitted his own hectic schedule means he and his good friends – Derek, Gill and Rob – make the most of their trips, and while they don’t usually plan a route they “always end up somewhere great” and unexpected.
The new platform features some of the biggest names in world football – including the likes of Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Eric Cantona – and aims to take people behind the scenes in the everyday lives of their favourite players.
As well as daily exclusive content like original films, interviews and live Q&A sessions, it will even give users the chance to meet their heroes through challenges and prizes.
Fans can join now through PCs and smartphones at OTRO.com, while the app will be in the iOS and Android app stores later this week.
While there is a free version with a selection of content, the platform is also available for a monthly subscription of $3.99 to give even greater access.

Candice Huffine praises brands for body ‘inclusivity’

OHMYGOSSIP — Candice Huffine has partnered with Fossil for their new Sport Smartwatch campaign.
The 34-year-old beauty – who was the first plus-size model to appear in the prestigious Pirelli calendar – has praised the company for embracing “body inclusivity” and showing fitness advertisements should be aimed at more than just one body shape.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Candice said: “I think this Fossil campaign is proof of how much we have evolved in the space of inclusivity. Typically one body type has been portrayed in fitness advertisements.
“The fact that Fossil sees beyond size and recognises my strength and accomplishments as a woman and athlete means so much to me, which I feel is proof of true change towards the future I had personally always hoped for in this industry.”
The stunning brunette promotes body confidence and advocates for “consistency” in the fashion industry, and the star also confessed that she is “finally” starting to see change and wider inclusivity represented in “advertising”.
Candice added: “There is not one kind of body that works out, that wears bikinis, that is fashionable and the bubble, I feel, is finally bursting on that archaic form of advertising.
“True inspiration and aspiration lies in feeling seen, and encouraged to just be unapologetically you.
“My suggestion to the industry is just consistency and solid commitment. Brands, magazines, companies, television, etc. have to remain committed to constant diversity and inclusivity.
“There is no going back. This is how it is now and if you don’t double down and stay the course of celebrating the truth of all women, it will come off as tokenism.”

Robbie Williams blames himself for X Factor failure

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams blames himself for Acacia & Aaliyah’s ‘X Factor’ failure.
The 44-year-old believes he is the reason his act didn’t reach ‘The X Factor’ final this year, admitting he feels regretful that he wasn’t there to guide them while he was away from his judging spot on a pre-scheduled leg of his solo tour in South America.
The former Take That star told The Sun newspaper: “Had I been with them maybe I wouldn’t have had them perform ‘Maniac’.
“But from South America it’s difficult to feel the temperature of the performance.
“I watched it in Guadalajara in Mexico thinking, ‘I wish they hadn’t done that.’
“That’s down to me. My not being there cost them, I think.
“But I’m delusional and think I’m going to win everything, which is how I’ve got this far – delusions.”
While the teen duo – Acacia K, 15, and Aaliyah Robinson, 14 – didn’t win the competition, the ‘Angels’ hitmaker is sure that they will continue to find success and is keen to work with them again after they made a huge impression with their rap skills and energetic performances.
He said: “But Acacia & Aaliyah in particular have done all that they need to do to secure a future in the music industry.
“Hopefully, I’ll be working with them, if they want to work with me.”
Robbie has reflected on the pair after seeing Dalton Harris – who was mentored by Louis Tomlinson – beat off competition from Anthony Russell and Scarlett Lee to win this year’s ‘X Factor’ in yesterday’s (02.12.18) final.
Robbie has previously praised the 24-year-old champion’s exceptional talent.
He said: “‘The X Factor’ is made to find people like Anthony Russell, but for you I’m baffled that you haven’t already got six albums under your belt, or that you’re not sat here on this side judging me and telling me how to be better.”

Nicole Kidman’s Destroyer set shut down by gunman

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman was left fearing for her life when a “real shooter” came onto the set of her movie ‘Destroyer’ which was being filmed in the “very worst neighbourhoods of Los Angeles”.
The 51-year-old Hollywood actress stars in director Karyn Kusama’s upcoming crime drama in which she portrays LAPD detective Erin Bell who must revisit an undercover gang case from her early days in the police force which had tragic consequences.
The movie – which sees Bell work her way back into favour with the gang’s members when the leader is released from prison – was shot on location in some of the most crime-ridden areas of LA and one day of shooting was interrupted when a gunman appeared leaving the cast and crew panicking for their safety.
Speaking to The Observer newspaper about the incident, she said: “We didn’t have much money so we did long hours and it was wet and cold and we were in the very worst neighbourhoods of LA. One time we got shut down because there was a real shooter on the set. Everyone was shouting, ‘Get down! Stay down!’ And I’m lying there with a gun, thinking, ‘Well, if this guy is going to shoot anyone it’s me, the person lying down holding a big gun.’ It was quite intense.”
The ‘Big Little Lies’ actress stars opposite Sebastian Stan and Tatiana Maslany in the soon-to-be-released flick and she desperately wanted to take on the role of Erin because she wanted to support 50-year-old director Kusama – whose previous work includes 2005 sci-fi film ‘Aeon Flux’ and 2009 horror comedy ‘Jennifer’s Body’, which starred Megan Fox as a high school cheerleader who is possessed by a flesh-eating demon.
Kidman explained: “I wanted in part to go and support a female director, who is not 21, and has taken a few hits herself. There are suddenly a few more opportunities for female actors out there.”

Adam Woodyatt ‘hates’ EastEnders doof doof moment

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Woodyatt “hates” getting a doof doof moment on ‘EastEnders’.
The 50-year-old actor has played Ian Beale on the soap since the first-ever episode on February 19, 1985, but he can’t stand acting out the iconic cliffhanger moments, which are accompanied by a dramatic drum sound, because he has to stand “like a lemon” while portraying such tense scenes.
He said: “I hate those bits, you have to stand there for four seconds like a lemon. You’d respond normally, in the real world.
“Someone has just given you some vital information like, ‘Cindy’s dead.’ You’d say something.
“Actually trying to stand there for four seconds and not do anything …”
Despite being an Albert Square resident since 1985, Adam doesn’t assume his contract will be renewed, and didn’t have any expectations that the show would be a hit when it first started.
He said: “I didn’t have any expectations, and I still don’t.
“I never looked, and I still don’t, past the date on my contract.
“I just presume that on that date it stops, until they give me a new contract …
“How else can you look at it? You can’t take it for granted.”
Speaking about what it would be like when he departs Albert Square, he said: “It’ll be like the ravens leaving the tower.”
Adam admits the cast and crew started to believe the soap would be a success in Christmas 1986 when more than 30 million people tuned in to see ‘Dirty’ Den Watts (Leslie Grantham) hand divorce papers to wife Angie Watts (Anita Dobson).
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, he added: “I think in Christmas 86 everybody started realising, ‘This really is a beast.’ Over 30 million viewers for Christmas Day.
“You look at the viewing figures now and if a drama gets eight million it’s considered a hit.
“All the soaps have dropped off.”

X Factor winner Dalton Harris reveals former homeless struggles

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The X Factor’ winner Dalton Harris says struggling as a homeless kid in Jamaica motivated him to apply for the show.
The 24-year-old singer – who beat off competition from Anthony Russell and Scarlett Lee to win this year’s series yesterday (03.12.18) – applied for the ITV show after he won a talent competition in his home country, Jamaica, and was motivated to dream big after the cash prize helped him get off the streets.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, he said: “I needed to go to school and I needed to be able to take care of myself because I was a homeless kid and so entering that competition enabled me to be able to take care of myself, go to school, feed myself and do normal stuff.
“It was kind of a big help and I knew I wanted to be an artist and I knew I had to go to a big platform.”
Dalton – who previously won more than £6,000 in cash after winning Digicel Rising Stars in Kingston – has now been given a recording deal with Simon Cowell’s label Syco Music.
Louis Tomlinson – who mentored Dalton throughout the series – told the show’s final crowd that Dalton is a “true gentleman” after the result was announced.
The proud tutor has also previously hailed Dalton to be one of the most talented vocalists to ever have appeared on the show.
He said: “Dalton, for me it’s been evident since week one that you were probably the best singer in this competition, if not the best singer ‘The X Factor’ has ever seen.”

Vanessa Feltz cannot afford wedding after gastric band spend

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Feltz cannot afford to get married because she spent all her money on a gastric band.
The 56-year-old TV presenter has joked she doesn’t have the capital for a wedding to her partner of 12 years, Ben Ofoedu, after forking out on weight loss surgery.
Speaking to OK! magazine about a potential nuptials with her 45-year-old lover, she said: “I can’t afford to. I spent all the money on a gastric band!
“They think it’s slipped, so the question is, do I take it out or leave it? I haven’t decided what to do.
“Apparently, this happens to one in five people. I don’t regret it but now it’s not so good.”
Vanessa – who has two daughters Allegra, 32 and Saskia, 29 with her first husband, surgeon Dr Michael Kurer – now lives with her singer and songwriter boyfriend in St John’s Wood, London.
The ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star is currently busy helping Saskia and her husband Marc Joss welcome their first child into the world, and predicts “they will be the most incredible parents” because they are both “full of fun and compassion”.
The BBC Radio 2 presenter has also addressed the eyebrow-raising comments she made back in 2014 when she said she wanted to breastfeed her eldest daughter Allegra’s son Zeke, who is now four, as a grandmother.
She said: “It was a joke but sort of serious! I thought that when I saw the baby, it would feel like the prickly feeling you get in your boobs when you breastfeed.
“But I don’t think that happens with grandmas, so it was metaphorical.”
Vanessa admitted that she is “besotted” with her grandchildren and “loves them to pieces”.

Noel Edmonds wants his own show with Harry Redknapp

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Edmonds looks set to front a new show alongside Harry Redknapp.
The 69-year-old TV presenter has admitted that following his shock eviction from ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ he will continue his TV comeback – and would love to appear in a new show alongside his jungle pal, 71-year-old Harry, as he thinks viewers would respond well to it.
He said: “I think it is OK to say there have been a couple of ideas put forward for a Noel and Harry show.
“But my boy is still in there so we will have to wait for him to come out.
“We did have a laugh and I think judging by what I have heard it went down well with the viewers.”
The former ‘Noel’s House Party’ host had previously stated that if he won the jungle reality show he would retire from TV, but he’s now insisting a comeback is definitely on the cards.
He said: “I’m sorry, you knew the deal. The public broke the deal. The threat [of a comeback] is there. There are offers coming in, but it is early days.”
Noel explained that the pair had formed a genuine bond while on the show and thinks that he helped the sports star to become less “miserable” and laugh more.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he added: “Harry said a wonderful thing. He said, ‘I didn’t laugh when I was a full-time football manager.’
“He said the stress and the strain and how quickly you are exposed to people hating you impacted on him and he couldn’t sleep.
“Then he said, ‘I became a miserable b*****d. I have not laughed this much until I met you.’
“We had such a laugh it was great. I think sometimes the others were a bit nonplussed why we were laughing.”

Emily Blunt: Mary Poppins’ accent made singing easier

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Blunt was able to overcome her fear of singing on screen in ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ thanks to the magical nanny’s accent.
The 35-year-old actress takes over the iconic role from Dame Julie Andrews in the Disney sequel to the 1964 classic and was required to sing several numbers in Rob Marshall’s movie.
Blunt was very hesitant about sharing her voice with the world but once she got to grips with Mary’s perfect cut glass English accent she was far more confident tackling the lyrics as her alter ego.
In an interview on UK TV show ‘This Morning’, she said: “Singing is more personal and more intimate, it’s easier for me to sing as Mary Poppins because I sing in a way that’s not my natural voice, with a different accent and a different style so it’s easier for me to remove myself.”
Blunt received a personal phone from Marshall, 58. asking her to take on the part of Poppins and the British actress admits the “life-changing moment” is “seared” into her brain.
Recalling the conversation, she said: “Do I remember it? It’s like seared into my memory, it was a life-changing moment.”
Marshall – who has signed up to direct the Disney live-action remake of ‘The Little Mermaid’ – previously revealed that his call to Blunt felt like a marriage proposal because he wanted her to step into Andrews’ shoes so badly and had a slight fear she would say no.
He said: “I guess it was [like a marriage proposal]. I didn’t mean it to be. I did think it was a big deal to ask her to play this role so I wanted to set it up in a sort of ceremonious way. When I said, ‘You know, it’s Mary Poppins, the character and the film,’ there was definitely silence. But then I heard her inhale with excitement. I knew that, of course, we all had trepidation and fear about how you follow that brilliant first film, but I know how fearless she is and I knew she would say yes. By the end of the phone call it was a big yes.”

Amy Macdonald finds being offered acting roles ‘outrageous’

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Macdonald thinks its “outrageous” when she’s offered acting roles.
The 31-year-old singer has been offered “so many parts” in movies and plays but has always turned them down because she’s “never done acting” and doesn’t think she’s properly qualified for the parts.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, she said: “I have been offered so many parts in movies and I just think it’s so outrageous as I’ve never really done acting or things like that
“I was asked if I’d audition for a part in a Broadway musical because the director just loved me.”
The ‘This Is The Life’ hitmaker is “flattered” by the interest in her, but she struggles to shoot “three minutes of footage” for a music video and so doesn’t think she could have a successful acting career.
She said: “I’m flattered by the offers but I struggle to make videos and they’re only shooting three minutes of footage.”
The ‘Mr. Rock & Roll’ singer was moved to create a ‘Woman Of The World’, a best of compilation album after an emotional performance at a music festival, however, Amy previously admitted that she finds the term “best of quite embarrassing”.
She said: “To me, the term ‘best of’ is quite embarrassing, I think of Madonna and Bruce Springsteen and all these amazing artists. I don’t really see myself in that kind of gang, unfortunately.
“I’m someone that maybe people who don’t know a lot about me actually know more of my songs than they think they do.
“Seeing that massive response at Perth, the reactions of so many people, made me feel a collection album was a great idea.”

Paddy Wallace promises huge Corrie twist

OHMYGOSSIP — Paddy Wallace has promised a big twist in his ongoing ‘Coronation Street’ saga.
The actor plays Jude Appleton on the soap, and he has hinted at a lot more to come in the saga after his alter ego has disappeared without explanation, with mother Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) fearing for his life.
He told RSVP Live: “I can’t tell you anything about Jude’s final scenes, but I can confirm that you will see him again.
“It’s an interesting finale for me. Nothing is ever easy with Jude, it’s certainly not simple – that’s about as much as I can let slip, really.”
Although he was asked if the twist in the story would be the last viewers would see of the character, Paddy kept his cards very close to his chest.
He teased: “Well, if I told you that then you’d know too much!”
Jude was last seen by ‘Corrie’ fans when Angie Appleton (Victoria Ekanoye) and Roy Cropper (David Neilson) told him to pack his bags and leave the street.
He handed his baby son George to Roy at the tram station, and hasn’t been seen in Weatherfield since.
Paddy has remained coy about the future, meaning his alter ego’s future – and even whether he survives or gets killed off – remains a mystery.
However, the star did promise that “there’s some epic stuff coming” for ‘Corrie’ viewers over the busy Christmas period.
Although Paddy recently confirmed serial liar Jude will depart the cobbles, paving the way for Angie to move on, co-star Victoria wanted the couple to work out their troubles.
She previously said: “I would’ve loved Angie and Jude to work it out but I don’t know how you can repair that broken trust.
“There’s so many lies.
“I think there’s been moments where she’s proud of the fact that he’s trying to do the paramedic job.
“She’s wants so much for it to be him getting himself together for them being able to work stuff out and become this family she’s wanted for long.”

Owen Warner thinks Malique Thompson-Dwyer might get rejected by Fleur East

OHMYGOSSIP — Owen Warner doesn’t think Malique Thompson-Dwyer will have much luck with Fleur East on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
The ‘Hollyoaks’ star has given his verdict as his castmate looks to be getting on well with the former ‘X Factor’ champion as things get flirty, and he doesn’t think it’s going the way his friend might want it to.
Calling in to jungle spin-off show ‘Extra Camp’, he said: “Didn’t Fleur say she sees him as a little brother? [Malique] might be facing some rejection if he tries.”
Fleur has been linked to fashion designer Marcel Badiane-Robin, and while Malique isn’t in a relationship he insisted he wasn’t specifically looking for romance in camp.
He previously said: “I am single. I’m not looking for [love in the jungle], but if it happens, it happens.”
It remains to be seen if there is really a spark between Malique and Fleur, but it follows reports that ITV bosses are keen on a romance between Emily Atack and Nick Knowles.
It’s said that producers have noticed a bit of a spark between the 28-year-old actress and ‘DIY SOS’ star Nick, 56, and they’re hoping it can develop into something during their time in the jungle.
An insider previously said: “Producers think Nick and Emily getting together would make good telly. Nick has a type and Emily fits the bill.
“And she hasn’t minded a famous boyfriend in the past. Everyone is watching closely and hoping for a proper spark.
“They’ve had a couple of moments on screen that producers thought was a good sign. They’re seeing how things develop.”

Casualty star Cathy Shipton says new story will destigmatize dementia

OHMYGOSSIP — Casualty’s Cathy Shipton says her new dementia plot will help to destigmatise the illness.
The 61-year-old actress – who has portrayed nurse Lisa ‘Duffy’ Duffin in the hit BBC medical series on and off since it began in 1986 – is pleased that the writers have given her such an important storyline and she thinks it will resonate with viewers because thy will see a beloved character suffer with the effects of mental deterioration .
Cathy told What’s On TV magazine: “This is just the start of a long-running storyline. The producers really want to destigmatise this issue, which is why they wanted it to affect a character the audience are invested in, like Duffy.
“At the moment everyone just thinks I’m a hussy. But ‘Casualty’ is known for highlighting relationship problems and health issues.”
Her character Duffy – who previously betrayed her husband Charlie by having a one-night stand with her childhood sweetheart Bill – has been acting strangely for some weeks now.
She has recently become disliked by the audience for having an affair and has also been taking antidepressants to help her cope with panic and anxiety attacks.
After suffering a bad fall at home, Duffy is embarrassed when she’s brought into hospital by paramedics – instead of her husband Charlie – and plays down how bad she is feeling because she fears receiving a more serious diagnosis.
Later, she researches her symptoms online and discovers that the diagnosis is dementia -leaving the audience wondering whether Duffy will continue to suffer in silence.
Dementia is an overall term that describes a group of symptoms associated with a decline in memory or other thinking skills severe enough to reduce a person’s ability to perform everyday activities.
It is recommended that those over the age of 65 who are becoming increasingly forgetful should go and talk to their GP about the early signs of dementia – as one in 14 people over 65 will develop the syndrome.
‘Casualty’ airs every Saturday at 9.15pm on BBC One.

Peter Davison wants to make an album

OHMYGOSSIP — Former ‘Doctor Who’ Peter Davison wants make an album.
The 67-year-old actor has revealed that before getting into acting and landing his breakout role in 1978 BBC veterinary drama ‘All Creatures Great and Small’, Davison had hoped to make his living as a songwriter but then he became the Fifth Doctor in the BBC sci-fi series in 1981 and his musical ambitions had to go on the “back-burner” as he became a major star of the small screen.
Davison is still picking up regular TV roles as he approaches his 70th birthday but he is still writing songs and he is determined to join the list of actors who have made albums in recent years before it is too late.
Speaking on the ‘In Conversation with Matthew Sweet’ documentary from upcoming DVD & Blu Ray release ‘Doctor Who: The Collection – Season 19’, he said: “The truth is I carried on writing songs for many years and I still do from time-to-time, acting always got in the way. It was one of those things that was on the back-burner and if acting gave me up then I would go back to songwriting and dig out these songs and see if I could sell them. I had a music publisher and I had a couple of songs recorded. I still haven’t given up on the idea of producing an album, because people might think I’m talking nonsense when I say I’ve written all these songs so part of me wants to prove it was true.”
Davison only writes and plays his own music so when he does make his album it will be a record of totally original material unlike the efforts of his acting peers, like Alexander Armstrong and Bradley Walsh, who have made records packed with covers.
He added: “It will be my own songs or nothing, I’m not going to do an Alexander Armstrong! Tragically in this obsession with writing my own songs, in the late 60s and early 70s I never learnt anybody else’s songs. I was useless at those parties when people would hand me a guitar and say play a Beatles song or play this, I couldn’t play any of them I never learnt them.”

I’m A Celebrity camp may have to be evacuated due o fire

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ contestants may have to be evacuated from camp because raging bushfires threaten the set in Australia.
In the state of Queensland there are up to 200 blazes raging which are being caused by heatwave conditions, with temperatures reaching 104F (40C), and are being spread by strong winds.
Although they were first hundreds of miles away from the set they are now reported to be just 37 miles from Murwillumbah, New South Wales, where the show is filmed.
ITV bosses are now reportedly drawing up contingency plans which would see the stars, such as Anne Hegerty, Sair Khan, Noel Edmonds and Harry Redknapp, moved out of camp if the fires get too close.
A show insider exclusively told the Daily Star newspaper: “We speak to the fire services regularly and we are also monitoring the bushfires today. There is no immediate danger but the safety and the welfare of our cast and crew is our number one concern, and so we will continue to watch how the fires develop. We are really hoping they don’t get any closer to camp.”
Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology declared a “catastrophic fire danger” – the first time the highest threat level has been applied in the state – and thousands of residents have already been evacuated from their homes for safety purposes.
People living in Oxenford and Wongawallan – which are located fewer than 40 miles from the set – have left behind their homes and possessions.
The fire – which have destroyed numerous properties and led to the closure of dozens of schools despite the best efforts of firemen to contain it – is currently threatening to reach the town Rockhampton, which is about five miles away from camp and has about 80,000 residents.
Speaking about the wildfires, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said: “We have not seen the likes of this. These are unprecedented conditions. We expect to be in this heatwave at least until next Tuesday so it is going to be very serious from now until then.”
