Sheridan Smith’s new show Cleaning Up set for three series

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheridan Smith’s new series ‘Cleaning Up’ is set to run for three series.
The 37-year-old actress has been busy filming the upcoming ITV drama in which she plays Sam, a struggling mum-of-two who uses her job as a cleaner in the City to start insider trading to try and help her family.
Bosses are expecting the programme to be popular with viewers as they have reportedly told cast and crew to clear their schedules for two more series after the debut run.
A source told The Sun’s TV Bizarre column: “Bosses think the ideal scenario is for three series, so people are keeping their diaries open.”
Whilst filming the new programme, Sheridan requested chicken nugget Happy Meals from McDonald’s on her rider.
The ‘Cilla’ star regularly asked for the fast food order so she could chomp on the chicken treats, which are covered in a delicious crispy coating, while she was on set.
An insider previously told the same publication: “Sheridan was militant about making sure she had the meal ready for her every day.”
Sheridan will soon be soon starring alongside Alison Steadman and Sinead Keenan in new 90-minute BBC One drama ‘Care’, which has been written by Jimmy McGovern and Gillian Juckes.
In the show Sheridan plays Jenny, a mother-of-two raising her girls alone after the departure of her husband Dave.
She grows to rely on Mary (Steadman), Jenny’s widowed mother, whose help with childcare allows Jenny to hold down her full-time job at the supermarket but when Mary suffers a devastating stroke and develops dementia, Jenny’s world comes crashing down and everything changes for her and her sister Claire (Keenan) as they must decide how best to care for their ailing mother.

Bob Mortimer is following a strict fish and soup diet following heart surgery

OHMYGOSSIP — Bob Mortimer recovered from his heart operation with a diet of fish and soup.
The 59-year-old comic – who underwent a triple bypass in 2015 – has given up smoking and cut out dairy from his diet in order to be healthier.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: “I’ve had to cut out smoking and saturated fats. I was on 20 a day.
“When they do the operation they hook you up to big nicotine patches so you don’t want them anymore.
“So there’s no more dairy, red meat. I eat a lot of fish and soup now.”
The ‘Vic and Bob’s Big Night Out’ star previously praised his pal Paul Whitehouse for helping with his recovery by getting him out of the house and on fishing trips, which inspired their TV show ‘Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing’.
He previously said: “It’s been spectacular in terms of my mental health and my well-being.
“When I was sat at home after I had my operation, the first few nights I was really, really frightened. You are very aware of any little movement in your heart and you think you’re a goner.
“I had a new drive to do something with my life after a brush with mortality but I didn’t quite know what it might be.”
Paul, 60, admitted he and Bob liked the idea of the show because they were able to “behave like children” while trying to catch some dinner.
He said: “We thought it was quite a humorous idea, these two old idiots, really, behaving like children.”
‘Vic & Bob’s Big Night Out’ airs Wednesday at 10pm on BBC4.

Taron Egerton never thought he’d be an action hero

OHMYGOSSIP — Taron Egerton never thought he’d become an action hero.
The ‘Kingsman’ star admits he would have never believed he would be doing action movies because they can be “quite gruelling and physical”.
He said: “I don’t think I scream action hero. I certainly enjoy it, but it’s very hard work, and I often think it can be more fun to watch than it is to do, just in the sense that it can be quite gruelling and physical. For me I have to alter my body shape because I don’t keep myself in incredible shape all year round. Not that I’m in incredible shape now, but I’m okay.”
And the 29-year-old actor believes his role as Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin in ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ helped him land a part in ‘Robin Hood’.
He added: “When they were considering people, they needed someone who had some experience of being physical as it’s a very physical role. I certainly felt that walking into this I had had some experience of action and stunt work, and it served me well … I’ve done my thousand hours of that now.”
Whilst the movie looked fun to shoot, Taron admits it wasn’t as easy as it looked.
He told Sky News: “We were in Hungary in the middle of winter and it’s tough. Making that kind of movie, it looks fun but actually you’ve got horses, you’ve got bows and arrows, you’ve got stuff going on, and it’s a lot of moving pieces and you’re always pushing the budget to the max and you’re always stretched.”

BRITs Critics’ Choice nominees revealed

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi has been nominated for Critics’ Choice at the BRIT Awards 2019.
The winner of the prestigious annual prize – which has previously been won by the likes of Adele, Sam Smith and Rag’n’Bone Man – will be announced on December 7, and the young singer-songwriter is on the shortlist alongside Mahalia and Sam Fender.
Lewis – who will hit the road with Bastille in February – said: “Absolutely honoured to have been shortlisted for this year’s BRITs Critics’ Choice award alongside two unreal artists.
“Genuinely cannot believe I’m being included in something like this and do not think I’ve done enough to be deserving of it!
“That being said, from here on in I will insist that those around me, including my mother and father, refer to me only as ‘BRITS Critics’ Choice Award Nominee, Lewis Capaldi.’ ”
Mahalia – who has supported the likes of Ed Sheeran and last year’s recipient Jorja Smith on tour – admitted it was the pinnacle of a whirlwind year.
She added: “I can’t believe it. I’m truly honoured to be nominated for the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award. The last year has been surreal to say the least but this really is the cherry on top. Thank you so much to all those who voted for me.”
For fellow nominee Sam – who recently released his debut EP ‘Dead Boys’ – it marks a dream come true after growing up watching the BRITs each year as a child.
He said: “I’ve been watching the BRITs since I was a child, and my brother would let me stay up and watch them live; so to be nominated for the Critics’ Choice award is crazy. What an honour! A big thank you to anyone who has put their faith in my music.”
The winner – who is chosen by an invited panel of music editors and critics of national press and online music editors, plus heads of music at major radio and music TV stations – will be unveiled next week, with the ceremony itself taking place on February 20.

Robbie Williams announces new album of rarities and demos

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams has officially announced plans for a new collection of rare tracks chosen by fans.
The ‘Angels’ hitmaker is set to release ‘Under The Radar Volume 3’ – the third instalment of his special series for fans – which will featured a unique set of unreleased material and demos.
The album will be released on Valentine’s Day (14.02.19) next year, and Robbie is excited to share it with his passionate fanbase.
He said: “Announcing another ‘Under The Radar’ album for the fans makes me really happy. These are songs and versions of songs from the archives that people haven’t heard before.
“I’m proud of them, I’m really attached to them and I’m delighted to be sharing them in the third album of the series.”
The tracklisting will be chosen by his avid followers, with the final choices set to be revealed after the results of Robbie’s Vloggie Williams song polls.
The special record is available to pre-order now from robbiewilliams.com in standard, super deluxe and digital download formats.
Anticipation is high for the LP, which is set to include a number of tracks which did not make it onto previous studio efforts, including his most recent LP ‘The Heavy Entertainment Show’.
Earlier this year, it was reported that one song set to be included is ‘Disco Symphony’, which Robbie – who will start his Las Vegas residency a month after the collection comes out – recorded with Kylie Minogue but didn’t include on his latest album.
The lyrics were written in an unlikely collaboration between Robbie, his long-time songwriting partner Guy Chambers and British comedian Jimmy Carr.
Speaking previously about the song, the part-time Take That star said: “Me and Kylie have gotten together to do a song called ‘Disco Symphony’.
“It’s a big disco extravaganza … I have a cunning plan and that song is placed in my back pocket ready to be deployed at the right time – and it will see the light. It’s a cracker and I get to sing with Kylie Minogue again.”

Amy Schumer’s empowering clothing lines

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Schumer wants to “empower women of all ages and sizes” with her new clothing line.
The ‘Trainwreck’ actress is launching ready-to-wear collection Le Cloud, which will debut at Saks Off 5th on December 13, and wants people to feel “confident and powerful” wearing it.
She said: “My instinct is to be authentic and to empower women of all ages and sizes to do the same. We are making beautiful, comfortable and wearable clothing that is accessible to real women. A Le Cloud customer will feel confident and powerful when wearing these pieces. We take our product seriously, but not ourselves.”
Amy has teamed up with Leesa Evans, a celebrity stylist and costume designer, to launch the clothing line after working alongside her at events.
She added: “People are so used to fitting way smaller actresses or models. If I were doing a photo shoot for a magazine or a fitting for a role I was playing, the clothes didn’t look right or fit right. I was made to feel like my body was wrong. I was so reticent about my fitting with Leesa, and she just approached it in such a different way.”
And the 37-year-old actress and comedienne credits Leesa for helping her “feel comfortable in something other than sweatpants”.
She told WWD: “Leesa taught me about proportions, and she taught me that I could feel comfortable in something other than sweatpants. The tools that she gave me for feeling comfortable and feeling that I could reach my full potential, and I was more worthy to be out in the world in an outfit. I wanted to pass that on to every woman. That is my truest, deepest reason I wanted to do this. And wanting it to be affordable and comfortable and look great.”

Mandy Moore says it was love at first sight with Taylor Goldsmith

OHMYGOSSIP — Mandy Moore “completely fell in love” with Taylor Goldsmith after a single hug.
The ‘This Is Us’ star had been chatting with the musician on Instagram for a while before they went out on their first date but she admits it was love at first sight.
She said: “I left that dinner completely smitten but we didn’t hold hands or kiss or anything. I completely fell in love with him without having done anything more than given him a hug good night.”
And the 34-year-old actress and singer feels she really “lucked out” with Taylor.
She added: “He’s undeniably good person in every respect. I wasn’t expecting it but I really lucked out. I would go through everything that I went through a million times over if it meant landing Taylor in my life again and meeting him.”
And Mandy is grateful to have her girlfriends in her life too, as they “fulfil” her in a different way.
She told the December issue of Australia’s ELLE magazine: “I love Taylor, and he’s my best friend, but my relationship with him is very different from the way that I’m fulfilled by my girlfriends.”
Mandy and Taylor tied the knot earlier this month in front of family and friends in an “intimate” ceremony in Los Angeles.
A source said at the time: “[The ceremony was] an intimate backyard wedding at Mandy’s home that started just after sundown on Sunday evening. There was a small group of family and friends that looked to be about 50 people.”

Paris Hilton isn’t thinking about dating right now

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Hilton isn’t even “thinking about” dating right now.
The DJ and socialite insists she is focusing on her work and family following her split from ‘Leftovers’ actor Chris Zylka and is “busy being a boss-babe”.
She told E! News: “I’m amazing. I am busy being a boss-babe, running an empire. That is all I have time for. I barely have time for myself, let alone anything else. I am not even thinking about [dating] right now. I am literally so busy. I hardly have time to see my own family, let alone do that. I am so happy. I just love my life. My advice is to always be happy and feel good about yourself – because life is truly too short.”
Meanwhile, Paris previously admitted she thought her marriage to Chris was going to be her own version of a “Disney” happy ending.
She said: “I’m doing really good. I’m just really having my me time. I just feel that when I fall in love, I fall in love fast and hard. It was this whirlwind romance and I’ve always been obsessed with Disney stories and love stories, and I thought it was going to be my happy ending and I just realised after time that it wasn’t the right decision.”
And the 37-year-old star hasn’t ruled out getting married and having children in the future.
She added: “You know, one day, I would love to get married and have children, but for right now I’m just focusing on myself and my work.”
A source previously claimed that Paris’ wedding to Chris was “never going to happen”.
They said: “This wedding was never going to happen. They never had an engagement party and Chris’ parents never even met Paris’ parents. They postponed the 11/11 date without a new date. No one is surprised by this at all. Paris got caught up in wanting a wedding and she just didn’t think about the marriage part. It was never going to work with Chris.”

Louis Emerick’s Coronation Street comeback has been confirmed

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Emerick will return to ‘Coronation Street’ over Christmas.
The former ‘Brookside’ actor appeared on the cobbles for three months earlier this year when he made his debut as Liz McDonald’s (Beverley Callard) love interest Mike Thornberry, and now his previously reported comeback has been confirmed.
A spokesperson told the Liverpool ECHO newspaper: “He is back on screen for a few episodes around Christmas time.”
The news of his comeback comes after reports over the summer that new ‘Corrie’ boss Iain MacLeod had re-hired Louis for a “major storyline”.
A TV source previously said: “Producer Iain MacLeod felt that Louis’s character had more to give and wants to involve him in a major storyline.
“Producers want to test the water and see if he could be a more permanent fixture.”
As well as striking up a brief romance with Mike, Liz was also recently romantically involved with new Rovers Return landlord Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) – and Mike is set to divulge the pair’s infidelity in front of the former factory boss’ new punters.
The insider added: “His character Mike will reveal the extent of Liz’s affair with married Johnny Connor in the Rovers Return to a room-full of shocked locals.”
News of Louis’ return will not come as too much of a surprise to die-hard ‘Corrie’ fans, after he previously dropped a huge hint he might reprise his role at some point.
In response to a fan who appeared to be blaming Corrie’s former series producer Kate Oates for his short stint on the show, Louis replied: “to be fair to #KateOates I knew the deal when I joined, and hey,the door will be left open, #MikeThornberry ain’t ready to give up on Liz yet x (sic)”
He also tweeted another fan: “i was only on a 3month contract! (sic)”

Stephanie Waring is missing her ‘best friends’ on Hollyoaks

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Waring has lost her “best friends” on the ‘Hollyoaks’ set.
The 40-year-old soap star – who first appeared as Cindy Cunningham back in 1996 – admitted she is finding it tough coping without working with her real-life pals Amanda Clapham and David Kennedy, who played her character’s daughter and husband respectively.
Amanda’s alter ego Holly – Cindy’s daughter – recently drove off into the sunset while David’s character Dirk Savage tragically died, and it’s made a difference during filming.
Stephanie told Inside Soap: “I was very close to Amanda Clapham and David, they were my best friends. It is hard sometimes not having them here – there are two holes in ‘Hollyoaks.’ ”
The actress first played Cindy for five years until 2001, before making brief returns in 2002 and 2004 and eventually making a full time return a decade ago.
Her character has been through a lot over the years, but Stephanie has suggested that could be more to come with plenty of “life in the old dog yet”.
She added: “She’s done so much already. She’s been married six times she has children, she’s killed someone and she has bipolar… I’d like to think [her next steps] would be something that challenged me.”
Despite the soap seeing a lot of change recently Stephanie, 40, heaped praise on co-star Stephanie Davis, 25, ahead of her return as Sinead O’Connor last month.
She recently said: “Do you know what, she has really grown up a lot and she has really taken control of everything in her life and everything that has happened with people.
“She is a really truly wonderful human being and I couldn’t be happier to have her back on the show.”

Melissa Joan Hart would love Clarissa Explains It All reboot

OHMYGOSSIP — Melissa Joan Hart says there is a “possibility” of a ‘Clarissa Explains It All’ remake.
The 42-year-old actress believes there is a chance of a reboot of the 1990s hit Nickelodeon show – and she would like the new adaptation to be “a mother and daughter two hander kind of show” similar to ‘Gilmore Girls’.
She told People magazine: “It’s all the moving pieces. It took us years to draw up a contract, so now there’s a possibility, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to go anywhere. There are numerous different ways it could go. I’d like to see it as Gilmore Girls, like a mom and her daughter, two-hander show kind of thing.”
The ‘Melissa & Joey’ star also admitted that it’s been a “little challenging” being separated from her husband Mark Wilkerson – with whom she haves children Mason, 12, Braydon, 10 and six year-old Tucker – whilst she’s working away and the pair compensate by sending “dirty gifs” to each other.
She said: “We work out together we do lunches together and stuff right now though I’m living in LA because I’m shooting a new Netflix show and he’s raising our kids in Tahoe. So I’m like back and forth on the weekends and hiatus weeks here and there but the school year this year has been a little challenging because we’re not really together that much. So it’s a lot of like phone calls and texting and sending each other a lot of dirty gifs, we find some great gifs and we just send them.”

Jennifer Lopez doesn’t know if she’ll marry Alex Rodriguez

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez “doesn’t know” when she’ll marry Alex Rodriguez.
The ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker admits she’s not sure if she’ll ever tie the knot with the former baseball star but is content with where their relationship is at the moment.
Asked when she thinks they’ll tie the knot, she said: “I don’t know! We’ve been together a couple of years, it’s nice.”
And the 49-year-old singer and dancer doesn’t like to think about turning 50 next year and says it is more important to focus on how she feels inside.
Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she added: “I like not to think about [age], I go with more of how I feel inside and I feel very youthful and energetic. Maybe that’ll change, but right now I feel pretty good.”
Jennifer thinks she and Alex have a “nice dynamic”.
She explained: “When you have a partner that is so supportive of what you do, you don’t have to hold back. With him, it’s like, how much more do you want to do? How much bigger do you want to get? How can I help you? Where do you need me to be? And I like to do the same for him. It’s just a nice dynamic that I have never experienced, and I am really happy about that.”
And Jennifer thinks timing was everything with their romance.
She shared: “We were both at a good place in our lives. And I think, maybe if we had met in our twenties, it wouldn’t … you know, maybe not so much. We’re too crazy. But now, at this point in our lives, where we both have kids and we both accomplished certain things in our careers and we’re kind of in that second act of our lives, we really complement each other.”

Star Wars screenwriter Gloria Katz has died

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Star Wars’ screenwriter Gloria Katz has died.
The writer-and-producer – who secretly helped Lucas finish his script for the first movie in the sci-fi franchise, 1977’s ‘A New Hope’ – passed away at the age of 76 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles after a battle with ovarian cancer on Sunday (25.11.18) on what was her 49th wedding anniversary to Willard Huyck.
Katz and Willard’s impact on ‘Star Wars’ included them helping Lucas redefine Carrie Fisher’s alter ego Princess Leia by convincing him to make her a tougher character.
She said: “She can take command; she doesn’t take any s**t, but at the same time she’s vulnerable … instead of just a beautiful woman that schlepped along to be saved.”
Katz also revealed that Lucas wanted her and her husband to polish what he had created, but didn’t want people to know that anyone else had worked on it.
She explained: “He said, ‘Polish it – write anything you want and then I’ll go over it and see what I need.’ George didn’t want anyone to know we worked on the script, so we were in a cone of silence.”
Katz often collaborated with her spouse Willard on Lucas’ movies, including ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’ and ‘American Graffiti’ – which was nominated for five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay for Lucas, Huyck and Katz.
The couple met through friends in the 1960s while she was a film student at U.C.L.A. and Willard was studying the same subject at U.S.C. – where he befriended Lucas.
