Matthew Wright ditches pregnant wife for solo Christmas trip

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Wright will not be spending Christmas with his pregnant wife this year.
The 53-year-old radio presenter hates the pressure of the festive season and instead prefers to spend a couple of weeks away from home on a fishing trip, meaning he will not be with his significant other, Amelia Wright.
In a guest column in this week’s Closer magazine, he wrote: “The meaning of Christmas may be about spending time with loved ones, but I have to admit I always spend the day on my own.
“I hate the stress of it and the pressure to spend so much money on presents and food. So I take myself off somewhere for two weeks, fishing, without any friends or family.
“I’ve always been a loner and benefit a lot from my own company.
“I also haven’t bought a Christmas card or present for about 11 years.
“My wife Amelia is pregnant with our-much-longed-for first child – due on Valentine’s Day – but I’m still going to go away for a few weeks on my own.”
Matthew – who is best known for being the host of the Channel 4 topical debate show ‘The Wright Stuff’ from 2000 to 2018 – insisted Amelia is understanding of her husband’s reclusive nature and says “she’s always been supportive” of his choice to leave her to enjoy Christmas with her family while he goes on a solo fishing trip.
However, Matthew has been told he will not be able to spend Christmas alone next year after their baby daughter is born.

Brian May’s rocking manicure

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian May gets a powder gel manicure at his local nail salon to strengthen his fingernails so he can play guitar on stage with Queen.
The 71-year-old guitarist relies on acrylic nails to protect his hard-worn finger tips when he’s hammering the fret board of his instrument and he admits the beauty treatment has “changed his life” on tour and would recommend them to “any guitarist”.
Speaking to The Daily Mail newspaper, he said: “These days I’m dependent on powder gel. My fingernails don’t hold up to the guitar playing. In fact, these nail coverings have really changed my life on tour. I recommend them to any guitarist. They’re hard as iron. When the coverings finally fall off about two months later your nails are in a hopeless state. So back to the salon you go.”
Following the release of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ – the critically acclaimed biopic about the British rock band and their iconic singer Freddie Mercury – Queen announced they are embarking on a North American tour during the summer of 2019 with singer Adam Lambert.
The group will perform 23 shows in the United States and Canada next July and August for their ‘Rhapsody Tour’.
In a statement, Brian said: “This is a great opportunity, our last tour featured our most ambitious production ever and got us our best notices ever. So we decided to rip it apart and get even more ambitious! Watch out, America!”
Adam, 36, has been providing vocals for group on tour since 2012 and he cherishes his time on the road with Brian and drummer Roger Taylor as it’s a different vibe to the music he makes on his own.
He previously said: “I’ve never felt like working with Queen has put any sort of a damper on my solo work. I don’t feel as though we can compete with each other. I think that actually, they have coexisted very well, timing wise. The collaboration with Queen is little chunks of time that I go on the road with them, and then I’m done so it’s left me plenty of time to sort of flip-flop into my solo career.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West thinks Kourtney Kardashian is the sister most likely to sue her.
The 38-year-old reality star is often seen arguing with her siblings Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney and their mother Kris Jenner on the family’s reality TV show ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’.
Although their disputes have never resulted in legal action, Kim would not be shocked to one day be served by “ruthless” Kourtney, 39.
Jimmy Kimmel asked the question in a segment entitled ‘3 Ridiculous Questions’ for the episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ that aired on Monday (03.12.18), prompting Kim to reply: “Kourtney! She is ruthless.”
Jimmy, 51, followed up by enquiring: “Has she ever threatened legal action against you?”
To which Kim said: “Maybe as a joke, when I used her character in a video game [‘Kim Kardashian Hollywood’]. I paid her, still, but yeah, she wanted more.”
During the interview, Jimmy also asked the social media superstar when was the last time she had spoken to a telemarketer.
Kim admitted she blocks calls from random numbers but she is never rude to telemarketers because her husband Kanye West used to do that job before finding success as a rapper.

Dave Mustaine: Megadeth ditching politics to appeal to wider audience

OHMYGOSSIP — Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine has ditched political lyrics to make the band’s music more accessible.
The thrash metal frontman – who makes up the group with David Ellefson, Kiko Loureiro, and Dirk Verbeuren – has opened up on plans for the rockers’ follow-up to 2016 album ‘Dystopia’, and revealed the different approach he is taking to songwriting.
Speaking to The Metal Voice, he said: “We played in Brazil one time and we got a promoter that was a really bad guy, and he was charging the fans 275 dollars for a concert ticket, just to sit in one little spot there.
“And I found out and I came unglued. We fired the guy and we never worked with him again. ‘Cause the cost of living down there, it was three months’ work to pay for these tickets, and I figured that is so messed up — that is so messed up.
“So I’ve kind of toned it down a little bit with the political stuff to where it’s more about being a one-world kind of people, about the stuff that affects us as people, not so much as citizens of any government or nation. Why put an unnecessary wall up between us, right?”
Meanwhile, Dave also revealed how the band have even changed the way they approached the music of a song, and he explained they were now focusing on the riff first, and building from there.
He added: “A lot of bands have really interesting approaches to how they write, and I’ve tried just about every way to write a song over my career.
“And I found this way is probably the funnest, because if you have a riff and it’s not carrying its own weight and it doesn’t sound cool, how can it possibly sound cool if you put words over it?”

Hugh Jackman keen for The Greatest Showman sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Jackman would love to do a sequel to ‘The Greatest Showman’ if the script was “right”.
The Australian star portrayed the late American showman P. T. Barnum in the musical movie and would jump at the chance to don his top hat again.
He said: “If a genuine opportunity came up where it felt like the right thing to do, then yep, I’d get the top hat back out.”
However, the ‘Logan’ star admits that with Disney buying 21st Century Fox – who released the movie – it could prove a challenge to get the much-loved characters, including Michelle Williams’ Charity Barnum, Zendaya’s Anne Wheeler and Zac Efron’s Phillip Carlyle, back on the big screen.
He admitted to BBC Radio 5 Live: “We have a situation in the business where the company that did it has been sold to Disney, so there are a lot of spinning plates right now.”
Jackman says that musicals are hard work, but that the experience was one of the “greatest joys” of his life.
He continued: “I’m not sure what they would do, but it did take a while to get the first one up, and it’s not to be underestimated how difficult it is to get a musical up and going.
“But it’s clear to me and to everyone that people love these characters. I loved this movie, I loved this character and it was one of the great joys of my life.”
The ‘Wolverine’ actor also revealed that he auditioned for 2001’s ‘Moulin Rouge’, but the leading part of Christian ended up going to Ewan McGregor – who starred alongside Nicole Kidman’s Satine – and that he was also keen to star in 2002’s ‘Chicago’, but after not getting the former role, he decided to give up.
He told the station: “I really wanted to be in ‘Moulin Rouge’, I auditioned for that one.
“‘Chicago’ was another movie that I wanted to be in, and I kind of let that one go.”
Meanwhile, Jackman recently announced his first world tour.
The 50-year-old actor will perform ‘The Man. The Music. The Show’ for multiple dates across Europe and the United Kingdom, before he heads to the United States for shows in the likes of New York City’s Madison Square Garden, Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena and Los Angeles’ famous Hollywood Bowl.
Hugh will perform tracks from ‘The Greatest Showman’, ‘Les Miserable’ and more from Broadway and films, accompanied by a live orchestra.
The mammoth run of dates kicks off on May 13 at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, followed by shows at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, the Lanxess Arena in Cologne and the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam

And two days later on Tuesday (04.12.18) they are believed to have held the reception for their wedding at Taj Palace in Delhi, India.

Pete Davidson ‘blocks Ariana Grande’ on Instagram

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Davidson has reportedly blocked Ariana Grande on social media.
The ‘Saturday Night Live’ star – who has opened up about the impact online trolls and cyberbullies have had since their relationship started in May – is said to have blocked his former fiancee on Instagram.
In a screenshot shared by an Ariana fan account on Twitter, the singer herself appears to write: “I have never encouraged anything but forgiveness.
“I care deeply about pete and his health and would never encourage any kind of mistreatment.
“I haven’t seen any of it because i’m blocked but i want you to know that i would never want or encourage that ever and you should know that. i care about him deeply. (sic)”
Although it’s not known exactly when Pete blocked his ex, a source has told Us Weekly that he did so in order to “distance himself from her narrative for his health”.
The latest development comes after Ariana spoke out publicly to defend her former flame – who is reportedly dating again – from any online abuse.
She wrote on Instagram: “I know u already know this but I feel I need to remind my fans to please be gentler with others.
“I really don’t endorse anything but forgiveness and positivity. i care deeply about pete and his health. i’m asking you to please be gentler with others, even on the internet. (sic)”
The 25-year-old singer also told her followers she “will always have irrevocable love” for her ex, and said anyone getting a different impression from her recent music – including hit single ‘thank u, next’ – has “missed the point”.
She continued: “So please let whatever point you’re trying to make go. I will always have irrevocable love for him and if you’ve gotten any other impression from my recent work, you might have missed the point.”

Kim Kardashian West’s make-up mad daughter

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West’s daughter North loves to play with make-up.
The 38-year-old reality star has her own cosmetics line with KKW Beauty, and has said her five-year-old tot North – whom she has with husband Kanye West – is already looking set to follow in her mother’s beauty guru footsteps, as she already has a knack for “doing makeovers”.
Kim – who also has two-year-old son Saint and 10-month-old daughter Chicago with Kanye – said: “I actually had to put her on our P.R. list and get her own set of makeup this time, because she destroys all of mine when she sees it, and then I can’t use it for myself. So, she definitely loves makeup. If she loves it enough, she can definitely take it over, whatever she wants to do [when] she is old enough, she can do.
“But her new favourite thing ever is…closing the door [to her room] with one of her friends or her dolls and doing makeovers. No one can see until the final look is done or she will freak out and cry. She loves a before and after.”
And although the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star has received criticism from some fans for letting North put make-up on at such a young age, the beauty insists there’s no harm because the tot isn’t going outside with a “full face of make-up”.
She added: “I feel like my parents were a little bit more strict on me wearing makeup at that age. I had more play makeup that didn’t really work. So as long as we keep everything clean and don’t make too much of a mess on things, I’m fine with her expressing herself and having fun with it. It’s not like we are going out and she wants a full face of makeup. It is just at home and playing.”
But Kim would never feature North in an advertising campaign for KKW Beauty, because she knows she’d get backlash.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she said: “I would get destroyed [if North was in one wearing makeup]! They would say that is so inappropriate!
“Sometimes I get surprised by things, where I wouldn’t even pick up on [what upsets people]. But usually I know and I’ll even have to call photographers and say, ‘You know what? I really think that someone is going to say something about this. Can we tweak this?'”
