Benedict Cumberbatch set to return for Doctor Strange sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — Marvel is working on a ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel.
The studio has re-hired Scott Derrickson – who directed the original ‘Doctor Strange’ movie in 2016 – to helm the follow-up film, with Benedict Cumberbatch set to reprise the titular role in the superhero franchise.
Rachel McAdams, who played Stephen Strange’s love interest in the first movie, is also poised to return for the sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Marvel is currently searching for someone to write the script for the ‘Doctor Sequel’ sequel.
The studio has officially been tight-lipped about its plans for the project, but it’s thought that Marvel wants to have a script in place by 2019 and is eyeing a spring 2020 production start.
Ultimately, Marvel reportedly wants the project to hit cinema screens by May 2021.
Meanwhile, Benedict previously admitted to becoming “giddy” when he donned his Doctor Strange costume for the first time.
He shared: “I really was quite giddy. I really did end up giggling. And then, the second time it really hit home was near the end of the main body of the shoot.
“We were in New York and we were on Fifth Avenue, and there were as many paparazzi as there was crew. It was getting a little bit surreal, and we were running down Fifth Avenue, jumping to fly, and there was the Empire State Building in the same eye line, and it was just a moment of magic to think about the men and women who first crafted these comics on the floors of some of those buildings, in that town, and there I was playing on it.”

Margot Robbie felt ‘terrified’ by her Mary Queen of Scots role

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie felt “terrified” playing Queen Elizabeth I in ‘Mary Queen of Scots’.
The 28-year-old actress stars alongside Saoirse Ronan – who plays the titular role – in the Josie Rourke-directed drama, and Margot has admitted to initially being intimidated by the prospect of playing the British royal, revealing she actually rejected the opportunity when it was first offered to her.
Margot shared: “I automatically said no … I was terrified at the prospect but the script was brilliant – Beau Willimon crafted it in a very pacey, political way. You know, he wrote for ‘House of Cards’ and he’s brilliant.
“Josie, our director, this was her first feature film but she’s a very accomplished director in the theatre world and in her own right. And I loved talking to her.”
Margot also admitted she was eager to work with Saoirse.
She told CNN: “I knew Saoirse already through personal avenues and have always adored her work and wanted to work with her … so there was everything there that would make me be like, ‘Yes, I want to do this project.’
“But, the role itself terrified me and initially I said no.”
Meanwhile, Margot recently admitted she felt “embarrassed shooting her most raunchy scene in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.
The actress rose to worldwide prominence through her starring role in the Martin Scorsese-directed drama, but she confessed to feeling “very weird” during the scene in which she had to seduce her on-screen husband, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Margot said: “It doesn’t come across when you’re watching the movie, but in reality we’re in a tiny bedroom with 30 crew crammed in. All men.
“For 17 hours I’m pretending to be touching myself. It’s just a very weird thing and you have to bury the embarrassment and the absurdity, really deep, and fully commit.”

Charlie’s Angels reboot finishes filming

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot has wrapped filming.
Director Elizabeth Banks has announced via her Instagram account that the much-hyped reboot – which features the likes of Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska – has completed shooting, posting a behind-the-scenes photograph of members of the cast on her page.
She captioned the black-and-white image: “That’s a wrap. So much love and gratitude to these Angels #kristenstewart @naomigscott and @ellabalinska @charliesangels #charliesangels #bts #attitudeofgratitude #NextNovember why did I wear such a big hat #smiles #love #femalefilmmakers (sic)”
The movie was originally handed a September 2019 release date, but the studio behind the project – Sony – subsequently decided to push the release back until November 1, 2019.
Kristen, 28, previously admitted to being a fan of earlier instalments of the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ stories, although she’s reluctant to draw any comparisons with her own movie.
She said: “I know if I say this a certain way, I know that this will be written down. But it’s not such a bad thing. It’s kind of like a ‘woke’ version.”
The Hollywood star also hinted at how the upcoming movie will differ from earlier ‘Charlie’s Angels’ films.
Kristen – who is best known for starring in the ‘Twilight’ franchise alongside Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner – said: “It’s not just three [Angels]. Women across the entire globe are connected and helping each other.”

Nicolas Cage reveals inspiration for his Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse performance

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Cage took inspiration from Humphrey Bogart for his performance in ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’.
The 54-year-old actor has revealed he turned towards the late Hollywood star as he searched for inspiration for his role as Spider-Man Noir in the new computer-animated superhero film.
Recalling how he was cast in the movie, Cage explained to HeyUGuys: “It was a phone call I got from Sony Pictures that they were interested in me playing Spider-Man Noir and I met the directors and we met in downtown LA somewhere and they showed me what the movie was going to look like, and I thought it was going to be a beautiful, visual feast.”
Cage revealed he could sees parallels between Spider-Man Noir and a “1930s noir film star”.
He said: “They mentioned this character Spider-Man Noir and I had already done ‘Dog Eat Dog’ with Paul Schrader where I was playing with a Humphrey Bogart kind of style and affectation and I thought Spider-Man Noir could be fun to think about the voice as being almost like a 1930s noir film star, like a [James] Cagney or a Bogart or an Edward G [Robinson] or any of these guys that talked fast and had a certain style and a rhythm to their delivery.
“So Spider-Man Noir became a kind of taste of that … not a precise impression of Bogart but more of a mix of all their flavours in terms of the way they would talk and a memory of that growing up with those movies, so that’s what was most exciting to me about playing the role.”

John Legend’s Christmas album giveaway

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend is giving away free copies of his Christmas album on an online flower shop.
The 39-year-old singer released his first-ever festive record, ‘A Legendary Christmas’, in October, and now he’s teamed up with 1800flowers.com to offer a free digital download to anyone who purchases a bouquet from their ‘Legendary Christmas Collection’ from now until December 22.
The record features eight classics and six new songs, and the ‘All of Me’ singer is currently on tour in the US in support of the album.
Previously announcing the release and tour, John uploaded a promotional video featuring his wife Chrissy Teigen and their two children Luna, two, and Miles, six months, and said: “What’s up everybody it’s John Legend here. It’s sunny Los Angeles in September but I can’t stop thinking about Christmas. I just made a new Christmas album, I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time.
“We recorded eight classic Christmas songs plus six brand new Christmas songs just for you. The album is called ‘A Legendary Christmas’ and we’re about to have ‘A Legendary Christmas Tour’ coming to a city near you soon!
“November 15 through to the end of the year with our ‘A Legendary Christmas Tour’ and we want to see you there!”
The ‘Ordinary People’ hitmaker was busy working over the summer on the festive tracks but found it “surreal” because the temperatures were scorching at the time and he was singing about snow.
He said at the time: “Yes, I’m so excited. So we have five new Christmas songs on the album, and quite a few classics. I’ve been recording it all summer.
“Recording Christmas songs over the summer puts you in a good mood! It’s kinda surreal combining 100 degree Los Angeles summer with Christmas songs.”

Linkin Park’s Dave Farrell unsure about band’s future

OHMYGOSSIP — Linkin Park’s Dave ‘Phoenix’ Farrell doesn’t know if the band will reunite.
The ‘In The End’ group’s future is still unclear after frontman Chester Bennington tragically took his own life last summer, and the musician admits even if they were to get back together, it would be a “huge process” to figure out how they would do it without their late bandmate and could take a long time.
He admitted: “It’s a big question. I think the easiest way to answer it is probably just to say I don’t know. And then I can expound upon that.
“The five of us, we still love getting a chance to hang out. We hang out quite a bit.
“I think we will do music again. We all want to.
“We all still enjoy being together and being around each other.
“But we have a huge process to figure out what we wanna do and what that’s gonna look like.
“And I don’t have a timetable for how long that’ll take. “I’ve never been down that road [or gone through] that process completely, so it’s really hard to put a time or a day.”
Dave and his bandmates – also including Mike Shinoda – were overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and respect they received on social media following Chester’s death, and know their fans always have their back.
Speaking during SiriusXM’s ‘Volume West’ show, he said: “In fairness, one of the things that I think has been ridiculously cool about Linking Park fans and our fanbase is how supportive they’ve been of us in that process.
“Social media, notoriously, can be a really negative place, and it is, like, 99.9 percent positive — what I see — from our fans just saying, ‘We’re here. We want to hear what you guys are doing. We want to be involved, but we get it. We want you guys also to be healthy and happy, and do what’s right for you as well.’
“And we hear that message — we receive that, we get that from that community and from that fanbase — and it’s really, really something that is special, and I can’t say ‘thank you’ enough for that.”

Torvill and Dean actors banned from doing Olympic dance

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Torvill and Dean’ stars Will Tudor and Poppy Lee Friar were barred from dancing on-screen in fears of tarnishing an Olympic-winning routine.
The pair were banned from performing the film’s climatic ice dance in the new ITV drama about skating legends Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill – because programme bosses felt that no actor could do the gold medal-winning pros’ skating skills justice.
Screenwriter William Ivory said: “I thought we could intercut between the two but it just made it even worse.
It would be like Frank Sinatra singing and then karaoke. It’s a hard dance.”
Executive producer Emily Dalton added: “We hope people don’t feel robbed.
“But anyone who has seen anyone do the dance will know no one can do it like them.”
Torvill and Dean competed in the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo and made history by scoring 12 perfect sixes from the judges.
The triumphant pair became the highest-scoring performers of all time after skating to Maurice Ravel’s ‘Bolero’, and their performance was watched by a British television audience of more than 24 million people.
Will respected ITV’s decision to not include the dance, despite the fact that he and his 23-year-old co-star were given a crash course in ice skating when they signed up for the roles.
The 31-year-old star is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “The Bolero was their interpretation of the story and it is so personal to them.”
The ITV drama will cover the pair’s journey from teen skaters to global skating legends.
The original duo were heavily involved in the biopic to ensure accuracy but did not interfere in the production.

Rebecca Humphries ‘glad’ about Seann Walsh leak

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebecca Humphries “is glad” photographs of Seann Walsh and Katya Jones kissing were leaked.
The actress is happy photos emerged of her ex-boyfriend smooching his ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro partner in October, despite being in a relationship with her at the time, because she wouldn’t have known she is “not crazy”.
Speaking on ‘The Hotbed’ podcast, she said: “I’m glad that it happened this way, because otherwise I would never have known that I am not crazy.
“So I’m glad it came out, I know I’m embroiled in this television’s programme’s history now, I obviously thought it would be because I went on it and won it!
“But it’s just my circumstance and I can’t feel bitter about it, I can’t feel angry or vengeful about it, it’s just how it is, really.”
Following the emergence of the pictures, Rebecca released a letter online, revealing she had dumped the comedian and was taking custody of their pet cat.
But the single star has admitted she did not ditch 33-year-old Seann solely based on his and Katya’s kiss.
She said: “I’m not this puritanical Mary Whitehouse character who thinks that snogging someone when they’re drunk is not OK under any circumstance.
“I’m absolutely not perfect and I’m also an actress and I’ve experienced watching these sorts of things happen in professional environments myself as well, as an observer, I should say, so I know it can happen.
“I know these things happen but I hope that it’s clear that I wasn’t responding to that particular incident; it was the attempt by a person to make me question myself in order to get away with doing whatever they liked.”
Seann recently insisted he doesn’t think he did anything “that wrong” when he kissed Katya, claiming his and Rebecca’s relationship was “coming to an end” anyway.
He said: “F***ing hell. I only agreed to do it [‘Strictly’] to get out of watching it. For f***’s sake.
“I will tell you this and we will stop talking about it. But look, I don’t really need to explain myself but I will anyway.
“I was coming towards the end of my relationship, I was getting on with this girl.
“You spend a lot of time with your dance partner on the show and we went for a drink and one thing led to the other. Most of you have seen the result.
“I actually started to think to myself, ‘Hang on, have I actually done anything that wrong?'”

Emily Ratajkowski hides ‘dark’ sense of humour

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Ratajkowski doesn’t like to reveal her “dark” sense of humour.
The 27-year-old model likes to be open with her fans on social media, but she admitted there are some things she choose to keep private and she isn’t sure some of her jokes would hit the right note with others.
Speaking in Vogue Australia’s January 2019 issue, she said: “I don’t share it with the public. I think we’re in a very strange place when it comes to dark humour and what we can see and what we can’t say.”
And while Emily does make sure to share parts of her life with her Instagram followers, she explained because it is a “visual platform” she isn’t showing her true self.
Asked if she sees a different person on social media, she laughed: “Totally. Sometimes, I’m like: ‘Who is this person?’ It’s sort of one big self-portrait.
“One thing I definitely wish is that there was a better way to show on such a curated platform as Instagram all the sides of me, but it’s just too hard. There are a lot of sides, and Instagram is just a visual platform.”
Meanwhile, the star recently opened up about dealing with trolls online and the negative comments she sometimes gets for some of her more eye catching posts.
Emily has grown accustomed to nasty remarks as her career has developed, and she has been able to “separate” her online and real life personas.
She previously said: “I’ve learnt to separate social media comments and trolls from real life. And I don’t let the validating, flattering comments impress on me too much, which makes it easier to [ignore] the negative ones as well.”

Gisele Bundchen’s first date with Tom Brady was right after an appearance on the Ellen show

OHMYGOSSIP — Gisele Bundchen had her first date with Tom Brady right after an appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres’ show.
The 38-year-old supermodel’s last appearance on the daytime talk show was in 2006, and she has now called the host a “good luck charm” while revealing she went on a “blind date” with her future husband the very same day.
Appearing on the programme again on Wednesday (12.12.18), she told Ellen: “I went on a blind date and I met my husband, so I think you might have been my good luck charm.
“Thank you! 12 years later, I’m very happy with how things turned out, so I appreciate it.”
Gisele has been married to the NFL star – with whom she has son Benjamin, eight, and daughter Vivian, five – for almost a decade, and she recently revealed she “fell in love” with him on that first date.
She said: “For some reason, everybody thought they needed to find me a boyfriend. So, actually, it was my third blind date.
“When I saw those kind eyes, I literally [fell] in love, like, right away.”
Despite falling in love quickly, their path to a perfect relationship wasn’t easy, as just months into their romance, they discovered the quarterback’s ex-girlfriend, Bridget Moynahan, was pregnant with his child.
Writing in her book, ‘Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life’, Gisele said: “Needless to say, that wasn’t an easy time. But it was a time that brought about so much growth.”
The blonde beauty recently spoke about Tom’s son Jack, who was born in 2007, and dubbed him as her “bonus child”.
She said: “It wasn’t the ideal situation for anyone – there’s no manual to prepare you for that. But I’m so grateful for [Bridget]. I know this was hard, but I couldn’t imagine my life without [Jack]. I call him my bonus child. He opened my heart in ways I didn’t even know my heart could expand.”

Clint Eastwood still going skiing at the age of 88

OHMYGOSSIP — Clint Eastwood still skis at the age of 88.
The legendary Hollywood filmmaker’s daughter Alison revealed the family still enjoy ski trips together, and added her famous father is still as active as ever.
Speaking to Extra about her family’s Christmas plans, she said: “We all go skiing. We go skiing together and people are like, ‘Your dad still skis?’
“My mom’s 87 and she still plays tennis… I couldn’t feel more happy that I get to spend great time with them and that they’re both in great shape.”
Clint is keeping busy with his career too, taking on both directing and acting duties for new movie ‘The Mule’ – which also stars daughter Alison.
Asked if he prefers to be in front of or behind the camera, he admitted: “It depends. Sometimes you don’t want to do both ’cause there’s too much to do. Other times, it’s fun.”
Meanwhile, the movie icon – who has worked on the likes of ‘Million Dollar Baby’, ‘Dirty Harry’ and ‘Unforgiven’ – has also commented on the idea of retirement as he gets older, but he insisted it isn’t something you can plan for.
He told the Hollywood Reporter: “You never know when you’re going to give up. But I’m enjoying it.”
His comments on potentially calling time on his illustrious career come after he admitted he will “keep on going”, although he may be more selective with his projects.
He recently said: “Maybe I just don’t want a certain volume of work, but, no, it hasn’t lessened. I love what I do…
“I’ll probably keep on going. I feel good, but it depends on material. I probably wouldn’t do something just because it was marginal – I have to kind of think it has some validity and has some relationship to today.”

Sue Nicholls convinced Corrie bosses to axe Audrey loneliness plot

OHMYGOSSIP — Sue Nicholls convinced ‘Coronation Street’ bosses to drop a loneliness storyline she didn’t want to film.
The 75-year-old actress has revealed the ‘Corrie’ script writers were planning to play out a story in which her character Audrey Roberts started “drinking a lot” on her own at home, and while the star admits she enjoys a tipple of an evening, she didn’t see why Audrey would have to become “depressed”.
She said: “There was something pitched to me years ago that the storyline could be that Audrey was at home and going home drinking a lot – a bit true to life actually.
“Gail and the family would ask if she was lonely. I said I didn’t agree.
“I love my husband of course, but he isn’t with me all the time.
“I asked, ‘Why do you think somebody, of whatever age I was, that just because she works in the salon and goes home that she’s lonely and needs to drink? Not necessarily.’
“To be honest I can’t get wait to get home and plonk on the sofa, and yes pour the rosé, but it’s not because I’m depressed it’s because, ‘How wonderful, they’re all gone!’ ”
After Sue questioned the plot, ‘Corrie’ bosses decided against it.
She added to Digital Spy: “I tried to pitch it back to them that I didn’t want to play a drunk forlorn little thing. It is nice that they went the other way.”
Audrey reconciled with ‘Corrie’ conman Lewis Archer (Nigel Havers) recently, but he is expected to meet his maker next year.
And Nigel recently fuelled such rumours, admitting Lewis’ fate on the cobbles is “looking grim”.
Speaking about the speculated storyline, he said: “It’s not looking good – it’s looking grim.”
However, Lewis could return from beyond the grave to reconcile with Audrey.
When asked if show bosses could bring him back to life, he replied: “Of course they can. Of course, [death is] not [terminal].”

Speaking about his love of Khalid, 20, the ‘Rocket Man’ hitmaker said: “I discovered Khalid’s music a few years ago, and have been a fan ever since. We finally met when I played his home town of El Paso last year. It’s a thrill to be a small part of any new artists’ journey, and it’s been wonderful to see his star continue to rise and rise. ‘Young Dumb & Broke’ is a fabulous song, one of my favourites and I’m really pleased that he liked my cover enough to contribute vocals.”
Whilst the rising star took to Twitter to share how “crazy” it was to appear alongside his idol, writing: “this is so crazy
“Thank you so much @eltonofficial (sic)”
The ‘Candle in the Wind’ hitmaker is a huge fan of Khalid’s and even got him to sign his copy of his 2017 CD, ‘American Dream’ – which ‘Young Dumb & Broke’ was released on – when they first met in person.
Khalid recalled previously: “I had seen this documentary in which Elton John was asked if there was a new artist he’d be interested in working with.
“He said ‘Khalid’ and I couldn’t believe it. I checked and he was performing in my home town of El Paso, Texas, that same day.
“We pulled some strings and the stars aligned so I got to meet him. He was holding my CD in his hand and asked me to sign it.”
Elton’s Spotify Singles are available on the streaming platform now.

Sam Fender owes music career to inspirational teacher

OHMYGOSSIP — BRITs Critics’ Choice Award 2019 winner Sam Fender owes his music career to a teacher who inspired him to learn to write properly.
The ‘Poundshop Kardashians’ singer beat R&B star Mahalia and indie rocker Lewis Capaldi to win the prestigious prize but he insists if it wasn’t for the efforts of a special educator at his school he wouldn’t have been able to pen the lyrics that are creating such a buzz in the music industry.
In an interview with The Times newspaper, Sam said: “When I was 13 I did an oral exam on ‘Frankenstein’ and the teacher said to me, ‘You speak like an A-star student, but you write like a complete idiot.’ I sat back at school with her for two years until she got my writing up, and it became the first time I was stood at anything. All I ever wanted to do was play the guitar, and I began to see how I could combine my love of creative writing with music. That teacher inspired me to write, to put into words things I couldn’t say out loud loud. It was only a normal state school but it made me who I am.”
The songwriter grew up in North Shields near Newcastle in the North East of England and his working class upbringing is the inspiration for most of his music.
Sam, 24, wants to represent the life that many people in the UK are living and he isn’t afraid to tackle tough subjects like drug use and men’s mental health.
He said: “Spice was rife in my home town when I was a kid and it’s an awful drug. The song [‘Spice’] is about a boy who completely destroyed his life by smoking it. ‘Poundshop Kardashians’ is Newcastle on a Saturday night. Nobody wears coats – it’s all muscles and V-necks and fake tan. And ‘Dead Boys’ is about a friend who committed suicide. The Cure wrote ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ and it’s the same today; as a boy you’re not meant to show your emotions, but if you don’t have a job or any prospects, you’re going to be depressed and it will be much worse if you can’t express that. I hate the term because it’s become a buzzword, but it’s toxic masculinity.”

Bebe Rexha won’t compromise with creative control

OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha has walked away from “big” opportunities because of the lack of creative control.
The 29-year-old star struggled to get noticed before her song ‘The Monster’ was recorded by Eminem and Rihanna in 2013, and was often told she would be better off as a songwriter than an artist.
Even now she is Grammy-nominated, the ‘I Got You’ hitmaker always makes sure her collaborations are authentic, and is quite happy to drop something if it’s not going how she wants it to.
Speaking candidly in an interview with Euphoria Magazine, she said: “If I were ever put in a situation where I felt like I didn’t have creative control, then I just left no matter how big the person was.
“If I’m in a situation where there’s no collaboration effort and someone tells me what to do, I’m out.
“I’ve been in really weird situations where I’ve looked like an idiot having walked away from a really big producer because I wouldn’t have them tell me who I need to be.”
Even when ‘The Monster’ came out, Bebe was told she’d never make it as a pop star.
She recalled: “I remember when I first moved to Los Angeles and everybody was like ‘you should just go home this isn’t going to work for you.’
“I got signed to a record deal and a songwriter deal, then I had ‘The Monster’ (come out) and they were like ‘No. You have a record deal and a songwriting deal but you should stick to songwriting because you’ll never be an artist.”
Bebe is “proud” that she’ll never fit the stereotype of a female pop star and praised Pink for her empowering speech at the 2017 MTV VMAs, where she revealed a moment of insecurity her young daughter Willow, now seven, had about her looks and how important it is to be proud of who you are.
She told the publication: “When I was growing up, all my favourite pop girls were so fit and had abs and sh*t and I will never be that. I will never be a size 2, I will never be size 4.
I will be a size 8 and I’m proud of it.
“I respect P!nk because she said what she needed to say and say f**k you to all the record label people at the time and that’s something you do not do.
“There are women who have inspired me and inspired me to be in the pop world and that’s the reason I’m here today.”
Meanwhile, Bebe admitted that she never expected ‘Meant To Be’ to be a hit.
Speaking about the Florida Georgia Line-featuring track, she said: “I think ‘Meant To Be’ is one of those very special situations – not to be corny about it – but it was written in the stars.
“It’s just do different (and) unexpected and I think the best things in life are unexpected.
“I didn’t see ‘Meant To Be’ having the success it did.
“I knew it was a special song, but I didn’t think it would be that big.”
