Faye Tozer surprised to receive Strictly offer due to dance experience

OHMYGOSSIP — Faye Tozer didn’t think she would “ever be considered” for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ because of her previous dance experience.
The Steps singer is a trained choreographer and has starred in musicals ‘Tell Me on a Sunday’ and ‘Rhinestone Mondays’, among others, so the 43-year-old star – who has progressed to next weekend’s ‘Strictly’ final alongside Ashley Roberts, Joe Sugg, and Stacey Dooley – was surprised to receive an offer to be on the Latin and ballroom programme.
She said: “I didn’t think I would ever be considered for ‘Strictly’ because I come from a dancing pop group.
“I didn’t think that I would ever get the chance to be on there.”
Former Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley has come under fire for competing on the show, despite having dancing experience, but Faye insists she and the 37-year-old singer do not have ballroom or Latin dancing experience.
She added to The Sun newspaper: “There’s always somebody with more experience than others but the thing we have in common is that none of us have ever done the ballroom or the Latin and some people are just natural movers.
“They want to have some sort of standard and level because if everybody couldn’t manage it every week you wouldn’t be able to create such a beautiful and amazing show.”
Faye and Ashley topped the leaderboard on last weekend’s semi-final, but Lauren Steadman and AJ Pritchard were sent home following a total score of 54 out of a possible 80 after their two dances, which left them bottom on the leaderboard.
This comes after ‘Strictly’ host Tess Daly shot to Ashley’s defence last week – insisting she trains “as hard, if not harder” than the other ‘Strictly’ contestants.
The TV presenter said: “She’s got experience in a girl band dancing as a pop star.
“But ballroom dancing is a very different discipline. You never saw the Pussycat Dolls doing a Viennese Waltz, for example.
“It demands a different set of skills.
“She trains as hard, if not harder than anyone else. She’s in the studio 12 hours a day, they all are.”

Chrissy Teigen believes fashion is ‘kinder to women now’

OHMYGOSSIP — Chrissy Teigen thinks fashion is “kinder to women now”.
The 33-year-old model can see that the industry is now more inclusive than ever before because brands are committed to making clothes for women of all shapes and sizes, and this has happened because modern women “have more fight in them now” and are willing to speak out about issues likes body positivity.
In an interview with ELLE UK, she said: “Fashion is definitely kinder to women now. Some brands cater to a lot of different body types, so it’s obvious now who supports women and who doesn’t.
“I’ve never seen women have more fight in them than now. We’re ready to stir the pot and bring issues to light.”
The Sports Illustrated model has also used her own fame to promote body confidence and has posted on her Instagram account showing that she has stretch marks from her two pregnancies and fluctuating weight and telling her fans that most women have these blemishes which “everyone Photoshops out”.
She said: “Everyone Photoshops them out, It’s insane. And I don’t want anyone to feel like they’re the only ones. I was on a Victoria’s Secret shoot and it was a big turning point for me to see those women with scars and stretch marks and bruises. Who is to say it’s even a flaw?”
Although she tries to use her Instagram account to encourage female empowerment, Chrissy – who has two-year-old daughter Luna and six-month-old son Miles with her husband John Legend – is aware of the dangers of social media when it comes to teenage girls and women feeling inadequate when they see images they have been edited.
She said: “People feel bad about their bodies, and I get it. If I feel bad seeing certain things. What about that girl who has no connection to this industry? It makes me sad because that’s not really how it is.”

Dani Dyer wants to be classy and sexy

OHMYGOSSIP — Dani Dyer likes to combine “class” with sexiness when it comes to her own style.
The 22-year-old reality TV star – who also revealed she would never post any racy snaps online – has opened up about her own image, and explained she wants to avoid anything too “trashy”.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday’s You magazine, she said: “I have to have class in my clothes. Sexy but classy. I don’t do trashy.”
The ‘Love Island’ champion – who has since split from fellow winner Jack Fincham – also explained she is more of a saver than a spender, and it’s reflected in her big purchase since rising to fame.
Revealing she bought a belt – rather than anything too extravagant – she admitted: “A Guggi one. Expensive.”
Meanwhile, Dani – the daughter of ‘EastEnders’ actor Danny Dyer – dismissed the idea of having any kind of cosmetic surgery done as she insisted it’s important to embrace imperfections.
She added: “There are so many more avenues for people to judge and be judged these days. “I always say there’s a fine line between confidence and arrogance. I have no idea how people get to thinking they’re better than others. We all come out of someone’s vagina, after all.”
Dani and her former flame Jack recently split after six months together, and they revealed last week they have decided to call it quits and go their separate ways.
In a statement posted on her Instagram story, Dani wrote: “Jack and I have sadly decided to part ways. It’s been an incredible six months, and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but we’ve sadly come to the realisation that it’s not meant to be long term. We both plan top stay friends. I hope you’ll all understand. Love Dani x.”

JK Simmons says career-low moment led to ‘the best thing’ in his life

OHMYGOSSIP — JK Simmons admits one of the lowest points in his career “led to the best thing” in his life.
The 63-year-old actor quit as the understudy for the role of the Colonel in the Broadway version of ‘A Few Good Men’ after being overlooked for the main role, and he was subsequently cast as Captain Hook in a touring revival of ‘Peter Pan’ when he met his now-wife, actress Michelle Schumacher.
Simmons – who has a daughter called Olivia and a son called Joe with Michelle – recalled: “There was nobody on the planet, no other actor, that was more the right guy for that role at that production.
“It’s still to this day one of the five best parts I ever had that were the right marriage at the right time, right up there with ‘Whiplash’.
“I still get emotional about it; how could the universe be so unfair?”
But, ultimately, the decision proved to be a stroke of good fortune for the actor, who married Michelle in 1996.
He told the Guardian newspaper: “A pivotal moment, this devastating, horrible thing happened that led to the best thing in my life – that led to my life, my family.
“If the right thing had happened in that scenario, I wouldn’t have kids.”
Meanwhile, Simmons also revealed his determination to take on challenging roles.
The Hollywood star admitted he’s eager to test himself and to push his talents to the limit.
He said: “Sometimes I need to make sure that I’m not just being chicken***t and shying away from something challenging.
“That’s part of the joy of what I do, that I don’t have to do the same thing over and over again. I don’t want to get in that rut of, ‘Oh, this is not a JK Simmons part because it’s not, like, right in my wheelhouse.'”

Kim Kardashian West says Kanye West can’t be ‘suppressed’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West thinks her husband Kanye West can’t be “suppressed”.
The 38-year-old TV reality star – who has kids North, five, Saint, three, and ten-month-old Chicago with Kanye – has opened up to the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ cameras about Kanye’s emotion-filled rants in light of his controversial remarks to TMZ earlier this year.
Speaking after Kanye’s much-discussed interview, in which he described slavery as a “choice”, Kim explained: “When he gets ramped up, he can’t control what he says – he can’t let it go.
“He loves being ramped up. He’s like, ‘I feel powerful when I’m ramped up. I don’t want to be so suppressed. Yeah, I say crazy s**t, but I’ve always said crazy s**t. That’s why I’m Kanye.'”
Kim also tried to clarify Kanye’s slavery remarks, insisting he’d been misunderstood.
She said: “He didn’t say slavery is a choice, he was saying, ‘If you’re going to still be enslaved for another 400 years, then that’s some bulls**t.'”
During the interview with TMZ, Kanye said: “When you hear about slavery for 400 years … for 400 years? That sounds like a choice.”
To the interviewers in the studio, Kanye also said: “Right now, we’re choosing to be enslaved.”
However, the ‘Famous’ hitmaker – whose remarks prompted widespread outrage within the hip-hop community – subsequently took to Twitter in an attempt to clarify what he’d meant.
He wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “To make myself clear. Of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on a boat by free will.
“My point is for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved. (sic)”

She wrote on Twitter: “IT’S A BOY!!!!!! (sic)”
Kym found out the news at a gender reveal party, in which a cannon fired out blue confetti to signify Emilie is expecting a baby boy – and the ‘Corrie’ star had predicted her daughter would have a son.
She said: “Emilie is just days away from finding out the baby’s gender and we’re all on tenterhooks waiting to find out.
“We’re hosting a gender reveal party for all of our family and some of her friends. She’s going to get a cannon filled with pink or blue confetti that we’ll let it off in the garden.

Kelvin Fletcher quit Emmerdale ‘at his happiest’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelvin Fletcher quit ‘Emmerdale’ when he was at his “happiest” on the soap.
The 34-year-old actor portrayed Andy Sugden on the ITV show from 1996 to 2016, and admits he was in a “weird position” when he decided to call time on his Dales career, but felt the need to try out other roles.
He said: “Whether it was a brave move or a foolish step, you can call it what you want, but I made the decision to leave probably when I was the happiest I had ever been at Emmerdale.
“The storylines on Emmerdale were great, the show was great and the morale around the place was great.
“But I found myself in this weird position. They had given me this sense of belief and sense of confidence and I felt that artistically I really coming into my own.
“Having played the same character for 20 years I had a real appetite to do other things, play different characters and work in different areas.”
But Kelvin insists he didn’t want to necessarily move onto “bigger and better things”, because he cannot envisage starring in a “better” show than the ITV soap.
He added to The Bolton News: “I just wanted to try things which you’ve not really got the opportunity to do when you’re in ‘Emmerdale’ as your commitment is so full on.
“When I left ‘Emmerdale’, it’s not as though I wanted to move on to bigger and better things. For me there isn’t really anything bigger and better than ‘Emmerdale’ and those shows.
“They are watched by millions every night, they are the bedrock of British TV. Nobody is as proud as me as what the shows are and what they represent. I just had this real appetite to try something else.”
Kelvin is a dad to two-year-old daughter Marnie with wife Eliza Marsland, and the couple are expecting another little one.
In August, she wrote on Instagram: “So much to look forward this year! Feeling so lucky and excited for our family of 3 to become 4 (sic)”
She posted a picture of herself staring out from a building overlooking the Manchester skyline while cradling her baby bump.
Kelvin couldn’t resist making a little quip, writing “Looks like me already x (sic)”

NASA responds to Marvel fans’ call to save Tony Stark

OHMYGOSSIP — NASA has given advice to Marvel after fans called on them to help Tony Stark.
The first trailer for ‘Avengers: Endgame’ saw Iron Man’s alter ego – played by Robert Downey Jr – drifting through space after the ending to ‘Infinity War’ left him without the heroes turned to dust by Thanos and his own tech seemingly destroyed.
After fans jokingly asked the real life space agency for help, NASA responded on Twitter and said: “Hey @Marvel, we heard about Tony Stark.
“As we know, the first thing you should do is listen in mission control for ‘@Avengers, we have a problem.’
“But if he can’t communicate, then we recommend ground teams use all resources to scan the skies for your missing man.”
The character of Stark looks to be in a dire situation going into the fourth ‘Avengers’ movie, and co-writer Christopher Markus has confirmed fans won’t know what to expect.
He said earlier this year: “[‘Endgame’] doesn’t do what you think it does. It is a different movie than you think it is…Also…[the deaths are] real.
“I just want to tell you it’s real, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you will be able to move on to the next stage of grief.”
His collaborator Stephen McFeely added: “Put it this way. I think [‘Infinity War’] is a fairly mature movie for a blockbuster. It’s got a lot of fun in it, obviously, but boy, it gets very mature.
“The second one is also mature. We’re going to own these choices, and hopefully surprise and delight you and get you invested. It’s by the same studio, the same filmmaking team. They were written at the same time, shot at the same time.
“They’re clearly connected, but they are definitely two different movies, one of which is dependent on what happened previous.”

Green Day working on new music

OHMYGOSSIP — Green Day are working on new music.
Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong subtly announced he’s penning new tracks for his band in a response to a fan’s comment on Instagram recently.
He wrote: “I’m writing new songs for gd now.”
The ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ hitmaker took a break from the band to work on his latest side project, The Longshot, who released their debut studio album ‘Love is for Losers’ April.
The 46-year-old rocker has a long history of forming side projects, he’s also a member of Pinhead Gunpowder, Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network.
However, he has now returned to work on the first new music from the punk rock band since 2016’s ‘Revolution Radio’.
Last year, it was revealed the band had brought an end to their 21-year relationship with long-time manager Pat Magnarella.
The ‘Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)’ rockers first started working with him in 1996 after the release of their now-iconic album ‘Dookie’, and he was at the helm to oversee the band’s career as they went from strength to strength with hit singles like ‘American Idiot’, ‘Holiday’, ‘Warning’ and ‘Revolution Radio’.
The trio – completed by Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool – are now signed with Jonathan Daniel at Crush Music, who looks after huge artists such as Lorde, Fall Out Boy and Sia.
Mangarella also worked with Green Day as a producer on many of their side projects, including the official cast album for the ‘American Idiot’ musical.
The management boss – who has worked with the likes of Goo Goo Dolls, All-American Rejects and AFI – also ran Billie’s own independent record label Adeline Records.
Daniel established Crush in 2003 and in the last 14 years the roster has expanded to include the likes of Courtney Love, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Panic! at the Disco and many more.

Catherine Deneuve stars in Roger Vivier short film

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine Deneuve stars in a new short film to promote Roger Vivier’s new shoe.
Creative director Gherardo Felloni enlisted the French actress to promote the launch of the Tres Vivier item with a short promo titled ‘Duo des Chats’.
The film is inspired by Gioachino Rossini’s performance piece ‘Duet for Two Cats’, and it sees two opera singing, meowing twins having a fight over a pair of Vivier shoes in the lap of their mum (Deneuve).
In the end she gives them both a pair, and Felloi explained: “The idea of Catherine Deneuve gifting two young girls a pair of Roger Vivier shoes is deeply symbolic for me, it represents a passing down, from one generation to the next.”
He admitted working with the big screen star was intimidating, both down to her reputation and the influence she’s had on the designer’s own career.
He said: “First because she’s a great actress, and secondly because she’s one of the most important references of my career. If I had to think of an actress in terms of shoes and looks and beauty, it’s her.”
The short film – directed by Michael Haussman – sees Nadia Tereszkiewicz playing the twins, while Felloni himself takes on the role of the pianist.
Deneuve is no stranger to the brand, having irst collaborated with them when she wore the original version of the buckle pump in Luis Bunuel’s 1967 film ‘Belle de Jour’.

Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson ‘hated’ kissing scenes

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson “hated” their kissing scenes on TV film ‘Death on the Tyne’.
The 48-year-old comedian says smooching his 42-year-old co-star on the new murder mystery show felt “unnatural” because the pair are loved-up with their real life partners.
Speaking about how they handled their snogging scenes, he told Metro newspaper: “We hated them. Sian had the worst start to the first film – day one she was being stabbed in the toilet and the second was snogging me.
“We said, ‘Great, we’ve got it out the way so we can enjoy the rest of the job!’
“But by the end they wanted more shots and it was literally me, Sian and a boom operator in a room with a walkie-talkie going, ‘And lips! Neck! Now nuzzle! Nuzzle, nuzzle, lips! Again! Hug – hand higher up, Johnny!’
“It’s the most unnatural thing. Both of our partners were winding us up, going, ‘Did you have a good day snogging?’ ”
The ‘Benidorm’ actor has two children – a three year old son, Tom, with his wife Maia Dunphy, and 12-year-old son Michael from his first marriage to Catherine Donnelly.
Sian is married to Ian Gibson, with whom she has a son.
While they struggled with their intimate scenes, the actor quickly became friends with the ‘Peter Kay’s Car Share’ actress, because she lifted his spirits on set.
He added: “We hadn’t met before, but we got on instantly. We’ve become good mates. Sian is very much like myself.
“I’m in London with my son Michael but when I’m not, I’m in Dublin or back home in St Helens.
“Both of us have stayed within our community and our mates and are unchanged by the business.
“On set I’m a miserable sod and she’s a breath of fresh air.”

Cardi said: “Y’all gotta understand, there’s a kid involved. Ain’t no type of publicity that I would ever want that would have my daughter looking at me crazy when she get older.
“I just really hate how people say we trying to do this for publicity. Think we want to put our life out there for what – what we gain from publicity? Nothing. Why would you f***ing think that I would put my f***ing family in some bull***t. I have my heart on my sleeve right now, you know what I’m saying?”

The rapper – who married Offset in 2017 – explained: “I’ve been seeing a lot of people say that my relationship was fake. B***h, there’s certain things called love.

The 33-year-old model – who has kids Luna, two, and six-month-old Miles with husband John Legend – has admitted that her use of Twitter and other social media platforms has changed the public’s perception of her.
She shared: “Guys have always come up to me since I did Sports Illustrated. But now, they all say the same thing: ‘My girlfriend loves you.’ And I couldn’t be happier.”

The high-profile duo have been married since 2013 and Chrissy feels that in many ways, they are the perfect foils for each other.
Speaking to Elle UK magazine, she explained: “He’s quieter than me, which isn’t saying much. But he’s more thoughtful, whereas I’m spur of the moment.
“I can’t hide things very well. If I feel it, you’ll see it on my face, but he’s better at covering. I was never that big into music. Still to this day, I’m very Top 40. And I’m more emotion-based than him. I can see everybody’s side of an argument.”
