Stacey Dooley laughs off Strictly wardrobe malfunction

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Dooley says her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ wardrobe malfunction wasn’t “the end of the world”.
The 31-year-old TV presenter won the BBC ballroom contest on Saturday night (15.12.18) but accidentally flashed the nude leotard underneath her dress during a routine, and she has laughed off the awkward moment and joked it wouldn’t “surprise” her friends.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ on Monday (17.12.18), she said: “[It’s] probably no real surprise, to be quite honest. At least they were big. I thought, ‘They’re not fancy, they’re not even lacy!’
“It’s a built-in bodysuit, so they weren’t really my actual knickers. “But I didn’t even realise … It’s not the end of the world.”
The documentary presenter has admitted she didn’t expect to win the competition, and even on the show itself she was giving fellow finalist Joe Sugg a “pep talk” thinking he would be crowned the champion.
She added: “I honestly, honestly thought Joe had it in the bag. When we were coming down the stairs I told Joe, ‘Just enjoy it, soak it all up because it won’t happen again.’ I was sort of pep talking him, so I felt really calm!”
Meanwhile, her pro partner Kevin Clifton – who won the Glitterball Trophy for the first time – said he thought they’d missed their chance when Craig Revel Horwood was critical of their show dance.
He said: “When Craig killed us a bit with the scores in the show dance and we were bottom of the leaderboard, I thought ‘Yeah, no chance.’ ”

Hayley Atwell felt insecure in her 20s

OHMYGOSSIP — Hayley Atwell felt very “insecure” during her 20s.
The 36-year-old actress has appreciated getting older as she has become more confident as a person and has learnt not be so intimidated by people in social situations and at work.
Speaking to The I Paper, Hayley said: “I know what my taste is in people now. In my 20s, if I was at an event or dinner party and felt insecure, I’d worry I wasn’t enough. Now, I realise it’s generally because that person’s a bit of a d**k, so I’ll talk to someone else or just leave. Life’s too short.”
Hayley has also learnt not to be so “sentimental” about friendships she makes on acting jobs.
The English actress used to feel very rejected when people she thought she had formed close bonds with on set would cease contact after wrapping the project, but now she accepts it’s just the nature of the business.
She said: “I’d form intense bonds with people on jobs and think I’d be best friends with them forever, then be heartbroken when it finished. I’m not as sentimental now, and I trust myself enough to know I’m good at what I do, so if someone says no to me I look elsewhere rather than worry about persuading them otherwise.”
The ‘Agent Carter’ star will be seen as Caroline Mortimer, who is a cruel British mistress who lives on her brother’s sugar plantation in 19th century Jamaica, in new BBC One drama ‘The Long Song’, and she admits that portraying “unlikable” characters is an “exciting” prospect for an actor.
Hayley said: “Heroines have got to have the audience wanting them to succeed, so you can’t be unlikable, especially in America. Here, my favourite actresses are so likeable in how unlikable they are.
“Now I’m playing more multi-faceted and ambiguous characters. They’re further from who I am and that’s where the exciting stuff is, slightly on the edge.”
‘The Long Song’ is on BBC One at 9pm from Tuesday (18.12.18) to Thursday (20.12.18).

EastEnders’ Louisa Lytton felt ‘pressure’ to make rape plot realistic

OHMYGOSSIP — Louisa Lytton felt “a lot of pressure” to make her ‘EastEnders’ rape story look realistic.
The 29-year-old actress recently returned to the BBC One soap as Ruby Allen, who was sexually assaulted just weeks after being back in Albert Square, but she was confident the portrayal of the hard-hitting plot would go well after teaming up with charity Rape Crisis.
She said: “There was a lot of pressure on me and the show to do it justice for the survivors of rape.
“I’ve worked closely with Rape Crisis to ensure the way I act is realistic, so I knew we were safe in our portrayal of it.”
In real life, Louisa is hoping her boyfriend Benny Bhanvra will pop the question, after they moved in together in February, just four months after they started dating.
She said: “I want to get married but I don’t mind when Benny proposes.
“My family and friends are always asking when we’re going to get married but it’s like, leave us alone, why can’t you just be happy that I’ve met someone!”
The former ‘The Bill’ star admits she was happy to stay single until she met Benny, after which she knew he was “the one”.
She added to OK! magazine: “It just works, our relationship is really easy. When I met Benny I wasn’t looking for love, but he’s the one.
“I’d just come out of a long-term relationship and being away on tour had taught me a lot about myself and reminded me of how fun it can be to be single.
“It was the first time in a long time that I was happy being on my own. I got to the point where I thought, unless someone really amazing comes along then I’m happy to stay single. Then I met Benny and I thought, here we go, that’s me, I’m done.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Mecklenburgh wants Ryan Thomas to propose next year.
The 27-year-old star is keen for the 34-year-old former ‘Coronation Street’ actor to pop the question so they can marry, and have children.
Ryan told OK! magazine: “She’s always dropping hints about what she wants to happen. I think Lucy wants me to propose next year.”
Lucy replied: ‘You’d better get saving because I want a really heavy left hand.”
The loved-up couple are also planning to buy a house together in Manchester in the new year.
Ryan – who has daughter Scarlett, 10, with his ex and former ‘Corrie’ co-star Tina O’Brien – said: “We want to find a family home that we can stay in for a long time.”
Lucy said: “We’ve been together for a year and a half now so the time feels right to take the next step.
“We’ve already started looking but we haven’t found anything that we love yet.
“We want a four-bed place so we have room to grow into it and we won’t have to move if more children come into the picture.”
The brunette stunner admitted she wouldn’t embark in a relationship with someone if they weren’t “on the same page” as her.
She said: “We both know that we want to get married and have kids one day and we’re happy that our relationship is moving in that direction.
“I wouldn’t waste my time with someone if I didn’t believe we were on the same page about children and getting married. I know we both want the same things in the future.”

The Kooks Luke Pritchard once paid for Mick Jagger’s crab lunch

OHMYGOSSIP — The Kooks’ Luke Pritchard once paid for Sir Mick Jagger’s expensive crab salad and champagne after he left without paying.
The ‘Ooh La’ hitmaker was lucky enough to enjoy a dinner date with The Rolling Stones frontman, but didn’t expect to have to foot the bill for his luxury meal after having a natter about music.
Appearing on the latest episode of ‘Red Stripe Presents: This Feeling TV’, Luke recalled: “Yeah, once we went for lunch, which was quite nice.
“I actually paid for his lunch.
“Yeah, he had a glass of champagne and a crab salad.
“We had this great chat and I did ask you know, and picked his brains, and for me, it’s definitely Mick.
“He’s just the greatest, to me, from even when I was a kid.”
His bandmate Hugh Harris jokingly added: “Never pay for your lunch.”
However, the 33-year-old musician insisted he was quite happy to pay the bill as he learnt a lot from the ‘Satisfaction’ hitmaker – who The Kooks supported on The Rolling Stones tour in 2006, and again this year as part of their ‘No Filter Tour’ in June – during their chat.
Luke continued: “I guess, what I got from him was that he’s so passionate about other music.
“So he doesn’t really want to talk about himself so much.
“He just loves blues and rock n’ roll.
“He wanted to talk about other people and what they did for him.
“But yeah, I didn’t even notice, he just said ‘sorry guys I’ve gotta go now’.
“And I thought, he must have paid over by the counter, but no. Don’t get me wrong, I was happy to [pay the bill].”
Whilst Luke didn’t mind splashing the cash on his idol, he admitted he “doesn’t believe” in throwing money at expensive engagement rings.
Asked by host Gordon Smart if he was as generous when it came to getting a diamond for his fiancee and fellow singer Ellie Rose, he replied: “No, I don’t believe in spending loads of money on things like that personally, I think as well she knew which one [ring] she wanted.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez is releasing her own skincare line.
The 49-year-old actress-and-singer has revealed that she’ll be launching her own range of products so her fans can have glowing skin just like her and has admitted it’s taken a long time to create the range because she “doesn’t want to put just anything out”.
Speaking to Refinery29, she said: “I will be coming out with a skincare line; I’ve been working on it for a long time because I don’t want to put just anything out. It’s going to be something that works, that’s what you can count on when my name is on something.”
The preventative range, which will launch next year, will stave off signs of ageing and the ‘Second Act’ star wants to share “all the secrets” she’s learned over the years to stay looking great.
She said: “I want it to be something that encompasses all the things I’ve learned and all the secrets I have, and it doesn’t have anything to do with needles.”
Although the ‘Get Right’ hitmaker is sharing her skincare secrets she has previously credited her youthful complexion to a healthy lifestyle and drinking lots of water.
She previously said: “I don’t drink or smoke or have caffeine, that really wrecks your skin as you get older.”
J.Lo also revealed that she is “rarely in the sun” but always wears sunscreen if she does enjoy a day in the rays, and her commitment to UV protection is another reason her skin is in such great condition.
She said: “I am rarely in the sun, but if I am, I wear a lot of sunscreen, I’ve never been one to take a lot of sun, which is why my skin has maintained itself.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Meek Mill has claimed Nicki Minaj has blocked him on social media.
The ‘All Eyes on You’ rapper – who dated Nicki between 2015 and 2017 – was asked for his opinion on her new boyfriend Kenneth Petty and when he went to look at the rapper’s new man, he found out he had been blocked.
Asked about Nicki’s new man during a Twitter Q&A session, he replied: “I don’t feel nothing … and I don’t know that man to judge him … I went to check him out on her page and found out I was blocked.”
Meek had previously admitted he was left heartbroken after he split from Nicki.
He explained: “It was a win. I got Nicki when I was … like I came up. I always wanted Nicki my whole life. I use to talk … remember I had the rap about it. I bagged that. So that was a win of course. Of course breaking up with anyone you love is a loss. Period. Game time. Want me to make up a lie or something? It’s so easy to tell the truth now.”
Nicki and Meek reportedly split because they were “fighting on and off”.
A source said of their split at the time: “They were fighting on and off for a little while about a few topics that upset Nicki. They had a bigger fight and then called it quits. She is doing great and is just putting her mind and soul into her music at this time. She can’t predict the future, so getting back with Meek could happen down the road again, because even with fights, she will always have a love for him.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Sugg has confirmed his romance with his ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partner Dianne Buswell.
The 27-year-old vlogger shared a picture of himself with the 29-year-old beauty on his Instagram account, and claimed he didn’t mind losing out in the BBC One show’s final on Saturday (15.12.18) because finding love was a better prize.
Joe uploaded a picture of himself and Dianne together and added the caption: “I may not have won the glitter ball, but I’ve won something a million times more special. (sic)”
Hours after the message was posted, the red-headed beauty shared a clip of her new beau serenading her with James Blunt’s ‘You’re Beautiful’ in a wooden chalet while surrounded by friends.
Wearing a baker boy cap and grey T-shirt, Joe belted out the 2004 romantic hit with Dianne looking into the camera.
The confirmation comes after months of speculation that the established YouTuber and ballroom dancer had fallen for each away from the dancefloor.
The pair previously appeared on ‘This Morning’ together and didn’t deny a potential romance.
When asked directly about the rumours, Joe said: “It’s so nice I have met such a good friend in Dianne. We haven’t got time to think of anything else.”
Host Phillip Schofield asked: “Is that a no?”
Joe – who was laughing and blushing – replied again: “We are so busy dancing…”
Dianne and Joe managed to dance their way to the ‘Strictly’ final, but the lovestruck pair, along with Ashley Roberts and Faye Tozer, lost out to TV presenter Stacey Dooley and her dance partner Kevin Clifton.

Paul McCartney reunites with Ringo Starr at London concert

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney was joined by his former Beatles bandmate Sir Ringo Starr and Ronnie Wood for a rendition of ‘Get Back’ at The O2 in London on Sunday night (16.12.18).
The 76-year-old music icon wrapped up the UK leg of his ‘Freshen Up’ tour with a special treat for fans as he was joined by the Fab Four drummer and The Rolling Stones guitarist on the track which was part of his six song encore.
Hopes of a possible Beatles reunion on the night were raised when
Ringo was spotted arriving at the arena to take his seat to watch his friend play.
Beatlemania – the term used to describe the intense reaction of fans to Paul, Ringo and the late John Lennon and George Harrison in the 1960s – was in full swing again as the 78-year-old sticksman was surrounded by fans with camera phones desperate to get a snap of their idol.
After storming through an incredible career spanning set made up of Beatles classics such as ‘A Hard Day’s Night’, ‘Lady Madonna’, ‘Let It Be’ and ‘Hey Jude’, Wings tracks such as ‘Live And Let Die’ and ‘Band On The Run’ and songs from his latest solo LP, ‘Egypt Station’, another drum kit was wheeled onto the stage as anticipation grew for the reunion, which it turned out had been planned just hours before.
Paul announced: “We’ve got a little surprise for you. It’s a surprise for us, actually, it only happened today.”
After introducing Ronnie to the stage, Macca then said: “Ladies and gentlemen, the ever fantastic Ringo Starr.”
After the mind-blowing performance Ronnie and Ringo left the stage, with the latter admitting: “I don’t know about you, but it was incredible for me.”
Another highlight of the impressive 40-song set list was a rendition of McCartney’s festive classic, ‘Wonderful Christmas Time’, featuring the Capital Children’s Choir.
The sold-out concert drew a star-studded crowd with McCartney’s daughters Stella and Mary and actors Emma Thompson, Idris Elba, Simon Pegg and Rami Malek among those in the audience.
Coldplay’s Chris Martin, One Direction’s Harry Styles, Spice Girl Geri Horner and The Who’s Roger Daltrey and his daughters also witnessed one of the hottest gigs of the year.
After the holiday period, the ‘Fuh You’ singer will hit the road again in 2019, when he brings the ‘Freshen Up’ tour’ to South America.

The 34-year-old reality star – who has an eight-month old daughter True with NBA player Tristan Thompson – has unveiled a new look for the festive period which she simply loves.
Showing her new hairstyle to her 83.8 million followers on Instagram in a perfect selfie, Khloe captioned the snap: “You’ll never get the same moment twice. Appreciate this moment (sic)”
Khloe’s drastic colour change comes just days after celebrity hairstylist
Tracey Cunningham switched her from dirty blonde to platinum blonde with the help of Maisha Oliver, who is an expert in hair extensions.
The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star and Tristan, 27, are in a really great place as a couple at the moment as parenthood has brought the best out of both of them.
A source previously told Entertainment Tonight: “Now that she’s a mom, Khloe’s never been happier. She’s in such a good place now. She has wanted this baby more than anything and motherhood has proven to be even more incredible than she imagined. Her relationship with Tristan is so good … He’s stepped up and is not only an amazing father to True, but he’s been such a rock for Khloe. They’re really just so in love.”

Debbie McGee struggled with Christmas after Paul Daniels’ death

OHMYGOSSIP — Debbie McGee found the build-up to Christmas difficult after Paul Daniels died.
The 60-year-old star admitted she has struggled during the festive season after her husband passed away aged 77 in 2016, and she has learned to “deal” with it following the magician’s death.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’, she said: “You have to find a way of dealing with Christmas. I realised that the first two Christmases, I did panto because I felt like I needed to be busy.
“It wasn’t Christmas Day, it’s that build-up where everybody’s out shopping… Even now, listening to Christmas songs is when I get emotional.”
While it has been tough, Debbie has revealed this year has been easier as she has put up the Christmas tree for the first time, with her family rallying round to help her decorate.
She added: “This year is the first year that I put the tree up. Paul dressed up as Santa but would put a policeman’s helmet on so that our nieces and nephews couldn’t go near the presents.
“He loved those automaton toys, we had a Father Christmas ski slope around the tree. The family would buy him a new toy each year and our house was like a grotto.
“This is the first year I’ve got them all out and I’ve got one in my panto dressing room.”
Meanwhile, Debbie recently revealed she has started thinking about dating again and if she was to fall in love with another man she would consider tying the knot again.
She previously said: “I am just enjoying my life. I’ve male friends that have taken me to dinner or for drinks – and that is lovely. I would marry again if I met the right person but I am not looking.”

Emily Atack vows to stop editing online snaps

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack is deleting all of her photo editing apps after becoming more confident in the jungle.
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ star admitted she used to “slim” her snaps down before sharing them online, but the support she received while she was in Australia for the reality show has given her a boost.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’, she revealed: “I’ve decided, on social media, I’m deleting all my editing apps.
“You can edit your pictures until you’re blue in the face, I used to slim them down, I used to airbrush them… it was so bad to the point that, you slim it down, but you get completely rumbled because the wall behind you is bent. I’m not doing that anymore.”
The former ‘Inbetweeners’ star described the experience in the camp as a “blessing” because it gave her a break from technology and a chance take herself “out of the world”.
She added: “It’s so amazing. I thought I’d miss my phone, I thought I’d miss all these things… I didn’t.
“I was stripped of all of these things and I was the happiest I’ve ever been. You don’t have any of the stresses of everyday life.”
Emily, 28, also commented on speculation she is dating Jamie Redknapp – after meeting his father Harry on the show – and confirmed she is “single and happy” at the moment.
She said: “I’m not even going out with him yet and I’ve already ruined his life. Jamie, I’m so sorry, if you’re watching this, you poor thing.
“I met him once. He actually asked me for a photo a few years ago because he’s an ‘Inbetweeners’ fan. So yeah, we’ll see. At the moment I’m single and happy.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hollyoaks’ co-stars Nadine Mulkerrin and Rory Douglas-Speed have got engaged.
The real-life couple filmed their characters’ Cleo McQueen and Joel Dexter’s wedding ceremony just weeks ago, and the pair are set to go through the same again in real life after he popped the question in Amsterdam.
He wrote on Instagram: “She said yes!! Swipe for reaction >>> (sic)”
Rory shared a picture of the raven-haired beauty holding up her hand to reveal her engagement ring, and also a short clip of her punching and kicking the air in sheer delight after he asked her to marry him.
Nadine posted pictures of herself showing off her engagement band alongside Rory in a photobooth, and she added the caption: “Yes. @rorydouglasspeed (sic)”
The soap power couple’s engagement news comes just two months after they pranked their parents, pretending they had got married after filming their characters’ big day.
He said: “It’s been so strange filming a wedding as we are together. Even back when Joel and Cleo got engaged I was so nervous, I went bright red. I was terrified – genuinely I was not acting in those scenes!
“It makes it interesting and Nadine and I have a laugh about it. We sent my family pictures of us in our characters’ wedding day costumes pretending we had eloped!
“We joke that it’s a rehearsal for us.”
Joel and Cleo – who suffers from bulimia – were due to marry in a special ‘Hollyoaks’ episode to coincide with World Mental Health Day (10.10.18), but she had a heart attack before the ceremony was complete.

Mel B still in pain from fall

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel B is still “in pain” after being hospitalised last week.
The Spice Girls singer sparked concern for her health last week when she revealed she had broken three ribs and required emergency surgery on a “severed” hand following a mystery accident that was later revealed to have been a fall down stairs at a friend’s house.
Although Mel is on the mend she’s still suffering some discomfort as she heals up.
She said: “I’m still in pain but I had amazing treatment from the doctors and nurses so I’m very grateful for everything they did.”
The 43-year-old star was delighted to have her bandmates Geri Horner, Mel C and Emma Bunton rush to be by her bedside after the accident.
She said: “It was so lovely to wake up to my Spice Girls sisters.
“I was in a lot of pain and my ribs were hurting but within minutes we were all laughing – which hurt a lot but did me the power of good at the same time.”
Meanwhile, Mel is looking forward to Christmas because her bitter divorce from Stephen Belafonte last year left her so broke, her friend Gary Madatyan had to buy the gifts for her three daughters, Phoenix, 19, Angel, 11 and seven-year-old Madison, and the turkey for their dinner.
She told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “I’ve been through hell and back over the last few years. Part of the reason I’m so thankful and joyful about Christmas this year was that last year, it was a very dark time for me … You deal with everything life throws at you, good and bad, fair and unfair, and you try to be as happy and positive as you can. I honestly feel the universe is putting my world to rights. This Christmas just feels so special. I don’t need a single gift because I feel that so many of my dreams have come true.”

Jeff Bridges to receive Cecil B. DeMille Award at 2019 Golden Globes

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeff Bridges will be honoured with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2019 Golden Globes.
It was announced on Monday (17.12.18) that the 69-year-old actor-and-singer has been acknowledged by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for his “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment”.
A statement released by the organisation, which name checked his acclaimed performance in 1998 comedy film ‘The Big Lebowski’, read: “The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is delighted to bestow the 2019 Cecil B. DeMille Award on Jeff Bridges. Bridges’ brilliant body of work across diverse genres has captured the hearts and minds of audiences worldwide for more than six decades. We look forward to celebrating ‘the Dude’ and his remarkable career and philanthropic achievements at the upcoming Golden Globe Awards.”
Bridges will join an elite list of Hollywood stars who have made their mark on the movie business, such as Walt Disney, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Elizabeth Taylor, Harrison Ford, Jodie Foster, Robin Williams, Meryl Streep and Oprah Winfrey who have been chosen to receive the accolade.
Bridges has been nominated for six Golden Globes over the course of his five-decade spanning career with him first being nominated for the Best Actor prize in 1984 for his performance in ‘Starman’.
In 2010, he won his only Golden Globe to date, taking home the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his portrayal of down-and-out country music singer Otis ‘Bad’ Blake in ‘Crazy Heart’.
The Golden Globes will be held on January 6, 2019 and Adam McKay’s ‘Vice’ – a cutting Dick Cheney biopic – is in line for a major haul of prizes on the night after receiving six nominations.
‘The Favourite’, ‘Green Book’ and ‘A Star Is Born’ all have five nods each.

Kelly Clarkson: Aretha Franklin helped my shyness

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Clarkson overcame her shyness because of Aretha Franklin.
The 36-year-old star has paid tribute to the late soul legend – who died at the age of 76 in August after a battle with pancreatic cancer – and has admitted it was the ‘Respect’ singer’s music that gave her the confidence to pursue her dreams of becoming an artist.
Speaking on ABC’s ‘2018: In Memoriam’ – which will air on Monday night (17.12.18) – she said: “When I was little I just had such a hard time communicating, which is actually why I started to write before I even could sing. It was just to get my emotions [out], and because I was afraid to let down walls because so many crappy things happened. Aretha was the one singer that reached real down in me. Then it was like, ‘It’s OK to cry, it’s OK to be mad at something, it’s OK to get through something.’ ”
The ‘Piece By Piece’ hitmaker explained she was “afraid to be embarrassed” until Aretha helped break down “barriers”.
She added: “I feel like she’s the reason why I’m not so shy. I was terribly shy when I was a kid … just afraid to do anything because I was afraid to be embarrassed. And now I’m the complete opposite. Music really did give me that confidence and she really did stir something inside me that broke down those barriers that I had built up as a child.”
Kelly has opened up about her love for Aretha in the past, and in 2017 she revealed the influence she had on her recent album ‘Meaning of Life’.
She previously said: “These are the kind of soulful, bluesy songs I love. You have to have gone through some stuff in life in order to translate that emotion into them … Not to poo-poo on all my other records, because they’re all me too, but this is the sound of powerful women like Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, and Whitney Houston. They inspired me as a little girl who had nothing but thought maybe I could be something one day.”
