Emily Blunt: Marry Poppins is ahead of her time

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Blunt thinks Marry Poppins is ahead of her time.
The 35-years actress stars as the iconic nanny in ‘Mary Poppins Returns’, and Emily has hailed the character’s feminist credentials, describing Poppins as “empowering” and self-sufficient.
She reflected: “I think she’s quite an empowering figure to look at for 2018, and certainly for any time period.”
The nanny was created by author P. L. Travers in the 1930s, and Emily is convinced that she was something of a pioneering figure.
Speaking to Stylist, Emily explained: “How exciting that P. L. Travers wrote this woman who is set in the 30s.
“She’s a woman that can really things done, that isn’t reliant on a man in any way. She’s someone who really understands the importance of self-sufficiency.”
Emily has starred in a number of hit movies during her career, including ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and ‘The Girl on the Train’.
But she’s admitted that Poppins is one of her favourite roles.
She confessed: “I just think she’s so exciting. She’s empowered, she’s someone of great depth. I’ve never been more delighted playing someone. I just absolutely adored playing her, and I miss playing her, actually.”
Previously, the actress likened being offered the role to a marriage proposal.
Emily – who is married to fellow Hollywood star John Krasinski – opened up about the circumstances surrounding her casting in ‘Mary Poppins Returns’, admitting it was a career-changing moment.
She recalled: “It was like [director Rob Marshall] was about to propose to me! Then when he said it’s Mary Poppins, I was like, ‘Oh my God’.
“I like to imagine he got down on one knee. But Mary Poppins is a big deal for all of us – we all had to approach it with a sense of courage.”

Carrie Underwood’s insomnia struggle

OHMYGOSSIP — Carrie Underwood is struggling with insomnia.
The ‘Before He Cheats’ hitmaker is expecting her second child with her husband Mike Fisher and she admits she is “losing her mind” over her pregnancy insomnia.
She wrote on Twitter: “Dear pregnancy insomnia, Please go bother someone else…like dads. Go bother dads. My husband sleeps so soundly and peacefully and I’ve been awake for 2 hours (so far). How is this fair? Imma lose my mind! (sic)”
Meanwhile, Carrie – who already has three-year-old son Isaiah – previously admitted she is “so thankful” to be pregnant following three devastating miscarriages.
She shared: “It took us a while to get here … I’m gonna cry again. [I’m] just so thankful to find out Isaiah’s gonna have a baby brother. It was just great news. We’re excited … Balance is what it’s all about, no matter what your job is. Being a mom, working and dividing your time. It’s what we all have to do as mothers.”
Carrie had previously revealed she had endured three miscarriages in the last two years, and said she was left feeling “angry” by the ordeal.
She added: “I had always been afraid to be angry. Because we are so blessed. And my son, Isaiah, is the sweetest thing. And he’s the best thing in the world. And I’m like, ‘If we can never have any other kids, that’s okay, because he’s amazing.’ And I have this amazing life. Like, really, what can I complain about? I can’t.
“I have an incredible husband, incredible friends, an incredible job, an incredible kid. Can I be mad? No. [But after the miscarriages,] I got mad. [I thought], ‘Why on Earth do I keep getting pregnant if I can’t have a kid?’ Like, what is this? Shut the door. Like, do something. Either shut the door or let me have a kid.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West can’t wait to show off her Christmas decorations.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star is excited to share her decor ideas with her fans on her social media channels but says she won’t do the big reveal until Christmas Eve.
She wrote on Twitter: “Wait until you see our Christmas decor. I’m gonna wait until Christmas Eve to show you guys! It’s sooooo good!!! (sic)”
Meanwhile, Kim previously revealed she believes her authentic nature is one of the reasons behind her success and that of her siblings.
She explained: “I think our family is definitely really relatable. I mean we know that we definitely show a side that’s not as relatable, but I think it’s the balance of being in between, of seeing us come up and doing that with us and sharing those experiences with us. I think it’s because [fans] can sense our authenticity with one another.”
The Kardashian / Jenner family usually come together to create their own Christmas card every year and it appeared Kim was organising it in 2018 as she gave fans updates online.
She said at the time: “We’re on set today for a secret project … I’m here with all my sisters and my mom. Do you think I should pop up on them with a photographer and shoot our family Christmas card? I think I can get this done.
“All right, so I can maybe pull this off in about an hour, but do we want a sister [and] mom Christmas card? Or do we want all the kids in it? I mean, I can try and get the kids here and surprise everyone. What do I do, guys? Christmas card today?”

Audrina Patridge’s property split

OHMYGOSSIP — Audrina Patridge will keep her Lake Havasu property after splitting from Corey Bohan.
The ‘Hills’ star and her ex’s divorce was finally granted this week and it has now been revealed she will keep her stake in the holiday home in Lake Havasu, Arizona as well as the proceeds from her home in Orange County, which she recently sold. Corey will keep his gold medals from The X Games as well as his house in Australia.
The Blast reports that they will be splitting the money in their bank accounts and they will keep a hold of their own household furniture and jewellery.
Audrina and Corey were granted a judgment of dissolution on December 19 in Orange County but it is not yet known what the terms of the agreement are but the pair are said to be keen to take it out of court and instead use a mediator.
Audrina currently has primary custody of her and Corey’s two-year-old daughter Kirra Max but they are still working out a final custody schedule as well as the amount of child support to be paid. The former couple have been ordered to stay more than 100 yards from each other at all times “except for the brief and peaceful exchange of the parties’ daughter, Kirra Max Patridge Bohan”.
Audrina and Corey faced another hiccup in their divorce proceedings after Corey filed documents to legally prevent Audrina from featuring their daughter on the upcoming reboot of MTV reality series ‘The Hills’.
Corey requested that “neither party allow the minor child to be filmed or to appear in any reality television production without the express, written consent of the other parent” and “any prior consent for the minor child to appear on ‘The Hills’ reboot to be revoked and proof of revocation to be provided”. He also requested “a specific order restraining Audrina from allowing Kirra to appear on any reality television program including, without limitation, ‘The Hills’ without my prior written consent”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will spend Christmas in Norfolk.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are to spend their first Christmas as a married couple with Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, at Sandringham.
They will take part in various royal traditions like going to the church service on Christmas Day before heading back to Sandringham House for their traditional meal.
Guests are expected to arrive on Christmas Eve and they will exchange gifts on that day with the other attendees including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children – George, Charlotte and Louis.
Meanwhile, Meghan’s mother reportedly rejected an invitation to spend Christmas Day with the royal family. Doria Ragland – who is based in Los Angeles – was offered the opportunity to spend the day alongside her beloved daughter and her husband Prince Harry, as well as the other royals, but she has instead opted to remain in the US. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who are preparing for the arrival of their first child in 2019 – are set to join the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and other royals at Sandringham on Christmas Day.
Historically, it’s rare that non-family members spend Christmas with the royals, with Meghan’s appearance during last year’s festivities being a notable exception. And in contrast, the Duchess of Cambridge never spent Christmas with the royals until after her marriage in 2011.

The 39-year-old TV personality has posted a Twitter video showing off her eye-catching new ink, which she received as a Christmas present from her new boyfriend, with the loved-up bodybuilder opting for a detailed portrait of a wolf bearing its teeth on the back of her hand.
She captioned the video: “New tattoo!!!!!!! A birthday present from my amazing boyfriend. Done by Jorge Becerra at Abrakadavra in Ipswich. I love it so much!!!! (sic)”
Jodie seems smitten in her burgeoning relationship, and even admitted that her new man – whose name remains a secret – has helped to reinvigorate her sex drive.
The media personality had been single since splitting from her ex-husband James Placido – whom she divorced in April 2017 – and she subsequently made the choice to go celibate, swearing off sex and all men.
But Jodie recently admitted that her latest romance has led her to have a change of heart.
The outspoken star revealed that meeting her new partner had caused her to “rethink the whole being single thing”.
She previously posted on her blog: “There’s no easy way to tell you this so I’m just going to say it and then elaborate: I’ve met someone…

OHMYGOSSIP — Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have renewed their wedding vows.
The couple – who originally tied the knot in 2008 – have been spotted filming a ceremony to mark their 10th anniversary of marriage in Santa Barbara.
Audrina Patridge and Mischa Barton were seen in the congregation at the wedding and it is expected to be broadcasted on the new series of ‘The Hills’, TMZ reports.
Heidi and Spencer welcomed their first child last year.
And Heidi shared at the time: “We are so blessed to have a beautiful healthy baby boy. It was the hardest and most rewarding experience.”
Whilst Spencer added: “[It’s] officially the most lit day of my life.”
A representative for the couple also confirmed: “Heidi and Spencer are proud parents of a healthy baby boy as of this afternoon.”
Spencer has big plans now his baby is born as he revealed he wanted his child to sign up to social media as soon as he arrived into this world.
He shared: “This kid will have an iPhone at birth. I’m gonna teach this kid how to Snap when they’re born, like, ‘Put your finger here.’ You walk around, everybody’s making their own content all day long. We live in a new world where everyone’s a fame w***e, so I’m happy to let him be at an advanced level. I would just like my baby to be a professional content maker.”
And Heidi and Spencer have already been talking about having a second child.
She revealed: “We’ll wait for a girl [to paint the room pink] … You know, it took me a lot of years to convince Spencer to have baby number one. So, I’m just trying to put it out there. It’s not anytime soon, but you gotta work on these things is what I’ve learned.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Soulja Boy has defended Travis Scott amid a backlash over reports he will be playing at the Super Bowl halftime show.
The 26-year-old rapper is rumoured to be joining Maroon 5 for the show in February 2019, and many stars have already been outspoken about the prospect amid the NFL’s treatment of former quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who started the take-a-knee protest movement during the US national anthem.
But Soulja Boy told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I feel like everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It’s a very tricky situation because you are involving politics with sports, which should not be mixed.
“I feel like the NFL should be on its own and everybody should have fun … It should be a positive, fun, happy thing.
“You know what I’m saying? And everybody enjoying the football game. It shouldn’t be about all of the controversy behind it and the politics.”
Although guest performers for Maroon 5’s set are yet to be officially confirmed, Travis’ potential involvement has already been blasted by a number of music stars.
Meek Mill tweeted: “He don’t need that he on fire already! Stay strong in this s**t! (sic)”
However, Jennifer Lopez recently revealed she would love the chance to appear on such a prestigious stage.
She explained: “I feel like it will happen when it’s supposed to happen. I don’t sweat stuff like that It would be a great thing.
“I would be totally open for it and we’ll see. You never know.”
By contrast, Rihanna previously turned down the gig in support of Kaepernick, who started the protest movement amid racial injustice in the country.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Stewart and Stella Maxwell have split.
The ‘Twilight’ star reportedly separated from the Victoria’s Secret Angel “around a month ago”.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: “They stopped seeing eye to eye and were living very different lives. [Distance] didn’t help.”
Kristen opened about her sexuality on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and says she did it because it “worked for the joke” she was telling in her monologue. She told viewers she was “so gay” after previously having spent years being vague about her sexuality.
At the time, Kristen was making a joke about President Donald Trump who tweeted her numerous times after it was revealed she cheated on her ex-boyfriend and ‘Twilight’ co-star Robert Pattinson, as she said the former ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ star would likely hate her more now because “[she’s] so gay dude”.
Speaking about her decision to use the programme to come out, Kristen said: “Honestly, I thought it was just funny. Not to diminish the point because I think that saying things sort of bluntly is absolutely important, but at the same time, the only reason I haven’t ever done that is because there is an ambiguity to that and I wanted things to be really real for me. But honestly, it just worked for the joke.”
And the actress admits she didn’t purposely use the platform to do something that was going to be “so important”, but is “utterly proud” that people have thanked her for speaking publicly about her sexuality.
Kristen shared: “It wasn’t like this, ‘Let’s do this thing that’s going to be so important’, I just thought it was a nice slight. And also yeah, 100 percent, I’m so utterly proud that I’ve had so many people be like ‘Thank you’, and I’m like ‘No, thank you’. It’s kind of mutual. It’s full circle.”

Emily Atack ‘wasn’t needed’ for The Inbetweeners one-off special

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack will not be appearing in ‘The Inbetweeners’ one-off special on New Year’s Day.
The 28-year-old actress played Charlotte Hinchcliffe on the Channel 4 sitcom – which featured the hilarious foursome Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas in their awkward years of adolescence – and while she was originally “booked” to appear on the programme, she was told shortly after she “was no longer needed”.
Speaking on Capital FM, Emily said: “Well, unfortunately I don’t really know what happened here, I was booked to do it – I was very much looking forward to doing it – but then I think the day before I was told I was no longer needed for it.
“It’s alright, these things do happen, I think they just decided to go a different route with it or it was to do with production, timings and things.
“Yeah, but it’s fine, you know what these things do happen and they’re just going a different route I think and I wish them all the best and it’s going to be great.”
The former ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ star confessed the show was an “incredible part” of her life and joked she’ll only be tuning on New Year’s Day because there might be clips of her featured.
When asked if she’d be watching, Emily hilariously replied: “Nah… I’m joking. Of course I’m joking.Of course I’ll be watching it because hopefully they’ll be clips of me on there!
“Of course I’ll be watching, I’ll always support them, that programme was an incredible part of my life and it always will be.”
The two hour special is set to celebrate all three TV series and both movies with behind the scenes footage, unheard stories and contributions from celebrity fans.
The programme will be the first time the four stars have appeared on the small screen together since the final episode ‘The Camping Trip’ in 2010.
It will also rank the show’s funniest ever moments, including categories like Best Sex Scene and Best Ever Moment.

OHMYGOSSIP — Neil Jones reveals he has “never been away” from his wife Katya Jones.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star previously shut down divorce rumours after Katya was caught locking lips with her BBC One dance partner Seann Walsh, and the ballroom pro now has broken his silence as he dismissed any idea of a split in their relationship.
Taking part in a Q&A on Instagram on Thursday night (21.12.18), one fan asked: “Are you back with Katya?”
Sharing a picture of the happy couple, Neil replied: “I’ve never been away from Katya”.
Meanwhile comedian Seann’s ex, Rebecca Humphries, has spoken out about the kiss and confessed she will seek a therapist to help her with “trust” issues.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Rebecca said: “I am getting on with things but when it comes to dating, it will be tricky to trust anyone again.
“Still, if it takes seeing a therapist to help me learn how to, I’ll do it. I’d rather find a way through this.
“Seann and I haven’t stayed in touch. We won’t be in contact again.”
Seann previously apologised for his “mistake” when he and Katya appeared on BBC Two’s ‘Strictly – It Takes Two’ spin-off earlier this year.
He said: “I made a mistake, which I’m very sorry for – sorry for the hurt that I’ve caused.
“You never think about the extent of the damage that you’re going to do, in a moment of, you know the mistake that you’ve made.
“I’m not perfect, far from it. Our relationship wasn’t perfect. That doesn’t mean I wanted it to end the way it finally did, and I’m very sorry for that.
“I feel it’s also important for me to say that the people that know me the most, that love me, they know that I am not the person I’m being portrayed as. I’m still sorry for what I did, but it’s very important for me to get that out there.”

Debbie McGee sometimes struggles to say Paul Daniels’ name

OHMYGOSSIP — Debbie McGee revealed that some days she is so grief-stricken she can’t mention her late husband’s name.
While giving advice to a caller on a grief helpline for Channel 4’s ‘Celebrity Help Line’, the 60-year-old stage performer admitted that although there are some days she struggles to think about magician Paul Daniels – who passed away aged 77 in 2016 – she is “grateful” to have had him in her life for so long.
She said: “I think I’m only six or eight months further on than you are, and when I’m having my really bad moments I just keep saying to myself, ‘You can’t bring them back.’
“You have to just feel lucky that you had that wonderful person in your life for that length of time.
“The one thing I’ll say to you now is that the good days outweigh the bad days. There are days where I can’t mention Paul’s name and there are other days I can, I sometimes have to tell myself off.
“That’s our survival mechanism. Your life is going to go on and you will be happy.”
Debbie was replying to a caller who asked her whether she believes in the afterlife.
She added: “I’ve always believed in life after death, and then when I married Paul he didn’t at all.”
Debbie went on to ask the caller: “Why do you want to believe in it? Is it because you want to believe you will end up with them one day?
“I think that’s really important to you and that’s something that you should believe in.
“The only thing that would worry me about that is that it doesn’t allow you to move on but at the moment your grief is still so raw that that’s not in your head at all. Life has to go on without them.”

Jack Osbourne’s divorce finalised

OHMYGOSSIP — Jack Osbourne has finalised his divorce.
The 33-year-old television personality will started 2019 with a new chapter after he and his ex-wife Lisa Stelly filed the final paperwork about their split.
The couple have made an agreement about custody of their children – Andy, three, Pearl, six, and Minnie, 10 months – as well as arrangements about child support, The Blast reports.
Lisa filed for divorce back in May after six years of marriage.
They wrote in a joint statement at the time: “Hello! So the news about us separating has probably come as a bit of a shock to everyone. But, we just want to clear the air and share with you what’s going on. So, first and foremost, we absolutely still love each other. Our family is the most important thing in our lives, and we tried everything we could for many years to make this work.
“What’s best for our family right now is that we separate lovingly, and remain best friends who are committed to raising our children together. We had seven beautiful years of being a couple, filled with the most amazing moments and we will be eternally grateful to one another for that. We also have three wonderful children who we cherish more than anything. We are disappointed but feel confident that we will continue to grow our relationship as co-parents and best friends. Lots of love, Jack and Lisa. (sic)”
Meanwhile, Jack previously revealed how he feels there is an “ignorant freedom” for those who are not parents.
He explained: “There’s an ignorant freedom without being a parent. You don’t realise how you can do things at ease, and you can just jump on a plane and you can just get in your car and go. There’s certain things that you don’t [understand how easy they are] until [they’re gone]. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world … I think I’m a pretty realistic parent. I like to try and ride the line of being fun, but yet mean when I say, ‘This is how it’s gonna be.'”

Hugh Grant bemused by festive popularity

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Grant “doesn’t know” why ‘Love Actually’ is still popular.
The 58-year-old actor thinks it’s “nice” the 2003 ensemble romantic comedy – in which he played the Prime Minister – is still screened over the festive season but he’s amazed it’s so well-loved.
He said: “I don’t know why ‘Love Actually’ is still so popular.
“Everyone watches it at Christmas, which is nice.
“Do I remember anything from filming? I mean, there was the horror of that scene where I had to dance around.
“I suspect that was the most excruciating scene ever committed.
“It wasn’t easy for an Englishman in his 40s to do at 7 in the morning, stone-cold sober.”
While the ‘Four Weddings and A Funeral’ actor’s career has moved away from romantic comedies in recent years, he’s still “very proud” of his previous work – though he’s also thankful being “old and wrinkly” means he now gets offered different projects.
He said in a recent interview: “I don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth with romantic comedies.
“I’m proud of them and they are very popular.
“If I get home from the pub and switch on the TV, there I am, chatting up some girl.
“I am grateful for them, but I’m also very pleased to be through with them.
“Different stuff comes across my desk now that I’m old and wrinkly.”
Hugh recently hailed his ‘Sense and Sensibility’ and ‘Love Actually’ co-star Emma Thompson as a “genius”.
But he added: “She is not remotely sane. She’s nuttier and nuttier as the years go.”
And he thinks ‘Bridget Jones’ Diary’ actress Renee Zellweger is equally “nutty”, but they get on very well.
He said: “Renee loves me and I love Renee. Well, I mean she’s in the same category as Emma Thompson, in terms of lunacy, but an amazing actress of course, and very generous.”

Aled Jones embarrassed by song

OHMYGOSSIP — Aled Jones used to run away whenever he heard ‘Walking in the Air’.
The 47-year-old singer-and-presenter shot to fame in 1985 when he was just 14 after he was asked by chance to record a version of ‘The Snowman’ theme and had no idea how big the song would become – or how embarrassing he would find it.
He wrote in a guest column for Closer magazine: “‘Walking in the Air’ came about by chance in 1985.
“I went into the studio to record something for a Toys R Us advert and they asked me to sing the song.
“The boy who originally sang it in the film, his voice had broken, so I sang the advert version.
“Little did I know it would still be played over 30 years later.
“When I was at school, I would go bright red every time I heard it – if I was in a shop and the song began to play, I’d have to run out.”
And the ‘Songs of Praise’ star – who has children Emilia, 16, and Lucas, 13, with wife Claire Fosset – admitted the song has always been banned in his own household.
He added: “My family don’t play it though – they know better.
“They used to laugh and point at me when it was played in public.”
Luckily, Aled is much less embarrassed about his new music.
He said: “Fortunately, I can listen to the album I did with Russell Watson this year, ‘In Harmony’. We’re really proud of it.”

The former Atomic Kitten singer – who has Molly, 17, and Lilly-Sue, 15, with ex-husband Brian McFadden, Heidi, 11, and Max, 10, with second spouse Mark Croft and four-year-old Dylan-Jorge with third husband George Kay – gets one gift from her mum but it doesn’t upset her as she just wants her kids to have a great day.
She said: “I just want my kids to be happy. o one gets me anything – I do the shopping myself. I buy my own presents.
“Actually, my mum gets me pyjamas every year and that’s it.
“But look, it’s not about me, it’s about the kids.”
The 38-year-old star doesn’t worry about how much she spends on her brood because most of them rely just on her for gifts.
Asked how much she spends on the kids, she told new! magazine: “About £500 each, but you have to remember that the youngest three only have me.
“If I don’t buy for them, no one will.
“They have no aunties or uncles – there’s no one on the other side of the family who would get them anything.
“Mark hasn’t seen them for years and I’m not speaking about George.”
Kerry is looking forward to indulging in her favourite foods on December 25 and isn’t worried about putting on weight because she’s been working so hard in pantomime.
She said: “I think I’m the only person who must lose weight at Christmas. It’s because panto is so gruelling, so I’m not too worried about bingeing on the day.”
