Strictly’s AJ Pritchard rushed to hospital following nightclub attack

OHMYGOSSIP — AJ Pritchard and his brother Curtis were punched and kicked by “possessed” yobs during a sickening nightclub attack.
The 24-year-old ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star and his 22-year-old brother were taken to hospital after they were attacked by a group of men at Nakatcha club in Nantwich, Cheshire.
A witness said: “They were like men possessed.”
The pair were enjoying a night out with friends when the incident occurred.
One clubber told The Sun newspaper: “The brothers were having a relaxed evening with friends and AJ was posing for selfies with a few fans.
“But the eight lads took a disliking to the brothers and pushed Curtis hard. Then they started punching them, like they were possessed.
“Curtis had fallen to his knees and was being punched in the face and body. They were also punching AJ in his face, in his ribs and legs. AJ dragged Curtis out of the circle and pulled him to another part of the club.
“AJ was left with marks from rings on his face. Curtis looked like he had passed out and AJ had to carry him to safety. It was like a scene from a wild west film with the bouncers fighting this group.”
AJ – whose real name is Alex James – joined ‘Strictly’ in 2016 and has danced with gymnast Claudia Fragapane, singer Mollie King and Paralympian Lauren Steadman.

Philip Schofield predicts Gemma Collins will quit Dancing on Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Philip Schofield thinks Gemma Collins will quit ‘Dancing on Ice’ before the first show.
The 56-year-old presenter has admitted he’s worried that the 37-year-old reality TV star will withdraw from the ITV show when it commences in January.
Philip said: “I’ve said it to Gemma, ‘If you make the first show it’ll be a miracle’, and she does seem very committed.
“We all know Gemma for being a bit of a quitter so I’m hoping she’ll be there for that first show.”
But Philip added that if Gemma does appear on the programme, she will win the public over and impress them with her surprising dancing talents.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I think the nation is intrigued to see Gemma.
“I think she is surprisingly good – so I think that would be great to see.”
Gemma famously quit ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ after just three days in 2014.
And the accident-prone star has admitted she is worried about injuring herself on the show.
She said: “Knowing me I’m going to break my leg, my arms and my back all in one week, but let’s hope I do it in style.”
Gemma also revealed she is determined to take the contest seriously and be more than the “fat joke” contestant this season.
She said: “Everyone thinks I’m the fat joke on the show but whatever’s going to happen in my life, I can do this.
“I can do it. And I’m going to prove every f***er out there wrong. People will be eating their words. That’s how I feel.”

BBC announces next Agatha Christie series

OHMYGOSSIP — The BBC has announced another Agatha Christie series following ‘The ABC Murders.”
The broadcaster has revealed that ‘Death Comes as the End’ – another three-part drama – will premiere in 2019, following the success of this year’s series, which stars Rupert Grint and John Malkovich.
Writer Sarah Phelps will be stepping down for the next adaptation and ‘Vanity Fair’ writer Gwyneth Hughes will take over, according to the Radio Times.
Sarah helmed the previous BBC Christie dramas ‘And Then There Were None’, ‘The Witness for the Prosecution and Ordeal by Innocence’.
‘Death Comes as the End’ – which will be set in ancient Egypt – is one of four Christie novels that have never been adapted for screen before.
‘The ABC Murders’ – which starred John Malkovich as Hercule Poirot and Rupert Grint as Inspect Crome – divided viewers with its first episode but was receiving rave reviews from fans by the end.
And Rupert has revealed he relished the “dark side” of appearing in an Agatha Christie thriller.
He told the Radio Times: “I like the dark side,
“I’ve always been into crimes and murderers. That side of humanity has always interested me.”
Rupert enjoyed playing “someone with authority” because he is used to playing the “vulnerable, nerdy sidekick”.
He also gushed that John brought “psychotic darkness” to his portrayal of the famous detective.

Keira Knightley likens Dominic West to ‘a walrus’

OHMYGOSSIP — Keira Knightley has likened smooching Dominic West to “kissing a walrus”.
The 33-year-old actress stars alongside Dominic in the new biographical drama ‘Colette’, which is based upon the life of the French novelist Colette, and Keira has admitted she hated having to kiss her co-star because of his “horrific facial hair”.
She told ‘The Graham Norton Show’: “He had to wear a fat suit, which was problematic for him in 40-degree temperatures, so they created a cooling system inside so it looked like he had a colostomy bag on the side.
“Dominic is a very sexy man and he had to wear the suit, the bag and had horrific facial hair. I had been quite excited at the prospect of kissing such an attractive man at the beginning, I thought it would be quite nice, but it was sort of like kissing a walrus!”
Meanwhile, Keira recently acknowledged that her breakdown helped her to cope with motherhood.
The actress – who has a three-year-old daughter called Edie – believes that suffering a breakdown at the age of 22 helped her to deal with the challenge of parenting.
She explained: “Your body just created life and now it’s shifting in order to feed it. That’s monumental and we’re all expected to go: ‘Oh no, all good, I’m groovy – I haven’t slept, I’m fine. That I’m able to forgive myself for not being brilliant [as a parent] every f**king day is probably because of that breakdown.”
Keira also hit out at how women are portrayed in society, saying that they are forced to be “sexy” or a “virgin-mother”.
She said: “Before motherhood, you’re sexy, but if we talk about the whole vagina-splitting thing then that’s terrifying; there’s no sex there, so what we do is go into the virgin-mother retrofit, that’s nice and safe.
“The problem with those two images is I think very few women actually identify with them. Women are meant to play the flirt or the mother in order to get their voice heard. I can’t. It makes me feel sick.”

Ciara wants love songs to make a comeback

OHMYGOSSIP — Ciara hopes love songs make a comeback.
The 33-year-old singer – who is a huge fans of stars such as Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson – has revealed she hopes love songs enjoy a renaissance in 2019.
Asked whether she wishes there’s a musical trend that she hopes would go away in 2019, she replied: “Rather than saying less of something, I think it’d be cool to have more love songs – like back in the days when you’d hear all these different songs from Luther Vandross to Stevie Wonder to Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.
“That was a very special era. Even Janet! One thing I love about Janet is that she always talked about something [in her songs], and I think that our world needs more of that.
“So I think it’d be cool to have a little bit more of the music that enlightens us and inspires us and spreads love. Because I think our world needs a lot more love amidst all the chaos that’s happening.”
Ciara also admitted to being a bit “weird” about listening to her own music.
The ‘Level Up’ hitmaker – who has kids Future, four, and 20-month-old Sienna – revealed she only turns on her own songs in very specific circumstances.
She told Billboard: “You know, it’s funny, I’m kind of weird about listening to my own music.
“I don’t like listening to my stuff unless I’m preparing for the stage and stuff like that. But it’s inevitable that I listen to myself in this house because Future and Sienna, especially when it came out, literally had the house playing ‘Level Up’.
“At breakfast, it had to be played. Or we have dance parties sometimes in the house with the kids, and it’s a go-to, especially with Sienna – she’s trying to do some of the moves. It’s so sweet. So I actually kind of have to listen to myself.”

Jodie Marsh’s ‘mystery boyfriend’ revealed

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Marsh’s mystery boyfriend has been identified as Netflix film director Wayne Lennox.
The 40-year-old star has teased fans with her latest romance for weeks, posting behind-the-scenes shots of them together on her social media accounts – but she’s also remained tight-lipped about his identity.
However, according to The Sun Online, Jodie’s new man is Wayne Lennox, who helmed a film called ‘AmStarDram’ with his brother Lee earlier this year.
The movie is available on Netflix and is the first feature film directed by the siblings, who have previously helmed a number of music videos.
Jodie recently sparked speculation about a potential engagement to Wayne after she posted a shot of herself wearing a sparkling ring on her engagement finger on Instagram.
But the outspoken star – who is believed to have met Wayne in October – has kept silent amid the speculation.
Jodie made the choice to go celibate, swearing off sex and all men, after her split from her ex-husband James Placido.
But she recently admitted that her latest romance has led her to have a change of heart, saying her new partner had caused her to “rethink the whole being single thing”.
She explained via her blog: “There’s no easy way to tell you this so I’m just going to say it and then elaborate: I’ve met someone…
“Yep, you’ve read that right, I’ve met someone. The someone is a man and the someone has not only given me my sex drive back but he’s made me rethink the whole being single thing.
“I wasn’t planning on meeting anyone, you know me; I just enjoy life, I work hard and I do nice things in my spare time. (sic)”

Rupert Grint struggles to remember life before Harry Potter

OHMYGOSSIP — Rupert Grint “struggles” to remember what his life was like before ‘Harry Potter’.
The 30-year-old actor says playing Ron Weasley in the money-spinning ‘Harry Potter’ franchise from 2001 to 2011 and dealing with immense fame has led him to “lose himself”.
Rupert told the Radio Times: “I struggle to remember life before it.
“I think I lost myself a bit along the way.
“With the fame, you’re almost being the character even when you’re not in character.
“From the moment I got the part, my life completely changed.
“It was a weird time and it has taken me a long while to process. Just being invisible can still be difficult. Sometimes you just want to go to B&Q.”
The flame-haired star – who was catapulted into the limelight along with Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) when the first movie, ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’, was released – recalled when they were chased by children through a market in Tokyo.
He said: “It was terrifying, absolutely mad. I’d never seen anything like it.
“We were at a market, and we timed it very badly, school had just finished and there was literally a stampede toward us. It was the first time I’ve ever run away.”
Meanwhile, Rupert previously confessed he doesn’t actually know how much money he has and “couldn’t even really guess” because he’s happy to just lead a “comfortable” life.
He shared: “It doesn’t really motivate me too much.
“It makes you comfortable, that’s the good thing about it, I think.
“I’m glad it’s there but I’m not really that focused on it.”

Victoria Monet says Thank U, Next is ‘so Ariana’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande’s ‘Thank U, Next’ is “so her”, according to songwriter Victoria Monet.
The 25-year-old hitmaker has revealed that the chart-topping single ‘Thank U, Next’ – which she co-wrote with the pop singer and Tayla Parx – is based on Ariana’s own lingo.
Victoria told Highsnobiety: “I feel like the song wouldn’t have happened if we weren’t friends.
“Tayla [Parx] and I were singing like melodies. Since I’m her friend I know that she always says, Thank you, next.’ She says ‘thank you, next’ all the time. I started singing, ‘Thank you, next.’
“We were trying to make harmonies to the next part and she’s like, ‘B***h, are you saying thank u, next?’
“So we started writing the concept based on that title. It’s so her. I wouldn’t have come up with that if I were in the room with someone else.”
‘Thank U, Next’ is the lead single from Ariana Grande’s newly released fifth studio album of the same name.
The track broke a string of records, including the record for the most plays in a single day by a female artist on Spotify.
‘Thank U, Next’ has, in fact, reached number one in a host of countries around the world, including the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore and South Korea.
Victoria conceded that the huge success of ‘Thank U, Next’ hasn’t yet sunk in because to her, Ariana is simply her friend who she chills out with.
She said: “I’m not sure that I’m comprehending it quite yet.
“Honestly sometimes I forget because Ariana is my friend until she goes out in the world and starts releasing the music that we’ve done.
“We’re chilling at the house, in oneseises, watching silly movies, being regular people.”

Sylvester Stallone wrote Rocky in a ‘fury’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sylvester Stallone wrote the first ‘Rocky’ movie in a three-day “fury”.
The 72-year-old actor penned the 1976 hit boxing movie in the space of a few days, and Stallone – who collaborated with producers Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff – admits to being in an inspired state of mind at the time.
He recalled: “I had this opportunity with Chartoff and Winkler, and I wasn’t going to let it slip by.
“I was young, and I had an incredible amount of energy, and I wrote it in a fury. I was very excited about the whole thing. I had a feel for the streets, and I loved films like ‘Mean Streets’, and ‘Marty’, and ‘On The Waterfront’, and I felt inspired.”
Stallone also revealed his unlikely boxing hero was inspired by the heavyweight fight between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner, the so-called Bayonne Bleeder.
Speaking to GQ magazine, Stallone explained: “No one considered whether he could win the fight, that was out of the question, but everyone was wondering just how much of a beating he’d take – and how long it would last – and how much pain he’d absorb before he crashed to the canvas.
“The odds on Wepner were basically a zillion to one, and they couldn’t even take bets on the fight. So I’m sitting there watching the fight, with an especially bloodthirsty crowd, and it was terrible. The guy didn’t even look like a fighter. He was terribly awkward and unskilled, and he looked like a heavy bag with eyeballs. It was really sad.
“Then, all of a sudden, something incredible happened. From nowhere, Wepner knocked down the immortal Ali.
“It was like a bolt of lightning from some Greek god in the sky, and, almost instantly, Wepner became the crowd favourite – in a matter of seconds.”

Ciara is still living her ‘dream’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ciara feels as though she’s living her “dream”.
The 33-year-old singer – who has kids Future, four, and 20-month-old Sienna – has recently returned to the music scene with her new single ‘Level Up’ and despite the pressures of motherhood, Ciara is still enjoying her career as much as she ever has.
She shared: “In the past two or three years, a lot of things happened in my life, and I have to say, it’s a blessing to wake up every day knowing I’m living my dream.
“Music is a great part of who I am. So to be able to keep living my dream, and for my fans to continuously support and love what I’m doing, it’s very rewarding, and it’s honestly very inspiring for me as well.
“To feel all the love that my fans have given me this year has been incredible.”
Ciara performed at the American Music Awards earlier this year, and she’s admitted to relishing the experience.
She told Billboard: “That was very special, because it had been a long time since I had performed on that stage. I had so many emotions that night.
“As soon as they said my name and Missy [Elliott’s] name and the stage screen in front of us went up and I saw everyone get on their feet, I was just taken aback. I felt really proud, and it was definitely a celebratory moment for me that evening, just because it had been so long. And to feel that love – I was ready to get on stage again [after], you know?”

Ciara: Music can cure what medicine can’t

OHMYGOSSIP — Ciara thinks music is able to “cure what medicine can’t”.
The 33-year-old singer has revealed she considers music to be one of the most powerful forces on Earth, saying it can serve as a form of “support and for healing”.
She shared: “I always say there are three Ms that are the most powerful forces on earth: music, money and medicine.
“Music is the most powerful of those three. Music can cure what medicine can’t. People that may be suffering from illnesses or having a battle in their lives go to music for support and for healing.
“Money can come and go, but music is everlasting.
“It’s just one of the most powerful forces, and it’s beautiful to use it to have an impact on people’s lives. That’s what it’s really about for me.”
As a result, Ciara has made a conscious effort to make her new music as inspiring as possible.
The ‘Level Up’ hitmaker told Billboard: “I’ll be honest, I feel more passionate now about making sure there’s always some of that in my music.
“I would say, ‘Why am I chosen, out of all of these billions of girls in the world, to do this?’ And I feel like that’s for a reason.
“So when I have a chance to share my life story or things that inspire me, I’m always going to do that. I hope I can inspire people to level up and be their best selves and do that by taking them on a journey with me.”

James Blunt to star alongside Stephen Fry in first film role

OHMYGOSSIP — James Blunt is set to star in his first ever movie role.
The 44-year-old singer has bagged his first film role, alongside comedians David Mitchell, Steve Coogan and Stephen Fry, in ‘Greed’, which is an upcoming satire about the super-rich from director Michael Winterbottom.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “James has released five albums now, so he has been more than happy to take on a new challenge.
“He is known for his self-deprecating sense of humour, especially with his witty remarks on Twitter, so he jumped at the chance to star in a comedy.”
Last month, the ‘You’re Beautiful’ hitmaker shot scenes at London’s Chiltern Firehouse restaurant for the project, which also stars Isla Fisher and features a cameo role from ‘Made In Chelsea’s Ollie Locke.
The upcoming movie – which is written by Sean Gray – was originally set to have Sacha Baron Cohen paying the main character but the ‘Borat’ actor has since dropped out.
Meanwhile, James previously revealed he prefers to focus on his fans rather than Twitter trolls insulting him from behind a keyboard.
He said: “I am surprised by the reactions, both positive and negative.
“I get up to 10,000 people night after night watching me, but you might find four negative tweets online and they might affect me more, but I shouldn’t forget that thousands of people have spent money to go to one of my concerts.”

Man accused of killing Sarah Hyland’s cousin charged with manslaughter

OHMYGOSSIP — The man accused of killing Sarah Hyland’s cousin in a car crash has been charged with manslaughter.
Jeffrey Eggeling had originally been charged with three felonies – motor vehicle homicide with a DUI prior conviction, DUI causing serious bodily injury, and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident resulting in death – after he crashed into another car containing the ‘Modern Family’ actress’ uncle and 14-year-old cousin Trevor Canaday, who was ejected from the vehicle and later died from his injuries.
But now, according to the Omaha World-Herald, it has been revealed the 36-year-old man has had extra charges brought against him, including manslaughter and assault.
The charges were added during a preliminary court hearing on Friday (28.12.18), and Eggeling – who was allegedly travelling at 20 miles over the speed limit while his blood-alcohol level tested at .103 – remains in jail on a $750,000 bond as he awaits his trial.
Trevor’s family set up a GoFundMe page following his passing which aims to fund his funeral and his father’s ongoing medical expenses, and Sarah – who donated $1,000 to the page – recently said she’s taking a break from social media “for a while” after critics slammed her for asking fans to donate to the cause.
She tweeted: “I’d like to ask those who have negative thoughts or opinions about the tragedy that happened to my family, to keep them to themselves. You don’t know all the details. And how dare you attack when a beautiful life has been lost.
“You guys finally did it. Your horrible negative ignorant words have broken me. Happy? Staying offline for a while. I have a special announcement and video releasing on Wednesday I believe. So. There’s that. (sic)”
Sarah had taken to her Instagram Stories to encourage her six million followers to donate to Trevor’s GoFundMe page.
She wrote: “This is my 14 year old cousin Trevor. Yesterday, he was killed by a drunk driver. My uncle is still in the hospital in need of more surgeries. (sic)”

Lucy Hale wants to do musical theatre

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Hale would “love” to take part in a musical production.
The former ‘Pretty Little Liars’ actress is looking to branch out into musical theatre after wrapping the final season of the hit ABC drama last year, as she says she’s already been to several auditions, although she’s yet to secure a role.
When asked if she’d be interested in musical theatre, she said: “I actually auditioned for the ‘Rent’ that they’re doing right now. I’ve auditioned for a couple of them, and I’ve gotten close, and then things just didn’t work out. So, yes, I would definitely love to do that.”
Lucy, 29, already has plenty of singing experience, as prior to landing her role as Aria in ‘Pretty Little Liars’, she was crowned as one of the winners of ‘American Juniors’ – the ‘American Idol’ spin-off show that lasted just one season back in 2003.
On top of her talent show victory, she also dropped a country album in 2014, and the star hopes to be able to bring her two talents together on stage.
Speaking to Parade magazine, she said: “I think at some point, it’ll work out in some way, shape, or form, but I love music, and I think that if I can find a way to utilise it through acting, I think that that more works for where I’m at in life right now. So yeah, we’ll see, but I am excited to see ‘Rent’. I think that they found a really good cast, and I’m excited to see what they do with it.”
