Kelly Clarkson promises weight loss

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Clarkson has vowed to shed her holiday weight gain as soon as 2019 starts.
The 36-year-old singer treated herself over Christmas as she says she’s put on some weight this festive season, but has made it her mission to lose the extra pounds “starting January 1”.
On Twitter, the ‘Because of You’ hitmaker joked: “To the person that lost weight over the holidays…. Don’t worry, I found it and I will get it back to you starting January 1st #TightPants #ButSoWorthIt (sic)”
But hitting the gym will likely be a chore for the ‘Piece By Piece’ singer though, as she admitted in November that she “hates working out”.
She said on social media at the time: “This just in… I still hate working out. I’m sweaty, red, and not any thinner. People say it’s good for your heart… but people also say red wine is good for your heart. I mean, I’m just stating facts here people. Who am I to ignore science?! #cardioversuswine. (sic)”
Kelly – who has River, four, and Remy, two, with her husband Brandon Blackstock – has often faced criticism for her weight, but she previously claimed she didn’t feel pressurised to drop any pounds, because her curves help define how “happy” she is in her life.
Speaking in 2017, she said: “It’s when I’m fat that I’m happy. People think, ‘Oh, there’s something wrong with her. She’s putting on weight.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, no! I’m sorry, but that represents happiness in my emotional world.’ For me, when I’m skinny is usually when I’m not doing well.
“If you gauge your life on what other people think, you’re going to be in a constant state of panic trying to please everyone. People should just concentrate on their own lives and their own health and their own happiness, and whatever that looks like for you, be happy with it.”

Kevin Hart gifts muscle cars to his team

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Hart gifted his whole team a range of classic muscle cars to mark the end of his tour.
The 39-year-old comedian concluded his ‘Irresponsible Tour’ last week, and took to Instagram on Saturday (29.12.18) to reveal he has sent his thanks to the eight members of his backstage crew by buying them each an “old school” vehicle.
In a video, he said: “So the tour is over, and I told my guys I was going to do something special for them. They had no idea what it was. I just surprised my whole team with old schools.
“I mean it when I say I love my team, I would not be where I am or who I am today if it wasn’t for my team. We’re celebrating, and I love the fact that they’re gone. They’re blown away, and for me, that’s all I needed, nothing else.”
The ‘Night School’ star continued the fun to Sunday (30.12.18), when he took to Instagram again to reveal he and his friends had started a car club with the new rides he’d gifted them.
He wrote: “Yup…We are officially getting a old…Me & my guys started a car club. We are the “Plastic Cup Boyz Car Club”….we are getting jackets and hats and gloves with no finger tips….Old man fun. We drink coffee and talk cars on sundays #PlasticCupBoyCarClub #SundayFunday (sic)”
Kevin’s kind deed comes after he recently stepped down as host of the 2019 Oscars, when Twitter users resurfaced old tweets in which he made homophobic comments.
He said at the time: “I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscars. This is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologise to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past.
“I’m sorry that I hurt people. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.”

Gavin Rossdale is single again

OHMYGOSSIP — Gavin Rossdale has split from Sophia Thomalla.
The Bush frontman has reportedly ended things with the model and she was spotted kissing German soccer player Loris Karius in Miami, Florida over the festive period, pictures obtained by TMZ reveals.
It is not known when Gavin and Sophia – who were first romantically linked in early 2017 – split up but they were last seen together in November on the red carpet.
Meanwhile, Gavin previously admitted he “would love” to marry again despite splitting from Gwen Stefani, who he was wed to for 14 years until 2016.
He said: “Would I get married again? It is one of those beautiful things to fall in love. It’s a force to be reckoned with. I would love that dilemma, but right now it is my kids and my work. That’s plenty.”
However, Gavin “never” thought he would split from the blonde beauty, which has caused him “a lot of pain and sadness”.
He said: “We’re all products of nuclear families. My parents have been married three times each. I’m just a junior. I never thought I would get divorced. But it just happens. All these life things. Who knew that was possible? There’s been a lot of pain and sadness. It really teaches you perspective on life. It’s really health, happiness and safety. After that, I don’t know what there is other than that.”

Kurt Russell wants people to ‘experience’ his films

OHMYGOSSIP — Kurt Russell doesn’t like explaining his movies.
The ‘Christmas Chronicles’ actor would rather people “experience” his work and then tell him about it, rather than him tease what’s in store in the films.
He said: “There’s a fine line between saying too much and not enough, and I don’t think I’m very good at it.
“I also make wine I don’t like to tell people what they’re drinking.
“I want them to experience it and tell me what they’re experiencing and that’s what you do when you make a movie.
“I love going to the movies and knowing nothing.”
The 67-year-old actor believes the key to doing a good job on his movies is to make his characters seem “credible”.
He said: “My take on acting in motion pictures has always been to try to make the character 100 per cent credible. That’s it.
“You have to make it 100 per cent credible. And then after that, you do what you can as an actor to make it entertaining as well.”
The ‘Hateful Eight’ actor still loves acting and always takes it “seriously”, but if he’s not working, he finds it easy to switch off from the business.
He told Total Film magazine: “When I don’t work, I’m out. I’m done. But when I do work, I’m 24/7.
“There’s nothing else I’d rather do. I take it seriously in the respect that I want it to be as good as possible.
“I never didn’t take it seriously. As a matter of fact, one of the first things my father said to me when I went to work as a 10 year old was, ‘You’re getting paid a man’s salary, so do a man’s job.’
“That meant, to me, showing up on time, knowing your lines, being prepared to offer what you can.”

Zoe Kravitz not restricted by race

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Kravitz looks for roles written for women of a different race.
The ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ actress is proud of her multicultural heritage and wants to “challenge” stereotypes based on ethnicity within her career.
She said: “I identify with both my black and white roots. My parents are a mix of Jewish and African American.
“Obviously, both of these groups have had large struggles in the past, so I feel proud to connect to their cultures.
“I think the only way to deal with racial identity is to remember that no one else can tell you who you are based on the colour of your skin, especially in an industry where someone can say, ‘Oh no, you can’t play this kind of role because of the colour of your skin.’
“I continue to challenge that, and look for parts that were maybe written for someone of a different race.
“If I identify with the story, I can identify with the character and hopefully people will open their minds about how they see a doctor or a lawyer. There’s no rule that says a lawyer can’t be a black woman with tattoos.”
The 30-year-old actress used to find it “exciting” when she was recognised and fans wanted to take photos, but now she’s realised it’s important to be able to have her own private time away from work.
She told Britain’s Marie Claire magazine: “My biggest boundary issue is being recognised and people constantly wanting to take pictures. At first it’s exciting and a huge compliment, and you just want to know everyone.
“But I also have to remember that when I’m not working, I’m not working.
“Although it’s hard to say no, sometimes you feel vulnerable and don’t want your photo taken.
“Also, the time that I have with my friends and family is now so valuable and necessary for my mental health that I want to focus that energy on them.
“I’m trying to find the right balance, but doing normal stuff like going to the grocery store is so important. Just making sure I take the time to be a human being, really.”

John Krasinski was ‘mind-tricked’ to write A Quiet Place sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — John Krasinski was “mind-tricked” into writing a sequel to ‘A Quiet Place’.
The 39-year-old actor directed and starred in the thriller flick, which also co-stars his wife Emily Blunt and sees the pair with their two children, Marcus (Noah) and Regan (Millicent) in a post-apocalyptic world that has been taken over by blind monsters with an acute sense of hearing.
However Krasinksi has revealed he never intended on doing a sequel and was duped into writing his idea for the next movie.
Speaking to Deadline, he said: “I’ll be honest with you: I really didn’t want to do the sequel. It was never built to launch sequels, which we all knew, and the studio knew too. But also, I’m a realist.
“I know that when you have a success like this, everyone wants to make another one. I told them to go find another filmmaker and writer, and they said, ‘But don’t you have an idea?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I have a tiny idea,’ so they said, ‘OK, while we’re talking to other people, keep thinking about it’. They basically mind-tricked me into wanting to write it.
“But the idea for it is pretty simple. I’m writing now–I don’t have it fleshed out–but the thought that occurred to me, that really excited me about it, was that most sequels are about the return of a hero or a villain. You take this character that people loved once and you bring them back, and you have to create a new world around them.
“We have the exact opposite setup. We have the world, and you can drop whoever you want into that world and everyone feels connected to it. The reason I decided to go back, in the end, was this world is so rich, and it’s so much fun to explore.”
John – who shares Hazel, four and Violet, two, with Blunt – also confessed that the film was a “perfect metaphor for parenthood” and was like writing a “love letter” for his kids.
Opening up about how being a father-of-two linked with his performance, John added: “I mean, I think it’s the reason why I did the movie. I’ve talked about it before, but I couldn’t watch a horror movie, let alone make one. The thing with this was the truly overwhelming sense of clarity that hit me, that the movie would be the perfect metaphor for parenthood.
“Yes, it would be scary. Yes, it would have tension and all those things. But it would also be like writing a love letter for my kids. In every word I wrote, or every shot I directed, and all through the performance.”

Paul Weller doesn’t want to alienate fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Weller doesn’t want to “alienate” his fans.
The former Jam frontman is keen to “challenge” his audiences so stays away from crowd-pleasing greatest hits sets in his live shows, but hopes they appreciate that and enjoy his “journey”.
Asked if he worries his fans won’t move on with him, he said: “Of course. I wouldn’t do it to try and alienate people. I would hope that people would come along with me on the journey.
“Not everyone does and that’s fair enough, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but if I was a fan I’d take it as a compliment that the artist in question was trying to challenge me.”
However, he admitted when he first left the Jam, his decision to ignore his time with the band and not perform their songs was done to be “confrontational”.
He told Q magazine: “I was doing it from a confrontational point of view back then, which is absurd really.
“Instead of trying to involve people and be nice about it, I was trying to set up a wall. ‘What do you mean you don’t f***ing like it?’ This is great, this i where we’re going.
“Now if I do something different, I genuinely want people to come with me.”
The 60-year-old musician enjoyed a career resurgence with the release of his 2008 record ’22 Dreams’ and he admitted he’s embraced the “creative freedom” he’s had over the last decade.
He said: “I loved my 50s. I’ve got a creative freedom in the last few years where I’m not afraid to try whatever. I feel like the sky’s the limit.
“Time’s the biggest thing for me, my clock is ticking over, my meter is on the go.”

Taylor Swift’s favourite tour moment

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift had a moment when the crowd sang ‘All Too Well’ back to her on tour.
The ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ hitmaker admits it was amazing hearing her fans “consistently” singing the ballad back to her as it was never made into a single.
Sharing a clip from her Reputation concert film, which was recorded at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, she said: “‘All Too Well’ was never a single and it always blows my mind that it is consistently one of the loudest songs the crowd sings when I play it. Moments like this defined the Reputation Stadium Tour for me, and I can’t wait for you to see it in full.”
Meanwhile, Taylor previously admitted she feels “so lucky” to have fans that “care” about her.
She said: “[I wanted to do a show] that would make you feel like you were escaping and going into a different world. I’m so happy that that’s the kind of show that you’ve wanted to see, because it makes it so much fun to create a world for you. I’m so lucky to get to do that. I’m so lucky you care about anything I create, whether it be music or a stage show. Thank you for coming tonight, and thank you for coming to be a part of my life. I love you.
“Every single performer that you see on this stage, whether it be a dancer, or a background singer, or a member of the band, when I say that these are crowds we never even thought we would get to be in front of, even in our wildest dreams.”

Ronnie Wood won’t allow hair to go grey

OHMYGOSSIP — Ronnie Wood orders his hair not to go grey.
The Rolling Stones rocker’s wife Sally admitted many people assume the 71-year-old guitarist dyes his hair black to hide the passing of time, but she insisted that isn’t the case and his positive attitude has helped it stay dark.
Sally – who has twins Alice and Gracie, two, with her spouse – said: “I have a positive outlook and so does Ronnie.
“Many people assume that he dyes his hair black but it’s his natural colour. ‘I just tell my hair not to be grey’, he says. That is generally his attitude in life.
“He reads meditation books and leaves affirmations everywhere.”
The former Faces musician is still very “sprightly”, and though he credits that to practising tai chi, his 40-year-old spouse isn’t so convinced.
She said: “Ronnie has often been asked, Do you want to do more concerts?’ and his reply is, ‘Yes, I want to do a hundred more – let’s go.’
“He’s very sprightly and has the energy of a child.”
On his daily tai chi sessions, she added in an interview with Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “Well, he swings his arms around for about 10 minutes in the morning and that’s it.
“His strength and stamina must be in the genes.”
Ronnie – who also has four adult children from past relationships – even embraces sleepless nights with his twins.
Sally said: “Our twins keep him on his toes. He’s a bit of a soft touch with the girls. They’ll wake him up in the middle of the night and say, ‘Daddy, we want to draw.’
“So he’ll get them out of their cots and then they start running all over the place. I’m sure it’s a trick.”

Emily Blunt wore waistcoats in ‘lurid colours’ before fame

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Blunt used to “really enjoy wearing men’s waistcoats”.
The 35-years actress – who recently starred in ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ – has revealed that she had no sense of style before entering the film industry and would often step out in “lurid colours” and “white mum jeans” before they “were cool”.
Speaking to Harpers Bazaar UK, Emily said: “What have I learned about style? I’ve learned that I had none before I embarked into this industry, I used to really enjoy wearing men’s waistcoats, quite lurid colours, with white jeans, but like mum jeans, before they were cool. I wonder if I wore that now if I’d be a trail blazer? So I’ve learned that … I think style is an extension of who you are.”
Emily – who is married to fellow Hollywood star John Krasinski – also admitted that the “choices” she makes in her career are very important to her and the way she wants to be perceived as an actress.
She explained: “What I’ve learned about my career specifically is that, I think I realised quite early on is that all you have in many ways are the choices that you make and you have no control over what happens after you’ve made the choices and it should be completely personal to you.”
Emily also revealed some of her beauty tips, saying she is learning to “embrace the pale” as she’s realised over the years that her one go-to product is “sunscreen”.
She said: “I’ve learnt that confidence is actually very quiet and it’s not in your face and it’s not chest beating. It’s very still and very quiet.
“I’ve learnt about beauty that I personally, should not lie in the sun – I am naturally very pale and I should just embrace it. So I’ve learnt to wear sunscreen and embrace the pale.”

Scarlett Moffatt thankful for her ex

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt is “so thankful” for her ex.
The 28-year-old television personality has borrowed the words of singer Ariana Grande to insist she is so grateful she split from her ex-partner Lee Wilkinson and is looking forward to giving “herself much love and attention” in 2019.
She wrote on Instagram: “Ladies if you do one thing in 2019 be kind & forgiving to yourself. Give yourself as much love & attention as you give other people. I’ve learnt so much in 2018 … 1. That I don’t have time to hate people who hate me, because I’m too busy loving those who love me. 2. That trolls opinions are genuinely irrelevant to my life … 3. I’ve learnt to be as kind to myself as I am to other people … 4. And that sometimes by removing people from your life you actually gain so much self worth.
I’ve never felt as happy & confident in my life as I have the last 4 month & I’m gonna continue that in 2019. Starting the new year off in Hong Kong with my besties I feel on top of the world (oh and in the words of Ariana Grande “I’m so **in thankful for my ex, thank you next) #newyear #love #friends #family #hongkong #2019 (sic)”
Scarlett has had a tough time in love as of late and previously revealed how her long-term boyfriend Luke Crodden dumped her on her birthday in 2017.
She shared at the time: “I’m gonna have to write it because I feel a bit awkward as I’ve done some interviews about him being in my book that aren’t out for a while due to timings of the magazines … but me and Luke have finished due to a number of different things. It was Luke’s choice in the end but it’s because we both just see each other in more of a friendly way than a romantic way. We both respect and love each other enough to know we need to call it a day and not be one of those couples that’s off and on. So it’s not that I’m being a crap girlfriend and not mentioning him it’s just we are no longer together. I wish him all the luck and happiness in the world, just sometimes these things happen (happy birthday Scarlett by the way ha).”

James Gardiner reveals Dancing On Ice curse

OHMYGOSSIP — James Gardiner has claimed ‘Dancing On Ice’ has more of a ‘curse’ than ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The TV skating show judge has hinted at some racy action behind the scenes, and insisted the show is worse than its competitor when it comes to flings between the celebrities and their pro partners.
Asked about a ‘curse’, he told the Daily Star newspaper: “We’ve hadloads of those. We just don’t make a song and dance about it.”
While ‘Strictly’ doesn’t hide away from its scandals, James suggested that ‘Dancing On Ice’ chooses to keep its own controversies quiet rather than looking for a ratings boost.
He added: “We don’t have to!”
Meanwhile, ‘Strictly’ judge Bruno Tonioli previously revealed he thinks the show’s so-called curse can be “wonderful”.
Asked if he believes in the sensation, he said: “I think it’s been created: sometimes it could be a blessing? I mean, people together and passion is a wonderful, wonderful thing!”
And Bruno thinks it’s common for relationships to form in the workplace so there is nothing different about it happening on the show.
He added: “I love it that people are so involved, but it could happen in any situation where people work close together. It could happen in a factory, it could happen in an office.
“Chemistry is a huge part of how you’re going to perform. It doesn’t have to be for real: Fred and Ginger hated each other, but the chemistry was off the charts.”
However, the Italian star claimed he and his fellow ‘Strictly’ judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Shirley Ballas – don’t talk about the contestants’ personal lives, such as when Seann Walsh was pictured kissing his married dance partner Katya Jones, because they are too busy.
He said: “We haven’t time to gossip. We turn up and it’s such an intense day when we get there. If the foundations are strong, usually houses stand still. Relationships are the same.”

Emilia Fox credits ‘good writing’ for Silent Witness success

OHMYGOSSIP — Emilia Fox thinks “good writing” help ‘Silent Witness’ stay fresh.
The 44-year-old actress has starred as Dr. Nikki Alexander on the detective drama for 14 years now, and with the show set to return next month for its 22nd season she has opened up on its longevity.
Appearing on ‘Sunday Brunch’, she said: “Good writing, that’s what it’s about.
“And picking subjects which are current and keeping it mixed up with having a thriller, or having an action one, or having one which is very, very medically led.”
Meanwhile, Emilia – who joined the show in 2004 following the departure of Amanda Burton – also pointed to the the uniqueness of the programme which sets it apart from others in the genre.
She added: “I think that the interest is finding the clues through the bodies, so it makes it a bit different to the normal detective drama.
“So you’re really having a behind-the-scenes look at how to solve crime and they try and keep that as true to life as possible.”
Her comments come after the star admitted she has struggled with body confidence throughout her life, but that chopping up dead corpses on the long-running drama has made her value having a “healthy” anatomy – something which she didn’t appreciate in her twenties.
She said: “I’ve never been in love with my body and I don’t think I ever will be in love in my body.
“Maybe it’s because I’ve worked on ‘Silent Witness’ for so long, but I do appreciate that I have a body and that it, touch wood, is healthy.
“I was thinking about this as I dissected some organs on ‘Silent Witness’ the other day. I just felt lucky that I’ve got a healthy body.
“I didn’t appreciate that in my twenties, but I do now. So when I feel best about my body is when I’m looking after it.”

Chris Chibnall says Doctor Who is ‘response to the world we live in’

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Chibnall says ‘Doctor Who’ is a “response to the world we live in”.
The 48-year-old showrunner has explained that the long-running series strives to tackle issues that “affect people’s lives” and includes several storylines that are responsive to the times we live in.
At a screening of the New Year’s Day special ‘Resolution’, Chris said: “I think you want to be writing about the world that we live in – the show is not a standalone thing, it’s a response to the times that we’re living in, the world that we’re in, and things that affect people’s lives, particularly things that children and young adults are going through.”
Jodie Whittaker stepped into the iconic lead role in ‘Doctor Who’ for her first series in the TARDIS this year – following on from Peter Capaldi’s incarnation of the Time Lord, and the latest series has explored various social issues, including the origins of the Civil Rights movement in the episode ‘Rosa’.
While fans are facing a long wait for Jodie’s second season, the BBC’s Director General added at the event that series 12 will hit the small screen “very early in 2020”.
And it could give fans more of an insight into the character of Yaz – played by Mandip Gill – after a fan asked whether viewers would see more of her as a police officer.
The BBC previously announced that Jodie is set to be joined once again by Mandip, Bradley Walsh (Graham) and Tosin Cole (Ryan).
And the broadcaster heaped praise on the most recent series, which “averaged a four-screen consolidated audience of 8.4 million”.
Charlotte Moore, director of content, added: “We’re delighted that the Doctor and her friends will be returning to thrill audiences in 2020.
“I know Chris and the whole team are already working on a whole new set of exciting adventures. In the meantime we’ve got a very special episode on New Year’s Day for everyone to enjoy.”
Doctor Who’s New Year’s Day special airs on Tuesday 1st January at 7.00pm on BBC1.

Mel B wants to prove herself

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel B is ready to “prove” herself again.
The Spice Girls singer – who has children Phoenix, 19, Angel, 11, and seven-year-old Madison from previous relationships – has downsized her home after paying millions in court costs during her bitter divorce from Stephen Belafonte, who she has to pay £35,000 a month in spousal support, and though she’s lost almost all her fortune, she’s not “frightened” or “bitter” about her current situation.
She said: “The reality of my life now is that I live in a rented apartment with my girls.
“Most of my money I earned over the past decade has gone.
“But I’ve always been the breadwinner and I will continue to be the breadwinner and having to start over financially doesn’t frighten me.
“If anything, it makes me want to prove myself over again.
“I’m not bitter, I don’t look back, I just look forward.
“I have a beautiful apartment, my girls play the piano, Phoenix has a smaller apartment down the hall and I feel very blessed to be here.”
And the 43-year-old star feels “lucky” to love her work and is more than happy to keep pushing herself.
She added to Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “I’ve always worked hard and I’ll continue to work hard because I love what I do. And if the price of freedom is to downsize to a smaller place, then it is absolutely worth it.
“I’m a working class girl from Leeds. My dad worked as a welder and never missed a shift in his life.
“My mum worked lots of different jobs, including as a sales assistant in C&A and as a helper in an old people’s home so that me and my sister could have dance lessons.
“I’m lucky that I have a job that I love and I’m lucky that I’m still working. I never forget that.”

Rebel Wilson got lost on a mountain

OHMYGOSSIP — Rebel Wilson had to be rescued after she got “lost” on a mountain in Aspen.
The ‘Pitch Perfect’ star was on a trip to the popular winter destination in Colorado when she found herself lost on a mountain and had to call for help to get back to her hotel.
Updating her fans on her Instagram story, she said: “Alright, guys. I’m lost on the mountain, but I’m going to make it … This is a bit too experienced for me, so I’m just gonna slide down (sic)”
In a second video, she introduced her fans to a man called Scott who was going to help her make it down the slippy slope.
Later, Rebel took to social media to insist she was doing alright and thanked the “kind strangers” who helped her down off the mountain.
She said: “Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know I did get back to the hotel safely. I want to thank everybody in Aspen for all of their help on the slopes because you guys are amazing, you do this all day every day whereas for me, it was only like my second day of skiing. I lost feeling in my left foot, I think it was the ski boot, I think it was too tight, I think maybe I need to buy professional ski boots or something … I just wanted to say thank you to all those very kind strangers who helped today. I’m resting up now cause it’s New Year’s Eve tomorrow.”
