OHMYGOSSIP — Casey Batchelor has unveiled her incredible four stone weight loss.
The 34-year-old television personality – who gave birth to her first child Florence with Dane Goodson earlier this year – has been sharing untouched photos of her body after childbirth and documenting her attempts to regain her hour glass figure on Instagram thanks to “yoga and healthy eating”.
Posting on Instagram, Casey said: “Some people have said they don’t believe I’ve lost 4 stone so thought I’d share this. Neither of these pictures are very flattering tbh – but they are the truth. I’ve had people attacking me when I was big, saying I looked like a whale and now I’ve lost weight there’s people saying I’m too thin.
“Us girls can’t win!! I know I’m much healthier now than I was then and yes I know my bum’s disappeared but so has a load of fat I didn’t need. So I hope you’ll be kind when you see this and as ever I’m here to try and encourage you as well as myself to be as healthy and happy as we can be. The brunette beauty has unveiled the dramatic weight loss images to show her four stone lighter journey since having her daughter Florence, in May and to help promote her new app, Casey’s Yoga Blitz, which is available to purchase at noon on Wednesday (02.01.19).
Casey also shared a throwback picture of her figure in another underwear snap, she wrote: “I find these pictures really keep me motivated to stick to my exercise and diet because even though I’ve now lost 4 stone, it’s so easy just to slip back into old habits. I hope you find them motivating too if you’re trying to lose weight. Mac Miller Circles Fund raises $700K

OHMYGOSSIP — The Mac Miller Circles Fund has reportedly raised an impressive $700,000 since the late rapper’s death.
The 26-year-old singer was found dead in his San Fernando Valley home in September, following an accidental overdose, but his legacy has been carried on through the work of the foundation.
In October, the ‘A Celebration of Life’ benefit concert, which saw the likes of Donald Glover and Pharrell Williams pay tribute to the hip-hop star, was held, and it’s now reported to have made around $350,000.
MMCF was setup in memory of the ‘Come Back To Earth’ rapper to provide funding and resources to underprivileged youths desperate to explore the arts in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
TMZ.com also claims that on top of the thousands of dollars made at the benefit show, MMCF has received a similar amount in donations.
Speaking previously of the achievements of the organisation, Mac’s mother Karen Meyers said: “The support we’ve experienced is evident in this amazing lineup and is a testament to Malcolm’s incredible life.
“He was a caring, loving human with a smile that could light up the sky and a soul that was out to make the world a kinder place and the MMCF will continue to do just that.”
Stars from the music world came out to honour the late rapper by performing covers of his much-loved songs at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, on October 31, whilst sharing their memories of the ‘Dang’ hitmaker.
In a video message, Donald – who goes by the stage name Childish Gambino – said: “Thank you, Mac, for sharing your soul and your beauty with us, especially your love of music. Thank you for sharing that with us.
“You were a really necessary and intelligent light and I’m really glad we met, I’m glad you made music and to all the Mac fans out there, thank you for joining him and being part of his journey.”
Pharrell praised Mac for his “amazing” voice and said he will be sorely missed.
The ‘Happy’ hitmaker said in a clip: “Listening to all of your recent music, you really were using your voice.
“It’s amazing. The world misses you bro, rest easy. Definitely in peace.”
Other messages came from rappers Pusha T, Lil Wayne, A$AP Ferg and Tyler the Creator.
John Mayer took to the stage to perform his own interpretation of Mac’s song ‘Small Worlds’ from his last album released before his death, ‘Swimming’, and Chance the Rapper and Travis Scott also took to the stage.

OHMYGOSSIP — Shay Mitchell suffered a devastating miscarriage.
The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star opened up about losing
“the child of my hopes and dreams” in her recap of 2018 on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday (01.01.18), admitting the “support” of her fans has kept her going through her “darkest days”.
She wrote: “Lastly, although it was an amazing year, it didn’t come without some hardships (sic)”, before sharing a picture of her baby scan with the broken heart emoji next to it.
In a lengthy post, she continued: “We all have to deal with various struggles and challenges in life.
“And sometimes it’s easier to only showcase the good times on social media, which is what leads many people to criticize it for its lack of authenticity.
“The support and affection that so many of you show me lifts me up during even my darkest days, one of which happened last year after I miscarried and lost the child of my hopes and dreams. (sic)”
Shay also called on everyone to be more “compassionate and “emphatic” in 2019.
She continued: “In the spirit of the new year, I think that we need to remember that we are all on this journey together–in good times and in bad–and to remind ourselves that we seldom really know or understand the struggles and hardships that other people are going through.
“So, for 2019, let’s all try to be a little more compassionate, empathetic, patient and thoughtful with each other.
“This sounds like a great resolution to me. I hope that you agree. Happy New Year everyone! (sic)”
The 31-year-old Canadian star didn’t reveal the father’s identity.
The ‘Bliss’ author’ has most recently been romantically linked to TV star Matte Babel.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Supergirl’ star Amy Jackson is engaged to multi-millionaire George Panayiotou.
The British actress and the son of British tycoon Andreas Panayiotou – who have been dating since 2015 – announced their engagement in a sweet post on Instagram, whilst on a romantic getaway in the Southern Province in Zambia, Southern Africa.
Alongside a picture of the pair embracing with a stunning waterfall in the background and Amy’s impressive diamond ring on display, the actress – who previously dated soap star Ryan Thomas in 2014 – wrote: “1st January 2019 – The start of our new adventure in life I love you. Thankyou for making me the happiest girl in the world (sic)”
Before landing the role of Imra Ardeen in The CW superhero TV series, Amy made a name for herself in Indian films, with her first role in AL Vijay’s Tamil film ‘Madrasapattinam’ in 2010.
She continues to act in films in languages including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada.
Prior to launching her acting career, Amy was a model from the age of 16 and won Miss Teen World in 2009.
Amy hasn’t had it easy when it comes to her love life.
Her boxer ex-boyfriend Joe Selkirk pleaded guilty to assaulting her in 2013.
However, Amy previously admitted it hadn’t put her off relationships and only made her stronger.
She said: “It transformed me as a person. It made me not want to rely on anybody. It turned me into a strong and independent woman, who could take care of myself and my mother and people who relied on me. If love comes it’s nice but I want none of this crappy attachment. After experiences like that, I didn’t want it anymore.”
Asked her experiences have made her cautious, she replied: “I still believe in love. I can’t wait to fall in love some day. I like the feeling of being in love. I’m a hopeless romantic. But there comes a point where you realise what you deserve and what you want. Love isn’t always happy and lovely, it can be painful sometimes. It’s nice to be away from love for a while and focus on different emotions and what else one wants in life.”

Jada Pinkett Smith doesn’t celebrate wedding anniversary

OHMYGOSSIP — Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith don’t celebrate their wedding anniversary.
The ‘Girls Trip’ star and her 50-year-old actor husband got married on New Year’s Eve in 1997, but the couple don’t feel the need to mark the occasion, because their marriage isn’t “steeped in that day”.
During an episode of her Facebook Watch series ‘Red Table Talk’, the actress told her mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones and her 18-year-old daughter Willow: “It’s more of a life partnership, so it’s not steeped in that day. We don’t really celebrate that day, any more, in that sense, because the context of our union is totally different.”
The 47-year-old actress no longer worries if the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ star decides to go off on an “adventure” while she stays at home on December 31.
She said: “Usually, Will on New Year’s likes to be in an adventure in the world somewhere. There’s no telling where he’s gonna be. And I like to be inside, I don’t wanna be out in the world. He now has the freedom to go and have an awesome adventure of some kind.”
Previously on an episode of the series, Jada revealed she “cried the whole way down the aisle” because she didn’t want to marry Will.
The ‘Bad Moms’ star “never really agreed” with the idea of tying the knot so she was “so upset” at being put under pressure to wed Will, and to make matters worse she was undergoing a “horrible” pregnancy with the couple’s son Jaden, who is now 20, at the time.
She said: “I was under so much pressure being a young actress – being young, pregnant, I was just like, I didn’t know what to do. But I knew I never wanted to be married.
“My first trimester was horrible. And I was so upset that I had to have a wedding. I was so p***ed. I went crying down the freaking aisle, I cried the whole way down the aisle.
“I just never really agreed with the construct. I still don’t.
“Till death do us part is real for me, but all of the rules and all of the ideas. This title, ‘wife’, the accepted conventional definition of wife in the paradigm – I’m not that.”
However, Will had the opposite view to his wife about their wedding day, and couldn’t wait to get hitched.
He said: “There wasn’t a day in my life that I wanted anything other than being married and having a family.
“From literally five years old, I was picturing what my family would be.”
A few months prior to their big day, Jada knew she had fallen pregnant with Jaden, after predicting the outcome just “four seconds” after the couple had sex.
In the joint chat, Will added: “It was literally four seconds after we had sex and she was like, ‘Gasp.’ And I was like, ‘Babe, you OK?’
“And she was like, ‘I’m pregnant.’ And I was like, ‘Babe, I think scientifically you’re not pregnant.’ ”

EastEnders to get first gay bar

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘EastEnders’ looks set to get its first gay bar.
Kate Oates, senior executive producer of ‘EastEnders’, ‘Casualty’ and ‘Holby City’, has teased the BBC One soap’s fans they can expect to see more LGBTQ characters grace Walford with their presence in the coming year, and the characters will also have a “super cool precinct” to hang out in.
She said: “I’m really interested in bringing some more LGBTQ characters in. Maybe we’ll have a new precinct for them as well?
“We’re looking at opening a new gay bar on the Square. It will be a super cool precinct where gay and straight characters can all just hang out and loads of stories can cross. It will be something really exciting, really fun and visual.
“It should be something really exciting, really fun, really visual and feel really true to multi-cultural London.”
Kate teased one of the big storylines of 2019 will be a “long-running saga” involving the Mitchells, which will come off the back of Sharon Mitchell’s (Letitia Dean) affair with Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), which has been dubbed “Sheanu” by fans of the show.
She said: “We’ve got a really long-running saga with the Mitchell family. It all comes from the Sheanu story. But it’s really exciting, because everybody involved all have really strong agency in it.
“There’s lots of twists and turns.”
Things look set to come crashing down for patriarch and Walford hardman Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) but not before he gets close to his employee Keanu, without knowing about Sheanu.
Speaking in a Q&A video on EastEnders’ official Twitter account, Kate added: “What I like about it is Phil is going to find himself in a place where he’s kind of complacent about life.
“Things seem to be falling into place, he’s really close to Sharon, so he thinks, and he becomes increasingly close to Keanu.
“Keanu is a really good guy, he’s a hard worker, has a good moral compass. So Phil starts to become close to him.”
The soap recently confirmed a number of new additions – including Karen Taylor’s (Lorraine Stanley) daughter Chantelle – and the return of Danielle Harold as Lola Pearce, and Kate admitted there are “a couple more secret returnees” on the cards.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jacqueline Jossa has slammed a troll who called her a “frumpy dumpling”.
The 26-year-old actress has hit back at an internet user who snubbed a picture of her on Instagram which she captioned “chanelling J-Lo this year”, and which saw her posing in a pair of polka dot tights with a black bodysuit.
The user wrote: “Omg how photoshopped is that!! Pls looks nothing like her what so ever!! @danosborneofficial bet you wish she did look like this tho instead of a frumpy dumplin with slap head. (sic)”
The former ‘EastEnders’ star then took to her Instagram Stories to highlight the comment.
Circling the harsh words, Jacqueline replied: “Starting the new year off positively I see Jen. Ps I do look like this, even when I hoover the dog hairs off the floor and baby sick all over me… (sic)”
The actress – who played Lauren Branning on the BBC soap from 2010 to 2018 – has had a whirlwind year after temporarily splitting from her husband Dan Osbourne just 11 months after marrying and having their second child, Mia.
Jacqueline has admitted their break up “needed to happen” to help their relationship, but she is disappointed it was so public.
She told Fabulous magazine: “Breaking up 100 per cent needed to happen for us, I just wish it hadn’t been so public, and I’m sad that it happened the way it did.”
During the end of her pregnancy and brief split, Dan signed up to ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ where he was away for four weeks and in a house with Love Island’s Gabby Allen – whom he had been romantically linked to – although they both denied such allegations. And after Dan left ‘CBB’, he and Jacqueline reunited.

Liam Gallaghe thinks vocals suffer without booze or cigarettes

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher thinks cutting out booze and smoking makes him sound worse when he sings.
The ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ star revealed he is trying to behave by trying to regulate the two vices, but the former Oasis rocker insisted he doesn’t like the way it changes his recognisable gravelly vocals.
He told Sirius XM: “I know for a fact when I have not had cigarettes and not drank and have been behaving myself I sound a bit square.
“And I do not like that. I like to sound a bit rough and have a bit of character.”
However Liam, 46, explained he isn’t going straight edge, even if he’s calming down a little bit as time goes on.
He joked: “I do behave myself a little, but not too much. I don’t want to sound like Aled Jones or Michael Bublé.”
Meanwhile, the star – whose follow-up to chart topping solo debut album ‘As You Were’ will be released by September – was recently blasted by brother Noel, 51, when he claimed Liam’s calls for an Oasis comeback were “for his ego”.
He said: “Liam wants to do it for his ego – he never gave a shit about the fans… He wouldn’t have walked off stage 25 times in his career if he gave a s*** about the fans.”
Noel added that his sibling’s jibes towards his wife Sara MacDonald on Twitter – which have seen the ‘Songbird’ songwriter call his sister-in-law a “witch” – have ruined the chances of there ever being a reunion.
He insisted: “That thing about my kids and my wife. No way. If I had 50 quid (pounds) left in my pocket I’d rather go busking. No way, I can’t do it.”

Chance The Rapper saved man’s life

OHMYGOSSIP — Chance The Rapper saved a man’s life by pulling him from a burning car.
The 25-year-old hip hop star took to social media and opened up about his own heroics as he reflected on 2018 and his own most memorable moments from the past year.
He revealed: “Ay so I never told this to the world but my friends can merch. I saved a persons by myself on Easter Sunday this year omw to church.
“Basically I was driving to church dolo, about to go south on lakeshore [drive] and another car drives into the wall in front of me goin like 90 mph comin off the exit.
“I was the only person out there when it first happened and his car was on fire so I had to break his window take off his seatbelt let his seat back and pull a whole grown man out the car unconscious. (sic)”
Initially, Chance – whose real name is Chancelor Jonathan Bennett – admitted he wondered if he was getting pranked by reality show ‘Punk’d’ before quickly accepting it wasn’t a stunt.
He added: “I was only by myself at first, then two other men helped me pull folks out the front after I got the doors open. But def was getting that ‘am I getting punk’d’ at first. (sic)”
While the story never broke at the time, Chance has revealed all now – and took to Twitter to confirm that the man survived the crash.
He wrote: “A kid DM’d me saying it was his uncle and that he lived!! (sic)”

Shane Richie wears high heels on school run

OHMYGOSSIP — Shane Richie has been wearing high heels to do the school run to prepare for his ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’ role.
The ‘EastEnders’ actor will take on the part of dress hire shop owner Hugo Battersby, who transforms into drag queen Loco Chanel by night, in the West End musical, and he has been getting to grips with the towering shoes while he takes out the bins, and transports his kids to school.
Shane – who has daughters Romani-Skye, seven, and Lolita, 10, and son Mackenzie, 12, with his wife Christie Goddard, as well as elder children Shane Jr, 30, and Jake, 26, with ex Coleen Nolan – said: “The heels I’ve got for ‘Everyone’s Talking About Jamie’ are an absolute nightmare.
“I’ve been wearing them on the school run, the bins and everything.”
The 54-year-old actor – who plays Alfie Moon in the BBC One soap – has also been getting to grips with the character’s clothes, and hopes he can become the “most beautiful drag queen around”.
He is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: “I’m trying to get used to the clothes, too.
“I just want to be the most beautiful drag queen around.”
Shane recently admitted he was shocked to get a call from his agent telling him the show’s producer Nica Burns had offered him the part.
The actor explained: “He said, ‘You’ll think I’m drunk or on drugs.’ ”
The soap star asked wife Christie to dig out some of her old gowns so he can get into the part.
He told her: “I need you to start looking for old dresses for me. I’m looking to be the most gorgeous drag queen in the West End. I have got the legs for it.”
Shane made a surprise return to ‘EastEnders’ in late November, and played a huge part in the show’s Christmas episodes as his alter-ego Alfie was left for dead in the Slaters’ living room after being pushed down the stairs, only for him to sneak out of the house with his baby Cherry.

Betty Driver and her sister saw a UFO

OHMYGOSSIP — Betty Driver and her sister had a “frightening” close encounter with a UFO.
Freda Driver – the younger sister of the late ‘Coronation Street’ star, who died in 2011 aged 91 – has revealed the siblings spotted a strange “ball of light” while growing up in West Didsbury, Manchester, in March 1977, but decide to keep their sighting a secret.
Freda told UFO expert John Hanson about the odd encounter, saying: “I was sitting in the lounge at the house where we lived at the time, one stormy evening, and happened to glance through the window, when I saw this large circular yellow ‘ball of light’ hovering above some trees, apparently unaffected by the gale force wind blowing outside.
“I watched it, noting it had a slightly misty halo around it, and thought to myself it’s watching me as well!
“After about 15 minutes, I decided to summon up the courage and venture outside, asking my sister, Betty, to come with me.
“When we opened the door, accompanied by the three boxer dogs, the wind was so strong we had trouble standing.
“As soon as the dogs saw the UFO they ran back inside and hid under the table, at which stage we began to feel frightened and went back inside the house.
“After five mins or so, it shot up into the sky and disappeared, followed by the wind dropping dramatically.”
She went on to claim that they saw another unusual object close to their car while driving near Ellesmere Port in 1978.
According to John’s book ‘Haunted Skies: The Encyclopaedia of British UFOs’, Freda said: “I stopped the car to have a closer look at this object, and was surprised to see it had also stopped, motionless in the air, as if somehow watching us.
“It stayed with us for about 20 miles and was clearly seen by other motorists, some of whom stopped their cars.”
Betty appeared in more than 2,800 episodes of ‘Coronation Street’ as Betty Turpin.
The character was known for cooking up a storm in the Rovers Return kitchen and had a signature dish, Betty’s Hot Pot, a Lancashire stew baked in a heavy pot on a low heat.

John Krasinski thought it was ‘thrilling’ writing films with Matt Damon

OHMYGOSSIP — John Krasinski found it “thrilling” working with Matt Damon.
The 39-year-old actor and producer began collaborating with the 48-year-old star when they met through Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt, and just months after meeting they developed the Oscar winning screenplay ‘Manchester By The Sea’.
In an interview with The Playlist, he opened up about their working relationship and said: “The first two ideas and my first two scripts ever were ‘Manchester By The Sea’ which I came up together with Matt and the second idea became ‘Promised Land’.
“We gave ‘Manchester By The Sea’ to Kenneth Lonergan to develop and that, that all happened within just months of meeting each other, which was thrilling.”
The pair met when John’s wife Blunt starred alongside Damon in ‘The The Adjustment Bureau’ however the actor declared that despite never meeting the actor, he had suspicions they would become friends.
He explained: “It was simple; he did a movie with my wife. I had never met him, but I’m from Boston like him, and I think everybody in Boston somewhere has the ‘Good Will Hunting’ poster tattooed on their back, so I admired what he and Ben [Affleck] did with that story. It had such a major impact on me.
“To finally meet him was something that I was nervous about it. Then Emily worked with him, and we met there, and it was an amazing experience for me because we became friends very quickly.
“We had a lot in common, and I’d say a month or so after we became friends he said, ‘you write, right?’ I said, ‘Yeah.’ Matt said, ‘Do you have any screenplay ideas?’.”

Emily Blunt’s Mary Poppins added ‘sharpness’ to the character

OHMYGOSSIP — David Magee thinks Emily Blunt’s portrayal of Mary Poppins included more of a “sharpness” then the original character.
The director of ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ has admitted that in the reboot of the 1964 musical, the leading star added the “façade of a stern nanny” to the role – made iconic by her predecessor from Julie Andrews – and the filmmaker was able to “play with that”.
In an interview with Deadline, he said: “I think when we read the books, we all enjoyed her quirkiness, her vanity, her sharpness sometimes toward the children, and her ability to hide her warmth and caring behind a façade of a stern nanny.
“And it was fun to play with that. I don’t think we consciously said, ‘We’re going to do 40% from the books, and 30% from the movie,’ or whatever, but as we were working on it, that was the character that most excited us.
“And then when Emily came aboard, she took everything that I did in the script to another level, because she just had that. So, it was a wonderful process, watching it unfold.”
The director explained that he carried out research on the era in which the film is set prior to filming so he can tell the most effective story possible.
He added “I try to always do my research into the era, so I read up on banking practices, and how shares certificates for companies work, and what happened in foreclosure in London during that era.
“At a certain point, you absorb all you can, and then you think, ‘Well, what do we need for this story? And what do people want for this story?’
“I don’t think they want a lesson in banking; I don’t think they want to know how contracts worked back then. We learned all we could, and then we took the license that we wanted in order to tell the story that mattered most to us.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez’s workout classes reportedly cost $300 an hour.
The 26-year-old star works hard to keep herself in good shape and she’s seemingly happy to spend a pretty penny on her keep-fit sessions, which include a Hot Pilates class.
A source told E! News: “She loves that the heat truly cleanses her body and she has been feeling much better since going frequently.”
The classes reportedly take place in 95-degree heated studios and the participants are encouraged to use light weights and resistance bands to help sculpt their figure.
An insider explained that the overarching ambition behind the energy-sapping routine is to release stress and to increase flexibility.
Meanwhile, Selena recently reveled she is “excited for the new year” following her trip to rehab.
The ‘Wolves’ hitmaker entered a treatment facility at the beginning of October after suffering an “emotional breakdown” due to issues related to Lupus and her kidney transplant.
But according to an insider, Selena is now feeling much more positive and is determined to make the most of her opportunities in 2019.
An insider explained: “She’s feeling like this is a fresh start and she has new skills to help her navigate daily life. She’s doing well and is feeling great. She’s following a simple daily routine that involves a work out, either hiking, Pilates or hot yoga, therapy sessions and spending time with friends.”
The brunette beauty has reportedly started “going to church”, and is “working with several professionals” who are helping her put together a routine so she can stay healthy.
The source added: “[She is] going to church and surrounding herself with the right people. She is working with several professionals that are helping her focus on being positive and staying healthy.
“She is spending time with them daily and has a strong support system in place.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Andy Cohen is having a baby boy.
The 50-year-old star announced on his show ‘Watch What Happens Live’ days before Christmas that he will welcome his first child via a surrogate “in around six weeks time”, and he’s since revealed the gender of his impending arrival.
Speaking to host Anderson Cooper on CNN’s live New Year’s Eve’s show, he said: “I remember last year standing here thinking, ‘Will my baby be born this year?’
“So, this is the biggest year for me.”
Asked if he’d like to reveal the sex of the unborn baby, he replied: “It’s a boy.
“And, I got to tell you something, I can not wait to meet this boy. I think he’s going to have a nice Semitic head of hair. I’m so excited I think about nothing else.”
Andy never thought it would be “possible” to have a family as a gay man and praised his “wonderful” surrogate.
He said: “I just never thought it would be possible as a gay man to grow up and have a family.
“And, then here we are in 2018, almost [2019], and anything’s possible. I’m so grateful to a wonderful surrogate that I’m working with. I turned 50 this year, and it takes some people longer to get to that place and it took me this time.”
The comedian made his announcement at the end of his final ‘Watch What Happens Live’ show of 2018 on December 20.
He said: “I am grateful to be able to live my dream every day and grateful to you for coming along for the ride.
“I don’t take any of it for granted and throughout it I’ve always tried to be as transparent as possible.
“I overshare and I expect everyone around me to do the same.
“Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, a fair amount of prayers, and the benefit of science, if all goes according to plan in about six weeks time, I’m going to become a father.
“Thanks to a wonderful surrogate who is carrying my future.”

Joanna Lumley to return as the BAFTAs host

OHMYGOSSIP — Joanna Lumley is set to return as the host of this year’s BAFTAs.
The 72-year-old actress – who hosted the awards bash in 2018, replacing Stephen Fry in the role – has been confirmed as the presenter of the annual awards show, which is to be staged on February 10.
BAFTA said via its official Twitter account: “We are excited to be welcoming back the phenomenal Joanna Lumley as host of the #EEBAFTAs Film Awards @RoyalAlbertHall on 10 February! (sic)”
It’s also been confirmed that the ceremony will feature a performance from Cirque du Soleil.
Emma Baehr, the Director of Awards at BAFTA, said: “We’re delighted to be returning to the iconic Royal Albert Hall for the third year and collaborating again with Cirque du Soleil.
“We’re thrilled that Joanna has agreed to return as our host for a second year, she was fantastic and we’re looking forward to the ceremony with her once again at the helm.”
Joanna previously admitted she was delighted to have been offered the chance to host the BAFTAs.
She said: “I’m really just literally the host. It’s a good word, the host: it means make sure everybody is happy.
“My thrill of accepting this honour of presenting is because I adore film. The excellence of films is what I adore: the whole of the BAFTA film awards is about the brilliance of performances direction, art direction, costumes…”
Meanwhile, Amanda Berry – BAFTA’s CEO – previously revealed that Joanna’s acceptance speech for her BAFTA TV Fellowship in 2017 helped her to land the presenting role.
She said: “It is not an easy job. You need to get the tone absolutely right. You need to be able to guide the audience seamlessly through proceedings while keeping the attention on the nominees.
“We were all taken aback by Joanna’s brilliant speech when she received the BAFTA TV Fellowship last year. She was so charming and mesmerising.
“When we talked about candidates she was on the list from early on. It wasn’t a difficult decision.”
