OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Blunt says it was “so gracious” of Dame Julie Andrews to let her make Mary Poppins her own.
The ‘Devil Wears Prada’ actress was “scared” about taking on the iconic role of the nanny in 2018’s critically-acclaimed sequel, ‘Mary Poppins Returns’, and is grateful to the star of the original 1964 musical for stepping back and allowing her to work her own magic in the role.
She said: “I really understand why she (Andrews) didn’t want to be in it and it means a lot to me that she chose to not do it in the way that she did.
“She said she just didn’t want it to be her show, she wanted it to be my show, and I thought it was so gracious and so sweet and I understand that need to preserve and treasure that iconic image we all have of her. I really get that.”
Emily also revealed that the ‘Sound of Music’ actress sent her and the movie’s director, Rob Marshall, an email to give her seal of approval.
She recalled: “She wrote Rob Marshall the most beautiful email about it and loved it, so that meant a lot to all of us.”
Emily studied the books the character is based on by PL Travers for her research and based her alter-ego on the “terribly eccentric” and “very rude” traits of the nanny in his book series.
She said: “I just wanted to do my own version of her and, in the books, she is rather different and terribly eccentric and funny and very rude and very mysterious and unknowable really.
“I love PL Travers and I read everything I could about her. She kind of is Mary Poppins – it’s like an autobiography.
“Mary Poppins is a little bit frightening but that is how she is able to bring order to chaos.”

Beyonce wishes fans a ‘beautiful 2019’

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce has wished her fans a “beautiful 2019” whilst looking back on her highlights of the past year.
The ‘Crazy in Love’ singer shared a montage of clips from the 2018, including one of her celebrating New Year’s Eve (31.12.18) with husband Jay-Z, moments from their joint ‘On The Run Tour II’ and their six-year-old daughter Blue Ivy famously shushing her parents at the Grammy Awards.
A trailer for this year’s ‘Lion King’ remake, which sees Beyonce voice Nala, and a clip of her and Blue singing also made the cut.
Alongside the video, which was soundtracked to Aud Lang Syne, the 37-year-old superstar wrote: “Wishing you a beautiful 2019.”
The touching recap of 2018 comes after it was revealed the couple are raising their family on a plant-based diet.
The power couple penned an excerpt in the tome ‘The Greenprint: Plant-Based Diet, Best Body, Better World’, by Beyonce’s trainer Marco Borges, which revealed their relationship with food.
They wrote: “Having children has changed our lives more than anything else. We used to think of health as a diet – some worked for us, some didn’t. Once we looked at health as the truth, instead of a diet, it became a mission for us to share that truth and lifestyle with as many people as possible.”
Meanwhile, the Destiny’s Child star – who also has 18-month-old twins Rumi and Sir with the 49-year-old rapper – previously reminisced on her biggest accomplishments of 2018 in a heartfelt letter to her fans back in September.
In a post on her website titled ‘Your B***h at 36’ – which was posted in honour of her 37th birthday on September 4 – she wrote: “At 36, I became a mother of three. I breastfed twins. I renewed vows with my husband of ten years.
“I came back home to the stage to do Coachella, after pregnancy. Then my husband and I released our album together, ‘Everything is Love’. And we’ve been touring with our whole family around the world, and loving it.”

Kendall and Kylie Jenner attend Drake’s New Year’s Eve party

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner and her sister Kendall Jenner attended Drake’s New Year’s Eve party amid Kanye West’s feud with the rapper.
The 21-year-old make-up mogul and Kendall, 23, were both spotted among the crowd at Drake’s star-studded bash at Delilah in West Hollywood, California, where they enjoyed the night alongside the likes of Chris Brown, LeBron James, Niall Horan and Idris Elba.
Kendall attended the party with her NBA star boyfriend Ben Simmons, according to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, which also said that Kylie was seen with her boyfriend Travis Scott.
However, Kylie and Kendall’s presence at the party could raise a few eyebrows, as Kanye – who is married to their half-sister Kim Kardashian West – has recently become involved in a very public spat with Drake.
Late last month, Kanye hit out at Drake after he noticed that the rapper follows his wife on Instagram.
Prior to that, Kanye accused Drake of going behind his back to ask for clearance to use ‘Say What’s Real’, a song from his 2009 mixtape ‘So Far Gone’, which was produced by Kanye.
The ‘Heartless’ hitmaker – who has kids North, five, Saint, three, and 11-month-old Chicago with Kim – wrote: “I never knew till this morning that Drake followed my wife on Instagram back in September.
“I had to bring this up because it’s the most f***ed up thing of all and I just saw it this morning
“Imagine having a problem with somebody and they follow your wife on Instagram (sic)”
But Kanye quickly diffused any tension when he followed up his tirade with another tweet insisting that he and Kim wish Drake “the best”.
He said: “We truly wish this man the best and pray that he will find the same happiness that we have (sic)”

Bam Margera checks into rehab for the third time

OHMYGOSSIP — Bam Margera is checking into rehab for the third time.
The ‘Jackass’ star has been open about his battle with alcoholism, and he revealed this week he is entering treatment once again, a year after his last stint following an arrest for driving under the influence.
Taking to social media, he wrote on Instagram: “Off to alcohol rehab for the 3rd time. I am hoping the term 3rd time is a charm is true. (sic)”
In January 2018, Bam revealed he was checking into rehab following his arrest, and joked about life inside the treatment centre.
He said: “Rehab privileges- having my own bathroom, i can p**s and floss simultaneously, and I get to use my phone an hour a day! (sic)”
It was reported earlier last year that pro skateboarder Bam, 39, had been sentenced to three years probation – including paying fines and fees – in the DUI case.
The incident came just weeks after he and his second wife Nicole Boyd – whom he married in October 2013 – welcomed their first child, son Phoenix Wolf, on December 23.
His former co-star Steve-O, 43, has also been open about his own battle with addiction, and shortly after Bam’s arrest he offered his friend some advice.
He said: “That’s all anyone wants – to see him happy or healthy. You just get to a certain point, you surrender to the process.”
He added that friends have been concerned about him for a while now, and while people hoped having a child would help him, that’s not always the case.
He explained: “A lot of people have been concerned about Bram for a long time … You’ve gotta get sober. Now, he’s just had a kid, a lot of people think that having a kid, ‘Oh I’m gonna get my act together because I’m having a kid’.
“But that’s the thing about the disease of alcoholism, you have no power over it.”

Demi Lovato pledges not to ‘take life for granted’

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato has pledged not to “take another day in life for granted”.
The 26-year-old pop star – who suffered a drug overdose in July – posted a philosophical message on Instagram as she looked forward to 2019.
She wrote: “So grateful for the lessons I’ve learned this year. I will never take another day in life for granted, even the bad ones.”
Demi also thanked her fans for supporting her through her recent troubles.
She said: “Thankful for my fans, friends, family and everyone who supported me through this year. God bless.”
Prior to Christmas, Demi reveled she feels “sober and grateful to be alive” after her overdose.
The singer – who spent time in rehab after she was found unconscious at her Los Angeles home – reassured fans she is fine but also asked for some space.
She wrote on Twitter: “I am sober and grateful to be alive and taking care of ME.
“Someday I’ll tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened and what my life is like today.. but until I’m ready to share that with people please stop prying and making up s**t that you know nothing about. I still need space and time to heal..
“I would love to set the record straight on all the rumors out there but I literally don’t owe anyone anything so I’m not going to. All my fans need to know is I’m working hard on myself, I’m happy and clean and I’m SO grateful for their support.
“I’m so blessed I get to take this time to be with family, relax, work on my mind, body and soul and come back when I’m ready. I have my fans to thank for that. I’m so grateful, truly. I love you guys so f**king much thank you (sic).”

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine McGuinness feels “happy, healthy and strong” after gaining a stone in weight.
The ‘Real Housewives of Cheshire’ star – who is married to comedian Paddy McGuinness – has shared before and after video clips of her weight-loss over the last 12 months, revealing she feels much better from having added a few extra pounds.
Christine, 30, captioned her Instagram post: “This is February (left) vs December (right)
I’ve gained over 1 stone and feel much better for it!
I started 2018 feeling very weak, broken and worthless.. I’m leaving 2018 feeling happy, healthy and strong.
Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to get back up and realise how strong you are.
Everyone has good and bad times in life, focus on the good. Remember things do change so never make a permanent decision on temporary feelings.

The first video clip is thought to have been filmed around the time Christine – who has five-year-old twins Leo and Penelope, as well as two-year-old daughter Felicity – admitted her marriage was under strain.
After Paddy was seen looking cosy with former All Saints star Nicole Appleton in London, she confessed: “I’ve got no regrets. It’s been really difficult recently but in a positive way, it has made me realise I want to spend more time with him, to try and do more things together.”

AJ Pritchard fears going out in crowds after nightclub attack

OHMYGOSSIP — AJ Pritchard fears going out in “larger crowds” after he and his brother Curtis Pritchard were attacked in a nightclub.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro and his fellow dancer sibling were allegedly set upon by a group of up to eight men, leaving Curtis with torn knee cartilage and the pair with several bruises, and Curtis believes the incident may have been sparked by “jealously” towards them.
He said: “I can only say perhaps it was jealousy, because AJ was doing a couple of photos with people.
“He’s a good looking lad. I was the one getting asked to take the photos, which is fine.”
AJ added: “If someone comes up to me and asks me for a photo, if they do it politely, I’m always going to say yes.
“It [the incident] has made me very aware of putting myself in a scenario of larger crowds.
“Obviously I’m doing the ‘Strictly’ tour coming up and I will think twice …
“The really sad thing in this scenario was that we were just out to have a good time, and it came from nowhere.
“There was none of us in the first place causing a hassle or anything, we were not there for that scenario, that’s what is really sad for us.”
Curtis has bene forced to pull out of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ training following the attack, which took place at Nakatcha, a club in Nantwich, Cheshire.
Speaking in a joint interview on ‘This Morning’, he said: “I tore the cartilage on the inside and the outside of my knee.
“I’ve had to pull out of ‘Dancing with the Stars’.
“They’re saying it’ll be around about three weeks before I can start walking on it fully and around about four to five weeks before I can start dancing on it.
“We weren’t there for trouble at all. We hadn’t seen each other for a long time. We wanted to spend Christmas together and have a good time.
“Once it happened the first thing that came to my mind was, ‘We’re in trouble. AJ is in trouble. We need to get out of this situation.’ We weren’t there to fight.
“I’m lucky AJ was there, because if I was still stood where I was I would’ve been in a much worse way. AJ managed to get me out of the situation.
“He managed to carry me off the floor and he managed to carry me to safety.”
AJ added: “As you turned to your left you were punched, and you were protecting me, taking the full brunt to the face and kick to the body, you start falling and I realised that in this scenario there’s no winning.”
When asked if they fought back, he replied: “Absolutely not.”
Lauren Steadman, who AJ partnered in the latest ‘Strictly’ series, sent a message to the pair via video link on the show.
The Paralympian said: “Hi guys, I know you’ve been through a really rough time, but everybody is behind you.
“You two are so strong. Let’s move forward, 2019, you’re both amazing and everyone is behind you. See you soon.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Emmerdale’s Fiona Wade has got engaged to former co-star Simon Cotton.
The 39-year-old soap star – who has been playing Priya Sharma in ‘Emmerdale’ since 2011 – revealed the happy news on her Instagram account on New Year’s Day (01.01.19).
The actress posted a picture of her and her husband-to-be embracing and announced to her 53,800 followers: “Two days ago this beautiful man asked me to be his wife.
“There has never been an easier answer to a question…. Yes! Feel so incredibly blessed.
“Wishing you all a wonderful 2019 & so much love for the year ahead. (sic)”
Fiona’s ‘Emmerdale’ co-stars were quick to congratulate her and Simon, who appeared on the show when he briefly played Home Farm estate client Hugh Bryant in August 2017.
Mark Charnock – who plays Marlon Dingle – wrote: “Wonderful news!!! Congratulations lovely Fiona. What a way to go into 2019. Xx (sic)”.
Michelle Hardwick – who plays Vanessa Woodfield – added: “So much love for you two.”
The 42-year-old star recently got engaged herself – having proposed to girlfriend and ‘Emmerdale’ producer Kate Brooks last month.
Kate also added: “This is just perfect.”
While Fiona’s real life relationship is happy and stable, the same can’t be said for her alter-ego Priya.
During her time in the Dales, Priya has had a fling with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), a failed marriage to Rakesh Kotecha (Pasha Bocarie) and an affair with Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan).
Back in March, the actress kept her new lover low-key and said she was dating an “actor and writer”, but did not reveal his name.
She said: “I’m with someone right now. He’s an actor and writer based in London.
“It’s fairly new, we’ve been together since last year and he’s a very wonderful guy, but I’ve kept it quiet.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sean Ward has given up cannabis, porn and alcohol in a bid to combat depression.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who played the role of Callum Logan in the ITV soap until 2015 – has spoken candidly about his mental health troubles in a new Instagram video, revealing he’s quit his vices as he works towards beating depression.
He shared: “So there’s a few things I had to change to get past the first stages of depression. Three main things for me.
“I have a very addictive personality. One of them was alcohol. I was hitting the bottle hard. It runs in my family.
“So that was one thing I had to cut out, alcohol.
“The next thing was cannabis. You know I’m an actor, I’ve always had a puff here and there.
“You think, ‘It helps me create a character,’ but actually it just makes you dopey as hell so I had to quit the cannabis.
“And third and most importantly, I apologise because my mum might see this, but porn. I had to quit watching porn. It’s for the devil. It ruins relationships. Those three things set me on a clear path.”
Sean, 30 – who previously dated actress Georgia May Foote – said in the accompanying caption that he felt a need to accept responsibility for his mistakes.
He wrote: “Once my whole world was fragmented due to depression I realised a lot of things had crept into my being that did not support my dream.
“I take full responsibility for my addictions and now I’m back in control. It sounds obvious but NO BOOZE, NO DRUGS & NO PORN.
“All these changes gave my body and brain the time to actually deal with my problems rather than trying to numb out the pain which actually in the long run makes you so much worse. Hope this helps.
“See your reality for what it is and make the changes for your future. To infinity and beyond. (sic)”

Matthew Morrison says Greatest Dancer bosses want captain bickering

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew Morrison says ‘The Greatest Dancer’ bosses are keen for the dance captains to “bicker more”.
The former ‘Glee’ star will line up on the panel of the BBC One show alongside Cheryl and Oti Mabuse, and while producers want the trio to do more squabbling between themselves, he insists they don’t feel the need to do so because they get on so well.
He said: “Even between the dance captains, they were kind of saying you should bicker more between you.
“No. We don’t feel that. We have such a bond, the three of us, and we’re all there for the same reasons.”
The 40-year-old singer-and-actor has enjoyed getting to know his fellow dance captains, and believes ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Oti will be the “breakout star of the show”.
He said: “Oti, I never knew her, but I think she’s the breakout star of this show.
“Oh my gosh, [she has] so much energy. She’s such a bright light and this is her first time being in a different role.
“She’s usually the one being judged, so it’s been fun getting to know her.”
Matthew had already exchanged pleasantries with Cheryl when they starred opposite one another in 2012 movie ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’, and admits it is “funny” that she portrayed a TV dance talent show judge in the motion picture.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, he added: “I knew Cheryl. We did a movie together called ‘What To Expect When You’re Expecting’. It’s funny, because the opening scene of this movie, I play opposite Cameron Diaz, this unknown actress.
“It was a dance show setting and Cheryl was a judge, so she was giving her feedback.
“We only crossed paths and said hello.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex George is dating ‘Ibiza Weekender’ star Amelia Bath.
The 28-year-old doctor – who starred on ‘Love Island’ in 2018 – has taken to Instagram to confirm he’s in a relationship with fellow TV star Amelia, 24.
Alex captioned a photo of himself and his new girlfriend standing in front of a festive backdrop: “The person I would like to couple up with is…. (sic)”
Despite his appearance on ‘Love Island’, Alex has recently struggled to find a girlfriend, revealing in August that he’d been single for three years.
At the time, Alex admitted he considered the ITV show to be a “desperate” move in his search for his dream girl.
Asked why he decided to appear on the programme, he shared: “I’ve been single for three years. Desperate measures were required…
“It was something completely different to what I’d done before, a new challenge. And I thought, if I come out with a girlfriend, amazing.”
Alex confessed it was a tough decision to go on the show in the first place.
But the NHS doctor thought he owed it to himself to take the opportunity, as he’d been so consumed by studying and his work over recent years.
He said: “There was part of me thinking, is it right to take the time off?
“But I’ve hardly taken any time off from work over the last few years, and through med school it’s been non-stop, so I feel like I’m allowed to have a bit of time. And I didn’t expect to be on there for eight weeks, to be honest!”

Mary Queen Of Scots director fought for a ‘period in a period movie’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Mary Queen Of Scots’ director Josie Rourke had to fight to include a “period in a period movie”.
The filmmaker admitted that in her latest historical drama – starring Saoirse Ronan in the titular role and Margot Robbie as Scottish queen and Elizabeth I respectively – she felt it was important to include themes surrounding “women’s bodies” and “women’s pleasure”.
In an interview with The Guardian newspaper, she said: “I was fighting for a period in a period movie, those were instructive discussions about how honest we were being about women’s bodies and what they do, women’s pleasure and what that is, and a queen’s body as a political canvas.
“I felt that was something I hadn’t seen before, that I just really wanted to show.”
The 46-year-old director insisted that although many female viewers won’t be able to relate to the film’s story of two royals fighting for the throne, they would understand a narrative about fighting “for the rights of our bodies”.
She added: “There are not many of us who know what it feels like to be a crowned head of Europe – but what we do know is what it’s like to fight for the rights of our bodies.”
Rourke went on to explain that although the scenes were included in the end, she still believes that showing periods in film needs to be normalised.
She said: “We need to show this stuff. It does need normalising. A journalist asked me how hard it was to shoot the scene where Mary has her period, and my answer was, ‘Not hard at all!’
“There were six women in that room, and it was probably the thing that just most easily staged itself. But it does continue to freak some people out.”

Robert Zemeckis says Back To The Future 4 ‘can’t be done’

OHMYGOSSIP — Robert Zemeckis thinks ‘Back To The Future’ fans know a fourth film “can’t be done”.
The director behind the hugely popular science fiction trilogy – which starred Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd as unlikely time travelling duo Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown – has spoken out after a recent poll saw the franchise top the list of movies people want to see more of.
Speaking to Yahoo, he said: “I think what the poll is saying… they asked a specific question, so I guess they felt it was important to spend money to poll the world, and ask this question, but don’t you think we could all have just given them the same answer?
“It confirms what we all know, but what I think the fans are really saying is that we really like this movie and if it were possible I’d like more of it. But they understand that it can’t be done.”
Zemeckis added he was “adamantly against” the idea of another film in the series almost 30 years after the final part hit the big screen.
Meanwhile, leading man Fox previously admitted the fate of the ‘Back To The Future’ franchise is not in his hands as he pointed out that the film’s co-creator, co-writer and co-producer Bob Gale is the “gatekeeper”.
It means that he decides whether or not to make another movie, but thus far Gale has repeatedly insisted that he has no interest in reviving the series, while both he and Zemeckis have claimed they’ll do everything they can to block another movie.
On the other hand, actor Thomas Wilson – who starred in the films as bully Biff Tannen – believes the time has come to make another film.
He said during a panel discussion: “Basically, I think America is saying, ‘C’mon, they’ve wrecked every other franchise with bad sequels, why not this one?’ C’mon, we would watch it until it sucks.”

Christopher Bailey will receive a CBE for his work at Burberry

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher Bailey is set to receive a CBE for his work at Burberry.
The 47-year-old designer is set to become a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire – an accolade which recognizes the achievements of people across the United Kingdom – for his services to fashion in the Queen’s New Year’s Honour’s list
The former president and creative officer of the fashion house joined Burberry in 2001 and served 17-years with the company before stepping down last year.
This will mark Christopher’s second royal honor, after he was awarded an MBE, or Master of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire back in 2009.
Ricardo Tisci has since stepped up to fill the place Christopher left when he moved on from the label, and Burberry’s chief executive officer Marco Gobbetti has worked with the designer on his past collections with Givenchy, and said he will “reinforce” the predecessor’s ambitions for the company.
He said: “Riccardo is one of the most talented designers of our time. His designs have an elegance that is contemporary and his skill in blending streetwear with high fashion is highly relevant to today’s luxury consumer.
“Riccardo’s creative vision will reinforce the ambitions we have for Burberry and position the brand firmly in luxury.”
Meanwhile, Christopher unveiled his final collection for the company in February last year and said he was “really excited” to see what the future held for the company.
He said: “I’m really excited to see what happens for the future of Burberry. And I’m tremendously proud to be handing over a role that has given me unbelievable joy.”
The designer’s last show was dedicated to a number of organisations’ supporting the LGBTQ community and featured a collection of bright colours and diversity.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga’s highly-anticipated beauty line has launched it’s own website.
The 32-year-old singer secured the cosmetic line’s trademark Haus Beauty back in February under her company Ate My Heart Inc, and now the star has launched her website HausBeauty.com for fans to sign-up to receive more news about the release date and products.
The cosmetics line will sell a broad range of beauty products, including foundation, eyeliners, shadows and lipsticks, as well as less popular products like beauty milks, according to The Blast.
Gaga is keen to broaden her business interests and the ‘Joanne’ hitmaker has recently been trying to launch a line of wines inspired by her family’s Italian restaurant.
While she has always attracted headlines for her outrageous fashion sense during her career, the New York-born star – whose real name is Stefani Germanotta – previously admitted that her style is a reflection of her mood.
Speaking in 2015, the chart-topping singer shared: “There’s always a dichotomy within me. If you see me dressing really out there, I tend to be self-deprecating inside.
“When I dress like a lady, I tend to be feeling very wild and confident. That sounds bizarre, but I get a lot of s**t done with that blonde hair.”
At the time, Gaga claimed that while she hadn’t changed much as an individual, she’s become more aware of how to pursue her ambitions.
She said: “I haven’t changed. It’s just that I’m almost 30. I’m learning how to function effectively in society.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Davina McCall won’t stop posting bikini pictures, despite her body-shamers.
The 51-year-old television presenter recently came under fire for appearing too thin after posting a picture on Instagram in a bikini, however the former ‘Big brother’ host has admitted that the incident has only encouraged her to share more revealing snaps.
In an interview with the Daily Mail’s You magazine, she said: “OK, you think I’m too thin? I’m going to post a lot of pictures of myself in bikinis. That’s what I’m like. Tell me not to do something and I’m going to do it.”
The ‘Jump’ host confessed that she ignores body-shamers, and those who criticize her personal choices only inspire her to make more bold decisions.
She joked: “I’m going to get a massive tattoo when I’m 60. Or, you know, I’m going to get a boob job when I’m 75! If you tell me I can’t, I will.
“I’m going to wear a bikini when I’m 90! I’m going to do an Ironman [the world’s hardest one-day triathlon] when I’m 70!
“If you think that I can’t do it, I’m going to show you that I can – and I’m going to do it in a bikini.”
It’s not just bikini’s which make Davina feel confident, and the star wears a matching underwear set every single day because it makes her feel “sassy” – although she insisted she chooses the lingerie for herself and not to “impress” anybody else.
She said: “Obviously matching underwear, that’s a thing I always do…Every single day. It’s beautiful, sexy underwear. All different colours, but always matching.
“Because it makes me feel sassy. And I’m not doing it to impress anybody. I’m doing it for me.”
