Sheridan Smith hasn’t set a wedding date

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheridan Smith has not yet set a date for her wedding as she is happy to just be engaged at the moment.
The 37-year-old singer-and-actress met 28-year-old insurance broker Jamie Horn on dating app Tinder last year and it was revealed that he had popped the question back in May 2018 just three months after they met.
Sheridan admits she has never been happier but she is in no rush to get married to her fiancé as she is content to just enjoy her new life with her man on their farm.
When asked if she had started planning her nuptials in an interview on ‘This Morning’, she said: “I’m just going to enjoy being engaged for now, I’m engaged to be married. We’re just enjoying each other’s company and enjoying our new life together in the country.”
Admitting she is still surprised that Jamie did ask her to marry him, she added: “I can’t believe it, someone’s going to have me! When he asked my mum for my hand in marriage, she said, ‘Are you sure you can handle her?’ I’m in a really good place, I feel really happy.”
Sheridan took some time away from her career in the wake of her dad Colin’s death in 2016 as she struggled to cope with her grief.
The British actress will be seen on TV screens again in new drama series ‘Cleaning Up’ and she admits her life in the countryside has given her the “normality and sanity” she needs to be able to work.
Sheridan – who recently released her second album ‘A Northern Soul’ – said: “I’ve got four donkeys, seven dogs, I’m a country girl now, I’ve got farmer boots and everything, I’m really happy. I feel like now I’ve got that normality and sanity I can come to work. I go back and I sit with the dogs and the donkeys and if you’re having a bad day they just don’t judge you.”

Rochelle Humes: Phillip Schofield is a dream to work with

OHMYGOSSIP — Rochelle Humes says Phillip Schofield is “such a dream” to work with.
The 29-year-old TV presenter co-hosted ‘This Morning’ alongside the 56-year-old star while Holly Willoughby was guest co-hosting ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ late last year, and the former The Saturdays star gushed that that her co-presenter is fantastic to work with, and she thrives off the adrenaline rush of working on live TV.
She told Cosmopolitan magazine: “Phillip Schofield is such a dream to work with. Exactly how you’d imagine him to be.
“There’s a lot to learn, but live TV is such a buzz.”
Rochelle – who was previously in group S Club Juniors, who were formed in 2001 as part of a reality TV show ‘S Club Search’ – never intended to be in a girl band, and instinctively knew that she wanted to return to TV when the group split.
She said: “I never imagined I’d be in a girl band. When me and the girls decided to stop [performing], I knew I’d go back into telly.
“People would say, ‘Are you going to do a solo song?’ Never an interest. Never even tried.”
Despite starting out in a reality show, Rochelle – who was in The Saturdays from 2007 to 2014 – insists she had to work hard to make it in the music industry.
Speaking about The Saturdays, she said: “When we started it was like, ‘Jeez, we do so, so much. [From S Club Juniors] I’d had this preconceived idea that it was ‘do some work, have a break’, but we didn’t get fame overnight on a reality show.
“We had to build our fanbase. We worked hard just for people to be aware of who we were.
“We’d get corporate gigs for some Christmas party and everyone would be in suits and really stiff, and we were like, ‘Why have you booked The Saturdays?!’
“We’d just look at each other and carry on.
“We’d get changed in loos, never had a dressing room, didn’t stay in hotels, just drove back.”

Isla Fisher debuts blonde hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Isla Fisher is completely unrecognisable after debuting her new blonde tresses.
The 42-year-old ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ actress has ditched her signature red locks and opted for a golden blonde look which she unveiled to fans via a snap on social media on Tuesday night (01.01.19).
Speaking to her one million followers on Instagram, Isla captioned the picture: “Go blonde in ’19 or go home”.
The Australian star has reportedly been cast alongside Steve Coogan and David Mitchell in filming the Michael Winterbottom-directed movie ‘Greed’.
In the upcoming film, Coogan will play the part of a self-absorbed retail billionaire, according to Deadline, which reports that Isla will appear as his on-screen wife.
Isla’s character is said to be the only person who can truly understand the businessman and his complex personality.
Winterbottom is helming the movie on behalf of Film 4 and Sony International.
But before ‘Greed’ is released in cinemas, Isla will next be appearing in the upcoming comedy flick ‘The Beach Bum’, which also stars the likes of Zac Efron, Jonah Hill and Matthew McConaughey.
Meanwhile, Isla – who is married to British comedy star Sacha Baron Cohen – recently admitted she respects her husband even more since they worked together.
The actress – who has kids Olive, 10, Elula, eight, and Montgomery, three, with Sacha – shared the screen with her husband in 2016’s ‘Grimsby’ and she subsequently admitted there’s no one she’d rather make a movie with.
She said: “We had a really fun time [on ‘Grimsby’]. We shared a trailer. And it was just hilarious.
“Obviously I always respected him, but having been around so many big comedy stars and seeing how they improvise and stuff – and then to work with my husband and see him be the best improv comedian I’ve ever worked with, I loved it.”

The 30-year-old ‘Work’ hitmaker revealed via her YouTube channel that she was coming to rescue her fans “busted” post New Year skin with with the launch of her new Pro Filt’r Concealer – to match her line of foundations – which will be available in 50 shades to suit every skin tone.
Speaking on Fenty Beauty By Rihanna on New Year’s Day (01.01.19), she joked: “Half of y’all looking busted. We are here, Fenty Beauty to the rescue.

Michael Kors’ acquisition of Versace is complete

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Kors’ acquisition of Versace is complete.
The 59-year-old designer announced his plans to buy the company for $2.7 billion last year and Michael Kors Holdings Ltd has now officially changed its name to Capri Holdings and will trade under the new stock market ticker CPRI.
The fashion mogul brought the brand in September 2018 as part of its action plan to become a luxury fashion conglomerate.
Michael Kors Holdings also purchased luxury footwear brand Jimmy Choo Ltd, for $1.35 billion in 2017 as part of his plan to break into the high-end fashion market.
John Idol, chairman and chief executive officer of Michael Kors, said in a statement last year: “Versace has long been recognised as one of the world’s leading fashion luxury houses, and is synonymous with Italian glamour and style.
“We are thrilled that the house of Versace is now part of the Capri Holdings family of luxury brands.”
Despite the acquisition of the fashion house, creative director of the Milan-based label, Donatella Versace has promised fans she isn’t “going anywhere” and 63-year-old Italian designer has insisted “Versace will remain Italian”.
Posting a professionally shot picture of herself on Instagram, Donatella wrote: “Ciao a tutti! You all know how I love the interaction that I have with all of you here. First of all, I wanted to let you know that I am NOT going anywhere, so for those who wanted to get rid of me, well…it ain’t happening!
“I also wanted to reassure you that Versace will remain Italian, made in Italy and that it will keep its glamour, daring and inclusive attitude that have made you all love it. This is just the beginning of an exciting, new adventure that I hope you will live together with me! Xoxo (sic)”.

Dwayne Johnson and Hulk Hogan pay tribute to late Gene Okerlund

OHMYGOSSIP — Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Hulk Hogan have paid tribute to the late ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund.
The legendary WWE interviewer has died aged 76 and since the news broke on Wednesday (02.01.19) many of his former colleagues have spoken out to remember the impact he had on the wrestling business.
Sharing a snap of the pair together, Dwayne wrote on Instagram: “We lost a wrestling legend on the microphone. The incomparable “Mean Gene” Okerlund. What an iconic career and extremely distinct voice of the squared circle during distinct eras of the smart/cool sounding “neutral” wrestling commentator. Solie, VKM, Monsoon, JR, Okerlund etc.
“RIP legend, strength to your Okerlund ohana and thanks for the awesome memories – DJ #LemmeTellYaSumthinMeanGene (sic)”
Okerlund’s close friend Hulk – who inducted him into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006 – also paid his respects on social media.
He tweeted: “The best partner I ever had. We never rehearsed or did anything scripted from a writer. Gene would ask me “hey big man what do u want to do?” I would always answer “just follow you brother” and it worked from 1980 – 2017. RIP my brother HH (sic)”
Former world champion Ric Flair – generally regarded as one of the best talkers in pro wrestling history – joined those offering kind words to the man and his impact on pro wrestling.
He said: “One Of My Closest Friends Since 1972 Until This Very Sad Day In 2019. Not Only The Greatest Voice And Personality In The History Of Announcing, But A Man Who Touched
“Everyone’s Life Who Were Fortunate Enough To Know Him. Rest In Peace Knowing No One Will Ever Replace You. You Will Forever Be MEAN BY GOD GENE! (sic)”
WWE confirmed the sad news with a statement this week, and the company’s owner Vince McMahon followed it up with his own personal response.
He added: “It was impossible not to crack a smile whenever “Mean” Gene Okerlund entered a room. He was the voice behind so many of WWE’s most iconic and entertaining moments, and the WWE family will miss him immensely.”

Letitia Wright up for 2019 EE Rising Star Award

OHMYGOSSIP — Letitia Wright has been nominated for the 2019 EE Rising Star Award at this year’s BAFTAs.
The ‘Black Panther’ star is up for the prestigious accolade along with Jessie Buckley, Cynthia Erivo, Barry Keoghan and Lakeith Stanfield and the 25-year-old actress has paid tribute to her fellow nominees, admitting it “means a lot” to be nominated among “so many talented actors”.
She said: “I would like to thank both BAFTA and the jury from the bottom of my heart for putting me forward for the 2019 EE Rising Star Award – it’s a huge honour and a fantastic category to be nominated for, especially as the winner is decided by film fans at home.”
The nominees were chosen by a respected group of jurors including actors Rosamund Pike, Richard Madden, Ray Panthaki and broadcaster Edith Bowman, and the winner will be chosen by the public
Stanfield, 27, came to prominence in Jordan Peele’s horror hit ‘Get Out’ and can currently be seen in Boots Riley’s hit debut ‘Sorry To Bother You’ and the American actor-and-rapper admits it is “an honour” to be up for a BAFTA.
He said: “On behalf of the entire ‘Sorry To Bother You’ team, thank you BAFTA. It is an honour and a pleasure to be considered.”
‘American Animals’ star Keoghan admitted it was an “amazing feeling” and “incredible honour” to make the shortlist, whilst ‘Widows’ actress Erivo said it “means the world” to be acknowledged for her work.
Buckley recently starred in ‘Wild Rose’ which is due to be released in April, and the actress thanked BAFTA and the jury “from the bottom of my heart for putting me forward for the 2019 EE Rising Star Award”.
The winner will be announced on Sunday February 10 at the EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony in London and voting is now open to the public at ee.co.uk/BAFTA

Gerard Way teases ‘heavy’ new song about witches

OHMYGOSSIP — Gerard Way has started writing a “kind of heavy” new song inspired by witches.
The former My Chemical Romance frontman has teased fresh material for 2019 as he reflected on the last 12 months and revealed he has been working on music after spending some time focused on his comic series ‘The Umbrella Academy’ and its upcoming Netflix adaptation.
The star – who shared a snap of a mask he has bought – wrote on his own website: “2018 was a dark year full of black magic in my opinion, so it got me thinking about witches again.
“I was inspired to buy this mask because I had just written a song called ‘I Am The Hag’, which I haven’t finished yet. It’s kind of heavy. Maybe I’ll release it in 2019.”
The ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’ hitmaker had a busy 2018, including collaborating with his brother and former bandmate Mikey Way on standalone single ‘Baby You’re A Haunted House’.
It appears Gerard, 41, has been feeling more musically creative after a spell working on other projects.
He added: “Almost every Friday this year I got to make music again, which was great. Ended up with quite the collection of demos and even got to start releasing music again toward the end of the year.
“Glad music was playing a role in my life again, as I had been spending the last two years writing comics and working on television.”
As well as teaming up with Mikey, the singer – who released his debut album ‘Hesitant Alien’ in 2014 – also worked with The Regrettes’ 18-year-old singer Lydia Night on single ‘Dasher’.

Matty Healy says Kanye West’s social media rants are ‘deeply sad’

OHMYGOSSIP — Matty Healy suggested it is “deeply sad” to see Kanye West’s public rants on social media overshadow his music.
The 1975 frontman has praised the influence the ‘Black Skinhead’ hitmaker has had on modern music – including his own band – but he had some strong words for the star after he took to Twitter to once again discuss his love for US president Donald Trump.
Responding to a fan, he tweeted: “It’s like Prince, Sam. Being inspired by black music (post mid 70’s) is being inspired by Prince. Unavoidable.
“Same with Kanye post 2005. I learned so much from him. That’s why at the moment it’s like watching your dad losing a physical fight. Deeply sad.”
His comments come after Matty posted a message on New Year’s Day (01.01.19) and pondered how the Kanye of eight years ago would see himself now.
He said: “Man Kanye when I was 20. Like, some kind of God. So much influence on all of us. I really wanna know what 2010 Kanye would be saying about all of this.”
The singer’s own tweets follow the 41-year-old rapper – who previously sported a red baseball cap emblazoned with the slogan ‘Make America Great Again’ during a meeting in the Oval Office – insisting he’ll only perform live if he’s wearing the controversial accessory.
Taking to Twitter, the ‘I Love it’ hitmaker declared: “From now on I’m performing with my mutherf***** hat on (sic)”
The ‘Gold Digger’ rapper – who is married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian West – went on to explain why the President’s mantra is so meaningful to him.
He wrote: “One of my favorite of many things about what the Trump hat represents to me is that people can’t tell me what to do because I’m black. (sic)”

Felicity Jones: You have to be with a man who is a feminist

OHMYGOSSIP — Felicity Jones says it was vital that her “man” was a feminist.
The ‘On the Basis of Sex’ star married 46-year-old filmmaker Charles Guard in July 2018, and has spoken out about how important it was that her husband believes in equal rights for men and women, in order for her to call herself a feminist.
She told the latest issue of Marie Claire magazine: “I believe that to be a feminist doesn’t mean you have to do it all on your own; the partnership, the sharing, that makes it so much easier. But you have to be on the same side.
“You have to be with a man who is also a feminist.”
The 35-year-old actress also feels it’s about time “ambitious women” stopped needing to “shout” to be heard in the workplace, which she blames on men fearing powerful women.
She said: “I think we get driven into boxes, like the idea that if you are an ‘ambitious woman’ you have to be mean in order to be heard.
“I don’t like that attitude. That, I think, is the challenge of our generation: to challenge this idea that to be heard and to have an opinion, you are somehow frightening. It is basically this fear of women, isn’t it? And this fear of change.”
The British star grew up in Birmingham, North England, and admits she felt “lost” growing up.
She told the publication: “I felt like a bit of an outsider growing up. I always had a sense of not being in the cool gang, not being on the inside.”
Felicity’s next role sees her take on the part of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, who was appointed by former President Bill Clinton, in ‘On the Basis of Sex’.
The actress revealed she had to have her teeth straightened so that they looked “American” for the movie.
She said: “I had my teeth capped to get the shape of Ruth’s teeth. I have very English teeth, and she has very [straight] American teeth, so to make that change was helpful. And wearing contact lenses so my eyes were more like hers.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dawn Ward insists she is not jealous of girls who post bikini pictures online.
The ‘Real Housewives of Cheshire’ star claims that she is not envious of people who share bikini snaps of themselves, because she prefers to concentrate on being happy in her own body.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she said: “I have come back and I’m a stone heavier. Look, at the end of the day I’m not going to look at some young girl in a bikini thinking, ‘Oh my God, look at her.’
“I would think, ‘You’re a stone heavier, you’ve had too much food get on a diet and sort yourself.’
“Don’t go looking on the negativity on someone else or strive to be somebody.
“You’ve got to be happy within yourself. I think there’s much deeper issues.
“Whether you go on social media or not, you are going to see people that are good looking, have got more money and have got bigger and better things, and actually it’s about the way they feel about as a person.”
The blonde stunner has come under fire previously for over-sharing on social media, but she insisted posting messages and pictures on the online platform can be positive, admitting her and her family have inspired others by displaying their strength as a unit.
She said: “It was a family decision to join ‘The Real Housewives’ and I have no regrets and it’s been amazing.
“But we share our whole life, our family and there have been some really positive things for me personally with social media.
“My husband’s parents – his mother’s got quite severe Alzheimer’s and his father has been diagnosed with a brain tumour.
“We decided as a family we are going to make memories this year.
“I cannot tell you how many people have been on my social media to say they have lost a parent.”

Ferne McCann ready to date again

OHMYGOSSIP — Ferne McCann is ready to find love again 18 months after split from Arthur Collins.
The 28-year-old star feels ready to go dating again, after she left her ex-boyfriend , who was jailed for 20 years after he threw acid across a packed London nightclub dance floor, injuring 22 people, in April 2017.
At the time, the reality star was carrying his baby – her now 14-month-old daughter Sunday – but she is now ready to make more time for herself.
Ferne told The Sun Online: “For so long I’ve been saying I don’t have the time.
“I’ve always thought that this comes first, or that comes first, and couldn’t imagine how I would have fitted dating into my busy life.
“My priority is my daughter Sunday and I have to work to provide for her, but she’s a year old now and life is moving on.
“I’m at that stage of my life, so I am more open to dating now. That’s my new year’s resolution.”
The TV presenter is set to return to our screens early this year for her third series of ‘Ferne McCann: First Time Mum’, which documents her life as she adjusts to the life as a single parent.
She said: “The first series was me learning on the job, being a mum and winging it.
“I’m still doing that but this is more about the highs, lows and the ‘lols’.
“What I love about the show is it’s from a single parent’s perspective.
“There is nothing out there reality-wise in the UK that does that and it’s so important.
“I’ve had so many people reach out and say they relate and feel inspired by me.”

James May: Jeremy Clarkson can’t do anything

OHMYGOSSIP — James May admits Jeremy Clarkson “drives him nuts” on ‘The Grand Tour’.
The 55-year-old TV presenter is preparing for the new series of the popular online motoring series – which he co-hosts alongside Jeremy and Richard Hammond – and claims Jeremy, 58, has really limited practical skills.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph newspaper, James said: “Hammond, he’s much more … useful. Jeremy can’t do anything. I’ve never discovered anything he can do.
“I mean he can drive a car round a race track pretty well, but he wouldn’t be able to light a fire – I know this from experience.
“I don’t think he’d be able to cook anything, he can’t put a tent up, he’s not in any way practical.
“He drives me nuts. I would say Jeremy is the most conservative of us, and he’s the most establishment. Despite his reputation for being anti-establishment, he’s actually probably part of it. He’s the enemy.”
James also confessed he thinks Freddie Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness were a “radical choice” for presenting the upcoming series of BBC’s ‘Top Gear’ – which the trio hosted before their exit in 2015 – following Matt LeBlanc and Chris Evans leaving the show after it suffered poor ratings.
But James admitted the new additions could be a “clever” move.
He added: “A cricketer and a comic. I’m really keen to see what they do with the new guys, because it’s quite a radical choice.
“They may have been extremely clever because [Chris] Harris is a proper nerd: he races cars, and he buys and sells cars; he knows his stuff.”
‘The Grand Tour’ has been renewed for a fourth season which will see the trio “moving away from cars” and instead going on big road trips across the globe.
James said: “We’re turning it into a sitcom. The focus has been gradually moving away from cars for quite a long time, to be honest.
“I think in the future we will be seen as more of a travelling adventure programme.”
The new series of ‘The Grand Tour’ launches on Amazon Prime Video on January 18th.

Pegi Young has died following yearlong cancer battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Pegi Young has died aged 66.
The singer-songwriter – who was married to Canadian music legend Neil Young until 2014 – tragically passed away on Tuesday (01.01.19) following a yearlong battle with cancer in “her native California surrounded by family and friends”, according to a statement.
On the star’s Facebook page, a message posted on New Years Day read: “With great sadness, we confirm that on January 1st, after a yearlong battle with cancer, Pegi Young – mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, musician, activist and co-founder of the Bridge School – passed away surrounded by her friends and family in her native California.
“We request that the families’ privacy be respected at this time.”
The ‘Love Like Water’ hitmaker married Neil in 1978 after the pair met when she was waitressing near his ranch in California, and in 2000, the star joined him on tour as a backup singer after her debut on ‘Philadelphia’ at the 1994 Academy Awards.
She later released five country albums of her own, with the most recent being ‘Raw’ in 2017.
Pegi is survived by her two children Ben, 41, and Amber, 35, and after so much difficulty in finding a school for their son – who has cerebral palsy – she and her husband co-founded the Bridge School in the 1980’s which is a non-profit organisation that aids children with physical and speech impairments.
The married pair held a star-studded show named the Bridge School Benefit Concert between 1986 and 2016 in California to raise funds and awareness, and previous performers include David Bowie, Arcade Fire, Bruce Springsteen, Jack White and The Who.

Emmerdale favourite to return in Belfast special

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’ bosses have teased a former character will return to the show in March in some special Belfast-based episodes.
Producers Laura Shaw and Kate Brooks have told fans a number of the soap’s stars will be heading to the Northern Irish capital to shoot some eps, and the characters will bump into someone who hasn’t been in the village for “quite a while”.
Laura said: “In March we’ve got some special episodes coming up where we go to Belfast.
“A group of our characters go to Belfast and there is going to be some fun and japes over there.
“What we can reveal is maybe they’re going to bump into somebody who was in our village quite a while ago who we’ve not seen for a while.”
Laura also dropped a strong hint that the mystery character will be heading back to the village after the group’s Belfast jaunt.
She added: “And maybe that person is going to be coming back to the village with them?”
Speculation has been rife as to who the mystery character could be with some fans suggesting Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) – but she is expected to return to the village earlier than March.
Lisa recently admitted she turned down a lengthier ‘Emmerdale’ return due to other commitments.
She said: “The first initial offer was for a long period, but because of work and my commitments, there was an original storyline which has been flipped.
“It won’t be what people expect, which is even better. It leaves things very much open for the new year, shall we say.
“I had a secret meeting with the show and I had time to have a think about whether it was the right thing, but it didn’t take me a long time once they told me the story.”
Adam Barton – played by Adam Thomas – has also been talked about as a potential returnee after he went on the run, and Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) also went on the run in 2016.

The Chase’s Paul Sinha engaged

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Sinha has got engaged.
‘The Chase’ quizzer took to Twitter to reveal he had popped the question to his boyfriend, who accepted his proposal, and he is now planning to shed a few pounds ahead of his big day.
He wrote: “I proposed today. He said yes. Thus starts yet another diet.”
With the romantic chase now seemingly over for 48-year-old Paul, he was congratulated by the show’s Twitter account.
A message on the social media page read: “Congratulations Paul!”
In November 2017, Paul claimed he had made several references to being gay during episodes of ‘The Chase’, but they had “mysteriously never made the edit”.
He said: “I assumed everyone knew I was gay. I have been on the show six years and I have made lots of references to being gay.
“But they mysteriously never made the edit.”
However, he did reference his sexuality on one episode when he got a question wrong about how many pieces there are to a bikini.
He explained: “There was one time that did make the edit when I was asked how many pieces was there to a bikini.
“Now you couldn’t ask a question more simple and out of my comfort zone. But I got it wrong.
“Bradley looked at me at the end and said: ‘Bikini?” And I said that question would fall to the only Chaser whose lifestyle choices means I don’t get to see a bikini.
“So that was me coming out of the closet. I had gay on my Twitter feed for years.”
