Pegi Young has died following yearlong cancer battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Pegi Young has died aged 66.
The singer-songwriter – who was married to Canadian music legend Neil Young until 2014 – tragically passed away on Tuesday (01.01.19) following a yearlong battle with cancer in “her native California surrounded by family and friends”, according to a statement.
On the star’s Facebook page, a message posted on New Years Day read: “With great sadness, we confirm that on January 1st, after a yearlong battle with cancer, Pegi Young – mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, musician, activist and co-founder of the Bridge School – passed away surrounded by her friends and family in her native California.
“We request that the families’ privacy be respected at this time.”
The ‘Love Like Water’ hitmaker married Neil in 1978 after the pair met when she was waitressing near his ranch in California, and in 2000, the star joined him on tour as a backup singer after her debut on ‘Philadelphia’ at the 1994 Academy Awards.
She later released five country albums of her own, with the most recent being ‘Raw’ in 2017.
Pegi is survived by her two children Ben, 41, and Amber, 35, and after so much difficulty in finding a school for their son – who has cerebral palsy – she and her husband co-founded the Bridge School in the 1980’s which is a non-profit organisation that aids children with physical and speech impairments.
The married pair held a star-studded show named the Bridge School Benefit Concert between 1986 and 2016 in California to raise funds and awareness, and previous performers include David Bowie, Arcade Fire, Bruce Springsteen, Jack White and The Who.

Emmerdale favourite to return in Belfast special

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Emmerdale’ bosses have teased a former character will return to the show in March in some special Belfast-based episodes.
Producers Laura Shaw and Kate Brooks have told fans a number of the soap’s stars will be heading to the Northern Irish capital to shoot some eps, and the characters will bump into someone who hasn’t been in the village for “quite a while”.
Laura said: “In March we’ve got some special episodes coming up where we go to Belfast.
“A group of our characters go to Belfast and there is going to be some fun and japes over there.
“What we can reveal is maybe they’re going to bump into somebody who was in our village quite a while ago who we’ve not seen for a while.”
Laura also dropped a strong hint that the mystery character will be heading back to the village after the group’s Belfast jaunt.
She added: “And maybe that person is going to be coming back to the village with them?”
Speculation has been rife as to who the mystery character could be with some fans suggesting Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) – but she is expected to return to the village earlier than March.
Lisa recently admitted she turned down a lengthier ‘Emmerdale’ return due to other commitments.
She said: “The first initial offer was for a long period, but because of work and my commitments, there was an original storyline which has been flipped.
“It won’t be what people expect, which is even better. It leaves things very much open for the new year, shall we say.
“I had a secret meeting with the show and I had time to have a think about whether it was the right thing, but it didn’t take me a long time once they told me the story.”
Adam Barton – played by Adam Thomas – has also been talked about as a potential returnee after he went on the run, and Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) also went on the run in 2016.

Richard Blackwood wants EastEnders return

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Blackwood thinks ‘EastEnders’ should bring back Vincent Hubbard.
The 46-year-old actor has admitted that while he couldn’t be certain whether or not whether his alter-ego will return to Albert Square, he thinks it would be a “smart move” for the soap to bring back his character.
When asked if he’ll be back on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he said: “I don’t know. I’ll be honest, I don’t really know. I think it’s a smart move. I want to go back – ‘EastEnders’, I would go back. I’ve just had a baby on the show – I don’t want to be an absentee dad!”
The ‘Dancing on Ice’ contestant previously confessed to missing the drama and insisted that he would “happily go back” if he was approached.
He said:”I’m missing it in terms of the good times that I had there and the family I had there.
“But also, I’m happy to watch it from afar and see how it’s developing, but you know I’d always go back there.
“If there is a chance, I’d happily go back. [The door] is slightly ajar, everyone loves a Vincent so I’m happy about that.”
The star also explained on the show that he may have an advantage when it comes to his stint on ‘Dancing On Ice’ as he went to an “ice skate school” while growing up in Sweden.
When asked by host Kate Garraway whether he could skate or not, he said: “My mum went to live in Sweden when I was three or four years old.
“I used to go to school there and I would ski to school and ice-skate to school.
“I then used to skate every Wednesday and Friday at Streatham ice-rink, that was like the local hangout.”

Jane Danson forgets Corrie scripts

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane Danson’s plans to learn her ‘Coronation Street’ scripts in between ‘Dancing on Ice’ rehearsals were scuppered today when she left them at home.
The 40-year-old soap actress – who plays Leanne Battersby on the show – will appear on the upcoming 11th series of the popular ITV skating competition this weekend, but she is now skating on thin ice when it comes to learning her ‘Corrie’ lines after she mistakenly left her pages at home today (03.01.19).
She wrote on Twitter: “Big few days for @dancingonice big rehearsals, some amazing pro skater routines….just thought i would try and learn my @itvcorrie scripts while the pros do their thing…… left scripts at home (sic).”
Jane has previously revealed her 36-year-old co-star Samia Longchambon – who plays Maria Connor on the ITV soap – “encouraged” her to sign up for the show after appearing on the series back in 2013.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Jane – who is partnered on the show alongside Samia’s pro ice skater husband Sylvain Longchambon – said: “Samia is one of my best friends. She said, ‘It’s really hard, you’ll ache, you’ll be tired, but you’ve got to do it!’
“She really encouraged me to do it.
“So, because all my friends have done it, I thought, they’ve all been through the same process … and they’ve been really supportive and I think that helps.
“When people are really encouraging, it makes you think, ‘Maybe I can do this rather than being fearful of it.’ ”
Brian McFadden, Wes Nelson, Didi Conn, Richard Blackwood and Saara Aalto are also among the celebrities taking part on the show this year.

Sheridan Smith starting own production company

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheridan Smith is starting her own production company.
The 37-year-old actress has “lots of ideas going forward” and is looking forward to pursuing the plans she “really wants to do”.
Speaking to The i newspaper, she said: “I’m in the process of setting up my own production company.
“I’ve got a lot of ideas going forward. It’s just so empowering to go and take control a bit more. To try and do things I really want to do and try and be a bit more grown up nowadays.”
Although the ‘Mrs. Biggs’ star has been “out of the TV game” for a while, she is set to star in upcoming ITV drama ‘Cleaning Up’, and admitted that she feels the industry has changed in a positive way.
She explained: “I’ve been out of the TV game for a couple of years and the scripts that I’m booked to do in 2019.
“I can see that things are changing for the better in every way. There are more working class female-driven roles.”
Sheridan’s new series follows a mum battling a gambling addiction who works as a cleaner at a brokerage firm and attempts to clear her debts by selling insider trading tips.
And the ‘Gavin and Stacey’ actress loves the “working class-ness” of the show.
She said: “I loved the working class-ness of it. I used to know people who went to the bingo.
“These are the kind of people I would naturally be attracted to and want to be around so that’s what I enjoyed the most.”

Coronation Street writers plan for John Stape to be crazed killer

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ writers didn’t plan to turn John Stape into a crazed killer.
The evil former cobbles resident – who was played by Graeme Hawley – couldn’t help but bump people off in Weatherfield during the actor’s four-year stint on the soap, and former ‘Corrie’ scribe Damon Alexis-Rochefort has revealed the storyliners only turned him into a killer by “accident”.
He said: “I enjoyed the wackiness of the John Stape storyline too, which – unusually – we didn’t plan long term at the beginning but built month by month at story conference.
“He was a very different kind of serial killer, an ‘accidental’ serial killer if you like. All he wanted to do was teach, and he ended up in the most ridiculous situations where he ended up killing people by mistake.”
John has gone down in ‘Corrie’ history after he murdered Charlotte Hoyle (Becky Hindley) with a hammer, covered up Colin Fishwick’s (David Crellin) death from a heart attack before stealing his identity, and accidentally killed Colin’s mother Joy Fishwick (Doreen Mantle), all after holding Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) prisoner.
Damon penned more than 200 ‘Coronation Street’ episodes before departing the cobbles, and as well as writing the eulogy for Maggie Jones’ alter-ego Blanche Hunt, he was asked by Bill Roache (Ken Barlow) to write the eulogy for the late actress’ real funeral following her death aged 75 in 2009.
He added to Wales Online: “I always loved writing Blanche, she was one of my favourite characters, she could say all the things that no-one could say.
“And when Maggie Jones died I was very, very honoured to write the episode of her funeral. And then I was even more honoured when Bill Roache asked me to write the eulogy for her actual funeral, and I met a lot of her old friends from the theatre. Things like that are a great honour.
“Being able to write a eulogy for one of your favourite actresses and then have it read out by Bill Roache at Salford Cathedral is pretty amazing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Jonas says it was love at first sight when he met his wife Priyanka Chopra.
The 26-year-old star tied the knot with the 36-year-old actress in India last month and he has opened up about their whirlwind romance, admitting he knew she was ‘the one’ from their first date.
He told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “It was kind of an instant thing. I knew once we locked in together that I had a partner for life and a teammate, someone I could walk through the good times and the bad times with, and that was the key. I’m blushing now!”
The ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ actor added he is looking forward to the next chapter of his life as he starts his first year as a married man.
He said: “My life is very good right now, very excited, lots of good things coming up. It’s been a good year.”
His gushing comments come after new bride Priyanka said she feels honoured to be able to kiss her beau after he was crowned GQ’s Most Stylish Man of 2018.
Alongside a photograph of her kissing her husband’s cheek, the actress wrote: “Honoured to be kissing the most stylish man on the planet.. may the style Gods always shine down upon u my love #gqmoststylishman @nickjonas (sic)”
By contrast, Nick previously revealed she is still annoyed he didn’t try to kiss her on their first date.
Speaking ahead of their wedding day, Nick admitted the star remains upset that he didn’t try to smooch her during their first date at Priyanka’s home.
She recalled: “We hung out for a couple of hours … he patted my back before he left.”
Nick admitted: “There was no kiss. There was nothing.”
But Nick revealed he didn’t think a kiss was appropriate because Priyanka’s mother was in the house watching TV during their date.
He shared: “She’s still upset about that. Your mom was in the house! I thought it was a respectful first night.”
But Priyanka – who starred in the ‘Baywatch’ movie in 2017 – quipped: “It was too respectful if you ask me.”

Nikki Bella admits she’s ‘still in love’ with John Cena

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Bella admits she’s “still in love” with John Cena in a teaser for TV show ‘Total Bellas’.
In a trailer for the new fourth season of the reality show, the WWE Superstar admitted she still has feelings for the ‘Bumblebee’ actor after calling off their engagement in July 2018.
In the clip she tells twin sister Brie: “It’s confusing, because I’m still in love with him.”
The clip also shows Nikki going on some first dates, including one with ‘The Bachelorette’ star Peter Kraus.
Just before he leans in to lock lips, she admits: “I haven’t kissed another guy in nine years.”
The pair were actually set up on a blind date by Brie, but Nikki, 35, admitted at the time she was having second thoughts.
She previously said: “It feels like, you know, when you get married and the next day people are like, ‘When are you having kids?’ and it’s like, ‘I just got married.’
“I feel like it’s the same thing. When you become single, it’s like, ‘Oh, are you dating?!’ Honestly, I’m so not interested. I’m just not ready yet. I’m trying to heal, and I’m not healed yet.”
The latest trailer comes days after John, 41, referenced their break-up as he made his return to WWE television.
The star was back on ‘Smackdown Live’ on Tuesday night (01.01.19) and while he was talking in character, he joked about real-life events, including his break from wrestling and the end of his relationship with his former fiancée.
Addressing the crowd, he said: “Why am I here? I don’t yet have a reason!
“But the great thing about ‘Smackdown Live’ is that in 30 seconds, they’re gonna play somebody’s music, and some man’s gonna walk down here and try to tell me that I’m an old, broken down, part-time Hollywood wannabe that should just get a haircut and leave WWE faster than Nikki Bella left me.”
Former women’s champion Becky Lynch stepped into the ring to face Cena, and she also took aim at his break-up with a quip of her own.
She teased: “It’s time for someone new to step up, step in and fill your shoes, and there’s only one person for that job and I think these people would agree that that person is me.
“If you have a problem with that, Nikki Bella won’t be the only woman to drop you this year.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Casey Batchelor was classed as obese after she gave birth.
The 34-year-old television personality has admitted that although she thinks women should celebrate their post-baby bodies, she decided to take action about her weight following the birth of her daughter, eight-month-old Florence, as she was getting out of breath after just walking up the stairs.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’, she said: “I still agree with that celebrate your body, I was under no pressure, but obviously I’m only 5ft 2 and after having Florence I was still 12 stone, that’s classed for my height as obese. Just taking Florence upstairs I was out of breath, I was like OK this is more for health reasons now, I’ve got a baby girl I need to be healthy I need to start taking care of myself.
The ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star started to undergo yoga mixed with high-intensity interval training and drastically changed her diet to include 1200 calories a day.
She explained: “I really enjoy yoga, not just for physical reasons but for mental reasons. With the rusks now I’m like these rusks taste good! It’s like eight months, it just started falling off.
“I just go back to the old-fashioned of calories, about 1200 calories a day; you should lose about two to three pounds a week with that – 300 calories for breakfast, 400 for lunch and 500 for dinner. It’s portion control.”
Although the star has changed her lifestyle and now makes healthier lifestyle choices, she confessed to still occasionally indulging in calorific treats.
She said: “Don’t get me wrong there are days when you have the chocolate and the takeaway.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl’s dad agreed to pose naked for “art lessons” during a segment on ‘Michael McIntyre’s Big Show’.
The ‘Love Made Me Do It’ hitmaker is one of the comedian’s celebrity guests on the BBC One comedy show this Saturday (05.01.19), and she was left embarrassed during the ‘Send To All’ challenge – which involves a made-up text being sent to an celebrity’s contact list – when her dad, Garry Tweedy, replied to the message about being a naked art model for the star’s “homework”.
Reading out the text he wrote on the singer’s phone, Michael, 42, said: “Hi babe! I’m getting private art lessons and my homework this week is life drawing.
“Would you come round and pose naked for me?
“It’ll only take a few hours, we can have a good natter and don’t worry I’ll whack the heating up. If you’d rather we can position fruit and stuff in front of your naughty bits. Please say yes, need to know tonight!”
The brunette beauty replied: “Oh you actually wrote please say yes?”
Michael said: “You want a bit more matter of fact. Not so needy.”
Cheryl added: “Yes.”
Breaking into laughter, Michael joked: “Just for clarification, out of this whole text – you’ve just asked everyone in your phone to come round naked so you can draw them, but you don’t want to sound too needy?”
In a comical turn of events, the former Girls Aloud singer’s dad replied to the text confessing he’d only need a grape to cover his modesty because of how cold it is in Newcastle.
Reading out the message from Garry, Michael said: “It’s cold up here. I’ll only need a grape!”

Bob Einstein has died aged 76

OHMYGOSSIP — Bob Einstein has died at the age of 76.
The American comedy writer-turned-actor – who was best known for playing the hilarious character Marty Funkhouser on the HBO satirical series ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ – has passed away after being diagnosed with cancer, according to Deadline.
Einstein’s filmmaker brother, Albert Brooks, 71, posted on Twitter that he was a “brilliantly funny man” who will be “missed”.
Albert tweeted: “R.I.P. My dear brother Bob Einstein. A great brother, father and husband. A brilliantly funny man. You will be missed forever.”
The Emmy Award-winning comic has appeared in nearly two dozen episodes of the series dating from 2004 to 2017 and was scheduled to be part of the 10th series however, the star was prevented from filming because of his health, according to HBO.
Since the news of his passing tributes have flooded in from his former co-stars with Larry David – who created ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ – describing him as an “unforgettable” talent.
In a statement, David said: “It was an amazing, unforgettable experience knowing and working with him. There was no one like him, as he told us again and again. We’re all in a state of shock.”
Another ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ co-star Cheryl Hines, who plays Cheryl David on the show, added: “We lost a friend today. thanks for all of the laughs on Curb Your Enthusiasm. Our love to Bob’s family. #BobEinstein #SuperDave. The comedy world will miss you (sic).”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessie J is taking a break from social media.
The ‘Who You Are’ hitmaker has decided to spend some time away from the likes of Twitter and Instagram after “some unexpected heavy personal stuff”.
In a message posted to Twitter and Instagram, she shared: “Starting my new year with some unexpected heavy personal stuff has only made me want to be more present in my life. Spending more real time with people I love and some time with myself. When sadness hits, it’s important we embrace it, so it doesn’t define us. And it’s for sure surfaced some emotions and things I needed to work on with all my attention and love.
“I have to practice on myself what I talk about in stage and in my music too. In a good way. So I am taking a solid break from all social media for a while. Not forever but awhile. For now, anything posted will be work related by my team. I want to live in the moment as much as I can and not through my phone. I love you all. Happy new year. The year of LIVING THE best life for YOU. See you soon. (sic)”
It comes just days after Jessie revealed the tragic news that her bodyguard Dave had passed away.
Describing him as a “gentle giant”, she said: “I wrote this because I want everyone to remember the man you were. You were a gentle giant with a heart so big everyone felt it. I love you so much. We were supposed to meet for hot chocolate next week. I miss you. I will see you on the other side one day. Rest easy Dave, give your Dad a hug from me (sic)”

Lily Allen splits from boyfriend

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Allen is single again after splitting from MC Meridian Dan.
The ‘Smile’ hitmaker has ended her romance with the grime MC around three weeks ago and she is proud of how well she is handling it.
Speaking on Elizabeth Day’s How To Fail podcast, she said: “I’m single, for the first time since I was about 15. We’ve been broken up for about three weeks. It’s just been bad news after bad news after bad news and I think that fact that I haven’t called him and been like, ‘Hey, wanna come around for a cuddle?’ means that it’s big for me, because ordinarily, when things get difficult, I do need to have somebody around to share those problems. So the fact that I’m dealing with it all on my own, I’m growing up.”
Dan also reflected on the past year on his Instagram page, admitting 2018 wasn’t his “best” year.
He wrote: “By the end of these 12 months I plan to be chilling somewhere hot with both feet up looking back at my most successful year yet … Like many 2018 wasn’t my best one but towards the end of it i stopped trying and started sowing a few seeds that are going to come to life later this year … New friends, business partners and collaborators; Nice of you to join the team – Organic Always … Old and long standing ones … Still got love for ya and thanks for riding with me even though I’m a difficult dude to work out sometimes. Blac Chyna to buy ex Rob Kardashian a new TV

OHMYGOSSIP — Blac Chyna has agreed to reimburse the cost of Rob Kardashian’s television after she allegedly damaged it over two years ago.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star has claimed his former partner – with whom he shares two-year-old daughter Dream – “consumed a significant amount of drugs and alcohol” before damaging his television, the walls, breaking down a door and destroying his phone in an incident on December 14, 2016. He also claimed she ruined a gingerbread house, which had been made for the upcoming festive celebrations.
Court documents, obtained by The Blast, say that Chyna is planning to fight back against some of the allegations but will pay for a replacement television.
It reads: “Chyna will present evidence that the damaged gingerbread house was a gift to her from Kris Jenner and that Rob consented to the damage done to his t-shirt. Regarding the television set, Chyna has informed them … that she will reimburse Rob for the cost to replace the television. She will generously value Rob’s t-shirt at $250.”
Rob also alleges he was injured in the altercation, but Chyna insists there was no damage to his face in a video posted online a couple of days later.
The documents added: “A selfie video of Rob that he posted on Snapchat within one to two days shows no marks, cuts, or bruises on his face. Without injury, Rob cannot claim general damages for pain and suffering. He has no medical expenses or loss of earnings and claims no future medical expenses or loss of future earning capacity.”
She also insists that her actions were “caused and necessitated by the actions of Plaintiffs, and was reasonable and necessary for Defendant’s self-defence and defence of others”.

Idris Elba is ‘cool dad’ after Coachella booking

OHMYGOSSIP — Idris Elba is finally a “cool dad” after booking a slot at Coachella.
The ‘Luther’ star – who is also a DJ – has impressed his daughter Isan, 17, by being given the green light to perform a set at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April.
She said: “It was a cool dad moment. I was looking at the list and saw Virgil Abloh, because I love Off-White, and right under him I saw Idris Elba. I was in my bed and he was sleeping, so I couldn’t even say congratulations. I was like, ‘What?!’ I had no idea.”
And now, Isan is hoping this will be a great excuse for her to go to the annual festival.
She added to Entertainment Tonight: “Coachella is so huge. I’ve never been and I want to go. Hopefully, he lets me come because I have to miss school, but [we’ll see].”
It comes after Isan admitted she was left feeling “awkward” after her father was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive earlier this month.
She said: “Actually, I was on Instagram. PEOPLE said, ‘Oh, we’re announcing the Sexiest Man Alive,’ and I was like, ‘Oh yes, can’t wait.’ I wake up in the morning and it’s my dad. I was like, ‘This is not what I was expecting. This is not very fun.’ … When I called him the day after, not even about it, he was like, ‘Do you have anything to say to me?’ And I said, ‘No, I don’t think so.’ Then he said, ‘I’m the Sexiest Man Alive.’ I was like, ‘Oh, yeah. That. That thing. Uh, okay, cool. You’re welcome.'”

The 40-year-old star has claimed she ended her relationship with Netflix film director Wayne Lennox after finding out he had fathered three children with three different women and not two kids by two different women as she had been led to believe.
She wrote on Instagram: “So having spoken to loads of ex girlfriends now, on email, over messenger and over the phone I have just found out that my ex had not two kids by two different women but THREE kids by THREE different women. The whole relationship he hid his third kid from me. Wtf?! My mind is blown. I may have been an easy target and I may have believed his lies for a short while but I am SO happy to have gotten out when I did. I had my eyes opened on NYE as to who he really was and I’m now finding out the extent of his lies. (sic)”
And in a separate post, Jodie claimed she had heard from six of his ex-girlfriends who said they had been told the same story.
She added: “Oh wow!!! The emails are pouring in thick and fast about my ex. I’ve had 6 ex girlfriends email me already – ALL with the same story!! And they’re all lovely girls! Jesus what is it with these men?! I’m so happy I got out so quickly and spotted the signs early on. Thank God for all your support too. No one deserves this and I’m just so happy to have gotten out. I hate that these other poor girls have been through this but we all live and learn!! Onwards and upwards. 2019 is going to be GREAT!!!!!!!! It’s going to be full of love, laughter, happiness and success. I’m so grateful to my amazing friends and family for all their help and support and being here constantly in this scary time!! X x x x x x x x x x x x x x x. (sic)”
