Final Destination movies were ‘too expensive’ to consider another sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Final Destination 6’ would be too expensive to make.
It’s been more than seven years since the fifth instalment in the horror franchise – which starred the likes of Ali Larter and Tony Todd – and now Todd has opened up on the possibility of another film in the series.
He told Bloody Disgusting: “I am [surprised] but I know why there hasn’t been [another sequel]. It’s really an expensive film to shoot. Just getting whatever accident set pieces, like for example part two with the whole traffic accident, that took a good five weeks to shoot and at least 20 million bucks.
“So there are other films like the Annabelle films which just focused on a doll that they can shoot for a lot cheaper and still make money.”
Todd starred as mortician William Bludworth in the first, second, and final movies in the series, with each movie showing several teens on the run after cheating Death – which caught up with them in increasingly brutal and ridiculous ways.
While the first film opened with a plane crash, the sequel started with a multi-car motorway pile-up, with the third instalment taking things to a theme park with a fatal rollercoaster ride.
For the ‘The Final Destination’ – which was actually the fourth movie – it was an accident at the McKinley Speedway.
‘Final Destination 5’ – which opened with a bridge collapse – grossed $157.9 million worldwide and received the best reviews of the series, and while there might be hope for a sequel, Todd doesn’t think it’s likely.
He added: “I’m pretty sure that ship has sailed but who knows? You never know. It was a good one while we had it.”

Richard Schiff teases West Wing return

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Schiff has confirmed ‘The West Wing’ could be returning to TV.
The 63-year-old actor – who portrayed White House Director of Communications Toby Ziegler in the political drama – admitted he has been speaking with show creator Aaron Sorkin about the possibility of rebooting the programme.
However, Richard doesn’t think he or any of his former castmates, such as Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford or Joshua Malina, would be able to return to the show on a permanent basis, though he thinks there’s an option for them to make cameo appearances.
Speaking on the Popcorn Talk Network’s ‘I Could Never Be’, Richard said: “Aaron has said he wanted it to happen.
“[He] might go with a new administration, in which case, you know, some of us might show up as consultants…it makes no sense, maybe one or two of us to be in the White House.”
But Richard has his own ideas of what could happen in a new series of ‘The West Wing’ and claimed Aaron “loved” his suggestions.
He said: “I’ve pitched it to Aaron. He loved it. I don’t think it should be in the White House. I think that’s overcooked. My image of a show in the White House now is something like ‘House of Cards’, which is more apropos for the current administration — and ‘Veep’.
“You know, you combine ‘Veep’ and ‘House of Cards’ and you got, you got this administration. It’s a great idea…Where does politics really happen? And that’s the question. And especially in this era where there’s such an excitement in the grassroots level and on the local level, and, and it really all happens in the state level.”
‘The West Wing’ originally ran for seven seasons from 1999 to 2006.

Robbie Williams using colouring to help quit smoking

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams has swapped cigarettes for crayons.
The ‘Angels’ hitmaker is determined to quit his nicotine habit and has found colouring in pre-drawn pictures is helping to relieve his cravings because it gives him something to focus on other than how much he’s missing smoking.
Speaking in an Instagram Live video, he said: “I’m just doing some colouring in, which is good because I’ve got something to concentrate on.
“Art is good for my mind.”
Robbie – who has children Teddy, six, Charlton, four, and Coco, four months, with wife Ayda Field – is finding quitting the deadly habit very difficult and has been experiencing panic attacks as a result.
He added: “Anyone who is giving up smoking with me, keep on. The struggle is real. I’ve been all right all week, it’s been sort of six out of ten difficult and then in the last hour and a half I’ve just collapsed, panic attacks, over- whelmed . . . I’ve had to get out of the house just to calm down a little.”
The 44-year-old pop star initially gave up smoking when Teddy was born but returned to his 40-a-day habit in 2016.
However, last year, the ‘X Factor’ judge pledged to making quitting for good his New Year’s resolution because he wants to be around when his children grows up, though he’s worried about the side effects of giving up.
He said: “On January 1 I’m going to stop smoking, does anyone want to join me?
“But I’m really scared about putting weight on. I’m terrified in fact about that, but staying alive for my children will be worth the weight gain . . . he said, lying to himself.”

Sue Nicholls rescues stranger’s shopping experience

OHMYGOSSIP — Sue Nicholls rescued a hapless shopper after he was left without £1 to put into his supermarket trolley.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who has played Audrey Roberts since 1979 – went from Weatherfield wonder woman to real-life legend when she saved a stranger’s Sainsbury’s shopping experience on the weekend, by producing a precious £1 coin for him to pop into one of the store’s wheeled carriages so he could transport his goods.
After feeling down on his luck when he checked his pockets only to realise he hadn’t brought a pound to trigger the trolley’s release, the man, who goes by the name Taz on social media site Twitter, couldn’t quite believe it when he turned around to see supportive Sue brandishing a shiny £1 for him to use.
He tweeted: “The only time that I don’t have a £1 coin to use for the trolleys at Sainsbury’s and all people to ask is, flaming Audrey Roberts from Coronation Street (sic)”
Thankful Taz also shared a selfie alongside smiley Sue, who had a huge grin on her face, appearing delighted to have helped a guy in need.
While Sue had an additional £1 to give the guy, her alter-ego Audrey is in a state of financial distress over on the cobbles after the hair salon owner recently had her £80,000 savings shockingly stolen.
Despite her latest financial failure, Audrey can rest easy in the knowledge that she will not require any pound coins for trolleys if she does her shopping at local Weatherfield newsagents The Kabin, owned by Norris Cole (Malcolm Hebden), who acquired the shop from Rita Sullivan (Barbara Knox) in 2009.
Audrey once played a huge part in ensuring Rita kept hold of the corner shop after her fellow cobbles stalwart decided to sell up after being blackmailed by Cilla Battersby-Brown (Wendi Peters).
Rita was all set to offload the store in 2004, but her good pal Audrey convinced her to keep hold of the business.

Jennifer Lopez still ‘a girl from the Bronx’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez is still “just a girl from the Bronx”.
The 49-year-old singer-and-actress may have an estimated net worth of $380 million but she still feels attached to her humble beginnings and will never let go of her roots.
She said: “It’s like if you’re from Italy. Just because you don’t live in Italy any more, you’re still Italian.
“It’s the same thing for me, being from the Bronx. Even though I’ve travelled the world and I live in Los Angeles now, I’m still just a girl from the Bronx.”
The ‘Shades of Blue’ star – who has twins Emme and Max, 10, with ex-husband Marc Anthony – may have years of success behind her but it’s only in recent times she’s developed her confidence and feels secure in her talent.
She told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “I feel like I have only just got comfortable and am finally confident in who I am and what I do.
“I really wish I would have found this confidence in my early thirties, but it took me a long time to get there.
“I’m still a work in progress, by the way. But I do now feel that this is not a mistake, it’s not a fluke – this is what I do and I’m good at it.”
Jennifer has been dating retired baseball ace Alex Rodriguez, 43, for almost two years and though they are smitten with one another, she doesn’t think their relationship would have worked out if they had met at another time in their lives.
She said: “He has said it was too crazy and I didn’t know him back then, so I am going to take his word for it.
“And I needed to bounce around a little bit and figure myself out.
“I wasn’t ready for the healthiest things because I needed to figure out how to be healthy first – have self worth, value, deal with my insecurities.”

Barbara WIndsor experiencing ‘really bad’ confusion

OHMYGOSSIP — Barbara Windsor’s husband Scott Mitchell says her confusion is “really bad” and she has “instant forgetfulness”.
The 81-year-old actress is battling Alzheimer’s disease, a form of Dementia, which leads to heart-breaking moments where she forgets who he is at times, and she also doesn’t recognise her own house.
Speaking about her recent trip out to the theatre, he said: “She gets herself together for moments like that. When we go there something happens to Barbara when she’s out. It’s like her old self comes out.
“That’s not the reality. Our reality is, for instance the last few weeks, her confusion is really bad … I spend a lot of time explaining where we are.
“She has a lot of trouble identifying our house. She will say, ‘Are we staying here tonight? Have we got clothes here? That’s the reality of what people living with dementia are going through.
“I have a board where there’s pictures of us from the beginning. She will suddenly say to me, ‘How long have we been together.’ I say, ’25 years.’
“It’s now quite instant, the forgetfulness is quite instant.”
Scott went through a particularly tough moment recently when he was helping the former ‘Carry On’ star out of the bath and she forgot who he was.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he added: “I think it’s when every memory will go. When, on a constant basis, maybe one day Barbara won’t know who I am.
“I’ve had it twice. I was helping her out of the bath and she suddenly looked at me very scared and said, ‘Sorry, who are you?’. There are no words that can describe it.”
Scott previously admitted his “big fear” after the actress’ diagnosis was his wife forgetting who he was.
He said: “When Barbara first got this diagnosis my big fear was always, ‘What if one day she looks at me and doesn’t know who I am?’

Michael Parr moving to LA to write a sitcom

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Parr is writing a sitcom.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ actor revealed on Twitter that since leaving the soap he has started writing his own comedy show, and the 32-year-old star will be moving to Los Angeles in the next two weeks.
Replying to a tweet from screenwriters Scott Beck and Bryan Woods – in which the pair revealed they wrote more than 30 plays before one was sold – Michael said: “What was the hardest part? The ideas? Dedicating the hours? Getting it in front of ppl? Convincing ppl of your vision? (sic)”
The screenwriting duo replied: “Those are all constant challenges, but committing the time to be a better writer by writing/reading/studying makes the “getting it in front of ppl” and “convincing ppl of vision” so much easier. Because the work must speak for itself. (sic)”
Michael responded: “Thanks guys. I’m in the middle of writing a sitcom and am moving to LA in two weeks. Are there any classes you would recommend? X (sic)”
The ‘Emmerdale’ star left his role on the ITV soap in autumn last year, with the actor – who played Ross Barton on the show – keen to “pursue other acting opportunities”.
But in November, Michael admitted he was “bored” after being unemployed for two months following his Dales departure.
He tweeted: “I know there are many factors for why ppl don’t/can’t work but in my experience of not having a job which has almost lasted two months now…. it is boring. So boring. There’s just naff all to do! (sic)”
His former cast mate Samantha Giles (Bernice Blackstock) was quick to reply with words of support as she told him to “hold his nerve”, adding that “something good will come up”.

Susanna Reid promises to present GMB drunk show wins NTA

OHMYGOSSIP — Susanna Reid has promised to present ‘Good Morning Britain’ drunk if the show wins a National Television Award later this month.
The 48-year-old TV presenter – who has been alcohol-free for six months in a bid to lose weight – says she will get “absolutely hammered” if her and co-host Piers Morgan successfully take home the gong for Best Daytime Show.
Discussing the nomination with Piers, Susanna said: “That night, if we win, I will drink.”
Piers replied: “This is great, if you vote for us, and we win, Susanna Reid will break her alcohol-free [diet] – which has now been going on for about six months.
“And trust me, when she is drunk she is a live one.”
She said: “I will get absolutely hammered.”
Piers then asked: “Will you come here and present the show drunk?”
When Susanna answered with a definitive yes, Piers cheered and applauded the comment.
He declared: “Susanna Reid will come in her evening attire, fresh from the NTA after-party, if we win, and present the show drunk.
“I am normally half-drunk anyway so it makes no difference to me but she doesn’t drink.”
Susanna added: “I will be 99 per cent alcohol.”
The ‘Life Stories’ host earlier threatened viewers that he will strip naked and dance on the show if the ITV news and talk show loses in the category.
He said: “I will wear my birthday suit, in all its glory, if we lose.
“I will strip naked and do a conga only if we lose.”
But he then cut himself short, and quipped: “I’m not going to say that because we will lose.”
The nominees for the National Television Awards 2019 were announced yesterday (07.01.19) and ‘Good Morning Britain’ are up for Best Daytime Show alongside ‘Loose Women’, ‘Sunday Brunch’, ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ and ‘This Morning’.
The NTAs will take place on 22 January at London’s O2 Arena.

Kerry Katona would ‘do anything’ to be part of Loose Women tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona would “do anything” to be part of the ‘Loose Women’ tour.
The 38-year-old TV personality would love to be a panellist when the ITV panel show take their programme on the road to mark their 20th anniversary, and the former Atomic Kitten member quipped it would give her a “break from the kids” to appear alongside Janet Street-Porter and Andrea McLean, who are reportedly set to be regular faces on the tour.
In her column for new! magazine, she wrote: “The ‘Loose Women’ ladies are taking to the road on a nationwide tour – I’d do anything to be involved! For starters, it would give me a break from the kids – joke!”
The reality star went on to explain how she was once a regular on the talk show, and even won an award for her fiery performance on the programme, so the star urged the existing presenters to “call her”.
She said: “But also, I was one of the panellists back in the beginning and whenever they ask me to go on I jump at the chance.
“I actually won an award back in the day for being the most fiery panellist.
“With everything I’ve been through in the last few years, I reckon I’d be a great addition to the team. Call me, girls!”
The studio-based programme will head to theatres across the UK in a show entitled ‘An Evening With Loose Women’.

Capital FM launch search for new Love Island contestant

OHMYGOSSIP — Capital FM have launched a search for a new ‘Love Island’ contestant.
The music station has unveiled a new way fans can try to get onto the popular ITV2 summer series, which will air later this year, by telling their 1.05 million Twitter followers to tune into the station and let them know them why you could be the “ultimate” islander, for a chance to appear on the show.
They tweeted: “We’re searching for the ULTIMATE Love Islander. If you wanna be on the next series of #LoveIsland, tell us why you’ll be the best Islander. http://capitalfm.co/ListenNow (sic)”
ITV previously confirmed ‘Love Island’ will return next year – after the final broke a ratings record for ITV2.
The popular show has been recommissioned for a fifth series after an audience of 3.6 million viewers, peaking at 4.1 million, tuned in to see Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham triumph during the series.
In the final, the couple defeated second placed Laura Anderson and Paul Knops, third placed Josh Denzel and Kaz Crossley, and fourth placed Megan Barton Hanson and Wes Nelson in the final to take home the £50,000 prize money.
Paul Mortimer, ITV’s head of digital channels and acquisitions said: “‘Love Island’ was once again the must-see show of the summer.
“At ITV2, we were thrilled with the level of younger viewer engagement to the extent that it broke all our previous audience records and is now firmly established as the biggest ever series in the multi-channel space. Calvin Harris teases Rag’n’Bone Man collaboration Giant

OHMYGOSSIP — Calvin Harris is set to release the single ‘Giant’ with Rag’n’Bone Man on January 11.
The chart-topping Scottish DJ – who had two number ones with ‘Promises’ featuring Sam Smith and ‘Checklist’ with Normani and WizKid in 2018 – took to his social media profiles to tease the new track with the ‘Human’ hitmaker on Monday (07.01.19).
Alongside a link to pre-save the song, he wrote: “CALVIN HARRIS // RAG N BONE MAN coming Friday!!! Presave here: (sic)”
Rag’n’Bone Man – whose real name is Rory Graham – retweeted Calvin’s post and added the staring-eyes emoji.
The ‘Outside’ producer also shared a clip of the soulful number on Instagram, which sees Rory belt out: “I understood loneliness/ Before I knew what it was/ Saw the feels on the table/ For the you lonely cries loved/ I would be nothing.”
‘Giant’ will follow last year’s ‘I Found You’ with Benny Blanco for Calvin.
Whilst Rag’n’Bone Man’s last release was the single ‘Photographs’ with rapper Professor Green.
Meanwhile, Calvin recently slammed the current EDM scene as being full of “sad slow songs”.
The 34-year-old star insisted he has no plans to return to his Electronic Dance Music roots, because he believes the current records in the genre are dreary and nothing like the upbeat music he used to make.
Responding to a fan on Twitter who asked if he would ever go back to the scene, the ‘One Kiss’ hitmaker said: “EDM has been sad, slow songs for years now. Doesn’t have anything in common with the music I love to make. 2010-2014 edm was more house influenced to me. Anyway now I’m out the bubble and making big records with amazing singers that sound like house music to me… (sic)”
The ‘Summer’ musician also revealed that he has no plans to release a full-length house music album anytime soon, and isn’t planning to return to the live-band format of his early career.
When one fan asked if he’s would perform live music again, and if he was influenced by LCD Soundsystem, he said: “No way I’m 34 now
“Yes basically was trying to be like LCD and Mylo ended up worse than both but I improved with time (sic)”
And asked if there’s a full-length album on the way, he said: “I’d say it’s unlikely, I have a very short attention span nowadays.”

Rare David Bowie demos set for vinyl release

OHMYGOSSIP — David Bowie’s earliest known versions of ‘Space Oddity’ will be released for the song’s 50th anniversary.
The timeless 1969 track – which was included on the late rock icon’s self titled second album – will be celebrated as part of the upcoming ‘Spying Through A Keyhole’ collection.
The 7″ vinyl box set has been announced by Parlophone, and it will feature nine demos including two of the earliest known recordings of the popular tune.
In notes given by the label for the ‘demo except’, it says: “The lyric and arrangement variations lend weight to the theory that this is possibly the first ever recorded demo of one of Bowie’s most famous songs.”
The collection – which has been announced almost three years to the day after Bowie’s sad death on January 10, 2016 aged 69 following a secret battle with cancer – will also include a take with alternate lyrics as a collaboration with John ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson.
The label explains: “Originally conceived as a song for a duo to perform, this is the first known version to feature John ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson again with lyric and arrangement variations.”
Also set for the collection are two demo versions of ‘Angel, Angel, Grubby Face’, and an early take on ‘London Bye, Ta-Ta’ with “completely different” verse lyrics compared to the full band recordings.
Demos of ‘Mother Grey’, ‘Goodbye 3d (Threepenny) Joe’, ‘Love All Around’ and ‘In The Heat Of the Morning’ round off the track-listing.
Most of the recordings are said to be solo vocal and acoustic home demos.
‘Spying Through A Keyhole’ is expected to be released later this spring, although a firm date is yet to be confirmed.

Nicola Mclean won’t ‘push’ kids to go to university

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola McLean doesn’t want to “push” her kids to go to university.
The 37-year-old former glamour model has two sons, Rocky, 12, and Striker, eight, with footballer husband, Tom Williams, and the blonde beauty has revealed she wants her kids to do “whatever they want” as a career and she won’t force them to go into higher education if they don’t want too.
Appearing as a panellist on Channel 5 TV show ‘Jeremy Vine’, she revealed: “I want them to do whatever they want to do, but I certainly don’t have any push or anything. My eldest is quite good at school but he doesn’t necessarily push himself that far and I’m like, ‘It’s up to you, it’s your life.’ ”
Nicola began her modelling career as a Page Three girl posing topless in the pages of The Sun and Daily Star newspapers and then going on to become a men’s magazine regular.
The blonde beauty then launched a successful TV career with appearances on reality shows such as ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’, ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and WAGS’ World… With Nicola McLean’.
Nicola went straight into work and never went to university herself and she doesn’t think she would have coped with student life due to her struggle with anxiety.
She said: “I like controlled environments, so uni for me would have been a headache and also I’m not smart. I could do a degree in life but I couldn’t do a degree in English or anything like that. I wouldn’t have enjoyed the lifestyle. My anxiety wouldn’t have allowed me to go to university, I need controlled situations.”

Shirley Ballas has a new man in her life

OHMYGOSSIP — Shirley Ballas is dating again and says she’s met someone “nice”.
The 58-year-old professional dancer admitted while appearing on ‘Lorraine’ that she had a new man in her life, and the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge confessed her son helped her to build up her confidence to get back in the dating game.
When host Lorraine Kelly asked if she was currently seeing someone, she remained coy but said: “Yes, I have met somebody nice.”
Shirley went on to explain that her son wants her to have a good relationship “over the age of 50”.
She said: “My son and his wife bought them for me for Christmas, they represent freedom. The butterflies that can fly in and out and land in different gardens.
“He [her son] is wishing for me to have a good relationship over the age of 50. He’s encouraging me to go out and date and out a little bit more on the scene.”
The ‘Strictly’ star has also started a new role, playing matchmaker on ITV’s new ‘This Morning’ segment, ‘Matchmaker Mountain’, where she will be helping a group of over 50s find love.
Speaking about the new role, she said: “I think generally women over 50 get into a routine.
“They have had their family; they have had their children, so they don’t want to go outside the box.
“This programme encourages people … there is life over 50.
“Get up, go out, get out of that routine! There are some special people out there, there really are.
“That whole show opened my eyes and let down the barriers and then things come from that … I feel blessed.”

Emmerdale’s Samantha Giles is ‘proud of her lines’

OHMYGOSSIP — Samantha Giles has encouraged fans to be “proud” of their natural looks after her ‘Emmerdale’ character was hospitalised following a Botox disaster.
The 47-year-old actress’ alter-ego Bernice Blackstock suffered an allergic reaction to internet-bought Botox injections after being pressured to have them before her 50th birthday by troublesome teen Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger).
But the star took to Twitter to thank viewers for tuning in, and posted an unfiltered selfie to show she doesn’t have any facial paralysis in real life.
On Thursday night (03.01.19), Samantha wrote: “Thanks for watching this story folks- as you can see no paralysis and #nofilter be proud of your lines! (sic)”
Bernice went into anaphylactic shock after her colleague, Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), administered the injections into her forehead.
Her loved ones were told that she may suffer from permanent facial paralysis, however after being in hospital, doctors said she will make a full recovery.
‘Emmerdale’ fans took to social media to congratulate Samantha on raising awareness of such a current issue about the dangers of buying unlicensed non-surgical products and administering them without a medical qualification.
One user wrote: “A great storyline and a fantastic job by you Sam. Definitely thought provoking and hopefully it will make more people think about the risks. (sic)”
Another said: “Be yourself and be proud of you for who you are is much better (sic)”

Serena Williams to front campaign for Bumble dating app

OHMYGOSSIP — Serena Williams is “standing up for women” as she joins Bumble for a year-long marketing campaign.
The 37-year-old American tennis legend – who has 16-month-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. with her husband Alexis Ohanian – has become a global advisor for the dating app, which requires ladies to send the first message to potential romantic partners.
Serena will feature in their upcoming ad campaign entitled The Ball is in Her Court, which is to launch during the Super Bowl NFL final on February 3.
In a statement, she said: “In my life, I can confidently say that I would not be where I am today had I let the fear of making the first move hold me back. Like (Bumble founder) Whitney Wolfe Herd, I am a firm believer in striving to achieve greatness, as every single one of us holds the power to write our own stories. I look at my daughter and know it is my duty to pave a powerful path for her, and, as Bumble’s Global Advisor, I can encourage her and women everywhere to think like a champion, define their lives and ultimately, embrace the power we have within.”
Revealing why Serena has been chosen as an ambassador for Bumble, Whitney said: “Partnering with Serena Williams has been a dream of mine since we launched Bumble, as she is one of the most inspiring women in history and a shining example of someone making the first move in all facets of her life. She is a role model, a mom, an entrepreneur and a fierce athlete. She is the epitome of strength, integrity, kindness, empowerment and everything Bumble stands for.”
The app – which claims to attract 47 million users worldwide – also offers a Bumble Bizz app for job offers and business networking, where, like the dating version, the women make the first move.
Last year, Priyanka Chopra announced her partnership with the mobile app as it takes new steps to expand into her native country of India.
The app claims it is responsible for 5,000 weddings and engagements and boasts a range of celebrity users like Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing and Celebrity Big Brother’s Chad Johnson.
