Ric Flair to return to RAW to honour ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund

OHMYGOSSIP — Ric Flair is to return to ‘WWE Raw’ to celebrate the life of ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund.
The 69-year-old former wrestler is set to come face to face with his former rival Hulk Hogan when he returns to the show to honour Okerlund, who passed away on Wednesday (02.01.19).
Flair and Okerlund were famous amongst fans of WCW for their weekly “Mean…Wooo! By God… Gene” moments whilst Okerlund conducted one of Flair’s most famous interviews after he won the Royal Rumble and WWE Championships in 1992.
It comes after it was revealed Hulk Hogan will return to Raw to celebrate the life of Okerlund. It will be the 65-year-old star’s appearance on ‘Raw’ since he was suspended by WWE in 2015 after using a series of racial slurs in a recorded conversation.
The iconic duo were close friends for decades and Okerlund’s backstage interviews and on-screen chemistry with Hogan helped to establish him as a global wrestling star.
Okerlund – who died aged 76 – passed away one year after he was last seen on TV.
In a statement, WWE said: “WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer Gene Okerlund, the most recognisable interviewer in sports-entertainment history, has passed away at age 76.”
He first joined WWE in 1984 and became a staple of its TV programming through his entertaining skits with the likes of Hogan, ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior.
Okerlund played a huge part in the company’s expansion around the world when Vince McMahon signed him up after his time in the American Wrestling Alliance, and he went on to host shows like ‘Tuesday Night Titans’, ‘Wrestling Challenge’ and ‘Prime Time Wrestling’.

Jim Carrey dating Ginger Gonzaga

OHMYGOSSIP — Jim Carrey is dating Ginger Gonzaga.
The 56-year-old actor stepped out with his ‘Kidding’ co-star at the Showtime Golden Globes Nominees Celebration in West Hollywood on Saturday (05.01.19).
A representative for the actor has confirmed the couple are dating.
It comes a couple of months after Jim admitted he lives an “isolated” life.
He said: “You could describe my home life as an isolated life. I spend a lot of time by myself but I like being by myself, so it’s OK. That might be strange to some people, but I enjoy it.”
And Jim previously insisted he isn’t bothered about what people will think of him when he dies.
Asked what he wants to be remembered for, he said: “I’m free of the business. I’m not the business. I don’t care what people think of me after I die. All I want is for people to think of me as a good energy here, a nice fragrance that has been left behind … What’s happening is really good, but there is some really bad in there too. Some people have come at me in the last couple of years with the intent of breaking off a piece of the Holy Grail for themselves, but the Grail isn’t a thing that you can break off. So they’re going to learn that the hard way. It’s not pleasant.”
Jim’s relationship with Ginger is his first public relationship since the death of his ex-girlfriend Cathriona White, who passed away in 2015.
At the time of her death, he said: “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona. She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.”

Saoirse Ronan warned about Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — Saoirse Ronan was “warned” she would find it hard to get acting jobs when she turned 18.
The ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ star – who found fame as a child – was told it would be trickier to find movies to star in as she got older because there is no “interesting” roles out there for young women.
She told Deadline: “For me I think it was a slightly different thing because I started when I was young, so there wasn’t that pressure. But one of the things that I did experience during my teenage years, and every female warned me, ‘When you get to about 18, the roles just stop and nothing comes in and there will be nothing interesting out there.’ And they were right.
“I definitely had a few years where I just didn’t work, really. I did little things, which was great. Or I took smaller parts, which I absolutely loved, and was so happy to do them. But, I made the decision to basically not work at all instead of taking something on that I didn’t believe in. Having said that, I was very lucky that I could do that because I was a kid and didn’t have bills to pay, or kids to look after, or any of that sort of stuff. But that was definitely something I experienced.”
Meanwhile, Saoirse recently spoke of her pride at being part of a female revolution in Hollywood as a result of the Time’s Up movement.
She said: “There is a female revolution going on right now. We’re just at a point where you can’t escape and we have to do something about it, on both sides – men and women. I can see in our industry that so many women have come together to actively pursue civil rights and create a safer and fairer environment. We’ve gone from saying, ‘Yes, we really need to make a change and we’ve all got to stick together’ to, ‘Oh f**k, we really need to make a change.’ Now more than ever, feminism is at the core of my life.”

Brie Larson is diligent secret-keeper

OHMYGOSSIP — Brie Larson learned to be a “diligent secret-keeper” when working on ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
The 29-year-old actress – who plays Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, in the superhero franchise – says she had to mentally “delete” the plot line of the movie to avoid spoiling it for the fans and even refused to tell her family.
She told USA Today: “I just never wanted to feel like I was going to slip up or that I was going to say the wrong thing. I was like, ‘I can’t live with myself being the one that spoils something.’ So I really just deleted it. I tried my best to journal it if I want to recall it and go, ‘Oh yeah, that was a crazy time.’ And I’m excited when the movie comes out to finally be able to talk about it and go, ‘Yes, this was crazy.’ But my family doesn’t know. I haven’t talked to anybody about anything because I’m just a very diligent secret-keeper.”
Meanwhile, Brie previously revealed she did “nine months” of training for ‘Captain Marvel’.
She shared: “I did nine months of just training, training, and three months of stunt training with the stunt team where we spent two hours every day, five days a week. It wasn’t until we started shooting and I started doing all my own wirework, stunts and flips and stuff that people were like, ‘You know, nobody… now we’ll tell you; nobody actually does this.’ I was like, ‘Huh.’ But I love it. It definitely makes things more complicated in certain ways because I can be taking a lot more naps than I am.”

Bethenny Frankel happy with her boyfriend

OHMYGOSSIP — Bethenny Frankel looked “very happy” as she celebrated the New Year in Mexico with her boyfriend.
The ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ star enjoyed a holiday with film producer Paul Bernon, his kids and her eight-year-old daughter Bryn on the Playa del Carmen in Mexico to ring in 2019.
A source told People magazine: “She seemed to be very happy, hanging out with her boyfriend and some friends. The kids were always out and about running around having fun, while Bethenny spent a lot of time hanging out on the beach, talking a lot and holding court with her group. She used the outdoor jacuzzi, spa steam room, and at one point, she and her boyfriend went for a walk and held hands. They seemed happy.”
Bethenny has had a tough 2018 after the passing of her on-off boyfriend Dennis Shields.
Admitting she was finding it “hard to breathe” following his death, she wrote on Twitter at the time: “It’s hard to breathe & I appreciate you giving me the space & support to try to do so. It’s excruciating-sudden death is no closure & constant ?s & memories. Our relationship is current so it’s painfully raw. Trying to stay healthy & move through it w tears & close friends. Xo (sic)”
A source added: “She is devastated. She loved him. He was her family and [her eight-year-old daughter] Bryn’s family. Bryn loved him. Dennis was Bethenny’s partner, her family, her business partner and her best friend. He helped her with things – emotionally and professionally, and he was her confidante. No question that she did love this guy.”

Reese Witherspoon fighting for change in 2019

OHMYGOSSIP — Reese Witherspoon will continue to “celebrate risk takers” who “fight for change” in 2019 and beyond.
The ‘Big Little Lies’ star spoke of her pride at what Hollywood has achieved in the last 12 months with the Time’s Up movement, which was launched at the start of 2018 to raise awareness of sexual harassment in the industry and wider world.
Alongside a number of photographs from last year’s Golden Globes ceremony, she wrote on Instagram: “I will forever remember last year’s #GoldenGlobes, when we stood together in solidarity to fight for equality, parity, safety and inclusion. Good luck to all the nominees tonight! And may we continue to celebrate risk takers in our industry and beyond, who challenge status quo and fight for change! #TIMESUP (sic)”
Reese and a number of other Hollywood stars famously wore black on the red carpet at the Golden Globes in 2018.
The 42-year-old actress had previously revealed she was sexually assaulted by a film director at the age of 16 and admits it was hard to talk about it at first but she hopes telling the truth will help her “heal” her wounds.
She said: “I have just spoken to so many actresses and writers, particularly women, who have had similar experiences and many of them have bravely gone public with their stories. That truth is very encouraging to me and everyone out there in the world because you can only heal by telling the truth …
“I feel really, really encouraged that there will be a new normal. For the young women in this room, life is going to be different because we’re with you, we have your back and it makes me feel better. It makes me so sad to talk about these issues, but I would be remiss not to.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlize Theron thinks parenthood is “incredible but messy”.
The ‘Atomic Blonde’ star – who has son Jackson and daughter August – understands the “pressure” mothers can be under and is glad her latest movie ‘Tully’, in which she plays a stressed out mother-of-three who hires a night nanny, is showing a more real portrayal of the trials and tribulations of motherhood.
Speaking to E! News’ Ryan Seacrest, she said: “I was coming out of the early stages of being incredibly sleep deprived [when I got the script for ‘Tully’]. To me, it felt like something that felt super authentic. I think parenthood is incredible but it’s messy. We don’t see enough of that and I think it’s hard on moms and society to feel that pressure. Somehow if you do that [focus on yourself], you’re [told you’re] a terrible mom. I know when I look after myself, I know that I’m a better mom to my kids.”
Charlize previously admitted she has always wanted to adopt and never planned to have biological children, largely due to her exposure to orphanages and children in need in the community where she grew up in South Africa.
Charlize – who adopted both her children – said: “Even when I was in relationships, I was always honest with my partners, that adoption was how my family would look one day. This was definitely not a second option for me. It was always my first.”
And the 43-year-old star always knew she wanted more than one child.
She added: “We went through this really beautiful stage a year ago where the baby was hugging her sibling and there was all this love and affection. I was bawling my eyes out every day saying, ‘This is the most beautiful love I have ever witnessed in my life.’ Now the baby is almost three and realises she doesn’t have to do everything her sibling tells her. There’s a lot of wars in my house. I’m like, ‘Where’s the cute period that we went through?'”

Hailey Bieber pens open letter about anxiety

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber has called on women to support women as she admits to suffering anxiety due to her insecurities.
The 22-year-old model – who is married to pop superstar Justin Bieber – has penned an open letter on Instagram and vowed to be speak more about her issues and allow herself to be “more vulnerable” to help others who, like her, constantly feel the need to compare themselves to others on social media.
Admitting she can get “angry” and feel “fragile” at times and never feels like she is “good enough”, Hailey wrote alongside a picture of herself smiling whilst throwing up the peace sign: “stepping into 2019 I want to be more open, I want to be more open about the things I struggle with, and be able to be more vulnerable. I’m a 22 years old, and the truth is no matter how amazing life may look from the outside I struggle…
“I’m insecure, I’m fragile, I’m hurting, I have fears, I have doubts, I have anxiety, I get sad, I get angry. I have had more days than I can count where I’ve found myself scrolling through Instagram comparing myself, comparing my looks, feeling like I’m not good enough feeling like I lack so many things and really struggling to be confident in who I am because I constantly feel like I’m just not good enough.
“Every single day is a confidence battle for me.
“I’m not writing this for a pity party or for sympathy but just to simply say, I’m a human.. I’m a young woman, I’m learning who I am and, it’s REALLY FREAKING HARD. It’s hard finding who you are, but what’s even harder is being picked apart and compared to other women while trying to do that. There are days that I’m simply broken because of it. (sic)”
Hailey has vowed to practice being herself from now on and called on her fellow females to embrace their “flaws”, because God made them “individuals” for a reason.
She continued: “It would be incredible if other young girls and women could find it in themselves to lift each other up, to stop making other women who are struggling JUST LIKE THEM, feel incompetent and less than. We ALL have flaws, and that will never change. What I do know is, God made us individuals for a reason, with our own beauty, our own personalities, and our own story because there’s a specific plan and purpose for each and every human created and he makes no mistakes!! So this year I’m gonna do my very best to just be ME and be confident with who I am. Cause I am enough, and I’m loved, and you are enough and you’re loved. (sic)”

Jessica Chastain shares first picture of daughter

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Chastain has shared the first glimpse of her baby daughter.
The ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ actress and her husband Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo welcomed daughter Giulietta Passi Chastain into the world 10 months ago, via a surrogate.
And on Sunday (06.01.19), as she was getting ready for the Golden Globes – which saw the star lose out to Glenn Close in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama category for her titular role as Molly Bloom in ‘Molly’s Game’ – the 41-year-old actress took to Instagram to share a picture in a white dressing gown preparing for the glitzy bash, with the tot leaning over her chest holding her mother’s shiny red Piaget ring.
Jessica captioned the snap, which only had her little girl’s hand on display: “You’ve got good taste, kid.”
In November, Jessica, 41, was seen pushing a stroller in Boston while shooting her upcoming movie ‘Eve’, fuelling speculation she’d become a parent via surrogacy or adoption as her figure hadn’t changed over the last year.
Days after the Boston sighting, Gian Luca, 36, was seen carrying a baby car seat into a hotel with Jessica and her assistant.
The ‘Help’ actress – who married the fashion executive in 2017 after five years together – is usually guarded about her personal life but she previously admitted she’d never been interested in tying the knot until she “got to know” Gian Luca.
She previously said: “When I first met my husband, he knew that marriage wasn’t something I was interested in.
“And then as we got to know each other, the idea of marriage shifted for me. There are some things worth celebrating — and he’s worth celebrating.”
Jessica also admitted she loves the fact Gian Luca is a “gentleman”.
She said: “He is a gentleman. And that is very important to me. He’s from an old school Italian family. No one in his family’s ever been divorced!”

Margot Robbie shocked by reaction to regal outfits

OHMYGOSSIP — Margot Robbie says people acted differently towards her when she put on her regal ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ outfit.
The 28-year-old actress plays Queen Elizabeth I in the movie and has revealed the movie’s crew really responded to her costume.
She said: “I’ve done films where I’ve played someone who’s pregnant, and it’s interesting that everyone unconsciously tries to help you step out of a door, or they move differently around you. They have this instinct to touch your belly, even though they know perfectly well it’s not real and we’re on a film set.
“And likewise, playing Elizabeth, when I would go to set in my track suit, we’d all chat about our weekends or whatever, and then I’d come back in full royal regalia, and suddenly everyone’s standing a little taller and saying good morning, and being timid. And then on the flip side, when she had smallpox, the makeup definitely looked painful. People looked away a little bit, like it was uncomfortable to look at Elizabeth, which is great, because it was a small glimpse of how she might have felt at the time.”
And Margot liked being isolated on the film’s set as she thinks that helped her to channel her character’s loneliness.
She added to Deadline: “The isolation and the loneliness Elizabeth feels is definitely a huge part of her story, and I think it helped so much to know Saoirse and the four Marys had this amazing bond and they were always having so much fun. My character doesn’t have scenes where she can giggle and have fun. It was great, because I would sit there and just be thinking, ‘I just want to be hanging out with girlfriends and doing fun things.’ I was sitting alone in a room doing things with flowers. It was about imagining what the other one is up to, and feeling that pang of envy.”

Corey Taylor wants to make ‘dark jazz’ album

OHMYGOSSIP — Corey Taylor wants to turn Slipknot and Stone Sour songs into a “dark” jazz album.
The 45-year-old frontman of both groups says he’s already thought about turning his influences in the jazz world – including Billie Holiday and Charlie Parker – into a collection of “jazzy” interpretations of his own songs, featuring a group of musicians.
Asked if he would consider doing a country record, he replied: “Even coming from Iowa — f*** no! Absolutely not, and it’s not to say that I couldn’t write stuff like that.”
However, it would be for his own “personal collection” as he doesn’t think it would sell.
He told RadioVegas.Rocks’ Chaotic Radio: “My interest would be more singer-songwriter kind of vibe, like Squeeze or something like that.
“I’ve actually been thinking about doing something like this – putting together a quartet or a quintet and doing a jazz album, like a dark jazz album, [and] recording it live in a room.
“It won’t sell s**t. It would really just be for my own f***ing personal collection … ‘Cause I love jazz.
“A lot of people don’t realise that – I listen to a lot of ’40s and ’50s jazz. And there is this … the haunting stuff that [Billie] Holiday would do, the older stuff that Charlie Parker would do, when he was really f***ed up – that would be the stuff that I would be closer to.”
The ‘Psychosocial’ hitmaker already has a jazzy version of Stone Sour’s ‘Bother’, which could kick off the album.
He added: “I’ve got, actually, jazzy versions of some of my own songs that I would love to try. Probably something like ‘Prosthetics’ [by Slipknot], I think would be really, really cool.
And then ‘Bother’ [by Stone Sour] – I’ve got a really cool jazzy version of ‘Bother’ that could be really cool.”
Slipknot made a comeback in October, with their first single in two years, ‘All Out Life’, and Corey teased their new album will be “one of the darkest chapter’s” in the band’s history.
The heavy metal outfit gave their supporters – known as Maggots – a taste of things to come ahead of their hotly-anticipated sixth studio album by dropping the new thrash track as a Halloween treat – and Corey spilled that the new record is “fierce as hell”.
He said: “The album is underway, and it’s going to be one of the darkest chapters in Slipknot’s history.
“It’s that good. It’s complicated, it’s dark, it’s heavy, it’s heavy, it’s melodic, it’s fierce, it’s angry and it’s raw as hell. It’s going to be talking about a lot of things that people are going to need in their life.
“It kind of had a cross between the first album and ‘Iowa’. I keep telling people that this is what the kids from Iowa would have made if they’d matured. It’s a step from that.”
‘All Out Life’ is very much in the vein of their upcoming follow-up to 2014’s ‘.5: The Gray Chapter’, which is due out later this year.

Justin Bieber to release new music this year?

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Bieber could be releasing his fifth album this year.
The ‘As Long As You Love Me’ hitmaker’s manager Scooter Braun has teased the singer could drop his next LP in the coming months, his first offering since 2015’s ‘Purpose’.
He teased: “2019 is gonna be a wild one. I just feel it.”
Before adding in a now-deleted tweet: “@justinbieber JB5?”
However, it’s not known how long fans may have to wait to get new music as a source recently revealed Justin is cutting back on work to focus on his marriage to Hailey Baldwin.
The insider shared: “Justin seems okay. However, he doesn’t seem ready to record new music yet and keeps saying that he just wants to hang out with Hailey. Hailey actually seems more ready to work than he does. They have had a few conflicts about it. Justin likes to just hang out, watch movies and chill. Hailey has a lot of energy and projects that she wants to do. They are not on the same page when it comes to work. Hailey understands how hard Justin worked for so long, and is fine with him taking a break. If she has things she wants to do, Justin is fine with that. There has been a little bit of conflict, but nothing out of the ordinary. They’re still very much in love, and their families love each other. That’s all that matters.”
Justin has been enjoying having a break from his career and relaxing with his 22-year-old wife.
The insider explained: “He’s been on the go for a long time, and he’s enjoying a laid-back season of life. He is enjoying time with the woman he loves, and doesn’t want anything to get in the way of that. He’ll get back to work soon, but the truth is that he doesn’t have to. He’s got enough money.”

Tina O’Brien’s wedding nerves

OHMYGOSSIP — Tina O’Brien’s “heart was hammering” when she tied the knot with Adam Crofts.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who plays Sarah-Louise Platt on the ITV soap – admits she found it “nerve-wracking” walking down the aisle because she “didn’t want to take it lightly committing” to someone for the rest of her life.
She admitted: “I found the idea of everybody looking at me quite nerve-wracking. But I was just so happy to see Adam, Beau and Scarlett all dressed up. My heart was hammering. It felt so intense. I didn’t take it lightly committing to being with somebody for the rest of my life.”
However, now they are married, Tina and Adam couldn’t be happier.
She said: “It’s amazing to finally be husband and wife.”
Whilst Adam added: “I just felt excited to finally be getting married. It had been a long time coming!”
Tina wanted her 10-year-old daughter Scarlett – who she has with Ryan Thomas – and Beau, four, who she has with Adam, to have a big part in the wedding.
She shared to the new issue of OK! magazine: “Beau brought the ring box over. He was supposed to open it but he just handed it over. He did amazing considering he is only four! I think he was very proud of the part he played. Scarlett did really well, too. I was surprised she didn’t snatch the microphone and start singing! They had the run of the whole hotel! I think Scarlett thought she was the queen …
“In the run up to the wedding, Beau had been going into nursery and marrying all the girls in his class! All he talked about was us getting married. He got married to two girls one day. I don’t think his brides realised he was a bigamist!”

James Argent teases Gemma Collins over ‘little jumps’

OHMYGOSSIP — James ‘Arg’ Argent teased Gemma Collins over her “little jumps” on ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The ‘TOWIE’ star impressed the judges on Sunday night (6.01.19) when she took to the ice for the first time to perform her skating routine to Beyonce’s ‘Crazy In Love’ alongside her professional partner Matt Evers, scoring a respectable 16 points out of 40.
And it was the reality star’s show-stopping splits that “shocked” a lot of people, according to Arg, who thought his girlfriend did a “bloody brilliant” job.
Sharing a video in bed with her beau after her first night performing live on the ITV1 show, Gemma said: “So this is a goodnight from me and Argy.
“Thank you to everyone who is supporting me.
“How do you think I did?”
Arg laughed: “I though you were bloody brilliant. The splits, the little jumps you did.”
Gemma replied: “He thought my little jumps were hilarious. It took the mickey out of me for them. He’s a mickey-taker.”
Arg said: “No. You were brilliant. I am really proud of you. I think you shocked a lot of people last night. Bring on the next one.”
Gemma admitted: “It was scary I am not going to lie.”
The 37-year-old star also posted a video of her splits on Instagram and admitted she was “overwhelmed” by the reaction to their routine, but that her little wobbles were down to “nerves”.
She captioned the clip: “Did you ever expect the GC to do the SPLITS!? I’m overwhelmed by the reaction, Thank you so much! I hope I proved a lot of people wrong tonight
“Thank you for voting for me, I love you all!!! @dancingonice @itv the NERVES got the better of me but I hope to be better next week (sic)”
Gemma revealed on the night that she was just relieved to have “made it” around the ice in one piece, whilst Matt joked: “You didn’t kill me, you didn’t kill yourself. We’re safe.”
Giving her feedback, the ice panel encouraged Gemma to ignore her critics and just worry about what she is doing on the ice.
Ashley Banjo said: “Gemma, you’re a ledge. I just want to say – it doesn’t matter what they say, it matters what you do. You did it and you smashed the routine.”
Asked if there was any point that she considered not doing this, Gemma – who famously quit ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ shortly into her stay in the jungle in 2014 – said: “Yeah, two minutes before I came out here. I said to Matt, I looked him in the eyes and said, ‘Do I have to go out there?’ and he said, ‘Yes!'”

John Cena thinks WWE has set him up perfectly for CGI Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena thinks his WWE experience makes him the perfect choice for CGI blockbusters.
The ‘Bumblebee’ actor insisted it wasn’t difficult to act without the titular transformer actually being on set, and he joked it’s because he’s used to faking reality with his time as a wrestler.
Speaking to Cinemablend, he laughed: “You’re asking ME if it was difficult or not to pretend to make something real that isn’t really real?
“I think I’m the right guy for that job.”
While Cena’s Hollywood career is kicking off, he recently added to the publication that he won’t be completely abandoning WWE as he tries to strike a “balance” between the two.
He explained: “I’m literally in the search for balance, I am. I’ve told everyone in the WWE that I will not abandon ship.
“This is my home, this is my family, and I’m realising how tough it is to balance everything but I’m here, and the best I can do is manage my time the best I can, and really just never leave my family out to dry.
“I have some wonderful opportunities coming up that I’m going to take advantage of, and a lot of that involves me being away from the WWE.”
Meanwhile Cena, 41, has previously apologised to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who he heavily criticised in the past for his similar transition from the ring to the big screen.
The star said: “I owe a lot of what I’ve done in WWE and in cinema to Dwayne Johnson. He’s always been genuine, he’s always shot straight – and that’s on TV and off TV
“We have a very good rapport with each other and I can… I’ve told this to him that I’m sorry, and I can tell it to you, and I can tell it to you: I spoke out of ignorance, I was wrong, and I’m sorry.

James Wan reacts to theory Home Alone’s Kevin is Jigsaw’s Saw

OHMYGOSSIP — James Wan thinks the viral theory that ‘Home Alone’ hero Kevin McCallister grew up to be Jigsaw from ‘Saw’ is “amazing”.
A viral theory surfaced in 2014, which argued that the lead character from the family flick – which shows Macaulay Culkin’s alter ego protecting his home from burglars with a selection of homemade traps – grew up to be John Kramer from the gory horror franchise, which follows the serial killer as he brutally murders his victims with a series of deadly games.
The director of the Christmas classic has revealed that he thinks the theory is “awesome” and the ‘Aquaman’ director, 41, is “flattered” that fans take the time to speculate about his work and “have fun” with internet theories.
Speaking to the Huffington Post, he said: “It’s amazing. I should’ve known all along that Macaulay Culkin would grow up to be John Kramer. I think it’s awesome.
“I’m very flattered that people take the time to have fun with all these fan theories. I think that’s why I make these movies. I want the fans out there to have fun with them.”
The theory was originally posted by Jason Concepcion on Grantland, who contends that Kevin does not display the normal behaviour of a child and suffers “psychosis” which leads him to develop his ” methodology” as John.
He wrote: “Kevin experiences frequent realistic visual and auditory hallucinations, seeing the furnace in the basement as a ravenous fiery-mawed monster.
“This particular symptom of his psychosis would become important to his methodology as the serial killer Jigsaw.
“Is this the behavior of a normal child? Perhaps, but when you take into account the similarities between Kevin’s intricate, almost pathologically complicated home-defense mechanisms and Jigsaw’s carefully designed murder-traps, the case for Kevin being young Jigsaw become quite a bit more substantial.”
