Will Smith faces ‘cold-blooded killer’ in Bad Boys for Life

OHMYGOSSIP — Will Smith will face a “cold-blooded killer” in ‘Bad Boys for Life’.
The 50-year-old actor and his co-star Martin Lawrence confirmed last year they are working on the upcoming third instalment of the much-loved thriller/mystery franchise, and now further plot details have emerged.
Jacob Scipio is set to portray the head of a drug cartel, Armando Armas, who is on a mission to take down Smith’s alter-ego Mike Lowry.
Paola Nunez has also been revealed as the AMMO unit’s newly recruited head, Rite, who is also a former love interest of Lowry.
A description of the synopsis reads: “The new instalment centres on the Miami PD and its elite AMMO team’s attempt to take down Armando Armas (Scipio), head of a drug cartel.
“Armando is a cold-blooded killer with a vicious, taunting nature.
“He is committed to the work of the cartel and is dispatched by his mother to kill Mike (Smith). (Paola) Nunez will take on the role of Rite, the tough and funny criminal psychologist who is the newly appointed head of AMMO and Mike’s former girlfriend – and the one who got away.”
The plot reveal comes after Vanessa Hudgens was announced as the latest cast member to join the long-awaited third movie.
The 30-year-old actress – who was best known for portraying Gabriella Montez in the ‘High School Musical’ film series – was confirmed for the movie along with ‘Riverdale’ star Charles Melton and ‘Vikings’ actor Alexander Ludwig.
Responding to the news, she wrote: “Stoked!!!!”
The trio will be part of a special police squad in Miami that clashes with Will and Martin’s alter egos, Detectives Lowry and Marcus Burnett.
The duo both starred in the 1995 film ‘Bad Boys; and its 2003 sequel ‘Bad Boys II’.
Confirming that they had reunited and are set to reprise their roles, Martin took to Instagram to post a picture of himself next to 50-year-old Will and said the third movie was now “official”.
He wrote: “It’s official. Bad Boys for Life. #teammartymar #badboysforlife @willsmith #weback (sic)”
For Martin, the return marks the first time he’s been in a movie since 2011’s ‘Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son’, and the first time he’s acted at all since appearing in the 2014 TV series ‘Partners’.
‘Bad Boys for Life’ has been discussed for years and suffered several false dawns, largely due to Will’s hectic schedule, but in October, it was reported that Sony Pictures were on the cusp of giving the movie the green light.
Production is set to begin in early 2019, with the film having been handed a tentative release date of January 2020.

John Cena thinks WWE has set him up perfectly for CGI Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — John Cena thinks his WWE experience makes him the perfect choice for CGI blockbusters.
The ‘Bumblebee’ actor insisted it wasn’t difficult to act without the titular transformer actually being on set, and he joked it’s because he’s used to faking reality with his time as a wrestler.
Speaking to Cinemablend, he laughed: “You’re asking ME if it was difficult or not to pretend to make something real that isn’t really real?
“I think I’m the right guy for that job.”
While Cena’s Hollywood career is kicking off, he recently added to the publication that he won’t be completely abandoning WWE as he tries to strike a “balance” between the two.
He explained: “I’m literally in the search for balance, I am. I’ve told everyone in the WWE that I will not abandon ship.
“This is my home, this is my family, and I’m realising how tough it is to balance everything but I’m here, and the best I can do is manage my time the best I can, and really just never leave my family out to dry.
“I have some wonderful opportunities coming up that I’m going to take advantage of, and a lot of that involves me being away from the WWE.”
Meanwhile Cena, 41, has previously apologised to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who he heavily criticised in the past for his similar transition from the ring to the big screen.
The star said: “I owe a lot of what I’ve done in WWE and in cinema to Dwayne Johnson. He’s always been genuine, he’s always shot straight – and that’s on TV and off TV
“We have a very good rapport with each other and I can… I’ve told this to him that I’m sorry, and I can tell it to you, and I can tell it to you: I spoke out of ignorance, I was wrong, and I’m sorry.

James Wan reacts to theory Home Alone’s Kevin is Jigsaw’s Saw

OHMYGOSSIP — James Wan thinks the viral theory that ‘Home Alone’ hero Kevin McCallister grew up to be Jigsaw from ‘Saw’ is “amazing”.
A viral theory surfaced in 2014, which argued that the lead character from the family flick – which shows Macaulay Culkin’s alter ego protecting his home from burglars with a selection of homemade traps – grew up to be John Kramer from the gory horror franchise, which follows the serial killer as he brutally murders his victims with a series of deadly games.
The director of the Christmas classic has revealed that he thinks the theory is “awesome” and the ‘Aquaman’ director, 41, is “flattered” that fans take the time to speculate about his work and “have fun” with internet theories.
Speaking to the Huffington Post, he said: “It’s amazing. I should’ve known all along that Macaulay Culkin would grow up to be John Kramer. I think it’s awesome.
“I’m very flattered that people take the time to have fun with all these fan theories. I think that’s why I make these movies. I want the fans out there to have fun with them.”
The theory was originally posted by Jason Concepcion on Grantland, who contends that Kevin does not display the normal behaviour of a child and suffers “psychosis” which leads him to develop his ” methodology” as John.
He wrote: “Kevin experiences frequent realistic visual and auditory hallucinations, seeing the furnace in the basement as a ravenous fiery-mawed monster.
“This particular symptom of his psychosis would become important to his methodology as the serial killer Jigsaw.
“Is this the behavior of a normal child? Perhaps, but when you take into account the similarities between Kevin’s intricate, almost pathologically complicated home-defense mechanisms and Jigsaw’s carefully designed murder-traps, the case for Kevin being young Jigsaw become quite a bit more substantial.”

Lady Gaga’s expensive Golden Globes accessories

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga wore diamonds worth $5 million to the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (06.01.19).
The ‘Star is Born’ actress accessorised her eggshell blue Valentino dress with some stunning Tiffany & Co. jewellery, including the Aurora necklace, a sustainably sourced piece that had been custom made just for her and which featured 300 brilliant diamonds with a pear-shaped stone at the centre.
Her stylists, Tom Eerebout and Sandra Amador thought the “exquisite” accessory was just the showstopper the 32-year-old star needed to kick off awards season.
Tom said: “The Tiffany Aurora necklace, specially crafted for Lady Gaga and today’s Globes, captures the majestic nature of her dress perfectly. Because this is such a special moment — her first major award show of the season — we wanted the jewelry and dress to complement each other.”
Sandra added: “What could be more fitting than this exquisite custom piece, named after the goddess of dawn and a cluster of stars, to mark Lady Gaga’s wonderful work in ‘A Star Is Born’?”
As well as the necklace, Gaga also sported $115,000 diamond and platinum cluster earrings and a trio of bracelets.
The ‘Born this Way’ singer sparked suggestions she had chosen her couture gown to pay tribute to Judy Garland, the actress who appeared in the 1954 version of ‘A Star is Born’, as it shared a similar colour, full skirt, and belled sleeves to a dress worn by the screen legend in the movie, but she insisted it hadn’t been a deliberate move.
Shown Judy’s look in the movie by ‘Entertainment Tonight’ reporter Nancy O’Dell, Gaga – who had dyed her hair blue to match the gown – replied: “We didn’t say that. No, but it looks an awful lot like that, doesn’t it?
“She looks beautiful. This is Valentino Couture custom creation for me. That’s special, except I’m missing the gloves. Thank you for showing me that. It made my night.”

Michael Douglas honours father in speech

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Douglas dedicated his Golden Globe win to his father Kirk Douglas.
The 74-year-old actor was honoured with the prize for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy at the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (06.01.18) and during his acceptance speech, he also took the time to praise ‘The Kominsky Method’ creator Chuck Lorre for his “exquisite” work.
Michael – who plays actor-turned-acting coach Sandy Kominsky in the Netflix series – said: “Hollywood Foreign Press, thank you guys so much. For 45 years, you’ve always surprised me and treated me so well…
“The truth be told, I owe all of this to one man out there — Mr. Chuck Lorre. Chuck thinks getting old is funny. Thank you for your exquisite work.
“And I guess this has to go to my 102-year-old father, Kirk.”
And backstage at the event, Michael – who won the prestigious Cecil B DeMille Award at the ceremony 15 years ago, and was previously honoured at the Globes in both 1987 and 2013 – admitted his dad had given him the best piece of advice he’d ever received.
Michael – who attended the ceremony with his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones – explained: “Stamina and tenacity. He was out of the school where you get your best shot, you walk away after you’ve done the best you can. Then f**k it! That’s the best advice I got.”
To win the award, the veteran actor beat off competition from ‘Kidding’ star Jim Carrey, ‘Atlanta’s Donald Glover, ‘Barry’ actor Bill Hader, and ‘Who is America?’ comic Sacha Baron Cohen.

Chris Tarrant ‘couldn’t care less’ about Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? snub

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Tarrant “couldn’t care less” about the revamped ‘Who Want To Be A Millionaire?’
The former presenter of the popular ITV quiz show was snubbed as host for its revival – with Jeremy Clarkson over in the hot seat – but insists he has no bitterness because he doesn’t think it can match the “buzz” of the original.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “I genuinely couldn’t care less. I wouldn’t have wanted to do it again. They had to get someone very different from me, so Clarkson’s probably not a bad shout.
“But what they’ll never have is the great buzz we had, particularly in our first year. That was an amazing time.”
Chris, 72, presented the show from 1998 to 2014, and he revealed he was on holiday when Jeremy, 58, first took over for a run of specials last year.
He said: “I was in France, fishing. And no, not to get away from it, that’s just where I happened to be.”
The star – who admitted he watched ‘Luther’ instead of the revival last week – previously admitted he would’ve “politely turned down” an offer to return to the show had he been asked.
His spokesperson previously said: “Chris thought the programme had run its course.
“He wasn’t approached but if he was, he would have politely turned it down. Chris is delighted it’s back and wishes it well.”
The latest series kicked off on New Year’s Day (01.01.19), and new host Jeremy recently revealed he had to learn to be nicer to contestants.
He said: “I’m told I’ve been nicer to the contestants, but last year there were some very stupid contestants who didn’t warrant any niceness.
“This time they’ve been – by and large, with one or two exceptions – sparky and on-it and bright and deserving of a place in the chair.”

Mandy Dingle’s ‘revelatory’ Emmerdale return

OHMYGOSSIP — Mandy Dingle’s ‘Emmerdale’ return storyline will be “revelatory” and feature “a lot of twists and turns”.
Mark Charnock, who plays Marlon Dingle on the ITV soap, has teased fans they can expect Lisa Riley’s Dales comeback plot to be exciting, and it will leave her on-screen ex-husband Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) shocked.
He said: “The bits that I’ve shot with her are revelatory. There are a lot of twists and turns to come, because of Mandy. God dammit. Paddy’s mind is blown.
“She had so many connections with the village, but especially Paddy.”
Mandy has returned to the village with her 16-year-old son Vinny – played by Bradley Johnson – who some social media users have speculated could turn out be Paddy’s kid, but Mark has hinted her return plot could feature something “much more significant”.
He added: “I can’t say too much because there are a lot of assumptions made on Twitter about why she’s coming back.
“It could be that but it could be something else, much more significant. So we’ll have to see.”
Mark first appeared in ‘Emmerdale’ in October 1996 over a year after Lisa made her Dales debut, and he has always been fond of her after she made him feel so welcome on his first day on set.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, he said: “Me, her and Dominic were as thick as thieves 22 years ago.
“She was the first person to give me a big hug and I was immediately embraced by the Dingles, so I immediately just loved her.
“She made me feel so at home.
“We’ve kept in touch over the years but I haven’t seen much of her because our lives went in different directions.
“But when she came back it was like she’d never been away. It was immediate hysteria.
“She’s turned into this wonderful woman.”

Anne Hegerty was issued I’m A Celebrity exit warning by psychologist

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hegerty was ruled out of so many ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ Bushtucker Trials because the show’s psychologist “freaked out” that she might not be able to cope.
The ‘Chase’ quizzer was “surprised” she was ruled out of numerous creepy crawly challenges on “medical grounds” after exiting her first trial early, but says the programme’s psychologist threatened to pull her out of the series if she pushed herself “beyond her limits”.
The 60-year-old star – who lasted 18 days in the Australian jungle – said: “I’ve shown a more pathetic side [to myself]. I was a bit surprised that I kept being ruled out on medical grounds.
“What that was actually about was there is a psychologist attached to the programme.
“She got very freaked out by how upset I was by the first trial and basically she kept saying, ‘I don’t want Anne doing this again until she’s recovered.’
“She said to me before I did the second trial, ‘You are absolutely not to push yourself beyond your limits.’
“But I said, ‘I don’t want to let people down.’ She was like, ‘Shut up, stop talking about not letting people down. If you push yourself beyond your limits I’m going to pull you out of the jungle and we will be having the next conversation in a hotel.’ ”
Anne – who was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome in 2005 – insists she was “totally up for” appearing in the show before entering the jungle, only for her to break down in tears on the opening night of series 18 as she and her fellow celebrities rocked up in camp.
But she is pleased she took part in the show, and is glad people now approach her to congratulate her for ‘I’m A Celebrity’ rather than for being “really clever” on ‘The Chase’ all the time.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, she added: “What I’ve been getting most of over the last three weeks or so is people slapping me on the back and saying, ‘Loved you in the jungle,’ rather than people being clever and saying, ‘Oh, you’re really clever aren’t you?’ ”

The 32-year-old actor – who beat out the likes of Jason Bateman (‘Ozark’), Stephan James (‘Homecoming’), Billy Porter (‘Pose’) and Matthew Rhys (‘The Americans’) to take the award – thanked the team who had worked on the show for his win, as well as his family, who had flown over to Los Angeles for the ceremony.
He told the audience at the Beverly Hilton hotel: “Thank you very much to HFPA. I didn’t see this coming at all. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the amazing crew and cast that made Bodyguard that worked very hard over the course of five months to make this show.
“And most importantly, my friends and my family and mom and dad who flew all the way from Scotland. I wouldn’t be here without you.”
While Matthew and Keri missed out on acting wins for ‘The Americans’, the sixth and final season of the Russian spy saga was named Best Drama, beating both ‘Killing Eve’ and ‘The Bodyguard’, as well as ‘Homecoming’ and ‘Pose’, to take the accolade.

Regina King makes equality pledge

OHMYGOSSIP — Regina King vowed to employ more women on her projects in a passionate speech at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (06.01.19).
The 47-year-old actress called for others “in a position of power” to do the same as she pledged to use her “platform” to have an equal gender split on everything she produces as she picked up the Best Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture award for her role in ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’.
After thanking a number of people, including her director Barry Jenkins, she said: “The reason why we do this is because we understand that our microphones are big and we are speaking for everyone.
“And I just want to say that I’m going to use my platform right now to say in the next two years, everything that I produce, I’m making a vow – it’s going to be tough – to make sure that everything that I produce that is 50 per cent women.
“And I just challenge anyone out there – anyone out there who is in a position of power, not just in our industry, in all industries – I challenge you to challenge yourselves and stand with us in solidarity and do the same.”
At one point, the ceremonial music began to play to end Regina’s speech, but she ignored the nudge and continued so the music was cut off and she was able to finish her passionate address at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Glenn Close’s tearful Golden Globes speech

OHMYGOSSIP — Glenn Close fought back tears as she picked up the Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama award at the Golden Globes on Sunday (06.01.19).
The 71-year-old actress won the award for her performance in ‘The Wife’ and received a standing ovation for her empowering acceptance speech at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in which she spoke of how women need to “find personal fulfillment” and “follow our dreams”.
Glenn began her speech by saying how proud she felt to be with her “category sisters”, fellow nominees Lady Gaga – who she stopped to shake hands with on her way to the stage – Melissa McCarthy, Nicole Kidman and Rosamund Pike.
She said of the shortlisted stars: “We have gotten to know each other a little bit so far, and I can’t wait to spend more time with you.
“I’m so — everything that you did this year, or what you are here for — we all should be up here together, that’s all I can say. Oh, my god, I just don’t believe it.”
She then grew tearful as she spoke of how proud she is to have fulfilled her dreams and to have had such a “wonderful life”.
She said: “I’m thinking of my mom, who really sublimated herself to my father her whole life, and in her eighties she said to me, ‘I feel I haven’t accomplished anything,’ and it was so not right.
“I feel what I’ve learned from this whole experience is that women, we’re nurturers and that’s what’s expected of us. We have our children and husbands if we’re lucky enough…. but we have to find personal fulfillment. We have to follow our dreams we have to say, ‘I can do that,’ and ‘I should be allowed to do that.’
“So, when I was little, I felt like Muhammad Ali who was destined to be a boxer; I felt destined to be an actress. I saw the early Disney films [with] Hayley Mills, and I said, ‘I could do that!’ and here I am today. It will have been 45 years in September that I am a working actress, and I cannot imagine a more wonderful life.”

Chrissy Metz slams Alison Brie?

OHMYGOSSIP — Chrissy Metz seemingly called Alison Brie a “bitch” during a Golden Globes red carpet interview on Sunday (06.01.19).
The ‘This Is Us’ actress was talking about the third season of the drama series to Facebook Live pre-show hosts AJ Gibson and Missi Pyle when she was asked to help them move on to a chat with the ‘GLOW’ actress at the other end of the red carpet.
AJ asked: “Do you know a girl named Alison Brie?”
Chrissy simply said: “Do I?”
The host replied: “Well, I hear she’s at the other end of the carpet.”
After an awkward silence, their guest said: “Oh.”
Missi eventually broke the silence and said: “Let’s go see Alison Brie.”
The 38-year-old actress then appeared to believe her microphone was turned off as she seemingly explained the tone in her voice and said: “I’m like, ‘Do?’ She’s such a bitch.’ ”
The live stream then simply moved on as another presenter, Yvette Nicole Brown began her interview with Alison.
The former ‘Community’ actress appeared baffled when she heard about the perceived slight.
Vanity Fair reporter Nicole Sperling tweeted: “Just asked Alison Brie about this. She had not heard about Metz’s comments and seemed very confused by the entire matter. “But why?,” she asked. “I know her. I saw her on the carpet and I told her how beautiful she looked.”(sic)”
The 36-year-old actress later posted a photo of herself and Chrissy at the 2018 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on her Instagram Story and wrote: “Nothing but love for @chrissymetz!! Rumors can’t keep us down.(sic)”
The ‘American Horror Story’ actress has now tweeted about her supposed comments, insisting she would “never say a bad word” about anyone.
Chrissy posted: “It’s terribly unfortunate anyone would think much less run a story that was completely fabricated.
“I adore Alison and would never say a bad word about her, or anyone! I sure hope she knows my heart.”

Wayne Rooney was ‘disorientated’ when arrested for public intoxication

OHMYGOSSIP — Wayne Rooney’s public intoxication arrest was because he felt “disorientated” after taking sleeping tablets and drinking.
The soccer star was picked up by police on December 16 at Dulles International Airport in Virginia on the way back from Saudi Arabia and he says it was as a result of mixing the prescribed tablets with alcohol.
His spokesman said: “During the flight Wayne took a prescribed amount of sleeping tablets mixed with some alcohol consumption and consequently was disorientated on arrival. He was approached by police who arrested him on a minor misdemeanour charge. He received a statutory automatic fine and was released shortly afterwards at the airport. The matter is now at an end. Wayne would like to put on record his appreciation for the manner he was treated by all involved.”
Documents from Loudoun General District Court show that the 33-year-old sportsman was asked to pay a $25 fine as well as $91 costs and did so on January 4. He was also charged with a ‘Class 4’ misdemeanour, where the fine is a maximum of $250.
A spokesman for Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said Rooney was taken into custody “on a charge of public intoxication stemming from an arrest by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police. He was later released on a personal recognisance bond.”
Major League Soccer’s DC United – the team for which Rooney now plays – added in a statement: “We are aware of news reports indicating that Wayne Rooney was arrested in December. We understand the media’s interest in this matter but we believe this is a private matter for Wayne that DC United will handle internally. We have no further comment on this situation.”

Hugh Jackman never apart from Deborra-lee Furness for more than two weeks

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Jackman has never been away from his wife for more than two weeks.
The ‘Greatest Showman’ star believes that not staying apart from his spouse Deborra-lee Furness for more than 14 days at a time is the secret to their relationship.
He said: “She has the two-week rule. No roles that take you away that long. That was that rule, which we’ve kept for 25 years.”
And the 50-year-old actor says being honest is important in a relationship.
He added: “Even if it’s embarrassing, even if you’re shameful, even if you’ve screwed up, be honest. If you can trust each other, that’s better. She knows more about me than anybody else.”
Hugh knew it was love with Deborra-Lee almost instantly.
He told Sirius FM: “A few weeks into my relationship with Deb, she said, ‘By the way, do you think this is going anywhere? I’m going to live in New York.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, all right – coming.’ When you fall in love with someone, what you’re actually getting a glimpse of is the real them. That’s why it feels so great, like, ‘Ah, I don’t have to pretend to be something.'”
Hugh previously revealed he “knew very early” that his wife was “the one”.
He said: “I knew very early, I knew before Deb knew, even when she tried to break up with me, I knew [she was the one]. She kind of [broke up with me], a little bit. Early on, three weeks in. I managed to talk her out of it, thank God. I’m a very indecisive person, Deb really knows this about me. I can count on my hand the amount of times in my life anything has felt that clear to me, and when it happens it’s such a relief for me. I just knew 100 percent, I even knew when she was trying to work out reasons to break up with me.”

Nicole Scherzinger doesn’t watch TV

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Scherzinger doesn’t watch television.
The 40-year-old singer – who appeared as a judge on two series of British talent show ‘The X Factor’ – admits she didn’t tune in to this year’s show, but says that is because she doesn’t really watch TV.
Speaking on US radio, she said: “I didn’t see it, to be honest with you. I don’t watch television, so I’m not being shady towards ‘X Factor’. I just don’t watch TV.”
Meanwhile, Nicole previously opened up about the importance of “laughing and having fun”.
She said: “I try to get as much sleep as possible. When I don’t get the ideal amount, I try to drink as much water as possible and get a good sweat in just to feel at my best. Laughing and having fun are also so important for you to feel good about yourself, so just remember it’s never that serious!”
The former Pussycat Dolls singer also wants everyone to “feel confident in their own skin”.
She added: “I try not to wear make-up every day unless I have something important to do during the day. I like to keep things simple when I do wear make-up and always put a lip on. It’s so important to feel confident in your own skin to be at your best.”
Nicole likes to shape up before starring on a television show or filming a music video and does that by hitting the gym “like a demon”.
She explained: “To get in shape before a video shoot or during ‘The X Factor’, I hit the gym like a demon. It’s like training for a world title fight! To stop exercise being boring, I mix it up with yoga and spin. A deep tissue massage with essential oils afterwards is an ultimate treat. I also love to run and when I’m in London, I pound the sidewalk. No one bothers me if I stick a cap on, although they probably can’t catch me!”
