Noel Edmonds to move to New Zealand?

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Edmonds is planning to move to New Zealand.
The 70-year-old TV presenter and his wife Liz, 49, have put their seven-bedroom home near Bristol up for sale for £2.65 million and have begun house hunting across the world, with the ‘Deal or No Deal’ star’s unhappiness at being first voted off the recent series of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ said to be the trigger for them deciding to make the life-changing move.
A source told the Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Noel and Liz have been looking at properties in New Zealand with a view to moving there.
“The fact he got the boot first from ‘I’m A Celeb…’ really smashed him to pieces.
“He thought the show was the chance to repair his image.
“He relies very much on appearing popular and is devastated he was first voted out. He really thought he could win but now feels unappreciated by the British public…
“He and Liz think New Zealand could be a fresh start and Noel thinks he will be appreciated there.
“But he is very upset at the thought of leaving his animals especially his swans who he is very close to and likes to talk to, as a form of therapy.”
However, a spokesperson for the former ‘Noel’s House Party’ host dismissed speculation the veteran broadcaster had slipped into a depression over the result and insisted he had always planned to spend at least part of the year in New Zealand.
The spokesperson said: “He has always had a plan to live part of the year in New Zealand.
“Noel is full of energy and there are a number of work offers he is considering. He is not down.”

Nick Mason: Pink Floyd failed Syd Barrett

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Mason admits Pink Floyd didn’t know how to deal with Syd Barrett’s mental health.
The iconic rock band’s drummer has opened up about how the group responded to their late singer’s struggles before he was kicked out when David Gilmour joined the lineup.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine about their 1967 song ‘Bike’, he said: “The lyrics to this are so very Syd, astonishingly clever. It’s fun, but there’s a depth of sadness to them.
“When I listen to it now, I realise how young and immature we were and how hopeless we were at coming to grips with Syd’s breakdown.”
Syd worked with the legendary group on their debut album ‘The Piper at the Gates of Dawn’ and its influential follow-up ‘A Saucerful of Secrets’.
The star – whose time with the band ended in 1968 – battled mental health issues and heavy drug use, but he would go on to release two solo albums before retiring from music in 1972.
He later died of pancreatic cancer in 2006.
Following his sad death, Gilmour described the singer and lyricist as a “madcap genius” while praising his incredible body of work
He said at the time: “We are very sad to say that Roger Keith Barrett – Syd – has passed away.
“Do find time to play some of Syd’s songs and to remember him as the madcap genius who made us all smile with his wonderfully eccentric songs about bikes, gnomes and scarecrows. His career was painfully short, yet he touched more people than he could ever know.”

Travis Scott sued over festival cancellation

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Scott is being sued over the cancellation of a music festival.
The ‘Astroworld’ rapper has been accused of fraud and breach of contract by Empire Music Ventures, who allege he had agreed to perform at the 2019 Rhythm, Wine & Brews Experience at the Empire Polo Grounds – the same site as Coachella – but after he signed a deal on November 7 and received an upfront part-payment of $217,500 on December 3, his representatives called and cancelled his 75-minute set with no explanation.
On the day the organisers claim to have paid Travis the first installment of his $400,000 fee, they released a message cancelling the event which read: “Due to a last minute cancellation by our festival headliner, we have no other choice than to cancel the 2019 Rhythm, Wine & Brews Experience.”
In court documents obtained by The Blast, Empire Music Ventures accused the 26-year-old star and his team of stealing from them.
They wrote in bold and underlined text: “Defendants have stolen Plaintiff’s money. [They] refuse to return the money … each of them have kept it, and wrongfully converted it to their own use. They have stolen 217,500.00.”
While no explanation has been given for Travis dropping out of the festival, the contract states that he could not “contract or advertise any other performance within a 120-mile radius for 90 days before or 30 days after March 2”, meaning any possible surprise performance at Coachella could be severely limited.
Travis famously met Kylie Jenner – the mother of his daughter Stormi, 10 months, at Coachella, and after sparking an instant connection, the lip kit guru decided to head off on tour with the rapper to really get to know him.
She previously said: “We had a lot of downtime. It was organic. And we would just go to these random cities. We got to not be who we really were. Like, if we were in LA, I feel like it would’ve been way different. Everything happened for a reason. We weren’t going out as ‘Kylie and Trav.’ We would just be in Cleveland, walking the street for hours. We would go on walks, and no one would bother us.”

Linda Robson sparks concern

OHMYGOSSIP — Linda Robson has been visited twice by police and paramedics over the festive season due to concerns for her wellbeing.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist – who has three children with husband Mark Dunford – is now said to be on the road to recovery but her friends and family had reportedly called emergency services for help amid fears she was close to meltdown.
An insider explained the 60-year-old star hadn’t been sleeping well over the festive period and added to The Sun on Sunday newspaper: It all got a bit too much for Linda and the family, and that’s why they called in police and experts.
“The family reached breaking point as Linda’s behaviour was becoming a bit erratic. They were worried she might hurt herself.”
A spokesperson for the ‘Birds of a Feather’ actress declined to comment but the Metropolitan police confirmed they had visited her London home “following concerns for an occupant”.
Linda recently admitted she regularly tests herself for signs of dementia because she’s terrified of succumbing to the disease like her beloved mother Rita, who passed away in 2012.
She said: “I test myself all the time to check I’m not getting it.
“I try to remember numbers, things like that. It was awful seeing the woman I worshiped deteriorate.”
Linda is currently working with the Alzheimer’s Society to help raise money to pay for research into the disease and is also a big supporter of Marie Curie, which helped nurse her mother in a hospice in the months before she died.
She shared: “They made my mum’s last months and moments the best they possibly could.
“I can never thank them enough for the way they looked after my mum.”

James Wan slams Oscars snub

OHMYGOSSIP — James Wan has slammed the Oscars for failing to acknowledge ‘Aquaman’.
The 41-year-old filmmaker is unhappy that his superhero blockbuster – which features Jason Momoa in the titular role – wasn’t recognised in the shortlist for special effects honours at the upcoming Academy Awards, branding the snub a “f***ing disgrace”.
James spoke out after promoting the movie on his Facebook page and receiving a congratulatory reply from the film’s visual effects supervisor Kelvin McIlwain.
In response, the director posted: “Kelvin, you and your department are the unsung heroes of this film. The fact that your VFX peers in the Academy aren’t recognizing or appreciating what we/you’ve all contributed to the film and cinema is a f****ing disgrace.”
James’ comment came just a few days after he insisted it was “OK” for people to not like his DC Comics adventure.
He wrote on Twitter: “It has come to my attention that some folks are getting harassed by some fans for not liking AQM. Please don’t do that. Not the kind of support I want. Be respectful. Vice versa, it’s ok to not like my film, but there’s no need to attack me personally, or tag me on hates. Peace (sic)”
Meanwhile, Jason recently admitted he’d never had so much support ahead of the release of one of his movies.
The actor – who previously starred on the hit HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’ – confessed: “It’s never really happened to me so it’s an absolute great feeling to put in hard work and then people not be ripping apart before it comes out, because that’s always the hard thing is making these movies and then critics just kill out and then they never see the light of day.
“It’s nice people are responding well to it.”

Tom Jones wishes he’d done more for wife

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Tom Jones blames himself for his wife’s death.
The ‘Delilah’ hitmaker was left devastated when his beloved spouse Linda died of lung cancer in 2016 and he wishes he’d done something to force her to seek treatment much earlier.
Asked if he blames himself for his wife’s death, he said “Yes. You do start to think, ‘What if I had forced her to go to the doctors?’
“Because she didn’t go. You think, ‘S**t, maybe I should have said she had to’.
“After I lost my wife, lyrics to a Bob Dylan song reminded me of her. It’s called ‘What Good Am I?’
“I was reading into the lyrics thinking , ‘Jesus Christ …was I partly to blame? Should I have woken up before?
“By the time we found out about her cancer it was too late. I thought, ‘What could I have done?’. It started to mean more. So that song is very touching.”
But the 78-year-old singer admitted he needed therapy before he was able to perform his cover of the song again.
He added to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “When she passed away it was such a blow. I didn’t know whether I’d be able to do that song again.
“It was the one song I was scared of because she loved it.
“I had therapy in LA. The therapist said, ‘Don’t make any drastic moves right now, give it a little time’. I told her about the song and she said, ‘That’s the first one you should try. Get the one you’re scared of over with’.
“I thought as long as I could channel it with balance then I could return to music. I tried it. I got some of my musicians together and that was the first step. And doing that really helped.”
Tom – who had son Mark with Linda – recalled his devastation after his wife’s death but admitted he was determined not to “crumble completely”.
He said: “When something like that happens, it’s so devastating you don’t know how to deal with everything. It was something I’d never dealt with before.
“I’m human. We’re all human beings first and foremost.
“When you lose someone that you love it can kick you in the…if you really love somebody and they go, that’s hard.
“But you’ve got to try or you’ll crumble completely and other people will suffer. You’ve got to think about your family as well.”

Lily James unsure of marriage

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily James doesn’t know if she wants to get married.
The ‘Cinderella’ actress has been in a relationship with ‘The Crown’ star Matt Smith for around five years and she admits her feelings about tying the knot constantly change.
She said: “I’ve gone through different phases of wanting and not wanting to get married. I don’t know where I sit with it now. What matters is the relationship and how you feel about each other.”
Though the 29-year-old beauty didn’t want to discuss any plans to have children, she admitted she believes the “most important thing” in life is to share it with a family.
After Matt previously admitted he wants to start a family, Lily was asked if she would too and told the Sunday Times Style magazine: “I’m definitely not answering that. But I come from the most incredible family, so that means a lot to me. Eventually, sharing your life with a family is the most important thing.”
The couple currently rent a house in North London and though they are keen to “settle” in the city, the former ‘Downton Abbey’ star wants to relocate to the countryside eventually.
She said: “I do like looking at houses. London is so full-on, eventually I’d like to have a little place in the country. But that’s a few years away. I want to settle here first.”
After a hectic period in her career, the ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ actress recently took six months off and had a great time relaxing with her friends.
She said: “I’ve been slacking a bit. I live in north London, where there are some of the best pubs, and I like to go out and dance every so often.
“I just went out to Rowans, the bowling alley in Finsbury Park with karaoke booths, for a friend’s birthday and did some very bad singing of Cher songs with my mates. I’ve been in a long phase of not looking after myself, so now I’m getting myself together again.”

Jason Gardiner didn’t want experienced Dancing On Ice contestants

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Gardiner will be “more harsh” on ‘Dancing On Ice’ contestants with previous skating experience.
The 47-year-old choreographer admitted he is unimpressed that programme bosses have signed up the likes of former ‘EastEnders’ actor Richard Blackwood and Finnish singer Saara Aalto for the new series of the competition because he thinks they have an unfair advantage so will be expecting far more from them than their inexperienced rivals.
He admitted: “I struggle with it. If you can skate, it is an advantage. Ultimately what impresses me is a novice going from zero to hero.
“But I think if you’ve skated a bit – whether that be ice hockey, or you were born in Finland where you’ve come out the womb with ice skates on – is it as impressive? I expect a lot more from you and I will judge you more harshly, absolutely.”
The show judge also lashed out at ‘X Factor’ boss Simon Cowell, branding the programme’s former toughest panellist as “wet” and suggested his new nicer persona has harmed the singing contest in the ratings battle.
He told the Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Having never watched ‘Strictly’, I couldn’t comment on what Craig Revel Horwood’s work is like and Simon, from what I have seen, he’s a bit nice and wet. What viewers was it getting? Two million? Well, the figures speak for themselves.”
Meanwhile, Saara recently insisted she doesn’t have an advantage over other contestants on ‘Dancing On Ice’.
She said: “I grew up in Finland, so it’s cold in Finland, we have ice rinks outdoors. But we mainly go there with our parents and we just skate like children, so this is different.
“I have no advantage, I can tell you.
“This is so difficult, I have to be concentrating on every single muscle, and I’ve never done that before. It’s so difficult!”

Steve Carell offered villain parts

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Carell was inundated with offers to play “murderous villains” after his Oscar nomination.
The 56-year-old actor was shortlisted for Best Actor at the 2015 Academy Awards for his portrayal of sinister wealthy wrestling enthusiast John du Pont in ‘Foxcatcher’ and after previously being known for his comedic work, the drama led to him being offered very different movies, though not necessarily in the direction he wanted to take his career.
He said: “[I was inundated with scripts for] psychological thrillers, always with me as the murderous villain.
“So some doors certainly swung open. But they weren’t necessarily ones I wanted to go through.”
Steve’s next movie is ‘Beautiful Boy’, a father-and-son tale of drug addiction which is based on the memoirs of both David, who he plays, and the writer’s son, recovering addict Nic Sheff.
While the actor got to meet with the real David, just as when he spoke with fund manager Steve Eisman for his portrayal of a version of him in satire ‘The Big Short’, he found their conversations quite uncomfortable.
He explained to the Sunday Telegraph magazine: “It’s always odd, because you don’t want them to feel as if they’re some sort of science experiment. But at the same time, you don’t want to be cavalier.”
When it came to shooting ‘Beautiful Boy’, Steve – who has Annie, 18, and Johnny, 14, with wife Nancy – found it particularly difficult to film a scene where David cut Nic out of his life in a phone call.
He said: “That was particularly hard for me to wrap my head around. Because it goes against every fibre of your being as a parent.”

Robbie Williams wants Hugh Jackman duet

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams wants to duet with Hugh Jackman on his next album.
The ‘Let Me Entertain You’ hitmaker is reportedly planning a third installment of his swing LP series to coincide with his upcoming Las Vegas residency and thinks the ‘Greatest Showman’ actor would be the perfect duet partner.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “Robbie has the wheels in motions to plot out another swing album.
“The tie in with Las Vegas is obvious, especially given his favourite crooners such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin enjoyed mammoth success there.
“If he gets this right, it really could be the beginning of him cracking the US market after so long. The idea of Hugh and Robbie on stage together would be dynamite.”
And Robbie also has a host of other big screen stars he’s keen to get involved in the project, such as Sacha Baron Cohen, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Reese Witherspoon and Zooey Deschanel.
The source added: “A duet with Sacha on a funny number would be amazing and a tune with a Vegas great like Tony Bennett could be enormous.
“It is exciting times as he formulates ideas and track listings for the album.”
The 44-year-old singer’s first swing album, 2001’s ‘Swing When You’re Winning’, featured collaborations with the likes of Nicole Kidman, Jane Horrocks, and Jon Lovitz, as well as a posthumous duet using a recording of Sinatra, while his 2013 record ‘Swing Both Ways’ saw guest appearances from Michael Bublé, Kelly Clarkson and Rufus Wainwright.
And the former Take That star later admitted there were movie stars he’d been eyeing for the second record that had been too busy to get into the recording studio with him, but he hoped he could get them involved in a future album.
He said: “There were a few people I wanted that were busy working on films that I might get next time. But at the top of my list were the people on the record, and I was lucky to get them all.”

Cardi B and Offset back together?

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B and Offset are working on their marriage.
The couple – who split up at the end of last year – are reportedly trying hard to rekindle their romance for the sake of their daughter Kulture.
According to TMZ, Offset has vowed to Cardi that he will change his ways whilst the ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker has been missing what they had.
Cardi has yet to put her wedding ring back on but sources close to the couple say she isn’t quite ready emotionally to do so.
Rumours that the pair had got back together were rife at the end of last month when they were seen holidaying in Puerto Rico.
A source said at the time: “Cardi B wants Offset to be a part of Kulture’s life and wants him to spend Christmas with his daughter. It’s Kulture’s first Christmas and it means a lot to Cardi to have the family together … She plans to spend time and celebrate the holiday [in the Dominican Republic].”
Offset has made a number of public gestures to get Cardi back, with the most recent one when he crashed his ex’s set at Rolling Loud festival in Los Angeles, along with a huge ‘Take Me Back Cardi’ sign made out of white and red roses. Although she rejected his apology, he still thinks it was the right thing to do.
He tweeted recently: “All of my wrongs have been made public, i figure It’s only right that my apologies are made public too. A n***a was just trying …..thank god I ain’t got no balloons sheeesh (sic)”
And Cardi previously shared plans to “reset” in 2019.
She said: “Everything is good! I’m very excited for 2019 – I just feel like it’s going to be a reset. 2018 was the good, bad, and the ugly year, a lot of good, a lot of bad, a lot of ugly all mixed together.”

Penn Badgley’s meditation secret

OHMYGOSSIP — Penn Badgley uses “prayer and meditation” to fight back against trolls.
The ‘Gossip Girl’ credits the practice to keeping him positive, even when he is being sent mean messages on social media sites like Twitter.
Asked how he avoids being weighed down by the negative comments on social media, he told Da Man magazine: “Lots of prayer and meditation. This is true for all things. Prayer and meditation are foundations of living.”
Meanwhile, Penn recently called for better representation of different ethnic groups in movies and television.
He said: “If anybody exists at any kind of intersection of oppression beyond the box of white male, I’d say let’s make damn sure that they’re being represented by the people who have lived this experience [and] not have people who haven’t lived the experience portraying them. Because then at the end of the day you’re getting a real portrayal … In reality, we have basically, like, privileged ass white people playing everybody, and so we need to stop that. In theory, in a totally just society, yeah, anybody can play anybody and that would be great. But that’s not the world we live in. We live in a world that does not recognise virtually anyone outside of the white male or the beautiful white woman who has to be an object of desire and affection.”

Soulja Boy is doing OK after bad car accident

OHMYGOSSIP — Soulja Boy is doing well after being “involved in a very bad car accident”.
The ‘Kiss Me Thru the Phone’ hitmaker took to Twitter to reveal he is alright after getting caught up in the flash floods and mud slides in Malibu over the weekend.
Alongside praying hand emojis, he wrote: “Was involved in a very bad car accident last night due to a flash flood and mud slide … My car got stuck too almost went into the ocean.”
Drivers were told to stay off the roads after flash flood warnings were issued in southern California as well as the areas of Malibu, Agoura Hills, Oak Park and Westlake Village – which were all hit by the Woolsey fire recently. The Pacific Coast Highway had also been shut in both directions on Saturday night (05.01.19) because of the mudslides.
The flash floods and mudslides deal another blow to southern California after it was hit by wildfires in November. Kim Kardashian West was just one celebrity that had to be evacuated from her home.
She wrote at the time: “Pray for Calabasas. Just landed back home and I had one hour to pack up and evacuate our home. Pray everyone is safe. They’re evacuating everyone now from all of our homes … Fire fighters are arriving. Thank you for all that you do for us!!! (sic)”
It was later confirmed on the City of Calabasas Twitter page that they were evacuating everyone in the area, and nearby Hidden Hills and Agoura Hills, where many celebrities reside, as the fire had spread to “over 2,000 acres with 0% containment”.
An update read: “The #Woolsey Fire has grown to over 2,000 acres with 0% containment. @LACoFD has ordered a mandatory evacuation in all areas north of the 101 freeway from Valley Circle to Lindero Cyn. A voluntary evacuation remains in effect for Calabasas areas south of the 101 (sic)”

Saoirse Ronan warned about Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — Saoirse Ronan was “warned” she would find it hard to get acting jobs when she turned 18.
The ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ star – who found fame as a child – was told it would be trickier to find movies to star in as she got older because there is no “interesting” roles out there for young women.
She told Deadline: “For me I think it was a slightly different thing because I started when I was young, so there wasn’t that pressure. But one of the things that I did experience during my teenage years, and every female warned me, ‘When you get to about 18, the roles just stop and nothing comes in and there will be nothing interesting out there.’ And they were right.
“I definitely had a few years where I just didn’t work, really. I did little things, which was great. Or I took smaller parts, which I absolutely loved, and was so happy to do them. But, I made the decision to basically not work at all instead of taking something on that I didn’t believe in. Having said that, I was very lucky that I could do that because I was a kid and didn’t have bills to pay, or kids to look after, or any of that sort of stuff. But that was definitely something I experienced.”
Meanwhile, Saoirse recently spoke of her pride at being part of a female revolution in Hollywood as a result of the Time’s Up movement.
She said: “There is a female revolution going on right now. We’re just at a point where you can’t escape and we have to do something about it, on both sides – men and women. I can see in our industry that so many women have come together to actively pursue civil rights and create a safer and fairer environment. We’ve gone from saying, ‘Yes, we really need to make a change and we’ve all got to stick together’ to, ‘Oh f**k, we really need to make a change.’ Now more than ever, feminism is at the core of my life.”

Brie Larson is diligent secret-keeper

OHMYGOSSIP — Brie Larson learned to be a “diligent secret-keeper” when working on ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
The 29-year-old actress – who plays Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, in the superhero franchise – says she had to mentally “delete” the plot line of the movie to avoid spoiling it for the fans and even refused to tell her family.
She told USA Today: “I just never wanted to feel like I was going to slip up or that I was going to say the wrong thing. I was like, ‘I can’t live with myself being the one that spoils something.’ So I really just deleted it. I tried my best to journal it if I want to recall it and go, ‘Oh yeah, that was a crazy time.’ And I’m excited when the movie comes out to finally be able to talk about it and go, ‘Yes, this was crazy.’ But my family doesn’t know. I haven’t talked to anybody about anything because I’m just a very diligent secret-keeper.”
Meanwhile, Brie previously revealed she did “nine months” of training for ‘Captain Marvel’.
She shared: “I did nine months of just training, training, and three months of stunt training with the stunt team where we spent two hours every day, five days a week. It wasn’t until we started shooting and I started doing all my own wirework, stunts and flips and stuff that people were like, ‘You know, nobody… now we’ll tell you; nobody actually does this.’ I was like, ‘Huh.’ But I love it. It definitely makes things more complicated in certain ways because I can be taking a lot more naps than I am.”
