Olly Murs wants to use his success to help other hopefuls

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Voice’ coach Olly Murs visits his old employers every year to thank them for helping him achieve his dreams of becoming a pop star.
The ‘Wrapped Up’ hitmaker had been working as a recruiter at Essex-based recruitment agency Prime Appointments for five years when he auditioned for ‘The X Factor’ back in 2009, going on to finish as the runner-up behind winner Joe McElderry.
Olly, 34, has gone on to be one of Britain’s most successful singers but he has never forgotten his past and he always goes to see his former bosses at the office every Christmas time because he will never forget the people who supported him on his journey.
It his own talent show journey that Olly believes makes him the favourite to be the coach of this year’s winner of ‘The Voice’.
In an appearance on ITV daytime show ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (01.04.19), he said: “This time 10 years ago I was doing call centre work and now I’m giving people advice on ‘The Voice’, a pretty crazy 10 years. It’s been awesome, it’s been amazing, I just want to thank everyone at home for voting for me. I always go back every year to my old recruitment company in Essex. Prime Appointments. I always pop down at Christmas and say hello to all the staff and my old bosses. I’ve had a great 10 years but it’s more the fans, they’ve kept me here so thank you very much.”
“I never thought I’d be judging if you had told me then I would have thought it was a wind up. For me it’s come full circle to be able to go back and give people the chance I had. This year I’ve been able to work with two incredible finalists and that’s the reason why I took the job, that’s why I wanted to do it.”
Olly has two acts in the final, Molly Hocking and Jimmy Balito, and they are up against Sir Tom Jones’ two hopefuls, Bethzienna and Deana.
The winner will be crowned on the show this coming Saturday (06.04.19) which airs from 8:40pm on ITV.

Claire King bought Spain house to avoided fan recognition

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire King moved to a remote part of Spain because she was being “recognised a lot”.
The ‘Emmerdale’ legend has recently reprised her role as Kim Tate on the ITV soap, and while she is enjoying being back in the Dales, she doesn’t always like being spotted while out and about off-screen.
Claire – who has a four-bedroom villa in southern Spain – said: “I do get recognised a lot, which is one of the reasons I chose a place so remote.”
The 57-year-old star has also managed to keep her partner of 11 years out of the spotlight, admitting he has “absolutely no interest” in show business.
She said: “My partner has nothing to do with the showbiz industry and he has absolutely no interest in being part of it.”
The former ‘Bad Girls’ star admits she was apprehensive about re-joining the soap because of the “cutting” comments that can do the rounds on social media, but feels at home on the programme.
She added to OK! magazine: “I was nervous about doing the role justice again. A lot has changed since I’ve been away. Everybody’s a critic now thanks to social media and some of the comments can be very cutting.
“Everyone is still as friendly and welcoming as they’ve ever been though. I know it’s cheesy, but it felt like going home.”
Claire – who initially starred as Kim from 1989 to 1999 – admits she had opportunities to return to the Dales before making a brief comeback last year, followed by this year’s return, but it was “never right”.
She recently said: “It is one of those things that has been mentioned a few times over the last 20 years, since leaving, it was never right.
“I thought, just now, this time it feels right.”
Following her first ‘Emmerdale’ stint, Claire starred on ‘Coronation Street’, playing Erica Holroyd on the rival soap between 2014 and 2017.

Olly Murs burst blood vessel in his vocal cords

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs has to protect his voice after bursting a blood vessel in his vocal cords three years’ ago.
The ‘Troublemaker’ hitmaker suffered the worrying injury whilst singing out loud to the radio whilst he was driving his car and he was left with painful bruising all down one side of his throat which made it too painful for him to sing.
Now he’s made a recovery, Olly has to make sure he doesn’t do too much shouting and singing when he’s not working so his voice is in its best condition when he needs it for recording and touring but he finds it tough because he’s a naturally loud person.
In an interview on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (01.04.19), he said: “I burst a blood vessel in my vocal cords about three years ago, it was something on the radio and I was in my car driving and singing along and screaming and I just remember thinking, ‘That doesn’t feel good.’ I went and got checked out and I found out that literally one side of my throat was all bruised and black. I do have to be careful now, but I’m terrible because I’m shouting and screaming all the time.”
To keep his voice strong, Olly – who shot to fame on ‘The X Factor’ in 2009 – does a number of vocal exercises to strengthen what nature has given him.
He added: “I train my voice all the time, I hate it when singers say, ‘I don’t need to.’ ”
As well as training his voice, Olly also trains hard in the gym and he admits that since he started getting serious about exercising he has never felt better both physically and mentally.
‘The Voice’ coach said: “I’m always training. I want to look good all the time, I want the ladies to still like me, I’ve got to keep the hips still moving! When I was my ex-girlfriend I used to eat a lot. I’d be having Doritos on a Friday night, curry, Chinese food and after three or four months I just blew up. I remember my sister’s son Louis wanted to play with me and I couldn’t because I was so unfit and then I had a tour coming up so I thought, ‘I need to get fit for the tour.’ Now, I just love training, it’s really good for your mindset, I just love doing something.”

Kiefer Sutherland cried over ‘important’ dad

OHMYGOSSIP — Kiefer Sutherland “cried” when he realised how “important” his father was.
The ‘Designated Survivor’ actor didn’t see much of Donald Sutherland’s work when he was growing up, so once he was in his late teens, he made time to watch his dad’s back catalogue and was stunned by how much of a huge star he was.
He told The big Issue magazine: “Growing up, I didn’t have much contact with my father. And I couldn’t go to the movie theatre to see ‘MASH’ or ‘1900’, or Fellini’s ‘Casanova’ – they were adult films. Then when I was 18 they started bringing out video tapes and I sat down and watched his films.
“They were extraordinary…And the one I liked best, what’s it called, the red coat movie.. ‘Don’t Look Now’!
“And I called him up and I actually cried on the phone, I was so embarrassed that I didn’t know what an important actor he was. And I considered myself a serious actor.
“So that was very embarrassing and I apologised for that and he was so sweet, he said ‘Oh my God, that’s okay, it’s not your fault, how would you know?’ ”
While the 52-year-old star – who has daughter Sarah from his marriage to Camelia Kath – feels very lucky, he admits he has “screwed up a bunch” over the years and really wishes he’d relaxed more when he was younger.
He said: “I would have enjoyed my twenties a lot more, I’d have had much more fun, if I hadn’t been so worried about what was coming next…
“Being in a film like ‘The Lost Boys’. We took it too seriously and we didn’t enjoy the moments. The luckiest, most exciting moments anybody ever could possibly have. And we just didn’t see it.
“I’ve really loved my life and I’d have no problem living it backwards. I’ve screwed up a bunch – I wish I’d had more time with my daughter growing up – but I really do consider myself one of the luckiest people on the planet…”

Pierce Brosnan pays tribute to late band Her’s

OHMYGOSSIP — Pierce Brosnan has paid tribute to band Her’s following the duo’s tragic death in a car crash last week.
The Liverpool-born pair, Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading, were travelling from Arizona to a gig in Santa Ana, California, when they were involved in a fatal road traffic accident along with their tour manager Trevor Engelbrektson.
The former James Bond actor made the tribute after learning that the band – who were big fans of his work – would often perform on a stage with a cardboard cut-out of him by their side.
Pierce, 65, wrote on his Instagram account: “My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the families of Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading who comprised the band “Hers” as well as Trevor Engelbektson the band manager of “Hers”.
“It was with a heavy heart that my son Paris told me of their tragic deaths, how he loved their music and that he was looking forward to seeing them when they came out to LA.
“He told me they were fans of mine in the most playful of ways, and showed me a video of them saying they too were looking forward to hanging out with me when they got to Malibu.
“I never knew these lads or their music till just now, but their music will be forever in my heart. Check out the video of them on Ladybird lake Austin Texas.”
As well as their cardboard cut-out of Pierce the late pair also used a drum machine in their live sets that they named after the suave 007 star.
Her’s released their debut album ‘Invitation To Her’s’ in August 2018, which followed up their 2017 compilation ‘Songs Of Her’s’.
Stephen and Audun first met as students in Liverpool, and they were on a 19-show tour across North America.
In the wake of the accident, the band’s label Heist or Hit released a statement that read: “We are all heartbroken. Their energy, vibrancy and talent came to define our label. As humans, they were warm, gentle and hilarious. Each time they stopped by the office made for an uplifting experience.
“They were in America playing to thousands of adoring fans. Fans they made a point of meeting and spending time with, such was their passion and humbleness. The world was at their feet.”

Ed O’Neill – who plays Jay Pritchett in the award-winning ABC sitcom – has teased his character could be jetting off to Barranquilla for the show’s 11th and final season with his on-screen wife Sofia Vergara, 46, who was born in the South American country but moved to Miami, Florida to pursue a modelling career.
Speaking on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, he said: “I think we may go on a trip, we may go to Colombia – where Sofia [Vergara] is from. Barranquilla, or something like that – it sounds something like that, and it’s supposed to be very beautiful. Its been great.”
Ellen quipped: “That would be amazing. And then your character wouldn’t understand anything that anyone is saying.”
The ‘Married… With Children’ star will be turning 73 later this month but he’s not looking forward to his birthday because “time goes too fast”.
Ellen asked: “Do you like birthdays?”
Ed replied: “Oh my god no, I mean I did when I was 12, but I don’t anymore. The whole thing with time, you know, people say ‘Enjoy your kids before you know it they’re grown’. It goes fast anyway! No matter what you do it goes fast.”
Ed – who has two children Claire, 23 and Sophia, 20 with his wife Catherine Rusoff – also explained that his daughter became “upset” with him when he kissed co-star Dylan O’Brien, in Jordan Peele’s much-anticipated YouTube series ‘Weird City’ because she has a “crush” on the ‘Maze Runner’ actor.
He added: “In the story we kiss, and [Sophia] had to witness this and was very upset. But it was me and not her.”
Ellen replied: “What are the odds of an actor you have a crush on kisses your dad?”
O’Neal added: “Really good kisser.”
Ellen said: “That’s important.”

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson rekindle romance?

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have reportedly rekindled their romance.
The Duke and Duchess of York – who have daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie together – have remained close friends since their divorce in 1996, and it seems they’ve now decided to give their romance another chance as they’ve gotten back together, ITV reports.
Rumours of a reconciliation were ignited last weekend when Sarah – who is also known as Fergie – joined Prince Andrew after he completed a number of official royal visits overseas, and the pair enjoyed a private visit to Bahrain, where they were official guests of the Bahrain Crown Prince.
This outing marked the first time the Duchess of York has been on a foreign royal visit with the Duke for 25 years.
Sarah later took to social media to express that she was enjoying what she called “family time”, as the couple were joined by their daughter Beatrice.
The trio attended the Bahrain Grand Prix and Sarah posted about the outing on her Instagram account, where used the hashtag “#familytimes”.
She wrote: Such a joy to be invited to attend the Bahrain Grand Prix with @hrhthedukeofyork and Beatrice. Excited to meet @frankiedettori_ #familytimes @f1 #luckyme (sic)”
Meanwhile, Sarah admitted in November that she and Andrew are “the happiest divorced couple in the world”.
She said: “We’re the happiest divorced couple in the world. We’re divorced to each other, not from each other. We both say it. We are completely compatible. Our bywords are communication, compromise and compassion.
“[Our wedding on] July 23, 1986 was the happiest day of my life. Andrew is the best man I know. What he does for Britain is incredible; no one knows how hard he works for his country.”
And when asked at the time if they’d consider remarriage, she added: “So many people have asked me that, but we’re so happy with the way we are right now. We enjoy each other’s company; we allow each other to blossom. I know it sounds like a fairy tale but that’s the way we are.”

Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake set for WWE Hall of Fame

OHMYGOSSIP — Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake is set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
The 61-year-old semi-retired professional wrestler will join the likes of D-Generation X, The Honky Tonk Man, Harlem Heat, and Torrie Wilson during WrestleMania 35 later this month, when they will all be entered into the history books as they get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Beefcake first arrived in WWE in late 1984 with a male stripper gimmick, before finding his first major success as a tag-team wrestler, teaming with fellow Hall of Fame inductee Greg ‘The Hammer’ Valentine to make up The Dream Team.
Together, the pair dethroned the British Bulldogs in August 1985 to capture the World tag titles.
Beefcake earned his ‘Barber’ title in 1987 when he aided “Rowdy” Roddy Piper in defeating Adrian Adonis, and ended up shearing Adonis’ platinum locks off.
Since that victory, Beefcake began to take to the ring with a pair of hedge clippers in hand, and immediately became a fan favourite with the WWE fans, dishing out plenty more post-match haircuts along the way.
But Beefcake’s life was changed forever when a parasailing accident in 1990 left him needing reconstructive surgery with titanium plates, screws and steel wire to repair extensive damage done to his face.
He made a miraculous comeback to the ring in 1991 after his surgery, and came back for a second time in 1993 wearing a protective mask, where he teamed up with long-term friend Hulk Hogan to beat Money Inc at WrestleMania IX.
Beefcake will enter the Hall of Fame with the other inductees during WrestleMania 35, which takes place at the Barclays Centre in New York City on April 6.

Anna Faris ‘struggles’ with the idea of marriage

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Faris “struggles” with marriage on a “feminist level”.
The 42-year-old actress was previously married to Chris Pratt – with whom she has six-year-old son Jack – for eight years before their 2017 split, and to Ben Indra from 2004 to 2007.
And although she’s now in a relationship with cinematographer Michael Barrett, Anna isn’t sure she wants to get married again, because she finds the “legal system” involved in tying the knot to be in conflict with her views as a feminist.
When asked by Laura Wasser for her ‘Divorce Sucks!’ podcast if there were “wedding bells” in the future for her and Michael, the ‘Mom’ star said: “I will say I believe in love and monogamy and I believe in the commitment with a relationship. But I do struggle, having gone through it a couple of times now, Laura, with the idea of our legal system. I struggle with that on kind of a feminist level.”
This isn’t the first time Anna has spoken of her reluctance to walk down the aisle for a third time, as she said last month that she didn’t understand the “purpose” of marriage.
She said: “I need to figure out what the purpose is. Is it safety for your children? Is it convention? Is it so other people respect your relationship more? For me, I’m just not quite sure where it fits. I am a romantic. I believe in a partnership, I believe in companionship. I just don’t know if I believe in a ceremony of a wedding.”
Despite her own reservations about marriage, her former partner Chris is now engaged to his new beau Katherine Schwarzenegger, and Anna couldn’t be happier for the couple.
Speaking about the new romance, she said: “So, he was so sweet, as he always is. He called me, like, ‘So, I’m going to ask Katherine to marry me. I just wanted to give you a heads-up.’ … I was like, ‘That’s awesome!’ and I told him that I was an ordained minister.”

Birdman wants his face tattoos removed

OHMYGOSSIP — Birdman wants to remove his face tattoos.
The 50-year-old music mogul – whose real name is Bryan Williams – has a host of inkings all over his face, including tear drops, music notes, and a cross at the centre of his forehead, and he’s now said he’d love to be rid of all his facial decoration, and has even spoken to close pal 50 Cent for advice on where to get the removal procedure done.
He said: “I didn’t want to take the [head tattoos] off, but I want to take the facials off. And I was asking my partner, 50 [Cent]… ’cause he removed his tattoos. So I wanted to go to somebody who can take these tats off my face.”
Although, Birdman says he isn’t opposed to keeping the art on his face if he can’t have it removed.
Speaking on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’, he said: “If I have to live with it, I will. I just felt like, me being older, I would like to get it off. But if not, it is what it is.”
During his appearance on the show, the Cash Money co-founder also confirmed he and his girlfriend Toni Braxton have reconciled after their engagement ended at the start of this year.
Birdman was speaking about his finances to the show’s host, when he said that he has “enough money” to set Toni up for life.
He said: “If she had and will have any problems, I have enough money where she’ll never have a problem.”
The couple sparked rumours of a reconciliation at the end of January just three weeks after Toni hinted she had ended their engagement, when they shared a long embrace during Toni’s concert in Atlanta.
An eyewitness said: “In person, it seemed that Toni Braxton and Birdman had definitely reconciled – but it was hard to tell if his appearance at her show was actually a surprise, or if Toni knew he was there ahead of time.
“Toni didn’t appear shocked to some members of the audience, because she looked right over in that direction before Birdman walked out.”

Bebe Rexha: Guys can’t handle me

OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha claims she “breaks” every guy she dates.
The 29-year-old pop star thinks people find her intimidating because she is so outspoken in her life and career and says that guys can’t handle her because they get nervous about what she might say about them.
Speaking to Nylon, she shared: “I feel like everyone’s scared of me, guys and girls. Because I like to say things, and they’re scared I’m going to say something about them.
“Sometimes I get nervous, and I say stupid things. I’ll come off really hard. Guys especially, they can’t handle me. I break every guy.”
The ‘Meant To Be’ hitmaker also admits she hates going on dates and she prefers to just hang out casually with guys rather than do something conventional.
One potential suitor was surprised when Bebe dismissed his date plans and asked if they could just buy some Lotto Scratch-Offs and chill.
She said: “I have a weird thing. Guys try to take me on dates, and I don’t do dates. I don’t like being so intimate with people watching. I’m the person [who] when I go to a restaurant and someone’s on a date … oh my god! I’m the biggest eavesdropper! I start giving everyone at my table the head’s up, like, ‘They don’t like each other, she went into the bathroom.’
“A guy took me out one time and I was like, ‘Can we just get scratch-offs?’ Scratch-offs are my favourite. It’s all I do, I love it.”
Bebe doesn’t identify as straight as she is attracted to people’s energies regardless of what gender they are.
She said: “If I want to make out with someone, I’ll just make out with them. I don’t care who you are. I’m big on energies.”
Bebe admits she feels very “masculine” in her day-to-day life because of how she handles her music career and she does sometime dream of going home to a partner who would just take care of her.
She said: “Sometimes I feel like I’m so masculine in my everyday life and when I go home, I would like to not have to keep this wall up. Go home and let it all loose. Have somebody take care of me, because I feel like I’m taking care of everyone around me. I would like to be taken care of. It’s really hard.”

Sandra Bullock selling Georgia home

OHMYGOSSIP — Sandra Bullock is selling her Georgia home for $6.5 million.
The ‘Bird Box’ star is waving goodbye to her sprawling beach front estate in Tybee Island, Georgia, for the whopping sum, according to Celia Dunn of Sotheby’s International Realty, who holds the listing.
Sandra’s property is located just 20 minutes outside of Savannah, and is a two-residence compound situated on approximately 2.75 acres, with an impressive seven bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms.
According to Variety magazine, Sandra, 54, purchased the property in segments between June 2001 and March 2002 for more than $4.5 million, and combined them into the current estate.
The main home comes with four bedrooms located in a 3,360-square-foot space, as well as a gourmet kitchen, multiple screened porches, a private home gym, and a basketball court.
It also has access to an in-ground pool, and its own pathway down to the beach.
The guest house has three bedrooms, and includes its own game room, outdoor grill, and a rooftop space with ocean views.
According to the listing, the home will be sold fully furnished, except for a few of Sandra’s personal mementos, meaning the lucky buyer will get all of the actress’ furniture as well as the stunning property.
The sale of the Georgia beach estate only puts a small dent in Sandra’s real estate empire though, as alongside her primary Beverly Hills residence, the ‘Oceans 8’ star also owns over a dozen residential properties across the US, including more than six homes in the vicinity of Austin, Texas.
Variety claims Sandra owns two condos in West Hollywood, a log cabin near Jackson Hole, Wyoming, a townhouse in New York, and a Victorian-style house in New Orleans.

Billie Lourd pays tribute to Debbie Reynolds

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Lourd has paid tribute to her late grandmother Debbie Reynolds on what would have been her 87th birthday.
The ‘Singing In The Rain’ star tragically died just days after her daughter – and Billie’s mother – Carrie Fisher in December 2016, and to mark what would have been her birthday on Monday (01.04.19), the 26-year-old actress took to Instagram to post a sweet tribute.
Billie posted a picture of herself as a child with her mother and grandmother, and wrote the caption in the signature all-emoji style that ‘Star Wars’ star Carrie used to use, and which Billie has adopted for many of her posts since her mother’s passing.
The caption read: “Happy birthday abadaba,” which is a nickname Billie had for her grandmother.
Meanwhile, the ‘Booksmart’ actress opened up in 2017 about the struggles of coping with the tragic loss of her family members, which she said were “impossible to deal with”.
She said at the time: “It’s completely surreal. There’s no way to really explain it – it’s so hard to talk about. If I say I’m doing good, I’m too happy. If I say I’m not doing good, then I’m a mess. So it’s really hard to know what to say about it because it’s so surreal and impossible to deal with.”
And Billie later admitted her mother’s sense of humour had helped her get through the tough time that followed her passing.
She said: “If life’s not funny, then it’s just true – and that would be unacceptable. Even when she died, that was what got me through that whole thing. When Debbie died the next day, I could just picture her saying, ‘Well, she’s upstaging me once again, of course – she had to.’ ”

Kevin Hart wants one more child

OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Hart is going to have “one more” child.
The 39-year-old actor and comedian already has Heaven, 14, and Hendrix, 11, with his ex-wife Torrei Hart, as well as 16-month-old son Kenzo with his wife Eniko Parrish, but he’s said he and Eniko are planning on having one more child to complete their family before “throwing in the towel”.
He said: “We’re going to do one more and then we’re going to throw in the towel after thatOne more is enough – that’s a loud house. We have a loud one already between the kids and the dogs. So I think adding one more will really complete the Hart family circle and we’ll be done there. That’s it.”
And the ‘Night School’ star could see his wife fall pregnant as early as this summer, as that’s when they want to start trying.
He added: “We’re probably going to start trying over the summer. Kenzo is 16 months now, so I feel that’s the perfect gap. That’s almost a two-year window in between, and he’ll be walking, talking a little bit. I’ll take some time off and be around a little more, so we’re trying to plan it out strategically.”
Kevin’s older kids are at an age where they understand what their dad does for a living, and the ‘Upside’ actor says his daughter Heaven has her sights set on following in his footsteps.
Speaking to USA Today, he said: “They understand what their dad does for a living and they both love comedy. My daughter wants to actually follow in my footsteps and be a comedic actress. She’s looking forward to that time when she’s out of school and done being a kid, where she can embrace it. And my son loves to laugh. They both have watched me sneakily several times while coming and hanging out on tour, which is very funny to me. But, you know, nothing’s ever malicious. It’s all in fun and it’s never hurtful.”
