Carrie Fisher’s dog retires to Florida

OHMYGOSSIP — Carrie Fisher’s dog Gary has retired to Florida.
The ‘Star Wars’ actress passed away at the age of 60 in December 2016, and since then her beloved pet has been living with Carrie’s former assistant Corby McCoin.
Gary has his own Instagram page, and Corby recently updated the dog’s 189,000 followers to let them know he’s now living in sunny Florida, after a stint in New York.
Alongside a picture of the mutt chilling on the beach, he wrote: “Just wanted to check in and say it has been 2 years and I miss my mom everyday. I tried New York after LA and decided the beach is much better. Hello Florida and the new adventure begins #garymisseshismom #garyloveshismom #garyloveshisfans #garyfisher #frenchiesofinstagram #garyindestinflorida2019 #garysnewadventures (sic)”
Carrie’s half-sister Joely Fisher revealed last year that the Gary was still pining after her.
However, though the canine still mopes about because he misses Carrie – who played Princess Leia in the sci-fi franchise – the pooch perked up during his daily visits from Joely.
She said: “They were very, very close. I truly believe that he recognises that she is not here. But it’s funny. When I started spending time with him, we have a similar timber in our voice so when I say ‘Gary’, like Carrie would have, he looks.”
The ‘Til Death’ actress added: “I see Gary every day and he’s doing great. He’s a really great dog. He’s on my Instagram almost every day too, so people can go check him out there. He’s a very special animal.”
Gary acted as a therapy dog for Carrie as she dealt with bipolar disorder.
It was previously revealed Gary found comfort in watching ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’.
Corby took the canine to watch Carrie’s last performance as General Leia Organa in the eighth instalment of the sci-fi franchise at the cinema in December 2017.
ABC News reporter Veronica Miracle shared the news on Twitter, when she wrote: “The late @carrieffisher’s dog Gary just watched #TheLastJedi! He sat on Fisher’s former assistant’s lap during the film. She said his ears perked up every time she was on screen @starwars @ABC7 (sic)”
Gary will be able to see his late owner again in ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’, as she has been given a significant arc story through unreleased footage of the star.
The late actress’ brother, Todd Fisher, 60, recently spilled that ‘Episode IX’ helmer J.J. Abrams managed to create a conclusion for Leia woven into the Skywalker saga by masterfully including the unused clips that were originally shot for ‘Episode VII – The Force Awakens’.
He said: “There’s a lot of minutes of footage. I don’t mean just outtakes. This is unused, new content that could be woven into the storyline. That’s what’s going to give everybody such a great kick. It’s going to look like it was meant to be. Like it was shot yesterday.”
Todd isn’t allowed to reveal any details of his sister’s ‘Star Wars’ swansong but he insists he and the rest of the family, including Carrie’s daughter Billie Lourd, are very happy with what Abrams, 52, has done.
He added: “We’re not allowed to talk about the details of anything. But we’re thrilled at what’s been done.”

Daniel Craig following ‘strict diet’ to get in shape for Bond 25

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Craig is reportedly avoiding alcohol and unhealthy food to get in shape for ‘Bond 25’.
The 50-year-old actor – who welcomed his first child, a baby girl, with wife Rachel Weisz in September – is refraining from eating anything bad for him as he prepares for his final stint as the suave spy in 2020.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the ‘Casino Royale’ star decided not to attend a recent BAFTA bash with his 48-year-old spouse – who has 12-year-old son Henry with Darren Aronofsky – and was avoiding the wine and canapés on offer at the Golden Globes, opting for water and a protein bar.
An onlooker told the tabloid: “Daniel was clearly adamant he wouldn’t be tempted by the alcohol, canapes, haute cuisine and desserts.
“On Saturday, Rachel attended the BAFTA party but he stayed in. Then at the Golden Globes, he preferred water to wine and was chewing a protein bar.”
He’s also reported to have turned down 007’s favourite beverage, a martini, shaken not stirred, at a Globes after-party.
The ‘Layer Cake’ star – who also has 27-year-old daughter Ella with ex-wife Fiona Loudon – previously revealed he discovered a failsafe hangover cure which he believes to be the “difference between life and death”.
He explained: “There’s this thing called Pedialyte. It’s basically a diuretic; you give it to kids who are dehydrated. If you wake up in the morning and you’ve got one of those on standby and you down the whole lot…you can carry on drinking!
“[I learned it from] Mark Wahlberg. Who I don’t know, but I was told that’s what Mark swears by. It’s the difference between life and death as far as I’m concerned.”
The ‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ actor “mourns” his days of going to pubs as fame makes it hard to go out drinking and find new places to socialise.
He said: “I mourn it slightly. I like to have a drink, and I love pubs and I love finding new pubs and places to socialise. But that has a limit on it now.”

Kate Wright details crippling battle with anxiety

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Wright has opened up about her crippling battle with anxiety and “self-love”.
The former ‘TOWIE’ star – who is engaged to retired footballer Rio Ferdinand – has made it her goal for 2019 to care less about what other people think and make herself her number one priority.
The 37-year-old beauty has also vowed to not be “scared” to share her personal struggles with the world on social media.
Kate took to Instagram recently to share the quote: “I’m obsessed with becoming a woman comfortable in her own skin.”
In a lengthy message to her followers, she captioned the post: “2019 goals
One of my New Years resolutions is to accept myself, something I struggle with.
“Anyone that knows me well knows I suffer with bad anxiety & really struggle to love myself. Most days are a battle with what’s going on in my head. I’ve sort of kept this off social media as I’ve been to scared to share it, and the less I shared the more distant instagram is from my daily life … that’s going to change this year. I’m going to give more of the ups and downs, not just the fun times.
This year I will not let society’s views on who I should be and what I should look like effect me.
I have been so busy making sure everyone else if ok that I have forgot about looking after myself properly …. This year I am working on me; mind, body, soul #selflove (sic)”
Kate and Rio officially started dating in 2017 and their relationship blossomed as ex-Manchester United player tried to rebuild his life following the death of his wife Rebecca Ellison at the age of just 34, due to breast cancer.
Speaking previously about their romance, Kate admitted she and the soccer pundit “just clicked” straight away.
She said: “Rio and I just clicked. I knew about the children and what had happened but at first I didn’t give it much thought. When you meet someone you’re just enjoying the moment, not thinking about how serious things might become.
“I fell in love with Rio, then I met the kids and fell in love with them. I realised, ‘Wow, my life is going to change.’ I couldn’t be part of his life and not part of theirs. I knew it would be a challenge, but if you love someone you go with it and deal with the difficult stuff.”
Kate also revealed that Rio’s kids with his late spouse – Lorenz, 12, Tia, seven, and 10-year-old Tate – all want her and their dad to have a baby together.
She said: “The kids would like a little brother or sister; they say, ‘I dreamt that you were pregnant.’ But right now we’re just happy with our little unit.”

Lindsay Lohan’s ‘friends’ with Kim Kardashian West after cornrows row

OHMYGOSSIP — Lindsay Lohan insists she is “friends” with Kim Kardashian West.
The ‘Freaky Friday’ star traded insults with the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star over the latter’s cornrows last year, but during a game of ‘Plead the Filth’ on ‘Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday (09.01.19), the 32-year-old actress said the pair have made up and were able to joke about their falling out.
She said: “I love Kim … I just was confused by the braids, We’re friends.”
The 38-year-old reality star had been accused of cultural appropriation after posting an image of her blonde braids on her Instagram account, and likened her hairstyle to that of Bo Derek, the actress who wore a similar braided hairstyle in the 1979 movie ’10’.
The controversy led her to clash with the ‘Mean Girls’ star, who admitted to being “confused” by Kim’s new look, after a photograph of her braids were shared by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.
But Kim – who has also posted a series of near-nude images that showed off her the temporary hairstyle – snapped back at Lindsay, mocking her for apparently adopting an unnatural accent when she started living overseas.
She wrote: “You know what’s confusing….. Your sudden foreign accent (sic)”
Lindsay addressed her accent change during the round of ‘Plead the Filth’, admitting that she can “pick things up very quickly”.
Kim also received support from her younger sister Khloe at the time.
The 34-year-old star tweeted: “I am squealing like a little pig looking at all of Kimberly’s Instagram’s from the day! Oh my God is she not sooooooo on fire right now? FEELING THE FANTASY (sic)”
Meanwhile, Lindsay also addressed reports she hooked up with ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star Jax Taylor in 2017.
She said: “Lisa (Vanderpump), I love you, but I’ve never met him.”
Lindsay’s denial that anything happened comes after Jax, 39, claimed something did go on between them.
Speaking in 2017, he said: “There was a little situation.
“It was at a nightclub, it just ended up back at her spot, it was what it was.”

Daniel Brocklebank hits back at Coronation Street troll

OHMYGOSSIP — Daniel Brocklebank has hit back at a Twitter troll who questioned why ‘Coronation Street’ doesn’t feature a pre-show “warning” before scenes involving “two blokes snogging”.
The ‘Corrie’ star’s character Billy Mayhew is currently involved in a romantic storyline with Gemma Winter’s (Dolly-Rose Campbell) convict brother Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), but one social media user has taken offence to the plot.
The troll, whose Twitter account has now been suspended, insisted he was “not too keen” on watching two male characters kissing, and said his 10-year-old relative had asked “why”.
He also said there are “warnings about swearing, but not two blokes snogging”.
Daniel – who is dating former Mr. Gay World in real life – replied: “Would you have the same opinion if it were a man & a woman kissing?
How sad that a 10 year old had to learn that relationships can come in many varieties from television. (sic)”
Some of Daniel’s ‘Corrie’ co-stars showed their support for him by commenting on the troll’s tweet.
Kate Ford – who plays Tracy Barlow – tweeted: “It’s simple really. I would tell your ten year old it’s because they are in love. I told my son this when he was 3 years old. It’s all good, don’t stress yourself (sic)”
Nicola Thorp (Nicola Rubinstein) wrote: “Here’s ma boi, putting homophobes in their place on the regs.
I wish he didn’t have to. (sic)”
Last year, some ‘Corrie’ viewers were outraged when character David Platt – played by Jack P. Shepherd – made homophobic remarks to Billy during an episode to impress a pal.
One Twitter user wrote: “What a despicable person. David I am ashamed at you for not helping Billy out and saying something to that guy. #Corrie (sic)”
Another posted: “How dare David Pratt treat our vicar in this manor #Corrie (sic)”
One shared: “Why is David being homophobic? What a p***k #corrie (sic)”

Shayne Ward helps Sally Ann Matthews’ smoke alarm issue

OHMYGOSSIP — Shayne Ward came to Sally Ann Matthews’ rescue by sending her a video of how to change a smoke detector battery after she appealed for help.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who portrays Jenny Connor – took to Twitter to ask for assistance because she was unable to remove the cover of her alarm, but fortunately she was helped out by her former co-star, as well as a fireman friend and two security guards.
She wrote on Twitter: “I’m a damsel (ish) in distress. Anyone know how to remove the cover so I can change the battery? x (sic)”
One of her pals, who is a fireman, sent Sally a number of tweets explaining how to do it.
He tweeted: “Lucky for you! You’ve just made friends with a firefighter! Haha the two clips at the side need pressing in simultaneously x
“Yes get a screwdriver in there and lever it open x …
“Then line the two triangles up to put in back on … (sic)”
Shayne – who previously portrayed Sally’s on-screen stepson Aidan Connor on the soap – also replied: “Did you sort it? If not I’ll FaceTime you and talk you through it x (sic)”
And she later thanked her pals while revealing two security guards had managed to carry out the task after Shayne and her fireman friend’s tweets.
She wrote: “When @shayneTward sends you a ‘how to’ video and your new fireman mate @aaronlp1 explains all and then two lovely Media City security guards do the muscle work, that’s when you change the battery in your smoke detector x (sic)”

Exorcist director brands sequel ‘worst film ever’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Exorcist’ director has branded its sequel a “f***ing disgrace”.
Filmmaker William Friedkin – who was at the helm for the original horror classic in 1973 – didn’t return for the sequel four years later and he has now insisted it’s the worst film he has “ever seen”.
Speaking on the ‘Movies that Made Me’ podcast, he ranted: “I tell you, I did see a great deal of ‘Exorcist II’, under the following circumstances. I was at the Technicolor lab, color timing something, and one of the timers said, ‘We just finished Exorcist II, would you like to have a look at it?’
“And I don’t know why, but I went into the room and I sat through maybe 40 minutes of it. It’s the worst piece of s**t I’ve ever seen. It’s a f***ing disgrace.
While Friedkin praised the cast – which saw the likes of Linda Blair and Max von Sydow reprise their roles as Regan MacNeil and Father Merrin from the original – he felt the second film disrespected William Blatty, who penned the novel used as source material for the big screen adaptation.
He added: “And God, what a cast it had — Richard Burton, and Max von Sydow, and Louise Fletcher, plus Linda Blair. James Earl Jones.
“That’s the worst 40 minutes of film I have ever seen, really, and that’s saying a lot.”
‘The Exorcist II’ had Academy Award nominee John Boorman at the helm alongside its stellar cast.
However, scriptwriter William Goodhart had only penned one movie before working on the sequel – and only wrote one afterwards.
Despite being panned by critics at the time – and since – it was followed by ‘The Exorcist III’ in 1990, while ‘The Exorcist: The Beginning’ (2004) and ‘Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist’ (2005) were all made to continue the franchise.

Ellie Bamber wants to be ‘moved’ by the roles she takes on

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Bamber just wants to be “moved” by her characters.
The ‘The Nutcracker and the Four Realms’ actress has enjoyed a diverse career to date – since the festive Disney blockbuster came out she has starred in BBC’s dramatic adaptation of ‘Les Miserables’ – and she admitted she has a very simple criteria when it comes to choosing her projects.
Speaking to Stylist magazine, she said: “I’m taken by a story and a character. I’ll read a script and if it touches me and moves me and makes waves, that’s why I’ll choose it.
“Like with Mandy [in upcoming drama ‘The Trial of Christine Keeler’], I thought she was just incredible. That’s my defence for any of the characters I play.”
Bamber, 21, has already taken on a number of varied roles, including India Hastings in dark 2016 thriller ‘Nocturnal Animals’ alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams.
Reflecting on the movie, she admitted: “I feel very lucky to have had that experience and to have worked with Jake. I mean come on – I was like, ‘F**k yeah!’ I respected him, Amy and [Isla Fisher] enormously. Isla was super cool.
“At the time of the film’s release, I saw a poster of ‘Nocturnal Animals’ in the Curzon cinema beside where I live and I was like, ‘Oh my god’. I felt really lucky to be part of it, so seeing it I thought, ‘Oh s**t!’ ”
For ‘Les Mis’, Bamber is joined by another talented cast featuring the likes of Josh O’Connor, Dominic West and ‘The Crown’ star Olivia Colman.
She added: “There is a moment [with us on screen together], yeah. A brief moment.
“I took the train back to London with Olivia and it was the most fun I’ve ever had on a Eurostar… with the Queen! We had a conversation about microwaving eggs. It was very silly.”

Cate Blanchett hopes new play will provoke conversation

OHMYGOSSIP — Cate Blanchett wants her new play to provoke conversation about equality and gender boundaries.
The 49-year-old actress is set to star in Martin Crimp’s latest work ‘When We Have Sufficiently Tortured Each Other’ – based on Samuel Richardson’s novel ‘Pamela’ – which follows the relationship between a young woman and her employer and explores themes of sexual domination and gender roles.
The ‘Oceans 8’ star said that her latest play channels impulses from the #MeToo movement and insisted that it is vital to create a piece for “the time you’re in” otherwise the project is futile.
In an interview with the Guardian, she said: “You make a piece for the time you’re in, otherwise it’s not relevant. What’s the point of doing it? I always see theatre as a provocation.
“You’re not up there running for office; you’re asking a serious of questions. Some people might be enraged, some perplexed, some people might be excited. Hopefully, it’s the conversation afterwards that’s the most important.”
The ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ actress also admitted how the play encompasses themes she’s been “thinking about for a long time”.
She explained: “A lot of the things the play brings up is stuff I’ve been thinking about for a long time. The boundaries of gender, how language constantly fails us and confines us, keeps us in paradigms and frameworks which are frustrating and confounding. ”
As for how Blanchett decided which roles are right for her, the Australian star said that “you always have to risk failure” when choosing a part.
She said:”If you read a work and you know what it is, I don’t know why you’d bother rehearsing it. You always have to risk failure.
“The more recognisable you are the more expectation there is around you, the harder it is to carve out that space. But you have to. ”

Natalie Cassidy ‘honoured’ to be running Marathon for Barbara Windsor

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalie Cassidy is “so honoured” to be running the London Marathon for Dame Barbara Windsor.
The ‘EastEnders’ star – who plays Sonia Fowler on the BBC One soap – is one of several Walford residents who have formed a running team, Barbara’s Revolutionaries, who are aiming to raise £100,000 by taking on the 26.2-mile race in support of the former ‘Enders’ actress, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2014.
Natalie wrote on Twitter: “I am so honoured to be one of Barbara’s revolutionaries. Thinking of the times I have shared with her will keep me running.”
The 35-year-old actress encouraged fans and viewers to donate “whatever you can” to Dementia Revolution, a year-long campaign from Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK, to help Barbara and similar sufferers.
She added: “For our Dame and every other person coping and living with this heartbreaking disease-please, donate whatever you can. (sic)”
At the time of writing, the team have already raised more than £29,000 of their £100,000 target.
Barbara’s husband Scott Mitchell will head up the team, which also features Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale), Jake Wood (Max Branning), Tanya Franks (Rainie Branning), Emma Barton (Honey Mitchell), Jamie Borthwick (Jay Brown), Jane Slaughter (Tracey the barmaid) and Kellie Shirley, who previously played Carly Wicks.
Scott recently admitted it is “heart-breaking” watching Barbara – who has been living with dementia for nearly five years – struggle on a daily basis.
He said: “Dementia can, and does, have a profound effect on daily life.
“It is heart-breaking for family and friends to watch a loved one struggle with day-to-day life and be slowly stripped of their memories.
“The same goes for the person living with dementia, who at times can feel confused, disorientated, frustrated and afraid. Sadly it has been no exception for Barbara.”
Jake tweeted: “So proud to be supporting dementia revolution with Barbara’s husband Scott & the team from Eastenders (sic)”

Brenda Blethyn feels comfortable playing Vera Stanhope

OHMYGOSSIP — Brenda Blethyn says she finds comfort in returning to the role of Vera Stanhope in ‘Vera’.
The 72-year-old actress – who has portrayed the Detective Chief Inspector on the ITV drama since 2011 – says that she feels at home whenever she gets back into costume to play the beloved role.
Appearing on ‘This Morning’ today (10.01.19), she said: “It’s like visiting an old family again. It’s a very comfortable place to be. The cast are great. Even all the supporting artists who work on it return to us time and time again.”
The ‘Secret & Lies’ actress also revealed she was delighted that she lived close to Kenny Doughty – who reprised his role as DS Aiden Healy last year – when they were filming the show.
She said: “He’s great! I just love Kenny. He even has to live near me while I’m working up there. He’s good news! And all the team, just great!”
In the past, Brenda has suggested the public have “embraced” ‘Vera’ because the titular character “tells the truth and has no pretensions”.
She previously said: “People have really embraced Vera because she’s good at her job, tells the truth and has no pretensions. She can be a bit caustic if people aren’t doing their jobs, but she can also be very kind.”
Brenda knows the character so well after playing her for such a long time, and she even buys clothes to wear on set when she’s out shopping.
She admitted: “I’ve got to know Vera well in the eight years I’ve been playing her. I know what she’d wear – so when I’m out shopping, if I see something for Vera, I’ll buy it. That old hat never changes, though.
‘Vera’ is set to return for a ninth series – consisting of four episodes – on January 13 on ITV.

Even Charlie Brooker can’t figure out Black Mirror’s secret ending

OHMYGOSSIP — Even Charlie Brooker doesn’t know how to get the secret ‘Black Mirror’ ending.
The creator of the bleak anthology series has opened up about new interactive film ‘Bandersnatch’ – which features multiple endings based on the viewer’s own choices – and admitted he can’t remember how to access a post-credits scene which shows Stefan (Fionn Whitehead) pulling a copy of his game out on the bus.
He told The Wrap: “Yeah, that is — I believe that is triggered by — so, if you have the ending where he’s on the train that will show you the end credits. And I’m not quite sure — we’re trying to remember ourselves.
“I think that is triggered by — it’s counting how many endings you’ve seen and how many paths you’ve gone down.
“So I think it’s either that you get it straight after the train or, if you haven’t yet done it, it will trigger if you’ve seen like four or five endings, I think. I think. There’s some bit of arcane kind of stuff it’s working out there.”
Meanwhile his co-showrunner Annabel Jones insisted while the pair can’t recall how it’s done now, they did have a better idea when it was released on December 28.
She added: “At the time we launched, we would have known — if that gives you any comfort and attempts for us to regain our professionalism.”
Brooker pointed out that the fact they can’t remember proves how “complicated” the entire project turned out to be.
He said: “That’s a good example of how complicated the whole thing got — that I can’t tell you how to trigger it.”

The gig comes at an exciting time for the 22-year-old Scottish star, who has supported the likes of Sam Smith and Niall Horan, as he’s about to embark on his biggest headline tour to date, which includes a stop at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on February 9.
Meanwhile, he recently hinted at a collaborate with ‘Slow Hands’ hitmaker Niall.
The latter is currently in “writing mode” in the studio working on songs for his follow-up to his debut solo LP ‘Flicker’, and the pair have been complimenting one another on Twitter of late, suggesting they’ve been spending some time together.
Lewis tweeted last month: “Niall Horan has the best smelling hair I’ve ever come across in my life.”
Whilst the One Direction star recently tipped Lewis to win the 2019 BRITs Critics’ Choice Award, which went to Sam Fender.
He joked: “If @LewisCapaldi doesn’t win the Brits critics choice award , I give up ! But at the same time if he gets anymore famous he won’t talk to us anymore.”

“The way someone who’s that successful and had done massive things on his own and with One Direction, to still be as humble as he is and as sound as he is is a big thing for me.
“You might get big and become an a**hole and there is no reason for it. He’s one of the biggest pop singers in the world and you can just sit with him in the pub. The way he treats people around him, no matter who they are, it’s all the same soundness. That’s all I took away from it.”

Stewart Copeland: Drummers deserve more credit

OHMYGOSSIP — Stewart Copeland insists drummers work “harder” than any other member of a band.
The 66-year-old percussionist was in the iconic British rock band The Police – who formed in London in 1977 – alongside lead singer Sting and guitarist Andy Summers, and the star has admitted he gets “frustrated” with how little credit sticksmen get, because they are the people to watch when you attend a concert as they he believes they bring the most “energy”.
Speaking to The Times newspaper, he said: “Why, then, do we need drummers? Because the drummer is the thing to watch when you got to a concert. Drummers add emotion and energy. We do get frustrated, though.
“There you are, about to go on stage, and the singer is wearing a cape with sequins. The guitarist has a hat and a cool leather jacket. But the drummer? Anything more than a T-shirt and I’ll be soaking wet. I’ve always assumed everyone is working just as hard as me, but last year I got to play guitar in a band and I got through a day of rehearsals without changing my T-shirt once.
“It is obvious to the rest of the band that the guy at the back is working harder than the rest of them put together, but in 50 years no musician has ever divulged this fact to me. Heaven forbid that you should give the poor drummer any encouragement!”
The ‘Every Breath You Take’ hitmakers last performed together on a worldwide tour in 2007, which ended in 2008.
Sting said in 2010, he didn’t want to rejoin the group because he found the music they were making was uninspiring.
At the time, he admitted: “It wasn’t easy. There was nothing new in it – no new songs, no new energy, no desire to take that as a platform and move somewhere else.”
Meanwhile, Copeland has told his own personal music journey in an upcoming three-part series on BBC Four, ‘On Drums… Stewart Copeland!’, that airs on Friday (11.01.19), and the drummer revealed his fond memory of meeting late ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker Prince’s iconic former drummer and ex-fiancee, Shelia E., who is one of his “favourite” legends.
He said: “Through making the film, I met a lot of my favourite drummers. One of them is Shelia E., who worked with Prince for many years. She talks about ghost beats, which are little light taps between the big betas.
“They go around and garnish the main event – you don’t hit the drum so much as drag the stick across the snare and then hit it. Often it is not an actual hit, but an intention: you create the feel of the hit. That brings us to a whole different world of drummer voodoo.”

Sam Fender ‘furious’ after catfish impersonates him on Tinder

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Fender is “f***ing furious” after a catfish setup a profile using his pictures on Tinder.
The 2019 BRITs Critics’ Choice winner took to Instagram on Wednesday (09.01.19) to shame the creator of the account on the dating app and to warn his fans about the fake profile after he was altered to it by a young girl who had been communicating with the catfish, and claimed to have been asked to send them pictures.
The ‘Poundshop Kardashians’ singer also revealed other fans had been talking with the impersonator, who he labelled “f***king scum”.
Sam shared the picture of him they’d use as the display picture and the bio, which read: “I play music for a living. So basically I’m skint and live in a van all year round.”
Hitting out at the unknown culprit, he fumed on Instagram: “Somebody contacted me to tell me that she’d been led on by a catfish of me on tinder. I’m f***ing furious. He’s asking girls for pictures and being a general piece of sh*t.
“Just letting people know that I am not on any dating apps or anything of the sort.
“If anyone comes across these accounts, report them. And if the lad who’s done this can see this, you’re f***ing scum. (sic)”

Primark to debut Rick and Morty clothing line

OHMYGOSSIP — Primark is set to debut a ‘Rick and Morty’ clothing line.
The retailer has partnered up with Cartoon Network Enterprises to create all featuring exclusive designs inspired by the hit adult animated show by Adult Swim, created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland.
The collection of menswear, womenswear, fashion accessories, homeware, drinkware, and bedding, will feature fan-favourite characters from the series such as Pickle Rick, Mr. Meeseeks, and Rick and Morty themselves.
The line will launch at Primark stores in the UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and the US on January 13th.
The collaboration with the Netflix programme will be celebrated with 40 of Primark’s stores featuring ‘Rick and Morty’ themed window displays as well as gifts with purchase and in-store competitions for fans.
This isn’t the first time the show was inspired a fashion line, and in 2017 the programme teamed up with Absolute Cult to release a clothing range.
The omni-channel retail brand released a series of t-shirts and jumpers – suitable for both men and women – also featuring unique designs of the eponymous characters.
The critically acclaimed animated series, ‘Rick and Morty’, which hit screens in 2013, follows a sociopathic genius scientist called Rick, who drags his inherently timid grandson Morty on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe.
The show originated from a short parody film of ‘Back to the Future’ and sees Rick and Morty split their time between domestic life and interdimensional adventures.
‘Rick and Morty’ is currently in its third season and, although it’s not yet known whether a fourth will be commissioned next year, it was recently announced by Adult Swim and Nielson that it is the Number 1 TV comedy among adults 18-24 and 18-34 in the US.
