Drew Barrymore will never have plastic surgery

OHMYGOSSIP — Drew Barrymore refuses to have plastic surgery because she doesn’t want to “mess up” her face.
The 43-year-old Hollywood actress recently opened up about her drug use and rocky relationship with her parents that she suffered whilst being a child star, however the blonde beauty admitted she has an “addictive personality” which is the main reason why she keeps away from cosmetic procedures.
Speaking to GLAMOUR UK’s January Digital issue, Drew said: “I have an extremely addictive personality. I’ve never done heroin and I don’t want to get plastic surgery because I feel like they’re both very slippery slopes. I feel if I try either, I’m going to be dead really soon.
“Not messing with my face or chasing some unnatural beauty is a standard I live by. I have dark circles under my eyes. I was at my dermatologist’s recently who said to me, ‘Can I shoot some Juvederm up there? It will raise the skin and it won’t be so sunken, which is causing the darkness to look worse, because it’s lower than the natural light that is hitting it.’ And I went: ‘No, but I’m gonna go home and start highlighting under my eyes, so thank you for the tip!”
The ‘Never Been Kissed’ star – who has children Olive, six, and Frankie, four, with ex-husband Will Kopelman – also confessed that “age is a privilege” and young women should not feel pressured to seek procedures because growing old “gracefully” is “important”.
Opening up about cosmetic surgery, Drew added: “We’ve gone far too far with the whole thing, especially when people who are so young are doing it. I feel ageing is a privilege. It’s about how to do it gracefully, with humour, self-love and a respect for the process, and that’s always been really important to me.
“Then I started having girls and I thought, thank god these were my initial instincts. Now I can carry them out in an even more deep and profound way.”

Duchess Catherine’s staple flats

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duchess of Cambridge reportedly always packs boat shoes when she travels.
The 37-year-old royal is often seen in high heels or wedges at formal events with her husband Prince William, but according to Express.co.uk, she always takes the more practical option with her as well, even though they’re not dictated by royal protocol.
The publication claimed that Catherine can’t live without her trusted boat shoes, which she’s worn on several trips, such as her tours of New Zealand, India and Canada, and favours a taupe and cream style by Sebago.
The brand’s website claims the shoes are “welcome footwear for lunch, errands, and just dashing around. A traction-ready outsole keeps things steady on- and offshore.”
The Duchess – who has Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and eight-month-old Prince Louis with The Duke of Cambridge – isn’t the only royal who occasionally turns a blind eye to royal protocol, as it was recently reported that Duchess Meghan had started wearing shorter skirts due to her pregnancy.
Kensington Palace announced The Duchess of Sussex, 37, and husband Prince Harry – William’s younger brother – are expecting their first child at the start of their royal tour of Oceania in October, and she has been changing her fashion choices in order to accentuate “the assets that don’t change as much in pregnancy”.
Personal stylist Keren Beaumont previously stated: “When a woman becomes pregnant and sees her body shape evolving, this can often call for a change in her usual formula for dressing.
“Being in the public eye, these women will be very conscious of wanting to look great, so they will offset these larger silhouettes by making the most of the assets that don’t change as much in pregnancy, especially their legs in the case of the two ladies in question.
“Both are blessed with long slim legs which are showcased beautifully in higher hemlines.”

Cheryl not looking for love

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl has “paused” her love life.
The 35-year-old singer has been single since splitting from Liam Payne – the father of her 22-month-old son Bear – last July and though she hasn’t “given up” on relationships entirely, she isn’t looking for a new partner at the moment.
She said: “I wouldn’t say I’ve given up on love. I love, love. But I have paused my relationship goals. All is well. I’m just going with the flow, but I have no plans to meet anybody anytime soon.”
And the ‘Love Made Me Do It’ hitmaker – who was previously married to Ashley Cole and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini – admitted the “lows” of a relationship going wrong is enough to put her off wanting to find love again.
She told MailOnline: “I hate the lows… I hate the lows. It’s kind of one of the things that makes us not want to get into a relationship. Nothing quite makes you feel like that, does it? Nothing else.
“And I know you have to take the highs with the lows, so I’m working on being OK with that, but at the moment, I just don’t need it. I don’t want it.”
Despite splitting from Liam, 25, Cheryl insists they still have a “good” relationship and are no different to any other couple who have parted ways after having a child.
She said: “There’s no animosity whatsoever. We are learning all the time. And it’s good, it’s healthy. We’re just like any other couple that have gone through this, but we have a few more eyes watching us… Just a few.”
2018 saw the ‘Greatest Dancer’ captain return to her music career after taking four years out and despite having faced some criticism, it hasn’t upset her because her son is her main focus.
She explained: “I’ve just enjoyed making the music again. I had time out and time to refresh and reset. I was ready to go again.
“I wouldn’t say the comeback has been a breeze, but I do have a thick skin. I’ve been doing it for so long now. People have always had an opinion, that’s nothing new.
“Having Bear has helped. I have a different purpose now. Before, I would work and work and work, and that was the main subject in my life – and now he is.
“But being a mum also makes you enjoy it more and appreciate it more. I feel more comfortable with it.”

Sarah Hyland admits health issues made her suicidal

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Hyland was “very close” to taking her own life during her health battle.
The 28-year-old actress has opened up about her depression which affected her when she had a secret second kidney transplant after her first one failed, and now she has spoken candidly about low she got.
Appearing on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, she said: “I would write letters in my head to loved ones of why I did it and my reasoning behind it, how it was nobody’s fault. I didn’t want to write it down on paper because I didn’t want anybody to find it. That’s how serious I was … It ended up being myself that got me out of that. I had to do it on my own. I told myself I had to do it on my own.”
The ‘Modern Family’ star turned to a friend and verbalised her thoughts, which sparked a change and “helped immensely”.
However, Sarah was keen to point out that while it worked for her, she understands everyone with depression handles it differently.
She added: “Every person with their anxiety or depression or if you have suicidal thoughts, every individual is different, so I wouldn’t just rely on everything that I say.
“I’m just sharing my story. But I think talking to someone and saying it out loud really, really makes it sound almost ridiculous and it puts it into perspective.”
Now, almost two years on from the second procedure, the star is feeling much better and can now enjoy her life, including vacations to Mexico with her boyfriend Wells Adams.
She recently revealed: “I’m doing really really well. I just came back from Mexico and that was really, really nice. The good thing about being stable, health-wise, and having an amazing significant other is that now I’m able to travel more … The last time I took a vacation before this year I was 24. I just turned 28, so I’ve just been either working on my health or working nonstop, so it’s really good to be able to do something like that now.”

Timothee Chalamet: I didn’t wear a sex harness at Golden Globes

OHMYGOSSIP — Timothee Chalamet says his Golden Globes “sex harness-looking” shirt accessory was actually just a glittery “bib”.
The ‘Beautiful Boy’ star turned heads when he turned up to the prestigious ceremony on Monday (07.01.19) rocking the unusual Louis Vuitton/Virgil Abloh-designed piece, with many people left thinking it was a bondage harness, but the 23-year-old hunk quipped that it was nothing to do with “sex dungeon culture”.
During his appearance on the ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, the show’s host addressed the confusion surrounding his ensemble, saying: “You wore the coolest thing to the Globes, [but] people didn’t really understand.”
And laughing off being labelled the “worst dressed” at the bash, he replied: “That’s Louis Vuitton–Virgil Abloh.
“I thought it was a bib. They told me it was a bib!.
“I had a friend send me a thing that, like, sex dungeon culture is a thing where you wear harnesses. I didn’t do it for that reason, but, uh…”
The ‘Lady Bird’ star attended the ceremony – which saw him nominated for Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his portrayal of teenage drug addict Nick Sheff in ‘Beautiful Boy’, which sees him star alongside Steve Carrell – with his mother, Nicole Flender, and he says they were getting starstruck by different people to each other.
He said: “I was excited to see Lady Gaga and Rami Malek, and she was excited to see Tony Shalhoub and Dick Van Dyke. So, we’re not the same type of fan! “But it was great to be there with her. She was really excited.”
The ‘Call Me By Your Name’ star also spoke about how important it was to portray Nick in the emotional drama, because of the current meth crisis in the US.
He said: “Here’s the thing: A lot of people in America are going through this right now.
“A lot of people my age are going through this too.
“Addiction is the biggest killer in America right now.
“It doesn’t discriminate across race or gender; it affects everyone.
“It felt like there was some honour in bringing that story to life.
“Nic Sheff, who I play, in real life is alive and well today–a day at a time. These stories aren’t given, you know? I’m grateful that you saw it.”

Behati Prinsloo put no pressure on post-pregnancy figure

OHMYGOSSIP — Behati Prinsloo has never felt “any pressure” to get back in shape after having her children.
The 29-year-old Victoria’s Secret Angel – who has children Dusty Rose, two, and 10-month-old Gio, with husband Adam Levine – has revealed that her pregnancy was a “beautiful journey” and insists that she didn’t have anyone forcing her to get her pre-pregnancy body back despite returning for the Victoria’s Secret Show in November, just eight months after having Gio.
In an interview with Net-A-Porter, she said: “I did the Victoria’s Secret show eight months after I had Gio. I felt so empowered. I was like, ‘I can do this, I have two kids.’ It was a beautiful journey; I loved being pregnant and I enjoyed getting back to work.
“I didn’t feel under pressure to get back in shape [after having children]. I got pregnant [with Gio] seven months after I had my first baby. I’ve been modeling for 15 years and when I got pregnant I didn’t want to do anything, I wanted to enjoy my time.
“I really liked being pregnant and not working. […] No one pressured me to return to work, not even Victoria’s Secret, who I was under contract with – they never asked me when I was going to be back.”
The brunette beauty also opened up about the difficulties she’s faced since becoming a mother, and admitted she’s keeping work “very casual” for the time being.
She said: “I’m [currently] keeping work very casual and not trying to be everywhere and show that I’m ‘back’ – its tough being a mom.”
“After my first baby, I had a little postpartum depression and it was difficult to get back into normal life, but after the second one everything felt so much easier; it was easier for me to workout, breastfeeding was easier.”

Lewis Capaldi’s advise to Kanye West

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi would tell Kanye West to “release new music and tweet less”.
The rising 22-year-old Scottish star was asked what the first thing he would say to the 41-year-old rapper would be, and he says he’d offer the outspoken star the advice to leave his controversial thoughts off Twitter and focus on writing new music – despite the rapper producing five albums in 2018.
The ‘Grace’ hitmaker, who is clearly a huge fan of the ‘Stronger’ hitmaker’s music, told the new issue of GQ Magazine he would tell Kanye: “Can you release more music and tweet less please?”
The ‘Gold Digger’ rapper often takes to the micro-blogging to leave his brand dumps on politics, hip-hop and the odd beef with his rivals, including most recently Drake.
Meanwhile, Lewis also revealed that the first song he penned featured a line about Robbie Williams going “insane” after speaking about UFOs.
He shared: “It was called “The Show Must Go On” and it was basically me as an 11-year-old trying to comment on stuff like the credit crunch. It was awful. I still remember it in it’s entirety to this day, one of the lines was ‘The economy is going down the drain and Robbie Williams has gone insane.’ I think it was because he was going on about UFOs at the time. Very, very bad.”
The BRITS Critics’ Choice nominee also admitted that it wasn’t until his sold-out show in Glasgow at King Tuts, two years ago, that he realised he’d made it.
He told the publication: “I think when I sold out King Tuts in Glasgow in January of 2017. It was me just being like, ‘Either these people all have horrible taste in music or I must be OK.’ That’s still up for debate I suppose.”
And Lewis spent his first paycheque for music in the pub he played at.
He said: “When I was like 17 or 18 and didn’t really have anything I needed to buy, we would do these pub gigs for some cash and would usually just spend our wage back in the pub immediately after.”

Leonardo DiCaprio’s mother soaks fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Leonardo DiCaprio’s mother has been soaking nosy fans with a hose.
The ‘Revenant’ actor’s house in Los Angeles is one of the stops on a bus tour of celebrity properties and protective Irmelina Indenbirken, 75, has reportedly taken drastic measures to try and keep tourists away from the abode.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Leo’s mum is very protective of him and has taken measures into her own hands to keep tourists away.
“She has been known to spray anyone who comes near with a garden hose, including the bus tour, which has left some fans very soggy.
“It’s happened several times, she has a good aim and has absolutely no qualms about dousing them.
“In her eyes, people can be fans of Leo without having to go near his house.”
It was recently revealed the 44-year-old actor is selling off one of his Los Angeles properties for £1.3 million.
Leonard bought the Spanish-style abode in Silver Lake 19 years ago for £608,000 after he shot to fame with ‘Titanic’, and now he is set to receive double what he originally paid after putting the house on the market.
The multi-level home boasts four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms and comes with an elevator, pool and a fountain.
Leonardo has previously sold properties in Malibu and Studio City and recently purchased Moby’s old home, which is next door to his own Los Feliz residence.
Meanwhile, it was recently claimed that Leonardo is “very serious” about his currently relationship with model Camila Morrone.
The actor – who has dated various stars over the years, including Gisele Bundchen and Bar Refaeli – feels that his romance with the 21-year-old model is “different” to many of his previous relationships.
Of their burgeoning romance, a source explained: “He’s more mature and thinking longer term.”
Although marriage is “definitely not a discussion yet”, the duo are said to be “content” with how their relationship is developing.
Another insider explained: “He is very serious with Cami and has been for a while now, but marriage is not something that is on the horizon.”

Kate Hudson open to another baby

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Hudson would be happy to have another child.
The 39-year-old actress – who has Ryder, 15, with ex-husband Chris Robinson, Bingham, seven, with former fiance Matt Bellamy, and Rani, three months, with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa – won’t rule out having more kids in the future and thinks her boyfriend is particularly keen to have a son of his own.
She said: “I love babies. I mean, if it happens again, it happens again, you know? I’m never going to say no.
“I think that Danny is going to want a boy of his own for sure. Granted, he’s inherited two boys – and it’s a lot in the house. But he comes from three boys. So I think that, yeah. We’ll see.”
The ‘Marshall’ actress is delighted with the “really cute” way her sons have bonded with their baby sister.
She told ‘Access’: “It’s really cute to see them with her. They can’t stand how cute she is. It’s completely different than when Ryder had his brother. [He] was like, “When can he play? When can he do things?’ They want to teach [them] everything they know.
“Then, a little girl comes in and they’re just like, ‘Oooh!’ It’s like having a little ornament.
“It’s really amazing to watch how her energy coming in is sort of calming the boys – until they get outside.”
Now Rani is sleeping through the night and growing stronger every day, Kate is getting more time to focus on herself.
She said: “Usually, I start doing a lot of self-care about three and a half months, four months. I start working out a little bit harder.”
The ‘Almost Famous’ star was recently named a global ambassador for Weight Watchers and has found the programme very helpful.
She said: “You start pulling back on things that became kind of your norm, and the next thing you know, you feel better. You’re sleeping better. You know your head’s a bit clearer. You’re moving faster.”

Hollyoaks: David Tag would love to play rival Liam Donovan

OHMYGOSSIP — David Tag would like to play ‘Hollyoaks’ love rival Liam Donovan.
The soap star – who plays Sylver McQueen on the show – has opened up about the ongoing drama as Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) is sent off the rails by her romance with Liam (Jude Monk McGowan), and admitted he would enjoy the chance to take on a different role.
He said: “I’d like to have a go at playing Liam! It seems like he’s a fun character to play because he’s just so bad, through and through.
“He doesn’t need to think about any consequences, and I’d find it quite fun to act aggressive towards people, even though the audience may not like him as much.
“I think acting wise it would be quite a good challenge.”
Sylver has spotted that Liam is a bad influence on Mercedes, as she starts to enjoy wild parties and take drugs with her new fling.
He turns up to take her children – Max and Bobby – away for their safety, and warms their mother to get her act together for their sake.
However, David still hopes the couple can have a happy ending – although he’s not sure it will be a ‘happily ever after’.
He explained: “To a certain extent, yes. I think there will be very happy times to come because I don’t think Sylver will ever give up on Mercedes and he’ll keep striving.
“Similarly, Mercedes also has a lot of love for Sylver, but forever… I’m not sure.”

Calvin Klein’s flagship New York store to close

OHMYGOSSIP — Calvin Klein is closing its flagship store in New York, following Raf Simons’ resignation.
The American fashion house has announced plans to completely restructure their brand and the luxury label, starting with the closure of their Madison Avenue store
The PVH Corp. company plans to use a “digital-first” approach and are going to combined their sportswear and jeans line.
Whilst the higher-end Calvin Klein 205W39NYC line will be renamed and given a whole new direction.
The announcement comes just three weeks after Simons departed the label well before the end of his three-year contract, reportedly due to a difference in opinion.
Calvin Klein was reportedly underwhelmed by Simons’ performance as the company’s chief creative officer
The 50-year-old designer was hired by the firm amid much fanfare, but his time with Calvin Klein subsequently fell short of investor and consumer expectations.
An insider said: “Raf spent a fortune doing up Calvin Klein’s Madison Avenue flagship store, which was fine as it was.
“He also blew a stack of money building a new Paris headquarters for the brand which looked more like an art gallery.
“Plus, CK/PVH had to pony up millions to the Warhol Foundation to license the images for the ‘partnership’ led by Simons which was met with collective indifference by the consumer.”
Simons’ contract was due to expire in August 2019, but in a recent statement announcing his departure, Calvin Klein explained that it wanted to find “a new brand direction”.
Despite this, both parties have refused to go into detail regarding the circumstances that led to Simons’ exit.
The statement read: “Both parties have amicably decided to part ways after Calvin Klein Inc. decided on a new brand direction which differs from Simons’s creative vision.”

Josh Hutcherson: James Franco is a really good guy

OHMYGOSSIP — Josh Hutcherson thinks James Franco is “really honest and down-to-earth”.
The 26-year-old actor has worked with James on three movies – ‘In Dubious Battle’, ‘The Disaster Artist’, and ‘The Long Home’ – and says the “biggest misconception” about the actor is how people often think he can be “hard to connect with”, when in actual fact he’s “a really good guy”.
He said: “The biggest misconception about James is that some people find him like a little hard to connect with, but I can tell you, once you get inside the circle, he’s like your best friend. He’s a really good guy, really honest and extremely intelligent, down-to-earth.”
Josh also praised James’ directing style, as he claimed the 40-year-old ‘Deuce’ star has an “open process” which allows his actors to give their own input into their roles.
Speaking on ‘Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’, Josh said: “His directing style – he really wants actors to follow like their intuitions, so he’s very much open to kind of having the actors kinda give their input. He has a very free, kind of like open process, which is lovely.”
The ‘Hunger Games’ star’s comments come after he made his own directorial debut in 2017 with ‘Ape’ – which was part of a series of five shorts produced by the actor and his mother Michelle Hutcherson’s Turkeyfoot Productions, Indigenous Media and Condé Nast Entertainment – and said he was keen to continue working behind the camera on more projects.
He said: “I’ve always wanted to direct. Directing definitely preceded acting for me. Before I really actually started in the business, I was directing my friends in movies in Kentucky. But they hated every moment of it and would quit often, so I didn’t finish one of those projects. Now I’m going for redemption. I’m absolutely addicted to directing.”

Kate Hudson’s son Ryder is her ‘little helper’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Hudson’s teenage son Ryder is her “little helper”.
The 39-year-old actress welcomed her daughter Rani – her first child with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa – three months ago, and has said that now her oldest son Ryder, whom she has with ex-husband Chris Robinson, is a teenager, he’s become her “mate in the journey of Rani” as he lends a hand around the house.
Kate – who also has Bingham, seven, with former fiance Matt Bellamy – said:
“I think if you have a lot of kids under a certain age, it’s really crazy. Ryder is like – he’s got it. He’s good. He doesn’t need much from me right now except real support and being there for him, but he doesn’t need the same kind of nurturing as he did. It’s a different kind of nurturing.
“He checks out and he goes to his room, does his homework, comes back down. He comes plays with Rani for a bit, but it’s not like he needs the same thing.
“I really kind of have two kids that I have to be super hands on with, whereas Ryder’s my mate in the journey of Rani. He’s my little helper. Bing’s a good helper, too.”
But the ‘Bride Wars’ star insists she’d “never” let 15-year-old Ryder babysit his siblings.
She added: “I will never let Ryder babysit. I love my son, but he’s not babysitting. I’d probably let Bing babysit before I let Ryder babysit.”
And after raising two boys, Kate is so pleased she now gets to parent a baby girl.
Speaking to E! News, she said: “I would have been happy with a boy, but I have to say having a girl is pretty spectacular and very different. She’s quite a feminine girl. You never know what energetically how they’re going to come out and she’s very feminine. The sounds are feminine. Her hands – someone said she just vogues. She’s voguing all the time. Her hands are always framing her face … she’s such a good girl.”

WWE announces UK Performance Centre

OHMYGOSSIP — WWE is opening its first International Performance Centre in the UK.
Ahead of NXT UK’s ‘Takeover Blackpool’ event on Saturday (12.01.19), the company has unveiled plans for its own training facility almost six years after launching its base in Orlando, Florida.
Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque – Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative – said: “This is the latest milestone in our global localisation strategy and the next step in establishing local NXT brands around the world. We are incredibly proud to open the UK Performance Centre and provide our NXT UK Superstars the same world-class coaching and development programs that we deliver at WWE’s Performance Centre in Orlando, Florida.”
The 17,000 square feet facility will be the first of its kind for WWE outside the US as it looks to continue to grow its local brands around the world.
Boasting two training rings, top class strength and conditioning equipment and “versatile content creation infrastructure”, the centre will allow the company to develop UK-based talent like never before.
The NXT UK roster already features the top names in the industry, including WWE United Kingdom champion Pete Dunne, who will defend the title against Gallus leader Joe Coffey in Blackpool this weekend.
Meanwhile, his British Strong Style teammates Tyler Bate and Trent Seven – together known as the duo Moustache Mountain – will be facing Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) to crown the brand’s first tag team champions.
Appearing on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Friday (11.01.19) ahead of the official announcement, Trent said: “We’re going to be able to go straight from here to our secret location, our new NXT UK Performance Centre, right after this.
“So fantastic news coming out all the way through the day. The fact that we get to go back, the fact that we’ve had this investment… for the other wrestlers and the British wrestling fanbase, it’s pretty exciting.”

Stacey Dooley defends her new show from haters

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Dooley hit back at Twitter users who have criticised her taking a job as the host of new BBC Three show ‘Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star’.
The 31-year-old star – who was crowned the winner of the last series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – was announced this week to be helming the programme which will see judges L’Oreal’s Val Garland and Mac’s Dominic Skinner pick a winner from 10 contestants competing to win a contract assisting the world’s top makeup artists.
Following the announcement, Stacey was inundated with tweets from people accusing her of turning her back on her journalism roots and claiming she has “sold out” to a mainstream audience.
But Stacey was quick to defend herself and posted a series of tweets making it clear why she was taking the job on and why people are wrong to criticise her career choice.
She tweeted: “This is such a Stone Age assumption.
You can care about human issues, the planet and also be into fashion. You can also take time out to look after yourself mentally
“For those tellin me you’re suddenly doing ‘trivial’ work … I’ve been filming stories covering rape, incest, drugs, murder and war for a decade. It’s a privilege to cover these issues, but I also need to take time out to enjoy the lighter side of life.
“Also. Dancers and make up artists are incredibly talented. I’m lucky to work alongside them. The idea that talent is exclusively measured on how academic or intellectual you are is SO ridiculous. Snobbery and judgement not really my thing. Anyway. Off to nail my routine (sic)”
‘Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star’ will air later this year.

Jason Gardiner slams Gemma Collins for saying he can’t skate

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Dancing On Ice’ judge Jason Gardiner has slammed Gemma Collins for incorrectly belittling his dancing expertise and claiming he can’t skate.
The 37-year-old ‘TOWIE’ star was unhappy with his harsh critique of her first routine last weekend and dismissed his opinion because his skating skills are no good.
Jason, 47, has now hit back and has let The GC know that his skating skills have been given the seal of approval by fellow judges and Olympic figure skating gold medallists Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and to respect that he has been chose to be on the panel because of his decades of experience in dance.
Appearing on ‘This Morning’, he said: “We have to forgive these people for being incorrect and not knowing their stuff because I would guess she doesn’t understand where I come from, she doesn’t know that I actually can skate. She wants to speak to Jayne and Chris, they’ll tell her I can actually skate.
“I have never professed to be a professional skater, it is not what I am. I am not on the panel to judge the skating. We leave that to skating royalty Jayne and Chris. Ashley (Banjo) and I have very clearly defined roles on the panel to talk about the performance, the choreography. So that’s what we do.”
Gemma dismissed judge Jason by claiming he “can’t back up” his comments with “actions” because he’s never been a pro skater.
She previously said: “I find him highly amusing. I really like him, yes he’s definitely going to say stuff about me but Jason Gardiner can’t actually skate. Jason can have all the chat, but he can’t back it up with the actions.”
Brian McFadden, Melody Thornton, Wes Nelson, Richard Blackwood, Saira Khan and Ryan Sidebottom all take to the rink for their first routines this weekend.
‘Dancing On Ice’ airs on ITV on Sunday (13.01.19) at 6pm.
