Kathleen Turner: I’m ageing well

OHMYGOSSIP — Kathleen Turner thinks she is “ageing rather well”.
The 64-year-old actress insists she doesn’t want to “be a Cher, where her face never changes or moves” and would never get Botox or plastic surgery to turn the clocks back.
She said: “Faye Dunaway once told me that if I did not start plastic surgery by the time I was 40 it would be too late. And I said, ‘Well fine, I won’t do it then.’ I don’t want to be a Cher, where my face never changes or moves. At the moment I think I’m ageing rather well.”
And the ‘War of the Roses’ star feels lucky she was only considered to be a sex symbol “for a while”.
She added: “I was considered a sex symbol only for a while. I fought my way out of it very quickly. The power of my attractiveness for years was indeed an asset. But that did not control my choices at all.”
And Kathleen is disappointed she is not taken as seriously as her male counterparts are.
She explained to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Some of my stories have dimmed. I’ve sometimes felt invisible but I think that’s not limited to being an actress. A lot of older women feel that. We’re not taken as seriously as many men. But I have found, in a way, it’s mostly exciting. I love teaching. I do master classes in universities. And I love directing. This past year doing a full-length cabaret for the first time was a whole new area to explore. There will come a time when I may not physically be able to do eight shows a week. Fine. I will teach more. Write more books.”

Bradley Walsh in talks for Breaking Dad 2nd series

OHMYGOSSIP — Bradley Walsh is in talks with ITV bosses about making a “tougher” second series of ‘Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad’.
TV executives are hoping to make another season of the travel documentary – which follows the 58-year-old actor and his 21-year-old son Barney hitting the road together across America – even more “extreme” and gruelling in a bid to trump the hugely popular current series.
An insider told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “The show has been a huge success and bosses would love to do a second series.
“It’s got a great feel about it and they would love to see him take on even tougher and more extreme challenges in a new series.”
This comes after ‘The Chase’ host recently revealed that one of the activities in an episode to come made him and his son “ill for a couple of days”.
He said: “I don’t wanna spoil it because it’s in a later episode but there was one point that I thought I’d taken it too far.
“I had to do the activity first and I was like, ‘Wow, this is tough.’ It actually made us ill for a couple of days didn’t it? It actually made us ill.”
The concept behind the show was to send the father-and-son pair on a journey to take on new experiences and enhance their relationship.
Their 2,000-mile road trip sees Bradley and Barney heading across the Mojave Desert.
Travelling from Los Angeles to New Orleans, the duo are pushed to the limits and face driving tasks, cowboy training, alligator feeding and skydiving.

Mark Little reveals celebs are divided on Dancing on Ice

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Little says there is a divide between the celebrities on ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The 59-year-old actor – who is best known for portraying Joe Mangel in ‘Neighbours’ – claims the stars are split into two friendship groups on the ITV show, and said he especially bonded with a handful of the contestants, including Jane Danson and Didi Conn.
He is quoted by the Daily Mirror as saying: “Everyone really! It’s a really nice cast.
“We’re sort of split into two groups so we saw our group more than the other group. Jane Danson and Didi Conn and Saara [Aalto] are really nice folk.
“The professional skaters are charming people, hard-working people.
“They’re really generous with their advice and their talent … just amazing.
“Being on the ice with those sportsmen, those artists. They’re elite sportsmen but they’re performance artists and there aren’t many disciplines like it.
“I don’t think there is anything like it. I was just fascinated by it.”
Mark and his professional skating partner Brianne Delcourt became the first skating couple to leave the ITV show’s latest series on Sunday (13.01.19) after losing out in the skate-off to Ryan Sidebottom and Brandee Malto.
Speaking after his exit, Mark said: “I did my best. I’d never have imagined I’d do any of that so I’m really really happy. We’ve had a great time.
“I’ll continue to skate – it’ll be my new past time. It’s a gorgeous thing to do.”
Brianne added: “You’ve learned a new skill. You can teach your grandchildren.”
It was a clean sweep as all four judges – Jason Gardiner, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean – chose to save Ryan and Brandee.

Vanessa Bauer speaks out after Megan Barton Hanson’s claims

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Bauer has shared a message of empowerment after Megan Barton Hanson slammed her in an Instagram rant.
The ‘Dancing on Ice’ professional – who is paired up with Wes Nelson on the programme – shared a series of action shots taken during her professional routine with Hamish Gaman from Sunday’s show (13.01.19), after the former ‘Love Island’ star accused Vanessa of trying to come between her and boyfriend Wes.
In the post, Vanessa wrote: “Because whenever I’m on the ice everything is good again, I’m so grateful for yesterday’s voting window number.
“There is nothing in the world I am more passionate about and that makes me happier than figure skating! Last night’s number was an absolute dream.
“I can’t thank everybody enough for all the love and support #strongwoman #DancingOnIce #womenempowerment (sic)”.
This comes after the 24-year-old reality star accused Vanessa of a “tactical break up” with partner Louis Nathaniel – which she announced just hours before the live show – and claimed the dancer has “never reached out” to her or invited her to watch her boyfriend Wes train for the ITV ice skating competition.
She wrote: “@Vanessabauer_skates love that you decide to announce your breakup with your boyfriend on the night of your 1st performance with my boyfriend!
“You’ve never reached out to me once or invited me to watch you train, it pained you to introduce yourself to me last night, you didn’t even look me in the eye LOL.
“Hope the tactical breakup got you the headlines you wanted babe. @wesnelson (sic)”
Megan has since taken to social media once again, to thank her fans for their support after the rant, and boyfriend Wes has defended her from trolls who said she looked sour-faced at the show.
Sharing a message from a fan who praised the star for speaking her mind, and stated she was the most “genuine and authentic of all the Love Island girls”, Megan wrote: “Such a lovely message a lady wrote to Wes. I knew being famous wasn’t going to b easy. But wow! Thank you all for your kind words. It has helped me Today more than you realise (sic).”
Wes too took to the platform, writing on his story: “Oh and give it a rest with this Dancing on Ice curse b******* as well it’s laughable. (sic)”

Catherine Tate wants to return to Doctor Who

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine Tate wants to return to ‘Doctor Who’ as her character Donna Noble.
The 49-year-old actress was Tenth Doctor David Tennant’s TARDIS companion in Series 4 after first appearing as the character in the 2006 Christmas Special and she then made a brief reappearance in Tennant’s final regeneration episodes in 2009.
Catherine would be keen to make a comeback to the BBC One sci-fi series to star opposite Thirteenth Doctor Jodie Whittaker if she got a call from new showrunner Chris Chibnall.
Appearing on ‘The Jason Manford Show’ on Absolute Radio, she said: “It wouldn’t be up to me because you can’t just turn up on the set uninvited. They don’t like it. But that would be nice. I haven’t tried. Probably all the security would still remember me.”
Although she wants to make a return to ‘Doctor Who’, Catherine hasn’t actually seen Jodie, 36, in her debut series.
She added: “I haven’t yet, only because I won’t understand them and it makes me feel inferior. But I know she’s brilliant because she’s fantastic.”
However, Catherine has never been a committed Whovian and had never seen the programme before she accepted her part in it.
She said: “I’d not watched any of it. In fact, funnily enough the only episode I’d actually caught was when it had gone back to the 80s. So it was like a period piece, but I didn’t know that. I had turned it on and thought it’s exactly the same, the production values haven’t changed, it’s exactly the same as when I used to watch it. This is shocking!”
Catherine admits landing the part of Donna Noble was a “real game changer” in her career and life as it opened up a lot of new opportunities to her away from her comedy roots.
The former ‘Big Train’ star said: “It was a real game changer actually in my life, ‘Doctor Who’, because I got to meet these wonderful people and other things came of it. I absolutely loved it. It doesn’t make me a sci-fi aficionado, I still don’t know what goes on, and I wasn’t quite aware of what was going on to me.”

Sam Smith ‘doesn’t really’ like the sound of his voice

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Smith has admitted he “doesn’t really” like the the sound of his voice.
The ‘Fire On Fire’ hitmaker has confessed that once his songs are released for the world to hear, “something dies” and he cannot listens to them anymore.
Speaking to Hits Radio, he spilled: “I absolutely love listening to [my songs] before they’re released. Once they’re released, something I guess dies. As soon as I release a song I stop listening to it and it doesn’t belong to me anymore … I don’t really like the sound of my own voice most of the time.”
The ‘Stay With Me’ hitmaker also gave an update on his next studio album – the follow-up to 2017’s ‘The Thrill Of It All’ – which he says he’s “working hard” on all the time, and revealed he would love to collaborate with his idol Robyn.
Asked how he’s getting along with his third record, he replied: “Between albums one and two I had a big break but now I’m gonna keep going, gonna keep working hard. I don’t really want to get off the train right now.”
And on wanting to collaborate with the ‘Dancing On My Own’ hitmaker – who released her comeback record ‘Honey’ in October – he said: “My favourite artist in the entire world is Robyn, so I’d love to do something with her.”
Longtime Fifth Harmony super-fan, Sam, 26, recently teamed up with the group’s band member Normani on the track ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ and said the duet came about by “chance”.
He recalled: “By chance the incredible Normani was coming into the studio and I just asked her to jump on the track … it was a completely natural way of doing it, just by chance. Which makes it all the more special. It felt like a really friendly and kind collaboration.”

Ellie Goulding inspired by electronic music and hip-hop on new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellie Goulding’s new album is a mixture of electronic and hip-hop influences.
The ‘Close To Me’ singer has opened up the styles of music that have shaped her long-awaited first album since 2015’s ‘Delirium’, and how it’s very much “her own voice” and less “collaborative”.
She explained: “This album is definitely a return of some sorts, because it’s very much written by me.
“It’s much less collaborative than the last album.
“It has much more clarity and space.
“This album is the album of my voice, and my songwriting, and that’s kind of what I’ve always wanted to do.
“There will be electronic influences and hip-hop influences, and the music that I grew up listening to and that I’ll never be able to shake off.
“I’ve always had my own interpretation of what’s happening in pop music.”
Ellie has done numerous electronic collaborations, including latest single ‘Close To Me’ with Diplo and Swae Lee, ‘Outside’ with Calvin Harris and ‘First Time’ with Kygo, and she says the genre will always have an influence on her output.
The 32-year-old star – who is engaged to art dealer Caspar Jopling – also revealed that she is hoping to bag a collaboration with experimental musician Four Tet.
Revealing her influences growing up, she told Billboard: “I was brought up on it, so it’s in my blood. I was brought up to The Prodigy and The Future Sound of London and Massive Attack.
“I remember listening to dance music with my family in the car.
“I think it was just a form of escapism for me and my family.
“Only when I was a teenager did I discover songwriting, and learned the guitar, and I listened to Imogen Heap and Björk and Joni Mitchell and Ani DiFranco.
“I think I’ll always collaborate with electronic producers. I’m working on getting in with Four Tet at the moment.”
The ‘Starry Eyed’ singer also gushed about her idol Björk and her ability to fuse classical music with electronic.
She added: “I also listened to so much classical music, because I feel like it really soothes me, and the more I listen to classical music, the more I get obsessed with its intricacy.
“That’s why I love Björk. Björk remains my favorite artist of all time, because she fused classical and electronic music so beautifully and effortlessly, and she composed it herself. She remains my hero.”

Kerry Katona reunites with long-lost brother

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona has reunited with her long-lost brother Jason – after not knowing him her whole life.
The former Atomic Kitten star came face-to-face with her sibling on TV show ‘This Morning’ today (15.01.19) for a second time to discuss meeting each other last month, after both of them had no idea of each other’s existence until the death of Kerry’s biological father Ronnie Armstrong in 2008.
The 38-year-old reality star had been aware of her birth father’s existence after hiring a private detective to find him in 2004, but had decided not to disrupt the life he had forged with his family.
However, after his death, Kerry made contact with Ronnie’s widow, who revealed that he had children from a previous marriage, one of whom was Jason.
Speaking on the show, Kerry said: “They rang me up and they were lovely. They were so nice. I met his wife and she held my face and she said, ‘It’s just like looking at Ronnie looking at you, you look more like your dad than any of them do.’ They were all absolutely lovely.”
Kerry and Jason have been in contact for nine years after Jason reached out to the star via social media, but due to busy schedules, the siblings were only able to meet last month when Kerry was performing in panto ‘Cinderella’.
Jason said: “Kerry was chock-a-block busy really. She’s always been doing stuff, she lives down south, I live up north.
“I have my family, my kids, I had commitments with my kids … I had my own problems and issues that I had to deal with myself and, as I said, with Kerry being in the limelight it was never about a celebrity thing for me.”
The pair planned to meet up this February, as Jason was engaged again, but decided they couldn’t wait that long – and Jason says the pair “clicked” as soon as they met each other.
He said: “I think it’s just that connection of not having the father figure there that we find something in each other, but we clicked.”
Kerry added: “We did we got on straight away.”

Josie Gibson splits from boyfriend

OHMYGOSSIP — Josie Gibson has split from her boyfriend Terry – just four months after giving birth to their son.
The 33-year-old reality TV star grew “resentful” of the 48-year-old property developer after he opted to sleep in a campervan outside instead of helping out with night feeds in their house, and she is now determined to “smash life” as a single mum.
She said: “I’d never go back now. I need somewhere secure for me and Reg.
“I never wanted to be a single mother, obviously, but there are things you can’t let go.
“So I hope I will smash life as a single mummy. Lots of other women do it.”
Josie and Reggie moved out just two days before New Year’s Eve (31.12.18) after claiming Terry “went mad” about her storing too many shoes in the hallway.
She said: “He’s got OCD and just after Christmas, he went mad about too many of my shoes being in the hallway.
“So I kicked off and said, ‘Well, we’ll go then!’ and he went, ‘Alright!’ and bagged up our stuff.
“So Reggie and I headed to a hotel.”
Josie admits she has been “no angel” during their relationship, and while she cannot see anyway back for her and Terry, she is pleased he “really cares” about their son.
Speaking to new! magazine, she added: “All that matter is that Reg is alright – and Terry does really care about Reg.
“But things between us have gone too far now.”
Last month, Josie revealed Terry had taken up residence in a campervan outside the house.
She said: “I found it extremely difficult at the start. It nearly sent me over the edge.
“He needed feeding every two hours because he was so little after being born premature.
“[Terry] has been sleeping in the campervan in the garden because he says there’s no point in us both being tired. But actually, he’s been getting up and seeing to him a few times recently.
“The first night he did it, he woke up at 1pm the next day. I was like, ‘Heavy night was it?’ And he was like, ‘I feel like I’ve been to a festival for three days.’ I said, ‘I’ve been doing that for three months!’ ”

Kit Harington has kept Game of Thrones statue as a memento

OHMYGOSSIP — Kit Harington has kept his Jon Snow crypt statue as a memento from ‘Game of Thrones’.
The final series of the HBO fantasy drama is to air this year from April 14 and when shooting wrapped on Season 8 last July Kit cleared it so he could take home the likeness of his alter ego which is seen in the recently released trailer.
The statue is currently being stored in his shed but the 32-year-old actor intends to turn it into a water feature as permanent tribute to his time as Snow on the show.
Appearing on ‘The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on Tuesday (15.01.19), he said: “See I kept that statue, you know the one in the crypt. I kept it, they sent it to my house, I’ve got it in my shed – how sad is that! I was the only one who kept my statue, that’s how narcissistic I am! I’m going to turn it into a water feature or something.”
Kit made his debut as Snow in Season 1 of ‘Game of Thrones’ – which is an adaptation of the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ novels by George R. R. Martin – back in 2011 and has featured in every series of the show.
The English screen star admits he “grieved” for the programme when shooting ended for the final time and he likened the experience to when you finish reading a captivating book.
He said: “It’s like when you finish a book, you’re not happy it’s over. You don’t finish a good back and go, I’m happy I finished that! You have this grief it’s over. No matter how it ended, or how it does end, there’s always going to be a loss around it.”
Kit also reassured ‘GoT’ fans that he is personally “very satisfied” with the show’s ending and he is confident it will one of the biggest television events of all time.
When asked whether he was “happy” with how the show ends, he said: “Maybe not happy, but very satisfied. I’m so excited for people to see it.
“I think it’s going to be extraordinary. Hopefully it will change TV again like it did originally and break boundaries.”

James Haskell: Chloe’s dad wanted me to become a Madeley

OHMYGOSSIP — James Haskell has revealed his father-in-law Richard Madeley tried to get him to change his surname to Madeley.
The 33-year-old England rugby star recently tied the knot with Richard’s daughter Chloe Madeley, 31, in an intimate ceremony at a church in Berkshire in front of friends and family, including the bride’s TV presenter parents Richard and Judy Finnigan.
James has now spilled that Richard was keen for him to take on his family name because the newlyweds were filming an upcoming TV show with the ex-‘This Morning’ host and he wanted them to be referred to as ‘Team Madeley’.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Tuesday (15.01.19) about what her surname is now, Chloe said: “I have such a really good and loyal audience now, I’m going to stay Chloe Madeley [on the books], which is a nice ode to my dad as well. But in everything else, I’m a Haskell!”
James then said: “He [Richard] tried to get me to be James Madeley. We did a show, I think that’s coming out in the summer with Dermot O’Leary, and he made it ‘Team Madeley’ and tried to call me James Madeley and I was like, ‘It’s two Haskells and a Madeley!’. But he’s British TV heritage, so I just did as I was told.”
James and Chloe started dating back in 2014 and during his interview he admitted that he didn’t want to be pressured into tying the knot and so made a rule that anytime someone mentioned an engagement he would “put back” his proposal plans by six months.
He said: “The last time I was allowed to come on this show – invited I should say – straight away the lovely ladies brought up, was I going to get engaged? I basically decided that any time anyone mentioned it, I was going to put it back six months, even though he always knew he was going to make Chloe his wife.
“I had this conversation with Chloe. I said, ‘Listen if you keep talking about it, I’m going to put it back.’ When I came on the show I was like, ‘Right, OK, I see, trying to bully me into it.’ But I folded in the end because I love her and I wanted to get married.”

Holly Willoughby to compete on Dancing on Ice?

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby has hinted she could compete on ‘Dancing On Ice’ one day.
The 37-year-old presenter – who has children Harry, nine, Belle, seven, and Chester, four, with husband Dan Baldwin – would love to learn to ice skate but thinks she would need to have a good block of time to be able to learn more than just the basics.
She said: “Ice skating is such a beautiful thing to learn to do, it’s one of those things where you go, ‘I’d really love to learn to do that but when am I ever going to do it?’ ”
Asked if she could be persuaded to get onto the rink, she added: “Do you know … I would. I’d absolutely love to learn how to do it – but you can’t just go and have a one-hour lesson. I think it’s finding the time to do it properly – but yes I would love to … One day.”
Holly credits the success of the programme to coaches-turned-judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
She explained: “I think it’s very much due to the power of Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, because they are such a British institution, they’re legends in their own right.
“To be taught by those two or to have them as part of the show is such a unique experience. I think that’s why people still really want to do it.”
‘Dancing on Ice’ was the first show Holly and Phillip Schofield presented together, so she admits it will always be special to them.
She said: “For that reason alone, I think it’s a very special show for both of us. We really got to know each other on that show.”
And the blonde beauty is delighted the contest is back on screen again in its usual slot.
She added to HELLO! magazine: “It’s lovely because it’s just after Christmas and January is like a really cold, dull month and it suddenly explodes with sequins, glitter, and magic onto your TV screen. I think it’s what everyone needs after Christmas is over.”

Kerry Katona says daughters ‘aren’t keen’ on dad’s ex Vogue Williams

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona has claimed that her and her ex-husband Brian McFadden’s daughters don’t like their former stepmother, Vogue Williams.
The Irish model and her new husband Spencer Matthews have landed their own reality show, ‘Spencer, Vogue and Baby Too’, which follows their family life with four-month-old son Theo, but Kerry has revealed her eldest kids, Molly, 17, and 15-year-old Lilly-Sue – who she has with first husband Brian – won’t let her watch the programme because they don’t want to see their dad’s ex-wife.
Speaking to the new issue of Closer magazine, she said: “I’ve heard it’s really funny. But my daughters aren’t keen on her so I can’t watch it with them. I’ll have to see it on my own.”
But Kerry will be tuning in to support Brian – who split from Vogue in 2015 after three years of marriage – on ‘Dancing On Ice’ and is hoping to take their daughters to see him in action with skating partner Alex Murphy.
She said: “I’m going to go and see the live show with the girls. I can’t wait – I know he’ll be really good.
“He did a lot of dancing when he was younger. I reckon he’ll make the finals! It’ll be fun to see.”
Brian previously admitted he no longer has any contact with Vogue and felt it would be “pointless” for them to stay in touch.
Speaking last year, he said: “I don’t speak to Vogue any more either. It’s pointless. She’s married now and is having a baby. I am delighted for her and I hope she has a lovely family. [Spencer] is a great guy.”
But Brian -who is now dating teacher Danielle Parkinson – admitted it was tough giving custody of their dog, Winston, to Vogue.
