Allison Janney looking for mystery man

OHMYGOSSIP — Allison Janney is on the hunt for a mystery man her psychic dubbed ‘Hot Pants’.
The ‘I, Tonya’ actress is currently single but the fortune teller she regularly sees, whose name is Wendy, recently told her that her love life is set to pick up and she’ll soon meet a guy who will spice things up in the bedroom.
She told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: “I don’t know about you, but I like to go see psychics… I kind of like it. It’s kind of interesting.
“I went to this psychic and she kept saying she kept seeing this man that was going to come into my life. She said, ‘I’m seeing a lot of things, Allison. I see a lot in the bedroom.
“This man is going to be… I’m seeing a lot of things he’s doing to you. I’m gonna call him Hot Pants.'”
As a result of the vision, the 59-year-old actress has begun “getting out of the house” more in a bid to find Hot Pants.
She said: “This was a couple of months ago, and I still haven’t found Hot Pants. But I keep looking for him!
“And it keeps making me… go do things I wouldn’t normally do. Like, ‘I’m going to go get the oil changed in my car because maybe Hot Pants will be there.’ It’s getting me out of my house and, I don’t know if that’s what she was really trying to do, but I keep doing more things than I usually do.”
She then joked her search for the mystery man had brought her to the show, and pointed to a guy in the audience as she quipped: “Are you Hot Pants?”
After Ellen said she thought it was odd that the psychic had pictured Allison in the bedroom, the ‘Mom’ actress admitted the vision had left the medium uncomfortable.
She said: “[She was] kind of embarrassed about what she was seeing.”
And while she hasn’t met Hot Pants yet, the former ‘West Wing’ star has faith in the psychic.
She said: “She’s also said a lot of over things that have come true.”
Asked what the true predictions were, she quipped: “I’m not at liberty to discuss some of those things.”

Gwyneth Paltrow too old for more kids

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow insists she’s “too old” to have more children.
The 46-year-old actress – who already has Apple, 14, and Moses, 11, with ex-husband Chris Martin – married producer Brad Falchuk last year but she isn’t planning to start a family with the father-of-two because she doesn’t think she would “survive” the sleepless nights with a newborn.
She said of the possibility: “Good lord, no. I’m too old. It’s great that women are able to have babies late into their forties, but… I mean, pfffff. I don’t think I could be up all night. I wouldn’t survive.”
The ‘Shakespeare in Love’ star is having a “great experience” raising a teenage daughter and though Apple has a “naughty” side, she’s not worried because her oldest child is misbehaving in the way she would expect of someone her age.
She told ES magazine: “You know I’m having – I’m afraid to say it out loud – but a great experience with her.
“She’s so smart and sweet and so funny. And she’s a bit naughty.
“But my father said something to me when I apologised to him in my 20s for what I was like when I was 15 – sneaking out and having a party when they were on holiday. He said: ‘You were bad in all the ways you are supposed to be bad.’
“He said the only time you need to worry about a kid is when they are outside-the-box bad.
“So I’m looking at [Apple] through the lens of, ‘This is what she is supposed to be doing.’
“If you look at it like that, then you don’t freak out. You don’t judge them. You don’t shame them. You try to keep them on track and have good conversations. So far, so good.”
While Gwyneth feels too old to have more children, she admitted she’s also reached a point in her life where she no longer feels able to put her body through juice cleanses.
She admitted: “I don’t know if my adrenals are too tired or I am too old or whatever, but I definitely can’t do that liquid cleanse thing any more.”
The Goop founder admitted she felt she was “going to die” on her last five-day stint of consuming nothing but Chinese tea and green juice, and how she’d will her ‘master cleanses’ of water, lemon, cayenne pepper and maple syrup to come to an end.
She said: “When it had finished I’d think, ‘Oh great!’ and have a cigarette and a beer.”
The full interview appears in this week’s edition of ES Magazine, which is out now.

Rosie O’Donnell reflects on being a grandma

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosie O’Donnell found it “really trippy” holding her granddaughter for the first time.
The 56-year-old actress flew straight to Wisconsin in December when her daughter Chelsea – who she adopted as a baby with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter – went into labour with her first child and though she missed the birth of Skylar Rose by just an hour, she enjoyed a special bonding moment with the newborn when she got to cradle her in her arms.
She said: “She called me from Wisconsin — Chels, my daughter, lives there with her partner Jake — and she called and said, ‘I’m in labour.’
“I got on a plane and I missed the birth by, like an hour. But she’s happy.”
“[Holding Skylar] was really trippy, I have to say.
“She has a full head of black hair, like full. You can do styles with her hair, you know?”
The ‘SMILF’ star has taken great delight in seeing Chelsea – who she reconciled with last June following a long period of estrangement – settling down into her own family unit with boyfriend Jacob Bourassa and their daughter.
Speaking on ‘Today’, she said: “[It’s been great] to see my daughter so happy and so content, and this guy who loves her so much, loving that baby.
“I think a lot of adopted kids feel, until they have their own child, they don’t have that unit, to look at someone who looks like them, to see genetically that they have their own kind of history. So it was really a very beautiful thing.”
As well as Chelsea, Rosie also has Parker, 23, Blake, 19, and Vivienne, 16, with Kelli, and six-year-old Dakota with late second ex-wife Michelle Rounds.

Richard Hammond having ‘real crisis’ about turning 50

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Hammond is “having a real crisis” about turning 50.
The ‘Grand Tour’ co-host will see in the milestone in December but he is concerned about reaching the age because it feels “properly grown up”, although he plans to celebrate with a fancy dress party.
He said: “I’m absolutely in a flat tailspin panic. I’m having a real crisis about it.
“I can’t be 50. I’m like 11, 50 is older than most of the teachers. 50 is properly grown up.
“You think, ‘That’s not me, I’m not really 50.’ Because that’s properly grown up.”
When asked if he will have a fancy dress party, he replied: “Yeah.”
Should Richard need any advice about turning 50 he could ask his pal and ‘Grand Tour’ co-presenter Jeremy Clarkson, 58, but he may want to be aware of porcelain ducks when he reaches the age bracket after the ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’ host had a close shave with one while filming the motoring show.
Richard explained: “There haven’t been any major incidents in this one.
“The larger of my two daft friends will tell you he suffered a terrible injury – and he did.
“He cut his finger slightly on a porcelain duck.”
While there were no major injuries during filming for the show’s third series, Richard admits he was shaking with fear when he had to drive across a rickety wooden bridge over a large canyon in Colombia.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he added: “You know sometimes when you’re doing things and you have to act a bit and play it up a bit? Not required on that.
“When I said to camera I’m shaking it’s because I realised, ‘Oh no, I really am.’
“I was scared. We did all go over it but my vehicle was, ironically, bigger.”

Casualty’s Duffy in dementia diagnosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Casualty’s Lisa ‘Duffy’ Fairhead will be diagnosed with early-onset dementia on this Saturday’s (19.01.19) episode.
The long-serving nurse character – portrayed by Cathy Shipton – will be told the devastating news, and show bosses have praised “fantastic charities”, such as Dementia UK, for helping the programme to act out such hard-hitting plots realistically.
Producer  Simon Harper said: “We are mindful of telling them authentically and sensitively, which is why we are always so grateful to fantastic charities like Dementia UK, who give us invaluable advice.”
Simon also heaped praise on Cathy for her stellar performance as Duffy.
He is quoted by The Sun’s Bizarre TV column as saying: “Depicting this cruel disease will help raise awareness, and Cathy is knocking it out of the park with her heart-breaking performance.”
One bright light for Duffy is that she can keep working for now because the disease is in the early stages.
This weekend’s ‘Casualty’ looks to be eventful for another reason as Chelsea Halfpenny will bow out of her role as Alicia Munroe in the medical drama after four years on the BBC One show.
The 27-year-old actress – whose mum is former ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘EastEnders’ actress Jill Halfpenny – recently admitted her decision to leave the fictional hospital is so she can progress her career, a similar reason to why she quit ‘Emmerdale’ in 2013.
Chelsea – who played Amy Wyatt in the ITV soap – added: “I’ve been there for a few years and I just felt like it was time for me to move on and progress. I had a really good time there and I wanted to leave on a high.”

Hozier announces long-awaited second album

OHMYGOSSIP — Hozier has announced his first album in almost four years.
The Irish musician will release ‘Wasteland Baby’ on March 1, which follows the 2018 mixtape ‘Nina Cried Power’.
Announcing his follow-up to his critically-accliamed 2014 eponymous debut album – which featured the huge hit ‘Take Me To Church’ – he wrote on Twitter:
I’m thrilled to announce my new album #WastelandBaby will be released on March 1st and You can now listen to a new song called Almost. https://hozier.lnk.to/WastelandBabyTW (sic)’
The record is comprised of 14 tracks, including ‘Nina Cried Power’, which features blues legend Mavis Staples.
The record also features the song ‘Movement’, which the 28-year-old singer/songwriter performed live at his comeback show in London last year.
The folk star also shared the music video for soulful anthem in November.
Meanwhile, the Grammy-nominated star – whose full name is Andrew Hozier-Byrne – previously admitted he thinks fame is a “myth” and made it clear he will never write about his experiences in the spotlight.
He: “I think you have to be careful about what you are drawing from. I don’t worry about it so much in that this [fame] is a myth. The myth of fame and the myth of success is cultivated because it is monetisable and it is profitable. We sell the myth of fame and the myth of success in music, we sell it in videos, but it’s f***ing b*******. It’s all nonsense.”
The ‘Someone New’ singer also warned against the danger of losing yourself amongst the trappings of fame and success.
He said: “The thing is, when you think you’ve arrived at the point that you’ve been striving to get to, you f***ing have to bring yourself with you. Much to my disappointment, I still am myself. I still view the world with the same eyes that I did when I did the first album.”

Jake Quickenden: Dancing On Ice bosses want chemistry

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Quickenden claims ‘Dancing On Ice’ bosses put couples together on the show who they think might strike up a close bond.
The 30-year-old singer turned reality television personality – who won the ITV show last year with Vanessa Bauer – can see how easy it is for celebrities and their skating partners to start off a romance as they spend so much time together.
He said: “They always put you with maybe who you can … maybe you’ll get on, but most people are coupled up and nobody wants to ruin a relationship. But you can see why it might happen, you spend a lot of time with people, dancing and stuff.”
However, Jake quipped it is not the “sexiest” environment to start a relationship as it’s so cold.
He added: “But you’re not warm and in a nice studio sweating, like ‘Strictly’. You’re freezing thinking about if you fall or drop someone in a lift there’s a good chance of injury. Everything’s shrivelled up. Do you know what I mean. It’s not the sexiest of places to be honest.”
Jake split up with his fiancée Danielle Fogarty soon after winning the show but he insists it was nothing to do with the famous “curse”.
He told The Sun Online: “That was totally separate. It had nothing to do with that at all. The Strictly curse is only a curse if you let it.”
Jake’s comments come after Megan Barton Hanson accused Vanessa of being “disrespectful” and coming between her and her boyfriend Wes Nelson, who she is partnered with on the show.
She said: “It’s funny or a coincidence that Vanessa’s break-up came out the night they performed, she clearly wanted to get more hype around their performance. She knows the score; she did the show last year. She’s 22 years old. She knows questions are going to be asked about her and Wes and me being worried about them spending time together.
“Every woman will tell you it’s not ideal to have your boyfriend spending 12 hours a day with another woman – a little introduction from Vanessa would have gone a long way. ‘Dancing on Ice’ is very romantic and all about looking into each other’s eyes and parading around on the ice and being loved up together – it’s not easy to watch. Wes is my main priority, I love him. I am so passionate about him but it is going to be difficult now. I want to back him, but I don’t want to feel awkward.”

John Boyega to executive produce God is Good

OHMYGOSSIP — John Boyega will executive produce ‘God Is Good’.
The 26-year-old actor is set to produce the South African crime-thriller and has also set up a record label, which will handle the movie’s soundtrack.
He said: “I’m thrilled to be teaming once again with Josephine Rose on such a powerful and important story that explores themes of fathers and fatherhood, toxic masculinity, race and faith in a community that has become trapped in an unending cycle of violence and racial oppression, and where sometimes it seems for men that violence is the only way of achieving power.”
And the ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ actor praised Willem Grobler, who has penned the script and is also directing the movie.
He told Deadline: “Willem has written a superb screenplay and we are looking forward to working with him to realise the vision behind it. Josephine, Yara, Stefan and I also all share a passion for music and this film enables us to work with local talent in South Africa to find those voices and help put them on the international stage by also bringing on internationally renowned Afro beats artists. The team will work with artists across the continent of Africa to create a soundtrack that represents and gives voice to the incredible range of music talent and sound that the continent produces.”
Boyega’s new record label will be called UpperRoom Records and the up and coming South African rapper YoungstaCPT is set to perform on the soundtrack.
The movie – which is set in Cape Town’s Cape Flats – follows the story of a reformed gangster-turned-pastor and a detective come face to face with a gang leader after a case of brutal violence.
Casting is still in the works, with filming expected to begin in spring.

Jason Reitman to direct new Ghostbusters film

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Reitman is set to direct a new ‘Ghostbusters’ film.
The 41-year-old film director – who previously directed ‘Juno’ and ‘Labor Day’ – will helm the surprise next instalment in the fantasy franchise, 36-years after his father Ivan directed the first two films in the series.
Jason has also co-written a screenplay with Gil Kenan and plans to begin shooting the film – which will be a continuation of the 1884 movie and its 1989 sequel – this summer, with Sony planning to release the latest sequel in summer 2020.
There was no word on whether original cast members would return, and although plot details are being kept quiet, sources told Variety that Jason has begun auditioning teenagers for four mystery roles.
Ivan’s Montecito Pictures will be producing the project, as he did with the original two films, and insiders have reportedly said Ivan believes this film is a passing of the torch.
The upcoming flick seems to be somewhat of a passion project for the filmmaker who thinks his movies “should be an opportunity to reflect our lives”.
Jason previously revealed he considers it his responsibility to make his audience consider their own lives and their decisions more closely.
He said: “Movies should be an opportunity to reflect our lives and re-examine how we feel about the way we’re living now. My job as a filmmaker is not to take you over the finish line or tell you what to think. My job is to offer questions and then hand you the baton to run within any direction you wish. My thrill is when one audience member has a completely different experience to the one next to them, and the debate that comes from that on the ride home.”

Nikki Sixx to be dad again

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Sixx is set to be a father for the fifth time.
The 60-year-old rocker – who already has Gunner, 27, Storm, 24, and Decker, 23, with first wife Brandi Brandt and Frankie-Jean, 17, with second spouse Donna D’Errico – and his wife Courtney will reportedly welcome their first child together into the world later this year and the Motley Crue bassist couldn’t be happier.
A source told RadarOnline.com: “Courtney is several months along, and Nikki is ecstatic!
“He is such a great father already, and she is going to be the best mom. She is so caring.”
The couple haven’t confirmed their happy news, but during their vacation in Mexico this week, the 33-year-old beauty shared a photo of her bump on Instagram, but removed the post shortly afterwards.
The ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ hitmaker proposed to Courtney in 2012 with a huge six-carat diamond ring and they went on to tie the knot two years later at the Greystone Estate in Beverly Hills, California, in a Marie Antoinette-themed wedding.
The model has previously admitted she was keen to have a child of her own with her musician husband.
She has said: “I am so excited to have my first baby with the love of my life.”
Meanwhile, Nikki has been busy in the studio with his bandmates working on music to soundtrack their upcoming biopic ‘The Dirt’, which is based on their infamous 2001 memoir of the same name.
Last summer, the bassist promised to “surprise” fans with the studio sessions they had been working on with producer Bob Rock.
He tweeted: “F**k can I just say it? I’m listening to the roughs of the new @MotleyCrue and it feels real and raw.Everybody is playing like mad and the songs crush. Bob Rock brought the sounds. Plus we have a surprise that will confirm that we’re outta our minds. (sic)”
When a fan questioned how “new” the songs could be if they are in a movie about the group’s “past”, the 59-year-old rock star replied: “You can trust us these are ball busters. Everybody can relax. Were soon gonna smack you upside the head with some killer new tracks. Bob Rock is producing. Its our movie. We know what were doing. (sic)”
‘The Dirt’ features an all-star cast including Douglas Booth (Nikki), Machine Gun Kelly (Tommy Lee), Iwan Rheon (Mick Mars), Daniel Webber (Vince Neil) and Tony Cavalero as Ozzy Osbourne.

Macaulay Culkin had normal friendship with Michael Jackson

OHMYGOSSIP — Macaulay Culkin had a “normal” friendship with the late Michael Jackson.
The ‘Home Alone’ actor insists there was nothing “weird” about the bond he had with the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker and he’ll always be thankful that the King of Pop – who died of acute Propofol intoxication in 2009 – “reached out” to him when he shot to fame at the age of just 10.
Speaking to Michael Rosenbaum on his ‘Inside of You’ podcast, he said: “He reached out to me because a lot of things were happening, big and fast with me and I think he identified with that.
“At the end of the day, it’s almost easy to say it was weird or whatever, but it wasn’t because it made sense. At the end of the day, we were friends…
“For me, it’s so normal and mundane. I know it’s a big deal to everyone else, but to me, it was a normal friendship.”
When the host pointed out there was a 22-year age gap between the two of them, Macaulay insisted he was a “peerless person” and no other children he knew could relate to his experiences.
He said “Nobody else in my Catholic school had even this much idea of what I was going through and he was the kind of person who’d been through the exact same frickin’ thing and wanted to make sure I wasn’t alone.”
He also praised the ‘Beat It’ hitmaker as “hilarious, sweet and funny” and recalled how he used to enjoy making prank calls.
He added: “He was f**king hilarious. He was charming, f**king funny, silly.”
The 38-year-old actor also reflected on the volatile relationship he had with his own father, Kit Culkin, who he said was a “mean b*****d” who should never have had children.
Macaulay – who is the third of seven children – said: “He was a complicated man. Honestly, he was a mean b*****d. He really shouldn’t have been a father, to be honest.”
The ‘My Girl’ star admitted he was hit with a switch, belt and even a spatula by his parents, and said his dad was never a loving person.
He added: “The word proud never came across his lips.”
Macaulay hasn’t spoken to his dad in around “23 years”, though Kit attempted to reconnect around 20 years ago.
However, the star isn’t upset about the estrangement.
He said: “It’s the way it’s supposed to be.
“Here’s the thing, I love me man, I think I’m frickin cool and awesome, I wouldn’t want to change a thing. I’m happy.”

Robbie Williams hires chef

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams has hired a personal chef to prepare his Weight Watchers meals.
The ‘Rock DJ’ singer was recently announced as the new face of the weight loss and fitness company, which has been rebranded as WW, and he’s already feeling “great” and “mentally more alert” after sticking to their food plan – but he’s facing criticism for bringing in nutritionist ‘Super Kaitlyn’ to help him
get the balance right.
He said in a video blog: “This is f***ing great. I am doing this. So that is week one done. I am feeling healthy, I am feeling fitter, my blood is pumping. I am feeling good, mentally more alert. Mood more stable, this is working, guys.”
WW’s users are meant to count their own ‘smart points’ as part of their Freestyle Plan in order to shed the pounds with healthier meals so the 44-year-old star’s decision to feature his chef in the video has been slammed.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “The point of the plan is for members to learn how to do it themselves, so bringing in a nutritionist or chef defeats the point, really. Nobody is expecting Robbie to be a top-class chef, but he could have been a bit more discreet about the extra help he’s getting.”
The ‘X Factor’ judge – who has children Teddy, six, Charlie, four, and Colette, four months, with wife Ayda Field – is also planning to release cookery lesson videos with Kaitlyn on his blog.
The ‘Angels’ hitmaker decided to join the WW family to go on a “wellness journey” so he can get “fit and healthy” for his family, friends and fans.
He previously said: “WW is the first programme that truly feels like it fits with my life. After my back injury last year, I definitely let my healthy habits slip and I felt as though I let myself and my family down. I can’t keep trying the same things and hoping for a different outcome. I trust the history of behaviour science that WW has, and I’m proud to be a new ambassador. Hopefully, others will benefit from my experience.”
And he wrote on Twitter: “Next year I want to get fit and healthy for my family, friends & fans & WW will be my partner on this wellness journey. As a #WWambassador, I’m joining millions around the world building healthy habits for real life. Why are YOU are getting healthy? #MyWhy #ForEveryBody @ww_uk (sic)”

Adam Woodyatt shelves London Marathon training for tax return

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Woodyatt has been putting off London Marathon training to do his tax return.
The ‘EastEnders’ star is to run the 26.2-mile race on April 28 as part of a running team, Barbara’s Revolutionaries, alongside several of his co-stars, including Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Fowler) and Jake Wood (Max Branning), for former Albert Square resident Dame Barbara Windsor, but he is yet to don his running gear for a practice.
He said: “I’m looking forward to the training. I should’ve started this week but I had to do the VAT.
“It will start, I promise.
“I’m starting soon … I’ve done it before, I’m going to stick to the same schedule.
“I got round once, I really enjoyed it. I know what I need to do to get through the day. Training!”
Barbara’s Revolutionaries are aiming to raise £100,000 for Dementia Revolution – a year-long campaign from Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK – by taking on the Marathon in support of the former ‘Enders’ actress, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2014.
And Barbara – who played Peggy Mitchell in the soap from 1994 to 2016 – is planning to be there at the end of the Marathon to greet her co-stars.
Adam said: “The plan is we’re all going to stick together.
“She’s not going to be there at the start but we’re hoping she will be there at the finish.
“That’s also a reason why we’ve got to all finish together.
“It’s a fantastic day. If people have got a place in the ballot but haven’t picked a charity want to join us …”
As well as Adam and Jake, Tanya Franks (Rainie Branning), Emma Barton (Honey Mitchell), Jamie Borthwick (Jay Brown), Jane Slaughter (Tracey the barmaid), and Kellie Shirley, who previously played Carly Wicks, make up the running team alongside Barbara’s husband Scott Mitchell, who has been training hard for the event.
Adam explained: “When I first said to be Scott about it back in June I said, ‘Let’s get together, let’s do the Marathon. We don’t have to run it, we can walk it.’
“Scott is going out training virtually every day, he’s just off.”
Speaking in a joint interview with Adam on ‘Lorraine’, Kellie added: “It’s for a great cause, she’s a great woman. It’s been really good for all of us, I’m really loving training.”

EastEnders’ Danny Dyer up for Lady Di tattoo

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer would love to get a tattoo of ‘EastEnders’ bulldog Lady Di on his arm.
The 41-year-old actor admits he would go under the needle to have his character Mick Carter’s pet pooch inked onto his bicep if he had to get a tat of any of the Walford residents, despite admitting it may be “a bit tacky” walking around with a bulldog on his arm.
When a fan asked who he would get a tattoo off, he said: “It’s very simple for me, Lady Di.
“It might sound a bit tacky but a nice, big bulldog on my arm. Very simple.”
Danny is up for the Serial Drama Performance accolade at the upcoming National Television Awards, and there looks to be plenty of time for more nods as he isn’t planning to depart Albert Square anytime soon.
He said: “I ain’t goin’ nowhere. Unfortunately, it’s not really my decision to make. It’s the powers that be.
“As long as they want Mick around, and as long as Mick’s involved in storylines that are inspiring and stuff that I really enjoy playing, and I’ve got my Carter little mob around me, I ain’t goin’ nowhere.
“It’s a great job, very grateful for it. As long as they want me, I’m here.”
Danny admits it is a “blessing” that he gets to work alongside Kellie Bright, who plays Mick’s wife Linda Carter, every day, and says the pair – who joined the soap together in December 2013 – have “got each other’s backs”.
Speaking on a video Q&A posted on EastEnders’ official Twitter account, he added: “With Kellie we came into the show together so we’ve grown together within the show as characters, as human beings.
“I have got the closest connection to her. We love playing Mick and Linda. It’s such a beautiful, complex relationship, so I think the fact I get to work with one of my very good friends every day is a blessing.
“We’re always rooting for each other and we’ve got each other’s backs. That’s very important in our industry.”

Ed Sheeran’s God-given talent

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran believes his musical talent is a gift from God.
The ‘Photograph’ hitmaker admitted he was a “weird kid” who had a lot of medical problems when he was younger but he thinks his abilities to sing and play guitar balanced things out and he’s now happy about his flaws because they “rounded” him.
He said: “I was a weird kid. I had a massive birthmark round my eye, had to get it lasered off, which f***ed my retina, and I have a lazy eye.
“That’s why I hate red carpet photos,t here’s always one where there’s an eye going over there.
“I had NHS glasses, a wonky eye, a stutter and a missing ear drum.
“I couldn’t swim unless I wore sports goggles which had a flicky thing at the top that everyone said was a penis.
“All the cool kids in primary school aren’t doing a lot now and I’ve come out of it a hit.
“My view on it is God looked down one day and was like, ‘F***ing hell, you need some help mate, here’s a guitar.’
“I’m glad I had all that and I appreciate it now. It rounded me as an individual.”
But the 27-year-old star knows he wouldn’t have got where he is today without hard work and persistence.
He told Q magazine: “Persistence gets you wherever you want to go.
“My dad always said, ‘Nothing ventured, nothing gained.’ It was never, ‘It either works or it doesn’t’, you don’t stop until it works, basically.
“I applied that to the ‘Thinking Out Loud’ video, rehearsing five hours a day thinking, ‘Why the f**k am I learning to dance? I make the music, someone else can dance.’
“But I set out to do it and I did it. If you feel like you should do something but it’s a risk, just f***ing do it. If it’s positive, obviously. Don’t do anything bad!”

Normani loves listening to Waves

OHMYGOSSIP — Normani plays her own song ‘Waves’ “over and over again”.
The former Fifth Harmony singer collaborated with 6LACK on the track and while she often gets “annoyed” hearing her own voice, she hasn’t got tired of the single yet.
She said: “I really do try my best in terms of being in the studio to be as honest as I can be as an artist.
“That’s my only job at the end of the day, and I feel like that’s what I did with this record because it doesn’t get old. I play it over and over again, which sometimes I get annoyed with – hearing my own voice that many times. But this record, it doesn’t get old.”
The 22-year-old singer revealed the track was one of the first she recorded for her solo album and she loves the “different phases” records go through before they are complete.
She told Billboard magazine: “It was one of the first records that I recorded. My favourite part as an artist is just seeing how many different phases a record can go through before actually being done.”
When ‘Waves’ was complete, Normani played it for her parents before anyone else because her dad is her “biggest fan” and “cheerleader”.
Meanwhile, Normani recently admitted she feels a “responsibility” as a black woman to do well in her solo career.
She said: “There’s so much that I have to get off my chest. And there’s a responsibility I have as a black woman – one of the very few to have the power to kill it. Even in the mainstream, there’s not many of us.”
