OHMYGOSSIP — James McAvoy admires the “dedication” of Hollywood hunks like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Hugh Jackman and Chris Hemsworth after he was required to get into action man shape for ‘Glass’.
The 39-year-old actor hired personal trainer Magnus Lygdback – who oversaw Gal Gadot’s regime for the sequel ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ and Alicia Vikander’s exercises for ‘Tomb Raider – to help him achieve the required physique for his role as multiple-personality sufferer Kevin Wendell Crumb as he knew he would be spending much of M. Night Shyamalan’s movie with his shirt off.
After putting in so much hard work in the gym, McAvoy has nothing but respect for the leading men who have to be in that sort of condition for every movie they make.
In an interview with USA Today, he said: “I was like, ‘OK. I’m going to have my shirt off, aren’t I?’ And (Shyamalan) was like, ‘Yep.’
“Guys like The Rock and Hugh Jackman and Chris Hemsworth – the guys who keep themselves in that condition every day. That dedication is incredible.”
One of Kevin’s split personalities is the monstrous Beast and it was that dark, animal-like persona which required him to be in super shape.
He said: “I knew I had to get down in the gym and kind of back up his name. I had to give a little bit of aesthetic credibility to that fear that he’s supposed to inspire in people. You’re in every day working your socks off (acting), and you’re also in the gym at five in the morning and then pretty much working out on set whenever you are the Beast to get you all pumped up and get your veins popping and get the relevant muscles swollen for the shot.”
“He’s not like a supervillain in most movies who is like, ‘I look like I’ve got a six pack and I’m going to destroy the world!’ He is not a megalomaniacal, despotic human. He is alien. He is animal. He is other than human. Just standing still as the Beast was tiring in a way that no other character is.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona is reportedly back with her ex-boyfriend Ryan Mahoney.
The former Atomic Kitten singer split from Ryan last October, however, according to a report on The Sun Online, the pair have rekindled their romance and Kerry even thinks he could be “The One”, despite her upcoming appearance on E4 matchmaking show ‘Celebs Go Dating’.
A source told the publication: “Kerry has been telling friends she’s in love with Ryan and believes he is ‘The One’. The couple briefly split at the end of October before Kerry was confirmed for ‘Celebs Go Dating’ – but they have since rekindled their romance despite her filming for the series. They haven’t exactly been discrete about keeping their relationship under wraps as Ryan was spotted at Kerry’s house and even driving her car last week.
“She doesn’t want to put her place on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ at risk by fully going public – but there’s no doubt she will after filming has come to an end.”
Kerry – who has kids Molly, 17, and Lilly-Sue, 15, with first husband Brian McFadden; Heidi, 11, and Maxwell, 10, with second spouse Mark Croft; and Dylan-Jorge, five, with third hubby George Kay – previously said she was heading on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ to find a “new daddy” for her children and joked she will get her “t*ts” out on the series, but will not snog anyone on TV for fear of embarrassing her brood.
The 38-year-old blonde said: “My Molly said, ‘Mum, by all means do the show but if you put your tongue down anyone’s throat I will never speak to you again.’
“Someone said to me I’d be the talk of the playground and I said, ‘I don’t give a s**t about the mums but what I do give a s**t about is what the kids will be saying to my kids in the classroom.’

OHMYGOSSIP — Barbra Streisand cancelled an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ because she wasn’t going to be filmed from her best side.
The 76-year-old Hollywood icon scrapped a planned appearance on the US chat show at late notice because bosses wouldn’t accommodate her peculiar request, according to late-night star Jimmy Kimmel.
During an interview on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’, the host asked: “If a guest wants you to swap around your set so the camera gets their best side, do you refuse? I’ve had to switch seats for Mariah Carey four times.”
Jimmy replied: “I’ve had a guest ask for that and I said no.”
Then, Andy asked: “Really? Was it Streisand?
And Jimmy said: “Yes.”
The 51-year-old TV host also said Barbra didn’t have any hesitation in cancelling her appearance.
He recalled: “It was the condition. The condition was we couldn’t talk about the fact that we’d switched around and I was like, ‘I just don’t see how this will work.’ ”
Barbra has never been afraid to be demand what she wants professionally and in her personal life and she previously claimed her attitude has “scared” a lot of men during her career.
The chart-topping star has always been extremely ambitious and opinionated, and Barbra confessed that her assertive approach to life has also alienated some people.
The ‘Evergreen’ hitmaker – who has been married to actor James Brolin since 1998 – shared: “I didn’t want to stay in my place.
“I started out wanting to be an actress and I got to acting through my singing. But then that wasn’t enough. I wanted to shape things,
“I wanted to write. I wanted to direct. I wanted to produce. I wanted to make decisions. And that got me into trouble.
“A woman in control: that scared men. It scared other women! They weren’t ready for it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard E. Grant is “overwhelmed” with his Oscar nomination.
The 63-year-old actor took to his Twitter account on Tuesday (22.01.19) to share his joy over Best Supporting Actor nod for his performance as Jack Hock in the crime drama ‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?’ at this year’s Academy Awards and shot a video in front of the first bedsit he ever lived at in London to express his sheer joy to be put recognised for his work.
Speaking in the video, he said: “I’m absolutely overwhelmed, 36 years ago I rented this bedsit here which was one room in Notting Hill Gate which was 30 pounds a week about 50 dollars and I cannot believe that 36 years later I’m standing here as nearly a 62-year-old man having an Oscar nomination. ”
The ‘Logan’ star went on to thank the Academy, along with his co-star Melissa McCarthy and the film’s director Marielle Heller for their help in allowing him to give the best performance he could on screen.
In the video’s caption, he wrote: “Am levitating at this astonishing news. Thank you to @TheAcademy for this nomination in such incredible company.
“I’m indebted to so many people but most of all @melissamccarthy & Marielle Heller @cyefm @SearchlightUK (sic)”
The ‘Withnail and I’ actor also thanked the movie’s casting director Jennifer Euston, who had originally cast him in HBO drama series ‘Girls’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Michaela Strachan says ‘Winterwatch’ is “not Disney” and viewers need to be prepared to have their hearts broken by the harsh reality of nature.
The 52-year-old animal enthusiast has emphasised that the BBC wildlife series – which she hosts with Chris Packham and Gillian Burke – shows wildlife as it is and unfortunately not all stories have fairytale endings.
Michaela told Radio Times magazine: “We’re not Disney. Last ‘Springwatch’ we had a little owl and a black-bird in the same barn. When the blackbird’s eggs hatched, the little owl got them all. It’s heart-wrenching watching it, but that’s life.
“The worst example, was when we had a big nest of baby rabbits in a pile of straw and we thought, ‘Great, let’s get some live cameras on them!’ But they were all eaten – and viciously – by crows, blackbirds, magpies. We had complaints. So we’ve decided that if we have anything as horrific as that again we will say, ‘This is difficult to watch, so turn away if you don’t want to see it.’
“But it’s like watching a really dramatic film and the main character dies, and you cry, and it’s awful, but you come out of the cinema and say, ‘That was brilliant.’ You want to feel something, don’t you?’ ”
The former ‘Really Wild Show’ presenter also revealed that her and her co-star go through Twitter when the show has finished airing to see if fans pick up on their mistakes live on air.
She said: “Chris and I have got to the stage where flick through Twitter after the show and say, “Oh come on… Where are the complaints?’ I got the wrong name for a kingfisher once. Of course I know what a kingfisher is! But sometimes the wrong word just comes out of your mouth. And if nobody picks you up on it you think, ‘Is anybody listening?’ So we’re always happy for people to correct us.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rami Malek found his Oscar nomination “incredibly shocking”.
The 37-year-old actor has received his first Academy Awards nod for Actor in a Leading Role – which he will contest against Christian Bale (‘Vice’), Bradley Cooper (‘A Star Is Born’), Willem Dafoe (‘At Eternity’s Gate’) and Viggo Mortensen (‘Green Book’) – thanks to his performance in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and though he admitted landing a place on the shortlist seemed “more attainable” after he recently won a Golden Globe for his work on the movie, it still wasn’t something he expected.
Asked if he thought he would get a nomination following his Globe win, he said: “I guess at that point, you start to consider it.
“I’m always so thankful that I get to be a working actor. The percentage of people who get to do this is so small that getting accolades like this seems so distant always, whether you’ve received awards in the past or not.
“But I think perhaps after getting the Globe, it seemed more attainable — but there’s something about hearing the words that you’re an Oscar nominated actor that are still going to be incredibly shocking.
“It’s a profoundly humbling moment for me.
The nominations were announced on Tuesday (21.01.19) morning – but Rami hadn’t realised when they would be revealed so it’s made his day even more “magical”.
He told Entertainment Weekly: “I’m in Paris working, so I didn’t realise it was today, because I try never to ask anybody when these moments are. Then the telephone started fluttering away, and it’s a beautiful snowy day, so there’s something quite magical the way it’s happening.
“It’s just something you never expect to happen. It’s like a distant dream that actors have and hope for to some degree. But it’s never really felt in the realm of possibilities — it’s a pretty joyous occasion to say the least.”
The 91st Academy Awards take place on February 24.

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B has suggested she wants to move back in with Offset.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker split from the Migos rapper in December but they’ve been spotted together since then and now the 26-year-old star has admitted she wants to go back to the way things were before.
She shared a screenshot of a FaceTime chat with Offset and their six-month-old daughter Kulture and captioned the post: “I wanna go home.”
Her admission comes shortly after it was claimed the former couple were working on their marriage after Offset pledged to change his ways.
Cardi has yet to put her wedding ring back on but sources close to the couple say she isn’t quite ready emotionally to do so.
Rumours that the pair had got back together were rife at the end of last month when they were seen holidaying in Puerto Rico.
A source said at the time: “Cardi B wants Offset to be a part of Kulture’s life and wants him to spend Christmas with his daughter. It’s Kulture’s first Christmas and it means a lot to Cardi to have the family together … She plans to spend time and celebrate the holiday [in the Dominican Republic].”
Offset has made a number of public gestures to get Cardi back, with the most recent one when he crashed his estranged wife’s set at Rolling Loud festival in Los Angeles, along with a huge ‘Take Me Back Cardi’ sign made out of white and red roses. Although she rejected his apology, he still thinks it was the right thing to do.
He tweeted recently: “All of my wrongs have been made public, i figure It’s only right that my apologies are made public too. A n***a was just trying …..thank god I ain’t got no balloons sheeesh (sic)”
And Cardi previously shared plans to “reset” in 2019.
She said: “Everything is good! I’m very excited for 2019 – I just feel like it’s going to be a reset. 2018 was the good, bad, and the ugly year, a lot of good, a lot of bad, a lot of ugly all mixed together.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Jessica Parker found it “slightly peculiar” portraying Carrie Bradshaw again.
The 53-year-old actress teased the return of her iconic ‘Sex and the City’ character – who she last played in the second spin-off movie in 2010 – earlier this week and now her mystery project has been revealed as a Stella Artois commercial in aid of non-profit Water.org.
In the ad, which is set to the show’s theme, the actress pays homage to the franchise’s opening scene, donning a gold jacket and light blue tutu – a nod to the pink she wore in the ‘SATC’ opening – and gets splashed by a bus, which says “1 bottle = 1 month of clean water”, rather than the “Carrie Bradshaw knows good sex” and her photo that is shown in the series, and she admitted it was “really fun” getting back into character.
She told HuffPost: “It’s been a while. It was really fun. Slightly peculiar in the best possible way. It was especially meaningful because the purpose was to amplify this initiative.”
Sarah agreed to get on board because of both the creativity of the advert and the cause itself.
She said: “I think just being right and clever about how they wanted to present Carrie for this particular idea — I relied upon their good taste and the subversive nature of it.
“I think it’s smart. … In the past, you have a script and you have all the words you need to remind you if you’ve been away for a while. But this felt like an alternate universe. I was surrounded by smart and good people. It was really easy and really fun.”
Meanwhile, Matt Damon – who founded Water.org in 2009 to help provide clean drinking water in developing countries – was delighted to get the ‘Divorce’ actress on board for Stella Artois’ Pour It Forward initiative.
He said: “”It’s going to have everyone’s attention … and that’s a huge megaphone she’s using to help this cause…
“As Carrie Bradshaw trades in her cosmo for a Stella, that’s huge for us. And so it’s all part of this same effort to really scale.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Katherine Schwarzenegger is “super happy” about her engagement to Chris Pratt.
The ‘Jurassic World’ actor proposed to the 29-year-old author earlier this month after six months of dating and though she doesn’t want her family to spill the details of her relationship, her mother Maria Shriver – who has Katherine, Christina, 27, Patrick, 25, and Christopher, 21, with former husband Arnold Schwarzenegger – admitted her oldest child couldn’t be happier.
Speaking on ‘Today’, Maria said: “She’s super happy and gave me super strict instructions not to talk about it … It’s not my moment.
“She wants to have her moment.”
Maria previously publicly congratulated the couple on their engagement via a comment on Instagram.
She wrote: “Congratulations to two loving, kind, caring, thoughtful, spiritual people. We are so happy for you. You are blessed, as is everyone who knows you. Yes, let’s go.”
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old star’s ex-wife, Anna Faris, has also sent her blessings to the couple – and even offered to officiate their wedding.
She said: “Chris texted me this morning and he was like, ‘I proposed to Katherine last night.’ And I was like, ‘Ahh, that’s amazing.’ I texted him back like, ‘I just wanted to remind you I’m an ordained minister.’ ”
And the ‘Mom’ actress – who has son Jack, six, with Chris – is “so happy” the couple were able to “find” one another because she thinks they’re so well suited.
She added: “I’m so happy for them. I knew that it was gonna happen and I love her and I love him and I’m just so happy that they found each other.”
It was recently claimed the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ after “instantly” felt close to his fiancee’s family and it helped their relationship grow quickly.
A source said: “For someone on the outside, it might seem their engagement came too quickly. But for everyone close to them, it feels like they have been dating much longer than they actually have.
“They never had a typical relationship. It very much helped that Chris already knew Maria. They didn’t have to take things slowly because they were getting to know each other’s families. Katherine’s family instantly treated Chris like a family member.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Cannon has criticised Travis Scott for his decision to perform during the Super Bowl half-time show.
The 38-year-old star claimed the ‘Astroworld’ hitmaker has come under fire more than fellow performer Big Boi for agreeing to join Maroon 5 at the upcoming NFL flagship game because he hasn’t proved he is “for the people”.
Speaking to Raquel Harper from BET’s ‘Raq Rants’, Nick admitted he backs exiled footballer Colin Kaepernick – who started the #TakeAKnee movement, which saw him and several other players refuse to stand during the national anthem at games in protest against police brutality and racial injustice – and believes in “cultural equity”.
He said: “I’m team Kaepernick all day.
“To me, I call it cultural equity. So we’re not mad at Big Boi for being on the Super Bowl. He’s for the people. But someone like Travis Scott, he’s got to walk gingerly.”
Asked what “for the people” means, he said: “It’s more about truly having integrity to who you are in your music, your art form, the people you choose to interact with, the people you choose to procreate with.”
But the ‘Wild ‘N Out’ hitmaker – who has twins Moroccan and Monroe, seven, with ex-wife Mariah Carey – insisted he wasn’t “mad” at Travis for having 11-month-old daughter Stormi with girlfriend Kylie Jenner, though he admitted he didn’t see his relationship as being “for the culture” either.
He said: “That decision [having Stormi] wasn’t for the culture but we’re not mad at you!
“I love white women, let’s set the record straight. But that’s the thing, it’s cultural equity at the end of the day.”
It was previously claimed Travis had spoken to Colin before agreeing to perform at the Super Bowl and they had come to a “mutual understanding”.
However, the sportsman later retweeted a post from Hot 97’s Ebro Darden, who denied Colin had approved the performance.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Turner has told her friends how ‘Game of Thrones’ ends.
The 22-year-old actress – who portrays Sansa Stark in the HBO drama series – admitted she is “terrible” at keeping secrets and couldn’t even blame being drunk for giving the gossip on the eighth and final season of the show to her pals.
She said: “I’m so bad at keeping secrets. I don’t think people tell me things anymore because they know that I can’t keep them. I’ve already told the ending of ‘Game of Thrones’ to a few people.
“[I was] sober. I was like, ‘Hey, if you want to know, I’ll tell you.’ But it’s people that I know, not random people. It’s people that I know will keep the secret.”
Sophie – who is engaged to Joe Jonas – used to dye her hair red for the show, but in later series opted to wear a wig, and though it was easier to maintain, it’s caused problems with her natural locks.
She told W magazine: “It gets very greasy. It never used to be like that. I think it’s because I wear a wig on ‘Game of Thrones’, so the glue gets stuck in my hair, so I had to wash it every day and my hair is now used to that.
“If it’s any longer than two days, it gets greasy.”
The British star wasn’t interested in keeping the wig and the only souvenir she took from the set was one of her raciest costumes, though she isn’t too sure what to do with it.
She said: “I didn’t want to keep [the wig]. I was like, ‘Goodbye!’
“The only thing I kept was a corset from the show. I wouldn’t have wanted that wig.
“I was thinking about framing it, but people might think it’s a bit weird. Wearing it would be weird. And it’s not the one that covers your boobs.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Stone will be “forever indebted” to ‘The Favourite’ director Yorgos Lanthimos.
The 30-year-old actress was “grateful every day” she worked on the movie – which has been nominated for 10 Academy Awards – and praised the work of the filmmaker and her “brilliant” co-stars, Olivia Colman and Rachel Weisz.
Emma – who is nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role alongside Rachel – said in a statement: “Working on ‘The Favourite’ alongside my brilliant friends Olivia Colman, Rachel Weisz and the whole cast was nothing short of incredible.
“I was grateful every day and am honoured by this nomination. Yorgos created a palace for us all to play in.
“I am forever indebted to him and the whole team that brought this insane vision to life. Thank you to Fox Searchlight for their invaluable support and thank you to the Academy for recognising our work.”
Rachel has also sent her congratulations to Emma, Best Actress in a Leading Role nominee Olivia, Best Director hopeful Yorgos, and the rest of the team who worked on the film, admitting she felt “immensely proud” to have been a part of the production.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga “burst into tears” when she found out she’d been nominated for two Academy Awards.
The 32-year-old singer-and-actress didn’t set an alarm for 5.30am when the nominations were announced on Tuesday (22.01.19), so it was down to her manager to break the news she’d been shortlisted for both the Actress in a Leading Role for ‘A Star is Born’ and Best Original Song for ‘Shallow’ once she’d woken woken up.
Gaga – who is in Los Angeles for a brief break before her Las Vegas residency resumes – told the New York Times newspaper: “I’ve been trying to get some sleep because I’m on showbiz time.
“I woke up around 8:30 and I didn’t know anything about it. [My manager told me and I] just burst into tears.”
Gaga is the first person to be nominated for the two Academy Awards in the same year and she’s very proud of her achievement.
She said: “To be recognised as the lead actress and a musician at the same time, I can’t tell you what that means to me.”
Even a steady stream of congratulatory texts didn’t rouse the ‘Alejandro’ hitmaker.
She admitted: “I can sleep through just about anything.”
However, Gaga -whose real name is Stefani Germanotta – quickly caught up on her messages and was particularly grateful for the ones sent by her family.
She said: “The ones that mean the most to me are the ones that come from my family.
“These are not Oscar nominations for me, these are Oscar nominations for the Germanottas. I come from an Italian-immigrant family, and this feels like a very big win for them. This film was a lot of hard work, and I wouldn’t know that hard work if I didn’t know the hard work of the lineage of my family.”
When it comes to celebrating her nominations, Gaga is planning to spend the evening watching her “dear friend”, Sir Elton John, in concert.
She said: “Well, tonight I’m very much looking to see my dear friend Elton John play here in Los Angeles for his farewell tour.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Brown is free to leave France after being released from police custody.
The ‘Yeah 3x’ singer and two other men, including his bodyguard, were arrested in Paris on Monday (21.01.19) after a 24-year-old woman made an allegation of rape and though he’s been given the all-clear to return to the US, the investigation is not over.
The prosecutor’s office told TMZ: “The investigations, which are not closed at this stage, will continue under the authority of the Paris prosecutor’s office.”
The prosecutors confirmed the 29-year-old star is free to leave France, having been released from custody on his own recognisance, without bail.
The two other men who were arrested have also been let go.
The official announcement comes after Chris took to Instagram to protest his innocence against the allegations.
The ‘Loyal’ hitmaker – who has four-year-old daughter Royalty from a past relationship – shared a photo on Instagram which read “This B!tch Lyin’ ” and added the caption: “I WANNA MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR…… THIS IS FALSE AND A WHOLE LOT OF CAP!
“NNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!! FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY FAMILY THIS IS SO DISPRESPECTFUL AND IS AGAINST MY CHARACTER AND MORALS!!!!!(sic)”
The alleged victim has claimed she was attacked in Chris’ suite at the five star Mandarin Oriental hotel on January 15.
In her police statement, which was obtained by French magazine Closer, she claims she met the singer – who has been accompanied on his France trip by girlfriend Ammika Harris – at Le Crystal club, near Les Champs-Elysees, and went him back to the hotel, after she and a friend were both invited there by the ‘Run It’ hitmaker and the other two men.
She then claims she was separated from her friend and ended up alone with the singer, which is when the alleged crime took place.
According to reports, Chris and the other three men were arrested at his hotel and have been co-operating with their lawyers.

OHMYGOSSIP — Brooklyn Beckham has “tried to reach out” to his ex-girlfriend Lexy Panterra.
The 19-year-old photographer – who is the son of David and Victoria Beckham – might have recently been spotted hand-in-hand with his new girlfriend Hana Cross, but his former partner Lexy has claimed he tried to get back in contact with her, although she’s “ignoring” his attempts.
Lexy said: “There’s a zero chance of us getting back together or talking. He tried to reach out to me but I’m pretty much ignoring it.”
The 29-year-old singer also revealed she “just walked away” from the relationship – which lasted just two months after the pair were first linked in May 2018 – because she found their long distance romance to be a struggle.
When asked on ‘The Domenick Nati Show’ how things ended between her and Brooklyn, she explained: “Just walked away. It was a long distance thing and it wasn’t working out. He’s really young and obviously I realised that. So it just didn’t work.”
Lexy’s comments come after Brooklyn was seen last month at The Fashion Awards in London with his model beau Hana Cross.
The duo partied at a private residence in North London after attending the star-studded awards ceremony, and Hana later shared an Instagram video of herself and Brooklyn in which she kisses him on the cheek.
Brooklyn got together with Lexy after his split from girlfriend Chloe Moretz in early 2018, having being on and off for three years.
The 21-year-old actress had previously insisted the pair were right for each other.
She said: “I think we chose each other. It’s been years now off and on and it’s just one of those things, you come back and it’s like no time spent away from each other at all.
“I think that’s the most important thing and your lives are an open book. We like to have our own little private world and I think that’s important for both of us.”
