Matthew McConaughey says Anne Hathaway is a true friend

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew McConaughey admits Anne Hathaway is one of his few true friends in the movie business.
The Oscar-winning actor and Anne, 36, have reunited to star in the Steven Knight-directed thriller ‘Serenity’, having previously appeared together in ‘Interstellar’, and Matthew revealed they also have a good off-screen relationship.
He said: “For me, this business and relations at work are transitory.
“By design you’re closer with most people at the time when you’re working because it’s intense. You’re working together and then you go on a press tour and you’re around each other and you’re with each other’s families and then, poof, you go away. And I don’t have that many relationships that I maintain.
“Anne and I don’t call each other every week, (but) we do still keep in touch.”
Anne also admitted it was easier working with Matthew because of their history.
The brunette beauty told Den of Geek: “For me, it definitely helped knowing that we weren’t beginning on square one … that self-consciousness, maybe, that I feel when I’m getting to know someone, particularly someone I admire the way I do Matthew.
“It was nice to not have to go through that again. And to actually just go, okay, I know your process, you know my process.”
Matthew, 49, also hailed Anne’s approach to her work, describing the Academy Award-winning actress as a true “pro”.
He said: “For me, there was a trust that we didn’t talk about.
“I think we both just saw it. We met each other, we worked together, we saw how each other worked, we questioned each other, we argued with each other, we agreed with other, we disagreed with other. And it was solved.
“She’s a pro. And a pro, I can go on and on defining what a pro is, but a pro is all about ‘What is this scene about?'”

Michael B. Jordan and Kiki Layne ‘were super flirty’ in Utah nightclub

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael B. Jordan was reportedly seen being “super flirty” with Kiki Layne in a nightclub in Park City, Utah.
The 31-year-old actor – who stars as Adonis Creed in the ‘Creed’ franchise – was spotted by an onlooker sharing an enjoyable evening alongside the 27-year-old actress at the Tao nightclub pop-up.
The source told People: “Michael and Kiki were super flirty all night. He spent literally all night talking and focused on her.”
Michael arrived at the nigthtclub at around 11.30pm, and he initially spent the evening with fellow Hollywood star Gerard Butler.
But he subsequently turned his attention towards Kiki – who was also in Utah for the Sundance Film Festival – and they spent the rest of the night chatting enthusiastically to each other.
Meanwhile, Michael recently revealed that he is looking forward to becoming a father one day.
He said: “I love kids, man. I can’t wait to be in the right position to start a family of my own. I’m looking forward to the day that I start my own little tribe.”
The actor also revealed he sees himself as a “giver” – but claimed he’s now managed to strike a “nice little balance” between finding time for himself and also taking care of others.
Michael said: “For me, I’m always a giver.
“I’m a pleaser, you know, a fixer. I do a lot of things for other people. That’s something that just comes with me. It’s okay, it’s who I am.
“Obviously everyone has their own limits, but I think I’ve found a nice little balance between not spreading myself too thin and, at the same time, helping people.”

Richard E Grant needed to make movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard E. Grant “had” to make ‘Can You Ever Forgive Me?’.
The 61-year-old actor was instantly won over by the script for the drama – a true story about struggling biographer Lee Israel who began forging letters by dead celebrities – because of the way it captures the fragile bond between people, and thinks the friendship he struck up with co-star Melissa McCarthy was reflected in their performances on screen.
He said: “Friendships are so important to me but they are also fragile and the film captures that brilliantly.
“The script was so smartly written and compassionate, I had to do it.
“It’s based on the true story of Lee Israel and the friendship between her and my character, Jack Hock – two people who are essentially failing at life.
“They go through the cycle of friendship, the falling-in-love stage, the loyalty, then the inevitable betrayal and reconciliation, which is all the more poignant as Jack is dying of AIDS in the 1990s and we also got on really well, so that affected our performances and made our on-screen friendship doubly charged.”
The ‘Withnail and I’ star is “so grateful” for his career and can’t imagine retiring any time soon.
He told Psychologies magazine: “I’m so grateful for my career and I’m enjoying it for as long as it lasts.
“Other actors my age, such as Daniel Day-Lewis have retired and I could never imagine retiring now.
“I’ve heard that, as a method actor, he finds the process incredibly draining but I don’t take my characters home with me, I don’t have to live the life of that person, so it doesn’t drain me the same way.”

Dido had point to prove

OHMYGOSSIP — Dido became a solo singer to “prove a point” to her brother.
The ‘Thank You’ hitmaker was advised by Faithless’ Rollo not to give up her “respectable” job to pursue a music career because he felt there were a “million better singers” around who were struggling to find success.
She told Q magazine: “The way it worked back then was we were all in Swanyard Studios in Islington. There was Faithless, Pauline Taylor, and all these people making records.
“We all did our own thing and everyone else worked on everybody else’s stuff.
“So it came out of this really natural thing.
“And then I went to America and I definitely wanted to prove a point to my brother.
“I remember him saying, because I had a respectable job working in publishing, ‘Do not give up your job, don’t leave, singers don’t make it, there’s a million better singers than you.’ And that’s what gave me my drive!
“This whole thing might have been me going, ‘I’m gonna show my big brother.’ It’s all a big accident.
“I remember things kicking off with ‘No Angel’ and I think it was Maxi (Jazz, Faithless singer), cos he’d heard Rollo say the original thing, who said to him, ‘You might wanna take that back now.’ ”
The 47-year-old star used to sing backing vocals for Faithless before making it big alone and though she enjoyed not having the “responsibility” of being in the spotlight, she prefers being a solo artist.
She said: “I loved being with Faithless but as a solo artist we had such a good time and I had such a brilliant band.
“Faithless was really fun and I enjoyed it but doing my own thing was the best.
“In Faithless, I was just a backing vocalist, an utterly unimportant part of it all. There’s something nice about being part of the band without any of the responsibility though.”

Stacey Solomon stays fit with housework

OHMYGOSSIP — Stacey Solomon doesn’t need to exercise because housework is “enough” physical activity for her.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist – who has sons Zachary, 10, and six-year-old Leighton, from previous relationships – keeps fit and active by looking after her kids, who are homeschooled, and ensuring their home is clean and tidy.
She said: “I spend the morning doing housework. People assume everyone goes to the gym these days, but I hardly ever exercise, running around after the kids all day and hoovering the house is enough of a workout for me.”
When she isn’t working, the 29-year-old star loves nothing more than to chill out with her sons and her boyfriend Joe Swash at home.
She said: “Family is so important to me, so any free time I have is spent with them.
“I love getting home, putting on a pair of PJs and catching up with the boys and Joe.
“We have a ‘no phones at the table’ rule so that we can fully focus on chatting to one another during dinner.
“I’m the chef of the house and love making meals from scratch.”
However, Stacey often cuts short her evenings to get an early night, much to the former ‘EastEnders’ actor’s unhappiness.
She told Closer magazine: “Joe always moans at me to stay up later but I love my sleep.
“We’ll tend to watch a bit of TV together before heading to bed at around 9pm.”
While she loves her sleep, the former ‘X Factor’ contestant is also happy to get glammed up for a night out.
She said: “I love chilling in front of the TV, eating a takeaway. But I like getting glammed up too.”

Olivia Colman’s awards sickness

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Colman feels “sick to her stomach” before she attends award ceremonies.
The 44-year-old actress has already won a string of awards, and is nominated for several more, for her role as Queen Anne in ‘The Favourite’ and although she used to enjoy the celebratory evenings, she has gradually become more nervous as it’s “not just a night out anymore”.
In an interview with Empire magazine, she said: “The first one you ever go to is the best night ever. And then after that it gets more scary. I get more and more nervous. I feel sick to my stomach before I have to go.
“Because ‘What am I gonna say if I win?’ and I don’t think I should win, I think I should win’. It’s not just a night out anymore.”
Yargos Lanthimos’ 18th century black comedy received a total of ten nominations at the upcoming Academy Awards; including Best Picture, Best Director and both Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz – who play rivals both in love with Queen Anne – received nods for Best Supporting Actress.
The ‘Broadchurch’ actress’ first experience of an awards show was “amazing” as she went with her co-stars from sitcom ‘Peep Show’, but she admitted things are very different now because she can’t just “get p***ed and fall into a taxi” anymore.
She said: “The first time was the BAFTAs. ‘Peep Show’ was up for a BAFTA and we all went as a team and I felt like I’d come from out in the sticks and everything was amazing. ‘Look who’s over there!’ Now I’m still excited, but I’m not allowed to get p***ed and just fall into a taxi home. ”

Prince Philip writes letter of apology to crash victim

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Philip has written a letter of apology to the woman who broke her wrist in his car crash last week.
The 97-year-old royal has told Emma Fairweather he is “deeply sorry” after his Land Rover crashed into a Kia she was travelling in last week, causing her to suffer a broken wrist.
In a letter obtained by the Sunday Mirror newspaper, Philip wrote: “I would like you to know how very sorry I am for my part in the accident at the Babingley cross-roads.”
Philip – who is the husband of Queen Elizabeth II – then went on to explain that the bright sunlight made it difficult for him to see her car, and insisted that under “normal conditions” the accident wouldn’t have happened.
He continued: “I have been across that crossing any number of times and I know very well the amount of traffic that uses that main road. It was a bright sunny day and about three in the afternoon, the sun was low over the Wash. In other words, the sun was shining low over the main road. In normal conditions I would have no difficulty in seeing traffic coming from the Dersingham direction, but I can only imagine that I failed to see the car coming, and I am very contrite about the consequences.”
The royal says he was “somewhat shaken” following the crash, which caused his Land Rover to flip onto its side, and apologised for the injury Emma had suffered.
He wrote: “I was somewhat shaken after the accident, but I was greatly relieved that none of you were seriously injured. As a crowd was beginning to gather, I was advised to return to Sandringham House by a local Police Officer. I have since learned that you suffered a broken arm. I am deeply sorry about this injury.
“I wish you a speedy recovery from a very distressing experience.”
Emma – who was in the car with her friend Ellie Townsend and Ellie’s nine-month-old son – says she “appreciates” the apology.
She said: “He’s tried to give an explanation so I appreciate that, whether I agree with it or not. It is a difficult letter to write – to know what would be the right thing to say without making me more upset.”

The 50-year-old star is set to become a father for the first time when his baby boy is born via surrogate mother in just a few weeks, and he’s now celebrated the upcoming arrival with an extravagant baby shower, where he was surrounded by some of the biggest names from television network Bravo – where his show ‘Watch What Happens Live’ is broadcast.
The baby shower was held at The Palm Beverly Hills on Saturday (26.01.19) and was organised and hosted by several stars from the ‘Real Housewives’ franchise, including Kyle Richards, Vicki Gunvalson, Ramona Singer, NeNe Leakes, and Teresa Giudice.
Speaking to People magazine about the shower, Kyle said: “When he made the announcement, I could see in his face how happy and excited he is. I think he’s going to be a great dad. Ryan Sidebottom ‘gutted’ to be skipping Dancing on Ice due to injury

OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan Sidebottom is “gutted” to be missing out on Sunday’s (27.01.19) ‘Dancing on Ice’ live show due to injury.
The former England cricketer has suffered a Grade I adductor strain and won’t be performing during this week’s episode of the ITV ice dancing competition, and has said he’s devastated to be missing out on the chance to compete alongside the other celebrities.
In a statement, Ryan – who has been partnered with Brandee Malto – said: “Me and Brandee are of course very gutted not to be able to perform this weekend, but I’m focusing on getting back on the ice as quickly as I can. I want to thank everyone who has championed us so far, the support has been overwhelming.
“I’m also extremely grateful for all the support from my fellow contestants and I can’t wait to watch them all perform tomorrow night in the studio. I’ll be cheering them on!!”
Ryan’s injury – which is an injury to the groin muscles, and has been categorised as Grade I, which is the least serious level – means he will automatically go through to next week’s show, and won’t have to face the public vote for this week.
On Saturday (26.01.19), ITV confirmed the news in a statement which read: “Ryan Sidebottom has been ruled out of performing in tomorrow night’s show (Sunday 27th January) on medical grounds as a result of a Grade I adductor strain.
“As a result he will receive a bye to next weekend’s show. Everyone at the show wishes him a speedy recovery.”
Prior to his injury, Ryan admitted to relishing his ‘Dancing On Ice’ experience – even though it’s proven to be the “hardest thing” he’s ever done.
Ryan, 41 – who retired from cricket in 2017 – said: “Make no mistake, it’s definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done but it’s been so much fun and I’ve had such wonderful support from the public with many lovely messages on Twitter and Instagram.
“Skating is really difficult but I’m really enjoying the ride and am just trying to give it my best.”

Rihanna is ‘super close’ to finishing her album

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna is “super close” to finishing her long-awaited album.
The 30-year-old singer has kept fans waiting for new music for almost three years, since her last album ‘Anti’ in 2016, and according to The-Dream – who has worked with Rihanna since 2007 – her newest record is “about done”.
He said: “She’s cooking, she’s about done. She’s about done. Super close.”
And although the versatile songwriter refused to give any more details about the ‘Work’ hitmaker’s upcoming new music, he did also tease that Beyoncé is “doing something” in the studio too.
Speaking in an interview with Ebro Darden, he said: “She’s doing something. I actually haven’t talked to her about it – I’ve talked to the team about it because it’s kind of just being coordinated. But she’s doing something.”
For Rihanna, the news that her album is close to being finished comes after she recently teased her fans by joking that her Internet connection was poor when asked about the whereabouts of her new music.
The singer posted a video to her Instagram Stories that featured her waving a wad of cash, smiling and blowing a kiss to the camera and wrote: “‘Where the album?'”
“Me: sorry my connection poor. (sic)”
Meanwhile, Kuk Harrell – who worked with the star on ‘Anti’, as well as co-writing her hit songs ‘Umbrella’ and ‘Only Girl (In the World)’ – recently responded to one of the singer’s fans who asked for an update on Rihanna’s new music.
During an Instagram Live, they asked him: “How’s R9?”, to which he replied: “R9 is great. R9 is amazing. It’s incredible, And that’s all I’m going to say.”
Although The-Dream believes her record is almost finished, there has been no official announcement from Rihanna about a release date for her ninth studio album.

Megan Barton Hanson hits out at ‘fools’ after Wes Nelson split

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Barton Hanson has hit out at “fools” who have slammed her following her break-up with Wes Nelson.
The ‘Love Island’ star revealed on Saturday (26.01.18) that she and her boyfriend – whom she met on the ITV2 reality show – have ended their relationship, and after being contacted on social media by trolls claiming ‘Dancing on Ice’ star Wes could “do so much better”, she has taken to her Instagram Story to lash out.
One user responded to her break-up announcement and wrote: “Lollll he can do so much better than a rude jealous insecure plastic slapped like you… go Wes and Vanessa!!!! (sic)”
And Megan took a screenshot of the response, posting back on her story with the caption: “Wow i can’t catch a break this week! Hospitalised, Burgled, Public breakup and now these fools (sic)”
Megan and Wes’ split came after the blonde beauty had previously lashed out at Wes’ ‘Dancing on Ice’ partner Vanessa Bauer, after she claimed the professional ice skater was trying to come between the couple when she split with her own boyfriend on the same day she was due to take to the ice with Wes.
Days after her outburst, Megan was forced to miss Wes’ live performance on the ITV ice dancing competition after she was hospitalised with a kidney infection.
In her break-up statement, Megan wrote: “I am so grateful and so blessed to have found Wes, I will always love and adore him and I am so lucky to call him my best friend. It has been an incredibly hard decision to make for both of us but we are looking forward to moving on together as friends and supporting each other in everything we do.
“I will be down at Dancing On Ice tomorrow to watch him smash it again. Only one thing left to say, come on Wes and Vanessa!”

Debbie McGee wants to find love again

OHMYGOSSIP — Debbie McGee is “open to finding love again” following her breast cancer scare.
The 60-year-old star hasn’t been in a relationship since her late husband and magician Paul Daniels passed away in 2016, but has said her recent breast cancer scare – in which doctors had to remove two tumours from her left breast before thankfully giving her the all-clear – has made her consider “meeting someone else”.
She said: “I feel like I’m the luckiest person in the world. It’s made me think even more to make the most of today and I would say I’m open to finding love again. It’s the same with my career. I let things happen and that’s what I think about meeting someone else.
“If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. But how wonderful if it did.”
Debbie – who was her husband Paul’s assistant – even says her late spouse told her to find love again, before he passed away just one month after learning he had an incurable brain tumour.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star added: “He would want me to find love again, yeah. With him being so much older than me, we did talk about that.
“We used to joke because I had a great-uncle who married someone much younger than him – then she died of a brain haemorrhage suddenly before him, when she was quite young.
“So I always joked with Paul that could happen to me, or I could get run over by a car or something. And he said, ‘Yes, but the statistics are that it’s bound to be me first’.
“He always used to say, ‘But I know you’ll cope’. And he said, ‘I hope you do meet somebody else. I don’t want you to be on your own for the rest of your life’. He always said, ‘I know you’ll cope.’ ”
And although Debbie has been pictured with “mystery men”, she insists she hasn’t been on any dates since Paul passed away.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday newspaper, she said: “I’ve got male friends I’ve been to dinner with but I haven’t actually been on any dates.
“I haven’t had many offers because I think people have respect for you. Well, they certainly seem to with me! People are just lovely to me. I just always feel like I’m the luckiest person in the world.”

Diane Kruger won’t be tied down

OHMYGOSSIP — Diane Kruger has a “fear” of being “tied down”.
The ‘In the Fade’ actress – who has a two-month-old daughter with partner Norman Reedus – feels “anxious” if she doesn’t have stability in her life, but she also values her “personal freedom” and ability to change things if she’s unhappy.
She said: “I’ve always had a strong sense of personal freedom, you shouldn’t be afraid to change things if you’re not happy.
“I’ve moved around a lot and sometimes feel unsettled, it is important for me to have some stability and structure or I become anxious.
“But I also have a fear of being tied down.”
The 42-year-old star thinks her career has helped bring her out of her shell because she’s quite introverted in her everyday life.
She told Psychologies magazine: “I have a quiet side and I’m kind of wary with people I don’t know.
“That’s maybe why I love acting – because I become more extroverted when I’m working in the closed environment of a film set, and I get to throw myself into a character.
“I’ve always found so much satisfaction from being able to express myself through different characters and personalities – it opens me up.”
Diane often reassesses her career and her goal and often wonders whether she should move in a different direction.
She said: “I think we find ourselves questioning our lives and careers and whether it’s still possible to head in a new direction. As I get older, I wonder about those issues more often.”

Nicholas Hoult played Favourite games

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Favourite’ cast spent two weeks playing games before filming started.
Nicholas Hoult – who portrays politician Robert Harley in the period comedy-drama – admitted director Yorgos Lanthimos has a “bizarre, unconventional” way of making movies and rehearsals with his co-stars including Olivia Colman, Rachel Weisz, and Emma Stone involved running through their lines while undertaking bizarre tasks.
He recalled of the two-week period: “We’d have to say our lines, but someone was stood behind the person you were doing the scene with and they were dancing, and you had to copy their dance but not let it affect how you talk.
“Then we’d all get in line and walk in sync back and forth and say the scenes as quickly as possible, but after each line you’d have to say ‘what what’. And you’d do the whole scene like that.
“And he’d just watch for two weeks, no input or direction apart from what the game was.”
The 29-year-old actor admitted he had very little guidance on his character from the director.
He told ES magazine: ” I said in the audition, ‘What’s this character like, do you think?’ And he said, ‘I don’t know, we’ll see.’ And we never spoke about the character again.”
One of the things that attracted Nicholas to the movie was the witty script.
He said: “I’ve never read a period drama that was fun. They can be a bit of a slog.
“Sometimes there are incredible stories and incredible people but the dialogue can be really dry… Pretty much every line I get to say here is a dream. So that’s brilliant.”
The role is unlike anything the ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ star has taken on in the past and he admitted he deliberately looks for work that won’t leave him typecast.
He said: “I don’t want people to walk into a film thinking, oh, he’s in that so I know what he’s going to do. That’s boring for me and boring for them.”

Zachary Levi: I got to be myself while shooting Shazam!

OHMYGOSSIP — Zachary Levi got to be himself on “so many levels” whilst shooting ‘Shazam!’.
The 38-year-old actor stars as the titular superhero – who is otherwise known as 14-year-old boy Billy Batson, who can transform into the adult superhero – in the upcoming DCEU movie, and has said he barely had to act in the feature, because he’s already a “nerd who loved and lived this world for so long”.
Shazam is known as one of the only superhero characters who finds his powers to be exciting, and so Zachary says the role was easy for him as he too was thrilled by the idea of playing the titular role.
He said: “As a nerd who loved and lived this world for so long, and still do to some level, that I don’t have to restrain myself with the f***ing coolness factor, is so great. I have to act so little. I just get to be me on so many levels. It’s great. It’s really really fun.”
Although Zachary admits the skin-tight suit can be difficult to navigate, but thinks the struggle is worth it to be a superhero.
He added to ScreenRant.com: “It’s a pain in the ass doing some of this s**t. It’s painstaking. It’s little by little, and little by little, and all the action and how it’s all put together. The suit is very very tight. To be perfectly honest, I can only do a number one in it. They have to take the whole thing off to drop a deuce and that’s a pain in the a**. But these are the prices you pay to be a superhero? F***ing sign me up. It’s great. It’s great.”
‘Shazam!’ is due to be released in April this year, and will also star Asher Angel as 14-year-old Billy Batson, Mark Strong as the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, and Jack Dylan Grazer and Freddy Freeman, Billy’s best friend.

OHMYGOSSIP — Catfish and the Bottlemen will release their third album in April.
The ‘Soundcheck’ rockers – comprised of Van McCann, Benji Blakeway, Bob Hall, and Johnny Bond – have revealed their third studio album, entitled ‘The Balance’, will be released on April 26.
In a post on Twitter, they wrote: “THE BALANCE 26 APRIL 2019 PRE ORDER NOW (sic)”
The tweet also included a track list for the album – which marks their first release since second album ‘The Ride’ in 2016 – which features ‘Longshot’, the single which they released earlier this month.
In an interview given when ‘Longshot’ was released, frontman Van McCann revealed the track wasn’t supposed to be their first single, but their producers enjoyed it so much they decided to keep it as the first taste of the new record.
Van said: “It was the first one we recorded for this album. The first one the producer heard. It was the back up one. I actually had another one which I thought was stronger, but I turned up to the guys and played them Longshot and they were like: ‘What?’
“So as soon as we played it to Jacknife (producer Garret Lee) and that night or the next night we were just partying and singing it. We’d all just pretty much learnt it and it felt like a good one back.
“And the first lyric being ‘Go’ and all that, yeah. It just came together real quick and I remember the excitement from these when I first showed them the acoustic version. It was kind of natural to go to that one.”
‘The Balance’ track listing:

3. 2ALL
