Drake gifts $10k to McDonald’s workers

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake has gifted $10,000 to two McDonald’s employees.
The 32-year-old singer stopped by one of the branches of the fast food giant in Los Angeles over the weekend, and was photographed handing the impressive amount in cash to two female staff members.
An eyewitness tweeted a photo of the exchange, which sees the rapper surrounded by two security guards, whilst holding out the cash to a shocked looking employee.
The good deed comes after his 2018 music video for ‘God’s Plan’ showed him handing out thousands of dollars in cash to people in Florida, paying for others’ groceries and donating massive checks to institutions such as the Miami Fire Department and the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.
Meanwhile, Drake recently opened up on his new life as a father, after Sophie Brussaux gave birth to his son Adonis in 2017.
The ‘Hotline Bling’ hitmaker said he was “excited to be a great father”, and although he wants his son to understand what happened between himself and Sophie, he doesn’t want anyone to “be angry” at her.
He added: “I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who… you know, we’ve had our moments, right? And I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don’t have any desire for him to, like, not love his mother … I don’t ever want the world to be angry at his mother. We have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible, and now I’m just really excited to be a great father. I have a son, he’s a beautiful boy.”
But Drake noted he had been “scared” to tell his mother about the situation, because he was never in a relationship with Sophie.
He said: “[I was] more scared to tell my mom because my mom has had real belief and real relationships with women in my life, like, over the course of my years. I’m sure she would expect or be elated if I were to have gotten one of those women pregnant … So it was tough for me to tell her that it’s somebody that she’s never met.”

Dr. Luke responds to Lady Gaga’s deposition

OHMYGOSSIP — Dr. Luke has responded to Lady Gaga’s deposition in Kesha’s legal battle against him, claiming she has “no knowledge” of the events.
The ‘A Star is Born’ actress – who has previously spoken about being sexually assaulted – had her deposition unsealed this week, in which discussed what Kesha had told her about the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of the producer, particularly during one night when Kesha claims Dr. Luke assaulted her in a hotel room when she was drunk.
And now, Dr. Luke has responded in a statement which claims Gaga cannot comment on the allegations because she wasn’t present on the night in question, as he insists he had “no contact” with Kesha, and only invited her over as an “act of kindness” because she was too drunk to make it home.
In a statement to The Blast, Luke’s lawyer said: “Being passionate about a topic that concerns us all is admirable. However, Lady Gaga has no knowledge of what happened on the night at issue because she was not there.
“Kesha got kicked out of a party after drinking too much and vomiting. As an act of kindness, Dr. Luke offered to allow her to sleep in his hotel suite, a few blocks away. Kesha slept on the bed in the hotel suite, while Dr. Luke separately slept on the couch. Dr. Luke testified under oath that he did not have any contact with Kesha. Kesha herself admitted under oath that she has absolutely no memory of Dr. Luke even being in the hotel room. Kesha has no memory of Dr. Luke engaging in inappropriate contact with her because it did not happen.”
In Gaga’s deposition, she hit out when asked about the possibility of false accusations of rape.
She said: “I have factual knowledge of her depression. I have factual knowledge of her need for support and love. I have factual knowledge of the spiral that I watched that girl go down. I have factual knowledge of trauma. I am informed and intelligent about this issue. That girl has experienced serious trauma and she is in the middle of the right now. And you are all a party to it.
“Why on earth would this girl tell the entire world this happened? Why on earth? Do you know what it’s like for survivors? Do you know what it’s like to tell people? Don’t you roll you eyes at me. You should be ashamed of yourself.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Hemsworth feels “very lucky” to be married to Miley Cyrus.
The ‘Hunger Games’ star says he is blessed to have tied the knot with his best friend at their home in Franklin, Tennessee last month and has dubbed married life “the best”.
Asked how he is enjoying married life, he told Entertainment Tonight: “It’s the best. It’s the best. I feel so lucky to be with someone like her. It’s great. Very lucky.”
Meanwhile, Liam previously revealed he is “loving” married life.
He confessed: “It’s wonderful! I’m loving it! It doesn’t feel like a lot’s changed, but on the other hand it has!”
Liam and Miley first met in 2009, on the set of the romantic drama movie ‘The Last Song’, before they split in 2013.
And the Hollywood star – who reconciled with Miley in 2016 – has revealed that their wedding day was an unforgettable occasion for the pair of them.
He recalled: “It was a really nice, beautiful day with our immediate family and a couple of close friends. It’s wonderful, we’ve been together for the better part of ten years.”
Liam made the comments shortly after a source claimed that Miley “wants to have a family” with her new husband.

Roy Cropper’s foster son returning to Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Coronation Street’s Roy Cropper is in for a shock when his foster son Wayne Hayes turns up on the cobbles – more than 17 years since his last visit.
The Roy’s Rolls owner – played by David Neilson – is to be visited by a health-and-safety inspector in the coming weeks, and he turns out to be Wayne – now played by Adam Barlow, the namesake of ‘Corrie’ star Sam Robertson’s character – who Roy hasn’t seen since Christmas Eve 2001.
A show insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Little Wayne had a really tough time before, but now he’s all grown up and has a decent job.
“It’ll be interesting to see how he and Roy get along…”
Wayne will turn up in Weatherfield in March, and he will be involved in the Underworld factory collapse storyline, which will see him try to put pressure on Roy’s pal Carla Connor (Alison King) after the tragedy leaves one resident dead.
The youngster’s last appearance on the cobbles came on Christmas Eve in December 2001 when he and his mum Sheila Hayes (Jeni Williams) visited Roy and wife Hayley Cropper (Julie Hesmondhalgh).
Roy and Hayley had previously taken Wayne in after the youngster stole food from his cafe, but they took pity on him upon discovering his stepfather Alex Swinton (Joe Simpson) had been hitting him.
The couple later kidnapped Wayne to protect him from Alex following a camping trip in Derbyshire, but turned themselves into police which later saw Hayley kept in custody after she refused not to have any contact with the lad.
But nearly a year after meeting Wayne, Roy managed to persuade Sheila to go to the police about Alex, and he was later arrested.
Wayne, who was 10 at the time, and Sheila turned up to see Roy and Hayley for a final time on Christmas Eve 2001 before departing the cobbles.
Roy’s blast from the past comes after his mother, Sylvia Goodwin – who was played by Stephanie Cole – passed away off-screen last week.
The 77-year-old actress previously played the outspoken battleaxe from 2011 to 2013, after the character departed Weatherfield to live with her sister Jean in Hastings when she was left devastated by Hayley’s cancer diagnosis. Hayley went on to take her own life in January 2014.

Aquaman becomes DC’s highest-grossing film

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Aquaman’ has become the highest-grossing DC Comics film in history.
The James Wan-directed hit – which features the likes of Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and Nicole Kidman – passed the $1.09 billion landmark at the worldwide box office over the weekend, according to Box Office Mojo.
The achievement means that ‘Aquaman’ has leapfrogged Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ – which earned $1.08 billion worldwide in 2012 – in the list of the highest-grossing DC Comics movie.
By comparison, the critically-acclaimed ‘Wonder Woman’ – which stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine – earned $821 million worldwide.
‘Aquaman’s box-office success may have come as something of a surprise because unlike hits like ‘Wonder Woman’, the fantasy movie proved to be devise with critics.
Meanwhile, Jason Momoa previously admitted to being shocked when he was cast as Aquaman in the record-breaking film.
The Hollywood star actually thought he was more suited to a villainous role in the DC movie.
He said: “When [producer] Zack [Snyder] first told me I’d been cast, I mean, I wish I had a picture of my face because, you know, I can see Patrick [Wilson, who plays ‘Aquaman’ villain King Orm] being hired for ‘Aquaman’.
“I am the last person you should be hiring for ‘Aquaman’! I thought I’d be playing a villain. But when he explained to me, it was just such an honour.”

Ghostbusters 3 handed July 2020 premiere date

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Ghostbusters 3’ has been handed a premiere date of July 10, 2020.
The much-discussed sci-fi sequel is currently being developed by Jason Reitman – whose father is Ivan Reitman, who directed the original two ‘Ghostbusters’ movies – and is set for release next year.
Casting for the project is currently underway, with Jason hoping to begin shooting the movie over the summer.
The original ‘Ghostbusters’ films starred the likes of Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver, while 2016’s female-led reboot starred Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.
Jason, 41, will write and direct the upcoming film, which is linked to the original films rather than the reboot.
He recently told Entertainment Weekly: “I’ve always thought of myself as the first ‘Ghostbusters’ fan, when I was a six-year-old visiting the set. I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans.
“This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ’80s happened in the ’80s, and this is set in the present day.”
Jason also teased his specific plans for the project, saying that it will feature some “wonderful surprises”.
He shared: “This is very early, and I want the film to unwrap like a present. We have a lot of wonderful surprises and new characters for the audience to meet.”
The upcoming movie seems to be something of a passion project for the filmmaker who thinks his movies “should be an opportunity to reflect our lives”.
Jason previously revealed he considers it his responsibility to make his audience consider their own lives and their decisions more closely.
He said: “Movies should be an opportunity to reflect our lives and re-examine how we feel about the way we’re living now.
“My job as a filmmaker is not to take you over the finish line or tell you what to think. My job is to offer questions and then hand you the baton to run within any direction you wish.
“My thrill is when one audience member has a completely different experience to the one next to them, and the debate that comes from that on the ride home.”

Freida Pinto: I was too honest as a kid

OHMYGOSSIP — Freida Pinto was “too honest” as a child.
The 34-year-old actress – who was born in Mumbai in India – has revealed that her parents were concerned that she was overly opinionated during her youth, and that she would be persevered as being “rude”.
Freida – who starred in 2018’s ‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle’ – shared: “I was very candid; a bit too honest.
“When I was six or seven years old, there was this young boy, probably about 16, who sang a Christmas carol during Sunday mass, and he was terrible.
“He came over to wish the family happy Christmas and I said: ‘Hey, you sang terribly at mass today, you shouldn’t sing.’ And my mum was like: ‘Oh my God, I’m so embarrassed, I’m so sorry that my daughter is so rude.'”
However, Freida explained that, over time, she’s learned to bite her tongue – even though it goes against her instincts.
Asked whether she’d be similarly blunt these days, Freida told the Guardian newspaper: “Of course not because I’ve been told not to do it, or I’ll find a better way of putting it, but I was a bit too blunt as a child, and that was terrible. I hurt the poor boy’s feelings.”
Asked how the boy reacted, the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ star said: “Apparently he was very upset. My mum told me he never sang again after that.”

Camila Cabello gets ‘music high’ off new songs

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello got a “music high” off her new music.
The former Fifth Harmony star took to Twitter over the weekend to update her fans on the tunes she has been working on for her follow-up to her self-titled debut solo album, and revealed she and her mom Sinuhe had fun testing them out in the car.
She told her 7.83 million followers: “I’m having the most insanely beautiful time writing in the studio. I just listened to some songs in the car with my mama and we have that new music high (sic)”
Meanwhile, the ‘Havana’ hitmaker recently hinted at a collaboration with Mark Ronson.
The 21-year-old singer took to her Instagram account to post a behind-the-scenes photograph of herself and Mark in a studio alongside Ilsey Juber, who co-wrote Camila’s ‘She Loves Control’.
Camila captioned the snap with writing and kissing emojis, while Mark also posted the same image on his own Instagram.
He wrote: “Feelings & Consequences @camila_cabello @ilsey (sic)”
Camila’s Instagram post arrived shortly after she revealed on Twitter that she’d returned to the recording studio, where she’s been busily working on her new album.
She wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “1st day back to writing the new album- I feel so lucky that I get to do this every day. This was my dream when I was younger, getting to make songs everyday and now I’m here. I’m reminding myself of that every single day this year (sic)”
Prior to that, Camila – who released her eponymous debut album in 2018 – revealed she’s “never felt more alive”.
The chart-topping star took to Instagram to reflect on 2018, saying that the lack of certainty in her life is both “terrifying” and hugely exciting.
The ‘Crying in the Club’ hitmaker explained: “Looking back on this year, I’ve never felt more alive, never felt the experience of being a human more intensely. I’m exhausted. LOL. But that’s how I want it. 2018. (sic)”

Ed Balls signs up for Comic Relief climb

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Balls has signed up for Comic Relief’s Mount Kilimanjaro climb.
The 51-year-old former politician – who competed in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2016 – is preparing to throw himself into training for the expedition so he doesn’t “slow the group down”.
A TV insider told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “He indulged a bit over Christmas and will be the oldest man taking part so doesn’t want to slow the group down.
“But Ed is determined to get to his peak physical fitness.”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge Shirley Ballas and Little Mix are also said to have been approached to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the tallest mountain in Africa and stands at 5,895 metres.
Shirley will start preparing next month after the ‘Strictly’ tour finishes.
Every year around 1,000 people are evacuated from the mountain and approximately 10 deaths are reported, although the actual number of casualties is believed to be higher.
In 2009, Gary Barlow, Ronan Keating, Chris Moyles, Ben Shephard, Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh, Denise Van Outen, Fearne Cotton and Alesha Dixon set off to Tanzania to tackle Kilimanjaro with project manager and guide Jeremy Gane of Charity Challenge.
Cheryl, Fearne, Denise and Ben reached the summit first at sunrise.
Then-British Prime Minister Gordon Brown met with the group upon their return to the UK, and said they were “inspiring a generation of kids” with their bravery.
The climb raised an excess of £3.5 million with over £1.8 million coming from the audience of BBC Radio 1, which was a record for the station.
Comic Relief has raised more than £1 billion since it launched in 1985.
The charity says it uses the money to “tackle the root causes of poverty and social injustice in the UK and across the world”.

Anne Hathaway feels ‘proud’ of Serenity

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hathaway relished exploring the “rage that exists that behind the mask of femininity” in ‘Serenity’.
The Oscar-winning actress – who plays Karen Zariakas, a woman who pleads with a fishing boat captain to kill her abusive new husband, in the Steven Knight-directed thriller – thinks that, in some ways, the movie was ahead of its time in relation to the #MeToo movement.
Anne explained: “The thing about Karen that I found really satisfying and worth exploring was the rage that exists that behind the mask of femininity that the male gaze creates.
“That was before the conversation surrounding #MeToo and #TimesUp had even taken off. So Steven was really onto something there.”
Anne, 36, admitted to being challenged by the complexities of the role.
The Hollywood star also insisted she’s “proud” that the film has “held up” following the launch of the #MeToo movement, which fights against sexual harassment and assault.
Anne explained to Den of Geek: “For me, it was about how do I present as this typical object, not just of obscure desire but specifically of male desire? How do I explore the iconography, the language of that and then in the final scene rip the mask off and show that underneath it this was a woman whose life has been contorted by abuse and rage and a lack of freedom and a lack of oxygen and a lack of space?
“And I’m really proud that once #MeToo and #TimesUp happened, that all of those choices that Steven and Matthew [McConaughey] and myself and Jason [Clarke] all made, they all held up.”

Eamonn Holmes on his ‘cult status’

OHMYGOSSIP — Eamonn Holmes says he and Ruth Langsford have reached “cult status” because of their workload.
The 59-year-old TV presenter admits that he and his 58-year-old co-host – who have been married for nine years – have had to make sacrifices so they could begin fronting ‘This Morning on Sunday’, but they enjoy being recognised for their hard work.
Eamonn told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Sometimes, you reach a complimentary status where they start calling you a cult.
“Well, I think that’s what they are calling me…
“We are privileged to be offered work, and I can’t believe that I’m still relevant, being in the business nearly 40 years.
“‘This Morning on Sunday’ could turn into a two-hour version like the rest of the week, depending on reaction – apparently it’s good so far.
“In between all that, you run your family life like everyone else does. You do dry cleaning and buy new shoes and try to go to the dentist.
“It’s difficult. I know the first 10 weeks of the year I can’t go back to Belfast, and that grinds on me – I miss my mum. But that’s a sacrifice.
“I apologise to anyone who is sick of looking at me and Ruth on TV.”
This month, the power couple began hosting ITV’s ‘This Morning on Sunday’ – a weekend version of the weekly brunch-time show, which they already host on Fridays.
The couple also present Channel 5 shows ‘Do The Right Thing’ and ‘How the Other Half Lives’.
Ruth regularly anchors ‘Loose Women’, and Eamonn hosts a daily, three-hour radio show.
The couple – who are on air for up to 17 hours a week – are also constantly in demand for panel shows.

Russell Howard: BBC made me rewrite ‘offensive Isis joke’

OHMYGOSSIP — Russell Howard says the BBC made him “rewrite” a joke in case it “offended Isis”.
The 38-year-old comedian was told to re-record a segment of his series ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ after show bosses “lost their mind” when he made a quip, saying the Islamic State group “weren’t Muslims”.
Speaking on his Sky One show ‘The Russell Howard Hour’, he said: “A while back I worked for the BBC and I did a piece about the Paris attacks when I said Isis weren’t Muslims, they were terrorists – and the crowd cheered.
“And then, at the end of the show, the BBC lost their mind, [saying] ‘You need to re-record it! You need to say Isis aren’t ‘devout Muslims’.
“I was like, ‘Are you worried we are going to offend Isis?’ ‘Are they going to write in?’ ”
The comic then imagined a terrorist writing a letter of complaint to the Beeb: “‘Dear Points Of View, imagine my horror when I was misrepresented on a late-night satire show.
“Farouk and I will be cancelling our TV licence. Please excuse my handwriting, I have a hook for a hand.’ ”
He added: “F**k those traitors to their faith! If they are killing people, the least I can do as a comedian is call them names. And if Isis gets upset, then f**k them.”
The star’s ‘The Russell Hour Hour’ show was recently recommissioned, and he admitted it was a “ridiculous privilege” to be able to continue work on the series.
In a statement, he said: “I absolutely love doing this show.
“It’s such a ridiculous privilege that I get to write jokes as the world spins out of control.”

Lorraine Kelly’s Wedding Day Winners axed

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorraine Kelly’s ‘Wedding Day Winners’ has been axed.
The 59-year-old TV presenter was hired last year to front the BBC primetime gameshow alongside Rob Beckett, which saw couples compete for the chance to get hitched on TV, but the programme has been dropped.
She said: “It was a great show and I loved doing it. But it’s OK because I have got my hands full doing my breakfast show to be honest. I’m a lucky girl to get to do what I do.
“Everything was done to make ‘Wedding Day Winners’ a success but it just didn’t work.
“Light entertainment is a hard area to get right. There have been quite a few casualties in recent years.”
An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: “Lorraine is popular but her move to primetime didn’t prove to be the success everyone thought it would be.”
Lorraine went on to explain that she doesn’t worry about what fans think of her show and she tries not to take social media “seriously” as that would be “madness”.
She said: “I don’t look on social media. That would be madness. You know if you’ve done something that’s OK, or you know when you could have done better.
“If you start taking social media seriously it’s the wrong thing to do. While there is a lot of positivity, there is also a lot of negativity.
“You have to do your own thing – you have to paddle your own canoe.”

Blue to be new faces of boiler company

OHMYGOSSIP — Blue are the new faces of Ideal Boilers.
The pop group – comprised Antony Costa, Duncan James, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe – are set to feature in a string of “quirky” TV adverts for the Hull-based boiler company next month for a lucrative fee.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “It’s not the usual endorsement deal you’d expect from a boy band – but Blue aren’t your ordinary boy band. They expect to get some stick but see the funny side, as well as the cash incentive. The adverts will be pretty quirky.”
Despite selling over 15 million albums worldwide and having a host of hit singles, including ‘One Love’, ‘All Rise’ and ‘Too Close’ a few years ago all four members of the band filed for bankruptcy and collectively made the decision to liquidate the company they ran on behalf of Blue after they were sued by their management.
Duncan, 40, previously said: “We were sued by our management, who tried to screw us over big time, so we liquidated the company. They went after each one of us at a time.”
The band originally separated in 2004 but reunited in January 2011 to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest and have toured on-and-off ever since and released two albums – and despite the group’s recent financial issues, Lee, 35, says the boys are “always gonna be around” because they’re “brothers”.
He said: “The Blue boys are good; we’re all working on different kinds of projects. Blue are always going to be around.
“We’re brothers, we’re not one of those groups that fall out and break-up, we love being with each other and I think we’ll continue to be with each other until our legs fall off.”

New evidence suggests Richey Edwards staged own disappearance

OHMYGOSSIP — New claims have emerged that claim Manic Street Preachers musician Richey Edwards staged his own disappearance.
The guitarist-and-songwriter disappeared from the Embassy Hotel in London in February 1995 at the age of 27 and after an extensive search by the authorities, his family and his bandmates, James Dean Bradfield, Nicky Wire and Sean Moore, he was declared “presumed dead” in 2008.
However, a new book by Sara Hawys Roberts and Leon Noakes, with the full co-operation of Richey’s sister Rachel Elias who granted unprecedented access to his personal archives, suggests the Welsh rocker may have faked his own death.
The tome ‘Withdrawn Traces: Searching for the Truth about Richey Manic’ reveals a story written by the ‘Little Baby Nothing’ hitmaker for his school homework in 1980, where he plots disappearing from the same bridge, Severn Bridge, he is believed to have fallen from and the work details the musician’s interest at his great aunt, who lived inside her childhood home alone for 80 years, and his great uncle, went off-grid in the 1960s.
Speaking in the book about Richey’s obsession with the perfect disappearance, Sara told The Sun newspaper: “Knowing how intelligent he was, if anybody was going to stage a disappearance he would certainly be the person who would have been more than capable.
“As the band themselves have said, Richard was very adept at dramatic symbolism.
“He used to think a lot about the books he would read, the things he would say, what he’d give out in interviews.
“With all the books and all the different things he’d left and all the things he had spoken about before going missing, there were symbolic things in there that would lead you to think, ‘Oh, yeah, he did plan his disappearance.’ ”
The book also suggests that the ‘Motorcycle Emptiness’ singer may have had undiagnosed Asperger’s Syndrome which stemmed his desire to shut out the world as a coping mechanism, and unveils unknown sightings of the rocker and details a mystery woman called Vivian – who was the last person to see Richey before his disappearance.

The Who announce Wembley Stadium show

OHMYGOSSIP — The Who have announced a major Wembley Stadium show for July.
The ‘Pinball Wizard’ hitmakers – Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend – have confirmed they will bring their ‘Moving On! Tour’ to the London venue on July 6, after teasing fans about a big announcement on social media.
A cryptic video was posted on The Who’s Twitter page with ‘Baba O’Riley’ soundtracking highlights of their career over the weekend.
Another clip saw the lyrics from ‘My Generation’, “I”m not trying to cause a big sensation”, flash up on the stadium’s banner with their iconic bullseye logo.
Now taking to Twitter to confirm the show, they wrote: “We’re playing Wembley Stadium on July 6th, 2019 and want to see you there!
You’ve got until 4pm Tuesday January 29th to get first access to tickets. Find out how by visiting the store now: https://TheWho.lnk.to/OfficialStoreTW (sic)”
The gig will see the iconic rock group joined by special guests including Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Kaiser Chiefs, with more acts to be announced shortly.
As previously confirmed for the tour, the show will feature the pair playing songs from their back catalogue accompanied by an orchestra, and frontman Roger previously reassured fans that it doesn’t mean they will be giving their performance any less “throttle”.
He said: “Be aware Who fans! Just because it’s The Who with an orchestra, in no way will it compromise the way Pete and I deliver our music. This will be full throttle Who with horns and bells on.”
As well as the ‘Moving On! Tour’, the band recently announced their first album in over a decade.
The surviving members of the legendary rock band – who were joined by the late drummer Keith Moon and bassist John Entwistle in the original formation of the group – revealed earlier this month that they have a follow-up to 2006’s ‘Endless Wire’ in the works.
Describing the tracks he has penned, Pete teased: “Dark ballads, heavy rock stuff, experimental electronica, sampled stuff and Who-ish tunes that began with a guitar that goes yanga-dang.”
The record is mainly the work of the 73-year-old musician, but his bandmate has hinted he’ll add some of his own songs to the mix.
He explained: “This has nothing to do with wanting a hit album [or] the fact The Who need a new album. It’s purely personal. It’s about my pride, my sense of self-worth and self-dignity as a writer.”
Roger, 74, added: “There’s at least five or six [songs] I can lay into and I’m sure they’ll come out incredible.”
Tickets for the Wembley show go on sale on Friday (01.02.19) from 10am on Live Nation.
