Peter Jackson making new Beatles documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Lord of the Rings’ filmmaker Sir Peter Jackson is making a new documentary on The Beatles using 55 hours of never-before-seen studio footage that was shot in early 1969 for the 1970 feature film ‘Let It Be’.
The exciting project – from Apple Corps Ltd and Jackson’s production company WingNut Films Ltd – has been announced on Wednesday January 30 on what is the 50th anniversary of The Fab Four’s rooftop concert on top of the Apple Records offices in London.
Although no release date has been set it is believed that the as-yet untitled film will come out in 2020 to mark the 50th anniversary of the ‘Let It Be’ movie and album – which was the final studio release from the band before they split at the end of 1970.
In a statement confirming the doc, Jackson said: “The 55 hours of never-before-seen footage and 140 hours of audio made available to us ensure this movie will be the ultimate ‘fly on the wall’ experience that Beatles fans have long dreamt about. It’s like a time machine transports us back to 1969, and we get to sit in the studio watching these four friends make great music together.”
The footage for the original ‘Let It Be’ documentary film was shot as the band – John Lennon, George Harrison, Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr – rehearsed the songs for the album at Twickenham Film Studios and then recorded them at Apple headquarters and the dissension and fractured relationships that led to the group’s demise 18 months later was seen on screen.
That film has been out of circulation since the 1980s when it was available as VHS and laserdisc after a restored cut was pulled from DVD release in the early 2000s reportedly on the instructions of surviving members Paul, 76, and Ringo, 78.
However, the restored version of director Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s film will come out “following the release of this new film,” according to Apple Corps.
Jackson, 57, has been through much of the unseen footage and says that what he has viewed shows just how much fun the four bandmates had during those sessions, despite the impending break-up.
The New Zealand-born filmmaker said: “I was relieved to discover the reality is very different to the myth. After reviewing all the footage and audio that Michael Lindsay-Hogg shot 18 months before they broke up, it’s simply an amazing historical treasure trove. Sure, there’s moments of drama, but none of the discord this project has long been associated with. Watching John, Paul, George and Ringo work together, creating now-classic songs from scratch, is not only fascinating. it’s funny, uplifting and surprisingly intimate … I’m thrilled and honored to have been entrusted with this remarkable footage. Making the movie will be a sheer joy.”

Letitia Wright ‘never thought’ she’s front beauty campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Letitia Wright “never thought” she would be in a beauty advertisement.
The 25-year-old actress is fronting bareMinerals latest campaign, and has admitted that she never expected “black girls like me [to be] doing that” and insisted it felt “naturally cool” to front the beauty brand.
In an interview with Glamour, she said: “I never thought that anyone would ask me to be in a beauty campaign I didn’t see myself and black girls like me doing that.
“For bareMinerals to hit my people up and the fact I used bareMinerals before, meant it naturally felt cool to be part of it.”
The ‘Black Panther’ star hopes that the campaign will inspire “young girls” and have a positive effect on “people for a long time to come.”
She said: “It inspires young girls in general, especially close to home, to have my little sister and Mum walk into Debenhams and my sister see it’s not impossible.
“It’s inspirational for someone like my sister to have someone she sees everyday celebrated in this way is and for that to have a positive effect on people for a long time to come.”
The ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ actress went on to explain that she feels cosmetics should be used to enhance natural beauty and never to hide insecurities.
She said: “I never sought validation from anyone else growing up. Make-up should never be used to cover up insecurities…
“Naturally seeing that and having my religion meant that I didn’t need validation from anyone else. If I didn’t want to wear makeup then great, or if I did, great!
“If you put on a product like bareMinerals and you feel like you don’t need to put it on to cover up insecurities, the foundation is already there. I know the foundation is already there in myself worth and then when I put it on, I just feel extra fly!”

Masked Singer designer wants costumes to end up in museum

OHMYGOSSIP — The costume designer of ‘The Masked Singer’ wants the show’s elaborate outfits to end up in a museum.
The Fox reality show, hosted by Nick Cannon, is a top-secret singing competition in which celebrities face off against one another while shrouded from head to toe in a costume to conceal their identity, and designer Marina Toybina has revealed that she would like the contestants’ intricate outfits to end up in a fashion exhibit.
In an interview with the Huffington Post, he said: “Right now, the network has all the costumes, and they are being used for promos.
“I’m not sure what’s going to happen after. It would be nice to see them in a museum, like the FIDM [Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising] costume museum.”
The judging panel, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke, have no idea which celebrity is singing and Marina has admitted that although the costumes are required to hide the singing stars’ identities, she wasn’t too concerned with hiding the celebrities’ physical forms.
She said: “In the masks, these people become something different; they become the world they are wearing. I wasn’t so keen on making it that discreet.
“We wanted to create a comfortable world for them. The hiding became more about the mask than the full costume. The rest is about the theatrical feel.”
As for whether certain costumes are made for individual contestants, the designer confessed that production of the outfits was underway before the full cast was even chosen.
She said: “We started creating the mock-ups before the full casting was complete. As we were creating them, we were finding out who might be each character. It was a step-by-step situation.”

Brian Johnson to feature on new AC/DC album

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian Johnson has confirmed a new AC/DC is on the way – and he will be singing on it.
The 71-year-old singer previously forced to quit the band in 2016 on doctor’s orders due to progressive hearing loss, and he was replaced for the band’s remaining live dates by Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose.
Johnson has now seemingly confirmed that a brand new album is set to be released, and his unique rock pipes are back.
American band Terrorizer shared the news after meeting Johnson – who joined AC/DC in 1980 following the death of previous singer Bon Scott – in an airport.
Writing on their Facebook page, the band said: “We ran into Brian Johnson from AC/DC at the airport today after the flight home. We asked him about the rumours of him being on the new AC/DC album and he said ‘yes’ and that he is ‘sick of denying it.’ So that was a cool surprise ending to the tour.”
The band’s rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young – the older brother of lead guitarist Angus Young – died in November 2017 after retiring due to early onset dementia, and it has previously reported that the ‘Highway To Hell’ rockers would release “hundreds” of unreleased songs that featured Young and Johnson on “vocals”.
A source told Dallas’s JAM magazine: “Turns out, five years prior to the ‘Black Ice’ LP, AC/DC’s 15th studio release, Angus and Malcolm Young lived together where they literally wrote hundreds of songs, many were recorded and have been stashed away until now.
“Angus has decided to selected [sic] the best tracks from those recordings that Malcolm played on and is now back in the studio recording and mixing them with fellow band mates Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams and yes, Brian Johnson on vocals.”

Vanessa Hudgens ‘loved’ wardrobe in Second Act

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Hudgens “loved” her “winter statement” wardrobe in ‘Second Act’.
The 30-year-old actress plays Zoe in the romantic comedy and stars opposite Jennifer Lopez, who pursues a corporate career and despite being a “native Californian”, she liked the A/W layered looks she was styled in for the New York-set film.
Speaking to America’s Marie Claire magazine, she said: “Zoe’s wardrobe was really nice. I love the winter layering – like the big winter coats with the thick scarves – I felt like they were such statements and so chic.
“I do like A/W fashion and I definitely enjoy seasons for short stints of time, but being a native Californian – I just want the sun the whole time. I mean, I’ve literally just been complaining about how I want it to be summer so that I can wear a dress.”
The brunette beauty also confessed that her favourite scene in the film was when she and co-star Jennifer Lopez were filming in Central Park because they shared a “real life movie moment”.
Opening up about her favourite scene, she added: “It is really random. There was one scene when we were walking through Central Park together around the big classic Central Park fountain while we were filming in New York.
“It was a walk and talk scene and at one point it literally felt like someone had turned on a massive fan and put leaves in front of it. There were just leaves blowing all around us. But no, it was just Mother Nature doing her thing.
“And I remember looking up at Jennifer and looking around at Central Park and all these leaves blowing and it was just one of those real life movie moments, which is so funny because it turned into a real life movie moment.”

Lionel Blair blames insurance for lack of TV offers

OHMYGOSSIP — Lionel Blair claims he doesn’t get offered TV work because of sky high insurance costs.
The 90-year-old showbiz legend explained that older actors find it difficult to work on television because the insurance for them “costs a fortune” and production companies are often unwilling to fork out the fees and instead opt for younger performers.
Speaking at The Oldie of the Year Awards on Tuesday (29.01.19) Lionel told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “The terrible thing at the moment is when they want older people on television the insurance sots a fortune, as you can imagine. It falls on the production company, so they’ve got that to pay on top of my wage, and they can make young people look older.”
Revealing it has also affected his work away from television, he added: “I’ve done loads of cruises but that suddenly stopped because the insurance is too much, in case I peg it in the middle of the Nile. But I’m quite a good sailor.”
At the ceremony, the former ‘Give Us a Clue’ star was moved to tears as he was presented with the Lionel d’Or Oldie of the Year Award to a standing ovation at the event which was held at Simpson’s in the Strand.

Martha was an actress and radio presenter and she appeared on ‘EastEnders’ for 20 years playing a stallholder on Walford’s Bridge Street market, however, she lost her job in 2006 after she gave away a plot when revealing her day’s filming to son Paul, who then spoke about the storyline on his LBC radio show.

Ariana Grande’s tattoo pays homage to charcoal grill

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande’s new tattoo accidentally pays homage to a charcoal grill.
The 25-year-old pop star intended for her new inking on the palm of her hand to spell ‘7 Rings’ in Japanese – in reference to her new chart-topping single – but the body art actually translates to read “shichirin”, which is the name of a small charcoal grill.
However, Ariana was able to see the funny side of her mistake.
Acknowledging the error on her Twitter account, she wrote in a now-deleted message: “Indeed, I left out [some characters] which should have gone in between. It hurt like f**k n still looks tight. I wouldn’t have lasted one more symbol lmao. But this spot also peels a ton and won’t last so if I miss it enough I’ll suffer thru the whole thing next time (sic)”
The singer added: “also….huge fan of tiny bbq grills (sic)”
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Ariana apologised for the offence she caused by joking about the lyrics to ‘7 Rings’.
The singer insisted she never intended to offend anyone with her lyrics to the hit record, which is from her album ‘Thank U, Next’.
The controversy surrounded the line: “You like my hair? Gee, thanks, just bought it…”
Following the release of the track, one of Ariana’s fans sarcastically wrote on Instagram Stories: “White women talking about their weaves is how we’re gonna solve racism.”
Ariana shared the post with her followers, saying she had “so much love” for the fan responsible for the message.
And although she subsequently decided to delete her post, the message was captured by The Shade Room, prompting an online backlash against the singer.
Ariana – who frequently talks to her fans via social media – later issued an apology, saying it was “never my attention to offend anybody”.

Anne Hathaway ‘did everything wrong’

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne Hathaway “barely ate anything” and turned to cigarettes ahead of awards season a decade ago.
The 36-year-old actress admitted she felt pressure to have “a certain body” because although her career was flourishing, she was gripped with “feelings of inadequacy, insecurity, nervousness and anxiety” and didn’t look after herself properly.
Speaking on ‘The Jess Cagle Interview’ on PeopleTV, she said: “I did everything so wrong for so long.
“I’m not big on looking back but I remember 10 years ago being so scared going into the whole awards season and doing what I thought I was supposed to do, so I barely ate anything at Christmas…I thought movie stars had to have a certain body. I was just smoking, just smoking my nerves away and wasn’t nourishing myself.”
But the ‘Serenity’ actress – who has son Jonathan, two, with husband Adam Shulman – admits she’s changed her outlook drastically since then.
She said: “I just figured out how to say thank you to life by taking care of myself. By not apologising for taking up space, which is not something I knew how to do 10 years ago.
“It’s been a journey. I don’t look that different, but I just feel like the inside has transformed so much.”
And Anne isn’t particularly interested in what her critics have to say about her – but if they are going to be negative, she’d rather they were “witty” in their cutting remarks.
She said: “Everybody’s entitled to their opinion. What I appreciate is when the negativity has some intelligence behind it. What I don’t like is lazy negativity. If you’re going to take someone down, have a point of view! Be witty, maybe pun a little!”

Bebe Rexha surprised by support

OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha didn’t expect to receive an outpouring of support after revealing designers wouldn’t dress her for the Grammy Awards.
The 29-year-old singer spoke out last week to claim she had been told she was “too big” to be given a dress by a number of fashion houses, and she was subsequently inundated with kind messages from fans and the likes of Demi Lovato, Rita Ora and Megan Mullally, much to her surprise.
She told People magazine: “I really just wanted to share my story and how frustrated I was. I never expected to receive the amount of love and support that I did,.”
When she does make it down the red carpet for the annual awards ceremony on February 10, Bebe will be supported by her immediate family.
She said: “My date will be my mom, dad and brother. I’m bringing them all on the red carpet. I want them all with me every step of the way.
“They’ve been there for me through everything, so I want them all there for this. We will be celebrating no matter what, win or lose.”
The ‘I’m A Mess’ singer – who is nominated for New Artist and Country Duo/Group Performance for ‘Meant to Be’, her collaboration with Florida Georgia Line – feels honoured to be shortlisted at the prestigious ceremony.
She said: “The Grammys are just so special. I remember watching as a kid at home with my mom. Attending as an nominee is so incredible as you feel like you are being recognised by your peers and the people you respect in the industry.”
Bebe previously took to Instagram to slam designers for refusing to dress her size 8 frame.
In a video posted on her account, she fumed: “So I finally get nominated at the Grammys and it’s like the coolest thing ever.
“And a lot of times artists will go and talk to designers and they’ll make them custom dresses to walk the red carpet … So I had my team hit out a lot of designers and a lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big.”
The ‘I Got You’ singer is angry that they are giving out the message that anyone who is size eight and above isn’t “beautiful”.
She added: “If a size 6-8, is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you. Then I don’t want to wear your f***ing dresses. ‘Cause that’s crazy … You’re saying that all the women in the world that are size 8 and up are not beautiful, and they cannot wear your dresses.”

Beverley Callard mourns passing of pooch

OHMYGOSSIP — Beverley Callard is “broken-hearted” following the death of her pet dog Trevor.
The 61-year-old actress – who is best known for portraying Liz McDonald in ‘Coronation Street’ – has had a rough week after she had to say farewell to her beloved ‘Corrie’ canine Trev who went to doggy heaven on Tuesday evening (30.01.19).
Beverley had to make the painful decision to have her mutt mate put to sleep by the vet but although she is grieving now she knows it was the right thing to do.
Posting a photo tribute to English bull terrier Trev on Twitter, she wrote: “Very sad day today our beautiful Trev had to be put to sleep, broken hearted but it was the right thing to do x”
Since tweeting the news, Beverley has been inundated with messages from her friends and loyal fans with messages of support.

Bev adopted Trev from an animal charity in 2011 after deciding she had to give the dog a home after learning about his harrowing start in life.
Speaking previously about her late four-legged friend, she said: “He had been stabbed, he had had both his hips broken with a baseball bat, he was in a really bad way, and apparently it took them about eight months to make him better. We gave him a home and he is just the softest boy in the whole world.”

Rosie O’Donnell says becoming grandparent is ‘beautiful’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosie O’Donnell thinks becoming a grandparent is like “having a baby times a million”.
The 56-year-old actress flew straight to Wisconsin in December when her daughter Chelsea – who she adopted as a baby with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter – went into labour with her first child and though she missed the birth of Skylar Rose by just an hour, the star admitted that the feeling of becoming a grandparent for the first time is “beautiful” and “trite”.
Speaking with Seth Meyers on Tuesday’s (29.01.19) ‘Late Night’, Rosie said: “I flew right in… I just missed the birth but I was there right after. It was something really beautiful. It’s very trite, but it’s what everyone says — when you’re a grandparent, it’s like [having] a baby times a million. And that’s what it felt like.”
Chelsea and her boyfriend Jacob Bourassa welcomed Skylar into the world just a day after director Penny Marshall – who directed Rosie in her first movie, 1992’s ‘A League of Their Own’ – passed away and the tot gave her grandmother a timely reminder about the beauty of the “circle of life”.
She said: “It was a big, big heartbreak when she died, and then my granddaughter was born the next day.
“So I got the call that she had passed, and then I got the call [about my granddaughter].
“It reminded me about the whole circle of life, and to remember every great thing that I had with her and that she really did give me a film career. I’ll be eternally grateful.”
The ‘SMILF’ star has taken great delight in seeing Chelsea – who she reconciled with last June following a long period of estrangement – settling down into her own “contented” family unit.
She said recently: “[It’s been great] to see my daughter so happy and so content, and this guy who loves her so much, loving that baby. I think a lot of adopted kids feel, until they have their own child, they don’t have that unit, to look at someone who looks like them, to see genetically that they have their own kind of history. So it was really a very beautiful thing.”
As well as Chelsea, Rosie also has Parker, 23, Blake, 19, and Vivienne, 16, with Kelli, and six-year-old Dakota with late second ex-wife Michelle Rounds.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding was ‘super intimate’

OHMYGOSSIP — Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas enjoyed a “super intimate” wedding of 200 people.
The 36-year-old actress and Nick, 26, tied the knot in India in December and Priyanka has claimed that the three-day wedding was a very personal occasion.
She said on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’: “One Indian ceremony, one western Christian ceremony, and one day of pre-rituals, which we have in the Hindu wedding.
“Usually Indian weddings are 1,000 people at least. We had only 200, which was mostly family because both of us have giant families.”
Asked why they didn’t have more guests at their wedding, Priyanka told Ellen: “I think we just wanted to keep it super intimate.”
Priyanka also recalled being wowed by Nick when he slid into her direct messages before they started dating.
The ‘Baywatch’ star admitted: “I’d seen ‘Close’ by then, and I was like, ‘Wowza!'”
At the beginning of their relationship, Priyanka didn’t know much about Nick’s music.
And despite of her global fame, Nick didn’t know a great deal about Priyanka’s acting career, either.
She shared: “I just didn’t know the music. I knew some of the songs, but I didn’t know much about them.
“In fact, Nick and I both didn’t know much about each other, so we did a show and tell after we started dating, where we showed each other our work from when we were younger, the embarrassing stuff, the horrible things. That’s how we got to know each other’s careers.”
Priyanka is impressed that Nick – who starred alongside his siblings Kevin and Joe in the Jonas Brothers – has remained unaffected by the challenges of finding fame and success at such a young age.
She said: “It shocks me how he’s not been corrupted.
“He’s so family driven and it’s all about his parents. He’s just really nice and sweet.”
